#vs Athena being proud of her just for being her daughter

You know, I also want to rant about my anger of "girls are smart and take care of the boys" and "boys are annoyed at insufferable smart girls" trope but I think that's enough anger for one day.
I will say though, if someone pokes me about it later on, I may or may not actually remember to write an analysis of Hermione Granger from Harry Potter and Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson to delve into how and how not to write smart female characters.
Actually, damn I can't help myself:
Yes, I know I have a bias against JKR for her opinions in general (there are many I disagree with), but the way Hermione was handled and demeaned through the books and parts of the movies is so infuriating and blatantly sexist, and then comparing that with Annabeth who is only treated as mean because she was literally hostile to the main characters at first as a child of Athena to a child of Poseidon to gain her mother's attention and whose fatal flaw is pride is so clear. Because, despite being the same type of trope, she was still was respected by Percy and Grover the entire time rather than be othered for no other reason besides being a "stuck up know it all" as a girl who likes books and is smart and that was it, then constantly the butt of Ron and Harry's jokes and then apparently okay with it and didn't mind being belittled all the time. There was no basis to pretend she was mean and horrible (she wasn't, she was just smart) or arrogant (again, yes she's proud but that's not a reason to be so damn disrespectful especially when she's smart and actively right about something and is really just called arrogant for being loud about being smart if anything, she's not even self absorbed or anything). There is a difference and it shows. And yes, the way strong women in Harry Potter were handled vs how strong women in Percy Jackson and various other books are handled also shows a very strong bias to the idea that "women are strong because they're smarter than boys" and "boys are naturally always stronger than girls" which is bullshit.
Compare with the fact Grover is not physically strong at all, but he can use nature magic and music, he can think, he is smart and knows certain topics even the others don't because he's older, the fact that Clarisse is literally one of the strongest fighters in camp, a girl, not because she's smart but because she's a physically strong daughter of Ares and Annabeth is strong because she's smart and wise, but they don't cancel each other out as better or worse, just two different ways for women and girls to be strong.
Sexism has a basis in Harry Potter's characters, it's there and present all the time and not really addressed, just a part of how each character is written; Ginny is strong but not as much as the boys, she has to go out of her way to be treated as such even as a tomboy, Luna is only strong because she's smart, so is Hermione, so are most of the female cast, whereas the boys are often shown doing physical tasks and being strong in them, even the weakest of them are shown to be generally stronger. Boys who are clever are shown to not be as smart as the girls generally are, the boys who don't meet physical expectations are clumsy and othered. The girls who aren't as smart are absolutely othered and the boys are always, generally, shown to be the ones making stupid decisions that have to be "fixed" by a girl who known better (usually Hermione or Ginny). Whereas in other narratives such as Percy Jackson, again, it is very clear that being a girl or boy wasn't a defining part of their character, just a thing that's there and while, yes, Annabeth is part of that trope, it's very clear that she's a unique case for one and also not the one taking care of the boys all the damn time. If anything? Grover is the one doing that. Hell, even Nico is shown to be smarter than he is physically strong and more powerful in the sense of his connection to his father than any "boys are dkb and brawny". Sex and gender doesn't make them who they are; their abilities and ideals do.
That's my biggest issue here, it's not a simple "oh so clearly Hermione is a bad example but Annabeth is a good one", it's that women in general are treated very different and talked about on different terms. There's a basis a to why Annabeth is the way she is but other girls aren't, why she was hostile at first, why she acted arrogant, why she's proud and what she is even proud in. There's specifics, there's reasons and connections to her story and the plot. But Hermione? She's smart. Therefore she's arrogant, apparently, when she voices her opinion from a book. What specifically makes her arrogant? Talking loud and proud about what she knows. Yes, she wants to be better, yes she wants to be strong. Because she's Muggle born and raised, you know, Just like Harry? Who was raised ignorant of magic and also wants to prove himself? Why is Hermione the only one called arrogant when she is only as proud as Harry, if not less later on as The Chosen One deal gets stuck in his head? I'm not saying he doesn't face consequences or is never called out for it, but I am saying that he is never socially ostracized for it. He's never seen as too much, but Hermione is just by default of being smart and being too open about it. If it was critised as sexist, a theme even, maybe I could be more sympathetic but it's just. Not. It's just shown as okay and a part of how the world is and even that it's somehow correct; that it is arrogant for a girl who's smart to talk up too much when clearly the boys known better but oh there's also stupid and need her to mother them? For some reason? Yeah that pisses me off, especially when you could have a reason for it at least. But nah, Hermione Granger's crime is trying to fit in too much, trying to catch up, trying too damn hard because we all know girls are supposed to shut up and take care of men silently while lot pretending they know too much. And yes, that was sarcasm.
The problem is that, again, with narratives like Percy Jackson or Six of Crows or Deltora Quest or any other thing in existence, it's not that every single female character is only useful as a someone to set the boys straight, but Ginny, Hermione, Luna all had that same damn role. I want more for women, I want more behind a caretaker who is chided for talking too much about her damn well earned accomplishments. And you know how wasn't chided? Annabeth fucking Chase. Not once did the narrative claim that her arrogance was built on anything false, that she was a know it all, just that she was smart and he used it and yes she was fucking right and everyone acknowledges it. Percy does, and he's not an idiot he's street smart and knows shit. And he actually doesn't hassle her for it, he doesn't go over to Grover and whisper "what a lunatic" for the crime of wanting attention and affection which apparently was a crime for Hermione trying to fit in. The same acts, different treatment that's the whole freaking problem.
