I keep dreading refreshing my dash bc I’m scared it’s going to update to the new one

#seriously like #what the fuck is the point of the buttons being on the side #it takes up so much space #there's a few blogs that are staff run and the one I check (cyle) basically goes over wtf is going on #is it patronizing? yeah #the tone isn't great #but please use the feedback forms to let them know that we're not about this #and BE SPECIFIC #I still have a sinking feeling that they're not going to change this #because there's this underlying tone of 'we know better than our users do'#I hope I'm wrong #but I've got a bad feeling about this #melody rambles

I appreciate ZYX's struggle between wanting to bring all their favorite bops to ancient fantasy china without being a plagiarist. Like I'd feel bad! But also am I supposed to never sing or listen to these bangers again? It's impossible

both yes, skeevy on the plagarism bc it's just intellectually dishonest and they really fucking care

and another point: some bops and bangers don't have the same oomph to them when transcribed and covered without the right language and instruments, and to believe there's equivalence is to not appreciate that song for what it is. zyx is very much a nitpicky "do it right or don't fucking do it"

#poem #poetry #song #see when i do just poetry its full of all kinds of complicated rhyme schemes and word play and stuff #but when i write a SONG song it's more about mood and tone and melody and the lyrics are usually simpler to support not distract #so for me this feels like a little embarrassing to post as a poem #because it's missing 2/3 of what makes it good #and lacks all the bells and whistles i'd normally put on a poem #but since i can't write sheet music use a music program play an instrument nor sing very well #i never know what else to do BUT post them as poems :P
