There’s a lot of interesting parallels between Yue and Toph’s circumstances, now that I’m thinking about it. They were both children born to privileged families who would have been regarded as more fragile than their peers, and treated that way as a result. Comparing the two is also interesting, because Toph’s situation led to her becoming fiercely independent and rejecting (at first) the community around her, whereas Yue became more deeply enmeshed with that community, striving to give back in whatever ways she could.

I’m not convinced Baxter Stockman is dead. No way they killed him off that early in the movie. Theres probably gonna be a plot twist that he’s alive somewhere as a brain in a jar.

Probably a massive jump but I’d like to see MM’s take on Renet. I really like her character and I think she’d be a great addition to the cast.

Maybe Karai?? We know Shredder is coming so them meeting Karai could be a good way to start bringing in the Foot Clan into the story. She could be a student going to their school who’s undercover secretly getting info for Shredder. Also maybe instead of April x Casey they do April x Karai 👀

So I don't really make a lot of posts for my tmnt iteration where it's just only text, since I mostly prefer to show my iteration through my drawings. But, I figured I might as well do this so you guys get to know a bit about the main characters that are going to be part of my story, so here we go!

Character Summary List:

The Boiz:

Leonardo: Leader in Blue. Centered arc is the first arc.

Raphael: Big and red and always ready for a fight. Centered arc is Yokai Uprising Arc

Michaelangelo: Orange and one of a kind. Centered arc is City at War Arc

Donatello: Purple and rocks machines. Centered arc is Galactic Frontier Arc

Other Main Characters:

Splinter: The turtles' rat sensei/father. Is Hamato Yoshi and has a tragic family backstory.

April O'Neil: The turtles' first best friend since they were kids. Currently a college student. Is besties with Donnie.

Casey Jones: The turtles' second best friend (Raph meets them first when they were younger, then the others during the present). Hockey player and vigilante. Has a dorky crush on April. Is besties with Raph.

Keno: The turtles' third best friend. High school student who works part time at his family owned pizza place and is badass at martial arts. Is besties with Mikey.

Metalhead: A turtle robot created by Donnie to assist the turtles through medical needs. Eventually, with Donnie's programming, they gain some sentient and becomes more willing to help out the team in any way they can.

The Mighty Mutanimals:

Old Hob: A mutant cat from TCRI, who originally started the gang. Once had a thing against humans due to being experimented on by them, but now wants to help protect the city and his friends.

Slash: A giant mutant spiked sea turtle from TCRI, who was overmutated from an ooze explosion. He started as a frenzied monster, but is soon healed by Dr. Rockwell. He leads the Mighty Mutanimals.

Leatherhead: A mutant alligator from TCRI

Mondo Gecko: A mutant gecko from TCRI

Dr. Rockwell: A mutant monkey. Was originally a human scientist who worked alongside Stockman at TCRI, but experiments went wrong in where he got turned into a monkey, (but he seems unphased with that situation ig lmao)

(And in short, they are all very close friends with Mikey)

Foot Clan:

Shredder: Leader of the Foot. Is responsible for the death of Yoshi's family. Main antagonist of the first arc.

Karai: Shredder's adoptive daughter. One of the members of the Foot Elite (Is viewed as the weakest Foot Elite, even Shredder views this). Is frenemies with Leo.

Tatsu (AKA: Tiger Claw): A mutant tiger who was originally human. Leader of the Foot Elite and is second-in-command of the Foot

Chris Bradford (AKA: Rahzar): A mutant wolf who was originally human. Member of the Foot Elite and is in charge of taking care of the new and upcoming recruits. He also becomes a better father figure for Karai.

Bebop: A mutant warthog who was originally human. Besties with Rocksteady.

Rocksteady: A mutant rhino who was originally human. Besties with Bebop.

Jennika: A mutant turtle who was originally human. She was the youngest member of the Foot Elite (is actually better than Karai).

Outer Space:

Fugitoid: A robot who was once a scientist but got his mind transfered to a robot. Is the one who originally formed the rebellion against the Triceraton Empire.

Mona Lisa: An alien salamander who is a gladiator fighter in the Triceraton Arena. She helps Donnie with his survival and skills in fighting in the arena.

