Writing smut about Neteyam is just wrong. Even if he is aged up, doing that so you can write it is still weird. Stick to Jake Sully and adults, but this isn’t right. Don’t ignore this.
Aging Up of Characters
All characters in my literature are adults, in terran and human years. Meaning, when I'm writing them I see them as adults. Therefore, I will portray them as such - mentally, physically, culturally, etc. Although my blog is an nsfw blog, I include their character development outside of smut. Moreover, age isn't really counted on pandora. Na'vi age quicker than humans do and experience a plateau until their senior years (which they can live for well over a hundred years). What really matters to the na'vi is passing their iknimaya - that's what makes them an adult (ready for a mate, etc).
Anyways, this isn't necessarily my main point, but it's something to keep in mind going forward.
Now, I know James Cameron did such an amazing job at portraying these aliens in a light that us humans can really relate to them, didn't he? To the point where perhaps we could start applying our own laws to them. I guess that's why it's so hard for people to really differentiate the two species sometimes :) but, you know, the na'vi are humanoid aliens, after all. aliens that have their own way of life and biology? that live on another planet? that doesn't exist? are we forgetting that these are fictional characters or something?
Most importantly, their actors are of age, yes? Yes. So I don't personally see the issue here. I can distinguish that characters and actors are not synonymous, but my point is, if their actors were underage that would be a different story. Yes, I am also aware of their age when avatar was filmed. But, they grew up - much like their fictional characters will in the next movie. Everyone was once a child - everyone grows up.
I do my upmost best to tag my fictions properly and thoroughly. If there are any fictions that you feel I may not have tagged correctly, feel free to let me know. I have no issue with being corrected, I would honestly love to be corrected. My intention is never to cause harm to anyone. If you don't like this type of content - which is totally fine and your right - I strongly recommend you avoid consuming it. Especially if it's triggering. You'll have my respect if I have yours.
Anyways, I do hear you, though. I understand it, even. You're entitled to your opinion, as am I. I mean no harm to anyone, and thankfully because the characters I'm writing about are fictional - fake, it won't harm them either. No pressure to look at my (extremely nsfw) blog or to read my (heavily warned) content - you definitely have a choice here.
But here's my (also unsolicited) advice:
Remind yourself that these are fictional characters. They don't exist :) Meaning no one here is being hurt or harmed in anyway. Take a deep breath and find comfort in that. Please also remember, that there are much bigger, and better things to worry and advocate about. To be clear - yes, pedophilia is a serious issue. But, throwing around such a word when regarding aged up fake characters from a movie really dilutes it and is disrespectful to the real life victims of pedophilia as well as other victims of sexual abuse, child porn, human trafficking, slavery.. unfortunately the list goes on. These are the people that need to be advocated for. So, I would strongly encourage you to channel your passion to advocate for real life matters - not blue, fictional aliens. Because truthfully, me and my blue alien fictions should not have this magnitude of an effect on you for you to seek me out and take time out of your day to message me about it.
To conclude, I will not be engaging in any further discussions relating to this topic. This is my perspective. If you don’t share a similar one, that’s fine. Do not engage with my explicit content, especially if you are under 18. I feel very strongly about this. My content is intended for adult consumption only as it contains explicit adult themes pertaining but not limited to - pregnancy, birth, sex, dub-con/dark themes, heats/ruts, etc. If you are a minor messaging me about these things you should not be here in the first place. All further comments & messages will be disregarded and blocked.
'nuff love,
issy.

A New Mission: Ash to Fire is Complete!
Tumblr media
New pinned post! 📌
Wow everyone... it's done. It's really done! 395,000+ words in ~4.5 months. I am SO pleased to be able to mark this story complete. Extra special shout-outs to @quaritchsgirl/@bluekernal and @kings-evil for their incredible art which accompanies and breathes life into the story. (Going to put up a separate post soon collating all ANMAF art)
Story summary:
Miles Quaritch failed his first mission to capture Jake Sully, the leader of the Na’vi insurgency. Now, the RDA and Bridgehead Command have a new mission for him and his surviving recoms, Wainfleet and Mansk—a mission to gather intel and make an alliance with the newly contacted Ash People, a Na'vi clan endemic to a volcanic archipelago. What’s at first just orders will slowly come to change the young Colonel’s life and his relationship with Pandora, his son, and the RDA forever.

Sequel Info-- A New Mission: Happiness is Simple
This longfic, a true labor of love for Avatar, is essentially an Avatar 3, or post-Way of Water story primarily through recombinant Miles Quaritch's eyes that sees him continuing his parallels with Jake Sully, and with heat and flare! Recoms Wainfleet and Mansk are heavily supporting and developed as well.
It's a slow-build that really expands to a film-sized scope as it goes on capturing many different characters' point of views. It features Miles' existential crisis and also movie era flashbacks. I've done my best to be logical and reasonable with the in-movies set canon and sequel foreshadowing.
I really have tried to write it in the spirit of Avatar and James Cameron (if that's even possible haha) and it includes solid and plausible world-building and lore pertaining to the Ash People and even some for the RDA, is well-researched (regarding things like military jargon, weapons, geology, etc.), and has enjoyable original characters. I think you'll really love the main Ash Na'vi OC. My regular readers sure do :)
Also, if smut is not your thing, there's only a few instances in the entire story and it is kindly written with content warnings to be 100% skippable! I look at the included smut as no less than comparable to what Jake and Neytiri are doing behind the scenes and no more hot and heavy than the Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor love scene in James Cameron's Terminator haha.
Who is this story for? I believe if at least any three of the following five things pertain to you, you'll really like my story! 💙🧡
1. Like Quaritch and find him compelling, attractive, or both and want to see his story arc continue in a grounded way with a love interest component (parallels with Jake!) 2. Wanted to see more from the recoms. 3. Can't wait until Avatar 3! 4. Enjoy the world of Avatar and all of its main characters (Jake, Neytiri, Spider, Kiri, etc. are all deeply respected in my story!) 5. Like long, very visually descriptive stories
Check it out if you get a chance! And feel free to drop me a line or comment letting me know if you enjoy it! 🥰 Such goes a long way for us writers.
Also... I am working on a sequel 😅

from all ur chucky posting i finally read the wikipedia pages with the episode summaries to get a bit of context for them and honestly im so happy for u, this show seems right up ur alley
I gotta say it's been very strange to have gone from "I can't even look at dolls for extended seconds" to "Chucky is my favorite series" but Don Mancini is ridiculous and I just think he can do what he wants.
That said, I still don't love dolls, and I refuse to buy any Chucky merch that could potentially hold a knife.
For anyone interested in, like, what the fuck is going on in the franchise without actually sitting down to watch 7 movies and 3 seasons of a TV show to get caught up like the GOAT that I am, I highly recommend the Kill Count (ReCount) of the franchise.
James A. Janisse does a fantastic job of not just giving you the plot, characters, and lore, but goes into the production process, special effects, and the history behind the franchise as well. The progression of technology for the puppeteers is utterly fascinating to me. (Shout out to the TV show for listing the puppeteers in the credits as Chucky performers, as is Right and Proper.)
I think a lot of people are mostly worried about the gore of the franchise upsetting them, which is entirely understandable, I'm not a huge fan of gore myself-- personally, I find that the best way to watch the series is with people who have seen it and can warn for the particularly gruesome bits.
There have been a few kills I had to look away from, and others I thought I would that turned out not as bad as I was worried they'd be or were cooler effects than they were scary bad things to look at with my eyeballs. Most recently, the mid-season finale of Season 3 managed to make all of us scream and hide our faces during multiple kills, and god, it. was. great.
Admittedly, my favorite kill and the one I think is just, fucking, art is John Waters' death scene in Seed of Chucky*, which is [apparently] widely considered the worst kill of the series and the worst movie of the franchise but they're wrong. (I picked a hill and I will kill on it. Seed is amazing and I'm sorry y'all didn't catch the genre change with Bride.) *content warning applies for a melted face and, y'know, killer dolls.
But I'm also staunchly of the opinion that there is no "bad" Chucky movie, only particularly strong ones, and ones that Don Mancini didn't have majority control over.

