Kai went from not caring about the Air Nomads to pulling a Lawrence Oates while escaping the Red Lotus and while a lot of it had to do with living in the culture, it was partially because of how important it was to Jinora.

He really went the extra mile with the "get into her hobbies" approach.

A kainora fic idea where a fallen aristocratic family from Ozai's time never got over the war, so eventually they make a comeback targeting air nomads as a revenge on Aang. Most air benders diverge for their safety and fight from the shadows. However, Jinora and the other direct descendants of Aang can't hide so easily with all eyes on them, considering they're rather well known. As a result, they must separate and travel constantly without a trace. Kai refuses to leave Jinora's side and promises to protect her while hiding the fact that he's an airbender too from the public.

The real MVP of this episode is the poor baby bison that had to carry five grown-ass people

Not me bursting into tears seeing Kai and Jinora flip open their airbending staff to fly and petting baby bison. God I wish Aang could see it. We always see Aang, alone, doing that stuff but just the sight of TWO kids flying on their staff makes me so emotional.

Jinora has had her tattoos since she was fourteen, but thanks to her dad's overprotectiveness, she hasn't been able to do much in the ways of helping the Air Nation. Now that she's eighteen, her dad has assigned her on her first real mission: to capture an airbending vigilante who has been harassing the Earth Kingdom for years. Perfectionist to a T and wanting to impress her dad, she goes into the mission with unstoppable determination, only to find out things aren't quite what they seem.

AU where Zaheer never gets airbending and Kai is a vigilante.

You know, even though they're hammering Kainora in a similar manner to Makkora/Makosami in which they're instantly jumping into the romantic angle instead of exploring a friendship between the two, it doesn't bug me nowhere nearly as much. Maybe its because it's being treated as more innocent puppy love along with there being no dumb romance drama with this pairing.

Kai is dying, and while Katara works to heal him, Tenzin and Jinora talk about expression, while Kai and a mysterious old man talk about place…

This is my FIRST EVER Legend of Korra fic and of course it doesn't star any of the fun characters lol

BUT YEAH I'm excited to write for Korra stuff! I'm hoping this story will develop into a larger Kainora fic down the line...but we'll see.