Anyway that was enough of that, uh, please support strong female characters who are well written and not treated badly by the narrative. Also indie authors and new upcoming authors! Especially the ones who treat their characters the same regardless of gender!

Community Demigod Headcannon/Fanfic Idea
They all go to Camp Half-Blood and meet there. Maybe they have to go on a quest at some point. I don't know. But anyway these are my ideas of who their godly parents would be.
Troy - Son of Ares
Troy is a jock and he gives off a very himbo-like energy. And as shown with Frank not all children of Ares/Mars are aggressive. I think Troy is one of those people who is able to get along with everyone at camp. And everyone knows that during Capture the Flag Troy and Abed’s cabins have to be paired together because the two would never fight against each other. The one time they were on opposite sides it diverged from Capture the Flag to an all out war (Like the blanket fort vs pillow fort war).
Annie - Daughter of Athena
Annie is the most studious person in the study group. During high school she had a 4.0 and is dedicated to her studies.
Britta - Daughter of Demeter
I feel like out of all the demigods the children of Demeter would be the ones who are typically the most into activism. Honestly I don’t know how else to explain it, it’s just how I see her.
Pierce - Satyr
Pierce is a satyr like Coach Hedge. Honestly I just can’t see his character as young. If he was the son of a god, I would probably say Dionysus. I prefer him being a satyr though. An asshole satyr, but a satyr.
Jeff - Son of Hermes
Jeff was a lawyer and is easily able to manipulate people in the show. Hermes is known for being a thief and mischievous. I think it fits.
Abed - Son of either Apollo or Aphrodite
Ok for Abed I couldn’t decide. I know that Apollo probably fits more because Abed is so into pop culture, but I just love the idea of him being the son of Aphrodite. For one it would mean that he would still have his single dad and a mother who left. But also I just love the idea of everyone being confused about how he is the son of Aphrodite. But it is shown in the show that Abed is able to be very charming and pretty much everyone in the show and who watch the show fall in love with his character. And I like imagining all his sisters and brothers being very overprotective over him. So yes, while Apollo might seem to outwardly fit more, I just love the idea of him being the son of Aphrodite.
Shirley
Shirley is another one that I had trouble with. I would love to say that she is the daughter of Hestia or Hera, but neither of them have children who are demigods. And there are a ton that could fit but aren’t perfect. She could be a daughter of Aphrodite. I don’t really have an argument but it could work. She could be a daughter of Tyche, who is the goddess of chance and fortune. Again I could see that working but I don’t have much idea of how it would fit other than her wanting to be an entrepreneur. I could see her being the daughter of Iris. Shirley is such a happy person and rainbows are usually a happy sign. I could even see her being a daughter of Dionysus. We have seen such as in Troy’s 21st birthday episode that Shirley was a heavy drinker in the past, but she is trying to get past that. So maybe the same thing could be said with this. Her father is Dionysus and when she was younger she would use that as part of her excuse for why she was drinking a lot, but when she was 16 she got pregnant (or maybe that is when they go on the quest) and she hasn’t gone back to drinking ever since. She isn’t proud of her past, but she is proud of her journey. Honestly, of these ideas for Shirley the order from which ones I like the most to least is: Dionysus, Tyche, Iris, Aphrodite.
It’s free real estate. Please feel free to use this idea. If you do use it, please just let me know. My ao3 is KnightsofAce if you want to gift it to me. Or just let me know if the comments. I want to read it so please just let me know if you write something based on my idea.

Percabeth Wedding Headcanons
They considered not getting married as a fuck you to Hera, but decided a better fuck you would be to not let her rule their lives.
Annabeth wore a white suit with a blue tie and Percy wore a black suit with a grey tie.
There was a huge fight over who got to be whose bride's/groom's bitches. Eventually Tyson was Percy's best man, with Jason, Frank, Hazel, Nico and Leo in his crew.
Annabeth's maid of honour was Thalia, with Reyna, Piper, Magnus, Clarisse, Rachel and the Stoll brothers in hers.
Chiron officiated. Estelle was flower girl. Grover was ring bearer, and he began chewing the cushion halfway through the ceremony, while sobbing the most.
Coach Hedge held his club up threateningly, but his eyes were suspiciously moist too.
Calypso was the next big crier, sitting with her arms crossed stubbornly in a white vintage T-shirt and faded jeans, tears seeping out through the corners of her eyes.
Almost all the gods came.
Aphrodite was jumping up and down and cooing over them, giving Percy looks that made him turn bright red. She looked exactly like Annabeth to him now.
Apollo was sprawled in a front seat that he was not supposed to be in, and had dragged Will and Meg with him, Will smiling awkwardly while Meg chatted with Artemis about how annoying Apollo was.
Hermes appeared to Percy in the dressing room ("Do you gods have NO respect for privacy?") because he 'had a message for him.’ A message from him, George and Martha, for once, wishing him good luck. They chatted, and then Percy asked if he'd met Annabeth too, but Hermes stiffened and left.