Was tagged by @waywardcheshire to answer these 9 questions.
I will try not to write books for answers but be warned i talk too much... okay here goes:
Last Song: Had Radio Company's Keep on Ramblin' on as I had a nap earlier so something from there.
Favourite Colour: (Yes i gave Canadian spelling) Black. I LOVE Black way too much but if you don't consider that or white colours then its a tie between blue and yellow.
Last Movie/TV show: Supernatural of course for tv. Movie i can't remember off the top of my head so I'll give a second last tv show which was Ally McBeal.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Sweet for sure. I'm so addicted to chocolate and sweets its bad. Then Savory.
Relationship Status: Married to my high school sweetheart. We met when I was 15 and he was 16 and been together ever since. 32 years and still going. We are the epitome of boring old married couple and I love it even when he's a cranky asshole!
Last thing I googled: Hair colour photo's because i decided to drastically change my hair. Think long (mid back) thick and blond to a dark chocolate bob. Needed a big change. Needed to not live with it pulled into a bun all the time because I'm too lazy to do anything with it, lol.
Current Obsession: A friend just recommended Tangents with Tyler and Todd podcast on Youtube and I have binged it all. first they talk a lot about their relationship and history then they get into what they call tea time and those eps are HILARIOUS. Basically people writing in their scandalous situations and the boys comment and give their advice. Once I binged that in like 3 days I then went back to watch all their rv trip (right before covid) and am now watching them set up land off grid during covid, lol. They are the sweetest gay couple who married after university and have been together 15 years and they are the cutest most adorable couple. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for something to watch.
and of course SPN ever since i started it during the pandemic. I will forever be grateful to Covid for this particular thing, giving me time to tackle a 15 season show. By the end of the first year i had seen the whole thing three times already and was deep into youtube con videos.
Last book: Although I used to read romance novels and some biographies all the time I haven't read anything except fanfiction in like a year, year and a half. Too obsessed with Wincest to read anything else these days.
Looking forward to: So many things. Looking forward in what sense... entertainment? Well I'm going to watch the He-Man Revolution with two of my kids tomorrow that we have wanted to see. Looking forward to any J2 content from the next convention. Looking forward to finding my muse again and getting back to writing (really want that one to happen but its been gone since a medications change at the end of summer). Oh here's a personal one, looking forward to more snow so my husband and three kids (teens - 20s) go away sledding and i can have the whole house to myself. peace and quiet!!!!!
How's that?
tagging @fallenfar @fandom-hoarder @jinkieswouldyoulookatthis @dadrockenjoyer if you have already done this or just done want to please ignore the tag.

Hello. Other anon inspired me to come out of the shadows as well to send an ask. Love your blog and scogan stuff. Thank you for posting ❤
I was wondering if you had any recommendations on where to start in the comics concerning Scott and just the x men in general? I enjoy the movies, but I want to know more about him via the comics. I feel it would help me write him better in fanfic (also give me more scenarios to write him in lol!). Also could you suggest ones where he interacts with certain members like Logan, Jean, Ororo, Warren, etc? I feel like that would help write better scogan and his other relationships better as well.
Apologies if this a big ask! Comics come be pretty nerve-wracking to get into (especially when their are bad writers involved and you don't know to avoid them).....
Thank you so much!!!
First of all anon thank you so very much for reaching out! You have no idea how much this warms my heart to see people asking about Scogan as a lot of the time fandom can be pretty quiet so thank you for your kind words! I'm so happy that you enjoy the content on here. My archive is full of Scogan goodies from the movies, comics, etc. and if you ever want to look around at some of it in some down time, you can look directly by going here and it will direct you to everything I have tagged Scogan (warning it's a lot lol)
That being said in terms of comics obviously I can see how it is just overwhelming in general. These are in no particular order as I'm going off the top of my head on this, but they are worth reading if you are looking for Cyclops related stuff.
Tumblr media
The recs I'll give you under the cut here:
Cyclops/Scott related comics: X-Men Origins: Cyclops (2010) This is a one shot that gives you a brief overview of Scott's life leading up to him arriving at the school with Charles. Various comics have kind of changed around his story every now and then, but I think this is a nice one shot to get you started on seeing a glimpse of young Scott.
X-Men: First Class (2007) I personally haven't read this one in full although I have seen panels from it, but it centers around the original first class crew (Scott, Jean, Warren, Hank, Bobby) and it seems to be a comic people enjoy. It would give you a glimpse of the team dynamics in the early years and how they interacted with one another.
All New X-Men (2012?) by Bendis. Now I'm not going to lie this one is a mixed bag for me because I absolutely hate a lot of what goes on in this time period, but the reason why I mention it is because adult version of Hank has basically decided to get revenge on adult version of Scott for the events leading up to Schism/AvX (more on that later) so he comes up with a brilliant plan to bring the teenage versions of the X-Men into the future to I guess see what they adult versions have done. I personally feel like he did it to be a jerk and torture Scott, but in the same breath it does establish time displayed teenage Scott learning about the future ahead of him in leading into the Cyclops solo below where he goes on space adventures with his estranged dad, which given that he's a kid out of time you may need to read this one to understand why Scott from the past is hanging out in the future.
Cyclops (2014) teenage Scott gets to hang around with his space pirate dad and bond. It's fun, probably doesn't stick as it goes on in canon since eventually (spolier alert) the teens get sent back to their time to right the wrongs that took place, but at least it gives Scott the opportunity to spend time with his dad and live a little more than he did at the school with Charles.
X-Men: Marvels Snapshots Vol 1 1 This one is a one shot that really just features a young Scott who idolizes and finds hope in admiring Reed Richards. It's a great read and gives you a glimpse into young Scott's mind again to really explore his teenage years for a snapshot if you will.
Scott/Logan related recs: Let me preface this by saying I will not get to cover everything, but some of these are great with some memorable moments with Scott as a leader with his team and him and Logan doing what they do best working together: Astonishing X-Men (by Joss Whedon) While I know Joss Whedon has a lot of problematic things going on, this comic was my very FIRST comic I picked up and I'm so glad I did. It's a great display of Scott as a leader. He's with Emma Frost at this point in time in a romance, but the team dynamics and the story really showcase how good Scott can be when he's running the show and taking his team to victory. This is a really good comic and there's a lot of snark, banter, superhero costumes and more. I enjoyed this run and it was my first introduction to Scott/Emma (which I was glad it happened here because I might have felt differently had I seen the origin of it first, but thankfully it's a good comic with action/adventure and Scott being a bad ass in leading his team. Prelude to Schism: Now let me start this by saying that I absolutely HATE, HATE, HATE what Marvel did in Schism (which a lot of people dub Scott and Logan's divorce arc), but...to deny that there is a silver lining in some of these subtle moments in the calm before the storm would be a shame. It's a mini-series where it explores the dynamic of Scott's relationship with those closest to him from Charles, to Magneto, to Emma and Logan. It's a really good read and you get some great Scott/Logan moments in it. They were so solid together by the time this mini was over that you should've known they were going to wind up in a bad place in the not so distant future. X-Men Schism (aka the bitter divorce that was so out of character for Logan it hurts) This series really makes me want to scream at Logan. I love him, but it felt like a cash grab to split the team into two so they could sell two different comics with Logan leading one team and Scott leading the other, which of course they did, but for all it's faults the very first issue of this with Scott and Logan is WONDERFUL. You really get a sense of what they are to each other and it's really good with Logan being there for Scott in what he needs to do. It rapidly goes down hill as they reach a breaking point, but that first issue...it's pretty good. A lot of people would recommend the Dark Phoenix saga as well as that's the big one they do and mess up in the films, but that's entirely up to you. I have much more to say, but I'll have to put it in another post since I write too much lol (To be continued here...)

Ooooh I love your book rec idea! Okay, here goes, hopefully you haven’t read this already:
One of my favorite books growing up that I’ve not found a lot of people have read is one of Louisa May Alcott’s lesser known novels, Eight Cousins (and its sequel, Rose in Bloom, which happens eight years later). It’s about a thirteen-year-old girl named Rose who finds herself very suddenly orphaned and in possession of a very large fortune, and is adopted by her uncle and has to go live with him among her four aunts and seven male cousins (yikes!), none of whom she has ever met before, as her father and her uncle had been estranged (though she doesn’t know why). The first book is very heartwarming, exploring how Rose comes into her own in her adolescence and overcomes her fear of and bonds with her male cousins—sort of written in the same serialized style of Little Men. I know you said to recommend one book, but I can’t really recommend this one without recommending the sequel— Rose in Bloom is definitely the stronger of the two books, but doesn’t make a lot of sense without building off the context of Eight Cousins.
Rose is a wonderful protagonist—almost the complete opposite of Jo—and is an excellent example of a well-written enneagram 2. (You know that speech Jo gives in the 2019 Little Women that goes “Women have minds and souls as well as hearts” etc.? That was actually stolen verbatim from Rose in Rose in Bloom, where she gives that whole speech in front of all seven of her grown male cousins. I’m still a little salty about it, lol.) Rose in Bloom also has my favorite of Alcott’s love interests, but I won’t spoil who it is for you 😁.
As for content warnings, there aren’t really any, but I will mention a couple things:
The second book involves marrying of cousins as a main plotline, but if that bothers you, the first book is enjoyable on its own.
There are descriptions of Asian characters that can be a bit…shall we say, of the times occasionally. It’s clearly not meant to be insulting or malicious, as Alcott was an abolitionist and the character in question’s plotline involves an interracial marriage (which would’ve been pretty uncommon in literature when this was published), but it will probably make you raise your eyebrows here and there.
A major plotline in the second book involves a main character dealing with alcoholism. It’s extremely well-handled in my opinion, but is a bit upsetting.
Anyway, sorry to ramble so long—happy reading!
I'll admit that I am something of a Philistine and don't really like Little Women, but that's mostly because grown-ups who didn't really know me kept on gifting me copies of the book when I was a kid, and so I kind of resented it (like, "What, just because I'm a girl I have to like this book?"). Also, I think I read it too young to fully appreciate it; I read it at a time when I wanted high adventure and death-defying heroics from my books, not small domestic adventures and then marriage XD I enjoyed the first part of the story well enough, but once they all started growing up I got bored. I suppose one of these days I ought to give it a second chance as an adult who can appreciate the subtler nuances of the story and its literary merits.
Consequently, I haven't seen the 2019 movie, but I can understand the frustration of stealing a different protagonist's lines. How dare they!
But anyway, that's neither here nor there. Eight Cousins sounds lovely! I'm looking forward to reading it, and will keep my eyes peeled for that speech. And hey, if nobody else bites, I'll probably have time to read Rose in Bloom as well ;)

