Portrait spamming
Recent discovery. If you click on the portraits of the characters like crazy, they will react to it. And the developers had a lot of fun coding these reactions xD

Tav / Dark Urge
normal - I'm awake! Mostly. - I'm starting to get a headache. - Must be the tadpole. - Quit knocking around in there! - A thousand needlepricks in my rotten skull.
combat -Ahhhhhhhh! Okay, I feel better. - I have an itch in the worst place. - Is being a mind flayer so bad? - Just waiting to venture forth here. - I'm maiming as fast as I can!
stealth - What's that ticking? - Is it me? Am I ticking? - Bomb in my head about to go off. Great. - Ah, well. I had a good run.
Astarion
normal - Why do beautiful people taste better? It hardly seems fair on the ugly - they have such wonderful personalities. - Ugh. Strahd wouldn't put up with this shit. - More like Drizzt Don't'Urden - no. No that's not funny. - Villains! Dissemble no more, I admit the deed! Tear up the floor - here, here! It is the beating of his hideous hea- oh, no, that's his brain. Where did I leave that heart?
combat: - I'm trying to focus on murder. - *Humming.* - I shot a svirfneblin in Menzoberranzan just to watch him die. - I should've been a drow. They have such stylish armour.
stealth - Shhh. Just think sneaky thoughts. - Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP. - Be very, very quiet - I'm hunting idiots. - I've got a brand new torture chamber, so come and play with me.
Karlach
normal - NOTE TO ACTOR/DIRECTOR: Blow a raspberry at the player. - Don't. Poke. The Karlach. - Who am I? - My eye!
combat - Eyes on the prize - we need to win this! - Not every soldier should've made it out of training. - Eyes on victory, tummy on dinner. - I ought to just burn this whole thing down.
stealth - My back can't take much more of this. - Not now, I'm being a sneak! - I'm getting too old for this nonsense. - I'm not built to crouch.
Gale
normal - I hope Halaster takes good care of Tara while I'm away. - Sembian wine; Cormyrian boar; Waterdhavian conversation. It's the little things you miss while on the road. - Oh, what a tangled Weave we web! - All the world's my stage and you're just a player in it.
combat - Just go for the Magic Missile and fire away. Never fails. - Don't make me go all Edwin Odesseiron on you. - Get. Out. Of. My. Head. - I really wish I could cast a Hold spell on you.
stealth - You made me hide, don't make me come seek you. - Gods, it's like trying to sleep with a mosquito in the room. - A little privacy please. - Stop it - that tickles.
Wyll
normal - Could do for a brew. - Where there's a 'Wyll', there's a 'y'. - Ever get the sense that someone's watching? - So two halflings walk under a bar...
combat - Can't hear myself think! - Wear your scars proudly. - As my father once told me: 'Can we get on with it?' - I find moderation is key.
stealth - Bad time for an itch. - Could do for a brew. - So two halflings walk under a bar... - Shush. No, really. Shush.
Lae'zel
normal - Must everyone be so exhausting? - Weapons high. Standards higher. - Is perfection too much to ask? - Pride is a virtue.
combat - I will know my queen! - There is no right or wrong, only truth. - What is the point, if not victory? - You are right to fear me.
stealth - Hush already. - There is no wisdom in madness. - Is perfection too much to ask? - There is but one way. Vlaakith.
Shadowheart
all modes - I wonder how I'll feel when I remember everything. - Strange. I've had more freedom this past while than my whole life... - Have to keep focused. Can't afford to get attached - to anyone. - If I succeed, maybe I'll be allowed a pet... ugh, stop being silly.
Halsin / his voice is currently bugged :(
normal - What I would not give for a chunk of fresh honeycomb... - Such attention... I never realised I was so popular. - Are you feeling lonely, perhaps? - Unwise, perhaps, to poke a bear this much...
сombat - Battle is afoot - you can poke me once we are safe. - Perhaps try attacking the enemy? - Admirable stamina, yet terrible priorities. - You are insistent, are you not?
stealth - Most consider it unwise to poke a bear. - My, you are eager, are you not? - Please. I am trying to be stealthy. - Calm yourself. There is plenty of me to go around.
Jaheira
normal - Oh, calm down. I'm happy to see you too. - I would poke you back, but I fear that's what you want. - My, such strong wrists. - Well you certainly have the 'omnipresent' part down, don't you? - Please go poke the ranger instead.
combat - You have my attention - now do something with it. - What? What do you want!? - Do you know, I begin to wish they had never brought me back. - Yes, yes, have your fun. It isn't you they're trying to kill.
stealth - Dry those sweaty palms and let us try this again, shall we? - Argh, my knees! Oh. It was a twig. - Would that I could hide from you, too. - Careful, or I will take your toy away from you.
Minsc
normal - ARGH! My EYE, Boo! They went for my EYE! - Know that if you poke Boo, no higher dimension will keep you safe! - Heehee. Heeheeheehee. - Well, Boo? How do you want to do this?
сombat - Are you perchance a squeaky wheel in need of a kick? - I am armed! Armoured! And entirely sick of your foolishness. - I begin to grow annoyed. It is well for you that Boo does not let me learn the bad words! - Ignore them, Boo. Let them gaze deep into their own abyss, and wonder just what it is they are trying to achieve.
stealth - A little to the left? But not so hard you make me giggle. - Boo...? Are you dancing down there, or...? - Hush! I am surprising Boo for his birthday! He is... uh... eh... how old do hamsters get...? - I am the night. A pity, then, that it is so bright out.
Minthara
all modes - You had my attention, now you have my fury. - Phlar Lolth ssinssrickla. - Your suffering will be spectacular. - Stop, or die.

Dhampirs of the Sword's Coast
Got some Dhampiric brainrot for a while and ended up creating following characters - kids of the Vampire Spawns, "Grandchildren of the Night"
I don't know what I am going to do with them but it probably would be a fun fic series.
Let me know in the comms, what you think about all these.
Eben and Eren - Dalyria's twin sons. They lived in the Underdark until they turned 10 when their human-father took them to the surface. They are identical and extremely attached to each other. Probably, the first-born dhampirs.
Ulsha - Half-Orc Paladin of Latander. Born in the Undedark, she grew up among the Vampire Spawns. At the age of 20, she decided to go to the surface and was so shocked to see the sunlight, that she gave a vow never to return undeground.
Theris - Tiefling Bard. Extremely horny but also very talented as a singer. They were abandoned in the streets at a very young age (probably, the very day it became clear they were a dhampir). They fuck everything that moves and if doesn't move, they move it and fuck.
Alethaine - High-Elf Necromancer. Astarion's daughter, she has mannerisms of a royalty. But at the same time, you can often see her digging graves wearing her best dress because she needs to interrogate some corpse.
Mierni - an autistic human-wizard. Very smart but has little to no communication skills. Was literally adopted by Theris.
Harnotir - a Dwarf-conspirologist. Embodiment of "Pepe Sylvia" meme.
Sven - Human. Was thrown away by his own mother at the age of 12 (for being a dhampir, of course). Sven believes it's possible to create a "kingdom of dhampirs" and very idealistic.
Margot - Human-Berserk, who drinks blood to enter the "raging mode". She is heavily addicted to blood and extremely agressive. Sebastian's daughter.
Nomi - Halfling-Cleric, a delusional person who believes you can "pray dhampirism away"
Mother Rosmer - a vampire. Conceived at least three dhampirs from different vampires when she was mortal. Then, yet another vamire turned her into his bride but got killed by her kids. Runs a brothel with vampires and dhampirs as her workers. Every dhampir knows her "House of Blood Pleasures" is a safe place for them (and a good hub to collect information about possible contracts)
Irina - a noble human. She was raised with a belief dhampirs and vampires are abominations. At the age of 16, her fangs grew and she was forced to run, betrayed by her husband-to-be and his family. Irina never fully accepted who she is and ended up in Mother Rosmer's brothel.
Morth - Half-Elf Rogue. Has mannerisms of Inigo Montoya. He is one of the rare cases when a dhampir has good relationship with both of his parents (this includes the twins and Alethaine). Morth is talkative and street-smart and often acts as a leader (unless he fucks up, and Ulsha has to sort thing out)
Kir - half-drow. His origin is unclear but Alethaine and Mierni suspect he might be the first dhampir of the second-generation (a granchild of the Underdark Spawns). He is Rosmer's right hand and runs the brothel as an administrator. He solves problems with clients and the workers. Bisexual.
Black Dimra - a shaman with her face hidden behind a black mask. The closest thing dhampirs have for a religious leader.

