Supergirl of Earth-Two (Movie Outline)
This is the outline for a sequel to my previous Supergirl movie set within a cinematic universe, and this one would theoretically take place in Phase Three, some time following Superman: God Among Men, and is one of the main films building up to the Crisis on Infinite Earths event.
We begin with a similar opening to Superman: Son of Krypton, with a version of Kara Zor-El on Krypton, playing with her baby cousin Kal, just before Brainiac attacks and seals her home city in a bottle, her with it. There are little noticeable differences from the original though, such as Kara's personality being much more brazen and reckless.
We then fast-forward through a number of familiar events: Kara waking up on Brainiac's ship, making her escape, and crash-landing on Earth. This time, however, she finds herself rescued by her cousin Kal, but this time, he wears the black-and-white suit of Ultraman, and is accompanied by two other costumed figures called Owlman and Superwoman. Kara tries to warn him of Brainiac's attack, but Ultraman soothes her, telling her it will be taken care of.
We then skip to another universe, where our main Kara Zor-El is living happily on Earth, acting as the defender of New Kandor at its place in Scotland. We get to see her saving the day, and working alongside her best friend Linda Danvers, who has been training with magic. We have a brief scene where Linda tells her that [a magic user AKA Doctor Fate/Zatanna/whoever's around at this time in the cinematic universe] has offered to train her and that she'll be leaving for a while. They have a fond farewell and Linda leaves.
We see Kara going about her business, saving random civilians and such, when suddenly, a strange little man appears before her, introducing himself as Mr. Mxyzptlk, who requests her services. Kara, a little weirded out by him, tries to turn him down and fly away, but he ends up using magic to keep her trapped. We get a whole sequence of this, Kara cursing magic and wishing Linda were here to help her. After a short battle, Kara accidentally gets him to say his name backwards, he yelps and disappears, telling her he'll be back.
Freaked out, Kara goes to her father Zor-El, who has been researching books from the same [magical figure], as she doesn't want to disturb Linda. Zor-El finds an entry in the book on Mr. Mxyzptlk, describing him as an interdimensional entity of vast reality-bending power, who frequently enters their universe, and the only way to defeat him is to fulfill a certain condition, which will change every time.
Kara debates with her father whether to go and get Linda and her teacher for help, when Mxy reappears, saying he told her he'd be back, and repeating that he needs her help. Before Kara can say another word, he snaps his fingers and she suddenly finds herself outside in a city that looks like Metropolis, but everything looks different somehow.
Mxy appears before her and tells her that he's brought her to another dimension, parallel to her own, where certain events played out a little differently, resulting in a vastly different world. She demands he send her back, but he refuses until she finds and fixes his problem. For what that problem is, he says to seek out her cousin of this world and find out for herself before disappearing.
Kara flies around the city, noticing that the people seem to live in a state of constant fear, and many especially cower when they see her. She also sees a large foreboding tower at the center of the city where the Daily Planet used to be. She figures that's the best place to start. She flies up to it and is immediately met with resistance from turrets and troopers, and finally gets into a scuffle with what appears to be another Kryptonian.
After a brief fight, they break apart to see that they are exactly identical, except that the new Kara's hair is shorter and she wears the whiter, more revealing outfit of Power Girl. Power Girl demands to know who she is, if she's some insidious clone created by the resistance to infiltrate their base. It's at this moment that Ultraman steps in.
Kara recognizes him instantly as Clark, but this Clark doesn't recognize the name. He welcomes her to his home and apologizes for his cousin's rude behavior. He also introduces her to his comrades Owlman and Superwoman, who Kara recognizes as Bruce and Diana from back home. Owlman scans her and confirms that she is indeed an alternate universe version of Kara, with her insides all inverted.
Ultraman welcomes her into the tower and shows her around, Power Girl being a little miffed. He asks her how she got here, and reveals that he and his comrades have been working on a device for traversing the multiverse for years, and they were curious to know if she was a result of some accidental success. Here and there, Kara picks up little tidbits that make her think this Clark is not the good man she knows back home, and it eventually comes out that they are not a Justice League at all, but an evil dominion that combined their powers to conquer Earth and all of its inhabitants.
Kara refuses to help them any further and tries to escape. The Syndicate jump into action, all overpowering her. Kara notices that this version of herself and Ultraman even seem to be a little stronger, or at least more aggressive with their fighting styles. She is about to be defeated, when a mysterious figure blasts the other Kara with a powerful cannon, allowing Kara to get away and hide.
As she creeps around the city, the same figure calls her over to a hiding place. She hurries in to find that her rescuer is none other than Lex Luthor, or Alexander, as he corrects her. Alexander leads her down into a huge lead-lined complex full of resistance fighters, including his wife Lois Lane, and their son Alexander Jr.
Alexander and Lois tell Kara the story of Ultraman. Years ago, Alexander's parents, the Luthors, came upon a crashed spacecraft with a baby inside. Taking him in, the infant Kal and Alexander had been raised as brothers in the lap of luxury. As he reached puberty, however, Kal's powers began to manifest in explosive ways, and their parents hid him away, doing everything they could to remove, suppress, or contain his powers out of fear. The son of a fellow wealthy family, Bruce Wayne, a spoiled brat with a penchant for mischief, discovered him one day while sneaking around their building, and the two became quick friends, Bruce feeding his anger and frustration until finally, Kal broke out, murdered their parents, and he and Bruce went on a crime spree, killing hundreds of innocents. Through his powers, they discovered an island in the Mediterranean full of powerful warrior women, including a princess Kal seduced with promises of revenge on the world that had forced her people into hiding. With these three united, the world quickly bent its knee to their might. Alexander, feeling he could have been a better brother, took up the cause to fight against them and form a resistance.
Kara asks if they have any plans to defeat him, but they all seem pretty hopeless. She mentions specific weaknesses of Kryptonians, like Kryptonite and magic, both of which are a surprise to Alexander. He says he knows of the rock she mentions but had no idea of its effect on him. As for magic, Kara believes that she knows at least one person in this world who can help them.
Kara heads out on her own to Scotland in hopes of finding this world's Linda. She is accosted along the way by her own variant, who knew she'd find her eventually. The pair spar back and forth, Kara asking her why she works for Kal, at which Kara II gets defensive. Their fight carries them all the way to Scotland, only to find the entire British Isles a festering wasteland devoid of life and teeming with dark magic. The sight causes both Karas to stop fighting.
They find their way to MacDougal castle, clearly the source of the magic. They find Linda inside, withered and decrepit, her body emanating with the Silver Banshee's power. To her dismay, Kara realizes that this Linda was never saved from being sacrificed to the Banshee, and that her friend was long dead. The Banshee attacks the pair, and Power Girl is nearly killed by the power of her magic, but Kara manages to rescue her and they get out alive.
All throughout all of this, we will be cutting back to Alexander and Lois tracking down Kryptonite and making plans, and Mr. Mxyzptlk appearing to Ultraman and toying with him just enough so that he overhears a conversation between Owlman and Superwoman, planting seeds in his mind that they are conspiring against him and feeding his paranoia.
Back with Kara and Kara II, the pair rest far outside of the Banshee's domain, and actually talk. Kara II tells Kara that she wasn't that different from herself once, and had initially tried to fight against him, but after repeated failures and constant physical and emotional abuse, she had finally given into his will and became his enforcer, mentioning that she's done terrible things since that time. Kara I tells her that she's going to go fight him. Kara II says that she won't go with her, but she won't stop her anymore.
The resistance launches an attack on the tower. Ultraman and his forces repulse them as always, but this time, he gets downed by a blast of Kryptonite energy. His brother attacks him with a Kryptonite blade, dealing heavy blows to him. He is only saved when Superwoman intervenes and seriously wounds Alexander, flying Kal to safety. Kal's paranoia has gotten too much for him though, and he accuses her of giving them that strange rock that hurt him. Superwoman tries to fend him off, but he kills her easily. He then flies off to find Owlman. Owlman tries to sate him by showing him that the multiversal machine is fully functional now. Kal plunges his fist through his chest and says he'll activate it himself.
Kara flies to the tower, finds Alexander wounded, and takes the Kryptonite blade in with her. She finds Ultraman with the machine started up, ripping a hole through dimensions. Mxy flashes into existence, glitching slightly, and says that's the problem. It's messing with his powers. Kara challenges Ultraman and they fight. Kara tries to reason with him, telling him that her Clark is a hero, but Ultraman bites back that that's only because he got to live an actual life and hadn't been locked away for years to rot. Ultraman is about to kill Kara when Power Girl arrives and saves the day, standing up to her cousin. The pair work together, and Ultraman is ultimately defeated, knocked into the energy stream and ripped apart down to the atoms. The pair destroy the machine together and shut it down.
In the aftermath, Alexander and his resistance help take down the rest of the Syndicate. It is noted that Owlman and the Kryptonite blade seem to be missing. Mr. Mxyzptlk appears before them, thanking Kara and opening up a gateway back to her dimension. Power Girl asks if she can come with her, as she wants to see a world where Kryptonians are not looked at with fear. Kara accepts and they head through together.
In a post-credits scene, the two Karas come out in Metropolis, and Kara I asks her variant if she wants to meet a version of her cousin who's not an evil monster. They race each other out to the Kent farm in Smallville, but little by little, it becomes clear that this is not their world. They stop at the Kent farm before the Clark that appears in the Young Superman trilogy not connected to the cinematic universe. As the three stare at each other in confusion, Mr. Mxyzptlk appears again, and says, "Oops, my apologies. I just needed you to do one more little thing for me."
And that's it. What do you think?

HJDJSJH I remember reading about Artem's reaction to MC singing along to 34+35 or something like that (I think it was from artemelle?) So could I please request Vyn's reaction to MC/ his s/o singing along to 34+35 by Ariana Grande in this car? I'm just curious to hear your thoughts/headcanons you have, it doesn't have to be a full fanfic or anything. Cheers!
- Krypton
Thank you for feeding the ideas gremlin
I took a bit of liberty to move the setting to NXX Headquarters instead of the car
I'm not too used to headcanons yet so please take this fic
And yes since this is Vyn Richter we're talking about, this is (WARNING: NSFW, do not click, interact if minor etc etc)
Poor Rosa had a tendency to sing out loud the last song she listened to whenever she reached peak stress levels at work.
First, it manifested as a humming as she compiled articles of past cases in Artem's office.
As the hours went on, specifically after Artem had proposed alterations of approach with one of their more difficult clients, song lyrics start to slip out from time to time, as she starts singing under her breath.
Her singing voice wasn't unpleasant, not at all. Sometimes it was a welcome distraction. However she was still in Artem's office, and the eponymous main occupant of the office was also present, bearing witness to Rosa's singing of the word Fuck.
Can you stay up all night
Fuck me til the daylight
34 35
"Good lord." Artem watched Rosa blurt out a pathetic jumble of apologies, excuses, the I'm really sorry it's just that I'm having a bad case of LSS and I can't get it out of my head I'm sorrys before banging the door leading to his office closed behind her.
It took a few seconds to sink in before Artem, his face going beet red, buried his face in his hands.
===
NXX Headquarters. Meeting Room.
Rosa was sure that at 3 PM on a Wednesday, no one was using the premises, and she had exclusive use of the office for the day.
Having worked with the men for months, Rosa already knew their schedules to heart: Luke was away doing NSB duties until well into the evening. Marius would be babysitting the board members of his family conglomerate well until 7 PM. Vyn would be in the university doing lectures, and at 6 PM he would be doing his rounds in his research center. And Artem...she left him back in the office.
And so, she laid out her temporary workstation on the large table, and for good measure, turned up the volume of her laptop's music player.
Her fingertips swiftly flutter across the keyboard, a fierce wave of productivity crashing over her, now that she was comfortable with the fact that there was no one around to bear witness to her embarrassing tendency to sing out loud her stress, lyrics raunchy or not.
Baby you might need a seatbelt when I ride it
I’mma leave it open like a door, come inside it
Even though I’m wifey you can hit it like a side chick
Don’t need no side dick, no
This went on for at least 2 hours.
...
Aaaaaand Save. Rosa smiled, triumphant. It only took her a couple of hours to complete her revisions, with a few more to spare left to unwind.
Fuck me til the daylight
34 35
Means I wanna 69 with ya
Aww shit
It was needless to say that she felt proud of herself. Maybe I should hijack the NXX Headquarters the next crunch ti--
The sound of slow clapping emanated from the other end of the room.
No way.
With an acute feeling of dread thudding her heart against her rib cage, Rosa slowly turned to the source of the sound.
Dr. Vyn Richter was leaning by the open doorway, still wearing his white laboratory coat, a plastic bag of convenience store snacks hanging from his arm. His usual gentle smile was replaced by something quite...unreadable.
"How--how long you've been here?" Rosa stammered, now truly mortified.
"Long enough to hear you sing along to the song on loop at least three times." Still the same unreadable smile obscuring his golden gaze.
Yes, Rosa was now well and truly mortified.
"I do not understand why you should be so flustered. I am already well familiar with your tendency to sing out loud while you are experiencing work-related stress." Vyn's voice was slow and measured, not exactly devoid of warmth, but there was clearly something.
There would be some moments when Rosa--nor anyone else, for that matter--could not figure out what the man was thinking at the time. This would be one of those moments.
Vyn smiled as he placed his plastic bag of convenience store groceries on the table. "Or are you perhaps embarrassed at your choice of music?" He chuckled to himself. "There is no need for that. Do not forget that I dabbled with EDM onstage."
Without waiting for a reply from Rosa, he disappeared into the NXX server room.
A couple of minutes later, the lights in the headquarters had considerably dimmed, as if the main power source has been cut off with the emergency lights taking over the task of illuminating the premises.
Only the server room remained fully functional.
Rosa had noticed that the pilot light of her laptop has gone out as well. Is there a power outage? At this time?
"Vyn," Rosa called out, "I think the power's gone out--"
"Never you worry," Vyn said, his strangely serene smile still on his face as he emerged out of the server room. "That was me.
"I only switched off the main power." Hands in his pockets, he walked slowly towards Rosa. "Let us pick up the conversation again. Why were you so flustered upon finding out that I listened to your singing?"
His steps were slow, languid, and in the sudden dimness of the room his gold eyes flashed.
Just like a cat. A predatory cat.
"Well, um," Rosa was now confused as to why Vyn was insisting on getting an answer on such a trivial question. "Because the lyrics was...was on the lewd side...?"
"Hoh, interesting," Vyn's steps stop right behind Rosa's chair. He then grabbed the backrest of her swivel chair and turned it so she faced him.
"Vyn..." she gulped, her body becoming increasingly hot, the once light, comforting ambiance of having exclusive use of the expansive room now being replaced with a palpable tension caused by the man towering over her.
"If the power is out...the electronic doors wouldn't work, either...?" Rosa asked, slightly unnerved.
"Exactly. No one can go out." Vyn then slams his hands on the table behind Rosa, trapping her in his arms. One of his knees bend and rest on Rosa's chair, right between her thighs.
"And most importantly, no one can come in." His breath, panting ever so slightly, is hot and moist against her ear.
Rosa's eyes widen, finally realizing what was going on. Vyn was actually turned on by the song.
Before the thought fully sinks in Vyn's lips crash onto hers in a violent kiss, his tongue lashing hungrily against hers, their breaths mingling in their heady embrace.
Despite her initial confusion Rosa eventually found herself pulling Vyn by the lapels of his lab coat, returning his kissing with equally heated fervor.
She had yet to fully find out what exactly pushes her lover's buttons, but it was always a welcome break whenever something pushed one of his invisible little switches that turn the generally well-mannered, detached doctor to someone more...primal.
"If I tell you how I want to deal with my work stress, right now," Vyn murmured as he took a break from drawing wet, sloppy circles at the back of Rosa's nape with the tip of his tongue, "will you indulge me?"
Having reduced to putty in his arms, Rosa could only acquiesce. "Mm. Tell me?" She was subconsciously grinding her arousal against Vyn's knee.
Vyn licked his lips with his tongue sensuously, while maintaining eye contact with the woman who drove him quite mad.
"Let us do what you were...singing about."
===
The only sounds that could be heard in the dimly-lit NXX meeting room were muffled moaning and lewd, wet noises.
Vyn had assured Rosa that the power to the CCTV cameras were also cut along with the lights.
So there would be nothing to record the image of them lying on the cold, hard floor, with only Vyn's white lab coat spread out underneath them as a poor replacement for proper bedding.
There should also be nothing to record the unbelievably lewd manner she was grinding her sex against Vyn's hungry mouth, open just wide enough to let his tongue run along the length of her slit while two fingers gently nudge that sweet spot inside her in a maddening rhythm.
"Vyn..." Rosa moaned, feeling that tell-tale heavy, warm sensation gathering heavily in her loins.
The man underneath her pauses long enough to air out his need. "Please..."
Powering through the slowly-building wave of pleasure coursing throughout all her nerves, she lowers her mouth and wraps her wet lips around his shaft, feeling it twitch against the ministrations of her tongue.
She then lifts her lips just enough to let her tongue swirl around Vyn's tip, as her saliva-wet hand strokes the length left neglected by her hot lips.
"Please...do not stop," Vyn's voice was already strained with sheer need, his own hips now grinding against her mouth.
Vyn then switches up the licking to sucking and oh did that send Rosa over the edge with a cry--she was about to momentarily let go of his hardness when his hand firmly pushes her head back down, as he violently shot his seed directly into her throat.
===
The next day, Luke and Marius were going over the control panel in the NXX server room.
"Yeah. I really can't tell what happened for the main power to be cut." Luke said as he inspected the panels, running diagnostics trying to troubleshoot the cause of the mysterious power interruption that was isolated to the NXX meeting room only.
"At least the servers weren't affected." Marius crossed his arms. "This hasn't happened before. I wonder..."
"I will speak with the utility contractor later about this matter," Vyn said as he lifted the little vacuum robot out of its spot just right underneath one of the server racks. "Oh? This is a rather odd place for this thing to wander in."
Marius's brows furrowed. "Strange," then to Luke, he asked "Do you think this little guy may have tripped over something and caused the power to go out?"
"Mm. Dunno, can't say anything definite yet."
"Ah, poor little thing," Rosa cooed at the vacuum robot as she took it from Vyn's arms. "Being blamed for something...naughty."

