#school rumble#i could write an essay on it#actually i have#one of the most powerful stories ever written gah it drives me crazy that it comes in such a strange package#the story so powerful the animation team rejected the manga's bs to give the characters the finale they deserved#even though they were forced to retcon it in the final 2 episodes to push for another season#literally they just end the story on episode 19 and hard pivot to movie parody skits/vacation specials for the rest of the episodes#it's magical#until the episode 25 does the ''ohhh nooo they forgot the whole thing and put us right back where we started uh oh whoops''#''awww looks like we're gonna have to have another season''#literally#anyway if i ever start feeling emotions im probably going to start school rumble posting and never stop#schoolrum's so stupid you can only appreciate it emotionally#it's not like nichijou where theres still all this artistry and richness you can still engage with if youre cut off heartwise#i didnt even have emotions when i first watched it but it was still powerful enough to make a visceral impact#but at this point im just too far gone i need a bit of heartspace before i can have any chance of actually registering any of it again#<- finally caved and posted a schoolrum rant after like 5 and a half years on here#its the kind of series that lurks forgotten for years at a time#until one day it jumps out and grabs you and refuses to let go until you rewatch it again#best dub in history btw you didnt know english localization and voice acting could be this good#knocks the original japanese out of the park and truly ties everything together#nichijou japanese and school rumble english are the two best animation dubs of all time

STUDY IN LOKI ROMANCE
Part 2: Breaking Brad
Since we're only a few days away from the last episode, I decided to COUNT DOWN everything we´ve got so far ( that can be interpreted very easily as romantic ) and discuss what the actual fuck is going on with second season. Because even though I shipped lokius practically from S1E2, I absolutely did NOT expect this kind of development. (Not that I´m complaining)
Warning: This is gonna be LONG post, lots of screenshots, lots of SPOILERS, lot of "oh-my-god-they-so-cute" language, and little bit of meta.
I originally thought that this post would be everything at once, but since I have just too many screenshots this time around, I´ll have to split it. so every post will be one episode. Color coding means:
IIIIIIIIII = anything, that coud potentialy be just acting choice.
IIIIIIIIII = everything else (tzn.: whatever was written, and/or carefully prepared by filmmakers. )
side note: I already wrote, about how amazing it is, that Mobius is unable to fight but fights anyway and how beautifuly, and ridiculously brave he is HERE. But this is about Loki/Mobius interactions, so I´ll try my best not to talk about THAT. (Even when I´m really happy, that s2 continues with this formula and Mobius is still his completely defenseless while aggressively brave self. I love him, btw.)

btw, I know, that some people think, this scene doesn´t make sense, because Loki didn´t "lost it" during avengers, but was controlled by mind stone, etc.... well I think that it actually doesn´t matter.
Guess what else doesn´t make sense? For example the fact, that they already talked about Loki fighting Avengers ( during their first meeting.) Loki is aware, that Mobius saw New York invasion at least twice now, and he´s telling him anyway.
I would say, that point here is Loki trying to lift Mobius´s spirit, entertain him, make him smile.
Why else woud he start his monolog by "remember, when...?"
And I think, that this is huge, actually: Loki, using his bad memory, defeat, his humulianting experience to make Mobius feel better.
So not only, that we see, he no longer care about being rurel but we see him making lightly fun of it FOR MOBIUS´S SAKE!
He has different priorities now... our immortal god is a grown man now... it´s just so fucking beautiful... 🥺
Also Mobius saying to Loki: "come on, you´re the God of Mischief" Like it´s a best thing in the world, and Loki gives him THIS LOOK! (I mean that head tilt would be considered "acting" category, but I´m already making concessions by including all these things under one number :D

They both such a drama queens!
And they works so well together!
like... seriously, Brad didn´t see this coming, AT ALL! xD

