Hello! I'm a big fan of your “both Kings” series. You're currently my favourite author. I love the insight you give to both Ganondorf and Rauru. You're really incredible. I don't know If you have been asked this before, but, do you think that they had something even before the foundation of Hyrule? As a lot of people see them as spiteful exes. Maybe Rauru met Ganondorf in a visit to the desert and they had something like a "summer romance". I think that would be kinda cute, a little glimpse of light in their destructive situationship if you will, maybe a time they both remember with some nostalgia.

I have actually talked about this a bit before! Exes really is an intriguing take on them, and absolutely one the game would support inasmuch as it supports any kind of relationship between them other than "political nemeses," but I had wandered too far away from that idea to reverse course before I realized that it was so popular. And, honestly, it's not quite as suited to the story I want to tell about them. In addition to what I said in that other post, I think if I were telling the story of exes, I'd be telling a story where the tragedy or at least the tension comes from their differences: once, we had something in common, but we were driven too far apart, and even as we loathe each other we mourn what we once shared. But I'm more interested in tension that comes from their similarities, and I feel like what works a little better starting from a place of antagonism. We thought we were mortal enemies with nothing in common so why do our thought processes keep getting stuck on each other, why do we keep getting stuck on each other? If we are mortal enemies why do I feel like you're my equal?

Which isn't to say that a writer couldn't make that work! But it's not what I feel drawn to examining.

OKOK OK SO axyl goes to very great lengths to make sure it’ll be something great. He’s very detail oriented and a bit of a perfectionist so it’s gonna make sure to get every little thing as right as possible. I imagine by the time he ends up planning a date, it’s taken extensive note of the kinds of things and activities Chao Xin enjoys, but just to double down on it, he asks Mei Mei if she has any input on the matter since she knows Chao Xin really well, and Mei Mei is absolutely these two’s #1 wingman forever and always so she jumps at the opportunity to help. I think that Chao Xin, despite being a very social and energetic person, when it comes to actual intimate dates, would prefer a setting where they’re a little more private. I think in the end, Axyl ends up setting up a little secluded picnic under the stars for the two of them (fun fact that’s partially a reference to the first time I ever drew them together) with both his and Chao Xin’s favorite foods n everything and it’s very cute and sweet. They stress a lot about it the whole time they’re planning it and waiting for Chao Xin to arrive but all their worry melts away when ae sees the look on Chao Xin’s face as he approaches.

Chao Xin, for his part, when Axyl first asks him on this date, is very excited to see what they have in store, as usually he’s the one who plans their dates, and needless to say he absolutely MELTS when he sees what it’s put together. It’s just such a sweet and soft scene and he immediately explodes with affection for them and really enjoys all of it. He compliments them a ton for being able to set it all up and everything and is generally just very sweet towards them. They both really enjoy it the whole time through and Chao Xin makes sure to thoroughly express his appreciation the entire time <3

it was something like that , wasn't it ? a reason to smile and feel much more comfortable even within chaldea's cold and steely confines . ask him what he could have possibly spoken to an ancient king of the desert about , and daisuke wouldn't have had any initial idea , plainly overwhelmed . but little by little , it felt as if he was able to grow somewhat closer to the rider ; more as a man than mere subject and ruler , the boy hardly aware of any sorts of strict , ancient manners and expectations that could have been otherwise demanded between the two of them .

the idea of being underneath or beside him alone makes me feel safe . was ozymandias happier serving as something akin to a mentor or a hawkish , nesting father before acting as a cold and stern ruler ? kindness was proof of someone's heart , and even with dark's occasional goading and belligerence , not once had the pharaoh ever threatened the assassin with the likes of cruel punishment or even an immediate death . ozymandias , though rarely if ever first to approach , was nevertheless infinitely approachable in return . daisuke deeply appreciated it , and though the phantom servant himself was sure never to admit , he was positive that dark did as well .

The wings on ultimus (spelling?) gabriel, how did you come up with that and what do you think they feel like. I really love the purple and the way the clothes are changed to form around the wings. Do you think its easy to put on clothes with them?

Yea you have the spelling right, that's the universe/team he's set in in CoDZ

Idk how I came up with them, I guess I liked the way that some delicate things can be incredibly strong, like spider silk. So that's sort of why Gabe's wings are kinda see-through.

As for texture, I think they'd feel smooth and kinda soft? Kinda like this, I suppose:

As for the clothes, I really like the idea of things (clothing, anatomy of wings/tails/etc) to be functional/accurate.

I'm order for such a heavyset boy to be able to fly, he'd need some big wings that have plenty of support on the trunk of his body, hence why his wings take up such a large portion of his back.

The jacket was a little more of a challenge. I couldn't just cut holes in the jacket, the wings were far too large for that. The solution was to have the jacket be able to slide over the tops of the wings and then have the bottom flaps button into place. Gabe is also an incredibly warm individual (he's like a walking furnace ALL THE TIME), so any body heat he loses from uncovered skin doesn't really bother him.
