i like how dean represents rory’s humble small town stars hollow world and logan represents rory’s wealthy ivy league world and rory being torn between these two worlds is basically the theme of the show, so you’d think that the narrative would be very dean vs logan. yet both of them are intimidated not by each other but by this little guy who comes out of nowhere during both relationships, displays an undeniable connection with rory and dips. i love it.
#gilmore girls#i agree with most of this#but lorelai doesn't dislike jess because can take rory away#she dislikes jess because his self distructive tendencies are all traits she hated in christopher#and. she actively tries to like jess and mend her relationship with him on multiple occasions#and he's basically just a douchebag to her in return#she dislikes jess because she he won't let her see the good he can be for rory or even just show rory#if rory isn't around jess is lying to luke or destorying the town or failing high school#living down to every single expectation he sets for himself in everyone else's view#and lorelai understandably doesn't want him dragging rory down with him