Afterwards tho he and Annabeth came face to face during the reception, and it was awkward and silent. It ended with both of them in tears about Luke, but it was healing for them both. Hermes gave her her dagger back, and Annabeth was surprised and asked how he got it back from Tartarus. Hermes said Bob had found it and sent it up, and was on the lookout for her laptop too -
But he didn't get to finish, because Annabeth hugged him hard, and after initial shock he hugged her back.
The tension between Athena and Poseidon was palpable, and they were seated as far apart as possible.
Poseidon thumped Annabeth on the back so hard she almost toppled into the lake, booming "I should have known! My son and I seem to have yet another thing in common - a love for queens among women." And Percy turned red again. Poseidon gave Percy a huge hug, and went on to meet Sally Jackson. Poseidon took his son marrying a daughter of his rival better than Athena did, though.
When Annabeth and Athena met, there was some tension. It was difficult for Athena to admit she was harsh and unfair with what she said to Annabeth in HOO, and to apologize, but Percy put his hand on Annabeth's shoulder and stood behind her, even when Athena turned her piercing gaze on him and asked that she talk to Annabeth alone. He only went when Annabeth asked him to.
Athena told Annabeth she was proud of her, and added that there was a chance she might be as great, and even greater, than Daedalus. Annabeth knew this was her best attempt at showing affection, and appreciated it.
Athena then accosted Percy, on his way back with drinks, and gave him a once over and humphed. Percy didn't flinch or show any signs of being intimidated, and she raised and eyebrow and finally said, "I will admit, Perseus Jackson, that I did not think you a good choice for my daughter. I still have my doubts... However you have proved yourself more than worthy, and so I gave you permission to marry her. But make no mistake - if you hurt her, I will crack your skull open and extract every brain cell you have left, until you are a drooling, gibbering mess." Percy replied, "If I hurt Annabeth, she'll break every bone in my body before you even get to me. So I don't think you have to worry about that." They parted on fair terms.
Artemis met Percy and Annabeth together, and they had a short conversation about the merits of being turned into a Jackalope, vs the merits of being married. "Life as a Jackalope is more enjoyable than it would seem. However, you have chosen your bane, and against all odds, I hold hope for you both." she concluded.
Hestia was tending the flames when Percy and Annabeth went to meet her, both respecting her as the most helpful goddess of legit all time. She smiled and simply said, "Hope is stronger than ever now, Percy Jackson, for you now build a new and loving home - a rarer place than you would expect."
Mr. D insisted on making a speech, and making it out to Perry Jorganesson and Annie Bell.
The only god not present was Zeus. In fact, he'd banned the gods from going when it became clear that everyone wanted to go, but the gods' respect for him after the way he handled the HOO fiasco was in negative numbers so every single one of them sneaked out of Olympus. Even those who normally wouldn’t have gone went to spite him.
Hades and Persephone went as a couple. Hades sniffed and smirked, saying only that he was glad Percy was 'not my son's type, or I'd have to deal with you' (but he low key ships Percabeth). Persephone though, smiled radiantly and was one coo away from fangirl squealing. Before they left, Hades gave them a note from Bob.
"Bob saw two stars already. They were next to him in Tartarus. Bob says hello." Percy and Annebth sobbed for fiat that, holding each other tightly. They made a point of mapping every single constellation that night. They almost cried again when they saw the Huntress above them.
Hephaestus's eyes twinkled, and he said, "I see that trap in Waterland worked after all - even if not in the way I'd intended."
Ares just grunted that Annabeth had a better weapon (the dragon fang sword) than the last time he saw her, and took his sunglasses off to glare at Percy. "Now there are TWO goddesses who'll kill me if I snuff you out."
The highlight though was Hera waltzing in, smiling smugly like she'd set up the whole thing, and eating a slice of cake, turning a seashell-and-flower arrangement into a cow because it 'looked better, and brought back memories'. She left soon enough, but not before the cow had left a warm gift.
Grover gave his blessing as Lord of the Wild, Rachel gave hers as the Oracle, and the gods fully expected Percabeth to ask for one of their blessings next, but instead the two turned to Sally Jackson and asked for her blessing as the 'supreme goddess'.
The ceremony was in the pavilion, and the reception was around the canoe lake at twilight. The trees around the canoe lake were hung with fairy lights, and Juniper and the dryads had ensured that the sweetest, most fragrant flowers grew. Seashells decorated the venue. Calypso had brought moonlace that began to glow and smell even more beautiful as night began to fall. The Hecate cabin had enchanted sparkling butterflies to flutter around them both after it got dark. The naiads sang in voices nearly as beautiful as the sirens, although lighter and airier. The pegasi flew in formation.
Bessie the Ophiotaurus as well as the Hippocampi were in attendance.
Percy and Annabeth did their first dance underwater, and kissed before resurfacing. Everyone looked around for the dance floor, but couldn't see a thing, when they realized - the lake was the dance floor. Percy had managed to magic the lake, with favours from the naiads and Poseidon, into a liquid dance floor that rippled different colours with each step.
Their wedding day had been on the last day of camp, with the whole camp invited, so with nightfall came the camp traditions, but even better.
