My brain when I'm sleeping: let's make the most insanely elaborate world building in your dreams, have you have deep meaningful connections to entirely fictional people and plotlines that would make really rich and fascinating stories if you were able to put them in words once you're woken up.
My brain, once I'm woken up: you cannot put that in words, but I've given you the indescribable feeling of grieving a loss of something or someone that never really existed in the first place. Have a good day!

since there are still new people liking and reblogging my tally hall art/posts, old and new(ish), i figured i should make my stance clear. joe hawley has proven time and time again that he cannot be trusted to foster safe and appropriate interactions with his fans, especially those who are underage. and this is to say nothing of the extremely harmful and bigoted views he has repeatedly expressed surrounding race and gender.
any past art i have made of him or any appreciation i have for tally hall and their work does not include any support for him and his actions. in fact, it's more reason to condemn his behavior, for using the importance this band has to his underage audience to take advantage of them. i would advise any fans, minors or not, to take caution and avoid him, and to not put him up on a pedestal for the sake of others as well.

one thing that is always just, so peculiar to me, is the difference between how the media handled patrick's weight loss
i wasn't online back in 2011 so i don't really know how fans collectively responded, but it seems like the majority of fans have since looked at losing that much weight so fast and, to put it lightly, "implied/referenced eating disorder" feels like it's entered unofficial fall out boy lore
but the media. the media praised him, asked questions about how. the media wanted to talk about the weight loss more than the music.

i cannot recall a point in this life when "dante" did not chase after "vergil",
and i never wished for such a time to come.
nevertheless,
maybe after a bottle, or two, or twenty,
i stare out into that void,
i failed.
you fell.
my first, my last, my only.
and i drown everything alongside the hazy memories of our fleeting youth.

you know i think my love for all my villain/antihero blorbos can be summed up with "he's an absolute piece of shit but i love him in spite of it" and also "he's an absolute piece of shit and i love him because of it" and simultaneously "actually he's done nothing wrong ever in his life"

Since I haven't seen anyone say it I'm going to say it:
Start of Junior Year Kipperlily asks/hears about the dead god YES that Kristen made.
Lydia Barkrock shares that Bakur failed to bring Ankarna back because a god has to be resurrected specifically in a place that a god was born.
When Cassandra was disappeared/taken (?) the being that reached out to mock Kristen dropped YES's rotting corpse at her feet- imho, a clue for the PCs that YES is involved.
Whoever tries to resurrect Ankarna is going to be doing it wherever Kristen created YES, and Kipperlily is 100% involved.

"Would you care if people had sex at one of your places of worship, Melo? Since Heaven is usually seen as being full of prudes, what do you have to say to that, as their God of Divinity?"
Tumblr media
"I don't really have any places of worship these days, but I suppose I wouldn't have really cared, as long as they didn't make a mess of things. If it were one of my followers or disciples, that is. Even a friend or something."
"Someone random? I think I would be amused, but if it went on for too long, it would get old. Sort of a similar feeling to when you stay somewhere, and the couple in the next room is having sex while you're trying to sleep or something. I'd probably think something along the lines of 'hurry up and get on with it, or go home if you want to make a night of it', you know? And if they didn't leave, then I would mess with them until they left. If they get to have their fun, then I get to have mine; it's only fair."
"I do think I see the appeal though. Like having sex with the follower of another deity; sorry, but tonight I'll have them praising my name. They'll be worshipping me, not you."
Tumblr media
"As always, you have impeccable taste. Same sort of mood as when you're fucking a ruler or something like that."
Tumblr media
"Oh, I know exactly what you mean!"

There’s a lot of concern these days about the inability of some readers to separate depiction from endorsement (or biography!) in fiction, and I agree it’s troubling, but I experienced some relief during my reread of Stephen King’s memoir, On Writing, where he observes, of a story that opens with the villain killing a dog:
“If one is to measure success by reader response, the opening scene of The Dead Zone (my first number-one hardcover bestseller) was one of my most successful ever. Certainly it struck a raw nerve; I was deluged with letters, most of them protesting my outrageous cruelty to animals. I wrote back to these folks, pointing out the usual things: (a) Greg Stillson wasn’t real; (b) the dog wasn’t real; (c) I myself had never in my life put the boot to one of my pets, or anyone else’s. I also pointed out what might have been a little less obvious--it was important to establish, right up front, that Gregory Ammas Stillson was an extremely dangerous man...”
Some readers have always been pretty obtuse, it seems.