The days that followed were strange, you had gotten used to earth and its strangeness. You were also spending as much time outside as you could, soaking up the sun rays and laying in the grass, sometimes walking through the fields. Martha even had you helping her with some flowerbeds 'weeding' humans were funny creatures. The white and pink flowers were acceptable but the little fluffy yellow ones and tiny blue ones were not? They were 'weeds' and had to be pulled from the ground. Martha had given you a strange look when you asked to keep them but got you a little trough all the same and helped you plant your weeds. They lived on your windowsill and you watered them every morning. Clark found it cute and even added some to it wanting to help.
You felt much better now and your breathing had settled. It was bliss residing with your alpha. You'd learned that he had a job as a reporter- a news writer. Those things weren't really mentioned at home which surprized you when you realised just how important they were and how much time it took up. And speaking of importance, you got your papers! Your official human documentation. A certificate of birth, because humans rewarded their young with paper on their birth you found it funny but your new family had been adamant you were given this reward for being birthed. You also got a number for social security recognition, a schooling achievement diploma? And a passport? So you could fly? Which didn't make much sense to you when you could do that anyway... Or would be able to once you were completely acclimatised to this planet. It had been Clark's friends- A bat who arranged it all, which was nice... If not odd you thought a bat was a winged mammal but perhaps there was a different bat hybrid you wasn't aware of. You were now unofficially, official in your human life.
When Clark was away you missed him, but didn't? Martha kept you busy, filling in the holes of your earthly education. You found her to be a sweet and funny woman, she was wholesome and kind. Never once shying away from you like you had expected. You lived with her for the moment a spare room in the farm house had been converted for you. For some reason she would not let you stay in the same room as your mate, she said it was a human thing. Not that, it stopped Clark from sneaking in at night and curling up in the bed with you soothing you and kissing you. He would always chuckle with you stating 'he wasn't human so its okay' whilst snuggling you sweetly scenting and murring at you until you fell asleep. You never felt safer then in the arms of your alpha, snuggling tight against him pressing kisses to his chest and rubbing your cheek on the curls that covered it, digging your nose into them and sniffing, breathing him in falling asleep.
Your bond was growing stronger and stronger as the days past, even if you only managed a few hours at night and in the morning with him. Clark had to explain some strange things, for some reason you were both to wear a ring? When humans found their mates they gave each other rings and wore them on the left ring fingers it meant they were mates? Married? Martha had been a little upset over it at first but Clark said it was best to do it this way, you could have your wedding later, for now he will wait. Martha had been persistent but in the end gave up, it was hard for her to face the reality that her son was not human and he was trying his best.
You were happier then you thought you'd be on a alien world, you'd acclimatised for the most part and found your own earthling way. Even if Martha and Clark found it strange you refused to eat anything brown or plain. Or meat.
The concept of eating animals was very disturbing for you. On krypton animals were not eaten, well not animals like on earth. Kryptonian's ate what earthlings would call insects, non sentient beings. But then again the insects here were... Tiny, surprizingly so. But Clark had taken it in his stride, if you didn't want to eat meat he wasn't going to force you... But he made you eat lots of what he called your 'leafy greens'... Which didn't make sense to you because many of the leafy greens should just be called greens because brocca-broccile- baby trees! Didn't have leaves neither did the little green balls! P's? You think he called them p's. Just when you began to loose hope for delicious sustenance he surprized you. Mangoes. You loved mangoes and grapes and apples! Fruit any fruit. Martha and your mate had taken you to a human grocery store and you'd been drawn to the fruit section.
Tumblr media
You walked into the store clutching at Clark's arm terrified, it was the first time being out and mingling with other humans. Once inside you looked about seeing a few humans scattered about the isles and relaxed. A wave of smells hit your senses making you cough.
"Breath, breath through it love... That's it good girl, good omega. Now hold on to me or the cart and stay with ma and me" Clark said rubbing your back leading you behind Martha walking past some special buys. After a few short minuets you relaxed and released Clark looking watching as the other humans walked about some with children some teenagers and even a few alone. The children drew your attention. Boys. Real little boys. Flesh and blood male children in little hats and shorts- clothing with cartoon race cars on them. You froze looking in awe. Felt the stutter.
"love?" he asked feeling you halt and tense. He instantly looked up and was on alert every bone in his body itching to protect you. To destroy what had spooked his tiny mate. He looked around for the danger but there was none, just a mother and her sons further down the isle.
"Look... Boys, young boys" you uttered slowly looking to the children holding a brightly coloured packet up to what you presumed was his mother pleading for the packet. The woman smiled and nodded letting them throw the packet into the cart and they continued down the isle.
"Yes love. I forget you've never seen a young boy have you" he hummed wrapping his arms around you from behind kissing the top of your head. You melted into him and shook your head still watching as the humans rounded the corner at the end of the shop.
"what do you think?" Clark whispered sweetly, amused and struck by the way you'd reacted to such a simple sight. A mother and sons, he forgot you'd never seen a boy before. He had been the last one on krypton.
"They... He was beautiful." you uttered slowly blinking still registering the image of a real live breathing male child.
"Ours will be better~ perfectly formed kryptonians a whole swarm" he said making you feel light and carefree, the thought of a litter- a true litter of your own pups made you quiver in anticipation.
"You-you'll give me pups?" you said softly trembling from head to toe. Clark hadn't made any inclination to wanting pups or to take your bond any further then the sweet caresses and cuddles he'd been gifting you. You'd not once spoke of anything beyond getting you settled into human life. Clark grinned awkwardly and nodded, he wasn't used to children being called pups and such, he was still coming to terms with the? Miscommunication between worlds and terminology.
"I will try my hardest, sons and daughters" he chuckled squeezing you tightly and pressed a long kiss to your head nuzzling your hair watching as the family disappeared. His heart swelled. A family, a real family. Children of his own in your little belly, with out fear of them being too much for you to handle. He could relax knowing you could handle their tiny kicks and nudges. You could survive a pregnancy and birth him healthy full term children. He had so many niggling little fears over trying to create himself a family with a human. Humans were weak, fragile, but with you? With you he could be exactly what he was. A kryptonian. A god among men. It was refreshing having someone he could truly relax around.
"Promise?" Came the tiny voice, breathless and pleading, huge doe like eyes blinking at him hopefully glazed in tears. He could feel the tremors through your bond, like someone twanging an elastic band, the vibrations of relief and excitement reaching him, tugging and pulling. It was as if you had feared he wouldn't give you children. And finally he had confirmed it.
"I promise little omega, as soon as I'm able you will be round and heavy~" watching as your eye grew wide and you purred at him rubbing your cheek to his as he craned down to kiss you, then scented him under his jaw. With an adorable flush and melodious gasp you pulled back looking around worried someone would know you'd scented your alpha.
"shh remember humans don't understand, they don't know what you did sweet pea" he uttered trying to sooth you. You had explained that scenting was seen as very private. It was... Like mating- the prequel to meeting, scenting was strengthening your bond and extremely intimate. To be caught doing it out side? It was very frowned upon, on krypton you'd get less disapproval if he fucked you out in the open!
"do not call me a p.. They are wretched things!... Call me... Something yummy" you complained not yet being aware that a sweet pea was a flower... And he wasn't calling you and actual pea.
"I apologise... You can be my little cookie?" he chuckled slowly it wasn't that he was laughing at you but he found it endearing how straight forward you were. If you didn't like something you told him out right. It was a nice change, you didn't seem to understand the whole human political correctness and subtlety. Your reasoning with Clark was that you could both feel the others feelings through the bond, so what was the point in lying. That would just complicate things. And he couldn't argue with your logic.
"what is a cookie?" you asked tipping your head to the side curiously. He did burst out laughing at that and shook his head squeezing you tight. Tighter then any human could handle, but that was part of the beauty in your relationship. You wasn't human, wasn't breakable. He could fully relax and touch you without fear of harming you. You were impenetrable... Well in that sense anyway~
"Something very sweet and delicious I promise~" he said kissing your head once more and ushered you down the isle slowly trying to find his mother, but still let you look around. You were curious and wanted to explore your new home planet and he wont ruin your first venture.
"Clark? Clark come and help me- I cant reach the milk! Its at the back again!" Martha said quietly you smiled. It took a lot of coaxing but you had indeed tried what Clark had explained as 'cow juice' and had developed a taste for it. So Martha had promised you milk every day if you liked. Which you did like. A lot. Clark pressed another kiss to you and walked off towards the milk refrigerators expecting you to follow.
You made to follow but a sweet scent hit you and you stopped mid step. It was wonderful and ripe, sweet and succulent. You pivoted and followed without much thought. Your feet found there way twisting around the display of 'leafy greens' to a bright colourful isle. You salivated at the smells. There were so many intoxicating scents you didn't know what to look at first.
You pressed a hand on a small net package full of strange green fuzzy balls. Kiwi's? You read and scrunched your face up at the peculiar name. Then plucked the bag up and held it to your nose sniffing. They smelled divine, like a type of food from home. Okriin a small sour sweet treat given to children on their birthing date. You sniffed again and almost cried. It was so similar but so different sweeter and fuller in the scent. You cautiously sniffed again and closed your eyes before tentativly prodding it with your tongue wanting to see if it tasted the same.
"y/n? Y/n?!- oh god there you are? What are you doing? You almost gave me a heart attack" Clark said racing towards you his mother behind him with the cart. He slid to a stop and blinked at you. As you scrunched up your nose.
"The texture of these are... Not very nice?" you said naively moving for the fruit again sticking your tongue out once more trying to discern if it was edible like this. Clark moved quickly gasping holding your hands that had the.. Kiwi's in it.
"no, no.. No we- you don't eat them like that... You peel them and eat the inside, and we don't lick things in the shop okay?" he explained with a teasing to his voice. Martha chuckled into her chest she couldn't help it, you were extremely cute.
"But? Then how do you know if you like it if you don't taste?" You frowned as Martha stifled a laugh. But she quickly curbed herself when you looked serious and a little upset. You didn't find it funny food was serious and had always been rationed, you were allowed only the portion you needed to stay healthy back home. Nothing more unless you could grow it.
"You buy it and eat it at home, then we can come and get more" Clark said drawing your attention once more. Your frown deepened. More? You could come back? That didn't sound right... or fair, Martha normally made one trip a week on the same day... wasn't that her alotted time for food shopping? Or was it by choice?
"More? But isn't there rules on how many trips a household makes?" You asked genuinely confused looking from your mate to his mother then back again. They both looked a little shocked by the idea of not being allowed to get food when they needed to. Martha even looked sad, shaking her head looking down.
"No love, there isn't... is there on kry-back home?" Clark asked, he almost sounded offended by the thought of being told when you can and cant go shopping.
"Yes. We have fifteen minuets for every member of your house hold that your shopping for and an alotted time every two weeks to pick up your rations" you said without batting an eyelash. Clark drew a deep breath, he had to admit he didn't like what he was hearing about your shared home planet. He found himself more and more relieved you were here with him and not in that? Authoritarian place.
"Did you lick anything else?" He said trying to move away from the topic, he was trying to get you used to this planet and this was your first time out and about in town. He wanted to move on, to let you be free and explore... preferably with him beside you.
"...If I do can we take it home?" You said tipping your head to him with a cheek grin. He chuckled and rounded you placing an arm around your waist and pokeing under your ribs in a freshly discovered tickle spot making you giggle.
"Silly thing you don't have to lick things for us to buy them, I suppose you liked the smell huh?" He enquired nodding to the Kiwis still clutched protectively in your hands.
"Yes it.. Its like something from home- a treat we had on our birthing day..." you nodded looking down plucking at the bright orange netting that kept four of the fuzzy fruit together.
"Then we shall get two packets love" he said plucking another pack of kiwis and placing them in the cart, he then looked to you as you scanned the isle still indulging in the amazing mix of smells and colours.
"Pick out a few more things to try, the mangoes are nice and juicy I think you'd like them." He said motioning to the colourful sweet smelling displays.
"R-really I can pick some?" You asked nervously twiddling your fingers and pulling onto the sleeves of your top.
"Yes love we don't ration here you can pick a few things to try, just promise me you wont lick any of it... at least not until we get to the car"  he said grinning as you nodded enthusiastically looking around suddenly full of childish glee. God help him when you try some candy, he has the feeling you'll have a sweet tooth.
"I promise!" You said happily and ran off to some of the other fruit that smelt divine and quickly picked a few.
Once you got home you watched Clark and Martha make a small platter of fruit for you. And you'd fallen inlove! Mangoes and pears were your favourite,  you didn't like grapefruit and should have listened when they told you not to eat a lemon... lemons were for juicing and flavouring other food, not for eating.

You smiled as you mulled over the day, that was the first day you saw the civilisation of your new home. Humans were free and unorganised. Chaotic but at the same time had made their own way to navigate the chaos of their world and one another. They were very similar to your kind. But it was hard, frightening! Suddenly you could do what you wanted when you wanted. Krypton in its desperation had taken many choices away, even the basic ones. Like how much food you could have per household, how many times you could visit the shopping districts or medical bays. You had laws on how much water you used, who could go where and when. and suddenly all that structure- all those rules were gone. You were to do as you pleased?
It was a frightening concept.
You padded across the small space to the barn with tentative steps, quivering knees. Clark was behind you a few feet trying to give you space, yet at the same time he was pressing himself though the bond. Warm and comforting reassuring you. He had learned in the past week that he could send messages through the bond. Almost whispers it was weird you didn't hear anything but you could feel his words, feel his probing. His soul was apart of you and your soul apart of him now. And you could communicate in such a deep way it- you almost felt as if you were one being.
Today you had decided to go through the ships cargo hold and start removing some things up to your room. It had been something you put off but it was time to begin answering more questions, time to give our alpha his heirlooms and books. Your job now was to help him learn all about krypton and its past.
Clark darted forward opening the doors to the barn letting you and Martha in. You'd decided to let Martha help, she deserved it she was your surrogate mother now after all. Last week she'd started asking you to call her Ma too.
You moved towards the tarp covering the ship and pulled at it making the crinkling plastic fall the  inched forward pressing a hand to the door to the pod. You froze, flashes of the moment you'd been wrestled into the pod crossed your mind. The fear and agony of knowing you were going to be there end. Kill your parents. But it was to late, it had been too late then and it was too late now.
"Omega? Are you alright?" Clark said standing behind you curling one arm around your frame, the thick forearm resting over your tummy at your waist.
"Yes, its... The last time saw this was when" you trailed softly, you knew he could feel the fear and despair as you replayed those final moments with your family over and over. You hand been strong enough to hold on to your mother or father. You hadn't had enough grip to pull them into the ship with you, and your lack of strength cost them their lives.
Clark murred into your shoulder, his other hand stretching out smoothing his palm over yours pinning it you the surface of the door. He could taste the anxiety, the overwhelming frantic terror that had overcome you as your bond soured your memories haunted you. In the night you'd cry out for them and jolt awake sobbing your heart out. But you'd never spoke about what ha actually happened.
"D-do you want to talk about it?" He said quietly pressing his chest to your back needing to touch his sweet omega, the overwhelming drive to comfort you was almost painful.
"I don't think it would help... I shouldn't feel bad, its what i had been commissioned for. We all new our purpose" Clark paused. What? You had barely spoke about krypton, but from what you had mentioned he had a very... unimpressed view of it. The world sounded totalitarian and harsh everyone leading a hard life of duty. But he had never pushed you, he could tell you still mourned the planet despite its shortcomings.
"C-commissioned? Purpose? What do you mean?" Martha muttered moving closer to you both. She too was curious, her and Clark never thought they would have this chance, that they could learn everything about the planet of his birth or his race. But you were it. Their answers a living breathing kryptonian that had resided on krypton! You knew everything they wanted to know and probably more. They had been trying to hold back their questions it would seem that you may finally be up to answering them.
"Krypton is... Was like... North Korea? The one shut off from the world? But... stranger, its hard to explain without knowing our history we had our reasons and failures" you trailed off, you was unsure where to start, the troubled past of your race was woven into its present, well not present as today but... the final era of krypton. Everything leading up to the day you were shipped off from the planet. There were complications, twists and turns that you might not be able to explain properly.
"Please, I'd like to know" his voice was small and sweet, almost naïve in a sense. You got the feeling of a curious desperation from your bond. It made you grin, he was trying so hard to hold back for your sake, he truly was the perfect mate both considerate and loving, there was a gentleness about him that many alphas are said to have lacked. It must come from being raised on this planet, growing up around being so much weaker then he is that has moulded him to hold such a sweet sense of  nurturing. After all your mate was the golden son, a living breathing god on earth.
"I know... come I have books and artefacts in the cargo hold, I will give them to you and you can read" you said with a shy smile, you warm giddy feelings traveling along you bond making him murr once more managing to hit the all important melodious sound that was the unique soul song you'd both began naturally harmonizing. You stood and pulled from Clark and walking a small way down the ship. You pulled a hidden hatch open jerking a lever up and then pulled and twisted before releasing. You were quite impressed at how easily you'd done it. The suns rays had made you immensely strong already. Soon your be flying hopefully!
Clark hovered over you, making sure to stand in between the ship and his mother. A large gust of air and a whirring sound resounded and you stepped back. There were several clunk's and metallic creaks then the whole side of the craft pealed away like a set of curtains a thick corsetina of metal revealed a large cargo hold the three of you could just fit in.
There were shelves and cases piled high inside. All of krypton's most valuable artefacts, your whole history in the small stalagmite keys. Just like the one Clark had been sent to earth with. But these held information, schematics of incredible tech, medicines and encyclopaedia's. Not only about krypton but other planets and races that could cause a threat.
The there were the texts for your pups. The very same you had used to study as a child. You tip toed inside looking around feeling your heart break. This was all that was left of a whole civilization. A case of ceremonial robes, some crown jewels. Seeds for a few important plants- even a small rack with some mature plants that were being grown in a small self sustained pod. It was a true treasure trove.
"Wow this is? Incredible"
"Everything in here is... significant to our kind- here these are the books to start with they will tell you what krypton went through... a child's guide to our history" you said scooping up the books you'd studied and handed them to Clark. He moved slowly taking them from you running his fingers over the image on the book.
You walked off around a small shelf trying to find your chest- the things your parents had been allowed to pack for you. You had to find it and get over those emotional tugging in your chest. You had a lot to explain and had to have a clear head on your shoulders.