There was the fireworks display of course, but with Leo's help it was doubly glorious and even began to tell Percabeth's story. Annabeth looked like she'd die when it began showing the Thrill Ride of Love part of the story, because "It doesn't matter if we're married Percy! It's still embarrassing!"
Camp fire was even more cheerful, what with the gods and mortals allowed in for the first time, and of course Piper+Leo and the Stoll brothers played pranks - it was funnier than it would have been because their pranks overlapped and backfired on each other instead.
Instead of wedding bands, Percabeth were married with camp beads - an owl and a trident artistically intertwined in a silver thread carved heart, designed by Rachel. Hazel summoned the silver and some jewels to embellish them - and this time, she knew, somehow, that they weren’t cursed.
Of course the cake and all food and drink was blue, as well as the flowers, the wedding party's outfits, and (on Annabeth's request as a surprise for Percy) the guests’ clothes. Aphrodite went super overboard with that, and even Artemis succumbed to a small blue flower and fang accessory in her hair.
As soon as the dancing and music ended (as soon as they could get the mic away from Apollo), the activity underway was Capture the Flag with Percy and Annabeth leading opposite teams composed of their bridal parties+friends. Coach Hedge and the Hermes, Ares, Aphrodite and part of the Apollo cabins along with a bunch of minor god cabins went on Annabeth's team, and Will, Meg, and the rest in Percy's. The gods sat it out (some had to be physically restrained) as did Grover, the nature spirits, animals and mortals (Rachel had to be dissuaded from entering armed with plastic hairbrushes and improv lighter-and-spray flamethrowers).
Nobody won. Instead of crossing over the boundary line when they met with each other's flags in hand, Percy and Annabeth started making out. Clarisse could be heard grumbling about it later.
Grover and Thalia stayed back long after everyone had left, and the four of them spent time together until four in the morning.
BTW Annabeth proposed to Percy right before he was about to propose to her. They both looked at each other in surprise for a solid minute, and then burst out laughing. It was impossible to tell who said yes, or if any of them did, but they didn't need to.
They’d both gone to Tyson for the engagement rings. Tyson was confused at first, but promised to keep their secret from each other.
Grover on the other end of the link just stopped mid conversation with the Council of Cloven Elders and Dionysus, and bleated loudly in relief, "FREAKING FINALLY." out of nowhere, and while everyone looked bewildered, Dionysus though just took a sip of diet coke and rolled his eyes, sighing, "Took them long enough."
They proposed to each other on Percy's birthday. Annabeth had baked another blue cupcake ("I'm getting better at it, too!") and they were cuddling/play fighting/sprawling on the sofa late at night in Sally's apartment, talking. They sat with their legs crossed together, devouring the cupcake with their fingers, talking about their plans.
Annabeth mentioned that she'd designed this new building for New Rome that she was SO excited to build (Reyna had contracted her as New Rome's architect), and asked if Percy wanted to see the design. Percy agreed, and she retrieved a roll of paper. Annabeth began to explain enthusiastically, and, pointing at the center of the design, said, "And this is my favourite part." Percy leaned in further to see what she was pointing at - at the heart of the temple, where the altar should be, was a blue-silver ring with a wave design over the words "will you marry me?"
Annabeth looked almost anxiously at Percy, but he looked blank. Finally, Percy uncapped Riptide, which she hadn't noticed was poised in his hand as if he was going to point or correct something on the sheet, and instead of expanding into a sword, it remained a ball pen - with a simple silver ring etched with the words "Wise Girl" around its tip.
They stared at each other, stumped, before exploding in laughter.
Sally and Paul came running from the next room, Estelle copying them and giggling in Paul's arms, worried that it was a monster attack. When instead they saw Percy and Annabeth laughing and hugging, each wearing a ring on fingers covered in blue frosting and looking as if they couldn't quite believe it, Sally burst into tears right there and had to explain to her concerned kids, laughing, that these were happy tears because secretly she still couldn't believe that they had all found their happiness and it was something she'd only dared to dream of because it was everything she ever wanted for her son and she was happy to and oh how long had she waited and worked and hoped for a happy ending for all of them but never really expected it and this was too much -

Percy Jackson Hogwarts Headcanon AU:
---------------------------
Percy Jackson: Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
His fatal flaw is loyalty.
He stands up for what he believs is the right thing.
Sometimes even to a fault (Choosing Annabeth over the world when they fell in Tartarus.)
He's not without his temper.
But he'd never actively raise a hand towards people (Percy vs Thalia in "The Titan's Curse)
Unless it's the last and only option. (He chose to let Luke go out on his own terms instead of forcibly taking him down)
But he is not afraid of a fight.
He forgives within reason, but he never forgets.
Kindness is a strength that comes naturally to him after everything he's been through.
Grover Underwood: Gryffindor
Tumblr media
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear."
He is kind and often easily scared.
But he would risk his life and more to ensure that his friends are safe and protected.
Not just because he's a Satyr, but because it's simply who he is.
Annabeth: Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Being a daughter of Athena, it's no surprise she views knowledge and wisdom as priceless, perhaps even more so than your genius college professor.
She might not always be wise, being as proud as she is.
Like that time she tried to listen to the Siren's song....
But she does have a ready mind.
She and Reyna both fit and work well with each other like cogs of a well oiled machine.
Often finding unorthodox solutions to problems before her.