You are BRAVE for watching the exorcist and if you feel like it can you share if it’s really as scary as i think it is because i want to watch it but I cannot handle horror antagonists that can break into my house ones that are invisible inescapable and make me feel insane #letterboxdanon :3
LMAO THANKS! I didn't find it "scary" per se, more unsettling? or upsetting? I, too, try to avoid horror that "could" happen to me bc like hey, IM me, i dont want that! but the exorcist is like 'whoaaghg this dude brings back an amulet from the desert and the devil posesses a child and also there is a ouija board!!!' and its like ok well that wont happen to me, for i do not have any amulets from the desert, nor do i fuck w ouija boards.
it gets pretty fuckin gnarly in terms of audio/visuals tho im ngl ! im a huuuuge sfx fan (actually almost went to school for it teehee) so whenever stuff goes bananas in movies im able to just go :0 how'd they do that and kinda add a layer of distance between me and The Horrors TM. i was really going "AYO?" and "THIS IS WILD" a lot more than feeling scared.
i think theres an inherant and unavoidable change in how it's recieved by the audience bc 50 literal years have happened since it was made, also! i can 10000% see why it fucked people up real bad in the 70s bc there was nothing like it before, but sooo much more different horror has been made since (and been influenced by!) the exorcist.
all in all it was great imo and recommend watching even beyond it being a horror classic. the lil girls performance is crazy good, the slowburn rules, its very 70s, and also the ♥︎ sfx ♥︎
i have a blanket recommendation tho to use this website to check for triggers/content warnings! they get rly specific which is nice and often include either a timestamp or a "look away when x happens"
bonus note i do think your experience w the exorcist will be a lil dependant if you were raised w faith or not. i had 1 atheist parent and 1 buddhist parent (re: no faith) so i was kinda chilling while watching, whereas my ex-catholic gf (re: recognized the prayers in the movie) was Defs getting more heebies.

I've been wanting to watch Everything all at once but it has a Mature rating and I'm worried about watching it with family. Is the rating for things of sexual nature or some other reason?
oh dear.
EEAAO is truly a fantastic movie and i definitely recommend it, it's a real experience, and its themes are really poignant in ways i think a whole family could resonate with (if they're the type to engage with themes and not go into it passively)
(also, while it's not a warning in my book and doesn't apply as sexual nature, in case this warning applies regarding your parents, there are gay characters in the story who's relationships are often being discussed. Advise in term your parents are the type of people who would make it unsafe to watch with).
but, as for the rating it is because of general fighting violence/blood, and indeed, some visual jokes of sexual nature that could be very awkward to watch with parents especially if they're really "i don't want my child to see anything about sex exist" type of parents.
If you're really worried about your parents's reacting to the sexual jokes, you might want to watch it at your own discretion first, if at all depending on how you personally feel about it.
I'll say there's no really explicit nudity nor explicit sound if that can help you?
One of the jokes takes a full scene to be showed though and might be really uncomfortable to watch depending on the family's tolerance of it all. Other than that the remaining couple of jokes are rather anecdotical, though not really ignorable either.
Under the cut i'll just add an as-vague-as-possible notion of the jokes to expect, in the hope it's vague enough that it doesn't provoke an explicit imagery nor give away what's exactly happening, but if the fact the jokes are of sexual nature themselves is already a hard limit for you, feel free to not look under the read more.
In my personal opinion, i'd say if you're an older teen (like, above 15) you'd probably be okay with it on a personal level (it feels like jokes teenagers would vibe with imo, or at least, was so back in my days (but also i'm not american so idk how indicative it is considering the culture gap)), but if you're parents are really stuck up about sex it will probably come out as very awkward (at best) to watch with them.
It really depends on the type of parents and their exact level of tolerance to sexual content imo but i would perhaps recommend you to watch it with friends instead if you can afford to, and then advise with how you'd feel your parents would react to it.
If anything, i hope you don't feel too obligated about it, and i hope that it doesn't scare you off too much as it's probably like. 5 to 10 mins of a 2 hours long beautiful movie. But i know that parents can be strict about it or that some people, esp when you're young, may really have a revulsion to this content even being in it at all, so it's the best i can do as far as warning goes.
I hope it works out for you though nonny! Take care!
And so just to the clarification:
On a slight detail, there are a couple visual jokes that involves fighting with dildos and with the longest scene revolving about using the dildo in its intended destination for the fight to occur, with the grittiest detail being slightly censored but still rather made clear on screen how it's being used.
And another, rather quick but still There visual joke involving a Dominatrix doing dominatrix things (the individuals are fully dressed but the kink is explicit on the screen)
i don't remember anyone making any weird sounds during those scenes if it helps figuring if the scenes can pass as "soft" to you.
Hope it helps! take care!

Horror Recs for Magnus Fans, Part the Second
Last time I did this I was assuming that anyone who was listening to a horror podcast already knew some horror, but I have since learned that this is not the case, so there are a few more classics in here, as well as some more of my faves.
For anyone and everyone who listens to TMA: Sarah Monette's Kyle Murchison Booth stories, many (though not all) of which are collected in The Bone Key. Queer information professional would very much like for ghosts and monsters to leave him alone, does not get what he wants; can't resist the impulse to help out people who are more fucked over than him anyway. I love Booth so much, he deserves much better things than he gets.
For Web stans: Blindsight by Peter Watts, a sci-fi horror novel about free will and consciousness. Lydia Nicholas named this as one of her favorite books in the first Assistant's Round Table; I respect her for it, but I read this once and it gave me an existential crisis. Highly recommended, but make sure you've got a palate cleanser.
For jonelias fans and/or fans of the Corruption: Candyman (1992). With bonus folklore & urban legend meta! Kissing bees into your (potential) lover's mouth in order to convince them to become a murderous spirit of vengeance just like you! "All you have left is my desire for you"!!! It's extremely sexy, is what I'm saying, in all the best ways. (Trigger warnings for violence against children and a fair amount of gore, in addition to the aforementioned bees.)
If you love the no-holds-barred social commentary of season five: The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle. No, I will not shut up about this book until absolutely everyone in the world has read it. It's short! You could read it in an afternoon! This is Lovecraft's "The Horror at Red Hook" from the point of view of a black musician and hustler who's hired to help out with the ritual, and it's incredible. (If you're enjoying Lovecraft Country, absolutely do not miss this.)
If you miss the standalone statements of season one and two: the works of the early 20th century cosmic horror and ghost story writers: M.R. James, Algernon Blackwood, Arthur Machen. Machen has a tendency to get pretty eugenics-y, and they're all either misogynistic or don't have women in their stories at all, but goddamn do they do atmosphere. ("The Magnus Archives" is named after James's "Count Magnus," Jonny's favorite M.R. James story.)
For Stranger fans and those who love unexplained mysteries: The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher, a Southern horror (not a Gothic) about a woman who goes to clean out her abusive grandmother's house to sell it only to find that there are things other than his wife that her grandfather was afraid of, and for good reason. Features hot competent neighbors, extremely practical reactions to terrible monsters, and a Very Good Dog (the dog does not die).
For Lonely bitches: "The Horla" by Guy de Maupassant, the story I use to describe my depression to people. That's a pretty good content warning, honestly.
If you loved the "Am I still human?" plotline: The Monster of Elendhaven by Jennifer Giesbrecht, a grotesque little novella about monsters in (dysfunctional) love. I'm a bit iffy on the ending, but honestly landing the ending of horror is so tricky that I'll almost never discount something just because I'm iffy on the ending. The body horror and emotional repression throughout make up for it.
If you crave the supernatural adventure series starring Gerry Keay: The Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey - modern noir, so gritty you can feel it in your teeth, featuring all kinds of monsters, demons, curses, and narrowly-averted apocalypses. Not as misogynistic as noir can get, but it is noir so there's definitely a bit of that (but definitely not as misogynistic as Jim Butcher). Trigger warnings all over the place; this is B-movie horror in book form.
For Distortion fans: The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. Bears almost no resemblance to the Netflix series of the same name, or any of the movies based on it; this is a twisty psychological novel with a profoundly unreliable narrator and a lot of repressed queerness. Michael/Helen would be right at home in Hill House. (Content warning for suicidality.)
If you want your horror to make you cry: El Orfanado, directed by Guillermo del Toro; a family moves into a house that used to be an orphanage, that is, of course, haunted. This is a tremendous distillation of the way that horror movies are so often centered around women not being believed, so content warning for gaslighting (and for harm to children); I saw this movie once and entire scenes are embedded in my brain in full color. (Honestly you can't go wrong with any Guillermo del Toro movies; he's fantastic.)
If you want your horror to make you cry, but make it gay: In the Flesh, two seasons of a zombie TV show tragically cut short (yes, it ends on a cliffhanger, I’m sorry). Uses zombies as a metaphor for homophobia, but also includes actual queer people. Content warning for small-town-typical homophobia and tragic gays. Please come yell with me about Simon Monroe, I love him so much.
For Slaughter fans: The Shining by Stephen King - look, look, I know. He's not great. He needs an editor. The movie is all kinds of fucked up. But this book is one of the most raw, personal horror stories I've ever read, and it's got an excellent combination of supernatural influence and real-life mundane fear of addiction and personal weakness that really grabs you by the intestines. Again, an iffy ending, but it's worth it for the slow descent into paranoia and madness.
If you just want to try to find some authors to read: The Borderlands anthology series, paperbacks from the height of the 80s horror boom; there are so many different kinds of stories in here that I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't like some of them but you might well find something new to fall in love with. A lot of these writers are out of print but readily available at used bookstores or for pennies on Amazon.
As always, let me know if you liked any of these or if you have a specific need: it is no longer my job to recommend books and media to people but it is still my very favorite thing to do and I will be obnoxious about it forever