Tokka: An alien turtle who decides to tag along the turtles' adventure.

Traximus: A triceraton guard who is secretly working with Fugitoid in the fight against the Triceraton Empire. He helps Donnie in finding a way to escape, as well as a way to take down the Triceratons' planet buster weapon that they have abused its power with.

Emperor Zanramon: Leader of the Triceraton Empire. Main antagonist of Galactic Frontier Arc.

Captain Mozar: Second-in-command of the Triceraton Empire.

Hidden City:

Baron Draxum: A goat yokai who is the leader of the Hidden City. Main antagonist of the Yokai Uprising Arc.

Huginn and Muninn: Baron Draxum's loyal pets.

Koya: A falcon yokai who is the general of the yokai army.

Miyamoto Usagi: A rabbit yokai who was formerly a warrior for Baron Draxum. He then helps the turtles in taking down Baron Draxum.

Alopex: A fox yokai who is the leader of the yokai rebellion.

Venus: A mutant turtle. Was created by Baron Draxum as a weapon against the turtles.

The Pantheon:

Kitsune: A fox yokai who is the eldest of the Pantheon. She is known for her variety of mystic powers and tricks. She is first seen in the Shredder Arc, where she is Shredder's right hand other than Tatsu. She is then seen again in the Yokai Uprising Arc, where she is Draxum's right hand.

Tengu: An eagle yokai who is the second eldest of the Pantheon. He is known for his mystic powers in weather-like abilities (thunder, earthquakes, etc.). He takes his duties more seriously.

Bakeneko: A cat yokai who is the youngest of the Pantheon. They are known for shapeshifting and playing with fire. They are very mischievous.

Nure-onna: A snake yokai who is the second youngest of the Pantheon. She is known for her deadly poison and cataclysmic powers yes this is based off of Cat Noir, shut up. She is very scary.

Sarugami: A monkey yokai who is the middle sibling of the Pantheon. He is known for his immense strength. He does not speak at all.

Ryujin: An all powerful and evil dragon who was banished to the Twilight Realm. He wishes to destroy the entire world and recreate it in his own image. Main antagonist of Dawn of the Pantheon Arc

Other Villains:

Krang: A powerful alien race who was banished to Dimension X. They wish to conquer the entire universe and remake it in their image. Main antagonist of Zero Hour Arc.

Baxter Stockman: A mad scientist who works at the TCRI.

Bishop: A special agent of the US government and head of the EPF. Main antagonist of City at War Arc.

Hun: A crime boss who is the leader of the Purple Dragons.

Rat King: A mad man who can not only control the rats, BUT ALSO MUTANTS! Main antagonist of Mutant Madness Arc.

What are your favorite Beifong family headcanons?

Oooh that's a great ask. I have a lot of headcanons and I'm pretty sure I've talked about them a lot at least a few times, but I've tried to condense them as best I could!

I've rambled about my headcanons surrounding seismic sense but here's some more. The twins and Huan learnt seismic sense very early on in their lives and were provably encouraged to lean into it. Huan particularly has very well developed seismic sense. To the point where it makes him uncomfortable and he tends to shy away from using it by wearing thick socks or shoes.

When Kuvira first arrived to Zaofu, she didn't really get along with Baatar Jr. I can see Baatar Jr being very protective of Opal, since they were the two nonbenders of the family. I can see him not looking too kindly at whom he saw as his mother's attempt at having a "better daughter".

Kuvira and the twins are permanent parts of Suyin's dance troupe. (Canon for Kuvira.)

Due to not having much interaction with people outside the family, the Beifong kids are/were super close. Which leads to even more pain as they slowly untangle and mature.

They were also very close with the staff that worked at the manor and other of their family friends, due to this being their only social interactions outside family. Aiwei and the Chef (he only calls himself chef and never reveals his real name cause he used to be a pirate and is wanted in all four nations) are basically surrogate uncles to the kids.

It having been just the six of them, i can see it being hard for them to fully interact with new people.

Huan wanted to be a doctor as a kid and pretended to do operations on his siblings. Their father, a renown architect, even built them a little play hospital. The other Beifongs... weren't fans.

Kuvira enjoys bubble baths. That's it.