Ever and Always a Smartass
(A few selected quotes from my twelfth-grade “classical allusions” literature assignments.)  (I never was terribly fond of literature classes..)
The task for each reference: (1) summarize the story, (2) list and explain the conflicts within the story, and (3) declare and explain a take-away theme statement for the story.  Each assignment had to fit on a single index card (including the back).  Despite this restriction, I was commonly asked to perhaps use a few more words... and maybe reconsider my tone, and perhaps try to find a more standard take-away?  (Spoilers: Nah. x3)
They are presented in no particular order, as the cards had no dates and got shuffled at some point.  The quotes as given below are in most cases not the entirety of my response, but are the most relevantly amusing bits.
Regarding Joseph and Bros. (Biblical):  (3) “Brothers are jerks.  Or, if you prefer, guys are jerks.”
Regarding Perseus and Medusa (Greek): (1) “Traditional beginning for an ancient myth: kid’s gonna kill Daddy later, so Daddy sails him down the river to let him die ... [Perseus]  goes home, pulls out Medusa’s head, and turns a bunch of jerks into statues.  Yay for him, the gods are happy, and so on and so forth.”  (3) “You’re only as good as your worst gadget.”
Regarding Jesus and Lazarus (Biblical): (3) "If someone really wants to go open a four-day-old tomb, don't argue."  [Teacher's note: "Other, larger theme?"]
Regarding Midas of the Golden Touch (Greek): (1) "When he turned his own daughter into a gold statue as well, he figured out he hadn't made the best decision."  (3) "Money isn't everything. ...we'd know that money is everything because everything would be money.  Since it's not, we know money isn't."
Regarding the Birth of Christ (Biblical): (3) "Just nod and smile. ... Other actions may result in loss of speech, sudden outbursts of angelic chorus, and other such minor problems."
Regarding Samson and the Philistines (Biblical): (3) "Strength of a lion, brain of a tsetse fly."
Regarding Paris and the Golden Apple (Greek): (1) "It was fortold that Paris would cause the downfall of Troy; wonder of wonders, he did."  (2) "god vs. god -- Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were all duking it out for the stupid little apple that was obviously intended to cause problems."  (3) "Stay out of the gods' affairs."
Regarding Daphne and the Laurel Wreath (Greek): (2) "Apollo wouldn't have had nearly as many problems to deal with if he was able to just keep his mouth shut"
Regarding Jason and the Golden Fleece (Greek): (1) "Jason's skin was saved by princess Medea multiple times as he attempted the task set to him."  (3) "Behind every successful man is a woman's helping hand."
Regarding Pygmalion and Galatea (Greek): (3) [sharp detour into speculation about where you might acquire a personality for infusing into a statue]
Regarding Echo and Narcissus (Greek): (2) "Narcissus was in love with his own image, and if that's not a problem then I don't want to know what is."
Regarding Odysseus and the Trojan Horse (Greek): (1) "They leave for Troy.  Big long battle that no one can win -- ten years.  Whee."
Regarding Cupid and Psyche (Greek): (1) "Venus sent Cupid after [Psyche], but Cupid managed to stick himself instead. ... Venus kept making things difficult, as she was still mad at Psyche."  (2) "god vs. man ... Venus basically tried to ruin Psyche's life."
Regarding Arachne and Athena (Greek): (2) "Oh, and Athena turned Arachne into a spider after her first curse caused Arachne to commit suicide.  Nothing major."  (3) "There's a difference between being proud and being stupid."
Regarding Orpheus and Eurydice (Greek): (1) "The song was sad and pretty and stuff."  (3) "If Mr. Moron had just waited a few more minutes .. They all appear to be idiots."
Regarding the Book of Ruth (Biblical): (1) "Sandals were exchanged."  (3) "In those days, that was considered a Successful Life."
Regarding David and Jonathon (Biblical): (2) "Saul just liked fighting with everyone."
Regarding the Agony of Christ (Biblical): (2) "high priest vs. guy with sword."  (3) "Nothing is guaranteed."
Regarding the Death of John the Baptist (Biblical): (3) "Couples in healthy relationships talk things over together.  They don't fight over the death/life of a mutual acquaintance; instead they calmly and rationally discuss the good and bad of such a matter.  They don't sneak around behind each other's back to kill the man they disagree about; during their calm discussion (see previous) they arrive at a cooperative conclusion and work together to accomplish that goal."
Regarding Cain and Abel (Biblical): (3) "He won't be dead for awhile, but he won't be having much fun before he dies, either."
Regarding Noah and the Flood (Biblical): (2) [sharp detour into the callousness of the deaths of all the animals left behind]
Regarding the Tower of Babel (Biblical): (3) "As [different teacher] says, know your role and stay in your hole. ... We have enough problems communicating without the language barrier, thanks..."
Regarding Jacob and Esau (Biblical): (2) "Jacob and Esau had some issues with each other right from the start.  Actually, from before the start, if you count birth as the beginning of your life."
Regarding Abraham and Isaac (Biblical): (1) "Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac went on living life."  (2) "The decision didn't seem to bother him much"  (3) "How comforting, no?  God will change his mind and tell you not to do what he told you to do in the first place, assuming you are stupid enough to listen to him when he tells you to go kill your kid..." [Teacher references "tone.." for something like the seventh time]
Regarding Daedalus and Icarus (Greek): (3) "Follow the instructions. ... If nothing else, read/listen to them carefully and then consciously choose to ignore them."