I’m going over my muse list. I do love all the characters on there, but there are some that I just don’t think I can hold onto for one reason or another. I’ll have to try and update everything at some point, but for now the characters that I still have (at this point in time) enough personal interest to try and revive are as follows.
Drizzt Do’Urden. exiled drow prince within the Forgotten Realms universe. presently, he’s going to be based within the parameters of the first two main trilogies that he’s in because I have to reread the books to do anything more, and it’s going to take me some time. the first two trilogies are the Dark Elf trilogy (Homeland, Exile, Sojourn) and the Icewind Dale trilogy (The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver, The Halflings Gem). eventually I want to expand his canon, but there is a lot of reading material and I have to be realistic. Drizzt is the reason I made a multimuse, so if I’m going to bring him back then I’m going to do him justice.
Kunsel Skepke. from the FFVII game, he’s fueled mostly by creative influence because they’re probably going to butcher him in the Remake just like they’ve butchered the entire Remake. he is my baby, and I love what I have going for him regardless of whether or not anyone else does.
Cloud Strife. from the FFVII game, inspired heavily by the original, reinspired by the Remake, but 100% creative influence because that game makes me so mad. I have my own backstory for him that I’ll eventually try to get set back up over here. he was on a sideblog, but I don’t know if I have the energy to maintain that right now, and I know he doesn’t have enough interest for it.
Elrond. inspired by book-canon first, film-canon second if it doesn’t interfere with book-canon, and will probably completely ignore the new Amazon whatever-is-about-to-happen. there is a lot of creative influence, but I try to stick close to Tolkien’s lore.
Jughead Jones. so while I enjoyed the serious tone that the Riverdale show gave, it just went... all kinds of crazy. so I’m taking what I liked, ditching what I didn’t, filling in the rest with my own creative influence, and you get what you get.
These above are the characters I have the most fuel left for, the ones I can develop headcanons for.
Guenhwyvar. i’m really having a hard time dropping her, and she’s a very good general type of a character, being a unique magical object. she can fit into any realm or universe that has magical objects, she’s probably the most versatile character I have. so I’m going to hold onto her in the hope I have the energy to develop her more one day.
Erestor. I want to give him the attention he deserves again one day, so I’m going to keep him on here.
Firenze. from Harry Potter, I just really love this centaur and it just doesn’t seem like people are that into centaurs anymore, and that needs to change. >O
These above are characters I have fuel for, but not so much headcanon material atm.
Ignis Scientia, Prompto Argentum, Lazard Deusericus, Glorfindel, Legolas, Uncle Iroh, Zuko, Aloy.
These above characters aren’t dropped, per se, but I just don’t know what to do with them right now. They’re potentials, but I think they’d have to be specifically requested to get much attention right now with everything I’ve got going on.
If you don’t see a character on here, there’s a high likelihood they are going to be dropped.
Sherlock is going to stay on his sideblog attached to the multimuse.

What are the Drizzt characters’ favorite foods? Also, what are their religious or spiritual beliefs, if they have any?
This is by far the hardest headcanon question I’ve ever been asked for some goddamn reason and because all I have to discuss the food in Faerun is the Heroes’ Feast cookbook I’m just going to posit what recipe in the book I think is the favorite of a list of given characters, with my reasoning.
Before that, I might as well bring up that faith actually plays a huge role in the series, specifically because the main character, Drizzt, was raised in a cult.  The way a lot of the characters interact with religion in positive and negative ways is central to the story.  Artemis, though he has moments of being broadly aware of and reverent of the gods in a banal sense, has a deep personally-rooted disdain for priests and religious institutions.  Drizzt himself is kind of privately spiritual in that way most rangers are, but he’s also been through his own journey of faith and it’s complicated and very rooted in the novel itself.
The only characters I can really headcanon are minor ones like Kimmuriel, who I don’t see as particularly attached to any one faith.  Faith to Lolth hasn’t actually served him very well and he wasn’t raised in a particularly faithful household.  I recall Kimmuriel does voice disdain for Eiliastraee and her followers, but in part I think that’s because he has little interest in their idea of living on the surface and passively accepting the prejudice those living there hand down.  Kimmuriel doesn’t mind living in the Underdark and he clearly takes issue with the way surface-dwellers treat him.  Overall, I think he follows Lolth if only because he doesn’t think there are any better options for him, he doesn’t feel any more fitting gods would accept him, which I think is a common feeling among drow like Kimmuriel, personally.
But anyway that’s my semi-long screed on concepts of faith in Legend of Drizzt, on to talking for way too long about food, coupled with a massive tone shift.  Under the cut because there are so many characters I want to discuss and I also wanna add pictures.
Drizzt: Amphail Braised Beef, subbed with Venison
So I actually struggled with Drizzt because as a ranger Drizzt is something of a feral child running around the woods with his 600-lb cat.  My older sister suggested something with large game and I scrolled through a lot of the meat recipes intending to substitute a standard meat with a game meat.  At the end of the day I picked this recipe over others because I thought it was fitting and I kinda liked the choice of pears over apples because I’m weird like that.
Bruenor: Bangers and Smash
Bruenor was really easy for me and that’s because, in simple terms, Bruenor in my mind is pure Dwarven dad energy condensed into a person.  So, what better choice than a traditional hearty Dwarven breakfast staple?  I can genuinely see Bruenor eating this specific recipe with a mug of very dark ale.  Not healthy, but Dwarven dad through and through.
Tumblr media
Wulfgar: Reghed Venison Pot Roast
Originally, I didn’t want to pick the obvious Reghed recipe but upon trawling the recipes, I realized this one actually fits Wulfgar very well.  I imagine it’s more of a special feast meal, rather than an everyday meal for him but also I think it very much fits.
Tumblr media
Catti-brie: Miner's Pie
Had a few considerations with Catti.  Firstly, I don’t consider her particularly delicate, even in the recent books.  Secondly, and in my opinion, more importantly, she is absolutely her father’s daughter in a lot of ways.  I went with Miner’s Pie because it’s kind of a classic even for the real world (it’s just shepherd’s pie) and fits how I end up viewing Catti, tough and hearty but still the kind of person that would make an adventurer homesick if she wasn’t out adventuring herself.
Tumblr media
Regis: Honey-Drizzled Cream Puffs
Literally everything in the halfling section of the Heroes’ Feast looks like it’d be something Regis would like, so it was really just a question of picking the most likely of a lot of likely options.  The cream puff recipe is one of those ones I can just see Regis devouring a whole plate of these, a high compliment for any food.
Tumblr media
Artemis: Fire-Spiced Abyssal Chicken Kebabs
Artemis was tough and I knew from the start he would be.  I settled on this for a few reasons.  The first is that I think Artemis, being familiar with city environments, probably prefers more portable street food to a plain sit-down meal.  The second is that I think he’d like spicy food.  I can’t explain the second point, I just think he’d like it.  Maybe because he has a fairly high tolerance and that’s a point of pride for him?  Who knows.
Tumblr media
Jarlaxle: Sword Coast Seafood Bouillabaisse
I absolutely love bouillabaisse and just personally see it as a pretty fancy dish.  I think it fits Jarlaxle’s tastes perfectly, and fits his growing fondness for the sea even more.  The book’s flavor text also says it’s a staple for swashbucklers and you know, Jarlaxle’s got the hat and the bravado.  He’s most of the way there.
Tumblr media
Kimmuriel: Dragon Salmon
I’m sure, considering Kimmuriel’s predisposition for not really liking the surface, my choice of a surface-elven recipe is odd.  I see it another way.  This is a really nice salmon recipe, one I think Kimmuriel would be particularly fond of.  Furthermore, it’s a recipe that could, theoretically, be replicated in the Underdark.
Tumblr media
Rai-guy (just for good measure I wanna throw in one of my favorite villains because he’s very fun and I have many thoughts): Drow Mushroom Steaks
Okay so I’ve tried this recipe, it’s fantastic, but also Rai-guy...he’s not like Kimmuriel, who seems at least open to trying new things on the surface despite thus far being disappointed.  Rai-guy seems very stuck in his ways and settled into his tastes.  He’s not going to decide a surface recipe is his favorite and this is a popular meal.
Tumblr media
That’s the major characters I can think of, I’m sure there are more to come up with.  I’m sorry this took as long as it did.