Wei collects crystals and cool looking rocks, similairly to how Su collects meteors. He's a nerd about it too. He has several opals and whenever he's in an argument with Opal he will dramatically move them to the back of his collection.

One of my fave silly headcanons/theories is Baatar Sr being Suki and Sokka's kid. Like, I know it's very unlikely, but it is a lovely idea in my head and I could ramble about it all day. I don't see a lot of people talking about it. I see plenty of people using Suyin's sons looking like Sokka as proof that Su is a Tokka baby, however the Beifong boys actually resemble their father a lot. Also I have plenty headcanons around this idea and Suki would be an epic grandma. Kyoshi warrior Opal (and the twins). Living in my head rent free. Forever.

Wing and Opal formed a little book club and like reading together/talking about books they've read. Their siblings aren't allowed to join. One time Kuvira and Wei crashed the little meeting and Wing was so offended he pretended to run away and join the circus.

When they were children, Kuvira was the ringleader for sure. She'd take the much more well behaved Beifong kids on wild adventures, after which they'd come back to the house covered in mud.

Wing is hard if hearing. Comes from that one scene where he sent Lin and Su to their deaths after misshearing Mako.

Aiwei was the first one to encourage Huan to pursue his artistic talents and most of Huan's first works are still in Aiwei's house.

Wei is named after Aiwei, but they already had a Juniour in the family, so he was named an abbreviation of his namesake.

Aiwei ultimately regrets betraying the Beifongs, to teh point where his nightmares in the Fog of Lost souls are about the Beifongs.

Can't believe Zaheer sent the only confirmed gay man ever shown on screen to super hell. Homophobia at its finest

Ugh you don't know how happy getting asks about the Beifong family makes me. Sorry if these were more focused on the Zaofu crew, I know they're not as popular as Lin and Toph but they are my faves.

3. Jealousy issues?

I think maybe young-Toph might've been jealous of Suki, simply because she was teen with a crush on a guy she couldn't have. But once she and Sokka are actually a couple, she has no real trust issues. Even without her deception detection, she knows that Sokka is a loyal guy. Maybe lots of girls flirt with him, but I think she'd be more likely to laugh it off than get upset. 'He's mine, deal with it' *sticks her tongue out*

I could see Sokka being more likely to get jealous if someone else showed an interest in Toph, but it would be a very one-sided thing. I don't think Toph would do anything to make him *feel* jealous. She doesn't play games like that. Sokka's issue would be insecurity, not lack of trust.

8. Have an AU thought? (someone else asked this one so I'll copy/paste XD)

Most of my Tokka AUs involve them living happily ever after lol. As opposed to the doomed-canon-compliant-relationship path that I am also addicted to. I don't really have anything specific in the AU vein (like modern or things like that), but I do enjoy some good fluff where they figure their shit out and learn to communicate. Usually they have a few oopsie kids because they're animals >:)

10. How do they deal with the other’s family?

Lao and Poppy do not like Sokka. They're uppity elites and would probably be pretty racist towards a 'Water Tribe savage'. Sure, they can be civil if it doesn't matter, but him preventing their only daughter from marrying in their circle? Unforgivable. They stubbornly maintain that they could've 'rehabilitated' her into what they wanted, if only Sokka hadn't come along and ruined her.

Hakoda isn't *super* close to Toph (she hates going to the SWT) but has a good opinion of her and thinks she's a good match for Sokka. He knows Sokka needs a strong woman to keep his head on straight. And he's always known that Sokka would want bigger and better things than staying in the south pole his whole life, so it's no surprise to him that he would prefer to stay in Republic City for most of adulthood.

27. Who brings home an illegal pet?

While I feel like the obvious answer is Sokka, I think he'd be much more likely to get a pet as an impulse purchase after walking past a pet store.

But Toph...

One day, she raids the hideout of a triad member and finds a bunch of exotic animals. While waiting for animal control, she bonds with a particularly pitiful pygmy leopard fox with three legs. After telling it her troubles, she sneaks it out of the hideout.

Who's your favorite Beifong? And who do you ship them with?

First of all, I already love you to the 'yue' and back for this ♡ Ty, I'm virtually holding your hand rn!