Nanami Kento x Reader
Warnings: sfw. pregnancy mention, death mention, minor injury mention. mild angst. jjk manga spoilers/shibuya arc spoilers
Summary: some pregnancy fluff with nanami
Word Count: 2.2k
jjk masterlist
Greys dot at his temples, and the sides of his beard. There's a permanent line between his eyebrows from scowling. Nanami always kept his face shaved in the past. Nowadays he hardly bothers shaving. You like it when he has a little bit of scruff, and he's often too tired to shave. His cheeks are far more gaunt. He lost a considerable amount of weight he never really gained back. You’ve been trying to get him to eat more. And it's working, but recovery isn't a short process. It was a long road that sometimes it feels like you take one step forward, only to take ten back.
He finds himself questioning if he'd rather wear a glass eye, or an eyepatch.
Nanami hardly sees the point in either. So the answer is neither. He rarely leaves his house, save for the rare times you drag him along to the grocery store, or down the street to the bakery. Even then, he wears his hat low on his head, keeping his eyes on the ground in a feeble attempt to make himself as small as possible.
Shibuya left scars on everyone who had the misfortune of being there, ones that never quite healed right. You were the same person; torn apart and put back together wrong. Age has not been kind to you, your wounds taking longer to heal, an ever-present ache in your bones. Past injuries have never quite healed, only laying dormant, waiting for the weather to sour so they can ache. He guesses he can consider himself lucky. He's alive. That's more than a lot of people can say.
But sometimes he thinks the real lucky ones were those who didn't survive.
Sometimes he thinks he's dead. In the twilight between sleep and his waking moments, he wonders if he actually made it. He wonders if he really survived, or if this is just some last ditch attempt by his brain to make sense of things.
He doesn't understand why you stay. He finds himself wondering why he bothers. Most days he doesn't see a point in continuing. But he doesn't want to leave you alone, reaching out to the empty space where he used to be.
For a long time he struggled to find purpose to all this. He wanted a reason, or at the very least answers. But he never would get them. It's unfair to say there’s an order to the universe. There's no reason why things happen the way they happen, they just do.
In the end he came to terms with it.
He remembers the glint in your eyes. A mischievous look- you were always trying to cause trouble. It's never really left. You were younger than him. Not by much. Two years. You were adamant he recommended you to become a grade one sorcerer. For months you pestered him, hounding him for that recommendation. As a Jujutsu High first-year, you looked up to him. When you got into trouble, you found yourself asking 'what would Nanami do?' And as time went on, you still did.
After months of pestering he eventually caved. You're nothing if not persistent. It was a little alarming at the time, and equally as irritating. But when you were finally a grade one sorcerer, he was there alongside you to celebrate.
At first glance, you two were far from compatible. The two of you couldn't be any more different. He was stoic and stern, and you were a known troublemaker. Your cursed technique worked well with his, and as a result, you went on many jobs together. As time went on you grew close.
And after years of working together, he finally realized he wanted more.
To everyone around you, your feelings were obvious. The two of you were hopeless. Between your stubbornness, and Nanami’s refusal to believe Gojo, neither of you wanted to be the first to confess. It was up to Gojo to help. Neither of you asked for his help, he took it upon himself. Little did he know, Nanami had a confession planned.
Nanami never got to have a proper confession. Gojo would spoil the surprise. Nanami was pissed, but your reaction was worth it. He doesn't think he’s ever seen you that happy.
Slowly things got better. Your more visible wounds healed and scarred. You went back to work. Nanami settled into domestic life better than he thought he would.
The transition wasn't the easiest. Settling down was far from an instantaneous change. He took on work around the house. For a short time you kept a ‘normal’ job. Even when you were younger, such work never suited you. Between the money you had saved up from your years as a sorcerer, and the money you got from odd jobs, you had enough to live comfortably. There was no need to work.
Slowly he started to look forward to getting up in the morning. Having a routine helped. It gave him a sense of normalcy.
He often finds himself unable to sleep. Nanami falls asleep late in the afternoon, and sleeps until either his phone, or a nightmare rouses him.
Today it's neither. He was a light sleeper before. Now even more-so. When he’s next to you, sleep comes to him easier. His arms find the swell of your belly, wrapping around it protectively. Your presence is a reminder that you’re still around, that you're not going anywhere. His shoulder aches. He finds sleep impossible. He’s too sore to move, but too sore to sleep. Even before everything, he found it easy to sleep on his couch, and hard to sleep in bed. You’d constantly pester him that sleeping on the couch wasn't good for his back. But that wouldn't stop you from staying there until you both inevitably fell asleep, and he carried you to bed.
It took you years to convince him to have one. He wanted to settle down and have children, but he couldn't be both a sorcerer and a parent. And neither could you. Shibuya only set things back. The world had to heal first. Things had to get better. The two of you had to heal before others could rely on you.
You weren't actively trying, but if it happened, it happened.
You've long since fallen asleep in the crook of his neck. He hardly left bed all day. Things were getting bad again. Sometimes months would go by where it seemed things were improving, only for them to take a nosedive. He’s still getting better, but recovery isn't a linear process. You didn't have anywhere to go that day, so you stayed right by his side. You took it upon yourself to make him feel better. Or at least bother him until he got out of bed. Much of your morning was spent watching movies on your phone, and stealing blankets from each other.
Retirement was nice. Granted, you retired rather young, but if the rest of your life was spent with him, you’d be content. He’s still the same man you fell in love with all those years ago. Aside from the occasional, safe-ish odd job, you were done with sorcery. Those days were past you.
He’s grown tired of staying still. Sometimes moving helps the aches. He never was the earliest riser before, but now he can hardly stay in bed past seven. Everything hurts. No matter when he goes to sleep, he’s usually up by 7:30, and you can count on him making coffee in the kitchen.
It's hardly past nine. The sun has completely set over the horizon. Stiffness has set into his limbs. He takes great care to not disturb your sleeping form, tucking the blankets back around you.
You nuzzle into the warm spot where he once was, a frown burned into your face. You never liked sleeping without him. Nightmares struck you frequently. Often you'd wake up from a dead sleep in a panic, calling out for him, convinced that this was some sick dream and he died years ago. He’d often wake up to you clinging to his arm, face buried in his shirt.
But he was always there.
You find it easier to fall asleep when it's light out. You don't like falling asleep in the dark. He makes sure to keep a light on in the hall. The power bill you could care less about. Nightmares came to you in the dark. Your logic is that, if there's no dark, you won't have them. To some extent it works.
It's a bit late for dinner, but he finds himself in the kitchen anyway. He wants udon, but the shop you normally go to would be closed at this hour. Their mushroom udon is the best. He’ll try to recreate it.
He sets some water on to boil, along with some frozen gyoza to thaw that you always insist on going to this one specific market in Tokyo for. Chicken and leek, with lots of ginger. Your favorite. You go through so much of the stuff that you have to get it in bulk, and freeze the extras. He thinks you’ll want tea too, so he sets the kettle on to boil.
He doesn't hear you walk in. Between the clanking of pots, and the whistling of the kettle, your soft footsteps go unheard. Nanami’s hearing was never quite the same. But he senses eyes on his back, and turns.
“I didn't mean to wake you, love.” He says.
“You didn't. I was having a hard time staying asleep anyway,” you say, “what’re you making?”
“Mushroom udon and gyoza,” he says, “it’s gonna be kind of a late dinner, but I thought it sounded good.”
“Smells good,” you say.
One of his hands finds your much smaller ones. Your fingers lace with his. His hands are warm, and calloused from years of using his weapon.
“Remind me to get more tea when I head into town tomorrow,” you say, “oh- and rice too. We were getting low the last time I checked. Do you want to go too?”
He nods. He makes a silent note to add those, along with laundry soap to the shopping list.
Before, he hated going into town. Strangers poked and prodded, and asked about his scars. It's gotten better as time goes on. If cravings struck you in the middle of the night, he would be up and ready to bring you something. Craving the mochi only sold by a specific shop in Tokyo? It doesn't matter if he had to take the train all the way to the city, he’d do it. Your arms wrap around his waist from behind. He’s a bit too tall for you to rest your head on his shoulder from behind. You have to stand on the tips of your toes to press a kiss to his cheek. He smells faintly of laundry soap, and shampoo. His stubble brushes against your lips. You always liked when he grew it out.
He pulls you so you stand in front of him, your back against his chest. His hands find the swell of your belly, wrapping around you protectively. Nanami plants a kiss on the top of your head. It's one of the few moments you feel truly normal. You’re no longer sorcerers, but a couple sharing a romantic moment, one building a life together.
He’s hardly allowed any distance between you two. Nanami acts like you’re made out of glass. He’s almost afraid to touch you. God forbid you try to lift something too heavy, or help out with the housework. He’s on you in an instant, trying to get you to rest. He’s a bit overbearing when it comes to things that aren't good for the baby. No alcohol, no caffeine, no overexerting yourself. You didn't miss alcohol all that much, but you really miss coffee. At times his presence can be suffocating. He means well, even if it gets on your nerves.
When the noodles are done, he gathers two bowls- part of a set given to you as a wedding gift. You only brought them out to use when your parents would visit. Much of the time they spent gathering dust. You always talked about using them more, but never got the opportunity to. He figures now is as good a time as ever. You set the table, setting out a few candles. He’d break out a bottle of sake if you could drink, but you just settle for tea.
"Retirement looks good on you," you say.
“It looks good on you too,” he says.
Conversation carries on while you eat. The topic falls onto mundane things that make his heart flutter only when you talk about them. You make plans to go shopping in the morning. You need groceries, and there’s a new shop opening up in town that you want to check out. When you’re done eating, you help him clean up. You clear the table while he gets the dishes.
He’s finally found his place. Not in jujutsu or human society. Not among sorcerers or regular people. His place is beside you.
And each day, he finds himself falling more hopelessly in love.