Ideas for Sorcerers (D&D)
I do love a bit of innate, chaotic magic, the forces of the world writing themselves onto people. Whether said people wanted them to or not. Heh. I will admit I’m a bit more attached to the ‘touched by cosmic forces’ angle for the sorcerer, it’s really great for backstories, but the bloodlines are also fascinating for the ‘family lore’ and ‘really adventurous ancestors’ ideas. So!
I’m mostly focused on the classic sorcerers and then the horror-adjacent sorcerers, because I’m me, and we know what I like. Apologies to fans of the Divine, Storm or new Clockwork sorcerers!
Draconic
Because dragons (and dragon ancestors) are the best. There’s a lot of fun and aesthetic with choosing your dragon ancestor too. The little scales you get with draconic resilience just make for some really cool-looking characters.
I love the idea of mixing ancestries with a draconic sorcerer. Compare and contrast. For example, a tiefling draconic sorcerer with gold dragon ancestry! Combining a ‘tainted’ bloodline with a respected one. Maybe the clan lean heavily into the lawful reputation of gold dragons, as well as a sort of internalised racism against their own darker ancestry as well. They view the fact that they were once favoured by a divine dragon as proof that their bloodline can redeem themselves of their demonic pact/ancestry, and they lean towards lawful occupations, city watch, soldiers, clergy, etc. So your sorcerer has a bit of internal conflict going on. (Also, a red tiefling with gold scales is an awesome look – tiefling skin colours with dragon scale colours is a really fun combination)
Other cool-sounding ancestry combinations: high elf & white/silver ancestry, for that ethereal immortal feeling (also fun to add stereotypical dragon traits with the white dragons, in that you’re an ethereal immortal who really holds a grudge and does not do ‘forgive and forget’), half-elf & green ancestry, for a strongly outcast, political bent, halfling/gnome & copper ancestry, because if you’re going to go for a tiny trickster you might as well go all out …
Or we have my old favourite, a tortle sorcerer with (somehow) a dragon turtle ancestor, because great-grandpa Uhok never met an older and (significantly) larger lady he didn’t want to pursue, and great-grandma Korthalok was honestly rather flattered. (Yes, I am aware that dragon turtles are not high dragons, but they are intelligent, and they’re probably innately magical/elemental enough to put a bit of magic in the bloodline)
Shadow Magic
The sorcerer’s gothic option! I do love it. Your magic comes from a strange, grim shadow realm, either because you were touched by said realm, or one of your ancestors was an entity from said realm. You get a demonic shadow hound, teleportation from shadow to shadow, and later an actual shadow form. Lots to work with there.
I feel like there’s a lot of Lovecraftian, Dreamlands, William Hope Hodgson sort of feeling here. The dark touch of a strange realm. Emphasis on isolation, desolation, alienation. Loneliness. This is also the subclass where I really, really like a later-life coming into your powers, a traumatic event causing a normal person to suddenly develop horrifying magic.
So. Any of your gothic/cosmic horror backstories. You were kidnapped and subjected to a horrific ritual. You were created in a horrific ritual (hi Warforged!). You suffered a severe, inexplicable illness as a child, and remained pale, half-dead, and possessed of strange powers for the rest of your life (I love the shadow sorcerer quirks list). An insane ancestor entered the Negative Plane and your line was almost annihilated by the resulting Nightwalker, but you somehow survived. Your parent was an extremely powerful magic user studying the Shadowfell, and you only realised much later on in your life that your childhood ‘imaginary friends’ were actually Sorrowsworn (Lost and Lonely?) that haunted your ancestral home and that your parent was somehow keeping from killing you. You tried to steal from a powerful, vindictive wizard, who flung you into the Shadowfell for your temerity, and you don’t fully remember how you survived. You slept in a barrow as a dare when you were younger, and an allip whispered secrets to you that lead you to dream of a dark realm, dreams that seemed to gradually change you as you ‘recovered’ …
This entire subclass is just very much ‘go nuts on the horror tropes and have fun’. I love it dearly.
Aberrant Mind
A new one from Tasha’s, but the other Lovecraftian/horror themed sorcerer subclass now. Which is perfectly fine, because I can always roll with more Lovecraftian horror! If shadow magic was themed strongly towards undead, Aberrant Mind seems strongly themed towards aberrations. Body horror and psychic powers! Boo yeah!
I do like the suggested origins. Particularly the parasitic twin and the imaginary friend ones. I think there’s a lot of fun to be had with those. Aberrant mind does feel more … on the science fiction end of horror, more than the fantasy? There’s a different flavour compared to shadow magic. We’re talking alien abduction and Carrie-esque childhood trauma here. Particularly when you get to the higher level actual physical transformation elements. Bit of Akira in there, bit of Innsmouth. So.
I’m liking characters who are a bit ‘aberrant’ on their own merits, even before their powers kick in as well. The outcasts from the get-go. The albino half-orc abandoned by the tribe as a child and befriended/kept safe by their possibly-imaginary flumph friend. The fallen aasimar whose blessings allowed them to survive where their stillborn twin did not, but who still feels the touch of a ghostly hand in theirs (I’m not sure how well it fully gels, but I feel like an Atropal is a very interesting concept to lay alongside this – stillborn gods and blessed, aberrant champions – celestial guides and the whisperings of parasitic twins … not sure how well it fits, but there’s a lot of crunchy concepts there)
Also, there’s your chance to have some fun with the Underdark races. Duergar, Deep Gnomes and Drow. Or sea races, when we have fun with Aboleths. Or non-sea races who still had a bit of fun with Aboleths, if we want to fully embrace the Innsmouth vibes and have normal land-based elves/humans/halflings who come over all Deep-One in the end. You come from a quaint little village on the coast, where the coming-of-age ceremony involved something of an opening of the mind. Nothing to worry about, everyone does it where you come from. Yes indeed! Heh.
And then, to bring us back to the less-horrifying end of sorcerers, and to revisit my childhood in a big way, we have:
Wild Magic
Schmendrick the Magician! Sorry, I grew up on The Last Unicorn, you’ll have to forgive me this. (Is Schmendrick actually part of the inspiration here, I’m wondering?)
But honestly, wild magic really lends itself to down-on-their-luck characters, running ahead of their own chaos, or striving to learn to control their powers. Or, on the flipside, incredibly laissez-faire types who decided to just roll with and eventually enjoy or perpetuate a little chaos. So. Tricksters, shysters and earnest young things trying to do their best.
So. You could do a straight Schmendrick. A down-on-their-luck kid who really, really wants to be a real wizard, a great magician, but their magic just will not cooperate. It has a mind of its own, and their struggle is learning to either minimise or lean into the chaos and power of it. (I like a background as a tailor/seamstress for this, partly because of animated Schmendrick’s memorable patchwork robes, but also as a little practical detail in that, if you can’t trust your magical mending not to do a ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ on it every damn time, you probably would learn to darn your socks the old fashioned way)
For a variation, you could do a bit of a snake-oil salesperson sort of deal. A down-on-their-luck sorcerer turned shyster/criminal to make ends meet. Wild magic works very well as a sort of bloodline curse, bad luck and chaos following a family. A woman of the Witchbottle clan pissed off an archfey way back when, and so every girl born to the line since has struggled with wild magic. So the clan tends to move around a lot, both individually and as a whole, and individual members of it tend to work around their inevitable getting run out of town for magical mishaps in their own ways. The clan has a lot of travelling entertainers, salespeople, criminals, etc, and tend to be very loyal to each other, even if they don’t see each other all that often (concentrations of wild magic in a single area tend to be bad for said area, so family gatherings are discouraged near civilisation).
And then there are your straight trickster characters. Ones with a more philosophical approach to chaos, a belief that you should be able to deal with the unexpected, and that maybe other people should be helped along in experiencing and dealing with it too. I like bards for tricksters, but wild magic sorcerers work very well too. Heh.
I know Wild Magic might not be the most functional of the subclasses, but it’s got a direct line to my childhood, and I feel like it’s still a really fun idea.
In summary? I like the squishy spindly magic people. They’re fun.