Martha stood close by the exit as she watched the two of you potter about the ship. It was both frightening and exhilarating for her. She was glad they had thought about all this, about giving both you and Clark things to remember krypton by. She moved to step behind Clark peeking at the book he was flicking through and was surprized to find she could read it. Everything was in perfect English.
"This is? Are they all in English?" She asked turning to you who was still wandering around becoming upset clearly looking for something in particular.
"Yes, they needed to make sure kal-clark would be able to read it" you said comeing around the other side of the shelves and stood beside them both. Clark turned around eyeing the book seeing what looked like propaganda filling the pages. It was disconcerting he was slowly becoming aware that krypton was not the magical place he had envisioned but a very draconian type of civilization. He didn't want to read pages of scripted drivel. He wanted the truth. He closed the book and eyed you then held to book out to you.
"I'd like to learn from you... if its not to much to ask love? These books will paint a rosey picture, I want to know the reality what people actually thought of our planet" he said still offering you the book. You held your breath debating for a moment, but finally breathed out a sigh and took the book from him. Agreeing.
You moved to the side of the ship and sat down letting your feet rest on the steps. Clark and Martha followed your lead taking seats beside you.
You kept quiet for a moment pondering over what was most important to start with. Your evolution. Then your genealogy, the great mistake and population crisis and the laziness that followed. The selfishness and finally his own story, the story of the golden sons escape and the new age. The final short 31 year age. And your delivery.
You opened the page showing some images of the first ever 'proper kryptonians' and held it open letting both Martha and Clark lean over to see. It was like a family story time.
"Okay... So kryptonians evolved just like humans did millions of years ago.  But unlike humans we kept more of our animal like instincts, we retained pack mentality" you said pointing out the different images of the evolution.
"Alpha and omega's?" Clark asked curiously as his eyes scanned the page. There was a list for each. Alpha were bigger and stronger, more dominant and protective, fierce and very potent. They were more economic and able to draw more power from little radiation. Omega petite, defensive, skittish and shy. Nurturing and extremely fertile. Submissive.
"Yes and betas they aren't an extreme like omega and alpha. They are more balanced but much less fertile. We have one mate, one soul bond once its made you cant deny it, but its also a problem." You flipped a few pages to the mate bond section where there were a few images of couples and some more little bullet points. Of which you covertly covered, they didn't need to know about sex or knots or heat yet... you would explain to Clark later... alone.
You flushed unable to stop your mind wandering. Images of you finally bonding with Clark, the undulating hips and breathy moans resounding in your ears. All leading to a great finale of his bite, his canines would prick your skin clamping down not only marking you but to hold you still as his cock swelled and pressed your walls tight trapping you to his huge frame. It was said to be painful and euphoric the feeling of absolute unity. Apparantly omegas can panic when their alpha knots them for the first time, the bite would make you freeze and still for him enough to fully penetrate you. He'd knot you for a long while tying you to him both mind body and soul as he saturated your insides claiming your body for himself.  You swallowed, nervously. You couldn't wait to finally be claimed, but you were also nervous. He was large even for an alpha and there was no doubt in your minds he was well proportioned.
Clark noticed you begin to blush and squirm, your scent changing becoming both sweeter and musky he leant over you trying to peek at what you were hiding. He snuck a hand around behind you and tried pulling on your elbow to see what your were trying to hide.
"Oh no come on love what are you hiding there?" He teased and pulled tugging you closer making you whine and pull back.
"No that's nothing just its err our sex education and we don't need to go into that yet!" At the mention of sex Clark stiffened and released your elbow but remained wrapped around you.
"Oh right well then.. we know all about that so there no need to... explore that topic" Clark said flushing brightly but you paused... should you tell him?
"Well err you... you will have to there are.. some difference to having sex with... others then your mate, things are... different when your body knows it can impregnate its partner. So you need to err... I've got books for you to read in private" you flustered flicking your eyes quickly from Martha to your mate trying hard not to imagine him but ass naked stroking his cock readying himself to mount you. Clark didn't seem to realise you were becoming nervous and quickly spoke up slightly confused by the way you'd worded your statement. But then again he found a lot of the things you said strange. You wored things differently, and sometimes used the wrong words altogether! As much as krypton prepared you it sort of hadn't? Your English was good but... Not completely accurate.
"Different when you can impregnate? What's that supposed to mean, I've had sex... It was normal human sex" you whined and lowered your head feeling a little upset. Your mate almost sounded offended, like you'd undermined him or doubted his ability... You felt a little shamed over it, you hadn't intended to insult him. You turned to him your panic of displeasing him washed away your nerves of having the sex talk. You rested a hand on his thigh squeezing it before beginning  to explain that you wasn't belittling him it was just genetics.
"You cannot conceive with anyone other then your soul mate... It just doesn't happen. Is impossible, we were taught that its because your genes are only compatible with that of your mate, your other half. Pairings aren't always omega and alpha either, they can be anyone with anyone, but most alphas have an omega" you said trying not to go into detail but Clark merly blinked at you nodding wanting you to continue as he soaked up every word.
"And there are... Things that... Happen during sex with your soul mate, your err... Anatomy changes... And err expands? I suppose? Our bodies do what they must to... To try and... Conceive.." you finally stuttered through the images your mind conjured. Mind drifting to all the uncomfortable classes full of giggling girls and unamused teachers explaining knotting and ejaculation with a huge image of a penis on the board... You flushed word on the school playground used to be the size of a balled fist was the size of your mates knot. You swallowed eyeing Clarks hands, though not balled up he had then curled up loosely. You clenched, for some reason the thought of him being such a large male made you very ,very excited and anxious. The larger a male the more chance there was at having a successful mating because he would be deeper and nothing would escape. Fuck.
You shook your head swallowing dryly. Now was not the time, thoughts like that were dangerous and could trigger a heat, something you didn't want to happen until he was aware of what was to come. You wanted him to be fully aware of heats, ruts knotting the full process before in sighting anything. He was still immensely stringer than you, if he were to have you now and panic whislt knotting he could pull free and tear you. And you didn't want that.
"soo i get a... Super erection or something?" he said with a huge smile both teasing and boasting, sitting up straighter unknowingly posturing, preening like a little peacock as humans would say. You made to reply flushing a deeper red, beginning to feel a tad dizzy with all this blood rushing to your head. But luckily Martha interrupted and waved her hands making a slicing motion trying to literally cut the conversation short.
"Right okay! Enough of all that" she said managing to move your arms that were still covering the very crude generic drawings of an alphas cock, you moved letting the human turn the page which lead to the next stage of your peoples history.
"But Ma?!" Clark complained eyes loosing their amused shimmer only for him to pout at the human clearly upset that he wont be having a full sex talk with you. And you couldn't be more thankfull because you only had books and a school sex education to go by, you'd never actually seen a real one before, so didn't really have any grounds to be teaching anyone anything about them. Least of all your much older, more experiance alpha mate.
"But nothing Clark, she said she has a book so you can read the damn book! There will be no hanky panky anytime soon do you understand me?" she scolded in a final motherly tone making you giggle into your hand. Your alpha was very cute when he pouted, blue eyes wide and a perfect downturned frown on his lips, the pink bottom lip pressed forward in a sweet gesture. How the perfectly masculine sharp angular male could be both stunning and adorable was beyond you. But he was just perfect.
"Yes Ma" he sighed looking more and more disheartened but then nudged your side and sent you a wink before raising his brows suggestively. You squeaked and looked to the book in your lap once more feeling your ears go red under his provocative gaze. He huffed a quiet chuckle and purred low in his chest. You felt it the warm yet prickly sensation of your mate. Is was playfull, like when someone lightly ghosts a finger over your inner arm? A slight tickling sensation that made your skin goose bump and tingle. You knew this feeling well, you had been pleased to know your alpha wasn't all work and no play. He was actually a very fun loving man, he liked teasing you playfully and always managed to make you laugh or blush. He enjoyed you being both happy and flushed they seemed to be his favoured reactions and he would go out of his way to cause them.
------------------------------------
Martha had said he just seemed happier, younger like a little teenager again. But this time without all the angst. Like you had somehow drawn away the worries he had. Apparantly as he took the mantle of superman he had lost himself along the way. He wasn't cruel or mean but he was stressed. Martha had said he was beginning to question himself, ask if it was worth it, if anything was worth it anymore. He took on more and more responsibility and was working himself into the ground. But now he wasn't?
He had you to come home too, he had something more to fight for. She said Clark saw you as his reward in a sense. You were his future, the life he had always wanted but could never hope for. Martha said you'd saved him. You wasn't sure if you really believed her, how could you save him when all you have done is sleep and refuse to eat anything other then fruit.
"Clark you might be more convincing if you wiped that smirk off your face... I'm serious, let y/n settle before risking any children okay?" the woman deadpanned making him shrug and chuckle at her.
"Aw that's no fun I already promised. Didn't I sweetheart?" he teased still eyeing you managing to ignore his mothers scathing look as he tried to get you to look at him again. And like an idiot you did spare him a quick glance, well you thought it was quick but somehow he managed to wink at you again blowing you an over exaggerated kiss.
"Clark Joseph Kent!" Martha snipped quickly a much firmer warning in place making him sigh and roll his eyes at his mothers use of his full name. He could see her point but he had to admit he was a little put out with her.. His mother had an issue with your age, even though your twenty two in earth terms you still did look the part of a teen all be it a nineteen year old, but teen none the less. She was uncomfortable with the idea of him bedding you and wanted you both to wait. But Clark didn't have an issue with it, you were his omega. He was your alpha and neither you or he were humans. So why live your lives by human rules? Besides the paperwork was all set up. Legally your not a minor here you just look young, many women did.
"Yes, yes fine, no sex yet jeez" he acquiesced giving in for the moment not needing another lecture. As much as he loved his mother; and he truly did. But his sex life was none of her business and he will fuck you when you were ready and willing and there was nothing that will get in the way of that. Not even the woman who raised him.
"Glad to hear it son. Oh don't give me that look you know it makes sense... Now dear why don't you continue, both Clark and i would love to here about your history" Martha scolded then rolled her eyes at her supposed 'adult' son who was pouting. You smiled uneasy but nodded. You learned quickly that Martha ruled the roost, but it was still strange for you to watch. You'd been raised to see Kal as a god- a saviour and your races true hope. Watching the man you'd all but worshipped be scolded by a human was... confusing. But you just let it be, you were realising humans were much more complicated then you were lead to belive.
"yes of course..." you paused clearing your throat quickly looking at the open page then flipped it seeing the next images. The ships, and graph of births declining... the population crisis, the beginning of the mighty kryptonians demise.
"When our people began scouting the galaxy less and less found their soulmates because we were soo scattered and so pairings dropped and so did births which began effecting economy and age gap parings suffered because their mates werent being born. Suddenly things took a nose dive mates weren't being born families were suddenly being cut short and many bloodlines died off... Over sixty percent of noble houses were wiped out in three decades, suicides were on the rise there was no point to life if you couldn't be happy or have a family" you explained flipping another page letting the both of them get their fill. Both pages were full of house crests and a little information on what each one represented, what their houses did for krypton notable mentions and such.
You flipped again this time showing images of the amniotic chambers. Huge glass towers that grew 'artificial' kryptonians. It was a leap forward in science. They had learned to play god, create life without any comprises. Your own eyes scanned the image a small foetus in a sack and a few around it larger and more developed. It was how your own life began.
"We turned our attention to a amniotic chambers, scientists and doctors could suddenly make anyone children! Mates or not. There was a huge baby boom but, it did nothing for the planet or its people" you explained slowly even saying it sounded strange now that you were older, but then again you'd been taught that this had been wrong. This it was the mistake that had started krypton's downfall. You'd been raised in the old ways, with old values.
"Over time it was seen as primitive to actually seek out your mate and birth a child naturally even having sex became pointless. Why go through that pain when you could have one made and delivered to you when its born?"
"So they were farming babies?" Martha asked incredulously unable to fathom such a thing. It was far fetched, the idea to make fake children? To be able to have a child without carrying them or birthing them but they were your own flesh and blood?
"Yes Ma, but more then that... when we turned our back on natural birth and mates we lost a lot of ourselves and had to use a codex to give the new generations traits and keep some semblance of our race instincts... but even that became political all birthed children had to become more beneficial to society. Loyal, strong, intelligent, beautiful, compassionate, nurturing. And at the same time you could choose the look of your child, their sex, their presentation." You explained voice getting smaller as you spoke it was uncomfortable to talk about parents could determine everything about you. Your sex, pigmentation personality, hell your parents could choose specific moles and birthmarks of they wanted a late 'morphing' session a few weeks before you were born.
"Presentation?" Martha frowned not fully understanding. You nodded to her sparing a glance before quickly looking away. It was strange explaining anything that remotely eluded to pairings and mating with her. She was a human and didn't understand. You found it unnerving, everyone just knew these things back home.
She didn't understand it and sometimes it frustrated her making her snip at you and Clark. She didn't mean to but it was just hard for her to fathom a race evolving and still retain some animal primitive instincts. Humans didn't keep much of theirs, the only ones you were aware of was their self preservation- their undeniable need to stay alive for as long as possible apart from that? They had escaped everything else. The bottom line was humans didn't have soul mates and Kryptonians did, and no matter how much the woman wished Clark was a human, he wasn't and he never would be. Martha had been able to ignore it on a day to day basis. To all intents and purposes when Clark wasn't in his suit she could pretend he was normal. Until you came along.
Not that you think she didn't like you, because she loved you, you were sure of it. It was just, sometimes Martha had to look away as you and Clark bonded. She didn't see mates, she saw her adult son fawning over a love struck teen.
Tumblr media
"Will they be alpha, beta, omega or a new non-type" you hummed quietly trying not to dwell on the subject not wanting to upset her. Martha drew in a deep breath and nodded to you soaking up the information. You could see she was trying, she wanted to understand it was difficult for her.
"So if I wanted a blue eyed blonde boy I just had to say?" She said veering off topic slightly wanting to move on swiftly but didn't want to out right say 'lets talk about something else'
"Sort off, eyes can only be dark. Blue, green, pink, grey and amber eyes were traits only found in true borns, these traits died out. Everyone had a dark brown or black eyes occasionally you could have a very dark blue or green but bearly noticeable"  you brushed over the topic as quickly as you could whislt still giving a few extra details. Clark grinned at you and made a passing comment of 'that's why my eyes fascinated you soo much?' Both he and Martha chuckled as the comment made you flush and nod slightly. It was true, you'd been enamoured with his eyes never having seen blue before... and they were soo blue it was like looking into the purest cleanest pools of water your ever seen! Gorgeous and vibrant. it had been a little ongoing tease of Clarks commenting that you were 'staring again' when ever he caught you gazeing at his azure crystal clear eyes.
"Krypton was quickly overpopulated and began draining our planets resources quicker, then they looked to the core... the beating heart of the planet" you said turning the page adamant you were not going to be caught up eyeing him again for the hundredth time today.
"And they drained it?" Clark said leaning mover your shoulder looking at the diagram of krypton that briefly explained how the core was depleted and what a calamity it was.
"Yes. It took a millennia but we bled our planet dry... It became a dry desolate place but had huge glistening cities! Technology you could only dream of! Krypton was the envy of many other planets, our military might alone ended wars in days..." Clark frowned. Military? So not only did krypton become a harsh dictatorship they had been going to war? Enough that they were a feared adversary?
You winced as Clarks face darkened at the mention of war. He didn't like fighting and killing but krypton? In its hay day was the front runner. Its military protected the planet but also dominated. It you wanted to win a war it was the kryptonians you wanted on your team, your soldiers were bred for war, just like the omegas were bred for breeding. Clark growled, eyes skimming the page that praised and boasted about the great many wars that they had won, the enemies they had crushed. You swallowed and flipped a few pages quickly skipping the small chapter on the military past.
You skimmed the next page quickly, there were no images on the next few pages. You paused remembering when you'd first worked studied this chapter. You'd been around eight years old, sitting in Mrs Nirn's class chewing your pen as you read ahead zoning out.
You had wanted to understand why things were so different from what your parents upbringing had been. You wanted to know why there were no little boys in your class, why were the lights off? Why couldn't you have a little sister like your father? Everytime you asked an adult they always vaguely mentioned 'things aren't how they were before' but no one had ever answered your follow up questions 'before what? What happened?'  And this was the chapter that explained everything, that shed light on your peoples recent history.
Tumblr media
"Love? Mate are you okay?" Clark asked worriedly watching as you seemed to drift off into your own little world. You jumped and faced him as his warm palm met with your back, slow soothing circles rubbing your tense form slowly. You smiled uneasily and nodded to him before taking a deep breath. He had to know, it was your duty to teach him what happened. It was your place to enlighten him on his own importance, he had a right to know how he got to earth.
"W-We began racing towards calamity there was huge protests, people realised we were not going to last and there would be no escape. But the government decided to call a meeting over it- Jor El decided to plead the council to stop the mining but he was ignored the meeting was just for show a ruse to try and quell the masses... Then Lara began pleading with them to think of the consequences" you said quickly finding your voice again recounting the events that began his own story, the role his parents had played in the prolonged survival of the planet and that ultimately lead you to him.
"My parents?" He said slowly recognising their names once more. You nodded glancing to Martha, you didn't really want to keep bringing up your alphas birth parents in front of the woman you didn't want her to get upset or think she was any less significant. Lara may have birthed your mate. But Martha had raised him, shaped him into the glorious gentle and caring male that he was. Martha seemed to know you were worrying over upsetting her and smiled encouragingly before  placing a reassuring hand on your back below Clarks patting you sweetly.
"I'd like to know too dear, I want to know about the people who gave me my son" she cooed slowly making you bite your lip and take a deep breath muttering a meek 'okay if your sure' under your breath.
"They were strong and kind, serious though and realistic. They both avidly protested about the continued abuse of the planet and warned about the imminent destruction of krypton... it wasn't until to coup that anyone new why."
"Why? What was the reason?" Clark said eagerly paying you his full attention. He was both excited and anxious about learning of his actual parents, everything he thought about krypton seemed to be wrong. On a whole he'd convinced himself that his home planet was almost a mythical place that was good and pure perfect! But it was the complete opposite, he didn't want his fantasy of perfect parents to be shattered too. And there was always the fear he'd been abandoned simply because he was an unwanted child or defective in some way.