Regarding Pilate and Jesus (Biblical): (1) "The crucifixion and all the stuff that that entails occur."
Regarding the Rescue of the Child Moses (Biblical): (1) "God did not forget the Israelites."  (2) "The Hebrew and Egyptian peoples had a few minor disagreements"  (3) "It's good to be female."
Regarding the Burning Bush (Biblical): (2) "The Hebrew and Egyptian peoples had a few minor disagreements" (and the teacher didn't even notice I reused it!).  (3) "Since he's got the whole 'almighty' thing going, your best bet is to just deal with it.  If he tells you to go face down the king of a country you ran away from, and you will likely be killed as soon as you set foot over the border, and you really don't think it's a good idea... you'd better just do it anyway."
Regarding the Passage through the Red Sea (Biblical): (3) "If the people you want to go after have a god at their backs, you probably should just leave them alone.  Especially when said god has already plagued your country, killed all your first-born sons (animals included), and given his chosen leader some powers that border on miraculous."

Agent M, Agent, C, Suzy, Kitzeh, Willow, and Arsenic were left to lead the Agents, Heroes, and Allies in defending Inkopolis. But there was no more Typhonian Horde to eliminate. Inkopolis is saved, but not for long. The defenders can see the black cloud above; Hephaestus, Hermes, Anteros, the minor Olympian gods, and the Greek Mythos Forces knew who this was: Typhon.
Agent Blueshift and Agent 2 had to do some escorting from Shee-Booyah to Alexandria District. When they arrived, Lee and Callie came out, worrying about Camille. Pac-Man was left with Janine and Myzzy to be watched over.
“Where’s Agent 7 now?!” Callie wanted to give him a what-for.
“He’s probably with some operative at that building.” Blueshift pointed to the Base of Operations and Conference.
Lee and Callie ran off to deal with Agent 7. Agent 2 stood by Blueshift.
“Do you realize what you’ve done?” Agent 2 asked.
“Someone had to tell them about Camille...” Blueshift looked away. “And Janine would’ve felt the same.”
When Lee and Callie arrived into the operations room, Agent 7 was monitoring the health of Camille, Nebula, Celeste, Telemachus, Justinian, and Hera. There was pop-up warnings of paralysis and shock. Operatives were trying to contact the kids them through a unique communications device that acted like telepathy.
From the communication, they’re picking up sounds of screaming, as if the children were being constricted by something.
“Someone tell those six to out of there! Typhon is going too--!” Agent 7 soon covered his mouth.
Then there was a massive sound of someone’s hand slamming on the ground. The EKGs were on flatlines.
“All EKGs are on flatline...,” an Operative reported, “They’re gone.”
Lee and Callie were speechless.  Camille and her Party were splatted right where they were. The deaths of Camille, Nebula, Telemachus, Celeste, Justinian, and Hera were made known to everyone on Earth by the Typhon.
Callie stepped forward, heartbroken. “How could you...?” She then began to run towards Agent 7 to grab him, but a few Operatives got out of their seats and pulled her away. All she can do was shout. “HOW COULD YOU!?!” She struggled.
Lee ran over and calm his wife. “Callie! Callie!” He had the Operatives let go so that he can calm Callie. He had his hands on her cheek; he tried to make her look at him straight in the eyes. “Shouting at him won’t solve anything! .....She’s gone now... Camille... our daughter....” He tears up. “She’s gone...”
Callie and Lee embrace and weep over the loss of their daughter. Agent 7 looked at them, sharing the same grief. However, he has felt grief so much in the past that he was able to move along. He sighs and took off his hat. Typhon is free to bring the world to chaos.
But then there was beeping. Lee and Callie quickly looked and saw that the EKG for Camille is still active; She’s alive!
This also brought Agent 7’s attention, and he puts on his headphones and tried calling her. “Testing pseudotelepathy. Testing pseudotelepathy.” There's a signal. “Good...” He adjusts some signals.
“What are you doing?” Lee looked at Agent 7.
“We’re going to talk to your daughter.” Agent 7 presses on more button.
Point of No Return, The Titan Fortress - Skies of Tokyo Metropolis 12:10 Noon
Camille managed to come to her sense and shield herself with the Gorgon Shield, but as she recovered from Typhon’s attack, her Gorgon Shield has dents. She only had Athena’s Spear and Aegis as her weapons.
Her vision was slightly blurry as she looked at her surroundings, but when it became clear, she can see 5 ink puddles: A dark green ink puddle with Hades’s Helmet, a pink ink puddle with Poseidon’s Trident, a white ink puddle with the Olympic Queen’s Scepter and Hebe’s Wine Cup, a rose pink ink puddle with Hestia’s heart, and a reddish brown ink puddle with Persephone’s Staff and Demeter’s shoulder bag.
Camille’s eyes widened; her friends were splatted. Tears were coming down Camille’s cheeks and all she can think of was the times she spent with most of her friends. But when Typhon screeched, Camille looked up and uses Aegis, shielding herself and the ink puddles. She trying to cope with what just happened.