Player’s Guide: Meet The Archmages of Capitol!
Well the Player’s Guide is coming together really well, and thanks to @dnd-chamyra-studies, as well as @paradigmanomaly and @nickle-snatcher for providing so much help on building the City of Capitol.
But without any further delay, let’s get into the details...
Archmage of Illusion, The Archmage Indefinable
The Archmage of Illusion never shares his actual name, and often creates elaborate illusions and personas to hide himself.
He’s a High-Level Wizard (obviously) with the magical capabilities to create up to 8 Illusory Duplicates thanks to his ability to cast Mirror Image at-will, and he’s almost accompanied by his Simulacrum, who can do the same...
He’s used many fancy names and personas to hide his identity: Example names include Salem, Owahl, Zakalis and Morgan.
The Archmage of Illusion became famous for being so powerful that when the rival Kingdom of Rassumurait attempted to sail to the shores of Capitol, he disguised the stars they used to navigate so that they ended up lost at sea and where forced to retreat...
What does he look like?
He’s an older Halfling Man, lightly hunched in posture with wild curly grey hair with an arrow through it like a makeshift hairpin. He’s well over 3-foot-tall, even while hunched over, with gross old barefoot hobbit feet with excessive foot hair, his toenails have clearly never been trimmed, and he seems to have some sort of exotic fungal disease on his feet, even starting to develop small mushrooms...
Because when you literally always have a disguise or illusion on you, you don’t really need to look good or wash at all...
He carries a small wooden staff like a cane, and in his other hand he often holds a pipe.
The Archmage of Illusion is known for levitating in conversations with the other Archmages, so they can speak eye-to-eye rather than top-of-head to crotch; and he has a nervous habit of letting out a little giggle whenever he tells the truth.
He’s also recently become addicted to the Laumadorian Plant known as ‘Weeping Flak’, smoking it and adding it like spice and sugar to everything they consume, since Weeping Flak (also known as Bluegrass) is also known to increase one’s arcane powers for a short time after consumption.
Archmage of Enchantment, Father Jack
Father Jack? Well this handsome dwarven wizard used to get every girl he wanted into bed since his beard started to grow. You may be asking why the Archmages call him Father Jack, better pose that question to his 122 Sons and 99 Daughters...
He’s short, stocky, and very clearly dwarven to anyone that looks at him. His skin is slightly tanned from his days on the coast, and his face carries a big bulbous red nose at its center.
His beard seems quite magnificent, with ornate brass and bronze bands adorning their beard. Their beard is also very obviously dyed. There are streaks of grey that have been colored to match their original shade, but don’t quite match.
Another odd feature is his left eye, since he’s missing it, and it appears he’s had a chunk of solid gold carved to look like an eye implanted in the place of his left eye.
He wears a copper ring on one finger, a ring with intricate carvings on its surface, and this Archmage always seems to be followed by a smell of rum and alcohol on his breath...
Archmage of Conjuration, Archmage Butterfly
Her full name is ‘Clawed Butterfly’. A Conjuration Wizard who is always accompanied by her Faithful Hound and her Unseen Servant. She often chooses to use Misty Step rather than walking...
She’s feline and cat-like in appearance, she often wears an ombre-dyed hood that reminds you of a hunting cat. Meanwhile the feline tail of the Archmage winds and flickers with a mind of its own.
She has cat-like slits for eyes, and just to confirm; Yes, she’s a Tabaxi Wizard.
She has tattoos across her face, starting from the corner of her mouth to the edge of her eye, but barely visible under her tabaxi hair.
Her right arm is bizarre and unnatural: One of her arms is a slightly different tone, and slightly shorter in length than the other one, her right-hand having steel claws that appear to be artificially attached to her fingertips.
Her left arm is even more bizarre: She has an extra hand coming out of her left wrist. This extra hand is as small as a child’s and is blackened and seems to be of no use: A failed conjuration experiment perhaps?
She also has an eye on the palm of her left hand, something she hides behind her back in her always regal-looking pose while speaking.
Archmage of Evocation, Archmage Damascus Iados
A Tiefling Evocation Wizard with bright flames that flicker across the back of their hands, and smaller, heatless flames seem to flicker across their skin while the earth seems to tremor slightly while he walks.
In charge of the Tower of Evocation, Archmage Iados is a Tiefling Man with bright red skin, a bald head and two curling horns atop his head like those of a wild ram.
He wears blue and green robes that flow down to his feet, and every so often has heatless flames flickering across his skin before sputtering out on their own.
His left hand has three fingers, while his right hand has seven, and both hands seem to glow very faintly with a low white flame...
Archmage of Abjuration, Archmage Neskul Nyultin
Urban legends say that there used to be a Silver Dragonborn Wizard so skilled in the magics of Abjuration, yet so paranoid, that he stayed deep underground within his Tower, surrounded by a bubble of powerful magics, though when forced to go outside in-person, he sits cross-legged on a Tenser’s Floating Disk, with a globe of protective magics around him at all times...
Archmage Neskul Nyultin is a Dragonborn Wizard with glimmering silver scales, as is usually seen cross-legged on a small disk of force that floats above the ground. His legs seem withered from atrophy, and his body seems very thin for a Dragonborn...
A shimmering globe of arcane wards almost always surrounds him, as he’s almost always seen with his hands inwards, his fingers intertwined and seemingly always concentrating on the many spells that protect his being.
This Dragonborn Archmage has several scales missing and a long deep gash running along his face. He has two long, spiny and membranous ears, and a slightly off-center snout, akin to a poorly reset broken nose.
Upon his head sit two overly curled horns, and in his chest glows a dragonborn heart, a heart that glows bright enough to be seen beneath his scales and through the sphere of arcane wards that surround him.
After an encounter with a Red Dagger Assassin as a young Archmage, Neskul has become paranoid, as he knows the Red Daggers are master assassins that always get their target, one way or another.
This paranoia has caused him to become shut-off and shut-in, though he still teaches the students of his Tower through the use of Simulacrums, Projected Images and various other methods of magic, all while hiding himself away deep within the underground of his Tower of Abjuration...
Archmage of War, Archmage Leowynn Wynanthal
A High Elf War Wizard and Bladesinger, Archmage Leowynn is probably the most prominent figure in Capitol aside Archmage Iados.
An elf with pearl-colored hair that seems to glow in the light, with long and curved ears and incredibly long eyebrows with a small pointed nose. He has pale skin, his face having splotches the color of red wine, with exotic runes carved onto his forearms and a long thin rapier by his side.
He wears flowing robes that looks as if they’re made from specks of starlight, he also wears elven ear clasps made of spun silver and an engraved leather archery bracer on his left wrist.
He has many scars and callouses along his forearms, perhaps formed over many brutal sparring sessions.
But his hands can sometimes be the most fascinating thing about him. He has a recessive finger on each hand, and a Holy Symbol of the Black Hand of Bane branded onto his right hand.
Leowynn is maybe my favorite Archmage out of the lot. He’s the Archmage in charge of both the Tower of War that trains War Wizards, and the War College that trains up the regular infantrymen and soldiers.
He’s probably the most publicly seen figure, and his whole host of magic items, from Bracers of Archery to his Robe of Stars to everything else he carries, also makes him look the part of an Archmage (he’s also the only Archmage to travel to another Plane of existence...)
He’s also known for his spats and arguments with the other Archmages, since the War College has always had an uneasy alliance with the Edhel Halls Library, and with Archmage Leowynn being one of the few Archmages to of taken part in the War Underground between the Elves of the West and the Drow of the East over 50 Years ago, he’s probably the oldest Archmage in the King’s Council, but he seems to favor Archmage Iados and students from the Tower of Evocation especially...
Archmage of Necromancy, Archmage Froja Dundrek
Ya haven’t heard of the old tale of Froja’s head? Well let me tell ya!
There was once a Wizard called Froja who got sentenced to death for using Necromancy and black magics back when it was still a crime, before the War Underground basically. She managed to break free and sneak into the Archives of the Edhel Halls, the place that holds all the scrolls with the old magics in ‘em. She found a spell in those forbidden pages, one that granted her eternal life.
After she cast the Spell, she went in-front of the King himself and asked for forgiveness before demanding her freedom, he refused. Put her in Jail and chopped off her head the next day.
Well as it turns out, she’s still alive! And she now teaches other Wizards. But they still keep her head as a training object for young students...
The best way to describe Froja’s apperance is that of a headless corpse.
She’s a shadowy and shrouded figure, wearing boots and thick black leather straps around the ankles. She also wears grey patterned pants and a slender thin belt made of the same black leather.
A shimmering feathered shawl drapes from her shoulders like a pair of dark wings, and a brooch that seems to be made of woven strands of pure silver hangs from her left breast.
And above her shoulders is a collar made of woven tree twigs, the twigs and sticks thorny and withered black.
And finally, above this collar, where a head would be, there’s nothing at all! No head, and yet the body lives on...
Archmage Neskul has been at odds with Archmage Froja since the beginning, with Archmage Neskul begging Froja time and time again to reveal whatever magics and spells she used to maintain this life (or un-life) for eternity, never being able to truly die. And time and time again Froja had refused his advances, never revealing even a single detail about the spell she used to gain this eternal life...
Archmage of Transmutation, Drasaaria Argal
There once was a Transmutation Wizard so prolific that eventually any gold coming into her city was treated like scrap metal to her...
Archmage Argal is a Half-Drow Transmutation Wizard, and probably the only figure with a dark elf bloodline that’s tolerated by most people in the Capitol. When she joined the King’s Council, the uproar was tremendous, as the War Underground between the Elves of the West and the Drow had ended not a decade before...
But you wouldn’t think she’s a half-drow if you looked at her, because her skin isn’t dark... It’s metallic!
Her skin has a shine to it like a fine polished metal, and some might even mistake her for a statue standing in the room if you didn’t know her...
She wears very little actual clothing, but hold onto your thirst because she still wears clothes, specifically a pair of white gloves woven from the finest spider silk, while an ornate ear-cuff in the fashion of an orchid spirals around her left ear.
Her leggings have an opalescent sheen, and she’s also one of the many Archmages that likes to stand and walk barefoot...
Argal is another one of my favorites, and I knew I wanted to put a Drow on the Council because I just wanted to see what would happen...
And trust me when I say she’s no pushover, as my Players have found out time and time again.
That shiny skin she has: That’s Adamantine. Yep, she transmuted her skin to become living adamantine, so you try facing down a 20th Level Archmage with 23 AC...
And she’s also been known to horribly torture people the Council wants dead, or wants answers from. She’s turned a guy’s brains into mercury, polymorphed a guy into a robin before turning said bird into a tiny solid gold statue, she’s even wiped a Player’s memory clean using Programmed Amnesia... She’s a mean one...
She’s also one of the Wizards (alongside Archmage Froja) who’s at odds with Archmage Neskul, since he keeps asking her how she got her adamantine skin and she keeps refusing to answer him.
And due to most of the other Archmages just barely tolerating the presence of a Drow on their Council, that just means she trains up her students in the Tower of Transmutation even harder, which often results in the Tower of Transmutation producing some of the most powerful Mages...
Archmage of Divination, Archmage Ofyne Yuvidet
There used to be a Wizard so skilled in divination magics that she never bothered having a conversation, because she already knew how it was going to end...
Ofyne is a Human Wizard and the Archmage of Divination. She wears old dull blur robes over tattered clothing. She has long and frizzy graying-brown hair that falls just below her shoulders, with what looks like small woodland critters wriggling around in her hair...
Her body seems incredibly damaged. Her hands are stained multiple colors of brown and green, and acid burns that run along both hands.
On her right hand is a small blackened sixth finger that twitches of its own volition. She also possesses what’s left of a still-attached left hand. It looks like it was crushed but was never amputated. She also has a horrid burn mark running down from her left elbow to her crushed hand.
One leg seems severely deformed: Ofyne uses a set of double crutches to walk, but more often floats and flies around as she finds it far easier on her body. She’s also one of the Wizards that walks barefoot, and smells of burnt tea leaves!
She seems blind, her eyes pale and clouded over with cataracts in her old age, with bags under her eyes that suggests she probably hasn’t slept comfortably in many years...
She has no nose, instead having a big hole where her nose would be, and her mouth is permanently crooked, giving her a cocky smirk and almost wicked grin. However, Ofyne wears a prosthetic nose and mask made of silvery-blue mithral, which keeps the prosthetic in place while partially obscuring her face to prying eyes.
Small mushrooms emerge and grow from her neck and shoulders, she also has several scars around her neck, some apparently self-inflicted, almost like she’s had her throat slit multiple times and healed from every wound...
Ofyne (or Archmage Yuvidet if you want to call her that) is probably the most interesting Archmage. She hasn’t cut or groomed her hair in over 8 Years, and her eyes seem to glow when near poison or fresh blood.
She’s in charge of the Library of Saturnity in Fostin, ans she’s also one of the very few Archmages that’s actually allied with Archmage Neskul.
However, the Archmage of Divination is currently missing and has been missing for some number of months now, but this has yet to become public knowledge...
Ofyne is probably the oldest Human on the Council (aside from Archmage Froja and that eternal life thing she has going on...) and Ofyne’s seen a lot.
You’d think for a Divination Wizard she’d be fine right, no scratches at all because she knows the future...
Well when you have to take orders from the King, the Hand of the King, and a bunch of Archmages (lest you be straight up murdered), you’re forced into situations where you know you’re going to get messed up. (Google ‘The Seven Against Thebes’ if you want to see where I got some inspiration...)
And that’s all the Archmages!
And yes, I know there’s other Wizard Schools like the School of Invention and the School of Onomancy, but since those aren’t Official Subclasses yet, I’m yet to make them canon in my world, so no, there is no Archmage of Onomancy or Archmage of Invention... Yet!
But tell me what you think of the Archmages of Capitol, what are your first impression, are they to be trusted?
Let me know in the Comments with your Replys and Reblogs!