"She was pregnant with the first natural son of krypton. They didn't want you to be born just to die after a few weeks of life. You were born in your family home. No doctors or machinery, nothing but your mother and father." Clark let out a breath soaking in the information. Zod was right. Jor was telling the truth? He truly was the first natural born kryptonian? It was there in black and white! Not hear say! He didn't have much time to relish in the relief as you continued quickly.
"A few days after your birth Zod made his move to attack the council, his move was partly spurred on by the civil unrest and protests all over the planet." Another few pages were turned as you bypassed all the nitty gritty details of the coup and violence, the protests  and downfall of many proud houses dragged out of their homes, the riots and looting as the military began fighting internally and the police force all but abandoned their duty.
"My birthday?" Clark said lightly dragging his fingers over an image of himself. A still taken from the footage of his birth, he was in a small oval crib with a blanket over his waist and lower half. Beside him was Lara and Jor watching over him. And at the top of the page a date. Both in kryptonian and earths calendar.
"May? I was born in May? Ma look!" He said sniffing quietly looking at the page in awe. That was him, his parents! They were there! He gazed at the image excitedly, he never new his real birthdate, his parents had guessed but here it was. The exact date! His actual real birthday. He wasn't an Aries. He was a Taurus. He never believed in star signs but, somehow he felt better knowing.
"I see that son, you were perfect and so tiny~" she said slightly tearful herself. This was bittersweet, she had to listen and watch as her son, the boy she raised found out the truth of how he came to her. She didn't doubt he loved her but she was always frightened of him leaving her behind in a way, the terror of him forgetting her and choosing someone else replacing her was almost too much. But at the same time Martha owed a lot to the couple that had entrusted her with their son, she would be lying if she wasn't curious about them and the reason Clark was here.
Tumblr media
"Your father in an effort to protect you entered the amniotic chamber and stole the codex. He was hunted for it but by the time anyone could intervene or arrest him it was to late. He had sealed the codex inside of his son. He was the final kryptonian so should be able to carry all traits." You explained turning the next page seeing the image of the chamber Jor ha infiltrated. The codex sitting proudly in place.
"He.. he risked his life? To save me?" Clark breathed out barely whispering the words as he leant forward clasping his hands together tightly. You faltered and looked to him shocked, he hadn't known? You all new that Kal was sent to earth with a stalagmite key with his fathers conscious, had Clark not managed to activate it? Here were ships all over this planet, kryptonians had tried to settle here but... For some reason they just couldn't seem to survive for long. No one knows why, connection was lost.
"He... Gave his life to save you. Zod was the one who caught onto your fathers plan and... He confronted him and your mother. Tried to kill you, your existence; the proof of a natural born was... it would have destroyed his cause... it would have proved him wrong" you uttered slowly unsure how you could tell him the truth without upsetting him, it was a delicate matter. Clark ushered you closer managing to tuck you under his arm holding you as close as he could to his side, then began murring out at you as he felt the nerves, the tangled feelings of fear , grief regret and sorrow. Each one coiling around the other making for an uncertain overbearing pull.
You didn't mean to but you were tugging the bond, looking for approval. Nervously searching for some inclination that he was alright. Prodding at him tentatively trying to peak at his feelings. But you were still uncertain of how to do it without being pushy? On krypton it was said to be unseemly to pry at your mate, normally things flowed freely to forcefully take a look deeper into your mate was... rude and could be construed as not trusting your mate.
Clark didn't know that though. Was it bad? Cruel of you to omit that little social detail so he wouldn't be annoyed at you for it? Was it manipulating? Clark hummed leaning his head ontop of yours, resting his cheek on your crown and placed a sweet kiss to your hair.
"I know... I- he told me on the ship when I found out about krypton... when he told me of mates" he said calmly. You released a low whine nodding to him purring up at him as your shoulders relaxed, slumping once more in relief. You'd been wound up over that. It wasn't like his father would be alive now anyway, but telling him of his families demise wasn't really something you took pleasure in.
"O-oh.. okay well then...err your father was a warrior and fought him, he gave your mother enough time for her to launch your ship. Zod finally over came your father but it was too late, you were almost out of the atmosphere." You swallowed steeling yourself as you continued your tale, recounting the incredible events that had taken place, changing history and the fate of your race.
"Zod instructed all his units to shoot you down, but your mother had used a incredibly illegal amount of resources to make sure your ship's boosters and armed defences were at peak and you made it out"
"So That's really how I left? During all that? I thought Jor had dramatized it... but he hadn't and.." Clark trailed off in thought. He was telling the truth he had been a little sceptical, he couldn't help it he had over thought it afterwards. Managing to think himself into doubting Jor's story picking at it, almost convincing himself the story was a little too convenient.
"It got worse, zod and his men were sent to the phantom zone and your mother was tried for treason. But everything stopped when the footage came through." Martha who had remained quiet listening to you patiently taking in the new information.
"Of what?"
"Clarks birth, it was the first time in centuries anyone had managed to naturally birth a son, a true born son. It was big news and that when the council began to listen, really listen" you shrugged unsure how to explain the magnitude of what Clarks birth actually meant. Unless you were a krypton native you just didn't get it. You  finally closed the book and held it in your lap eyeing both Clark and Martha.
"Then the laws changed krypton accepted its fate, it would die. But not without hope for its race to continue. And that's how we ended up as we were... the draconian backwards planet." You didn't go into detail, over the past few weeks you'd let things slip. Martha and Clark both shared a look. You were almost ashamed of your home. The differences between the totalitarian measures your people resorted to were frowned upon in this country. You felt stupid in a sense. You knew it was only natural to be slightly out of touch on this new home but? You just hadn't realised how much. The freedom and basic human right's you'd been denied! You were taught to belive in Kal. He was effectively used as propaganda, as a reward. If your good and obedient he will accept you. If not? Then you will fail both him and your race.
"The council watched you used as much energy as it could spare to watch you grow. Then you presented! Alpha, just as we'd hoped. Overnight everything changed again, we had hope and direction. Children were commissioned once more females only, and only women that have a recessive omega gene were allowed to have a child..." you reiterated the fact that females were the only gender allowed to be created. It was the most important rule of your people in the end. Only a female omega could replenish a race.
"But couldn't you make them omega? You said you could choose things like that?" Martha asked frowning not following. You cursed and shook your head you knew you'd confuse them somehow by leaving something out. It was difficult trying to remember all the details about the last chaotic years of krypton.
"No, with the codex gone we couldn't control the genes as much, we could force the child to be female but that was about it. They tried but it was hard creating a definite omega no one could really tell until we presented many were betas or the non type there were very few of us. It was just pot luck." And it was pot luck, out of one hundred girls only fifteen to seventeen would be omega. If the percentage were over that in a generation then it was seen as a 'bumper crop'
"We were made and raised to be your omega. Every one of us was taught about earthling ways. Taught about how to birth and raise pups."
"You were raised to be my mate?" Clark said frowning. He found it strange. You bit your lip chewing on it. You debated on how much he really needed to know, because  honestly now you were here? And experienced earth first hand, now you'd met and spent time with your alpha. You understood how... creepy it would be? But then again if you lied he could realise you had when he reads more of the books here. You drew another breath releasing your lip from between your teeth and hissed quietly deciding it would be best to tell him.
"Yes. Our whole education was based on you and was meant to prepare us for life on earth. You have to understand, you were worshipped like a god. You had the abilities of our earliest ancestors." You began trying to dull down the in depth education you'd received about his upbringing and family. Yet still make him understand just how ingrained he was in your upbringing.
"You are? The epitome of the perfect kryptonian,  proof of how great we once were! Your the perfect male. Being your omega was-is the greatest honour any kryptonian could have. And the only way to survive, only Kal's omega would have the last of the cores power used on her to move her off planet. Her saftey was the most important thing" you explained finally petting him see just how incredibly precious he was. His eyes grew wide as he truly began to understand. This wasn't all talk, and you hadn't been joking when you called him the golden son god among men. That's what you all believed. He was worshipped. It was a sobering thought.
Tumblr media
Clark tightened his hold of you hand trembling, palm a little sweaty against your hip. He made to speak but didn't seem to be able to find any words. He couldn't make a sound. It was too surreal for him. Some called him a god here, but he was able to just brush it off, ignore it as an exaggeration. But on krypton? They had meant it. Literally.
"So every girl was raised to... Become Clark's wife? To have children? That's it? No ambitions of your own just... grow up and have babies?" Martha uttered quietly but there was an underlying sadness, she seemed to be offended for you. Which you found peculiar, here the lines of gender were blurred. Krypton raised females to breed, then once they present they were taught other skills to be useful and pay their way.
"Yes. It was... Just how things were, we were taught how to raise children and what to expect with Kal... taught to cook and earthling ways to an extent mainly laws and language but mostly our education was about history and child rearing." You said of handedly trying not to incite anger from the woman. You knew it was hard for her to imagine your homeland. It was harsh and soo different from here. There were regimes like krypton on this planet but they were seen as hostiles and stood against everything this country stood for.
"How did they know? I mean with you? How did they know your were mine"  Clark said quickly managing to intercept what he believed to be a long rant from his mother. She had already made up her mind about krypton, she hadn't said it but she didn't need to her face said it all.
"Your mark apparently we share a mark which is unique to our bond and yours had activated. The council called all the omegas that had presented and searched for your mark. I was the one to have it. I was your mate" you said vaguely to be honest you didn't even understand it properly yet, it was one of the things you were hoping to find out looking through these books.
Tumblr media
"And then after finding it they sent you here?" Clark uttered quietly. He was soo wrapped up in loving you, understanding these instincts and just basking in your presence. That he hadn't really stopped to think about the actual journey, surely it had been your choice? Especially when the cost was soo great. But there was a foreboding in your demeanour it left a heavy cold feeling in his gut.
"Yes. My parents- they had five minuets to say good bye and load me into the ship. The council didn't want to cause a panic and wait, I was wrestled into the ship by my father" you spoke weakly. You hadn't thought much about it, you had nightmares. But that was it, you tried avoiding it, blanking it out... not unlike the adults as you were growing up. In your head there was here and now on earth with your alpha and then before. Before became the codename for life on krypton. Before meant your parents, the rules, pain and fear! Before meant anxiety and death.
And now? Now was the time to let them know. Sure they understood the logistics. You were sent here to your mate. But they didn't know the actual story- the chain of events that lead to your arrival. And for the first time since getting here you needed to get it off your chest. Let it out and be done with this chapter finally let go of the fear and guilt you'd bottled up.
"I was terrified, and I fought but? Not hard enough I couldn't hold on to them either of them! The told me that they loved me and everything would be okay but it wasn't- I was about to kill them... I just" your bottom lip wobbled and your voice came out  strained, you fought to get the next words out. Clark murred and tried to comfort you, feeling the fear and anxiety. The guilt and devastation in your bond was... it sickened him feeling such sorrow. But it did no good, he tugged you up and sat you on his lap curling around you, holding you to his chest desperately wanting to sooth you. Ever ounce of him was trembling the need to cheer you up and tend to you was astounding.
But even through all that need and instinct, he knew he couldn't. You were mourning, not only you parents but your race, way of life, your home, your planet! It would be a heavy blow to anyone least of all his delicate young omega. He didn't speak, he didn't want to interrupt, you needed to get this out. He needed to know what happened so he could help you.
"Then my dad... He was the one to strap me i-in... he was the strongest there... the others couldn't have held me down long enough. The ship closed... locked and that was it I was off to earth." Silence reigned as your new family took in what you'd said. They hadn't realised how you'd come here... Clark thought you came willingly, happily boarded the ship to get here. He hadn't even considered your fear and the weight on your shoulders.
"I felt it. The planet die. All the teachers said that you'd be asleep before it happened but I wasn't. It was the loudest and most frightening thing I'd ever heard. It rocked the ship, then the debris... it was like a monsoon, a deafening rain storm of rocks the earth and foundation of krypton itself." Your took a deep breath leaning against Clark pressing your back into him twisting your head slightly resting on his shoulder trying to tuck your face into his neck. Seeking him as your only comfort. .
Clark was finding it heard to hear. He was ecstatic you were here, he didn't care the cost. Now he felt like a bastard. He couldn't imagine hearing and entire planet die. And entire race. You must have felt so scared and alone. He wasn't sure he could handle that type of trauma. Its one thing to be alone hoping you had a homeland. Knowing for certain? That was another thing entirely. Martha hummed watching as Clark got upset and scooted closer placing her hand on your knee while throwing her arm around Clarks back rubbing slowly.
"I p-panicked and tried to change direction, tried rerouting the ships pre-set destination... But it couldn't find krypton. The planet just? Wasn't there anymore, it was so surreal. Instead it continued on to earth, and the onboard computer said I was too panicked to travel at hyper speed so it put me to sleep... the next thing I remember is waking up here... it felt like minuets but had been six months." You ended. It didn't seem right, such a long historic tale ending with you walking up on an alien planet.
All those failures and mistakes rolling one after the other after the other. All the power hungry fools and scientific breakthroughs for nothing. In the end your race had come full circle. An alpha and his omega. Two intertwined souls. The very last paired kryptonians. It was almost ironic, for all the advances and medical wonders in the end nature triumphed.
"I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry that you had to face that alone... if I'd known I would have come and got you, I would have never let krypton die-" Clark started apologising holding you tighter dipping his head to yours resting his nose on your hair breathing you in swaying you sweetly.
"No. Krypton had to. We couldn't risk another Zod on your new planet. Your abilities in an evil power hungry kryptonian? It would have been chaos. We knew that we had to start fresh but cohabit a planet. Not rule it. That's why we needed kryptonians to be birthed here." You cut him off quickly. He didn't have to feel responsible,  krypton made their bed and they could lie in it. They strayed too far and had failed, destroyed themselves.
"Zod came. He tried to take over but I... I killed him, id found a ship and my father explained a few things to me, told me about my mate that would be sent to me I looked for you in zods men. But he laughed saying id never find you- the final straw that made me kill him was when he laughed saying you were dead." Clark hissed voice becoming dark as he remembered Zod. The cruelty the man had, the utter madness was something that ha7nted him. He feared that was the true nature of kryptonians, that one day he would become another Zod.
"You did the right thing. Zod was corrupt. The codex can sometimes corrupt a child and feed them too much. His loyalty and strength were... maddening. He was meant to be a soldier he wanted to be a dictator, even on krypton. That's what the coup was about. He was trying to overthrow a high ruling government" you said before slowly untangling yourself from your mate. He released you, hands still hovering as you stood and brushed yourself off. You sniffled and wiped your eyes before excusing yourself scaling the small steps of the ship. Clark made to follow you as you disappeared into the ship needing a few moments alone. Martha held him shaking her head understanding you needed a little breathing room.
Tumblr media
You couldn't help it, the feelings came back, the terror and anxiety panic and self loathing. It was nauseating, you'd not really managed to come to terms with the deaths of your family, deaths that you caused. You'd managed to ignore it? Being in a completely new environment you'd almost convinced yourself you were on a trip, a holiday and that your parents were at home safe and sound. It probably wasn't healthy but its what had managed to get you through all this. But saying it outloud? Recounting it had brought everything to life.
You huffed rubbing your eyes as they teared up, seeing all this in here was hitting home. The priceless artefacts and wealth of knowledge surrounding you only solidifying the fact krypton was gone. That it was your duty to keep all this heritage alive. Your job to birth a race and find a way to integrate into this alien world. It was a terrifying prospect, soo much responsibility for a single young female. And you had to bare it alone along side the guilt of being your planets demise.
You quickly wiped at your face sniffling as you felt Clarks approach. Ducking down you looked into the satchel that you recognised as your fathers old pack. You jumped as Clark crouched behind you pressing two heavy hands on your shoulders massaging them before dragging you back to him. You sighed hanging your head as he plastered you to his front,  strong arms slowly winding around your waist.
"Its not your fault, you couldn't have saved them." He said softly pressing a chaste kiss to your neck breathing you in, scenting you. It was something else that was strange at first but Clark had mastered quickly. He noticed that if he gave in to some of these... instincts he could calm you down. Scenting you, coupled with touching you coddling and holding you close seemed to be the most effective way to sooth you when things began to get too much. When you got overwhelmed, but he held back in front of his mother. She was still uneasy about the age difference.
"I could have fought harder-" you whined feeling yourself tremble, the severity of what happened the reality of it crushing you. You began huffing, taking deeper breaths holding them trying to fight the fear and sobs. You couldn't afford this self pity you had a job. A duty to your people and you cant fail! You wont because then it was for nothing-
"Omega." Clarks voice grunted, snapping you out of your thoughts. It was strange, he sounded firm and stern. A real alpha reprimanding, commanding you. You shivered. It was both frightening and sexy. Perfect. You peered back at him, a few tears escaping followed by a single mewl as you tried to stop yourself from crying.
"Nothing you said would have stopped them. Nothing. From everything you've told me, the one thing that stands out is krypton did as it pleased. A tiny thing like you never would have stood a chance" he cooed down at you somehow maintaining his authority but in a gentler way. The light growl almost soothed you, it sounded like his murr but deeper and had more conviction.
"I... I know but it... It wasn't meant to be me. Wasn't meant to happen, they always said it was the end but?" You tried to get out the feelings but for some reason you couldn't put words to them. It came in waves, as ecstatic as you were to be here with your mate, relish in the presence of your incredible alpha. You also wanted your parents, your home and all the things you'd been brought up with. You were selfish, you'd wanted it all.
"No one ever really believes a world can end love" he breathed out slowly. Still pressing close to you sniffing and kissing at you, tucking his hands below your tshirt rubbing the warm palms on your flat tummy making you relax.
Tumblr media
"So what's this then?" Clark said motioning to the satchel you were fiddling with. You cast a glance to him and smiled sadly.
"My dads... they were allowed to pack things before we got tested... just incase and...They didn't have long to gather things- god I hope there's a photo! And my-" you were cut off as he chuckled and moved closer hooking a finger around the opening tugging it lightly.
"Jurashnir stuffie?" He said making you flush and gape. You were surprised he even remembered. But it warmed your heart that he did remember such a small detail, a passing comment really. It showed he really did listen and take in what you said, even if it was silly anxious prattle.
"Yes that" you hummed face glowing in a sweet blush. And began pulling the bag open fully digging you hand inside.
"I hope she packed it too" Clark chuckled holding the bag open wider so you could see more of the things inside. You already recognized some things, your mothers perfume she used on the rarest of occasions. Your fathers military id pin some clothing and jewellery that they treasured the hair ornaments your mother wore on their ceremonial binding. Then there was the all important photo, you closed your eyes glimpsing the image. No, it was too soon for that, you couldn't look at their smiling faces yet, not after killing them.