Station 19 6x15
What in the fanfiction just happened? Like damn, I was so not ready for that. Do you think I could focus on anything besides Maya and Carina?
We finally got a shower scene and Danielle and Stefania really made the best out of it. A couple of things gagged me during this.
1. When Carina took off her pants, and she didn't have underwear? She went on a date without panties? She is a menace.
2. The way Maya put Carina's hair to the side. That kiss was hot. I don't like when they put their hand on each other faces. But I'm not complaining.
3. THAT KISS. Danielle really said let me upgrade that dearborn kiss to the wife version. It was too short, but no cuts, hair, aid cars, or walls. So no complaining.
4. Carina pinning Maya against the wall
4. The Neck kiss. Stefania knew we needed a scene like she had with Arizona on Greys and decided to deliver a better, sexier, and hotter version. I know Maya went to heaven and came back.
5. Three things are hot in this scene: 1. Carina's smile when Maya was going down. 2. Maya keeping eye contact 3. Both of those things.
But this is my favorite shot. All that was fun but the intensity in this The way they are were looking at each other. Damn!
Now the scene after that was so needed. I can't believe they gave us an actual conversation about it. Carina expressed her fears, and Maya listened and apologized.
And this shot. Paris, you are a genius.
Why did they put Carina in a towel tho? So she had something to do while saying all that? She could have said those lines pacing around the room. Because it was so silly the way she was putting her clothes, like she and Maya weren't devouring each other a couple minutes ago.
Other things about the episode:
Maya giggling when she realized what Carina meant by "hot shower" she is such a loser.
Everybody looked so pretty. Maya was glowing, and I didn't know if it was because in the first part of the season, she looked rough or what. But then Andy and Vic looked so pretty, but they are pretty, so.
Then Jack was looking pretty, too (That hasn't happened since season 3 for me). Even Sullivan was looking pretty (I do think Boris is handsome). I think this is a very hot cast, and the makeup department got a raise.
What was that scene with Theo and Alexa? To let us know he is stinky? We Know.
Jaina and Barrett were amazing in this episode. This cast is so talented. I hope they get better writing next season.
Zavier came through with the writing.
I love the slow burn and the pain, but I'm gonna need Carina to put her ring back. It's not funny anymore
Danielle is directing the next episode so I don't expect to have a lot of Maya scenes, but I can't wait to see what's next for them.
People complaining about the shower scene being edited that way, with a guy dying, but I get their vision. It's the parallels of someone dying in a fire and a new life being created in a shower, by Maya getting Carina pregnant.
I'm not complaining but if we could have gotten scenes like this and kisses like that. Why they were always interrupted, and their kisses were so safe.
This is the first time I get excited about Carina wanting a baby. When she was talking about her own practice.
I'm going to stay here until the next episode, btw.

So recently, I've been getting back into the TMNT fandom, specifically Rotmnt, because Cassapocalyptic has invaded my brain and will not let me go for the foreseeable future
ANYWAY
I've been reading a lot of comics and I've seen a theme where Leo is a medic and I just want to know where that came from????
For context, I haven't finished season 2 because I can't pay for it, and all the sites that I usually watch it on either have really glitchy audio or have just taken it off. (and only specifically season 2, which pisses me off, but anyway-) I just want to know where it comes from,,,,
side note, I will always see Cassapocalyptic as Canon. Yes, I know it's not, but in my mind, it is, and nothing can change it also

translation: the strange kingdom
you grew up in a small village, in a kingdom ruled by an evil queen who's time will soon end which was being celebrated by your peers. but, little did they know, another kingdom has arrived not to celebrate along with you all, and instead end the innocent lives of the people who live in this kingdom. the large, thick concrete walls that circled the kingdom crashed to the floor and fires were spreading everywhere. nobody else had escaped in time, you think. for days, you ran and ran and ran. far away from the kingdom that you thought was safe forever. 'what was i thinking? there's no forever, just like what my mom said.' you say to yourself as you crash to your knees, tired and barely having enough energy to run anymore. your eyesight was getting blurry the more you ran, and you brushed it off like it was nothing.
you finally found the energy to run again after resting. your stomach was grumbling and you were in pain; nobody else survived except you and you were just running away from all of it. just as you were about to stand up, you fall to the ground losing your consciousness.
and before you knew it, a kind-hearted prince approaches your figure and yells something out loud to the people near him that you just couldn't find the energy to pay attention to. 'fate' you thought before completely closing your eyes and fading into the dark abyss.
when you woke up the next day, you were in some sort of bed. you gathered everything inside of you to stand up and walk— which, you couldn't quite do because of your exhausted legs and the wounds on them. the same prince from yesterday approached you worryingly and places you back on the bed, “what happened? are you okay?” he utters in such a panicked yet loving voice. you shook your head no in response.
“another kingdom.. attacked ours.” you add to your nod, looking away with a frown.
and from then on, you and the prince had become great friends; you now lived in the so called ‘isanghan wang-gug’ or in english, ‘the strange kingdom’