Visually interesting anime
Hey folks, as promised, here’s a list of anime recommendations. For this list, I am sticking to the following criteria: must be Japanese animation, must be something I have seen, and most importantly, must have something about it’s visuals that stands out from the crowd. This is not a rating list, and I will not be giving my personal opinion of the films presented here. Instead, I am will be listing for each:
Title
Short plot summary: what’s it about?
Visuals
Is it kid-friendly?
Are there any content warnings?
This post will be linked and updated with future discoveries I might make, so feel free to come back to it now and then! Make sure to read until the end for a list of upcoming additions to this list.
Mononoke (short series)
An horror story anthology comprised of several unrelated stories, each spanning 2-3 episodes. Our unnamed protagonist arrives in the middle of a tense situation, reveals the haunting of the place by a vengeful spirit and little by little, questions the people present out of revealing the details on just what happened to make the spirit seek revenge in order to kill it. The more the episodes go, the deeper and darker the secrets that come out.
The series has a sort of “prequel episode” part of another series, which was basically a test run for it, and that I will include in this review.
Visuals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mononoke’s art style is stylistic, cold and extremely colorful. While the character designs themselves are not heavily stylized, the world is. The backgrounds are partially made in 3D and give an offputting, dreamlike feeling. The series basks in jewel tones and traditional patternwork. To add to the eeriness, some odd choices are made during the episodes: some background characters with no lines are represented as faceless mannequins, the snow falls in perfect squares and is shaped like flowers, and scenes are cut with a shutting door interrupting the action.
The animation itself is great. It’s animated better than most TV series, but not as detailed as a feature film would be. Combat is basically inexistent, and the budget shots are spent instead on visions of the strange beings that haunt the series or demonstrations of the main character’s powers.
Is it kid friendly?
No.
Are there any content warnings?
Yes, and a lot. Mononoke is a series who’s stories revolve around horrific things human beings have done to each other. Violence, abuse and rape show up a lot. The first episode also contains a character design that is a distasteful antiblack caricature.
The little prince and the eight headed dragon (feature film)

Whole movie (english dub) available on YouTube
This animated movie from the 60s has an iconic stylized art style that hoists it as inspiration for many animators. It is criminally unknown outsides of animation circles.
Prince Susano is feisty little god who lives in a village with his parents. One day, his mom goes away, and overtaken by anger and grief, he decides to go and find her himself since everyone else it too busy telling him he can’t go where she went. He journeys across several worlds, meeting the gods who rule them and generally causing a whole lot of mayhem, before encountering a desolate land, terrorized by the titular dragon Orochi.
Visuals
An animated picture book, perfectly fitting with the myth/fairy tale nature of the story. Flat colors, a hand painted feel inspired by traditional artwork and mid century style, and most importantly, extremely stylized character designs, playing with shape and color. The animation is gorgeous. While a bit aged, it’s up there in terms of what you can achieve on paper, without computer previews, and with such stylized designs. Just look at the main character!
Tumblr media
Is it kid friendly?
Absolutely!
Content warnings?
None.
MindGame (feature film)
A young man, embarrassed at how lame his brief existence was after an unexpected death age 20, cringes himself back to life to stick the finger up at God by living to the most insane fullest he can live. This is a movie best seen blind, so I will not say more. A film about enjoying your time on earth despite how bad the situation is.
Visuals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Screenshots sourced from a review
Creative and colorful, with choppy, simple designs and detailed animation. Some sequences are animated using a mix of drawings and paper cut style photos/real footage of the actors. The drawn sequences get insanely strange, putting wild action in unexpected places. It’s a movie that has NO limits on how exaggerated it gets and actively tries to break the ceiling of what can be animated - and to what degree. Applied to a story who’s mostly slice of life, the result is magnificent.
The argument of “hand drawn animation is good to express feelings you will never be able to depict in any other way than with drawings” is perfectly illustrated by MindGame. It’s the most animated movie you will ever see.
Is it kid friendly?
No.
Content warnings?
At the beginning of the film is sexual assault scene that could be very distressing to watch. Several scenes have vivid, flashing lights that might trigger seizures.
Puparia (independent short)
A young woman sits next to an unknown animal, it’s tendrils waving in the air. Alone in an ornate, silent room, a man turns around to look you in the eye, his pupil red and blue. Gazed at by a silent, emotionless crowd, a child with colorful, striped skin looks at the horizon with a smile.
Animated by a single artist and fully improvised, drawn using traditional media in purposefully unproductive ways, Puparia is a technical achievement born out of bittersweet reactions against the inner workings of Japan’s unrelenting animation industry. A film better enjoyed accompanied by it’s making-of documentary.

Making-of
Puparia was drawn on paper using colored and graphite pencils on paper, animated the traditional way and composited digitally. Its scenes are detailed and mysterious, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer. The characters are drawn with slightly stylized faces and realistic bodies, and their acting is lifelike.
Is it kid friendly?
Yes.
Content warnings?
Bugs...? Unreality maybe. Nothing outside of that.
Night is short, walk on girl! (feature film)
The absolute journey two teenagers live during one wild very drunk night out in town. One of them is a friendly, curious girl with a seemingly endless alcohol tolerance, and the other a boy from her school madly in love with her, fighting his inner teenage demons and a bunch of plot adventures to try to ask her out. As the night goes on and the drinks pile up, the folks they encounter turn into great big parade of strange situations. It feels like a dream filled to the brim with energy and pure fun.

