you slept at tannyhill every night now.
it was commonplace to see you making breakfast in the kitchen, by the pool with sarah or inside watching some silly movie with wheezie. that was only sometimes though, since all your time was usually spent with rafe.
he liked having you around at tannyhill all the time—he thought it was cute. you wait for him to get back like a little housewife, looking pretty and pampered and tan, like he wants.
he doesn’t like waking you up early when he’s leaving for the day. you used to set your alarm to get up and drink coffee with him but he’s started turning it off—you don’t have any reason to be up that early.
sweet and always compliant, you do as he says, sleeping in. rafe presses a kiss to your forehead in the morning before he leaves, day filled with meetings and business things that he doesn’t always tell you about in detail. you just know that he’s gone.
“stoppin’ by barry’s and then the club with kelce. we’re playing golf with-” you listen to rafe while he puts on his watch and his rings, but you drift off half way through. you feel the warm press of his lips on your skin and the sound of him saying goodbye.
you’re not sure when it happened—you used to get up early and get ready for the day, filling your summer days with friends at the beach and your books by the pool and never going more than an hour alone. but now that you’re with rafe, it’s so easy to sit around and wait for him. you don’t even want to see anyone, you just want the hours to pass until he’s back.
maybe it’s not healthy. you don’t really care much even if it’s not.
you fall back asleep, and wake up when the sun is pouring in between rafe’s dark curtains. you stretch and debate going downstairs to eat something, but after brushing your teeth you crawl back into rafe’s bed. the sheets smell like him and you stare awfully long at the pillow he sleeps on. shifting the pillow to lay on it, you fall back asleep, not waking up until you hear the door to his room open.
rubbing your eyes, you glance up, hoping it’s not ward looking for him since you’re just in one of rafe’s shirts and nothing else, but the shape in front of you gets closer and clearer.
“what’s this? been in bed all day, kid?” you yawn again.
“what time is it?” you question, laying back down against rafe’s pillow.
“two in the afternoon.” he comes and sits by the edge, stroking your hair while you melt into his touch. “got any plans to get up today?” you shake your head.
“your bed’s comfy. and it smells like you.”
“that’s cute, kid. gotta get up eventually.”
“you’ll have to make me.”
“that can be arranged.” you giggle, lifting yourself up to give rafe a hug, head resting on his shoulder. "but i like you like this. don't have to lift a finger, do'ya?"
“no," you agree, nodding your head. maybe you could get used to this. "missed you.”
“i’m back now. nothin’ to miss.”
“i still do.” rafe presses another kiss to your forehead, and you nestle in further. “i could fall asleep like this.”
“yeah, no.” in one motion he scoops you up, placing you on your feet. you yelp in surprise, fighting against his grip.
"i'm still tired! i thought you wanted to spoil me, this isn't spo-"
“shut up. c’mon, we’re gonna go shower.” that shuts you up right away.
“okay,” you sing sweetly, suddenly compliant.
“yeah, i knew you'd get out of bed for some dick. little freak.”

Man, Time loves to do these really long NC scenes that serve zero purpose and literally do nothing but just... add sex time to the show. Why? I don't care about the heat level, it doesn't bother me by being high heat it bothers me by wasting time that could be part of the actual plot. But an extended dream sequence that's literally just schtupping to bland music? Why?

rafe’s phone goes off with a little noise, and he sets his laptop aside to find the device, buried beneath the sheets. when he picks it up, your name and the little emojis you had selected to put next to your contact light up the screen. there’s one concise text: are you up? can’t sleep
instead of texting back, he hits the call button and waits for it to ring. you answer within the first one, which is something of a habit when rafe calls you.
“hello?” you say quietly into the phone, trying your hardest to not make too much noise. everyone else in your house was still asleep.
“why’re you still up?” rafe asks, and though you know he’s not mad, just worried, he sounds mad.
“i told you, i can’t sleep. why are you still up?”
“i’m always up at this time.”
“that’s not good. doing what? are you with your other girl?” you laugh at your own joke, but you know rafe isn’t, since that’s his least favorite joke.
“shut up. what—did’ya have a coffee before bed? i said to quit that shit.”
“no!” you whine, louder than you realized. you go silent, hoping no one heard you. “it’s just one of those nights. and you’re not here, that doesn’t help.”
you expect some other comment from rafe, telling you to shut up and shut your eyes because he was busy with work and being proactive like he always is. you brace for it, already smiling. rafe is silent for longer than you thought he would be.
“i’m sorry, baby. i’ll be there tomorrow night, alrigh’?” your smile dissipates, shoulders sinking with an odd sense of relief and your body falling further into your warm bed. you don’t know why your eyes are watery—maybe because you didn’t think rafe would say something so sweet. your boyfriend is a lot of things—funny without trying, possessive to a fault, dominant to his bones—but he’s not always sweet like this.
“still there? or you finally fall asleep?”
“still here. sorry, rafe.” you yawn, the first one in hours.
“go to bed, kid. it’s too late to still be up.”
“i’ll sleep if you sleep.”
“m’not done with-”
“please,” you say softly, followed by another yawn.
“fine. but sleep, now. seriously. it’s two-fucking-thirty, got no reason to still be up.”
he mumbles some other stuff but you don’t catch it, getting comfortable and setting rafe on speaker with the quietest volume. you hear the unmistakable sound of rafe’s laptop closing, the switch of his lamp, the rustle of him getting under the covers. you close your eyes and imagine him staring up at the ceiling like you were just doing.
“ready, rafe?” you murmur, already half asleep.
“yeah, kid. goodnight.”
you’re out before you can even say goodnight back. rafe laughs at his phone, opening his laptop back up.

I mean... you know what, that first worry seems a lot bigger than you do? Especially since you're the one from the future trying to fix this and he's from the past and doesn't really need to believe you and has no reason to believe you.
Tumblr media
This is such a special show, y'all.
Tumblr media
Seriously a Very Special Show. What the fuck is this even? Why? And what? And does anyone care?
How did they make the host club so boring?
Oh, but apparently he might remember? Why? What? This show is nonsense, y'all.

The Fallout show is pretty fun so far. I still have 3 episodes to go. Everytime Lucy said "Okey dokey", this was all I could picture.
