I find it interesting that out of all the party, Laudna and Orym are following in Ashton's footsteps a bit in hiding things from the party (Orym with the Nana Morri deal, Laudna with her interacting with/talking to Delilah more and more), and I wonder how much of it is the residual impact that Bor'dor's betrayal had on them.

late night ramble time

i feel like mag 173 - night light is such an underrated episode. it supplies great world building because i spent the first half of s5 desperately needing to know what happened to the children. its a great answer due to how realistic it is and because they arent physically harmed. that latter part is so important to me, especially with episodes 171 and 178 (the mortal garden messed me up). like, im not saying that placing children in The Dark wouldnt have caused any damage (hell im an adult and still scared of the dark) but in the grand scheme of things? it feels like the most… merciful of outcomes. its the one that gives me the most hope for healing. children were likely already scared of the dark, im glad it was kept to that instead of introducing? them to more fears. i dont want to think about a child being placed in any other domain, seriously.

So about that episode....

Are we gonna talk about how Yosano remembers all the soldiers that died even 14 years later? Or how protective Tanizaki is of all the ADA members (told Yosano he'd take her place, yelled at Jouno for hurting Kenji, his whole thing with Naomi, his concern when Atsushi was kidnapped, yelling in absolute terror when Kunikida sacrificed himself)? Or how Ranpo and Yosano are actually THE friendship of all time? Or how Fukuzawa got so feral and enraged for her sake? Or how Yosano sees the agency as the place that actually wanted her even if it didn't need her? Or how she will do anything to protect it? Or how this entire season is just telling us what a family they are? And how her entire backstory is all about the value of life and how she held onto how valuable individual lives were despite everything about it (war, her ability, Mori) telling her to commodify humans lives? Or just how incredibly Yosano's kindness is portrayed, showing us that she can be kinda sadistic and sarcastic and terrifying but still be called kind? Or, or, or ....

I love that oda made kaido a sad whiny drunk and had luffy fight an unserious fight for a moment. genuinely made me laugh when kaido was crying over his destroyed castle that took five years to build and his son was hitting him and him asking to be left alone while swatting luffy away like a fly lol

omg ikr, wasn't that just bizarre? i was like "huh?!" 🤨 like i'm not saying they should start having kids this season cause even i think that's a bit of a far fetched plotline. but anyways i picture them with three kids. two whirlwind little girls, and a super sweet little mama's boy. i came up with a full name for their first daughter when i was writing my pregnancy fic (really lost the fuel to my fire for that though when i accidently deleted my previous main account a couple years ago, idk if i'll ever really get back to that one sadly 😔).

I was reading a one piece review on anime-planet which talked about how 'the recently concluded alabasta arc is phenomenal' (scrolled up to find that the review was from 2005). Now, before this the dude was talking about how gaara's 'sniveling flashbacks dragged naruto the show down' (umm okay flashbacks are notoriously overused in naruto but gaara's backstory and naruto connecting to it is literally one of the first tasters of the essence of naruto the show so i am already questioning this person's analysis). Then they go on to say that 'many, many people (including myself) would find it hard to like usopp' like boy byee!! USOPP??? you don't like usopp?? literally nothing you have to say is worth listening for me lmao