mkay so my anxiety has been fucking with me today so as a distraction i have decided to annoy someone so uhm i'll attack your inbox.so uh i watched a season and a bit of doctor who so you will now receive a beautiful summary.
1.there is a guy called the doctor. why? who knows but he has a very nice smile.
2.he can feel the earth moving beneath his feet or something. i relate. very dizzying.
3.he has a human companion. she is called rose.
4.my homophobic mother maybe thinks i'm gay for her. i am not but i was very tempted to tell her that even if i did have a crush on her it would not be gay because i'm non-binary and uh i don't have crushes because i'm aro but uhm the walls of this closet are thick.
5.in the first episode they watch the earth go BOOM and there is a lady who is like uh a sheet of skin or something.
6. also btw rose has a boyfriend who i can't remember if i like or dislike.
7.they uh do shit. don't remember what.
8.there's uhm some aliens who are big and green and kill people and wear their skin or something.
9.in one episode, the skin-wearing alien turns into an egg?
10.uh and then he david tennants himself and is sad that he isn't ginger.
11. there are evil people dressed up as father christmases.
12.something about controlling blood idk i kept getting distracted by david tennant. he gives me lots of gender envy.
13.david is sleeping and gold shit is coming out of his mouth.
14.uhm he is now awake and they are in a hospital with weird cat nun doctor people

I have a question for you what do you think of the quote unquote age gap between Bloom and Valtor?
I had to do alot of research to understand Bloom age when I started to like this ship better than Mr cheater. So here's a brief information dump:
Bloom is 16 in the first episode and its confirm her bday is December 10 (we don't know the the exact year when each girl was born only the fact Stella is the oldest by that logic Bloom is the second youngest out of the group) when we get to season 3 it is confirmed that the girls is in their 3rd semester so that makes Bloom 19 at point. Valtor's age we do not know however I'm going to say at most early 20s from what we know Valtor working with a younger Griffin before he got Popsicled.
Here comes the tricky part. In s4 the girls just finished their semester and graduated making them 20-21. Up until s5 where Nicklodeon had to reboot their age making them 16 again. Flashforward to s8 and that makes Bloom age 19 if you are following the reboot or 23 if you do not follow the reboot. Since we don't know how long Valtor been frozen his mental age is up for debate.
For me personally I don't see Sparxshipping as an Edward and Bella situation as Edward was aging naturally during his years while Valtor was frozen and couldn't age naturally but only mentally.
Okay okay first of all! Your Bloom math checks out and I just realized that I for some reason always thought Bloom is 18 in s3. Which is still possible, I think, I just dont know why I assumed that. Actually no, it works, if she is 16 in s1 she is 17 in s2 and 18 in s3, but we dont know a lot about how the school years work in Magix so I'm gonna jot her down as 18-19 for the remainder of this post.
Still dont know how I passed math btw.
Anyway. Valtor's age is where the real mystery is at. We've got two possibilities in my opinion.
1. He's pulling the ageless immortal card.
My personal go-to for fics and discussions. Love me some 300 year old mommy issues. He has too much practice being a messy bitch, there's no fixing this man folks.
Evidence: There's a flashback showing him with Griffin as a tween: she looks MUCH younger, he looks exactly the same. Unless he also stole the secret magic of the world's most potent anti aging cream, or Griffin's proximity to Faragonda just aged her by three more decades, he does not age.
2. He is the age he looks.
Which, in my humble opinion, would not put him anywhere near twenty. That is a grown man. He's not college age, unless you count college professors under that word. Even if I were good at guessing ages the very stylized art style would throw me for a loop, but im gonna say 40s, give or take. Look at Avalon, look at Codatorta, look at King Radius if u must. That is the age range we're looking at.
Evidence: I dont have any. We're ballin'. I guess it's never explicitly stated he's immortal, which you'd think would be big enough of a deal to mention. If u got something feel free to let me know.
That being said, the Winx Club Wiki page for the canon timeline (ha, good one) puts the time of Valtor's creation in a rough time frame from "Over 17 years before season 1" to "Under 100 years before season 6". So he could technically be anywhere from 17-97, though I'm not sure the upper limit is as reliable as the lower one, given the check-list format of the website. So make of that what you will.
Now that we've got the question of age out of the way, lets get to the age gap. I have no idea what the situation in twilight was to be honest, so I cant compare that.
Realistically, there's at least a decade between Bloom and Valtor. Possibly two decades and change. And that is just from visible age, we can add a few centuries on top of that if we're sticking with the immortal bit. I'm gonna be gonest, I dont think being frozen for 17 years will make a whole lot of difference here.
If you find that icky, which is fair, you can always change that for fics tho! Either turn him into a twenty year old or put Bloom in her milf-era, the options are endless. Personally, I think the age difference is half the fun though, and also the least of their issues. When you're off making out with the objectively worst person in history, wether he's too old for her isnt gonna rank very high on people's list of concerns.