Time for lunch in the castle ward
Someone is yelling at us in the farmer's market place
We walk away
Adam rolls a nat20 to find a tavern
Mirt looks the same as always but he's dressed up more than we're used to
Mirt pays for us bc we're poor
It's like a café
"some of them laughing, in like a very upperclass way"
We are at the dragon's head
Old elf guy is there asking us to follow him as he takes us to the bag
Not much seating inside
Situated on a bluff, unblocked view of the sea
Pigeons have hatched, ugly
We're getting water
Where are we going
,,,,, home ?
Someone sent mirt a thing that said we were looking for the xanathar guild hq
Mirt said he can show us where the alleged entrance is
The shrimp is half celandine's size
We're talking abt someone who embezzled ??
Adam goes to yava
Confronts her abt telling laerl
Gives her his ukulele pick and says he might not come back next week
Asyna and celandine are
Going to meet jones
And get a goldfish
Shack on the outside but inside of apartment is richly furnished
Lots of goblins
Cel's talkin to jones
Jones has once use of dust of disappearance

Sings baby by bustin bieber
Acquires dust
Y does everyone think we're gonna die
They're gonna go get goldfish now

Theo goes to TYP
Talks to durnan
Asks if he knows anyone named lavinia
He's gone for a bit in the back
Comes back w a rlly big tome
Asks theo when
Apparently four months since they were separated
Durnan asks theo to describe her
Page covered w names dates n groups, pointed to group that dipped abt two months ago
Was there for a few days before (going down the well?)

