I WILL BE WALKING INTO THE OCEAN WHAT? The entire song is exactly about Yuuji failing to save Junpei and his new goal of finding a proper way to die and give people proper deaths. "Swear that you'll watch over me"???? ITADORI YUUJI START EXPLAINING.

Sunset and Whale by Zhang Yuan and Vicky:

I don't know the exact meaning of this song, I can't find good translations anywhere but the gist of it is, it's about the beauty found in brief moments that you want more of but doesn't linger too long .

A whale surfaces for air in sunset and admires the light reflected on the waters, but the whale is tethered to the ocean, it cannot stay and watch the sparkle for long, and the sun will have to sink. Whatever beauty is found is fleeting, the universe and the people go on, without ever pausing to care, time doesn't stop, but that moment existed and it's real and you are always asking for more but there isn't.

I think that sums up ItaJun quite well doesn't it?

I Really Want To Stay At Your house by Rosa Walton:

It's technically a break-up song, but it's also used as an OST after a person dies so it works. I am interpreting it as about being too little too late to help someone and desperately trying to fix things to being back the way they were.

The singer notices signs of their lover having problems, but they reminisce about better times, trying to bring their lover out of whatever is dragging them down by asking their point of view,asking to stay beside them, to leave behind whatever is eating at them. But it doesn't work. Reminded me of Yuuji and Junpei's talk at the riverside, and Yuuji going over to his place and for the briefest moment Junpei was reaching back.

Zukka

Untouchable by Taylor Swift

It's so on the nose. Untouchable because you're brighter than the sun? Oh yeah. The night and moon imagery are the Zukka staple imo. But I need to find another one T.Swift just irks me these days.

Moonlight by Johnald

This is more relevant to my fic. It's super angsty. The lyrics have absolutely no relation with Zukka but the vibes got to me. It's about the despair the singer feels but finding hope and moments if goodness in their lover. Feels very Zuko POV of Sokka.

I Don't Dance from High School Musical

Chad and Ryan are just a Zukka AU.

Super cute, it's a duet but the main version is singular and its like "I don't like you because you're cool, you're cool because I like you ". Also there's another line about hiw the oerson they like is super cool in front of others bur becomes a total sap around little dogs. THAT'S AKASHI. It's so 2nd year AkaFuri. Also "I wanna see you on weekends and fall asleep on the phone with you" is every AkaFuri fic ever.

Akashi POV no doubt. AkaFuri gives such "The Song Of Achilles" Patrochilles vibe. Akashi being afraid of falling in love, hating the weakness it brings not because of himself but because his father won't approve. Although ji wanna say Furi's probably a lot more self-possesed than TSOA Patroclus.

so I know i don't post a lot about TSOA on this but I require ASSISTANCE, like I am BEGGING YOU

I need to find a fic on AO3

Patrochilles, set in America (san Francisco i think...?) high school AU

I don't remember a lot about the plot- but.. I remember Odysseus (a teacher) and Penelope (headmistress?) were involved in the story and possibly polyamorous?? (idky I think that but yeah)

Anyway, there's like a prank by someone at some point on Pat?? to do with his locker? and stuff happens

there's a basketball team and Menelaus as coach (I think) and there's a lot of stuff about Track races and Achillies being amazing and pat joining in and actually being not bad

Polyxena and Deidamia have roles in the story too

At one point Pat and Achillies go to Pat's apartment to do homework and things get slightly spicy

God that was a mess of an explanation.. but it was a while ago and it was really good and I NEED to find it

a/n: denial fic for the ending of tsoa which i will never get over smh. anyway i love these idiots even when they make me ugly cry at three in the morning plus it's pride month so here we go

warnings: no angst just some good old fashioned (lover boy!) tooth rotting fluff

alright

these two idiots are so cute

the it couple of the school

they meet during detention

patroclus is there because he got in a fight with some of the seniors because he's small boi™ which unfortunately also means the he gets picked on a lot

achilles shows up because of a whole bunch of late assignments

patroclus is just there with an adorable glare on his face with his hair all mussed up and a scrunched up nose

achilles instantly falls in love

and then it turns out they have almost all their classes together

patroclus starts seeing him everywhere

in hallways

in classes

in detention

everywhere

secretly, patroclus kinda likes him too

achilles is one of the popular kids and patroclus is a social hermit

and then one day at lunch, achilles is just sitting at one of the tables with his gathering of weird popular people who patroclus definitely doesn't want to associate with

and then achilles calls to him to join them

patroclus is frozen

this cool kid who he might have a teensy crush on is inviting him to eat lunch with him

poor boy is so confused

he's like ???

