So I’ve been playing Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and the moment I realized you could fuse a shield to a Zonai cart and essentially skateboard I had to draw this!

an observation

the thing about people complaining that it's gatekeeping to say you should listen to goth/punk/emo music if you want to claim to be a part of the subculture is like. the bar literally could not be lower. you are just being asked to listen to the music of a music based subculture lmfao. and we want you to do it! we're actually begging you to!

the gate may look closed but it's unlocked and no ones fucking guarding it we're just suggesting that you open it and walk in instead of trying to vault yourself over the top or smth lmfao idk this metaphor got away from me

The more I think about it the more I’m angry on the Bad Kids’ behalf that no one has updated their info in the Legend Lore Spell yet. Like even completely disregarding all of Riz’s accomplishments (killed and partially ate Kalvaxus, live-streamed himself and his friends fighting in the nightmare forest, helped defeat the Night Yorb as well as summon it) the fact that he’s only a subheading for the Night Yorb lore and the rest of the Bad Kids aren’t even mentioned in the same breath is objectively insane. At the very least he should link to Fig and Adaine’s page

It all started shortly after he first rescued princess Zelda. When he was with her he always made sure he was well dressed and behaved politely, however while traveling they quickly noticed how often people failed to recognize him, even people he had extensively interacted with previously.

It wasn’t until he stumbled into a stable after fighting both a Lynel and Hinox, covered in sorts and his clothes torn up that he realized what was happening. The travelers at the stable were excited to see him, claiming he hadn’t been around in ages even though they had passed through just days before. They all thought he was 2 different people!

He shared this discovery with Zelda, and after a while of laughing over the whole thing, they decided to make a game of it. What are the most wildly different impressions Link can give someone without them realizing he’s the same person. And so when traveling with Zelda he was The Champion. He wore the tunic and the master sword clearly visible, was a silent sentinel against all danger. And when she sent him off on errands he would revert to his most feral self. Travelers will see him through a bomb in a river, and then eat the dead fish raw, all while wearing a vai outfit and a moblin mask. Of course they never connect the dots.

When Zelda disappeared again he did everything he could to hold onto hope, needed to believe he would see her again. And so he decided to give her a gift, the greatest prank he could: he would save Zelda and Hyrule again, all without anyone realizing he was the chosen Hero.

Everyone is saying Link has Tony Hawk Syndrome, but I’d compare him more to Clark Kent since nobody recognizes him AND he works for a newspaper.

A Royal Retreat

A decade after the Upheaval, a shopkeeper has a few unexpected guests...

Cambo leaned against the wall of his store, occasionally calling out to passersby. “Fresh food! Hylian rice, Tabantha wheat, Hateno cheese! All at low prices! I also sell arrows and tunics! I’ll buy your stuff too! C’mon, buy something, will ya?” No one stopped, and he sighed deeply. Gah. Business has been crap ever since I moved my business from Lookout Landing. Castle Town has way too much competition. Maybe I should go a bit south, set up business around Tarrey Town. He looked up at the new castle, built over the ruins of Akkala Citadel. Still, it is nice seeing the Queen and Princess Sonia every so often. Wonder why the king never accompanies her, though. Maybe he’s shy. He chuckled at the thought. The king had slain the Demon King Ganondorf and fought back the Calamity!  Why would he be shy? “Um, excuse me sir.” Cambo looked up from his half-dozing state. A lithe man with dirty blonde hair was standing in front of him, an awkward smile on his face. “I see you have a good selection of food! Are you open?” “Oh, yeah! Sure! Take a look! Everything you see is on sale.” Cambo put on his best merchant’s smile as they headed into the store. “I recommend the Hateno Cheese! Have you ever tried it, young man?” “Oh, yeah. I’m from Hateno, actually!” The man chuckled lightly. “And I’m not that young anymore– I’m thirty five!” He pointed out a few items, looking over the selection. “I’ll have a bundle of Hylian tomatoes, Hateno cheese, Goron spice, Tabintha wheat…” He began loading the items on the countertop. This little guy’s making my MONTH! Cambo thought with a grin. All the stuff he’s buying is gonna put me back in the black! “Hmm… will that be all, sir?” He asked, delighted. “Yeah, tha– hold on, you sell jewelry too?” The man suddenly caught a glimpse of the gem studded items off to the side. “Is this Gerudo made?” “Very good eye! My wife is a Gerudo, so she picks up items from their jeweler to sell here! Have anything in mind?” Cambo was now seeing rupees dance in his vision. “Yeah! It’s my wife’s birthday tomorrow, and she would LOVE this pendant!” The man grinned widely, adding the pendant to the items. “Same birthday as the queen’s, huh? I bet she’s a little jealous of all the attention Queen Zelda gets!” Cambo laughed good naturedly. The man shot him a strange look before laughing himself. “She likes small scale celebrations, so we usually have our celebration the day before anyway. Besides, our little one has the day off of school for the national holiday, so we can stay up late if we want.” Read the rest on AO3!