She's probably down there
They have not come back through this entrance

Sheath of papers, investigation check of 12
Blueprints for what sewers originally looked like
When first conceived
Investigation, 18
Nothing particularly weird but diff testimonials from citywatch reporting weird things like gangs and monsters
You read that occasionally they find areas with strange layouts
Investigation check, 5
Ask if dragonborne knows of other places
Suggests speaking to city itself
She listed places in the sea ward
Adam is looking for another teacher
Adam is acquainted with don as another teacher
Adam is buying smth
Shortbow

Attuning to bow gives +2 to damage
.mirt is taking us through a few alleyways
Bureaucratic stuff
We come into enclosed doorway place to alley tha's been blocked off on the side of the street
Manhole cover in the ground]
Gives mirt wig
Aerana goes down after cel, refuge from rain
Down into sewer
Aerana jumps in, area looks like a fluke
Walls look like would contain larger passageway but they took section of sewer and blocked it off as separate room
Passageway with a doorway and stairs leading down
9 perception, can't hear too much other than dripping water
Aerana steps inside, gets sense of being watched, goes down stairs a little bit
Starts seeing points of light
Sees eyes that pop open bc of the light
Magical carvings
Unsettling carvings
No reaction; stone carving in the walls
Displays an eye
Readies weapon
Aerana rolls 23 for stealth
Light gets a lot brighter as descending down staircase
Enters to long hallway that's 9ish feet long, doorway I can see from my position leading off righthand side, all throughout tunnel are eye motifs carved into walls
Sensation I'm being watched
Looking down to left there's big set of double doors, in front of doors on ceiling is eye but different from carvings; looks alive, sticks down and is attached to stalk, occasionally blinks
Eye is just monitoring passageway
Adam makes intelligence check, 6, it looks like the beholder's eyes
It's 60 feet away
Aerana sneaks down, pushes door open a little
Peeking through looks like another shorter hallway going for 40ish feet, v narrow, stops at another door
Adam makes intelligence arcana check, thinks the thing is a sensor, like a security camera
Aerana goes to other door
Peeking in, looks like big chandelier? is hanging from ceiling
23 for stealth again, I'm good thank the lord
You see another beholder eye thing floating in the middle of the room, it's being necormanced
Doesn't see me
There r big green spores floating around like dust motes
Looks like there's another hallway down there
We are outside the room with the beholder zombie
We're gonna try to blind the thingy and RUN to the other hallway
Long dark hallway that leads to left past range of left
Dash into room on the left
Throw open door
Slam circular door behind us
Now we're in a stairway that slopes downwards
Making way downstairs
There's a figure looming in shadows on the side, is actually a suit of armor on the wall
Cel stops adam from touching armor
We walk for a little while, passing into tunnel that curves a little; opens up to open amphitheater, have entered into spectators area for audience
Semicircular recess on the southeast wall
More eye things
Jacob has tums
Looking around chamber, well-lit, blood-stained sand pit in the center
Eye is far away doesn't appear to b looking at us, urns and weird jars under it, nobody here
Set of stairs leading up to right, stairs leading up to left
It's like an arena
We can assume it's for fighting
There's a tunnel leading under the thingy
We're gonna go to tunnel
Jump into the thingy, eye still doesn't appear to see us
Big open tunnel abt 10 ft wide w a circle door blocking our view
Aerana turns the door handle, rolls away
In another darkened chamber
Does look like there are cells in here
Aerana runs 30 feet into cells
Halfling sitting in corner, arms crossed
Drow woman
30 feet sees third cell out of four, has three people in it
Woman, two men
Older man, two younger people
Do we recognize anyone? From what you can see no
Fourth cell has some rlly large hulking creatures
Minotaur
Adam is talking to smth that doesn't rlly understand ? Minotaur ?
Adam is going to sing smth ?
Shutting the door, adam rolls a 17 bardic inspiration
Face matted w blood
Bones in cell
Adam takes out a ration and v tenderly pokes it through the cage doors without putting hand through the cage
Cel is going to humans
Brown skin, olive complexion
Rushes up
"say you don't look like one of the thugs"
"we're not we're trying to take them down what can you tell us about this place"
This is xanathar guild, they throw ppl in arena to fight, beasts in other cell
Claudia, jia and arthwright
Arthwright is an older man
Been here for two weeks?
Others have been there longer than them
Jia says the only time they've seen Him, when fighting; usually by place w urns
Find the jailer for the keys
Or just pick the lock
Aerana is going to drow woman nvm
Halfling closest to door minute came in she yelling at her
We're gonna try to get you out
Was kidnapped
Used to live in sea ward
Maybe we can help you
Asyna goes to drow
Starts talking to her in elvish
Greets her
"say .. You're not with zorin are you?"
Who's zorin
"oh . Well in any case unimportant now"
Asks if she's from a house
Was wandering through and was captured
Asyna rolls history check, 20
Official house title was houses of zorlauren
Asks her what house she's from
"oh ! Wonderful"
Expedition project led her astray
She says no one else of importance was captured

Adam walks up to humans and asks how often jailer comes by, daily
Dwarf wearing horned helmet
Dwarf already came in to give food
If make too much noise he might come back in
"big boys, I need you to make a lot of noise on my signal"
Hear cursing in dwarvish and someone descends down flight of steps
Doorway rolls open, see squat dwarf fellow w big helmet