Then you felt it. Your stuffie the one that had been with you since you were brought home as a new babe. You yanked it out eyes watering as you pulled out the toy. Clark eyed it with a smile, it was like a chinchilla small round and cute, huge eyes and adorable. You held it close overwhelmed by it, which was stupid, it was a bloody toy, but brought so much comfort. You nuzzled it, rubbing the tiny ear between your fingers like you had thousands of times before.
"I- sorry it..." you breathed out quickly pulling the toy to your lap twiddling the fur on it humming. Your cheeks glowed feeling embarrassed from being so childish, getting so caught up in having your treasured toy with you.
"No. Don't apologise" your alpha was quick to argue with a wide grin eyeing the toy himself with a relieved expression.
"I'm glad you have something from home to comfort you" and he did. He wanted to help make you more at home here, and if a little stuffie did that he wont complain. It will have pride of place on the bed both here and when you finally return to Metropolis with him.
You smiled slowly bringing to toy to your chest clutching it close with one hand almost afraid of releasing it now you'd been reunited. You handt realised just how much it meant to you until you face not having him. Your other hand felt around inside the bag and come across a small book. You frowned and pulled it out then flushed seeing what it was. Who had popped that in your bag?! Surely not your parents, there must be a mistake.
You flipped it open and froze seeing your fathers broken English scribbled on the inner cover. A note to Kal.
'This help read. Kal be happy with mate, love her make family' you drew a deep breath and smiled nodding understanding what he meant. Be happy with each other, become a family.
"Ah and Clark... here this is our erm... my dad left this to you mating book... it has everything you need to know about... that" you uttered handing him the book. He froze not expecting to have anything from your parents. He looked over the words and smiled. It was your fathers blessing something he thought he'd go without. Before you could stop him he was flicking through the book scanning the pages and flushing slightly before laughing boisterously drawing his mother into the ship finally giving into her curiosity.
"Well I'll be damned you actually gave me a guide book for sex! Does it have pictures?~" he smirked closing the book and levelling you with a playful stare. You shrunk back squeezing the stuffie in your arms feeling embarrassed pursing  your lips cutely.
"Oh god I don't err? Look just read it okay! Alone!" You growled at him as he still laughed finding it amusing just how flustered you got. He winked at you before quirking a brow at you then peered at the book once more.
"Oh so it does have pictures! Hmm? Must be my lucky day being given free porn"  he exclaimed teasing you happy that you'd seemed to cheer up, even if you were now a little sheepish.
"I-its not porn! Its realistic sex education!" You said flapping at him well aware of the critical look Martha was casting you both.
"Well sweet heart trust me when I say I don't need much tutoring... actually I do... I need lots! But I'm better at practical~ perhaps you could squeeze in a little one on one session?" He purred leaning closer pushing his chest against you humming biting his lip nuzzling you. You shuddered and stuttered tripping over your words. It was at that moment Martha jumped into action.
"OKAY! Right that's enough lessons for one day Casanova, we can leave that conversation there" she huffed standing behind him placing her hands on her hips taking a stern stance.
"What? But ma i was just about-"
"Oh i know very well what you were just about to do son! Behave. And be glad she gave you a raunchy book." The human countered none to impressed with the way Clark seemed to be turning into a cheeky horndog.
"Its just sex education... not raunchy" you muttered quietly hanging your head with a sigh still glowing brightly at the fact everyone seemed to think you'd given him porn.
"I believe you sweety... Come on Clark lets get a move on, we will sort one shelf today then we can relax in the garden" she assured you before ordering Clark nudging him with a foot making him pout.
"But ma?" He whined suddenly transforming from eager alpha to leading child that made you giggle. He really was cute, cuter then you'd thought he'd be.
"No buts. You want to take this stuff to your little club house today don't you?" She snipped prodding him harder with her foot with a smirk.
"Fortress Ma. Its a fortress" Clark huffed rolling his eyes sending you a wink only to yip as Martha toe punched him a little harder in warning.
"Mm hmm call it what you want, when a son builds himself a hidden little mancave and only lets certain friends in, its a clubhouse. No matter how big or high-tech it is" she drolled making you chuckled at the two. It was nice having the motherly woman around even if she was struggling with the new situation you and her son were in.
"Its not a... whatever, come on you lets sort through this shelf first" Clark finally caved and stood helping you up deciding to pick his battles... he had to keep his mother sweet if he was going to convince her that you could move in with him, be it his room here or his appartment in Metropolis.

Could you write Kara's pod crashing on earth but it's found by a gay couple? So now Kara has two dads.
When Kara wakes, she’s not in her pod. For a heartbeat, she lets herself entertain the idea that everything since Krypton’s last nightfall has been a horrible nightmare and she’s back home, but then she realizes she doesn’t recognize the room she’s in, and her next few heartbeats trip over each other in a panic. She tries to scramble out of the bed, but her body feels strange; her limbs are both weak and too strong, like their long disuse has led to them strengthening instead of atrophying. Her legs tremble as she tries to settle them underneath her, but she feels like she could leap into the sky with such force that she’d never have to land.
She stumbles over to the window and pushes aside the curtains, staring out at the landscape on the other side of the pane. There are fields stretching out almost as far as the eye can see, and the edges of a forest creeping in from the horizon.
And, at the end of a dark furrow that almost reaches the house, Kara sees her pod.
Immediately, she turns away from the window and heads for the door. She opens it with such unexpected force that she might loosen the hinges, but that doesn’t matter; she just wants to get to her pod, she wants to find out what’s happening, she wants to understand-
She manages to make her way down the stairs and finds three men sitting at a table together. Two of them are dressed in pants and simple shirts, but one of them is dressed in a skintight suit with a red cape rippling down his back.
And when he turns, that man has the crest of the house of El emblazoned on his chest.
“You’re Kryptonian?” Kara asks, her voice hardly louder than a breath.
The man looks vaguely embarrassed, and also vaguely familiar. “Yes,” he replies. “I am a Kryptonian, such as you. I apologize if my words are difficult to understand. I do not often speak Kryptonian.”
Kara blinks. The man is understandable, but his Kryptonian is awkwardly formal. “What language do you speak?” she asks, trying to slow her words in case he has trouble understanding. “Where am I? Who are you?”
“This is Earth,” the man explains. “Most people in this area speak a language called English. And I am-”
“Kal-El,” Kara whispers, realizing where she’s seen his features. He looks similar to his parents-
Except this can’t be Kal-El, can it? Kal-El is a baby. He should be an infant, unless...
“Are you- Are you Kal-El?”
“I am,” the man agrees. “And you are Kara Zor-El, are you not? My cousin?”
Kara nods, but before she can say anything else, one of the other men says something in a language she doesn’t understand. Kal-El must, though, because he responds in the same language, then turns back to Kara.
“These two men found you when your pod landed in their fields. They said you can stay with them for a time, until I find someplace else for you to live. Do you wish to get to know them? I can translate.” He picks up a small tablet from the table. “I also have a dictionary that has translations between Kryptonian and English. It should help.”
One of the men asks something, and Kal-El hands him the tablet. After a few moments, the man says in painstaking and accented Kryptonian, “We will help you. You can stay. You can live here.” Next to him, the other man smiles encouragingly and nods.
Kara looks at the men, then at Kal-El. She hardly knows these men, and she’ll need time to be sure, but for right now... They seem kind, and she’s starved for kindness. They seem warm, and space was so very cold.
“Can you thank them?” she asks Kal-El. “And tell them... If they will have me, I would like to stay.”

Superman: From Cleveland to Krypton
The Man of Steel's Jewish roots
Coming over from the old country, changing his name like that. Clark Kent, only a Jew would pick a name like that for himself. —The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, by Michael Chabon
Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the two ordinary young men who created an extraordinary hero, lived 12 blocks apart from each other in Cleveland. The pair collaborated on stories for their high school newspaper and shared a passion for science fiction and pulp comics. It was the 1930s, and comic book publishing was in its infancy. Like many young Jews with artistic aspirations, Siegel and Shuster yearned to break into this fledgling industry. Comic book publishers actively hired Jews, who were largely excluded from more “legitimate” illustration work.
The 1930s were also, arguably, the most anti-Semitic period in American history. Nazi sympathizer Fritz Kuhn of the German-American Bund led legions of rabid followers on marches through many cities, including Siegel and Shuster’s hometown. Radio superstar Father Charles E. Coughlin of the pro-fascist Christian Front was one of the nation’s most powerful men. And Ivy League colleges kept the number of Jewish students to a minimum, while country clubs and even entire neighborhoods barred Jews altogether.
So Siegel and Shuster began submitting treatments under the pseudonym Bernard J. Kenton, just to be on the safe side. Throughout the Great Depression, the two boys scraped together every penny they could just to cover postage. Shuster sketched on cheap brown wrapping paper.
From these humble beginnings, Shuster and Siegel carved out a character that embodied their adolescent frustrations, served as a mouthpiece of the oppressed, and became an American icon. Many years later, Jerry Siegel recalled the birth of Superman:
The story would begin with you as a child on far-off planet Krypton. Like the others of that world, you had super-powers. The child’s scientist-father was mocked and denounced by the Science Council. They did not believe his claim that Krypton would soon explode from internal stresses. Convinced that his prediction was valid, the boy’s father had been constructing a model rocket ship. As the planet began to perish, the baby’s parents knew its end was close. There was not space enough for three people in the small model craft. They put the baby into it. The mother chose to remain on the doomed planet with the man she loved, and die with him. Tearfully, hoping that their baby boy would survive, they launched the craft toward the planet Earth. Shortly, Krypton exploded and its millions of inhabitants were destroyed.
The idea of for this new superhero came to them in 1934. It would take another four years before Superman would be transformed from a feverish dream to a full-fledged hero. In 1938, Detective Comics, Inc., was looking for a character to launch its new magazine, Action Comics. They paid young Siegel and Shuster $130 for the first 13 pages of Superman. Action Comics #1 came out in June of that year. The issue sold out, and a star was drawn.
In a brilliant stroke, Shuster and Siegel gave their superhuman hero a secret identity, that of an all-too human reporter, the meekly mannered Clark Kent. Practically speaking, this notion of “double identity” allowed for almost endless storyline twists and thematic depth. On another level, it added considerably to the “mythology” that would eventually accrue around this fictional crime fighter. Clark’s shyness undermines his courtship of his co-worker, the gutsy Lois Lane. Siegel and Shuster later admitted that the shy Clark struggling for a date reflected their own social challenges.
Superman #1 was published in the summer of 1939. Across the Atlantic, in Germany, Adolph Hitler was exploiting his nation’s economic and social ills by scapegoating Jews. Living in a country that had stripped them of their citizenship yet perversely obstructed their exit, German Jews resorted to desperate measures. Just as the baby Superman was sent away from Krypton to avoid the mass destruction of his people, many Jewish children were sent on the Kindertransports to seek safety with families in England.
After the attacks on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, America entered World War II, and so did Superman. In Siegel and Shuster’s comic, Clark Kent tries to enlist in the Armed Forces, but he fails the routine medical examination,. Clark accidentally uses his X-ray vision to read the next room’s eye chart. Distraught, he muses, “I’ve got the most perfect body the world has ever known, and through a sad trick of fate, the army turns me down as hopeless!” This feeling of desperation and despondency was felt across the country. As news of the Nazis’ murderous Holocaust plan emerged, American Jews felt utterly powerless to help their European brethren.
Word of Superman and his ethnic undertones did not escape the enemy’s notice in real life. Josef Goebbels, the Nazi minister of propaganda, denounced Superman as a Jew. In April 1940, Das Schwarze Korps, the weekly newspaper of the Nazi S.S., attacked the comic and its Jewish writers:
Jerry Siegel, an intellectually and physically circumcised chap who has his headquarters in New York. . . The inventive Israelite named this pleasant guy with an overdeveloped body and underdeveloped mind “Superman..
Here were Nazis wringing their hands over a cartoon character cooked up by a couple of boys across the sea. Yet this ideologically driven rant actually touched on something vital–the importance of Shuster and Siegel’s Jewish heritage.
Superman #1 begins with a brief synopsis of the hero’s escape from Krypton, which draws heavily on Jewish sources. Superman’s journey closely reflects the story of Moses. Like the people of Krypton who faced total annihilation, the Israelites of biblical Egypt faced the murder of their male offspring. To ensure her son’s survival, Jochebed places Moses in a reed basket and sets him afloat on the Nile. Her desperate decision is clearly echoed by Superman’s father, Jor-El, who launches the little rocket ship containing his son into outer space.
Moses and Superman are eventually discovered and raised in foreign cultures. Baby Moses is found by Batya, the daughter of Pharaoh, and raised in the royal palace. Superman is found by Jonathan and Martha Kent in a Midwestern cornfield and given the name Clark. From the onset, both Batya and the Kents realize that these foundling boys are extraordinary. Superman leads a double life as the stuttering, spectacle-wearing reporter whose true identity no one suspects. In the same way, for his own safety, Moses kept his Israelite roots hidden for a time.
Superman’s original name on Krypton also reveals biblical underpinnings. Superman is named Kal-El and his father Jor-El. The suffix “El” is one of the ancient names for God, used throughout the Bible. It is also found in the names of great prophets like Samuel and Daniel and angels such as Michael and Gabriel. We may never know whether Siegel and Shuster were aware of these precise Hebrew translations; nevertheless, the name could not be more apt.
While the invincible Superman may have stood the test of time, the lives of his creators were not as triumphant. From the beginning, Siegel and Shuster were so busy they had to hire assistants, but while DC Comics was making millions, Superman’s creators weren’t sharing the wealth. The two men were paid a salary, but their initial payment back in 1938 had included all rights. They had sold their percentage of a goldmine for $130 and were eventually fired from their own creation.
Lawsuits followed. None were successful. Siegel and Shuster tried and failed to create new characters. Their names were familiar only to comic book aficionados. Then, rumors began to circulate in the early 1970s that a big budget Superman movie was in the works. DC Comics received $3 million for the rights to film Superman. Once again, Siegel and Shuster were left out of the equation.
This time, the two men tried a new approach. They bypassed their lawyers and went straight to the media. Newspapers across the world picked up the story of Siegel and Shuster, the poor boys who’d created an American icon, made DC Comics rich — and were now penniless and forgotten. That Shuster was now going blind added to the story’s poignancy.
Legally, DC Comics owed Siegel and Shuster nothing, but bad publicity was costing the company dearly. A financial settlement was reached, and the names “Siegel and Shuster” appeared in Superman comics once more. In 2006, Superman returned to the big screen, and not a moment too soon–in today’s world, we need a hero more than ever.

After the events of Zero Hour Superman has returned to Metropolis. He stops some gang members using Toastmasters from shooting each other and endangering others, before flying off to meet Lois. He tells her how Earth's mightiest heroes stopped a villain from manipulating time and destroying the universe. As a side effect time has unfolded differently, and with the help of all the other heroes, Metropolis has been restored!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the Daily Planet Clark finds a photograph about his childhood from Kenny Braverman. His face is cut out of the photo. As Clark and Lois leave the Daily Planet a piece of brickwork almost crushes them, but Clark is able to move them out of the way in time. Using his telescopic vision he doesn't see anything suspicious. But a masked figure nearby declares that Clark's luck will run out.
Tumblr media
Arriving at their apartment Clark finds another photograph in his mail. This one of the time he was in a school play and got the main role because Kenny took sick. While in the elevator, it begins to collapse, but Clark uses his strength to stop its descent and keep himself and Lois out of danger. Outside, the masked figure is upset that his plans keep failing.
An orphanage in Hob's Bay is torched by an unknown assailant. Superman and Lois arrive on the scene. Superman rescues some children, while Lois interviews some fireman. Ron Troupe arrives, and the masked figure, watching from a nearby rooftop, mistakenly believes he is Clark. He sets off some more explosives blowing up the remains of the orphanage. Superman uses his cape to protect both Lois and Ron from the blast. The masked figure is enraged that Superman has saved Clark again!
The next day at the Daily Planet, the reporters are writing up their stories on the orphanage fire, while Clark finds another photograph. This one of when he was at a scout camp with Kenny Braverman. While Kenny was trying to cook, his frying pan caught fire. Clark had to put out the fire using sand. Kenny's father was angry and blamed the whole incident on Kenny. Lois wonders if these photographs are linked to the numerous attempts on Clark's life.
Conduit sneaks into a closed down auditorium hall and plants a time bomb. A security guard finds him, but Conduit kills him with his electro-tentacles.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Lois is helping Clark move back into his old apartment. She comes upon a box of keepsakes, one of which is a photograph of Clark, Lana, and a boy named Kenny Braverman. Clark tells her that in high school, Clark and Kenny rivaled at just about everything. But while Clark was always good-natured about their competition, Kenny always despised being second best. When it came time for the senior prom, Kenny asked Lana Lang to be his date, but Lana turned him down in the hopes that Clark might ask her instead. This rivalry has fueled a lifelong hatred for Clark Kent in Kenny's mind.
Tumblr media
After unpacking, Clark and Lois attend the Lexcorp Zenith Awards for Journalism banquet. Clark Kent is given the highly coveted "Baldy" award and begins to make a speech onstage.
Just then, Conduit's bomb explodes and the stage erupts with flames. Clark quickly changes to Superman and then struggles to keep people away from the fire. Conduit's mercenaries storm the assembly hall and try to take Superman out. Superman stops them, but before he can interrogate them, Conduit activates a remote signal that causes his men to suffer a neural-meltdown. Superman tries to rush them to the hospital, but he is too late to save them.
Returning to his apartment that evening, Clark finds an old photograph of himself pinned to his front door with a knife sticking out of it.
While Lois Lane & Clark Kent try to enjoy a playful day of painting in their apartment, their conversation turns to the attempts on Clark's life -- and the apparent connection to Ken Braverman. Clark reveals an old romance he had while abroad with Simone D'Neige, and Kenny's jealous reactions to this and all of Clark's success in general.
Tumblr media
Lurking outside their window, Conduit attacks, revealing himself to be Braverman. A shocked Superman is knocked into the water with a powerful Kryptonite beam, and losing consciousness, seemingly doomed to drown.
After his most recent bout with Conduit, Superman returns to Lois' apartment, to make sure she is okay. He then takes off to track down Conduit.