Like the aforementioned Mindgame, Night is short goes for a “simpler” art style at first glance and puts everything in how it moves. The art style itself is colorful and fun, and instead of representing what’s going on, the movie animates using what the characters are feeling, from hilariously dramatized sequences to dreamlike exaggeration. The weirder sequences are the most impressive, but the quieter moments of the film still shine with expressive, fun characters and an attention to acting.
Is it kid friendly?
As much as a movie about getting smashed is. Nothing is shocking but I would probably not show it to children.
Content warnings?
Not friendly for photosensitive folks, beware of some rapid/flashing stuff. There is a brief scene where an adult man tries to take advantage of the protagonist and gets told off very fast.
Tekkonkinkreet (feature film)
Two street kids living in the middle of a conflict around the destruction of the old neighborhood they call home, fated to be torn down to make place for an amusement park. One seemingly never grew up, and spends most of his days playing, caught in an imaginary world. The other takes on the role of an older brother, on a self appointed mission to protect his friend from harm, while wrestling with his own inner demons of violence and fear.
Visuals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Screenshots cherry picked from this collection (slight spoiler warning)
The setting of this film is a grandiose busy mess. The backgrounds do a wonderful job at showing the town in all it’s glory, both quaint and threatening, bustling with life but cobbled together behind rusting metal and peeling paint. The level of detail is insane, both in design and execution, with everything looking not only lived in but decorated at every inch, and painted in great detail, sometimes even rendered in a 3D space to allow the camera to travel insides narrow corridors and around small streets.
The character art is quite distinctive for an anime, being blocky and simple with polished character designs, but the way they move is the crown jewel. The body language is crazy detailed, even during dialog and combat.
Is it kid friendly?
Yes and no. I would not recommend it to young children as there is some pretty raw violence and adult themes. But I’ve seen people say they grew up on it and loved it, as young as 8. If you want to watch it with a child, I’d recommend watching it by yourself first and making that decision.
Content warnings?
Violence, and some including the kid protagonists.
Redline (feature film)
An elite, illegal inter-planetary car race where everything is fair game. We follow Sweet JP, a corny idealist with a talent for crashing his machines, as he joins a colorful cast of racers in the competition. Redline has little in the name of plot development, and instead goes for throwing you into instant action, playing with its cast and crazy racing scenes. An admittedly very stupid movie that goes straight for the dopamine centers of your brain.
A great part of the movie is shot like a TV broadcast of the event, complete with advertising and a host commentary which is delightful. I recommend watching the English dub, as the actors are great and the speed of the line delivery just doesn’t hit as well with subtitles.
Visuals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strong lineart with marked, solid black shadows and a few bright colors remind me of the art of 70s comics. While the art style and character/vehicle/set designs are great, what sets Redline apart is it’s animation. Asides of a few shots with CG particle effects you can count on one hand, Redline’s animation is entirely hand-drawn, including the vehicles and backgrounds. The animation is strong, nervous and perfectly paced to evoke the thrill of the race. It gladly exaggerates when needed, most spectacularly with a few iconic shots where perspective and depth of field are animated to convey passion and speed.
For a neophyte, Redline is a visual treat - and for someone interested in the technical aspects of animation, it’s a masterpiece.
Is it kid friendly?
There’s a few instances of onscreen titties, drugs and some swearing. If you are very opposed to that, avoid, but I’d deem it fine to show children who are not too young.
Content warnings?
Nothing comes to mind.
Conclusion - OP’s watchlist
Thank you for reading this post! If you are interested in these movies, I strongly suggest buying them. While some are available online for free or easy to pirate, they are works of art well worth the few bucks for a full quality copy.
I’m always on the lookout for new things to watch. Feel free to contact me with suggestions for shows I might have missed. While this list is only for japanese productions, anything is welcome :)! Back on theme, here is a short list of shows, shorts and movies I have yet to watch which will likely make it on here:
Kaiba
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Dead Leaves

TELLING THE BNHA BOYS YOU WANT TO SIT ON THEIR FACE | hcs + drabble
Tumblr media
navi | masterlist | taglist
thank you to anon for this request <3
characters ♡ kaminari, bakugo, sero & tamaki
content warning ♡ sexual references, fem!reader, all aged up! - minors dni
Tumblr media Tumblr media
denki kaminari
♡ it depends how confidently you say it
♡ if you’re clearly embarrassed, he’ll be too
♡ but if you own your statement, it’ll prompt him to be more self-assured and forward
♡ so he’ll either by completely red in the face and tell you to stop messing with him, or his lips will curl into a suggestive smirk as he encourages to act on your claim
♡ also if you’re not really the type of person who talks about sexual acts too often or casually, he’ll pop a hard-on
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
he was lazily sprawled out across the two-seated couch, his legs lay were you were going to sit and it took every bone in your body to resist the urge to just yank his legs away yourself, since you had been training all day so your legs were in agony, all you wanted to do was sit down and relax. but he prevented you from doing that, so you finally spoke up, “denki, could you move your legs, please?”
kaminari looked up from his phone to see you pouting, bags in hand as you waited for him to let you take a seat. he was feeling especially mischievous today so instead of just retracting his legs like he usually would, he shrugged and hummed, “eh, no. the floor looks comfy though. maybe try that.”
you scoffed, dropping your bags and hastily wrapping your hands around his ankles before aggressively tugging on them, “move it! you’re stupid fucking face looks comfy!”
he froze, staring at you with wide eyes but you continued to pull at his legs as you had yet to process what you just said as you meant in more as trash-talk rather in a sexual way.
suddenly, he flipped his position so he way now laying down on his back, his head resting on the seat you were trying to obtain as he stared up at you with starry eyes, “sit, then!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
katsuki bakugo
♡ goes red in embarrassment, anger and horny
♡ at first he yells about how immature you are but then his mindless threats begin to turn more..erotic?
♡ he’s like ‘fucking do it then! sit on my face! i fucking dare you! don’t be a pussy! do it!’
♡ and you kinda just stand there like ??? is he being serious ???
♡ he was being dead serious
♡ he can’t have anyone knowing that he wants you but he does want you so he shows it through anger and hopes that you are aroused rather than frightened
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
you walked into the theatre by bakugo’s side, not as his date or anything - definitely not - but because he had ‘accidentally’ bought an extra ticket for a movie that you had been talking to your co-workers at the agency about and now that you thought about it, you recalled that bakugo was in ear-shot of the conversation while he was making his coffee in the lounge.
anyway, the movie had yet to begin but most who were seated remained silent as they watched the trailers. he glanced at you before shifting his gaze onto all the rows of seats in front of y’all, “where do ya want to sit?” he mumbled, casually popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth.
he simply asked just in case you had a preferred location or an eye-sight problem that he was unaware of so you almost made him choke on his corn when you replied with a click of your tongue, “your face.”
once he coughed up the kernel lodged in this esophagus, he turned to shoot you a deadly glare, “what the fuck?!”
afraid that you might have made him uncomfortable, you threw you hands up in defence and hastily tried to change the subject before he created a scene in the middle of the silent theatre, “sorry! i just meant it as a joke- erm, sitting at the back would be nic--”
before you could finish, bakugo grabbed you by the collar and dragged you out of the room, towards the cinema bathroom and..you know what happens next.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hanta sero
♡ probably incited you to say it lol
♡ he’s like ‘aight bet’
♡ you should know better than to try tease this man bc he is going to make you follow up
♡ not forcefully, but he becomes so racy that it’s hard for you to not just..take a seat :)
♡ he doesn’t get flustered bc he’s too cool for that (⌐■_■)
♡ also he’s horny asf all the time so even if he’s literally never talked to you before, he’ll immediately be escorting you to an area where y’all can be in private
♡ after he’s made you cum for like the fifth time he’ll be like ‘so what’s your name? :)’
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
friendly banter was something you should’ve learned to avoid. from when bakugo chased you around the school after you made a comment about deku being number one, to when iida gave you a 20 minute lecture when he heard you joke about skipping class - jesting with your friends never ended well for you so why did you think today was any exception?
though those things were in past, you had moved on; you had gotten a fresh new job at a new agency along with an old classmate of yours who you’ve since gotten closer to - pro-hero cellophane.
you were casually chatting to him in the break-room, making friendly conversation with him as you had deduced that your bad luck with banter was exact that, bad luck - hardly anything that can’t be avoided, or so you thought.
“exactly!” sero nodded, agreeing with the comment you made on internships, “my mentor kept making me go on these elaborate missions with them but seriously, i was just there to get a recommendation letter, save some people, have a hot hero-girl sit on my face then dip, y’know?”
you chuckled, prompting him to continue, “well, did it work?”
“i got my recommendation letter but unfortunately, no hot hero-girls sat on my face.” he explained, he taking a sip of his coffee before eyeing you, his frown slowly curling into a titillating smirk, “you could change that, though.”
your eyes widened, but you were somewhat mentally prepared for him to say that so you were quick to blurt out, “yes please.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tamaki amajiki
♡ he doesn’t get what you mean at first-
♡ like he thought it was a threat..or maybe you were making fun of him
♡ you, mirio or nejire have to explain to him what it means
♡ then he passes away ⚰
♡ like mans is blushing so hard
♡ he can’t look you in the eye for 3 months after that
♡ it’s not that you made him uncomfortable or anything, he just gets like that around the subject of intercourse
♡ if he ever starts talking to you again, you know better than to ever make a dirty joke around him again
♡ but when y’all start dating - maybe a year into the relationship - he’ll randomly turn to you one day and be like ‘remember that joke you made over a year ago about sitting on my face? yeah, that one. do you think you could maybe like..do it? like right now, please? 👉👈’
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
you sat on the bed beside tamaki, absentmindedly scrolling through your phone as he played animal crossing next to you, on his switch. you were looking through pinterest for date ideas as your one year anniversary with tamaki was fast approaching and you wanted it to be special.
you opened a picture of a couple at the arcade, looking as though they were having a fun time so your natural instinct was to ask tamaki i he was down, “baby, what do you think about the arca--”
“(y/n).” he interjected with a shakily, “um, remember that time we partnered up for a chemistry project?”
you giggled, no clue as to where he was going with this but humming along, none the less, “yep, i do! that was a while ago though, tama.”
amajiki nodded, awkwardly averting his gaze, his cheeks visibly flushing red as he recalled the events that happened - he couldn’t believe he was bringing this up again, after he tried for so long suppress the memory. but currently, his need to hear your sweet moans overwhelmed his shyness, “do you remember the joke you made?”
you hummed in thought for a moment before it hit you. you peered at his with an eyebrow quirked, mentally questioning if you were remembering it correctly. “um, yes.”
“well, can you?”
“can i what?”
tamaki frowned, before leaning in and whispering his scandalous request - he didn’t want to say this aloud but desperate times call for desperate measures. “sit on my face.”