"Who's your favorite Beifong?" Now that.. requires a huge @$$ long answer, babe! Grab a coffee and seat down. ☕️ — I have three different answers to this, organized by category, because I can't simply just choose one Beifong, so.. ◇ My favorite based on "emotional attachment" is definitely Suyin (kinda of an unpopular choice). I simply can't help but love every aspect of her, she's so beautiful, bright and collected - I love how against all odds she overcame her traumas the healthiest way she could, rebuilt her whole life, never gave up on reconnecting with the people she loved and missed after all, etc. I have an immense amount of respect for her - she's the personification of growth, maturity and forgiveness. And I love that for her for many reasons! Her adult self reminds me a bit of Sokka in a way, that probably helped to establish my "emotional attachment" towards her as well! ◇ My favorite based on "complexity and strength" would be obviously Lin. Lin is the character I validate and understand the most too, I enjoy analyzing her whole story and personality. I'm a Psychology student, so it makes sense to me that I loved her instantly and so much (apart from being a Toph seed), she was presented to us as the typical tough character ofc but I was amazed how many layers she turned out to have, how profound and complicated her traumas, choices and path turned out to be. I love and respect Lin for reasons that are completely different from Su (they are completely opposites). Lin's psychological strength (physical too, ofc), courage and endlessly emphaty always get me. I would fight anyone just to protect her! ◇ And of course, my number one girl.. Ultimate Favorite in the entire franchise.. the ORIGINAL Beifong; TOPH!! I don't even think I need to explain myself on this one, do I?? Everything I listed about her daughters comes from Toph Beifong and even her imperfections are kinda perfect to me, she is one of the most brilliant characters in the franchise hand down. In fact I believe their daughters inherited a lot of Toph's values, beliefs and characteristics. They are her legacy in a way, probably part of the reason I love them so much too. But anyways.

For Su; Suyin/Baatar Sr. ◇ For Lin; Linzin & Kyalin, maybe Linzumi too — I do think Lin & Tenzin are soulmates who could never be though (This is actually a can of worms, 'cause I have A LOT to say regarding this entire ship!). ◇ And for Toph; Tokka yesterday, Tokka today and Tokka for always!♡ I can't actually picture Toph with anyone else, for some reason. I tried (with her other love interests and all).. But It's just not it for me. Kanto we've never even seen & Satoru was more of a simp - nothing against it but it kills the mood for me that he's a fanboy who'd spend their whole relationship praising her & kissing the ground she steps on, not into that for Toph (or any human being) in a relationship. — While with Sokka (even tho it was just a childhood crush & he was a bit older) I think they were a perfect match for a future relationship; They were opposites in the right amount, but also pretty similar (in terms of sense of humor and some values). I love how they completed each other in their dynamic, how Sokka was so kind, supportive and understanding - they had a real profound bond and he was always offering to help her out (if needed) or trying to protect her, even tho she hated to be treated like that; he was her exception. And Toph genuinely respected him (jokes apart) & would consider his opinions, even embracing his stupid ideas. It was simple and sweet. Not to mention the fact that Sokka would never pick fights with her (not that I remember), whenever Katara would ask him to intervene in their fights he'd be like "Nah, leave me out of this" and I do think that that's what intrigued Toph, he would listen to her & validate her feelings since Day 1. Then we cut to TLOK; at Yakone's trial when Sokka is giving that sentenced speech and start praising Toph for developing the Metalbending skill by herself; his facial expression immediately changes to something more affectionate (genuinely smiling at her), then Old Toph telling Korra about when she taught Aang earthbending and feeling the need to mention what happened to Sokka that day (should've been insignificant, but she kept that memory from that day) and then Suyin & Lin's small details or characteristics that were related to Sokka in ATLA (Like their usage of adapted metal swords to fight, Su's collection of meteorites, how Sokka was always praising Toph for inventing the Metalbending and later Su building a whole city out of it where Toph's achievement would be praised and immortalized for once and all, not to mention Su & some members of the family looking like Sokka, I'm pretty sure that was purposely done by the creators in a way to keep Sokka's design, idk & it makes me the happiest that it was done in the Beifong family). It's impossible not to acknowledge the impact Sokka had on Toph, they truly loved each other and loved being around each other. Romantically or not, canon or not - it's impossible for me not to ship them.♡

Yokai and Humans live in a primitive world. The turtles are natural-born Kappas of different species. Yoshi is basically Spear, who lost his family to a Wild Rogue Kappa (Tokka), but instead of befriending Fang the T-Rex, he ends up adopting four baby Kappa.