Conduit meanwhile, surveys activity within the Pipeline. He reflects upon the time some years ago when he was an operative for the CIA. Ultimately, he became too much of a loose cannon, and the CIA tried to take him down. Conduit killed his attackers and went rogue, forming his own rival intelligence network – the Pipeline.
Tumblr media
Now he intends to disrupt a public Daily Planet dedication ceremony. Conduit flies in and tries to kill Clark Kent on the street. Clark pretends to fall through the rubble and uses the moment to change into Superman. Conduit uses Kryptonite coated tendrils to keep Superman at bay, but the hero eventually defeats his rival and Conduit is arrested. Conduit now bears a grudge against both Clark Kent and Superman.
Cliffhanger: Construction workers discover Superman’s body still in his coffin!

REVIEW
This was a very respectful revisioning of the origin, proof that “Man of Steel” was really the source of truth for the character (and it was very influential for the “Lois & Clark” TV show). As a result, it isn’t really an origin story (as you may have expected from a “0″ issue). Don’t worry, 1995 comes full of Year One annuals.
In this case, a new character is introduced into Clark Kent’s past, Kenny Braverman (who since then appeared here and there in multiple adaptations, including the Man of Steel movie). Kenny was born the moment Clark arrived on Earth, that proximity to Kryptonite made him sick all his life (and possibly, was the key to make him a super-villain).
Kenny doesn’t know that Clark Kent and Superman are the same, but that kind of myopia is commonplace in Metropolis, as it takes Superman three issues to figure out who is trying to kill him.
This story also introduces Simone D’Neige (who will come back years later), and adds a few new twists here and there, but the main difference is the existence of Kenny Braverman.
Kenny is kind of a replacement for the Silver Age Lex Luthor, something that makes sense considering that Luthor’s story was over at this point (he will come back after making a deal with a demon though). Suffice to say that Conduit didn’t really make it too far as a super-villain. Considering that the Super-Creative-Team planned the entire year in advance, it’s clear that Conduit was never meant to last (just making time for Luthor to return fresh).
When you read the “triangle” era, there are certain things to expect, especially on the four-issue stories (basically a month worth of superman comics), the pacing is very specific, almost formulaic. That sometimes causes our hero to figure out who the killer is a little too late, but it usually leaves enough place for the writers to play around with their supporting characters. This is a trade-off I can make (also, you don’t need to wait six or twelve months to read one story).
The art was very good for the time. DC was already using digital effects, but not on the same level as some of its competitors.
I give this story a score of 8

Elseworld’s Supergirl: First Born, Chapter Two
Chapter Two of Elseworld's Supergirl. We'll see Kara, Kal and the Kents (just realized all the K names here) come into Smallville for adoption papers, and boy are they in for a surprise. Plus an appearance of a very well known character.
See it early on my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=8366308
“What the hell?” Jonathan asked. He, Martha, Kara and Kal were in the old truck. They had come into Smallville proper to figure out how to get adoption papers. The problem they found was the courthouse was a burnt out shell.
The police were stationed around what used to be the courthouse, yellow tape line the property with them. A man with greying brown hair and wearing a blue button up shirt with a black tie was speaking to another man wearing a suit.
“I’m going to have a word with the sheriff,” Jonathan said, getting out of the truck. Kara looked at Kal with concern. Jonathan came up to the two men as they finished talking, “Sheriff, mayor,” Jonathan greeted them.
“Jonathan! Good to see you!” the man in the suit said, “I’d stay and chat, but I have to see how the rest of Smallville faired in that meteor shower,”
“Is that what happened here?” Jonathan asked.
“It looks like,” the man in the blue shirt explained, “It musta hit a gas main or somethin’.”
“So everything’s gone, Parker?” Jonathan asked, glancing back at the truck. “Most likely, why do ya ask?” Parker asked.
Jonathan sighed, “Just before the meteor shower yesterday, Martha and I found this kid in our barn,”
“What was he doing in your barn?”
“She was with her baby cousin. They’re from Markovia. Don’t speak a lick of English,” Jonathan explained, looking toward the truck, the sheriff followed his gaze. He could she Martha in the passenger seat and a blonde teenaged girl in the back. Jonathan leaned close to the sheriff, “They don’t have any kinda papers. We think they came illegally.”
“What are you asking me Jon?” Sheriff Parker asked.
“Martha and I…” Jonathan trailed off, “We’re looking to adopt them,”
“Adopt them?”
“They’ve got no one else Doug, we can’t send them back where they came from,” the farmer explained.
Sheriff Parker sighed, looking at the ground, “A’ight.” he said after a moment, “I’ll see what I can do on making up some adoption papers,”
“Thank you, we owe you,” Jonathan said.
“Don’t thank me yet, I’m going to have to get some information from you two later,” Sheriff Parker explained, “What are their names first of all?”
“Kara and K-…” Jonathan stopped. Kal-El isn’t an English name, let alone an Earth one. He scrambled to think of another name, “Clark. The baby’s name is Clark,” “You paused there,” the sheriff pointed out.
“He has a..interesting name. We’re renaming him,” Jonathan bluffed.
“Uh-huh,”
“I’ll be seeing you, sheriff,” Jonathan said, turning back to walk back toward the truck.
“See ya Jon,”
Jonathan sat back in the driver’s seat of the truck and started it back up, they were turned around and heading back to the farm before anyone said something.
“What did Doug say?” Martha asked.
“He’ll make up some adoption papers. He thinks these two are from Markovia. But…” Jon trailed off.
“But what?” Martha asked.
“I had to rename the baby.”
“You what?”
“Kal-El isn’t a Markovian name!” Jonathan argued.
“How do you know? How would Douglas know?!” Martha argued.
“Tae nan roʃ gem?” Kara asked. The Kents looked at each other.
“This is going to be a long game of charades,” Jonathan mumbled as he drove.
Three Weeks pass…
Kara sat in her room in the Kent House reading the English dictionary. It was the room she woke up in, so it was as good as any to claim. Better than the barn. “Fin...grr?” Kara struggled to read. That didn’t sound right, “Fingar? Finger?” Kara asked herself. This language was difficult to learn, she could hold something of a conversation with Martha and Jonathan at least.
The last few weeks had been difficult since Krypton. Kara and ‘Clark’ had been adopted by the Kents, but it was strange. They had to hide the paper work for some reason? Earth culture was stranger still. They didn’t have one government with different branches like Krypton, they had different ones all around the world. Kara was glad she didn’t have to learn all of them.
Kara heard something. It sounded like rumbling coming outside, she put the book down and looked out the window. She could see a long black vehicle drive onto the Kent Farm. It came to a stop outside the House and a man wearing a suit and hat came out the front of the vehicle. He walked to the back and opened the door and another man stepped out, he also wore a suit, but his red hair was a long mane. Has he been touched by Rao? Kara thought. She watched the red haired man speak look around. She thought she saw him say something before hearing Jonathan.
“Luthor!” he sounded annoyed.
“Mr. Kent!” the red haired man called back. She could see them continue speaking, but could only hear pieces.
“..don’t care...money...can’t…” Jonathan said.
“...understand...research….already bought….” Luthor explained.
It looked like the pair were arguing. Jonathan looked ready to hit Luthor, Kara couldn’t blame him. Something about him felt wrong.
“Well this is a surprise,” a voice behind her said. Kara turned to find a man leaning on her doorframe. He wore a suit like Luthor in the yard, but he was definitely younger than him. He would’ve looked Kara’s age if it wasn’t for his bald head, “I thought the Kents couldn’t have a kid,” he said, then he noticed the crib, “Much less two,”
“Who are..you?” Kara demanded.
“My apologizes, for not introducing myself. My name is Alexander Luthor, but most people just call me Lex,” he said, “Who are you?”
“Kara,”
“And who’s this?” Lex asked, approaching Clark’s crib.
“Don’t touch him,” Kara growled. Lex stepped back, with his hands up.
“You’re clearly adopted,” Lex said, “If the hair wasn’t a dead give away, your accent is. I can’t place it but it’s clearly not the local drawl,”
“I’m from...Markovia,” Kara said like she practiced with the Kents. That was one of the first things they had her learn in their language, besides formal greetings.
“Markovia huh? Interesting,” Lex said. He looked at Kara, his green eyes seemed to be looking for cracks in her lie, “My father has a few contracts with Markovian officials. I don’t think I’ve heard them with an accent like yours,”
Zhaol! Kara swore internally. Martha and Jonathan didn’t tell how what to say if someone actually knew someone from Markovia.
“I’m from...Kuvaium,” Kara said. Thank Rao for no one knowing Kryptonian, especially a kuvaium snake like Lex.
“Kuvaium? Never heard of it,”
“It’s a small..town. You probably can’t find it. Especially since it’s gone,” Kara improvised, anything to get this creep out of the house.
“I may look into it, even if it’s gone,” Lex said, turning to leave, “My apologizes for intruding on you Kara, I have hope I’ll see you again,” Kara glared at him as he disappeared out of sight, she could hear him descend the stairs and leave out the back door. She looked out at Jonathan and Luthor still arguing.
“...sn’t right we can negotiate,” she heard Luthor offer. They were much clearer than before, but they were still muffled.
“My farm isn’t for sale, that’s my price,” Jonthan explained. Unnoticed by Jonathan and Martha, but noticed by Kara, Lex quietly entering the car he and Luthor came in.
“Mr. Kent, we only need your land for a short period of time and I can assure you, I can and will compensate you and your wife for your time,” Luthor said.
“I don’t care, I’m not letting you tear up my farm for some science experiment,” Jonathan stood his ground.
“Alright, have it your way,” Luthor sighed. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a card, “If you change your mind though, here’s my card,” Jonathan took it without breaking his glare at Luthor, who just kept smiling at him, “I’m sure we’ll see each soon Mr. Kent,” Luthor said.
Luthor entered the car and the chauffeur closed the door, Jonathan and Martha watched as the car turned around and made its way off the farm.
“Learn anything, Lex?” Kara could hear Luthor ask. He was even more muffled, and getting quieter as the car drove further away.
“Nothing that would interest you,” Lex said.
Kara covered her ears. They’re driving away, in a vehicle. Why is she hearing them? How can she be hearing them.
“I need to know everything, Lex.” Luthor explained.
“They have two kids, one’s about my age the other is a toddler. Maybe a month old,” Lex explained.
“Can you befriend the older one?”
“Possibly. I didn’t give her a good first impression,”
“You were seen?!” Luthor shouted, but it was no louder than a whisper.
“It doesn’t matter...we…” Lex said. It was hard to hear them now, Kara could only pick out random words, “...eminent domain...Kent…MOOO!” Kara jumped. All she could hear were animal noises. She looked out the window again, towards the barn and fields. She could hear the cows in the barn munching on hay, she could hear the grass move in the breeze outside. This was terrifying. What was happening to her? Was she going crazy?
“...can’t keep Lionel away forever,” Kara heard Martha say. Jonathan and Martha were inside now.
“We’ll think of something,” Jonathan sighed. Kara crept out of her room and made her way downstairs, “We can’t have him poking around and finding about, Kara,” Jonathan said as Kara entered the living room.
“Is everything...good?” Kara asked, still not used to English . “Yeah, we just had to deal with someone...not nice,” Jonathan explained.
“Luthor?” Kara asked.
“Yeah, how do you know that?” Jonathan asked.
“You...talked really loud,” Kara lied. She wasn’t going crazy.
“It’s nothing for you to worry about Kara,” Jonathan assured her.
“O-okay,” Kara said, she turned and started heading back upstairs before stopping, “Did...did Luthor say something about an amnient..domain?”
“Amnient domain? You mean eminent domain?” Jonathan asked. Kara didn’t say anything, “Is everything okay Kara?” he asked.
“Y-yes,” Kara lied before quickly ascending the stairs and going to her room. Everything was not okay.
Kara sat on her bed, pulling her knees up to her face. What was happening? How could she hear things from so far away? She never heard of anyone being able to do this on Krypton, with the exception of Flamebird and Nightwing. But those two were legends! Myths!
“Why did you send me here?” Kara cried to no one in Kryptonian, “What is happening to me?” she cried.

A Luthor and A Super Ch. 7
Ch. 1/Ch. 2/Ch. 3/Ch. 4/Ch. 5/Ch.6
As the New Year rang in for Kara, Lena, and the rest of National City, the unrest at Agent Liberty’s declaration became louder and louder. The outcry for Supergirl to reveal herself to the city was making it impossible for Kara to do her duty, as well as being thrown out of scenes by Colonel Haley was making things more difficult, as was Alex telling her to stay out of things. Kara decided it was best if Supergirl disappeared, and she folded the suit and stuffed it in a box on the floor of the closet before walking out and turning on the news to the same reports for the last weeks.
“If you know who I am, why shouldn’t Supergirl tell us who she is?! It’s only fair! Force the leech tell us her name! Who are you, Supergirl!? You’ll have to answer soon, you know!” The camera cut to Supergirl, hovering over the prison and looking upset and worried all at once before she turned and flew off, Lockwood’s laughter lingering on the air.
“We’re two months since Professor Lockwood was arrested and booked into the men’s prison. Crime in the city has spiked since Supergirl has not shown up to several gunfights, fires, or crises that could have used her help, leaving many to wonder if she ever cared about National City or was just in it for the fame and glory. Was Agent Liberty right? Should Supergirl reveal herself to the world? We’re going to be exploring that topic tonight at 10,” the news reporter said before it cut to a commercial.
Kara sighed, drawing her knees up and shutting off the television. She buried her face in her arms, shaking a bit as tears fell down her cheeks. “What do I do…?” she muttered.
The door to the apartment shut, and Lena sighed as she set her bag on the counter. “Kara?”
Kara looked over and smiled a little, even though it didn’t reach her eyes. “Hi, Lee,” she whispered, getting up and wiping her eyes softly.
“Sweetie, what’s wrong?” Lena asked, putting her hands against Kara’s cheeks. “Why are you crying?”
Kara sighed softly, looking down. “News again,” she said. “They’re saying that Supergirl was only in the hero job for the fame and glory and that’s not true. I did it because I loved it. But after all of this mess with Lockwood, I don’t even like looking at that suit anymore. It makes me feel wrong when I put it on. Everyone hounding me for who I am, why I do what I do…I can’t take it.”
Lena nodded, wrapping her arms around Kara. “It’s ok, baby,” she said. “If you need to take a break, then take one. Nobody’s going to fault you for that. It’s just burnout. You’ve been doing Supergirl nonstop for almost four years, and It’s not your fault that you’re tired of it. Lockwood’s just a stain on the carpet anymore, so we don’t have to worry about him.”
Kara nodded, burying her face against Lena’s neck. “Maybe I should just go public,” she said.
“No! I will not let you do that,” Lena said. “If there is one thing I will not let you do, even though you are a grown ass adult, is give up your identity. If the entire world knew, Alex would be in danger, your mom would be in danger. It’s too big of a risk.”
“But not being Supergirl is a bigger risk, Lena!” Kara said, pulling away and running her hands in her hair softly. “Not going out there and stopping gunfights and fires and boat accidents and whatever else happens in this city is a bigger risk. I’m letting people die because I’m scared! I’m a horrible person because I’m letting this happen.”
“No, you’re not,” Lena said, biting her lip softly. “Kara, you are the most selfless person I have ever known. You’re just in a slump.”
Kara started to say something, but her phone rang. “Alex?” she asked as she picked it up. She answered it and put it on speaker “Alex, what’s wrong?”
“Turn on the news. Right now.”
Lena ran over and turned the television on, seeing a breaking news report on the screen.
“We interrupt Press Your Luck for a special news report. James Olsen, former CEO of CatCo has just come forward with the identity of Supergirl. The man known as Guardian has recently been seen working with the Children of Liberty, and he says he knows Supergirl’s identity and can put that to rest with photographic evidence to back it up. We’re going live to our reporter on the street at the waterfront with Mr. Olsen right now. Katrina?”
“Thanks, Caity,” Katrina said, turning to James. “Mr. Olsen, you say you have proof of Supergirl’s identity and can back it up?” “Yes, Katrina,” James said. “I worked with Supergirl for three and a half years at CatCo. Supergirl’s real name is Kara Danvers, reporter for CatCo Worldwide Media.” He turned his tablet and showed the pictures side-by-side, tapping them and overlaying the pictures where Kara and Supergirl overlapped with nothing out of place but her glasses. “She pretends to be human, but she’s just like Superman, complete with the paper-thin disguise.”
 “Kara Danvers? She always seemed—”
“Innocent and klutzy? Yeah, that’s the disguise. Glasses and a ponytail aren’t really a disguise and anyone that thinks otherwise is only fooling themselves,” James said.
Kara narrowed her eyes, heat vision blasting the television.
 “Kara!” Lena yelled, jumping backward.
“Lena? Are you alright?” Alex asked.
“Fine,” Lena said. “She’s just, uh…blown up the television with her heat vision.”
“That slimy son of a bitch!” Kara snapped, setting her phone down so she didn’t break it. “I trusted him! I told him everything and I trusted him! And he does this?! He better be glad Clark’s off world right now. James, you bastard!”
“Kara, sweetie, calm down,” Lena said, putting her hand on Kara’s arm. “Kara, please. Just breathe and listen to me. We can do damage control. We can fix this.”
“No, we can’t!” Kara yelled, slamming her hand in the wall and breaking the bricks. “We can’t fix this, Lena! That two-faced son of a bitch just ruined everything!” She collapsed onto the ground, wrapping her arms around herself as she started crying, drawing her knees up and burying her face in her hands.
“Alex, I’ll call you back,” Lena said, hanging up Kara’s phone and walking over to her. She sat beside her girlfriend, wrapping her arm around her tightly. “What did you tell me once? This is just a setback. You’re going to get up after having a good cry and a teeny pity party, and you’re going to come back stronger then you were when you got brought down. You are my hero, Kara Danvers, and a stuck up, selfish, self-righteous prick is going to take that away from you.” She kissed Kara’s head, rubbing her arm softly. “Dry off those tears, sweetie. We’ll set up a conference and we can smooth this over.”
“If I don’t go to prison,” Kara whispered. “For lying, cheating the government, obstruction, whatever else Haley wants to throw at me…”
For the next week, Kara refused to leave the apartment except for work, even though she’d get questions and things thrown at her by the anti-alien civilians, just brushing it all off and not letting it show that it affected her. She’d spent two hours on the phone with Cat Grant on the seventh day after James told the world, the conversation she was oddly grateful for.
