Ha, hah! Thor: Love and Thunder plunges 80% at the box office. GOOD.
I know I’m a spiteful bitch, but fuck them. Taika Waititi may be an “irreverent, amusing little scamp” but he’s also a fucking asshole who tormented Tom all through shooting Ragnarok. And Chris Hemsworth was no better: he did nothing to stop the harassment and might have joined in. Regardless, it destroyed Tom’s friendship with Chris. (There’s an especially unpleasant scene in the Ragnarok outtakes where that dipshit Taika puts on Loki’s helmet and dances around Tom sing-songing “You’re replaced as Loooki, you’re replaced!” Tom turns his head away the entire time with a grim expression. And that’s a ‘hilarious’ outtake? Fuck off.) Waititi and Hemsworth were relentlessly and gleefully spiteful in their comments about “Loki is dead, why would we want him?” during promotion for this shitheap. (Although I am deeply satisfied that it appears nearly every journalist asked them about Loki. HAHAHAHAHAHA!) This is the third worst second week box office drop in Marvel history.
The Forbes reporter says this: “Thor 4 could be Taika Waititi’s Batman & Robin, in terms of “saving” the franchise with a lighter, more comic entry, only to go way too far even with general moviegoers with the follow-up.” Remember the terrible Batman and Robin? It tanked the Batman franchise for ten years before they rebooted it, only to flop again with Ben Affleck.
Sure, I’m mean-spirited and vengeful, but I can’t stand to see these fuckfaces succeed after they treated Tom so badly. They were responsible (partially, TayTay was the other half) of Tom’s abrupt retreat from film and TV for years, and his general standoffishness now with his fanbase.
Suck it Thor 4! SUCK! IT!

Iron man (3), captain America (3), Thor (4) , the Avengers (4), ant-man(3), gotg(3), doctor strange (2), spiderman (3). 25 films
1 black widow, 1 captain Marvel, 2 black panther, 1 shang chi, 1 eternals .
Heroes who come from straight white male experiences get 25 different opportunities and shades and nuances to explore, connect and celebrate. Yay.
All the rest COMBINED got 6. :(
Maybe the solution to fandom exhaustion is to breathe freshness into mcu by mining from stories and experiences that have not been seen before?
I know that would mean some extra emotional leg work by groups who might not have experience approaching stories that don't have direct parallel to their lived experiences - but it's not that bizarre ask either. And the benefits can be mcu can, experiment and try out directions that atleast would be new !
And I know I made a point with demographics but we should try to understand where creative is coming from that evaluate if it is delivered on a familiar model. I like that eternals and the marvels DON'T have a typical showdown to resolve the obstacle. For example. If the fans step out of their comfort zones a bit, and it will feel uncomfortable, there are people long awaiting in those zones who would appreciate the company!
Marvel is as dead as you want it to be. Box office is as dead as you make it to be.
I for one, would like the money and hence scale MCU project can manifest and expand our idea of heroism. Atleast unless we see what does that look like for a queer person or a black woman or disabled person. What does heroism look like without military ethos. How about those whose look at world and heroics through their neurospicy experiences.
God i hope we ask for this. I rather have mcu evolve than die just when it is getting into true phase 2.

Top 10 movies I love that everyone tells me I should hate
I know we're all entitled to our own opinions. But it doesn't feel like that these days, especially on this hell site and social media in general. The loud majority of critics and fandoms seem entitled to dictate what movies and shows are good or bad. They spend endless posts on telling us exactly why these movies are either the greatest thing in the world or the worst. And God help you if you disagree, because that just proves you aren't a true fan.
Does any of this sound familiar to you? It should. Especially after the the new Avatar The Last Airbender series...
To give you a clear idea of what I mean, here are 10 movies I like that have gotten (unfairly or not) trashed:
1. Every Ghostbusters movie since the original: Seriously. Fine, nothing is as good as the original, but Ghostbusters II wasn't that bad a sequel and the latest sequels are fun, even if they coast on nostalgia. And don't even get me started on what you monsters put everyone that dared to like the 2016 movie through...
2. Star Wars: The Last Jedi: This movie was great, it's the Star Wars fandom that is the worst.
3. The Marvels: One of the best MCU movies in a long time. Cute and charming and with a strong female cast...and you guys let it bomb at the box office for reasons I'm too tired to even talk about. Enjoy getting crappy Captain Carter getting the lion's share of female MCU roles while more deserving heroines like Carol, Monica, and Kamala get sidelined, you jerks!
4. Red Notice: Fine, it was a dumb action movie. But it was MY kind of dumb action movie that I'd happily watch again. And I still want that sequel!
5. Thor: Love and Thunder: I get that people don't like the flanderized Thor, and even I'll admit that there were parts that could've been better. Yet contrary to popular opinion, this was far from the worst MCU movie we've had. A movie can be fun and flawed.
6. Thor: The Dark World: For all the complaining about goofy Thor, you don't seem to like the gritty, serious Thor movies either.
7. The live action Beauty and the Beast: It doesn't matter if the live-action Disney are good or bad. Liking both the originals and remakes doesn't make you any less of a fan!
8. The live-action Aladdin: Ditto.
9. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: I realize this stance might be hypocritical, since I don't want to dictate what movies should/shouldn't like, but come on, it was WAY better than Crystal Skull!
10. Damsel: The reviews for this movie weren't great, and I don't care. I don't make high standards for Netflix movies. A fun feminist fractured fairy is always welcome for me.

‘Thunderbolts’, ‘Blade’, ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’, ‘Secret Wars’ Among Disney Release Date Changes Due To WGA Strike
It feels like Covid all over again, but it’s not. Disney has just made a slew of release-date changes, many due to the impact of the WGA strike and screenplays not being ready and productions paused.
We already know that Thunderbolts and Blade are waiting the strike out before rolling cameras. Scripts aren’t fully ready in regards to the new Avengers movies. Avengers: Kang Dynasty goes from May 2, 2025, to May 1, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is also pushed another year from May 1, 2026, to May 7, 2027.
We told you that 2023 largely was safe in regards to staying intact (knock on wood), but the ramifications of the writers strike and productions paused will be felt throughout 2024 and beyond. Commence the great release-date shuffle by the motion picture studios.
Also the other delay here with the MCU titles is that Disney wants to make sure they’re better — better than what they’ve been doing from script stage to VFX in the wake of fan pans and lower post-pandemic box office results for such films as Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love & Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
First major change is that the untitled Deadpool movie will fire off next summer, May 3, while Captain America: Brave New World, gets pushed to July 26, 2024. Thunderbolts stays in 2024, moving off July 26 to December 20. Deadpool 3, in a vote of confidence moves up from Nov. 8, 2024.
Blade goes from September 6, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025 — that Valentine’s Day/near Presidents Day frame which has been a sweet spot for MCU.
Fantastic Four shifts deeper into 2025, from February 14 to May 2.
Avatar 3 officially is delayed a year from December 20, 2024, to December 19, 2025. Which thus pushes other sequels from James Cameron as Avatar 4 shifts from December 18, 2026, to December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 goes from December 22, 2028, to December 19, 2031. While these scripts already are locked, the shift of movies due to the WGA strike is pushing the Avatar sequels around. Producer Jon Landau said the following today about the moves:
The Star Wars movies, which still are being baked, are getting kicked down the road like cans: One of them goes from December 19, 2025, to May 22, 2026. A another untitled one gets added on December 18, 2026.
The new live-action Moana movie with Dwayne Johnson has staked out the summer date of June 27, 2025, about a week earlier from its previous July 2 date.
The new Alien movie, which is shooting overseas, takes the Disney RSVP date of August 16, 2024.
