About Demir

TW: Religious background, Gambling Addictions (mention/parental), gun violence, gore, jail

Demir's never seen the world in black and white because he was surrounded by shades of gray.

For all of Demir's life, his mother was a practicing Muslim and his father was agnostic at best. The division in the household led to many disappointments on his mother's part and frustration on his father's part, but they stayed together until the world pulled them apart.

His father was a lawyer, but an academic first and foremost. He taught at universities when he wasn't on a case and often used his professorship as an excuse for other activities. Activities which Demir only learned about when he was a teenager.

His father loved numbers and that came out in a distinct vice: gambling. Demir was 17 years old, asleep in his father's car, when the car suddenly went off the road. Demir, jerked from sleep, still remembers the way he could hear his heartbeat when his father leaned over to grab a pistol from the glovebox with a low, "stay in the car." He didn't even know his father owned a gun.

They never talked about it beyond that evening. Demir never even told his mother about it. Apparently, his father's vices burned a few people and now he owed them money.

So years later when Demir got a phone call while away at university from his mother about his father's arrest he feigned surprise, but deep down Demir already knew what happened. He never quite forgot that evening when he was 17 years old.

So, much like the love his parents had for each other, Demir's love for his father existed in a gray space. He loved his father for his insatiable thirst for knowledge, a trait he inherited, but he hated his father for all the pain he caused his mother.

Demir, also an academic at heart, found solace in the science lab. The brain with its intricacies, at times more unexplored than the sea, mystified him. Why did people like his father — people who were wildly intelligent fall — victim to their vices? What made us forgive some people but not others? What wires in the brain crisscrossed to allow such gray spaces?

So, he completed his schooling and his residency, he went to mosque during Ramadan and kept away from alcohol, and he visited his father in jail.

Crime Verse Twist

He also runs an underground clinic some nights a week because medical research costs money even with the backing of government grants and hospital funding.

So, Demir gets a knock at his door and someone with vague answers winds up in his bathroom bleeding and gritting their teeth through the pain. He might be a neurosurgeon by day, but what happens in the night tends to pay better -- surprisingly enough.

At first the money shoved under his door made Demir pause. He knew it wasn't right, it made him think of his father addicted to numbers, but it was helpful and who is he to turn down a helping hand?

2. Nicknames: My former friends back from school and my parents call me Sibi. I hate that one lmao So I’m glad that the only friend i still got from school doesn’t do that anymore lol. And then some of my co-workers call me Belle. The rest just calls me by my name.

4. Height: i always thought i was 5′5 but my friend and i measured each other and turns out i’m only 5′3 LMAOOO

5. Languages spoken: German, English, some French, a bit Spanish and a tiny portion Korean.

i chose them all because i love them dearly, so honestly, nah. i mean they all fluctuate in how much muse i have for them but i love them all?

which one of your muses have you been playing the longest?

it depends on what you count as ‘longest’. i played morgan first, i played him for about two years. i write kono for probably around two years, on and off, save for malia. kono and malia might be the ones i’ve been writing the longest? just on sheer amount of writing i’ve put into them. emily and elle are both … not new muses, but they never really took off last time i wrote them. i can’t even find emily’s old blog. i’m not sure she had one.

which one of your muses has the most ships?

depends. active ships i’m writing? emily. things i just ship? probably kono? or maybe emily still. though honestly i have a lot for kono.

honestly i have … a lot. but in RP things i like to just let things develop organically? and you can pretty much guarantee that if i don’t ship it romantically for criminal minds, i ship it platonically.

which muse is the most fun to write for?

honestly? all of them. they’re all fun for different reasons, and i get to explore different relationships and themes with all of them. but honestly kono probably makes me laugh the most.

is there another muse you’ve been thinking of adding or writing for? who?

this is actually something i wanted to float. i wanted to add some sort of side character eventually - probably not a main canon muse who has a lot of backstory, but someone else like malia.

i’m not sure honestly? you can always ask for anything you want to know.

what’s a weird headcanon you have for each of your muses?

for the ones i’ve written longer, i’ve developed … a series of weirder headcanons for them. kono has the most, malia has a lot. emily, derek, and elle have the least, because i’ve written them the least.

kono:

watches reality shows with screaming in them to calm down. once promised to drink the whole ocean. really, really, REALLY bad at cooking, which got confirmed by the show pretty much. has a Thing about elvis. hid in chin ho kelly’s suitcase as a kid. more than once.

malia:

she’s my only straight female muse. ( i’m kIDDING. i mean i’m not, she is, but that’s not the weird headcanon. ) most of her headcanons aren’t weird, they’re just specific. she owned a german shepherd named Harley when she was younger, and wants to own irish wolfhounds.

elle:

???? idk help me develop her more

morgan:

absolutely spent more than two hours trying to google what a ‘sin to win’ weekend was only to find out that prentiss had made garcia block the website on his personal laptop.

emily:

may or may not discuss herself being attracted to women using her cat as a metaphor, because she’s just Not Used to trusting other people. that’s not even a head canon, its’ happened, just … not so explicitly. ‘sergio poops in a box and he’s the perfect man’

kono has a star w.ars verse, a marve.l verse, and her normal verse. emily has several canon timeline verses but not too many AU verses. malia has st.ar wa.rs as well.

can you sort your muses from youngest to oldest?

honestly it depends on where in the timeline we’re in so not really? in general, though? kono is the youngest ( anywhere from like, 29 to 37ish ), followed by elle, morgan & malia, and then prentiss - who in canon was born in 1970, so is now 48. she’s the only one still on the show she came from, so.

which muse is most willing to fight another muse?

depends on the situation. any single one of them will fight if someone they love is threatened.

do your muses get along with each other?

morgan and emily and morgan and elle definitely get along. morgan and emily love each other So Much. morgan and elle literally went on vacation together. i feel like elle and emily would get along pretty well?

malia and kono used to love each other a lot, and then when the news about chin ho broke and he forced her to break up with him, kono always thought malia had walked out on him. so she sort of hated her for several years, but they’re good now.

would you ship any of your muses together? who?

honestly it’d have to be someone ELSE’s version of that muse