“Listen to me, Kara. You lied to protect your family, and I can respect that. Even though you know I had my suspicions for a long time, especially since you’d go to “lunch” and come back and smell like smoke or your hair would be wet, or you’d be in a different cardigan and a skirt instead of those tackily awful pantsuits you’d wear. I cannot say I’m surprised in Mr. Olsen, but considering this wasn’t his story to tell, I hope you give this bastard hell,” she’d said.
“Ms. Grant, you know I won’t do that. I don’t hurt people with my powers. Not intentionally. James…he’s just a gnat I don’t want to spend any more time on. Lena, thank Rao, hasn’t fired me from CatCo, but I haven’t been given any good stories. I’ve been running sports and fashion with Nia mostly. Someone else covers the Supergirl stuff, considering it’d be a conflict of interest if I did it. Self-promotion is what Snapper called it. After he called me every trashy name in the world. Lena, bless her, tried to put him in his place, but he still does it. I just don’t listen…I can’t stand it,” Kara said, sniffling softly and wiping her eyes.
Cat sighed. “Maybe I should come and set Mr. Carr straight,” she said. “Or unstick his head from his ass.” She was silent for a minute, getting up and pacing her office in DC. “Can’t you get another job somewhere? Less public? What qualifications do you have?”
Kara thought. “Well...I was in the Science Guild on Krypton. I was training to be a scientist like my father. It’s how we were able to stop Reign. I used what I remembered as a girl to work with Lena. Maybe I can work for LCorp’s science department. Put my big brain to use.”
“Well, there you go! You have a plan. Now you just have to execute the plan,” Cat said. “I’m going to be in National City tomorrow. We’ll talk more then, Kara. Alright?”
Kara, for the first time in a week, actually smiled. “Alright. How about I meet you at the airport?”
“I think I’d like that,” Cat said. “I’ll see you soon, dear.”
 “Ok. And Ms. Grant?”
“Yes, Keira?” Cat asked, hearing Kara laugh at the mispronunciation of her name that used to annoy her so much.
“Thank you,” Kara said. “For…everything. The job at CatCo, believing in me, not being angry I lied to you.”
Cat smiled, putting her hand over her heart. “You’re welcome, sweetheart. Now. Hang up the phone and I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Kara said, hanging up and sighing.
On the eighth day since being outed, Kara stood in front of CatCo with Lena and Cat behind her, a press conference set up at her request. She bit her lip softly, watching the flashing cameras. She felt Lena’s hand on her back, turning and looking at her girlfriend who nodded. Kara nodded, stepping forward and standing at the podium.
“Thank you all for coming today,” she said. She took a deep breath and sighed, looking at the crowd. “The reports from James Olsen, however much I wish they weren’t, are true. My name is Kara Danvers, but my real name is Kara Zor-El. I’m from the planet Krypton. I was sent to Earth as a child to watch over my cousin Kal-El, Superman, and help him learn about Krypton. My pod, however, was knocked off course by Krypton’s destruction. I spent over twenty years in a space called the Phantom Zone where time does not flow. When I landed on Earth, my cousin was grown up and saving the world already, and I was still thirteen.”
“Why hide who you were?” a reporter asked.
Kara sighed. “I hid because if I didn’t, the people I loved would have been in danger. It’s why the people I consider friends who also do the hero thing wear masks. My mask…just happened to be a scrunchie and glasses, letting me use my normal look as Supergirl.” She wrapped her arms around herself softly, looking down. “I know I lied to everyone for so long. My family knew, my girlfriend knew, and my closest friends knew, but…I couldn’t let anyone in because I didn’t want people getting hurt because of me.”
“And that’s why you’re going to be arrested for treason,” Colonel Haley said, walking up. “Stay where you are, Ms. Danvers. If you try and run or fly away, I’ve got snipers set with Kryptonite rounds to subdue you.” She walked forward and took out a pair of handcuffs. “Turn around.”
“No,” Kara said. “You can’t arrest me for protecting a secret to keep my family safe. This is wrong.”
“And so is lying to the government,” Haley said.
“Oh, like the fact that the DEO is not public record, yet has a fully staffed army that’s been deployed in the city numerous times?” Lena asked. “Yeah, figure that out. She worked for an organization that isn’t even on the government record, and you’re going to arrest her? That’s bullshit and you know it.”
“Stay out of this, Luthor,” Haley threatened. “Or you’re going away alongside her for aiding and abetting. Don’t push your luck with me, rich girl.”
Lena narrowed her eyes. “Don’t try me, bitch. You’re fucking with the wrong women.”
“Besides, Colonel, I can call President Baker, and have you removed,” Cat said with a step forward, narrowing her eyes and looking at the other woman.
“Actually, Secretary Grant, you can’t,” Haley said. “Since this order came directly from the President.”
Kara sighed, looking at Lena and Cat. “It’s fine,” she said, shaking her head softly. “It’s alright, Lena, Cat. I’ll…I’ll go.” She turned and grabbed Lena, kissing her softly and closing her eyes. “I’ll be home soon. I promise. I’ve got a friend that can help me.”
Lena nodded softly, wrapping her arms around Kara’s neck and kissing her back, whimpering softly. “I love you,” she whispered. “Come back to me, Kara. You have to come back to me.”
“I will, baby,” Kara whispered, resting her forehead against Lena’s. She walked over and hugged Cat, sighing softly. “Thank you for trying to help, Ms. Grant.”
Cat shook her head. “You don’t thank me, Kara. Not after all you’ve done for me and this city.”
Kara walked over and held her hands out for Haley, the Colonel slapping the cuffs on. Kara just stood blank faced, the slam not even hurting her wrists. “You can tell your snipers to stand down. Since I’m going peacefully, you can’t shoot me. Plus, and this is the most important part, Colonel, I’m not even using my powers, so you have no reason to have armed men on the rooftops,” she said, cocking an eyebrow.
“All teams, stand down,” Haley said. She grabbed Kara’s arm and led her away, slamming the door of an SUV after shoving Kara in and getting in the drivers’ side. “All units, report back to the DEO.”
Ten minutes later, Kara was being thrown into a cell, the cell being flooded with red sun energy to take her powers away, leaving her weak as she sank onto the bed. She drew her knees up, shaking as she looked down.
Alex walked out of the conference room, heading into the main ops and seeing Haley looking smug. “What in the hell did you do?” she asked, her eyes livid. “Why is she in a cell? Snipes with Kryptonite rounds?! Are you out of your goddamn mind!?”
“Watch your tone, Director Danvers. Or your sister is going to be the least of your worries,” Haley said. “You’re lucky I don’t throw you into that cell with her for lying and falsifying information to government agencies. She came quietly, my use of force was unneeded.”
Alex rolled her eyes, her hands shaking as she turned away, looking at the monitors. She smirked as she turned up the volume on the main television.
“National City continues to get interesting. With last weeks reveal of Supergirl’s real identity, it’s been revealed by LCorp and CatCo WorldWide CEO Lena Luthor that there is a sanctioned and secret government operation in the city called the DEO. Our reporters captured everything this afternoon at Ms. Danvers press conference outside of CatCo,” the reporter said.
As the footage played, including Kara’s goodbye to Lena and arrest, it cut to the streets in a live feed, showing people protesting Kara’s arrest and ordering her release.
“It seems National City citizens are eager to see Supergirl fly once again. That shot’s coming from downtown National City near the Mayor’s office, protesters coming from all corners of the city. We’re going to keep coverage on this as it happens.”
Alex smirked. “Looks like you’re fucked, Haley,” she said. “And not in a fun way. You’re going to get on the horn, get the President to let my sister out of that cell, and you will leave my organization, or I will find a way to get you fired or relocated to the Arctic digging for Santa’s Workshop. Understand me?”
“You have no authority, Director Danvers,” Haley growled. “Not over me, considering I’m directly under the president.”
“Yeah, you’re got his dick so far down your throat you’re hanging off his balls when he stands up,” Alex growled, getting in Haley’s face. “You’re in my organization, so do what I’m telling you. Now.”
“Go to hell,” Haley spat, turning and storming out.
 “You first, bitch.”

In what ways was new 52 better than rebirth?
New 52 Justice League stories were actually good and the team dynamics fresh and DC had a chance to build a modern take but they blew it. Have people actually read the crap that is Justice League Rebirth? Not even the most biased older reader can tell me Rebirth Justice League adventures or dynamics were good. Most of it was boring and built around a very forced and emotionally disconnected team. Origins, Throne of Atlantis, Trinity War, Amazo war, etc etc all were better stories.
It was nice to see a Superman and Batman with a more balanced friendship in the new 52. Batman is always depicted as a little disdainful of Superman preflashpoint. In the new 52 these two were like brothers and Batman never got a chance to walk all over Superman as he usually does. Go back and read the new 52. Compare it to other eras and media with BMSM. New 52 Superman had something most other Supermen lacked and its called a spine. He was also socially conscious. He never was about his comfort. Never put his love interests before the world nor sat on his butt to play house. He had a modern sensibility even while being idealistic. He was a little rough around the edges because he had a journey. He had no parents to run to and pet him. His upbringing helped mold who he was but his heritage was vital too and enhanced who he was.
He viewed his biological parents and Krypton with reverence. The Els in the new 52 were more interesting. Lara was not just relegated to some woman sobbing over a baby she’s sending away where all the glory goes to Jor-El. New 52 Lara is Jor-El’s equal. She is a badass warrior. Jor-el is a genius scientist and we learned about them and Krypton to learn to care for the world as much as the Kents and Kansas. New 52 Lana was awesome as was Steel. Contrary to what some Lois fans claim, Lois did have page time in the new 52. Compare Lois’ page time to preflashpoint early Superman adventures and you’ll barely see her around. Even when he married her, she had a specific function like Rebirth. And that is just to be there as the trophy wife. It amuses me that some people claim Lois married to Superman is better Lois stories. It in fact is so far from the truth hence the reason why the Lois fans still bitch all through Rebirth. There is not one definitive Lois story around in all her years married to Superman. In the new 52 she actually did some stuff without being there to serve as a love interest.
Jimmy was tons of fun and felt modern too. Cat also was not just relegated as a man eater. She was more layered and her and Clark’s attempt to modernize the journalistic aspect to Superman was a good idea. The idea Clark Kent keeps writing on himself, or still disappearing from his job to be Superman or giving Lois scoops etc in other verses shows how obsolete that part of Superman’s myth is and makes a mockery of journalism. But DC keeps going back to this and frankly it is not interesting nor does it represent truth or justice. All DC had to do was continue building new Superman’s world to flesh out all the other dynamics we know and try to fold him into the 21st century.
I know some fans struggled with the darker amazons in new 52 Wonder Woman. I can understand not liking them made into trading babies etc for weapons but trying to make an isolated homogeneous society a utopia is a fallacy. The idea the Amazons are just all sweet lotus eaters just does not interest me. I’d have preferred a balance. Living in a gilded cage doesn’t make you better than others. Especially if you doing it by excluding half of humanity. Just like any society the Amazons should have positive and negative attributes and like all societies need to grow and evolve. George Perez’s Amazons were more balanced than Rucka’s saccharin, vanilla Rebirth take. People give Azzarello a hard time but go back to Marston. His Amazons were not nice to men. Azzarello’s prob were closer to his. An ideal take for me would take Perex and Azzarello and fine tune them, while keeping some of either. New 52 Hippolyta to me is a bad ass who ought to have been given more exploration and Amazons like Dessa or Aleka are as interesting as Phillipus and Artemis . It’s just a matter of what the writer wants to say. But DC decide to once again throw everything out with Rebirth Diana. Going so far as putting her in a god damn asylum and saying she was deluded for 10 f**king years!
Zeus being Diana’s father did not bother me because it adds a whole new dimension you do not get with clay baby. I enjoyed clay baby under Perez but I enjoy demi goddess too.  Her God family was one of the best takes on the Gods. All very creative. I miss them actually and find it a shame DC allows these versions to die and I find Rucka’s Rebirth take of Gods as “patrons” of Disney animals snooze worthy. New 52 Diana herself was compassionate, independent, fierce, wise, very powerful and enjoyed life. She wasn’t nerfed like she is being nerfed in Rebirth. Wonder Woman in Rebirth is usually whiny, confused, lost with as much charm as a stick in the mud. She has 3 people in her cast. An Etta Candy who I have no interest in. Give me Hessia any day. A whitebread Steve Trevor who is there to teach her about romance, though she slept with many sisters on her island and Conan. An a brother (no one asked for) who happens to be more powerful than she is. I saw a Diana taking on Darkseid, shoulder to shoulder with her male counterparts in New 52, and very capable. In Rebirth bullets are constantly taking her down Or other characters just punching her out.
Steve Trevor actually was better in new 52. He was out of Diana’s shadow and actually he not in hers. He served a purpose. For 30 + years Diana did not need Steve. The idea Rebirth tell us she needs him to be a complete character rings false. Their romance is forced in a couple of panels with the “easy” bs but we are told to accept it. Just like the crap by Jurgens that Superman was merged.
New 52 was a journey and building towards something. It was an unfolding verse. There was set up, there were stakes, and DC could have had payoff. They opted not to. Just messed up the entire verse and the momentum.. Rebirth is the equivalent of DC just plunking a status quo on a platter and readers are told to accept it.
Batman was DC’s top seller in the new 52 and he didn’t rely on wedding dresses to get a headline. While the Batcat wedding is a new dimension to the mythos, fact is Batman is character than sells no matter what. If Batcat broke up in ten years, Batman will still sell. Because his character drives his mythos, not his uniform, not who he bangs…HIM.
The new 52 kinda afforded this opportunity with the reboot. They could build and be free creatively. Rebirth imo writes you up against a wall. I believe other properties had interesting and fresh stories as well during the new 52 eg Aquaman, GL, Swamp Thing , Omega Men, Grayson, etc We lost good team books like new 52 Batman/Superman and Superman/Wonder Woman for that debacle called Rebirth Trinity. Rebirth Trinity’s crashing sales is a good metaphor for Rebirth. DC gave readers a book that features the three biggest heroes and you’d think it should be a best seller right? Rebirth Trinity sales in March 2018 issue #20 is down to 22,690 K. That is atrocious.
Just like everything else the Rebirth Trinity’s dynamics are very superficial and built on something that lacks true connectivity and emotion. DC thinks because it gives you a panel or two of characters saying 1+1= 2 then so it should be. They don’t seem to think it important to build something over a period of time to EARN it. It seems it’s their modus opernadi even in their cinematic verse too.And we all know how Marvel are kicking DC’s ass in the cinematic universe because they have what DC don’t and does what DC often will not, ie patience and take risks.
So in a nutshell. New 52 was show. Rebirth is tell. For me the Rebirth strategy, barring books like Batman or events books, that does not bode well for lasting or memorable stories. DC prob hope that with every retcon or renumbering people might forget that their foundation is crap and people will just buy into the hype. But that can only last for so long. New number ones and tons of variant covers to send up orders will only make them look good for a month until the next gimmick. Remember how they were preening in the early months of Rebirth because of double shipping and returnability? Those things just inflate numbers. They are not a sign that DC is growing its readership or a character is successful. Half of those books that seemed to do well in early Rebirth are at cancellation levels now.
People don’t have to take my word for it. Just go to any site that has sales data and compare. New 52 never had returnability or double shipping either. So people who try to hate on the new 52 , they do it a huge disservice, because it did the comic industry a huge favor while it was in a creative slump. Rebirth as far as I am aware has not saved anything.

I'll always come back to you (Part 1)
I’ll post part two and three as soon as possible. It took me time to post this because of my internet that went and came back all the time, I almost gave up. But here it isOk, first I want to say that this was … HARD! I didn’t know how I was going to play the reader in Themyscira to grow up with Diana (there in the 1900s) and at the same time make a connection between the reader and Kara/Clark. That was a mess, I had to do some research to try and find a stable timeline. lol Unfortunately, I will have to split this into three parts, possibly. I hope you don’t mind. :)
ANON:  Can you do a Wonder Woman x reader where the reader is kryptonian but land on themyscira and is raise and trained on themyscira.Diana and reader like each other but reader is sent away when she was a teen because shes not Amazon only for Diana to find her later in mans-world being a hero for justice league (doesn’t realize it’s you at first) develops a crush, finally realize it’s you and still loves you. You can also add that your related to Clark or Kara up to you. Set after justice league
Tumblr media
You were only seven when you were sent to the land by your parents.
At the time you didn’t understand the reason, had just picked up parts of conversations where your mother said that Krypton was dying
Your pod landed in one of the most unlikely places to fall:
Themyscira
Hyppolita welcomed you along with the other Amazons
Among so many women on the island, there were now two children. You and Diana
Because they are the only children on the island, you have grown very close
Diana became your best friend and confidant.
Just like you hers
Antiope trained them together behind the backs of Hyppolita
Until hyppolita discover and finally give way to the training of Amazons
Unfortunately, your training can not be completed.
As the years passed, as more sunlight bathed you, you grew stronger
You had extraordinary strength, speed above normal
Fuck, you flew!
Hyppolita thought you were becoming a good that they could not stop.
She was forced to send you away to the world of men when you turned 17
Diana was devastated and broken. She tried everything, but unfortunately there was nothing she could do against her mother’s orders.
You came to the world of men in 1910 and it was all very different from Krypton and certainly very different from Themyscira.
You’ve managed to do well for the next four years
Unfortunately, you were on your own in an unknown world and your powers were discovered and you were caught by the Germans in the same year that the First World War broke out.
Despite your imprisonment, no weapon or cell could stop you and you managed to escape. Unfortunately, you ended up hit by a hunt and fell into the seas of Antarctica.
You’ve been frozen for 99 years, before Superman finds you.
Long story short, Krypton really is gone and you were, strangely, Kal-el’s aunt and Kara Zor-El.
You were the younger sister of Zor-El and Jor-El. Your brothers were just teenagers when you were sent in the pod, so you could not know about your nephews.
To which, apparently, they were older than you now.
Kara welcomed you and explained how things in the world worked. She, along with Kal-El (when she could) trained and helped you with your powers.
You discovered that Kal was sent ashore as a baby and that’s why he had no memories of Krypton. Kara was sent at the age of 13 and you understood and shared her pain. Memories of a now dead planet and a family too.