but he joins him anyway

achilles jokes around with him

and patroclus is trying to keep down his growing blush

the tips of his ears are bright red

don't come at me patroclus definitely has the weasley ear blush™

and achilles definitely notices but he doesn't say a thing

the little shit is like that

anyways

after lunch, they both have history together and walk to class together

the teacher assigns a project

yes that is so cliche but screw it these babies deserve it

obviously, patroclus and achilles are partners

they exchange numbers

they work on the project at each other's houses

they meet up everywhere

the crush grows

there's little touches

little glances

but they're both too scared to say anything

eventually, achilles asks him out

patroclus says yes

they go on a few dates

then prom comes around

and boy oh boy does achilles have something planned out

the week before prom, achilles texts patroclus to come to school early

patroclus, being the oblivious idiot he is doesn't know what's going on

but he agrees anyways

achilles goes full out

he's been planning this for weeks

half the school is in on it

he has students armed with confetti bombs hidden in the bushes

more are caroling people away from the area so patroclus and achilles won't be bothered

he has flowers

he has a giant teddy bear

and then patroclus walks into the courtyard

still clueless

achilles asks him to prom

the expression on patroclus's face is so cute he almost falls over

patroclus says yes

confetti is flying in the air

they kiss

the entire student body cheers

Achilles and Patroclus have been in a relationship since the wedding, and now they’re nearing the end of their senior year. With prom right around the corner, they take advantage of a unique opportunity to let their competitive spirits break loose.

The sequel to “the more things seem to change (the more they stay the same),” featuring everyone’s favorite characters from the Olympian family, as well as some new friends and asshole seagulls we meet along the way!

(Note: Reading the first fic is suggested but not necessary.)

Happy birthday to "the more things seem to change (the more they stay the same"! Exactly one year later, I've finally gotten around to the sequel. I've been having so much fun with this series, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.

High School AU where Patroclus is the cute water boy and team manager for track and Achilles just always needs water. Like. That boy drinks an insane amount of water. But really it’s just an excuse to get close to Patroclus and flirt and eventually ask him on a date with some sort of dumb water pun. “Hey, Patroclus, do you like water?” And Pat would be like “Uh...I guess...” and Achilles would grin and be like “That means you like about 70% of me! Let’s go on a date and make that 100%?” and patroclus, being the science kid that he is, blushes and grumbles how Achilles got the percentage wrong but concedes to the date.

I wish it was possible to filter out keywords on this site like for any other search (beyond tumblr saviour), because it’d be really nice to be able to go into the iliad and achilles tags and be able to filter out all the TSOA stuff, like, that’s cool if you’re into that stuff, but like, it’s 99% of those tags, and it’s especially irksome if I’m looking for Iliad-specific stuff in its own damn tag.

hey everybody so I’m finally catching up on Not Homer’s Iliad which is my friend @hunnynutqueerio‘s book-in-progress and I wanted to shout it out again because it’s very!! very!! good!! it’s 100,000+ words of cleverly written high school au Iliad from patroclus’ perspective (à la TSOA but it’s different), lucy is a fantastic writer who is endlessly entertaining and very talented and also one of my dearest/closest friends so please go read it if you haven’t already (or if you already have, read it again!) because it’s what she deserves!!!

When Achilles asks Patroclus to be his date for his rich, eccentric great-uncle’s seventh wedding, Patroclus can see the rationale––they’re best friends, and they’ve been inseparable for years. It's intended as a small favor.

There’s one catch, though: It’s all fake. But Patroclus is actually in love with Achilles, and this very well may kill him.

A Californian, fake-dating, modern high school AU in which Patroclus deals with Achilles’s crazy family and barely survives his not-so-unrequited feelings.