Typhon tried to break the blue forcefield with torrents of pitch black violet ink. He even tried to pound one hand on the shield only to leave a few cracks.
There no point to this, Camille thought. She believed she’s going to splat anyway, and so will her family and the people of Inkopolis.
She’s all alone now.
“Camille? Camille!” Agent 7 was talking to her.... telepathically?
Camille’s hearing was still recovering, but she sure didn’t want Agent 7’s voice to be the last thing to hear before she died. The impact made by Typhon’s attack didn’t do anything to her voice.
“I didn’t expect you to be the last one to hear before I die,” Camille mocked.
“And you won’t expect this: Someone is here to talk to you.” Agent 7 voice soon became Lee’s voice and Callie's voice.
“Camille... Sweetie?” Lee asked.
“Oh great zapfish, you’re alive...” Callie can be heard sniffing and such.
“Mom? Dad?” These were the voice Camille wanted to hear. “Wait where’s Paccy?”
“Your grandma and Uncle Myzzy are taking care of him,” Callie explained.
“Good...” Camille continues shielding herself and her deceased friends. There was a tone of despair in her voice, which is quite rare coming from a tough squid like her.
It’s time Lee talked to Camille about this. “Camille, listen to me...,” Lee began, “I... I know you never wanted this... And I know how you feel. And I can tell you didn’t believe in all the stories at first about me being a superhero and your mother being an Agent.” Lee took a deep breath. “Those were true, but all I wanted was to follow my own path. Yet, I walked on the path of a hero even if I didn’t call myself one.”
Camille can understand that. “And now I’m in your shoes.”
“Well blame my son--” Agent 7 is cut off by Camille.
“Eat an urchin, Uncle Sev!” Camille can hear him.
“Nevermind Seven, dear, I know he didn’t want this either... but things just happen for a reason.” Soon Lee let Callie talk to her.
“Sweetie, Lee and I wanted normal lives together, and look at it now,” Callie comforted, “But now that you’re in our shoes.....” Callie tried not to cry. “I’m proud that you have a reason to fight.”
“.....Mom, I’m doing this because..... because... I care for my friends and family...” Apathy is one thing, but Camille deeply cares for them. “And I want a normal life too! So I’m not going to let this snake freak here destroy me, destroy you, Dad, Tia Marie, Uncle Blue, or everyone!”
“...Sweetie...” Callie is speechless.
“.....Camille...” Lee is also speechless.
“Mom, Dad, can you trust me?” Camille can’t keep the shield up for long. “Let me do this...”
“Lee, Callie, reception is going out, answer quickly. We only got about 4 minutes.” Agent 7 sounded alarmed.
“.......I trust you, dear,” Lee answered.
“Camille..... just don’t forget that we --” Callie is cut off.
Camille can no longer hear them, but she knew what her mother was going to say. She stared at Typhon; this time his terrifying appearance didn’t paralyze her. Camille gets up and continued using Aegis’s protection.

Camille looked down at the ink puddles that were once her friends. She then looked at Typhon and took a deep breath; it was time to face the end. She watches the cracks of her blue forcefield open up into holes; the shield was deteriorating.
Camille relaxes her hands and allows the shield to go away. Typhon opens it’s mouth and breathed out purple flames that are as strong as the flares of the sun. As the flames hit Camille, a wall of transparent gold surrounds her and the ink puddles.
Camille smiled and raised Athena's spear up high, releasing an endless amount of lighting from the tip. The lightning hits the ink puddles. Then there was flash so bright that it forced Typhon to shield his eyes.
((transition to this background song, VS. Ophion and Eurynome, the Typhonian End: https://youtu.be/xCzNIHtYniU ))
Camille is now permanently in an armor of gold and leather; Nebula, Telemachus, Celeste, Justinian, and Hera respawned immediately also wearing armors of gold and leather, and they were all confused about what happened.
“Camille what happened?!?” Celeste was too shocked.
“I thought we were goners!” Justinian was also shocked.
“You revived us, with Zeus’s powers,” Hera assumed.
“Is that true?” Nebula wondered.
“No time to ask that, we go to send Typhon back to Tartarus!” Telemachus has noticed the new look to his Olympian form.
Camille nods. “Alright, guys! Let's roll!”
Camille, Telemachus, and Hera took off using their wings. Celeste uses Hestia’s heart to build herself a clay platforms to jump on. Nebula summoned Poseidon’s chariot and Stallions and this time she can create bridges of ice as she drives the chariot. Justinian is able to create a massive tree large enough to strike at Typhon; he used the tree as a bridge.
The massive tree impales Typhon right in the chest, but out of the wound were venomous snakes. Justinian uses the branches of the tree to sweep the reptiles out of his way and continued to cross the bridge he made.
One of the many snakeheads from Typhon tried to grab Camille, Telemachus, or Hera, but Celeste kicks Hestia’s heart to hits the head, giving her friends a chance to decapitate it.
“Yeah!” Take that!” Celeste shouted.
Nebula tried freezing the ink that Typhon has coursing through his whole body, and Justinian made sure nothing stops her. When one snakehead was about to grab the chariot and Nebula, Justinian lets one branch extend and pierce through that snake’s head.
Nebula looked at Justinian.
“Don’t worry Nebula! I got your back!” Justinian continued crossing his arboreal bridge.