Hey, you know that 35 d&d questions ask meme? I answered all of them.
This is a long ass post. Be warned. It took up seven and a half pages in google docs. Original post here.
1. A favorite character you have played.
Would have to be Zize Fortier, dragonborn gunslinger. Their tag on this blog is #zize and you can find their bio and info on my character page. Love that bastard!! He’s sweet and bratty and a total delight to play (we are such an OP party, y’all).
2. Your favorite character that someone else has played.
UM UM gonna talk about a few here. To be fair to people I play a *lot* of games with, I’m only gonna  talk about one PC per person.
- The bastard trio in my Wildemount game– @toomanyorphans ’s Nakoria, @overplannedbutunnamednpc ‘s Zier (also an NPC in the campaign Zize is in), and @glasyasbutch ‘s Nissy. They all really suck so bad but in SUCH funny ways. They’re varying degrees of self centered and awful, but we trust each other in this campaign, and those 3 players are SO funny in their RP.
- (RIP) Avri in my Wildemount game. They and Bly named each other,,,,  they were parent and child…… VERY sweet. huge goliath with tiny bird in backpack.
- @bekahdoesnershit ‘s Raini. Zize’s BFF, and her tag on that blog is rich. She’s SUCH a bitch but we love her.
- @bhissar ‘s Saela. She is a dream character for me to DM for– very little fleshed out backstory with room to explore, with still-concrete events in it. Consistent character choices and personality, to the point I can sometimes predict what she’ll do. Very cool aesthetically. And overall? EXTREMELY sweet. Baby, baby bird.
3. Your favorite side quest.
Either the one going on right now in amnesia, where we have to collect brain matter from big powerful elementals, or the stop we made at a family of vampires in Acarnya (the one I played Osfyr in).
4. Your current campaign.
There are five of those, with two on hold.
-Wildemount, aka the Frozen Sick module from Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount (we’re almost done with that, my PC is Bly).
-Amnesia campaign aka high level campaign: we woke up in hell with no memories! PC is Zize.
-Hoard of the Dragon Queen module, near the beginning of that, PC is Pointy.
-Horror campaign, only two sessions so far, but we’re trapped in an alternate dimension carrying out tasks for a creepy dude. PC is Vinny.
-Kithan, where we’re high level monster hunting guild members searching  out ancient artifacts of the gods (campaign based on the Monster Hunter games), PC is Topaz.
-Silas, party is currently trying to help dragons free themselves and stop a… dude? No spoilers! I DM. On hold because I had too many campaigns going at once.
-Silas v2: extremely vaguely based on the plot of season one of the web series Carmilla. A tweaked version of the first arc the Silas party went through. On hold because it was played in person at school.
5. Favorite NPC.
I don’t really have any NPCs in my campaigns that I’m super attached to, except– Nikeo, a goliath rogue PC in Silas 1, had many adopted children. Three of them– kobolds– sometimes stand on each others’ shoulders, put on a long coat, and help out around their parent’s store. They’ve named themselves Koby.
As for favorite NPCs in campaigns I’ve played, I can think of… a lot. The first is Laurel, a blue dragonborn loner type who followed Osfyr and friends in Acarnya. They were kind of broody and dark, but they really drew me in. They were the first NPC we really talked to– they were sitting on top of the post office laughing at the mob scene of people protesting not getting their mail delivered.
I’d also pick Osfyr’s partners in that campaign– Yelkian, a backstory love interest I came up with, a flamboyant soft sorcerer. Jupiter, politician’s niece, who took pity on Osfyr’s attempts to seduce information out of her and let them succeed on both counts (seduction and information). Xerxes, extra AF rogue with a big loving family, who swept in after a fight on the back of an eagle-wildshaped Brysth (npc druid).
There’s a blue dragon in the HOTDQ campaign that we don’t know much about. I really enjoyed the way @dungeonsanddraconicqueer played him. He’s just a dude! Lex’s warlock made a Deal with him to leave the town alone. We still don’t know the implications of that. It’s fine, guys.
And then, there’s Stewart the Skin Steward, a servant of False Mystra. Fun dude.  Very cavalier– nigh, enthusiastic!– about the fact that his entire city was made of skin. Something of a skin connoisseur, in fact!
6. Favorite death (monster, player character, NPC, etc).
Saela, hands down. She got breathed on by a dragon, yo. We then had to stop playing for 4-5 months because a player lost access to the Internet. I wrote a vision/speech from her warlock patron, the Raven Queen, the night she died, and basically didn’t touch it until I read it out in game. It involved a confession that the Queen was  tired of being a god, and showing Saela all the lives she’d touched. Then we used Matt Mercer’s rez rules for her. She came back– but it was her choice.
7. Your favorite downtime activity.
Fucking tinkering dude!!! I don’t get to do it enough as Zize and that is entirely my fault. @ morgan, eyes emoji
8. Your favorite fight/encounter.
I LOVE creepy shit. There was a train car with people dancing in it, and party members got enchanted to dance along and eat the food,  and the revelers were clearly in pain, and snuffing out a candle caused a reveler to disappear. Creepy shit!
In Kithan, we had to climb a staircase, and we timed it with produce flame which is a 10 minute duration cantrip, and we were climbing for 50 minutes. We started to see things in the edges of our vision. Then someone realized it was an illusion, and it all vanished. It freaked me out so bad.
In amnesia campaign, at level 19, we were traversing a cave, and our shadows started dripping the same black goop we were there to investigate. We killed one and it took down the max hp of the person whose shadow it was, and then they straight up didn’t have a shadow until they long rested. It really freaked us out, realizing the shadows were actually creatures, but they were like CR 1. Really effective use of a low level monster.
9. Your favorite thing about D&D.
The way it has something for everyone… the way it’s brought me so many friends… the way it’s inspired my OC creation like nothing else.
10. Your favorite enemy and the enemy you hate the most.
I’m not sure if this is asking about NPCs I’ve had as enemies, or any monster in D&D canon? The longest campaign I played in didn’t have long term enemies  per se. I’d say I was frustrated with the cultists that ambushed us last session in HOTDQ,  but I didn’t hate them! I just couldn’t seem to hit or dodge them. As for a favorite… probably False Mystra: the demon lord Orcus who’d taken over  the position, and therefore the duties, of Mystra, the god of arcane magic.  We killed it,  but then whoopso!! Our wizard lost her powers.
11. How often do you play and how often would you ideally like to play?
I play an ideal amount, honestly: four times a week, for about 2.5-3 hours a session. HOTDQ Tuesdays, Kithan and horror campaign switching off Wednesdays, Wildemount Thursdays cause we miss CR, Amnesia Sundays.
12. Your in game inside jokes/memes/catchphrases and where they came from.
Amnesia: Yocheved, the party barbarian/full time fish, has a secret third arm and/or a prosthetic ass. Cylthia, the druid, does arson (but actually). Relentless is a Crown paladin, so she puts her fingers in her ears when we do crime/lie. She also has a rod of lordly might that, immediately post amnesia, she made into a 32 foot climbing pole. Yocheved eats pounds and pounds of raw fish for every meal.
Wildemount: just the shenanigans and sabotaging each other that the Bastard Trio get into. Example: Nissy was tasked with buying Zier a cloak for cold weather and purposely got him an  ugly one. Zier then prestidigitated it to be a nicer color.
13. Introduce your current party.
Oh boy, I have 6 of those. Here goes. Keep in mind many of these characters are played and games are DMed by my friends who have OC blogs of their own: Raini and Ayen are bekahdoesnerdshit, Ezra, Nissy, and Roona are glasyasbutch, Horror DM, Lent, Eve, and Nakoria are toomanyorphans, Wildemount DM, Saela, Daecyne, and Cylthia are bhissar, HOTDQ DM is dungeonsanddraconicqueer, and Amnesia DM, Zier, Nyxi, and Sarril are overplannedbutunnamednpc. Not an OC blog, but Yocheved, Avri, Arbor, Thraf, Nikeo, and Whisper are mickgoesabsolutelyhamforbarbie.
Amnesia (Zize): Lent, tiefling paladin, former crownsguard who “fell” (became an oathbreaker), then un-fell when we lost our memories. Cylthia, tiefling/elf druid who can shift between tiefling and elf forms and loves setting things on fire. Yocheved, 14 foot tall nereid (fishfolk) barbarian with a dry sense of humor, is the party parent. And Raini, aasimar wizard, sass machine and Zize’s bff.
HOTDQ. My PC is Pointy. Ezra, quiet human paladin. Theata, moon elf rogue. Freya, sweet (human?) light cleric who sometimes misreads situations. Eve, 13 year old (!!) human warlock who kinda sucks, but like, she’s 13. Nyxi, motherly gnome bard who Is going to adopt Pointy.
Wildemount (Bly): Alene, human barbarian. Quiet and with somewhat of a parent instinct. Some sort of Mysterious Backstory. Delta, aasimar rogue, similarly shady backstory? Unclear. Sticks with Alene. Nissy, drow rune knight, sucks. Zier, drow sorcerer, also sucks. Nakoria, dragonborn warlock, ALSO sucks. (Those three make up the Bastard Trio.) Avri (F for them), goliath bard and Avri’s guardian, died last session by falling on a floor full of knives.
Horror campaign (Vinny): Roona, halfling bard, very impulsive, eats exclusively with her spoon that says ASS, and chills in Vinny’s fanny pack. Ayen, elven teenage warlock with a dark backstory. Sarril, Ayen’s not-dad, half elf beast barbarian who got it from his wife. Arbor, dryad  monk, who wears an all white plague doctor outfit at all times.
Silas v1 (DM), Original party before 1 left and 1 died: Hacka (RIP), human luchador-styled drunken monk. Nikeo (left), goliath rogue with so many adopted children. Inferno, fire genasi paladin/phoenix sorcerer with anger and impulse control issues. Saela, babiest aarakocra warlock of the Raven Queen. Hacka’s player now plays Voda, a stoic water genasi tempest cleric who cast Raise Dead successfully on Saela. Nikeo’s player now plays Whisper, a tabaxi astral soul monk.
Kithan (Topaz): Thraf, monsterborn (universe-compliant dragonborn) barbarian. Very social, very outgoing, very stupid, and very traumatized. Fucks majorly. Daecyne, sweet tiefling druid and Topaz’s good friend. Viosa, aasimar homebrew class I forget the name of, uses her small stature and allure to her advantage. Damur, half-orc eldritch knight, the party’s only braincell.
14. Introduce any other parties you have played in or DM-ed.
Acarnya. My PC was Osfyr. Soraphine, traumatized halfling bard. Azalea, human fighter. Durzuell, haughty high elf sorcerer. James, nerdy half elf wizard. Drago, erratic Russian dragonborn monk. Kairon, slightly edgy ranger/paladin (but we love him).
Nordenheim. My PC was Cap. I will admit: we only played 2 or 3 sessions, so I don’t really remember  most of the other party members except Rory, a fire genasi ranger who almost burned to death.
Silas v2 (hopefully will continue; I DMed): Kysseris IV. Half-elf paladin, uptight. Tower 1-6, warforged wizard who crawled out of the desert and is looking for info on how he was made. Mae “Pock”, gnome rogue, very small and  sweet. Josh, human trickery cleric, kind of an asshole, but in a way that’s funny and hasn’t bled over into IRL annoying.
[school] West Marches campaign (Ner): by the nature of West Marches, there was never a consistent party, but a few stood out to me. Red Foot, a hyperactive kobold sorcerer who’s level 8 against all West Marches odds. Lyra, Great Old One warlock of Tzee’Mhor, an abomination goat that a party I was in accidentally created. Fildo Baggins, divination wizard who can only affect allies whose toenail clippings he has in his vial.
15. Do you have snacks during game times?
Hell yeah babey!!! I mostly play digitally, especially during COVID, and I need something to munch after DMing for a while. Shit’s exhausting.
16. Do you play online or in person? Which do you prefer?
Welp! Online mostly, since everyone I want to play with has the audacity to live far away, and now exclusively online because of COVID.
17. What are some house rules that your group has?
Our Amnesia party is so rich that we just don’t keep track of money. In Kithan, a lot of rules that make characters less powerful are just… abolished (like the bonus action spell rule). (The DM likes super OP characters so she can throw SUPER OP monsters at us.  My character has a necklace that gives 5 additional uses of channel divinity.)
18. Does your party keep any pets?
Nope. No opportunities for them. Zize’s party has a little water snake on the druid’s arm but I doubt that will last very long.
19. Do you or your party have any dice superstitions?
Absolutely. Cursed dice get j a i l.
20. How did you get into D&D? How long have you been playing?
Acarnya got me into d&d, it was my first campaign, and it was happening at the place I lived. I’ve been playing almost 2 years. (Critical Role inspired me to DM)
21. Have you ever regretted something your character has done?
Not sent a fucking letter to say goodbye to their boyfriend before the world-fate-deciding bullshit that was gonna happen and possibly destroy shit. It was fine in the end though!
22. What color was your first dragon?
Red. Man, that guy sucked, he almost killed Osfyr. We were investigating a monastery secretly run by dragons disguised as humans.
23. Do you use premade modules or original campaigns?
Original campaigns. I’ve never run a module before! I’m not opposed, but most of my campaigns came from ideas  that I had. I’ve never been short on ideas for a game.
24. How much planning/preparation do you do for a game?
As a player, I just open my character sheet and get out dice. As a DM, I try and think about what material I want to get through this session, and write some narration and/or stat things out if I feel like it.
For DMs
25. What have your players done that you never could have planned for?
A lot of times, Inferno has rushed into battle from what I’d built as a stealth mission, and gotten her ass and sometimes the party’s asses kicked. I should really have learned by now.
26. What was your favorite scene to write and show your characters?
Definitely Saela’s resurrection ritual and vision.
27. Do you allow homebrew content?
Yes! I’ll check it first,  but I’m all for expanding the boundaries. I homebrew items and monsters all the time, why shouldn’t my payers get to homebrew their shit?
28. How often do you use NPCs in a party?
Too often in my first arc. I had like 7 NPCs running around at all times (they were Carmilla characters). Super not recommended. I have 0 right now.
29. Do you prefer RP heavy sessions or combat sessions?
I’m still finding my groove with RP as a DM. I like encouraging my players to RP amongst themselves. I consider myself fairly good at combat on both sides of the equation, DM and player, so that’s always fun to me, especially when my players enjoy it too.
30. Are your players diplomatic or murder hobos?
I have one actively reforming murder hobo player, the rest are diplomatic. (The character, Inferno, is having a great growth arc. I’m super proud.)
For Players
31. What is your favorite class? Favorite race?
I fucking love genasi as a concept. Favorite class would have to be rogue or cleric, but gunslinger’s up there too.
32. What role do you like to play the most? (Tank/healer/etc?)
I  honestly don't have the patience to not play DPS. I love doing lots of damage. Healing is satisfying, support is satisfying, but there’s a reason I picked rogue twice and tempest cleric over other domains.
33. How do you write your backstory, or do you even write a backstory?
Sometimes the backstory is part of the character concept– especially for Pointy, because I had the name first, then went hmm why would she have this name. Almost always, though, more backstory gets written during the campaign when I have an idea. Sometimes a character will act in a way I don’t expect, and it’s fun thinking of a justification to fill backstory gaps.
34. Do you tend to pick weapons/spells for being useful or for flavor?
Mostly  usefulness honestly. I’ll make choices among several for flavor, but I’m a big proponent of using mechanics to build character. What I mean is, think about Magnus in TAZ Balance– his protection fighting style contributed a lot to the way Travis played him as a protective person. I love that shit.
35. How much roleplay do you like to do?
I like to do a lot, but unfortunately my  energy is pretty down lately so I haven’t been doing as much.