I love your art! Do you have any favorite movies/books about haunted houses?
aw thank you so much!!! and YES i absolutely do! here's a couple of my all time faves:
the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson (book) — my favorite book of all time honestly. THE haunted house book. follows a young woman named eleanor who participates in a paranormal investigation of a haunted house in the wake of her mother's death. the opening page to it is so incredibly iconic, and since it's a pretty old book (written in 1959) you can find pdfs of it easily online!
(the netflix show of the same name is also pretty good, but not a direct adaptation of the book in any way, and i think it loses a lot of what makes the book so incredible. it does play really directly with the relationship between trauma/ptsd and hauntings in a way i really like, though! i'd say watch it after reading the book, if you want to watch it.)
control, anatomy, and the legacy of the haunted house by jacob geller (video essay) — not really a movie but i've watched it probably at least two dozen times. seriously, go watch it, it's only 20 minutes long and changed my life, no joke. (geller's other stuff is also great; i recommend fear of depths and 4 short games about pain for more along these lines!) in it he discusses anatomy (a game by kitty horrorshow), haunting of hill house, house of leaves, and control, and all of those are absolutely recommendations in their own right, too!
crimson peak, dir. guillermo del toro (movie) — gothic romance! a woman moves into an old mansion with her new husband and his sister, and everything around her is very sinister. has the absolute best set design & costume design of any movie i've ever seen, and i highly recommend looking up what costume designer kate hawley has said about her work on the film — specifically, she made the costumes echo the architecture of the house in a way that i think is fascinating. (content warning for inc*st because some of the plot is, uh. questionable at best. but the movie overall is gorgeous.)
in the dream house by carmen maria machado (book) — this one isn't a haunted house in a literal sense, mostly. content warning for abuse; this memoir follows machado in her time living in a house with an abusive partner, as viewed through various tropes; dream house as haunted mansion being the chapter that's perhaps the most directly relevant here (and the way machado writes about hauntings is just *chefs kiss*) but the whole book is incredible and totally worth reading.
ghostland by colin dickey (book) — a nonfiction book! dickey goes at hauntings from a really interesting angle of examining the why behind them. what makes people in a specific city tell the ghost stories they do? what about the history of a place shapes the haunted houses that are talked about there?
i desperately need to watch more haunted house movies, so please feel free to send me any recommendations! i'm shamefully not very well versed in horror movies yet haha. i hope you enjoy these though, and please feel free to come back and tell me what you think!!

Mmm, nice blog you have here. So, just a thought of mine. Yandere hawks and his lover go out, after months of good behaviour that finally paid off. Day goes great until someone turns it into chaos. Reader gets taken home and any privilege like this gets "restricted". Reader is just done with the world getting in the way and simply, how do I put it, become kind of depressed. Could it tempt you to a fic?
You can change the plot / characters if you like, it's just a thought.
Anyway thanks for the attention, and go forth with your blog. It's difficult to find content like yours, especially good ones like this
Thank you for both the compliments and the requests! I had such a fun time writing this!
Hope you enjoy it!
Yandere! Hawks x Male!Reader
Warnings :
Past Kidnapping , gets a little sad but IDK if you can call it angst for a single scene, victim-blaming , Typical Yandere shit
Let me know if I missed any warnings!

Restricted (Pt 1?)
The devil works hard but Hawks works harder.
It didn’t take long for y/n to figure out that there was only one way to get what he wanted, no matter how small. He had to play Hawks' little game.
If that meant wearing his little outfits with their matching collars just to be allowed a pen, then so be it.
Y/n wanted to say he had been gone seven months now, but he couldn’t be sure. It had to have been at least six since his good behavior had earned him access to the rest of the house. And it had taken four more since then to convince Hawks, now Keigo, to let him use sharp objects. You know, like a pencil. So maybe it had been ten? The point is, y/n hadn’t seen the outside world in a long time. Well no. He /has/ seen it. Only he’s seen it from the top floor of one of the tallest buildings in Japan.
The view isn’t much different now. Wrapped tight in Keigo’s arms, he finally got to be in the world again.
“You should see your face birdy, makes me wish I had brought you out sooner!” His captor watched him with stary eyes as they soared through the sky to their destination.
The wind snapped at y/n's face, but that didn't make this moment any less magical. Y/n had worked his ass off for this, and he was going to enjoy it! The cherry on top was that y/n had gotten to pick the location himself! Well, sort of.
It was a small town by the coast. Nothing too special to the average person. But the average person wasn’t locked inside for who knows how long. Y/n had pointed it out in a movie they were watching a few months back. Keigo was quick to figure out where exactly had caught his darling’s attention. Turns out the movie had taken place not far from Keigo’s place.
Y/n had begged, genuinely begged, for Keigo to take him there. As a treat. As a vacation. As a date. Whatever it took for y/n to finally be able to get out of the house.
Keigo had said he would think about it.
From that point, y/n was on his best behavior. He’d wait by the door for Keigo to return and would help take care of him when he got back. He would help make dinner which now consisted of all of Keigo’s favorites. Y/n rushed to do things before his winged lover even had the chance to ask. If Keigo did ask for anything, the task was done instantly and without question.
Keigo loved seeing his sweet baby boy so eager to please him. And to be honest, he did feel a little bad about locking up his darling for so long. A little. Maybe he could stall for a little longer. See if he could get his baby bird to beg again. See if he could see that desperate look and that adorable little pout.
But if going out on a date, a real date, would make his birdy happy, who was he to deny it.
“You are going it love it, y/n! I just know it!”
Keigo and y/n had spent the last week looking at different things to do on the coast. There were plenty of tourist attractions and even some well recommended local favorites. Places that would be overflowing with people. Places they could blend in. Places where someone could easily steal Keigo's darling away from him. Places that were out of the question.
In the end, they settled on a small family-owned restaurant. The place was small but it had great reviews and was close to a private beach. One that Keigo had rented for the day.
The restaurant was even more charming in person than it was online. A stunning handpainted blue exterior made for a picture-perfect seaside restaurant. Something straight out of a movie. The chime of the golden bell on the door echoed through the restaurant as they walked in, breaking the trance. Y/n felt like all eyes were on them. Sure there weren't that many people there, but that didn't change things.
“Reservation for Takami?”
Keigo instructed y/n several times before they had even left the house not to talk to anyone. Not the restaurant staff. Not people on the street.
No one except him.
As the hostess led the duo further into the restaurant, y/n recognized a group of familiar faces.
No.
No, he didn't, it was all just a trick of the light.
Y/n worked so fucking hard for this. Worked so hard for his moment. For a chance at a normal life. A normal day. That's all he wanted. Five fucking seconds of normal. But they had to be here. Of all places. Here.
They couldn't be here.
They weren't here.
But they were.
Y/n knew this, but it was all so unfair.
He pulled on Keigo’s shirt trying to get the hero’s attention, but it was too late.
“Y/N!”
They had seen him.
“Y/n you’re alive?” The group had thrown themselves at the young man the minute they saw him, trapping Y/n in a suffocating hug, “We thought- oh my god we were sure you were dead- the cops- they had told us-”
“Dad? Mom- fuck.” Y/n’s vision became blurry as he struggled to stop the hot tears already streaming down his face. "I- I don't- No. I can't-"
Y/n shoved his family away from both himself and Keigo as fast as he could. He felt the hero’s glare burning a hole into his very soul. He had one rule. Talk to no one. And he had broken it. Not only that, but he let someone else touch him. Let them hug him. And worst of all, he had hugged them back.
“It was you?” Y/n’s family was quick to turn their attention to the man with their son. “You were the one who found him?”
One of Keigo’s large wings wrapped around y/n and pulled him close. The usually comforting motion sent chill's down y/n's spine. “The one and only, unfortunately, we were just leaving. So if you don’t mind.”
Keigo dragged y/n out of the restaurant despite his family’s protests. The hero, holding on deathly close to his darling, took to the skies.
Y/n sobbed into Keigo’s chest the entire flight back to his apartment. And the entire flight Keigo stays completely silent. Y/n could feel his anger building by the minute, and it only made him cry more. Hot tears stained the hero’s jacket and burned into his cheeks. He had worked so hard for this moment. For a single day of monitored freedom. Yet it was all ruined. Even if Keigo would never say it, y/n knew he would never be allowed outside again.
“You planned this,” Keigo harshly dropped y/n onto the roof as soon as it was in reach. “You knew they were going to be there. And you tricked me.”
“I trusted you,” Keigo’s laugh was absent of joy, “I fucking trusted you.”
“Keigo please, I didn’t know! I couldn’t have known! Please Kei!” Y/n crawled closer, reaching out to the hero, but Keigo kicked him away.
“Oh, don’t start with your bullshit. We both know damn well what happened.” Keigo grabbed y/n’s face, forcing him to look into his golden eyes. “Even if you didn’t know, you let them talk to you. You let them touch-”
“Kei, no! They grabbed me you saw it!” Y/n sobbed, trying to get out of Keigo’s grip, “That was my family Keigo, what was I suppose to do-”
Red wings towered over y/n making him flinch, “You were supposed to stay with me.”
“But I-”
“I’m putting you back in your room.” A flurry of red feathers grabbed y/n and brought him high into the air. “This is your fault y/n, don’t fight me on this. I trusted you y/n. And now? I will keep you with me. Even if I have to give up my life, everything I’ve done, none of that matters.”
“You. Are. Mine”
Y/n froze, mouth agape. Keigo’s command fell on deaf ears. Not that it mattered. Even the tears building up in y/n’s eyes didn’t dare to fall. One pitiful window and a bed hardly big enough for him to lay on, it was hell. Keigo had kept him there for weeks training him to be the perfect pet. One that would come when its master beckoned. Y/n had only been able to get out because he was showing excellent progress. He doubts Keigo will show him such a luxury a second time around.
Y/n was painfully right.
Keigo wanted a pet, and a pet is what he will get.
I might make a part two for this if y’all are interested.