“Wait. You mean you’re older than him, too?”
“Technically, yes. I was trapped in the ghost zone for 34 years. I should have 47 now”
You were glad you were not the only one then.
“So I guess this is just one thing among our family, right?”
Fortunately, Kara always shared good memories about your siblings.
And you could always share stories about Themyscira when the subject of your current dead planet became too heavy.
Your best stories were the ones you shared with Diana.
Kara seemed fascinated by the island
“An island of Amazon warriors? Don’t play with me! How was it there? Who trained you? Why did they send you away?”
Kara always filled you with questions and you would smile and try to answer them all.
The following years followed without much intercurrence or agitation. (Which was great, you’ve had too much in your little life)
You helped both your ‘nephews’ (it was strange to think of them like that) with evil villains and aliens around the world.
Until everything collapses again.
Kal-El was dead, so they resurrected him, so there was the Steppe Wolf and a guy with a bat costume was joining a team.
And so you joined the Justice League …
And so you reunited with Diana …
Tumblr media
Ok, that was part 1. As you can see, I had to freeze the reader for almost 100 years. I thought about how she would become a superhero too, with the crest of El’s house, and wanted something different from the Superman and Supergil suits, so I remembered the wonderful drawings of @plastic-pipes and I chose this one.
I’ll post part two and three as soon as possible. It took me time to post this because of my internet that went and came back all the time, I almost gave up. But here it is

This planet would never be her home. No matter what Kal-El had tried to tell her when she first landed, she would never feel safe here. She would never be happy here. Didn’t he understand? Didn’t he realize that she had lost her entire world? Even Kal-El--he was not Kal-El. He was Clark Kent. He was just as bad as any of the Humans on this pitiful, polluted, primitive planet.
English had been a struggle to learn, her mind, though far more advanced than that of any Human, refused to grasp even the basics for weeks. It was difficult to work her tongue around and it didn’t help that she didn’t really want to learn this rough, guttural language in the first place. But Kal-El--Clark--had been frustratingly patient with her and it only made it worse.
And then he had tried to give her away.
He wanted her to have a normal life, he said. He wanted her to have a real family again. He wanted her to spend time with Humans so that she could adapt and live her life here. She would be happy here, he claimed. Happy and loved and safe. Part of a family. She could go to school and learn about this planet.
But that wouldn’t be with him. That would be with the Danvers. Humans. Humans who already had a daughter who clearly resented Kara from the get go. Why would she ever want to leave her only family, her only reminder of home (no matter how pitiful he might be, no matter that he was barely the baby that she had loved and promised to keep safe from harm)? Why would he try to do this to her? Did he simply not want to deal with her anymore? Did he hate dealing with a teenager who had watched her entire planet burn?
No matter his reasoning, he was pushing her away. He didn’t want her. It hadn’t been an offer--it had been a statement. She would live with the Danvers. She would go to school. She would be normal.
So she had run instead. It was easier this way. She might not know this planet but she was more than capable of taking care of herself especially beneath the Earth’s yellow sun (that was still the part that made her heart ache the most--the yellow sun with the blue skies that turned red at sunset, casting the perfect, red glow across the Earth for a few fleeting moments, almost as if she could pretend that she was back on Krypton as the sky was bathed in orange and pink and red, far from the never ending blue of this planet’s sky). Her English was passable now and she knew that Kal-El wouldn’t bother looking for her. Why would he? He had made it clear that he didn’t want her.
Kara had taken all of Clark’s cash when she had run, getting as far away from him as she could as she flew through the night. The only problem was that she didn’t know what to do or where to go anymore. Where would she stay? Surely the currency that she carried in her pocket would run out shortly. Would she be able to get a job? Or would she have to resort to theft?
She landed during the predawn light, standing in a field among plants taller than her. She didn’t recognize them but it was quiet here. Nice. And so she walked, weaving through thick stalks that bore strange pods, hanging heavily from the plant. Were they food, she wondered, or some sort of fuel? Or perhaps they were wild plants. She reached for one and found the leaves sharp though they failed to penetrate her skin. It was an odd sensation knowing that it hurt and yet... it also didn’t.
That was when she heard the voice, sharp, angry, and male. He was yelling at her and she couldn’t understand the words that fell from his lips. Was he speaking English? The words felt familiar but the way it was said was too different for her to understand. He was holding a metal pipe and he was raising it threateningly at her. What was he doing? What did he want?
And then there was a deafening bang and she covered her ears, the sharp, too loud bang making her overly sensitive ears throb in agony. She shut her eyes and didn’t move, her palms pressed tightly against her ears to stop the ringing.
Another bang, muffled this time. And then pain, sharp and sudden in her shoulder. The weapon didn’t leave a mark but it hurt nonetheless. There was more shouting--why was he so loud? She could hear something click, and then another bang, another pain, in her leg this time. Kara’s ears were ringing and everything was overwhelming and she could hear him yelling at her and--
She couldn’t take it anymore. She rocketed into the sky, her flight slow and uncoordinated, her ears still making it impossible to focus. Too much. Too loud. And there was another bang. Another. Another. She flew high in the sky, trying to get as far as she could. She needed to leave this planet. It was barbaric and filthy and the air was poisoned. There was nothing left for her here since Kal-El had decided that he was Clark Kent instead of the man he could have been. The man he should be.
The rush of wind in her ears did nothing to help her keep a level head and she knew that she had to land soon. She had to get out of here. She had to find somewhere safe and lay low and then... then she would find somewhere else.
Her ears hurt so much that she didn’t even know where she was anymore. Her vision was going strange again (she should have taken those glasses Kal-El had given her because this was awful) and there were walls that were not walls and people who were--bones, nothing but bones, and buildings that were both there and not there and Kara’s senses were overloaded and flying was so hard and--
Her shoulder clipped a building. There was that pain-not-pain again, the sound of brick crumbling, the disorientation and the sound of voices, too loud, too many, too much. She was falling. She had to go up.
She wasn’t sure how she managed it but there she found solid ground beneath her feet. A rooftop. A tall building. It was quieter up here but she still felt nauseous and she fell to her knees and tried to breathe. In. Out. In. Out.
The ringing was quieter now. She didn’t feel the pain in her shoulder from the wall anymore. She could see now without feeling as if she were seeing too much. Just the cement beneath her. That hideous blue sky.
But there were feet and those were heavy boots and and a door slamming open and--Kara looked up, panic welling up in her chest. The people had more of those metal tubes, the one that had hurt even though the metal hadn’t managed to pierce her skin. She was on her feet quickly and she wasn’t sure if she should just fly as high as she could or if she should fight them but the choice was made for her just as she tried to stand.
There was a green light, glowing in the hands of one of the Humans. A rock? But Kara could feel the strength draining from her bones, the glow hurting her eyes and suddenly everything felt muffled as she stopped hearing ten heartbeats and the flapping of the flock of birds above her no longer reached her ears.
It was disorienting enough that she fell right back onto her knees, this time the impact hurting. There were men behind her now, their hands roughly pulling at her wrists and there was cold metal clicking against her wrists and, Rao, it hurt as it bit into her suddenly tender skin. “Let me go!” Kara screamed, unsure what language she had let fall from her lips. It had been weeks since she’d been allowed to speak Kryptonese with Clark and English, though vile, was starting to feel more natural on her tongue.
She tried to yank her arms away but all she could feel was a strong resistance from the metal. The rock was closer to her now, the man standing in her personal space and she felt sicker with each passing moment, her legs eventually giving out beneath her and only the grip one of the men had on her shoulder kept her from falling on her face.
She was being carried. There were heavy boots on stairs. Hushed voices that sounded a little afraid. There was a vehicle, a seat, that rock still next to her, its eerie glow making it hard to focus on anything. Where was she? Who were these people? Could Kal-El save her from them? What had they done to her--how could she ever feel like this?
The trip was a blur and she didn’t even realize that the vehicle had come to a stop until she was pulled upright roughly. She managed three steps before she lost her balance, someone’s grip on the metal on her wrists the only thing keeping her standing. Someone lifted her with ease and Kara tried to focus on something--anything. But her brain was too foggy to process anything beyond simply breathing through this.
Time meant nothing as she was carried through darkened corridors. Sometimes sounds reached Kara’s ears, sharp metal on metal, hushed voices, doors shutting, but nothing registered as familiar or alarming. It was just... information.
But then the metal on her wrists released and Kara was given a moment to move before something else--softer, this time--pinned her wrists down to something cold and metal. Her eyes opened enough to register that there was someone in a white coat and a mask, that there was the smell of antiseptic in the air, before there was a sharp prick of a--something in her arm. It felt like an invasion and she screamed and thrashed against the bonds, kicking out at whoever was at her feet. She felt her heel connect with something hard but there was only a soft grunt of pain and then there was a heavy weight on her legs, an arm thrown across her shins, rendering her completely helpless.
The thing in her arm pulled free and there was pressure against the wound, something wrapping her elbow tightly. What were they doing? She needed to know. She had to open her eyes.
Three men swam into focus, one wearing a mask and a white coat, the other two dressed in all black. And there was that rock again, sitting on a small table next to her head. The men pulled her upright and her head lolled forward weakly, resting on someone’s shoulder. She was so tired--she just wanted this to be over. A hand slid around to turn her head slightly before fingers twisted in her hair and pressed her into his shoulder to the point of pain.
But that pain was soon forgotten as something cut into the skin between her shoulder blades and she could feel fabric being torn away, pushed down her back, making room for whatever sadistic thing they were doing to her.
She thrashed again but, between the hold on her head and the way that the restraints were already pulled tightly, she couldn’t move. The blade dragged across her skin and she was screaming through her tears in a mixture of terror and pain. What were they doing? Were they torturing her? Would they kill her? Had Clark been right about laying low?
And--oh Rao--they were pushing something inside her, shoving it deep beneath her skin. It was a violation and she was struggling harder now, hard enough that an arm wrapped wrapped around her waist to keep her still. She suddenly realized that the man had turned her away from his neck before holding her still, moving her teeth far from his fragile, Human neck. She would kill them all. She would level this place as soon as she could. They would all pay.
The pushing stopped and there was a moment of peace, a brief respite that let her breathe. But they weren’t done--something small and sharp bit into her damaged skin, pulling it back together in a way that hurt more than the initial cut.
By the time it was done, Kara was limp in the man’s arms, her body so overloaded that she was numb. The restraints loosened. Someone lifted her off the table. There were voices, speaking English, and Kara understood the words but couldn’t for the life of her string them together to make sense of what they were saying.
She opened her eyes and found herself on the ground. When had that happened? She tried to sit up but there was a sharp pain in her shoulder and there were more metal restraints on her wrists, this time in front of her. Looser this time. She tugged and it burned. There was a soft green glow emanating from them and she closed her eyes again, willing herself not to cry. She just wanted to go home. Back to Krypton, back to her family, back to her cousin as he was supposed to be.
A few stray tears escaped and she reached up to wipe them away, trying her best to ignore the burning of the metal on her skin. She struggled to be upright, crying out in pain as the movement pulled at the damaged skin on her back. What had they done to her?
She looked down and realized that she wasn’t wearing her clothes anymore. Whatever they had dressed her in was rough and unpleasant, far from the smooth fabrics of Krypton. Who had changed her, she wondered. What had happened between the pain of the knife and now? What else didn’t she remember?
The area around her was glass, the floor bare of any ornamentation. The only thing she could see were green lights, emitting that same, terrible glow. It was too dark to see past them so she gave up trying, only moving so that she could rest against the wall. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep, hoping that Kal-El would come for her. But... would he be rendered just as weak as she was? What was this? How had it affected her so much so quickly?
Her head swam too much to sleep and she tried to ignore the pain, forcing herself to relax the tension in her shoulders so that it would pull less at the injury.
They would all pay for this. Every single one of them.

alex has always been the one person to ground kara. she has given up so much of herself for kara - a childhood, an adulthood, parents, and even now, alex would sacrifice herself for her little sister.
she was always the one who would go through hell to save kara - the only one who could save kara.
so it would only be appropriate that when kara finally lost it - when a combination of some synthetic kryptonite mixed with too many emotions to hold in her arms caused kara to just break - alex would be the one there.
it was months after the daximite invasion. the world was still only slightly turned upside down and things were getting back to normal. but the more kara had to put on a smile and push through her emotions, the more she struggled to hold onto all the weight on her shoulder.
with james and mon-el and saving the world, she felt that she could forget about everything. forget about home, krypton. forget about all the things she refuses to talk about. forget about the weight that has always been on her shoulders.
being super girl, kara could just forget.
and she kind of forgot about diana.
well, never. she could never forget about her but she thought she could settle and not be plagued by thoughts of her.
except, she couldn’t forget anything anymore. she flew around helping to rebuild and went to work but she also stayed home, refused victory nights, and even refused alex. there were barely any sister’s nights after the invasion.
and people didn’t notice, really.
they would blame it on mon-el having to leave.
or the fact that kara had to make the decision to kill so many people.
or that kara was just exhausted.
but no one saw it, figured it out.
kara just couldn’t carry anything anymore. it all weighed on her. it was so heavy that sometimes - while flying - kara would fall out of the sky for milliseconds before gaining her energy back.
everything was just gone and kara felt it. she felt the loss of her home. she felt the loss of her culture. she felt the loss of her aunt and of some man who she really didn’t like but was just so similar to those men of her planet that she needed to attached to him. she felt a loss of so much.
and one day she wasn’t paying enough attention. one day kara was fighting a rogue bad guy in the middle of the desert before she felt it, the sharp sting in her back, and she was out.
fast asleep was how alex and her team found her.
her sister on the ground and the bad guy gone and some kind of radiating thorn in kara’s back.
they think it was a “lex product” - some kind of chemically made kryptonite that did something but what had happened was kara just lost it. she couldn’t control herself. she couldn’t control her powers. and when alex - god, alex was so scared - woke her up, kara shot in the sky ready to destroy the world.
it was first just some rocks in the desert.
and then some old deo buildings.
but then she got closer to the city and the deo had to evacuate the downtown area and superman had to come but kara was so much more stronger than him.
but it was enough to get her to stop laser visioning every. single. thing.
and it was enough for alex to talk to her.
or attempt to talk to her.
“you’re my sister, kara,” alex screamed at her. “i will never leave you.”
but this wasn’t something that alex could talk kara out.
she
just
didn’t
understand.
it was night, alex was crying and kara was growling and superman was gritting his teeth because he was going to lose hold over kara, and they had to subdue her with kryptonite handcuffs and it pained alex to see her sister like this.
it pained her to put her in a room with small ounces of kryptonite in the floor to subdue her.
alex talked and talked and talked and screamed and even went to the hologram of kara’s mother but even she couldn’t help and alex felt so hopeless.
the deo didn’t really know what type of kryptonite kara had been exposed to and the bad guy (whom they finally caught didn’t know) and lex wasn’t speaking and finally, after three tiring days of kara screaming and thrashing her body against the walls of the prison and alex crying did something happen.
clark, dressed as superman, came into the deo.
diana prince, dressed as wonder woman, came in after him.
alex noticed the concern on her face. it was similar to the concern, all that time ago when the justice league came out and helped and, at one point, kara got hurt and wonder woman was right there helping her up and alex watched as wonder woman put her hand on kara’s jaw and met her eyes and nodded as if to ask, “are you sure you’re okay?” and kara, nodding, and both women turned to face the big bad.
that concern - that deep worry was written across her eyebrows as they furrowed.
alex still didn’t notice the identities of most of the justice league - only clark and bruce wayne - but she could recognize a type of worry on wonder woman’s face that wasn’t something she expected.
“this is alex,” clark said to diana as they stopped in front of alex and j’onn. “ she is kara’s big sister. if you guys remember, this is wonder woman. i think that she can help kara.”
diana nodded her head, “hello.”
diana wasn’t really the one to follow orders - alex found her a tiny bit odd at the way that she moved past the group and searched for kara. it was like there was a pull, an invisible sting, that lead diana towards kara.
alex was perplexed and jealous and who the hell did clark think he was to bring this stranger here when alex couldn’t even reach kara?!
surely, if alex couldn’t reach kara, then no one could. right?!
diana was fast - not as fast as kara or clarke - but faster than alex and the other deo team. by the time they arrived to the room holding kara, diana was there with her forehead pressed against the glass with kara staring at her and biting her lip to keep it from quivering.
“kara,” diana whispered. “kara, kara, kara.”
her voice was soothing - like a lullaby and all alex could do was watch.
“you never came back,” kara accused the older woman as her arms uncrossed and came to her side, hands a fist. “its so much, its too much. its so loud - all of it - too loud in my head. i need it out.”
diana nodded her head, putting her hand to the glass. “i know, i know. you can, you don’t have to hold it inside anymore. just let it out.”
kara super speed to the glass and banged her fists against it and scream, “i can’t. i can’t. no one gets it, its too much.”
“kara danvers,” diana hissed, grabbing supergirl’s attention. alex will have to make sure that some people in this room sign a nda before they leave but really, she can’t take her eyes away. “i get it, i know. youre sad and you’re upset but you’re not alone in this.”
diana turned back to alex, eyes meeting hers as she demanded, “let me inside with her.”
alex wanted to say no to this woman. she wanted to say that only she should go inside. that kara is her sister. but instead she nods to a tech once diana is close to the chamber door and its so quick - the tech opening the door, diana rushing in and pushing kara back and it just happens so quick.
alex isn’t sure what diana says to kara that makes her pound her fists against the W on wonder woman’s chest or what she says to cause kara to scream or what she does that causes kara to drop to her knees and just sobs.
but alex does notice words like “home” and “you” forming on their lips and how diana pulls kara into her lap and how she combs back her tangled hair and how kara, finally, lets it all go.
alex never knew that kara held all of this. she never knew that kara’s load was this heavy. she always believed that she would be able to talk kara down - to be kara’s protector.
she believed that she would be the one to always ground kara.
but wonder woman, this person she barely knew and her sister obviously knew, knew, knew - was the one to calm her baby sister. she was gentle and fierce and understanding and loving.
did kara see this? know this?
did either know this? the love?
she signed, wiping away her own tears. it was hours before kara was completely calm - the kryptonite that had acted as some kind of trigger seemed to be out of her system with some soothing cuddles from wonder woman.
kara fell asleep against wonder woman, who picked her up, and alex decided when wonder woman asked if there was a safe place kara could rest - that she wanted to get to know this woman.
