Vampire
Vampires, mysterious and bewitching creatures, have captured the popular imagination for centuries. Vampire stories have been told through books, movies, and TV series. But where does this fascination for these supernatural beings come from?
Vampires are often depicted as immortal beings that feed on blood to survive. They have superhuman abilities, such as superhuman strength and speed, as well as the ability to transform into a bat or a mist. They are often described as incredibly beautiful and charming, which makes them even more attractive. The first mention of vampires dates back to ancient times, where myths and legends speak of creatures that feed on blood. However, the modern depiction of vampires as we know them today was popularized by Bram Stoker's gothic novel Dracula, published in 1897. Since then, works of fiction like Twilight or The Vampire Diaries have added their own twist. to vampire mythology.
But why are vampires so fascinating to us? Perhaps it is their status as outsiders, pariahs of society. Vampires are often portrayed as being apart, not being able to fully fit into human society. It can be a metaphor for people who feel out of step with the rest of society, who feel alone and misunderstood. Additionally, vampires are often portrayed as having an irresistible charm. They can be dangerous, but their allure is hard to ignore. It can be a metaphor for toxic relationships in real life, where a person can be attracted to someone who is harmful to them.
Finally, vampires often represent temptation and seduction. They are often associated with sexuality, with their bite being compared to a kind of sexual relationship. It can be a metaphor for temptation in general, such as the desire to engage in dangerous or taboo behaviors. Sure, vampires aren't real, but their fascination is real. They continue to capture our imaginations and send chills down our spines. Whether you've been a lifelong fan of vampires or have just discovered their bewitching world, it's clear that these supernatural creatures will continue to haunt our imaginations for years to come.

Trigger Warning— Incest & Sexual Assault Mention
So Wes Craven’s 1977 horror movie was inspired by a potentially true story of a family of incestuous cannibals that supposedly lived in the Scottish countryside. Which is kinda yikes cause it sounds almost plausible.
The main difference between the two is that Craven’s movie is set in the S. Western desert of the US in New Mexico, I think. The film was remade, however, in 2006 and popularized shock value in horror movies. In fact, critics called it the most shocking movie of that year.
In the remake, the disabilities and deformities the cannibals suffer from are the results of the testing of nuclear bombs by the US government. The director, Alexandre Aje, said they based the characters’ appearances off of photos of people who suffered from radiation poisoning cause by the bombing of Hiroshima. These are the trailers for the both films (original and remake).
Just heads up in case you decide to watch this movie, it does feature animal death on top of the other stuff mentioned. Its a legitimately frightening movie but also extremely triggering for some people and just all around a fucked up story.