Finding high quality film/tv rips, saving the large files, and screencapping them are half the battle for gifmakers when setting out to make a gifset. Here’s a little guide on this process, including my advice on
Where to download stuff
Where to store your movies/shows
Screencapping programs
Making gifs as HQ as possible, including tips for picking out what to download when you have multiple options (not all 1080p rips of the same movie or tv episode are the same quality and I explain why)
Why screencaps of 4k movies can look weird and washed out and how to fix that
and more
✨ You can find my gifmaking 101 tutorial here and the rest of my tutorials here.
Where can I download movies and shows?
First off, I prefer direct downloading rather than torrenting stuff because it’s faster and with torrenting, there’s more of a risk. Other people downloading the same torrent can see your IP address. This means movie studios can find out you’re downloading their content and can send you a warning letter. The download speed also varies depending on how many other people are seeding it. I would only do it if it’s your only option and you have a VPN or something.
This is THE best guide for pirating I’ve ever seen. I use it for finding sites for books, music, you name it. The part of the guide you’d want to look at is where it says Direct Downloads Link (DDL) sites. My favorite place is Snahp. These ddl sites will have links to their movie/tv rips that are typically hosted on one of these two sites: google drive or mega.nz. You can download stuff from both of those sites for free, but with mega, they have a 5GB file download limit unless you have a premium account. I personally pay the $5 a month membership for mega because it’s worth it imo. You can buy a subscription through the mega app found on the iphone app store (so you’re billed through apple and it’s less scary than giving a random site your credit card info lmao) and as for androids I think mega has an app on there too.
So basically, if you go to http://snahp.it, they’ll have rips for different movies and shows.
Tumblr media
You click on the movie title and it’ll take you to a page where they have links for the video which they have uploaded on a variety of sites (including mega).

How do I make my gifs as HQ as possible?
It’s best to gif things that are 1080p. And usually the higher the file size, the better. A really important thing to note is that not all 1080p bluray rips are the same. The piracy groups that rip these files take uncompressed .mkv rips from discs that are anywhere from 10gb to like 50gb, and then run that through video converters to compress the file down so that they’re 2-8gb. Sometimes when that happens, the video quality goes down a LOT. The same goes for TV episodes. One rip could be 800mb, the other could be 3gb and both could claim to be “1080p” but the quality would be NOTICEABLY different. Your best bet is to always pick the rip with the highest file size.
I’ll show you an example with this scene from You’ve Got Mail.
Tumblr media
I downloaded 2 different 1080p rip versions of the film. Both claim to be 1080p, but one is 2.41 GB and the other is 9.75 GB. After taking screencaps, it’s obvious that there’s a BIG difference in quality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these pictures are best viewed on desktop tumblr)
When it comes to Blu-ray rips, download remux versions of films and shows if possible. Remux means .mkv files that are uncompressed and straight from a Blu-Ray disc. Giffing remux rips cuts down on the possibility of seeing pixel-y effects a LOT in my experience. It’ll take a bit longer to download than typical 1080p rips but it’s worth it imo.
For TV episodes, if you can’t find a Blu-Ray rip, uploads with the word AMZN in it are usually the highest quality and your best bet (unless you see another upload that’s higher in file size - again: always try to pick the highest file size). 'AMZN’ means they’re from a person that ripped the episode from Amazon Prime Video.
Also, even better than 1080p is 4k (2160p). I only really recommend this though if you know you’re going to gif something up close and crop it a lot - like if it’s a big 540x540px close-up gif of a person. You’ll REALLY see the difference if it’s a 1080p vs 4k rip in that situation. I usually don’t bother with giffing 4k files unless it’s the case above because my laptop lags when taking 4k screencaps and it takes longer to load them into photoshop (4k screencaps are usually about 60mb each!)
⭐️ Another thing that’s important is making sure that when you actually make your gifs, you set them to the correct speed (.05 for movies and most shows, and .04 sometimes for reality tv and live broadcasts). Here’s my gif speed guide. Having the right gif speed is really important for making a gifset HQ. You don’t want it to look too slow or too fast.
What’s your favorite video player to take screenshots with?
MPV player, hands down. And I’ve tried a TON of programs over the years. I’ve tried KMPlayer and found that it added duplicate frames (and even missing frames) which is horrible, and I’ve tried GomPlayer which is.....I’m just gonna say it, I’m not the biggest fan of it. It’s a little overly complicated in my opinion and it has ads. If you like these programs, more power to you! Use whatever you’re comfortable using. I just like MPV the most because it doesn’t have ads, it’s simple, you can take sequential screencaps with a keyboard shortcut, and it can play 4k movies.
Screencaps I take of 4k 2160p movies look so dull and washed out, like the colors aren’t right. Why is that?
That’s because your computer can’t handle HDR 4k video files. It probably can handle SDR 4k video files, but unfortunately, 99% of 4k rips out there are HDR.
Tumblr media
Now, HDR displays just fine on computers that have 4k-HDR capabilities, but most older computers don’t have this ability. Having said that, MPV - the video player I mentioned above can take a 4K-HDR video and fix the colors/lighting in real time so it displays correctly AND take screenshots of it with the fixed colors. If you have an older version of MPV, make sure you download the newest update for this. In my general gifmaking tutorial, there’s a portion on how to install this program on macs. I also just made a video tutorial on how to install it on pcs here!
High quality TV and Movie rips can take up a LOT of space on my computer. Where do you store your files?
I store them on external hard drives. External hard drives are like flash drives but they have a MUCH higher storage capacity. You just plug them into your computer via a usb cord when you need access to the files and it’s that easy. I have two of these Seagate 4TB hard drives in different colors so I can easily pick out whichever one I need. I have silver for my movies (because it makes me think of “silver screen” lmao and it’s easier for me to remember) and then I just have a blue for shows. Now, external hard drives of this size can be $$$$ but it’s worth it imo. Look out for when they’re on sale.
What’s the size limit for gifs now?
It’s 10mb! It used to be 3mb and then last year Tumblr upped it to 5mb. Some gifs initially had distortion because of Tumblr’s switch from the .gif to .gifv format, but they’ve fixed the problem AND increased the upload limit to 10mb.  Just make sure not to add any lossy to a gif.
Lossy is basically a grain you can add to a gif to lower the file size down. Gifmakers (including myself) used to use this as a trick to get the file size down under 3mb. However, since the .gifv update on Tumblr, any gifs with Lossy added will look distorted like it’s a gif made on a phone app or something.

That’s it for this guide! Again, feel free to check out my other tutorials on photoshop, how to center subtitles, download hq movie trailers, and more ✌️
UPDATE 6/23/20 ⚠️
I’ve gotten an ask about this problem 3 times since I’ve uploaded this tutorial, so I thought I’d add this in. If you are experiencing duplicate and/or missing frames in mpv, it is a glitch with the latest version of mpv. download an older version like 0.29.0. this happened to me on my mac and downloading an older version fixed the problem.
