The amount of eye trauma in this game. I can barely put in a contact without wincing irl.
Choosing to play as a paladin was... both a good and a bad choice. It's great to have a bit of extra healing and to be able to carry all that loot with my super strong arms, but the majority of the team keeps booing me and my moral compass. The worst part is that I've won over everyone to fair or better, except Astarion... who I am determined to romance. Strong "I can fix him" vibes there.
Absolute worst scene so far was my own damn fault. I made a Stellar Decision and got my right eye poked out by Volo because I just wanted to know what would happen, even though I didn't really think it would solve The Situation. I could barely watch. My paladin already had heterochromia so it doesn't matter that the replacement eye doesn't match the remaining one. It's just slightly less blue than the original one and now I can see invisible creatures. I'm not even mad, just experiencing a lot of sympathy pain.
I refrained from letting the hag try poking about in my eye though. Mainly cause I can't imagine a paladin trusting a hag.
That being said, I've just gotten into the githyanki temple and I've spotted invisible cats. If I don't get to adopt at least one I'm leaving a negative review. ...even though I think I spotted my beloved Viconia and got way too excited way too late last evening

Again I know it's supposed to be a haha reference to the turns into a bear when he's too aroused thing, but in again refusing to brush just over the surface of this character: "I must be careful or I'll lose run of myself again. An Archdruid should show *some* restraint." comes across to me as more melancholy than perhaps intended when a. You take it into consideration that several lines imply that Halsin has issues with self control and self servitude, and presenting an "acceptable" version of himself as an outwards facing authority figure, to the point where he brushes over his own feelings, or pushes things that he wants down in the effort to reflect better what others want from him.
And b. Remember that Halsin was essentially just an apprentice when he was forcibly situationally promoted to Archdruid - he wasn't taught *how* to be an Archdruid or trained for it, or mentored; he was thrust into it because they didn't have any other choice. But they needed someone, so he stepped up. Halsin has spent the last century studying and learning things on the fly or through trial and error, and in a position of leadership like that, he is aware that every failure to uphold that mask *counts* and others *are* very much affected. How many times has he muttered that same mantra? Or heard it thrown around? An Archdruid not having control over their own magic is a big deal. Even when he is no longer Archdruid, he still grumbles it to himself. He's been at it over a century and he *still* doesn't feel like he's gotten it right. Even when he is in a place of progression, of trying to gain hold of himself again, those wisps of failure and self doubt still creep into everything. And that's sad to me.

Some more of that Chai joins Vandelay for half a day AU. Or just a picture of a kinda OOC Kale chilling if you wanna gloss over those comics. I'm still not sure if the colours are too garish or not.
These were mostly done with the premise of treating Kale's office like the hideout. I also really like how mundane, or familiar, the interactions between Chai and Kale can be in the game so I wanted to draw some stuff exploring more like that. But also, there's the ulterior motive of shipping so I included an out of context scene because I can't bother drawing the rest of it (though it seems like a huge jump in their relationship as a result. I think they're so big headed that they get stuck in a feedback loop of stroking the other's ego if an excuse comes up to do so)

just finished This is How You Lose the Time War, and in my grand tradition of proclaiming: “X is GOOD, actually…” heres some things I absolutely loved:
1) it’s not purple prose. oh my gosh if I can pick one thing that critiques fundamentally do not understand, it’s that this is NOT purple prose. it’s sharp, pungent even, rich in word choice, but it is not verbose. it’s surprisingly concise for the sheer amount of detail they manage to get into every short sentence.
and I fucking love it. despite its novella length, every chapter had me wanting to put it down briefly just to savor.
2) the details of what a Time War would look like!! how immediately they plunge you into a recently fought battlefield, watching before your eyes as the bodies decay into bones and the mud and dirt sprout vines and weeds to cover the swords and shields rusting and buried into the ground. VIVID.
3) as characters, red and blue may be relying heavily on archetype, but I still loved reds overeagerness shining through the page, and blues slow laughter at that. I love how blue learned to be quick and almost instinctual on trust and gut instincts, and red learned to plot and tread carefully. I love that the climax only works if they learn from each other.
anyways, YES, it’s good, YES, you should read it!

I've been reading the Percy Jackson books for the first time over the past two weeks! Just finished "The Battle of the Labyrinth" last night (which btw is my favorite of the series so far!!)
I have now gained a new obsession but it might not be what you think
#like i swear to god i did not expect to be absolutely enthralled by the protagonist's mom kahskahfjkaja#she's just so fascinating to me#she's so kind and smart and she has given EVERYTHING for her son okay#like her staying married to an abuser for years to protect him omg she deserves the world#like when Poseidon called her a queen in the first book he was 100% right alright she is a queen#the woman murdered her abuser with a monster's head LIKE THAT'S SO AWESOME#also i cannot explain how obsessed i am with her relationship with Poseidon okay#like. do i want her to still have feelings for him? yes. do i need poseidon to pine and long for her from the distance?? ABSOLUTELY YES.#like realistically it's more likely that be does not but I need it okay#like at first i wanted them to be reunited because you know. of course i did.#but i am perfectly content with her finding love and happiness with a mortal man and Poseidon pining for her from the distance#like listen. this woman is amazing and she deserves to have an immortal all powerful god unable to get over her alright SHE DESERVES IT#but the way he just showed up at Percy's birthday party and called her as beautiful as ever????? omg???
