Kailasa Temple
It cannot be declared as one of the best wonders of the world on the basis of this but no one can deny the belief of Kailash temple in Ellora. The cave temple of Ellora at a distance of about 30 kms in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra is the world's largest. It is believed that the Kailash temple at Ellora bears similarities to the Virupaksha temple in northern Karnataka. The Kailasa Temple is one of the temples and monasteries of the Solvaes Cave and Temple that form the giant Ellora Caves. According to historical records, it was built between the 8th century Rashtrakuta king and 773 AD. Apart from this the non-Rashtrakuta style temples located nearby show the participation of Pallava and Chalukya artists. It is believed that the architecture of Virupaksha temple contributed to the construction of Kailash temple. And given that the architectural cars were already designed and modeled, it took less effort to build such a large temple during the emperor's lifetime.
