It's been pretty cold here, off and on lately, but it's summer in my game. I noticed a real lack of shorts for kids and I decided to do something about it. I meant to put "part 1" in the image above, because there will definitely be more Shorts For The Short someday. Maybe even someday soon.
Because this is a fairly long post, if you just want the stuff and don't care what all of it looks like, you can get the whole thing right now. (Or you can pick and choose at the bottom of the post. Way, way down.)

If you wanna know more first...
There are two meshes here, in a ton of colors. Both have the Freetime flip-flops, including some recolors by me.
First up is an age conversion of Skittles' 4t2 BGShortsLoose.
I resized these UF sleep shorts for CU and added flip-flops. They have a fat morph and are Everyday only. Available in EAxis textures as well as some by me and a bunch more by @pixelunivairse (TS4 post here).
These shorts sit right at the meshed waist. They should work well with tucked and untucked tops, but the looser legs might clip through longer untucked shirts.

I also added the FT flip-flops to Skittles' First Fits Kit shorts.
I tweaked the mesh a little (smooth seams, etc), as usual. They're also CU Everyday only, with a fat morph. EAxis textures (extracted from @its-adrienpastel's age conversion, because I don't have the kit), the patterned textures from @pluto-sims Colour Of Magic TS4 recolor set, and a bunch more by Standardheld/Ladyfu.
This mesh sits "outside" of the EAxis waist. (So does Skittles' mesh.) These shorts work best with nude mesh or very loose tops.

exactly what it says on the tin title! after watching @skittlesplays manually resize hundreds of recolor files on stream (and trying to do it myself...), i decided that the only solution when it comes to editing textures for ts2 was... photoshop! here are 9 photoshop actions geared towards 4t2 conversions, but hey, maybe you could use them for other stuff too 💖
i made these for personal use and have been using them on and off for the last few months, so i suppose you could say they've been sufficiently tested... the actions included aren't final though, i might go back and add a few more as my areas of expertise expand 😅 more info and instructions under the cut, long post warning! 👇🏽

How to Install These Actions
open up photoshop and click on the big 'play' button in the corner. that's the actions tab. then click on the little down arrow and 4 lines in the corner of that subwindow.
select 'load actions' from the list, and navigate to wherever you've installed my .atn file! then that's it, you've got them installed, easy-peasy.
How to Use These Actions (1 at a Time)
open up the texture that you want to edit in photoshop; for this example i'm using a dress i'm 4t2'ing from the throwback fit kit. now it's time to decide which action you're gonna use to make this texture compatible with ts2!
as the texture is 1024 x 2048, i'm gonna use the 'texture clothing: 1024x2048 to 1024x1024' action to downsize it.
ta-da! now it's a reasonable size!
How to Use These Actions (Dozens at a Time)
now for what this set was really made for: editing a ton of textures at a time! just go to file -> automate -> batch...
and navigate to the textures you'd like to batch-edit. here's a few things you should probably keep in mind:
- checking 'include all subfolders' will edit ALL the textures from that filepath onwards.
- if you set your destination as 'save and close' as pictured, all your files will be autosaved after the action has been run.
- so if you don't want to live on the edge, like me, and are afraid of running the wrong action, just open up one of the files you're batch-editing and check which action should be run on it before you do the other files.
and behold! all of my textures have been cut down, and a bunch of my time saved 😎
Examples of Stuff Each Action Can Be Used For
in case you were curious! the first two actions, i mainly use for objects. a lot of ts4 cc creators have their texture sizes set to 2048x2048 or even more, which is way more than (my) ts2 can normally handle. i mean, that much for a candle? geez! so these two actions are used to cut down those textures and not kill your graphics cards.
these are for cas stuff, like clothing, hairs, and accessories. alpha creators tend to have larger texture sizes, but ea's are almost always a cool 1024x2048. just make sure you check before you run the actions!
trim is... i honestly can't remember the last time i used trim, just... if you need it, it's there
the last two actions are for floors and walls! floors are set to autosave as .bmp; walls are up to you. the texture sizes are made to match homecrafter's.
and... that's about it! lol. i know this isn't normally what i post, but i figured that since a lot more people are getting into 4t2 converting recently, these actions might help y'all.

1. What’s your favourite sims death?
Old age. That's pretty much the only death in my game unless there's a rare accident. Plus, I love a tiki drink.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
Maxis match.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
No. In fact, I use mods that get rid of some of the weight related wants and fears. (And in TS3 a lot of my sims are fat.)
4. Do you use move objects?
So much.
5. Favorite mod?
Probably the one that lets kittens and puppies have coat patterns.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
What was the first TS expansion? Looks like it was Livin' Large? So that, I guess? Or maybe House Party? My sister got The Sims for xmas 2000, and Livin' Large was already out. Hmm. No idea. Too long ago!
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
Live mode. (Not live mode.)
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
She's long gone, but probably my first TS2 sim. Her name was Annette something, I think. I also really liked Arthur Broadback, the partner I made for Cassandra. He's gone too now.
9. Have you made a simself?
Yep. She's one of my models, modeling AF fat morph clothes, but only ones I'd wear. I used to have a sim whose name was Ramona who was kinda me. Her name was an anagram of my deadname (first and last).
10. What sim traits do you give yourself?
Sims 2, so no traits. I think Ramona was a Romance sim. Sloppy, outgoing, lazy, kinda playful, kinda nice.
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?
In TS2 they're all kinda bleh. Black, I guess?
12. Favorite EA hair?
I mostly use CC hair.
13. Favorite life stage?
Hmmm.....Young Adult maybe? It's when I figure out their personalities.
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
Gameplay. No contest. I have to make myself decorate.
15. Are you a CC creator?
Off and on, though steadily on for 2-ish years lately.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?
Kinda? I'm bad at keeping in touch and perpetually too stressed to be a good friend. 😕 But there are definitely people in the community who I like and who like me, and that's something I wish I had more energy for.
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)
2, it's not even close.
18. Do you have any sims merch?
Nah. I own too much stuff and I don't think there's sims merch that would fit my style.
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?
Nope.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?
I have no tolerance for photoskinned CC anymore. I used to have tons of it.
21. What’s your Origin ID?
Haha. Origin. No. I think I technically have an ID for it, but I have no idea what it might be. I don't use it.
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?
@deedee-sims, and I think she knows it. 😉
23. How long have you had a simblr?
Just over two years, but I missed the anniversary in March.
24. How do you edit your pictures?
Minimally? I use GIMP and pretty much just crop them.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?
As far as TS4 stuff that will get converted? I'm kinda anticipating the goth kit they sorta teased. More stuff for children and younger would be nice too.

All TS2 EP's add something that feels vital, but....hmm....Nightlife? The attraction system really made the relationships feel more complex. Which one added secondary aspirations? That one is a strong contender too.
