This has been bugging me for a long time but I finally figured out the foreshadowing here—

It explains that Roman didn’t leave just because he felt ganged up on, betrayed or made fun of in SvS Redux—

He left mostly because he felt guilty. He feels like he didn’t do his job well enough—

I think this is probably not a new revelation but I think banter about it gets buried in the idea that no one seems to be on Roman’s side about his feelings towards Janus, or about Patton’s sudden ‘allegiance change’. I think those are fair points but I also think that Roman is heavily disappointed in himself for letting c!Thomas get so far off the rails that Thomas starts choosing alternate (less honourable) approaches to his decision-making (Janus). This is why Roman mentions his ‘mistakes’ in Flirting With Social Anxiety.

Also this is why Virgil is pissed about Thomas’ decisions in that video too. Thomas can’t keep lying to begin a new relationship with a new guy. Fortunately however, c!Thomas is spared having make an excuse (a lie) to approach Nico, because Nico approaches him instead.

Anyway, Roman needs a genuine win soon or I’m gonna explode 😃❤️

Leander

Either an orphan or his parents were in the Senobium

Either way, his scars came from them

His high magic potential was found by his parents and the Senobium ‘trained’ him

Which had him isolated and wanting more than what he got

Only really got out due to being charming + hellbent on breaking every rule

So used to hostility he almost can't remember anyone being kind to him without a biting comment

Ais

Ais lowkey doesn't want people coming to the seaspring for a miracle

His dialogue is vague enough to where you’ll miss it

But it's a subtle way of him turning people away

Doesn't happen often but only to those truly desperate

An animal lover all around, particularly fond of creatures many people don’t like

Animals also seem to like him too

Ais made a deal with the Seaspring but he prob resisted the onslaught of the groupmind

Which is a constant mental battle he prob doesn’t like thinking about much, hence fighting and dislike of isolation

Also has the slightest fondness for children

Does not go around approaching them, pre sure most are scared of him

But the brave ones he can't help but smirk at

Doesn’t talk much but lovessss listening

Def has/had a crush on Kuras

Kuras

Kuras has some connection to what happened to Leander and def feels bad about it

Like they have to have some connection, and either Leander doesn't remember correctly or Kuras did something

Was Kuras Leander’s guardian and failed him?

And had him reborn but that got him in trouble??

Or was that wayyyy before he even met Leander

Got their sweet tooth cuz of Kuras

They were walking and Kuras gave them some and they fell in love

Learned a lot of what they liked from traveling and Kuras

Looked so awkward and gangly when they were younger

lover, paper rings,

champagne problems,

Today I was thinking about how the dark sides are represented as ‘villains’ because c!Thomas thinks that that side of himself is reprehensible. Like he sees completely in black and white. And because of this, any thought or action that comes from that side is immediately villainized, to the point where they act and even look like cartoon villains.

His point of reference for ‘bad guys’ has always been from his experience with the media he consumes, like cartoons or video games. It’s actually an immature way of looking at himself.

I get the wanting to separate good from bad, and this works for the big moral yes or no questions. But there gets to be a point where we grow up and realize that most instances in our lives have shades of grey answers, which is actually why Janus and Remus are there. We eventually just accept those sides of ourselves as part of us.

And eventually, they become more mellow and we realize they’re just there for self preservation. It’s not selfish to look after yourself if you have to lie about something. We’re not bad because we have intrusive thoughts. Being bothered by them literally shows us what NOT to do. In their way, they are a form of moral compass.

Neither sides are there to make him comfortable, but being comfortable leaves you vulnerable when you need protection. So Janus and Remus aren’t great sides but they aren’t ‘villains’ either, as Thomas sees them. They deserve acceptance just as much as Virgil does, because, like Virgil, they’re working to protect Thomas just as much.

Or more specifically, the Senobium….

Does anyone else get the feeling either Eridia itself or at the least, the Senobium will implode/explode/etc. ?

Like think about it, who knows how long the Senobium has been around, gathering knowledge, experiments, collecting, etc.

At some point, that’ll all blow up in everyone’s face and MC is somehow the catalyst for it. And everyone will be running like a headless chicken doing damage control or fending for themself

Like Mhin could help you break in but there’d be something you take (as the hound) or something.

Be it Kuras in his weird deal with the Senobium and you helping (as the alchemist) or Ais in a roundabout way to protect his turf.

Hell, even Ocudeus just breaking through Eridia to consume the world would be a spectacle. (As the unnamed)
