DP x DC: True Love’s Kiss
loosely inspired by the Princess and the Frog, but more inspired by Comet the Super Horse, Supergirl’s oft forgotten “pet”
And by “pet” I mean Comet isn’t a kryptonian horse, he’s a fucking centaur named Biron cursed by a witch to switch between forms that also gave him superpowers. Might not have been a curse, but still oddly specific considering he was just her horse for a while and also in love with her I think?? Also a member of the Legion of Super-Pets.
So LET’S DO THAT TO DANNY(kind of)
So the legend of the church Grim, is that it’s a protective spirit of sorts guarding churches and cemeteries, taking the form of a large black dog with red eyes.
So, one of the various witches, warlocks, occultists or sorcerers managed to bind Danny, to guard... something. Danny isn’t quite the normal type of spirit and frankly the person clearly messed something up. The result?
Danny is stuck in the form of a black dog with access to some of his powers. Frankly, they seem suspiciously like Krypto’s powers... The League suspects Lex Luthor experimented with cloning Krypto, and Superboy get’s a superpowered pet of his own.
Danny and Kon? The best of friends. They’re practically glued at the hip, where kon goes, Danny goes. Suddenly, being a dog isn’t all that bad. Sure, there’s the can’t talk or order fast food, but Kon feed’s him a lot more “people food” than he should when Ma Kent isn’t looking, and the dog food they get is surprisingly tasty. It’s fun wrestling with Kon, and Kon gives the best belly rubs. They take on bad guys together go on adventures, and it’s a surprisingly enjoyable life.
The one day, snuggled up in Kon’s bed ready to got to sleep, Kon just smooches his dog on the head, and *POOF*
Kon’s dog just transformed into a man his age, who is currently naked and in his bed.

I loooove when pairings are in their early development phases and there's no common consensus on the ship name and there are two variations each on combinations of first names and of last names and then a random other cheeky ship name that's just two vaguely character-related nouns mashed together it's so much fun

kinda cool how in season one eleven escapes the lab thinking she's the monster & in season four eleven escapes the lab again knowing she never was and that none of what happened was ever her fault.
and how in season two she goes on a journey to figure out part of her past and is told by another of the lab's victims that she needs to find strength in pain and anger & in season four we saw that it was her mother calling her by her real, human name and telling her that she loved her that gave her enough strength to overpower evil and banish it from their dimension, not the hurt and rage she felt at her being taken away. and that again, she was able to perform a miracle and bring her friend back to life by thinking of the love she showed her and the way she had always treated her like she was a human being.
she and her story are just really cool, methinks.

I should ask more specifically if you have any thoughts on Marianne Williamson's bid for the presidency and her campaign. She's a bit of a kook, but her PLATFORM seems really solid and definitely might appeal to the "vote republican for the economy!" moderates.
To be honest, I haven't looked up her platform or any of her policies, and I don't care if they appeal to the mushy middle who always wants an excuse not to vote for Democrats because they're "too socially liberal." Considering that whatever candidate the GOP runs, be it Trump or DeSantis or another of their terrible people, will be an unrepentant, unreconstructed, full-out fascist who can't be allowed to win at any cost, any person selfish enough to deliberately increase the odds of that candidate winning, as prominent third-party candidates always, ALWAYS hurt the Democrats, is not a serious figure or someone who should remotely be given any attention or artifical media prominence.

look, i’m not going to shit on the average person for coming out of Nope confused and a bit lost. it’s got a lot of layers to it! there’s aspects that require a good degree of thought to pick apart and really truly understand, especially if you’re not someone who likes to hyperanalyze your media. like literally all media, it’s not for everyone, and people are allowed to dislike things.
that said, i feel like professional film critics whose job it is to Understand Cinema should be able to do a decent bit of that. but it seems like a bunch are dismissing Nope as meandering and thematically incoherent because they can’t assign a clear-cut objective meaning to the shoe or figure out why the gordy’s home plotline was significant or they’re upset that peele didn’t wrap all his thematic throughlines up in a neat little bow with a moral and a thesis at the end of the movie and it’s like. this is- you get PAID for this???????????

as someone who knows absolutely nothing at all about horses / horse riding, i am. obsessed. with all the king's horses. i loved the new chapter 🥰
Ahhhh thank you so much for reading!! I know this AU is very niche (and that myself and maybe like three other people are the target audience lol) but I am just so thankful for all of the support it has received and that people are still willing to give it a chance! I have so much fun working on it (and was literally flatting my horse after work today day dreaming about the fic lol) and I love horses SO MUCH so getting to combine these two things makes me extra happy! Thank you SO MUCH for reading, and if you ever have any horse questions let me know! I've been trying to make things clear to not horse people as well, but if I ever get too "nerdy horse girl" about it let me know! Thank you for reading and your kind words about the new chapter and sending this ask!! I hope you had a wonderful Friday and that you have the best weekend!
❤️Ally

How do you feel about Ash Ketchum (aka World Champion) retiring from the anime soon?
Very bittersweet :’) On one hand it’s really difficult letting go of a core piece of my childhood, on the other I think we’ve seen p much everything there is to see from Ash’s journey and it’s at a very good stopping point now, so I’m comfortable with his story ending here.
I’m actually very excited to see which direction they go in with the SV anime, and since I absolutely adore SV’s story I really hope they adapt all of that in the new season. It sucks we won’t be able to experience that with Ash but that boy’s been carrying us long enough, I think it’s time he finally gets some rest