You've osmosed correctly, cannibalism is involved!
It's about a high school girl's soccer team whose plane crashes in the wilderness in the 90s and they have to eat each other to survive, and there's a dual plotline with the survivors as 40-something maladjusted adults in the present day. The past timeline is mainly horror and drama, the present timeline has more comedic elements and mystery vibes, but still pretty dark.
What I really like about it is: it feels very ungendered to me. It's about women but it's not about Women, it's about people who ate other people once, and it feels like it could've been about men instead while changing very little.
Also it's genuinely pretty fucked up. They don't just eat each other when they die of natural causes, they form a cult and hunt down and kill each other ritualistically. (This is the introduction of the show btw, not a spoiler.) In the present day two of them kill people in the first season and act very casual about it. imo season 2 starts suggesting a very Hannibalesque theme of the characters almost missing the wilderness because they could unleash their inner darknesses in that situation, and it being a freeing experience in a way.
There's also a bit of a supernatural element it seems? They're pretty vague on that so far, but 'the wilderness' has a supernatural entity vibe. I think it works.
The few cons are that sometimes the tone of the present day feels a little too comedic when paired with the very dramatic past stuff, there's some Hollywood mental illness stuff, and I don't have any ships I'm invested in lol. There are a few canon lesbian characters, a few homoerotic relationships, but none that compel me. But the characters themselves are all pretty great and I'm really into the plot, the mystery elements, the horror, the protag's housewife Walter White vibes... it's pretty great. Would recommend. I think there's 2 seasons and 19 episodes so far.

me and GX really had an enemies to lovers arc i could barely sit through the first episode after finishing DM the guitar stings were too much. i did not care much for any of the characters. it grew on me though we are besties now obvs

fubuki is always himself even at the absolute height of his performance and apparent detachment from reality because the act of performance is so baked into his character he would not be truly “himself” without it. he is both the mask and the wearer.