Telemachus flew in to decapitate as many snakeheads off Typhon’s body. He would put on Hades's helmet to turn invisible and lead gashes on Typhon. Camille was relentlessly striking lightning at every single part of Typhon’s body. When a snake head sits pitch black in at either Telemachus or Camille. Hera got in the way and she shielded them with a wall of light using the Olympic Queen’s scepter. Even without Hera’s protection, Camille and Telemachus dodge the ink drops in rolls and loops.
Typhon tried to pull the tree he’s impaled to out of his chest, but Justinian made the tree grow more, continuing to stab through Typhon’s chest. More snake heads come out to try and grab the six Olympic Champions.
Celeste dribbled Hestia’s heart, occasionally kicking it at a few of the snakeheads while it was burning bright. Nebula kept freezing a few parts of Typhon and using Poseidon’s trident to deliver an earth-shaking force at the patch of ice, shattering them into pieces.
The more Typhon struggles, the more wounds he gets from the attacks made by Camille’s party. However, fighting Typhon like this was taking too long, Camille had to make them get together. They needed to immobilize the Typhonian End.
Justinian’s tree kept Typhon in place, but it didn’t stop the horror from wriggling violently and fighting back. Nebula’s freezing powers and Telemachus’s slashing attack were wounding Typhon, but he still kept fighting back. Celeste and Hera were only providing support, but Celeste was working really hard to help Camille fight the being.
Camille stops her lighting strikes and flew to Nebula’s side. “Nebby! Try soaking Typhon in water!”
“But that will deprive earth of most of its water, are you crazy!?” Nebula was busy dodging a few snakes while freezing another part of Typhon’s body.
“Not water from Earth, from somewhere else!” Camille sends lightning to strike the snakes gathering towards Nebula. She then grabs Nebula’s hand, taking her to the arboreal tree that Justinian’s on.
Camille is later getting Celeste, Telemachus, and Hera to meet her with Justinian and Nebula at that bridge. They were going to go all out, throwing everything they got at Typhon.
“Let’s make this a group effort, guys!” Camille ordered. After all, she is leading this team. “On the count of 3........forget counting! Let’s go!”
Tapping into their Olympian powers, the Olympic Champions went for a glorious charge. Hera throws an orb of light and blinded Typhon with a flash. Telemachus gathers all the spirits of the Earth and sends them tormenting Typhon’s mind, making him thrash violently and continue struggling. Justinian creates vines from the arboreal bridge and Typhon gets entangled in the vines when he was thrashing and struggling. Celeste makes a tiled floor platform to give Camille’s party more comfortable movement; At the same time, Hestia’s heart started creating duplicates of itself, and Celeste kicks all of them at Typhon. dealing fiery soccer combos. When the fire was engulfing Typhon, Nebula took this chance to tap into the Olympian powers and create a typhoon of water at will. Nebula then breathed out icy winds which froze Typhon’s entire body while he was soaked in the water. Camille quickly flew toward Typhon’s chest and to where his heart should be to pull out the inkling that stuck to the massive being. She then returned to her team to place the inkling down.
Camille got back up wanted to use Athena’s spear to deliver the final blow, but she then heard Camilla’s voice.
“The bow and crown!” The Princess advised. “Banish Typhon with an arrow filled with Chiron’s bow!”
Camille didn’t know why, but she followed the advice; she took out Apollo’s Bow and Artemis’s Antler crown. They two artifacts glowed and two constellations can be seen in space: Sagittarius and Centaurus. Two pieces of a massive bow appeared before Camille and her team and it repairs itself. Camille then noticed Athena’s spear act up and coil itself in electricity; the electricity materializes to turn the spear into an arrow.
She knew what to do, and she needed to do it quickly before the ice thaws and Typhon fights back.
Justinian and Celeste helped adjust the position of the large bow so that it’s aiming at Typhon’s heartless chest. Camille placed the arrows in the bow and pulled the string, but despite Camille’s strength, the string is impossible to pull.
“What!?!” Camille kept pulling, but to no avail.
“Here! Let us help!” Telemachus runs over and helps pull the bow. They still needed more muscle.
“I’ve got ya, Camille!” Celeste runs over and offered Camille some help.
“Us too!” Justinian and Hera go offer and help.
“Camille, we’ll do this together!” Nebula is the last to help.
Soon all their strength managed to get the bow string pulled and get the arrow ready to be shot at Typhon. All they needed to do is release it.
“This...ends...now!!!” Camille and the others let go of the string and the bow fires Athena’s spear towards Typhon.
When it hits the chest, massive lightning strikes hit straight at the chest of Typhon. The impact brought enough force to push Typhon into several light years. Athena’s spear didn’t go with Typhon and stayed in the place where is hit Typhon’s chest. Camille manages to retrieve the spear and plant it on the ground. As for the massive bow, it fades.
((end of background music))
“That.... was.... TOTALLY WICKED!!!” Celeste jumps in the air and pumps a fist. “We won!!”
Telemachus was starting at the total blackness of space. “What an adventure.”
Hera was standing next to him and she nods in agreement.
Justinian and Nebula were holding hands.
But suddenly Camille collapses in exhaustion, again. Her friends gather to see if she’s okay. Camille was dreaming again.
