Ya’all want to know what it’s like being a young person in America these days?
I’m a college student in a Creative Nonfiction class this semester. And when I told my professor that I was going to write about a school shooting I’d lived through for my big craft essay he told me I was going to have to come up with some creative or otherwise unexpected angle to write about it from because school shootings are such a common everyday occurrence in America these days that too many people have that shared experience and no one would want to read another school shooting story.
Lemme say that again.
A 16 year old boy, the same age as me when it happened, got shot and killed at my High School.
And that’s such a common everyday occurrence that it would be a bore to read about.
Chew on that for a minute.

I said that, in an ideal country, if the white population of the country was 40% and the black population was 20% then the white prisoner population should also be 40% and the black prisoner population should also be 20% because the same proportion of folks in both groups break the law.
My coworker immediately disagreed.
When questioned about it, she avoided giving an answer.
I said that minorities are getting harassed by white racist cops.
She responded by asking why I thought all white people are racist.
I asked when I said that.
She avoided giving an answer.
I said if a cop kills someone on duty, they have failed as a cop.
She responded by saying "it's a kill or be killed world, so they have to respond as such."
I said that we hold soldiers to higher standards than that, and they're on literal battlefields, so we should at least hold cops up that standard if that's the case.
She said she had a friend in the army who thought the same thing. She didn't elaborate.
I said if cops should be allowed to kill because they feel threatened, then they're not different than an executioner.
She disagreed.
I asked her to explain how I was wrong.
She suddenly remembered some work she had to get done.
She did not answer my question.
I'm so tired.

What Fitting the Description Means
Police can’t pull you over based on a description that’s too vague. For example, if they have a suspect description that only includes “black” and “male,” they can’t legally pull you over just because you’re a black male. They must have sufficient details to reasonably identify the criminal in question. Just as you can fight traffic ticket Los Angeles if you feel it’s been issued unjustly, you can fight being arrested for “fitting the description” if the description is too vague.
Probable Cause vs. Reasonable Suspicion
If an officer can support stopping you because you fit the description of a suspect, he or she may conduct a pat-down search on you to determine that you aren’t carrying a firearm. If you have any passengers, they may also be searched.
If both probable cause and exigent circumstances exist, the officer may search your vehicle. Exigent circumstances include anything that would cause a reasonable person to believe they must take action to prevent physical harm to themselves or other persons, the escape of the suspect, or the destruction of relevant evidence.
An officer can’t do any of these things if there is no reasonable suspicion or probable cause. If you ever feel like your rights were violated and you’re facing criminal charges, contact a commercial vehicle attorney or ticket attorney. Every driver in California has rights, and officers must respect those rights and follow the law whenever they pull over or detain drivers. (excerpts from thedailyjournalist.com)

I don’t like to get political but like just imagine for a second living in a country that prides itself on being the “land of the free” while also forcing women to die because by all means necessary, she must give birth to a child who might also die due to the complications of pregnancy. Oh, and they won’t help you pay for the medical bills.
Oh yea and in that country that also prides itself on a declaration that says “all men are created equal”, likes to think that equality means, white men make decisions about women’s bodies, no POC is equal to a white person in general, mass genocide was necessary to get rid of the natives and steal their land (and then tell them to back to where the came from) and anyone in “the home of the brave” will disappear if they are too brave and speak up.
Now imagine that that’s a real place where millions of people live and millions wished they live because they don’t know or understand the sad truth. Yeah. That place is real, it’s called the USA.