10 Anti LO Asks
(Note: All of these asks are before episode 206 (Season 2 finale) so some may be dated.)
1. do RS defenders realize the issue is in the fact that, despite being a woman who claims to be a progressive feminist marketing herself to be making a progressive, feminist "reclaiming" of mythology, her work and actions being indistinguishable from awful male writers is?? really bad?? the "if the roles were reversed" argument is to point out her and her work is really no different from the same misogynistic, bigoted men and their stories that she and her fans claim she and LO are better then.
2. The thing is an age gap isn't the actual issue, the issue is the fact Persephone was made A TEENAGER who looks/acts even younger and even in comic it was found gross, THAT's why people were and still are grossed out by it and find Rachel's insistences "subverting it" questionable at best, and an outright lie at worse. This especially is more pointed with the timeskip, because Persephone still looks/acts the same as she did at 19, so it just makes you wonder WHY Rachel made her 19 to begin with.
3. Ok but it IS important to point out how the double standards within LO and RS and especially the fact she is a rich white woman who wants the praise of being progressive and feminist yet her actual actions and story do not show that. We also have to point this out because of how she and her fans weaponize this to say any legitimate criticism is merely "hating women", over the fact she DOES promote and do harmful things other creators (like queer and BIPOC creators) dont get to "grow" from
4. I'm sorry if this comes across as racist. That is not my intention. I hate the human skin colors Rachel Smythe uses. They look unnatural. Like paper grocery bags or potato wedges from KFC.
5. If 10 years passed, shouldn't Dionysus already be born? Semele died? I feel like RS forgot about a whole Olympian God. 🤨
6. I'm reading the comments on Rachel's insta, with the fast pass showing the pink nymth, and the comments speak volumes. Everyone's questioning if it's another lover, or someone is trying to seduce Hades, or Kronos is possessing him (??), Some fans even talk about getting anxiety/blood pressure spikes. Wow... It's almost as if a trama bonded relationship isn't stable. It's almost as if Hades has been unfaithful to past lovers. As if there's a pattern here that makes the readers want to blame the nymth (who has NO voice lines yet, btw. Their attacking her for putting her hand out (smug) and showing side boob (telling her to cover up? That's ironic)) rather than Hades himself. You know. The other person in their relationship. And don't even tell me they're not official yet, I'm tired of beating around the bush, Persephone is literally the queen of the underworld.
7. Do LO fans know that flipping out over even potential other women in Hades' life, despite the fact the whole selling point is knowing Hades and Persephone ends up together, only gives the impression they're not confident in their relationship to begin with? Like yall know they end up together, there's absolutely no reason to flip out at the inclusion of a random woman other than they knowingly or not think the couple is too weak too stand on their own (also misogyny but that's a different convo)
8. Not to be a nerd or anything, but I think LO completely mixed up Kronos and Chronos. The former is the titan of harvest and leader of said titans, while the latter is the personification of time. Similar names, but distinctly separate entities.

Yeah it's hard to say RS is a staunch supporter of SA victims and takes the topic seriously/handles it with care when she made Arion and the result of his birth a child support "joke" when the actual mythology is Demeter being violently r*ped. It's honestly disgusting the fans defend it as "just a joke' while claiming the series stands up for victims. No, it stands up for CERTAIN victims, the rest, what, "deserved" it? Especially Demeter because she's not their "precious cinnamon roll"?
10. The issue with the SA plot too is she uses it to push P towards Hades, but then also can’t just have them jump into bed because of the obvious barriers there from the assault, so she’s basically stuck in this bizarre juggling act where she wants to be praised as this “serious writer who tackles serious issues” yet does nothing because she just wants to draw them boning but can’t because she doesn’t know how to handle SA & its trauma without ignoring it outright, so she doesn’t tackle it anyway!

Season 3 finale! Episode 8!

3.) They really did not CGI that wound well. I forgot Jonathan reaches into the wound at all though. I just remember El using her powers to rip it out.

Like yes he did a good thing at the end and I think MAYBE with some work people (probably not Lucas or Steve) could have learned to forgive him and maybe he could have earned forgiveness, but dying doesn’t actually earn that. Not even dying to protect El and Max.

43.) Why doesn’t Hopper even try to move? Also I just realized they did that fade to black to hide him being taken away at the last minute because you don’t see him on the walkway before the explosion.

45.) Max is so sad. Honestly I am shocked she’s that sad, that fast. Not that it’s wrong for her to react that way, but IDK. I think I just want more representation of that first initial sock of like ‘I don’t know what I feel. This person sucked’.
46.) I forgot the fucking soldiers show up as soon as everything is already completed. Say what you will about the commies, but they were prompt all season.
47.) Owens showed up to have a disappointed dad face at a red crack int he wall.
48.) Will is getting so tall. I love him and Joyce reuniting. But also poor poor El. For a rare time they actually manage to convey information through acting and not words.
49.) THREE MONTHS LATER. I love that the deaths has Barb and Bob BUT NOT BENNY OR THE MORE THAN HALF DOZEN OTHER PEOPLE WHO FUCKING DIED IN SEASON 1. The show literally forgets who all died.
50.) Steve put his mom down as a reference because she’s ‘like super well-respected’.
51.) Steve isn’t an idiot, he’s just dyslexic and is bad at answering on the spot. But he definitely has seen all 3 Star Wars movies without being forced. It wasn’t actually nerdy to see Star Wars in the 1980s, guys. They were blockbuster hits that everyone and their mother watched.
52.) Byers are leaving Hawkins. Joyce has a terrible history with dating.
53.) I love Max and Lucas singing together.
54.) Okay Mike and Will are gay for each other.
55.) I didn’t expect Jonathan’s carpet to be that clean.