And here is my take on the Boys’ biological fathers:

Some tidbit of info abt them:

- they’re all fighting Tokka to protect their mates and their nests.

- These Kappa raise their young communally. Even between different species.

- Red’s dad is the one with the most scars because he takes danger head-on more so than the others.

- Orange’s dad has the most scarred shell and plastron due to box turtles retreating in their shell, so predators often bite/scratch at the shell

Ignore my rambling, I'm just spitballing with little to no sleep..

So like, I'm on the last chapter of Beacon, right? All four boys are going to have their happy endings with their respective partners (that's not a spoiler its a fucking given, cuz its me. Someone's gotta give this fandom a little boost of serotonin now and then). The plan was to just write little stories from then on now that the relationships are pre established and I don't HAVE to worry about plot, I can just watch my babi's have fun and be happy. And yeah, i fully intend to do that. While also working on my actual career.

But no, see now I'm thinking of like, 10 more years down the line, when everyones in their midd 30's or so. Mutants are staaarting to become more normalized in society instead of just cryptid status and being hunted by the epf. The idea of the turtles (probably Donnie because of everything that happened with Don Vizioso) spearheading these mutant rights stuff alongside the mutanimals is so freakin interesting instead of them just staying in the shadows all thier lives? (because after the tokka incident its clear new york at least is aware that mutants are definetly a thing and not going away anytime soon.)

I wanna see these boys have their own families. And yeah, i know lil mutant babies and the next generation isn't a new thing for this fandom but honestly? I wanna take the found family trope the hamato clan lives by and crank it up. I want their kids to be a bunch of orphans they rescued that were abandoned for one reason or another, because they all fucking know what it's like to grow up ostracized in a society that doesn't want them. They take them all in as one big group but each kid gravitates to a couple as their parental figure of choice.

The guys in general would love thier kids sooo much, you don't even know. And Do you UNDERSTAND how GOOD Leo would be at being a dad!? And Usagi would finally get to be a dad too? like openly? And Jotaro would be the most AMAZING big brother! Like he'd be bringing them little presents from his side of the portal so much. By that point I like to think he'd know that Usagi is his true father. So now at 18/19 he's not only got a mom, THREE dads, a shit ton of aunts and uncles, and now a bunch of little rescue siblings to dote on? I want that for him.

I want this so muuuuch but I have no idea how to even begin and I don't know if people would even read it or want it as much as me but I also don't really care? But I also have real world responsibilities and my attention span can only handle so much at once before it short circuits and i just stare at the wall doin nothing..

How I feel about this character

I love her so much. She's one of my favorites in the series. Toph is the Strong Female Character trope actually done right. She has a complex family history and she (along with Mai) is the perfect, wonderfully written, surprisingly well done character who represents what I like to call "toxic filial piety". I say she's surprisingly well done because she's written by a Western team. So far she and Mai from the same show are the only accurate and fully fleshed characters written for a Western audience that I can think of that embody the complexities of filial piety, which is a concept that generally does not exist in the West. I could give honorable mentions to Azula and Zuko, but imo Toph and Mai...wow. Toph's problems with her family are particularly notable because they are all completely avoidable. They were done as a conscious choice.

I don't particularly ship Toph with anyone. She's free to go where she goes. Although, I do have a fondness for her and Sokka.

I'm not sure if this is unpopular or not, but I think she was right for wanting to reconcile with her parents, and I also think she was right for distancing herself from them even after the fact.

Glimpse of Raph’s future clone/son, Tokka!! Tokka is a map turtle (like his dad) and an alligator snapping turtle. Due to his mothers genes being unmutated, he’s more likely to react to things in an animalistic way. He also has heightened instincts that save his life often when he’s older. For now, he’s just a very big baby that loves to chirp at his family!