Okay so season 3 is a mixed bag at breakneck pace. Hopper’s characterization is inconsistent as hell. I don’t care about Mike/El, tbh. I also think the Duffers don’t understand most media, let alone feminist literature enough to make a cogent point about anything. By this time the Russian angle was already super played out and being set in the 80s doesn’t make it better, honestly.
Anyway, it’s once again a mediocre season elevated by a good cast but I love Steve and Robin being friends. It has good moments and if they’d had a better script it could have been great. But that would require smart men. Smart men who don’t do a circle jerk because they remember 80s movie references.

Back on my Moonlight BS lol
Things I would have liked to see happen in season two (had we got a second season):
Btw: yes I know they had ideas for season 2 but I’m ignoring it (or most of it at least) since I think they were just ideas/drafts and not anything concrete. Plus it’s not like they ever came to fruition in the end anyway.
P.s: this turned out longer than I thought. I’m sorry 🙂
So here is my list in no particular order, sometimes with a reasoning:
1. What happens after the door closes or at least the morning after
2. A.d.a Talbot “interrogating” (so to speak) Guillermo the next day after getting the list of vampires names, Guillermo works in the coroner’s office so it won’t be too out of the ordinary for an A.D.A to be asking a technician questions which turn to personal chit chat questions.
3. As a result we get more information about Guillermo and he gets to be fleshed out a bit more and he’s also the first to suspect something is off about Talbot.
4. More human/vampire relationships that isn’t about drinking blood.
5. Even though Emma and Jackson were killed we still see vampires leaving L.A
6. More vampires that hate being vampires
7. Coraline returns (and not as a flashback), I like Shannyn Sossamon and I feel like there’s more that can be done about Coraline’s story
8. What is so special (in universe) about Beth and Coraline’s rare blood type
9. Have Coraline reveal why she choose to kidnap Beth
10. Lance returns, (yes he’s a bastard but I would like to see him help the L.A vampires even if it’s only for his own survival and not for any vampire solidarity)
11. A pregnancy scare or maybe Beth actually is pregnant (why? because I like drama that’s why) and it’s interesting on re-watch that even from the first episode, family and children are referenced quite a bit especially with episode “What’s left behind”
12. Beth freaks out about the pregnancy scare because she doesn’t know how far along she is it may be Josh’s baby but it looks more like it can be Mick’s baby
13. Talbot “invites” Mick to more and more crime scenes and now Mick is starting to suspect something is off about Talbot.
14. Somehow “The Cleaners” find out about the list Talbot has and immediately suspect Beth and Mick tries to defend her but they won’t listen because Mick and Beth are a couple, but Josef comes to her rescue and reveals she put a hit out on Dean Foster (the gross paparazzi from the episode Click) and the vampires back off Beth.
15. There’s drama about that reveal but Mick can’t be mad for long and he comes clean about killing Tejada (from episode love last forever)
16. A holiday episode nothing cheesy or anything, maybe there’s murders happening around Halloween and the killer is dressed like a vampire or something like that but this time it’s an actual vampire and not a human posing as a vampire like in episode one.
17. Vampires start disappearing because of the list people (I think the creators had intended to call them “The Legion” but that sounds more like a vampire cult than a group of people who hunt vampires. At least to me)
18. Mick finds out about the pregnancy scare/Beth being pregnant and gets worried about the response from the vampire community.
19. Return of the mortal cure
20. So I have two possible ideas for Det. Carl
A. He is part of “The Legion” and that’s a season finale reveal but at the start of season two and as season two progresses he acts more and more odd (Why? Drama and to give him more characterization)
B. He’s in a relationship with a vampire (I think it would be interesting and maybe he and Mick won’t be so hostile to each other and maybe they can go on double dates with Mick/Beth) and it would give the vampires an ally (this would be a mid-season finale reveal)
21. Beth has a baby and we get to see first time dad (and overprotective) Mick
22. Vampires who are stuck in some weird half-human/half-vampire existence (sort of like this vampire named Vladimir Tod in his series called The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod)
23. Something happens with Sarah Whitely
24. Beth and Mick move in together, I think it will more convenient for Beth to move in with Mick, just became his apartment is a little more secure and has all his vampire things hidden away in their secret compartments. 
25. More background information about Logan
26. Vampires going after Talbot
Are some of these ideas dumb? Maybe. Would they be good episodes? Idk probably not, lol but i don’t care. I just got bored and wanted to put my ideas out there

I Watched The Society in 2023
I finished binge watching The Society a couple days ago, knowing it was cancelled before it got a second season.
1 I disliked Allie. And that goofy smile she did when Lexie was talking about how she had to undress in front of the Guard, that smile made me hate Allie even more. I can't stand her.
2 Elle is awesome. Her relationship with Campbell was awesome until the reveal that he's a violent psychopath who can't love her. Real bummer, because that was my favorite pairing in the show.
3 Grizz is awesome. I got a lot of respect for him when he opted out of killing Dewey. The guy has a heart of gold.
4 I actually like Lexie and sympathize with her.
5 During the tag football thing outside on the Thanksgiving episode, I loved the scene when Jason is scolding Will after he got tackled by Kelly. Man, I wish this show got a second season.
6 When they played Fugitives in the second episode, that was awesome. Too cool.
7 That girl in the green prom dress, Jessica, I wish we saw more of her. She was one of those minor characters I became fond of, even though she was barely in the show. She should've been a side character or main character. You cannot show a beautiful character walking in a ruined street while wearing a beautiful dress and not promote her to main character status.
8 When Sam scolded Allie and she was just looking at him, I LMAO'd.
9 I loved the Will and Kelly ship.
10 I loved the Allie/Cassandra sister bond. Like when Allie used herself as a human shield when Campbell pointed his gun at Cassandra. That's sisterly love right there. Allie was a bit of a jerk to Cass sometimes, though.
11 I loved the Gordie and Cassandra pairing. When he said he was going to learn to take care of her, man, my heart ❤️
12 Allie was right when she defended Campbell when Will wanted him executed. You can't kill someone for something they might do. People IRL want to punish people with mental disorders just because they might hurt someone in the future, which is wrong. You punish people when they actually commit a crime. Not before.
13 I love how Allie grieves Cassandra's death. How she lays on her death spot. This show didn't do the cliché non-stop sobbing. The writers made Allie mourn in creative, realistic ways.
14 Someone on Reddit said The Society isn't groundbreaking television, and the person didn't elaborate. How is this not groundbreaking television?
15 That nightmare about the Guard slitting Will's throat and shooting Allie. Pretty cool. And wonderful foreshadowing, considering the Guard betrays Allie and Will in the end. Also, Luke's girlfriend, Helena, was cool until Elle revealed that she (Helena) called Elle a thot. That was so weird and jarring, considering Helena seemed like such a nice character until that moment. Elle is a sweet angel BTW. She deserved better.
16 Kelly was awesome. But I hated it when she cussed out that one girl for saying generalizing men is wrong. Happened in episode 3 at the meeting building, I believe. Also, I had a short-lived theory that Harry and Kelly were brother and sister, because of the fact their parents were having an affair with each other. I figured Harry's mom gave birth to him and Kelly. I guess I watch too much House of the Dragon.
17 I knew the bus driver in the photos was going to become a big deal. I noticed how they kept showing his face whenever the school bus trip pictures were shown, and I knew this would be brought up later.
18 I wish Campbell got killed off.
19 I wish Cassandra lived. I do have to mention that I know she got killed off before I even watched the show. I spoiled it for myself. But I forgot who the killer was. The mystery surrounding the murderer was messing with my mind lol.
20 Wishing this show had more hugs. Allie and Cassandra didn't hug at all.
21 All Becca did was be pregnant. That seemed to be her only thing. She seemed more like a figment of Sam's imagination, since she hardly interacted with any of the other characters.
22 I really hate Allie's character. Kelly and Grizz should have been the main two characters. Also, Will is painfully bland as a character. At least Allie has some complexity to her. Will is one-note and his thing seems to be "I had a bad life" and nothing else.
23 The Society is a great show. It has some flaws, like having the painfully frustrating characters Allie and Will, but that doesn't make it a mediocre show. It's pretty good. And it needs a second season.