Female names- Hanalea Greymace, Tulin Silvervein, Delba Goldmantle. Male names-  Woll Fostpine, Mardyn Skymender, Gorn Grimheart. Halfling: A fast and simple language, tending to sound chittery and airy to others. It is often scattered with adopted Common words. Sylvan: A subtle and lilting language, often sounds unearthly - like a babbling brook, rustling branches, or singing rain. Spoken mostly by Dryads and Fey creatures, it sounds almost inhuman. It is a magical language, holding weight in its words. Common phrase: “Thuuig gu mathh” Meaning - “May your fate be well”. Often said to indicate the person wishes you well, but does not want to be involved themselves. The Sylvan word for their language is “Esspruar”. Session Recap 8/10/19: The Devil’s in the Details
Before setting out for the day, the party discussed their options for investigating what was going on with the workhouses. Ditto mentioned having known a member of the guard who’d seemed pretty fair when she’d last been in the city, but she had no idea if she was still around or employed in the same field. They also decided it would be worth trying some Sendings to some of the people they were looking for: Quest, since they’d only been told a Sending hadn’t worked on her a few days ago and hadn’t tried for themselves yet; and Joy, Tenny’s mother, since she had given a strong enough description for Ditto to try to reach her.
“Hey Quest,” Ditto sent first, “Are you okay? Where are you? We’re looking for you. Squall’s worried. I’m Ditto, by the way, Amaranth’s friend.”
Instead of the echo of her words she usually felt when Sending, though, it felt like the spell hit something and bounced off, returning to her instead of making its way to Quest. Something was blocking the magic.
She tried a second casting, this time to Tenny’s mother. “Hey, Joy, right?” she opened. “I’m with Tenacity. Are you okay? Where are you? We’re looking for you and would like to help you.”
The same strange blocking effect happened with this message as well. The party suspected this confirmed that both Quest and Joy were being held in the same place, surrounded by some kind of ward.
When the party headed downstairs, they found an elderly bugbear woman near the desk complaining to Ben about the bone rain. On seeing the party, she got a glint in her eye and commented that they looked like the type of people used to dealing with nasty things. She asked if they wanted to clear a bunch of bones out of the cellar of her inn, offering 400gp for completing the task. The party said they might be interested later, but needed to run some errands first. Voski also pointed out she’d rather not do it with a small child in tow, gesturing to Tenny.
“Where are you keeping it?” she asked Amaranth, before handing the child half of a pear she’d plucked off of the inn lobby’s new magic tree.
The group decided Tiktik would stay behind to watch Tenny. Erwyn tentatively asked if she’d like some kind of book while they were gone and Tenny told him she couldn’t read. They told the old bugbear woman they would be in touch, although Kriv also surreptitiously tried using his Divine Sense on her, to no avail. However, he did notice she was wearing a pendant bearing the symbol of Grankhul, one of the bugbear gods. He said a pleasantry in goblin to her and she nodded approvingly after a beat of surprise.
The first place the party headed after leaving the inn was to go see Knife, as Ditto wanted to check in on him after the bone rain. When they entered, he was blowing into a small pennywhistle attached to a bellows on his shoulder -- as he had once been advised that whistling was a good way to keep one’s morale up. Ditto asked if he’d seen the bones and he said that he’d been able to lock things up and fend off most that got inside. The others that got indoors apparently had lost their animating magic when the sun came up, and he said he’d put them in a jar. Ditto also told him that the party had learned demons were possessing people around the city, and she wanted to warn him in case any came into his shop and tried to hurt him. He assured her that he was very strong and made of metal, which meant he could fend off combatants fairly easily.
Knife brought down the jar of bones that he’d collected, after politely asking the party if they would like to see. He handed it to Voski first, but she passed it off to Erwyn right away. As he looked inside, he noted that the bones seemed to be those of rodents, but with strange elements of weirdness, like jutting pieces or atypical fangs. A couple members of the group mused that it must have been sunlight that neutralized them, since the bugbear they’d talked to earlier had implied the bones in her cellar were still active. Ditto suggested that Knife name the bones either a Gnomish word for “rascal” or “Bonesey.” He liked the latter. Before leaving, Voski purchased some ox bones from him.
The group next headed to the Slumbering Grell, where they were greeted by Kenska once more. Her strange stole-like pet seemed to be nesting in the chandelier. It scuttled off and fetched Squall after the party explained they were there for a visit, and when she came downstairs she seemed to be looking better than the party had seen her previously. The party quietly explained what Tenny had told them. She examined the dagger and confirmed it was one of Quest’s. She was also furious to hear about the mercenaries.
Amaranth took the opportunity to attune to Quest’s dagger in the inn and Squall lead the party up to her room to spend the hour in a safe location. They also discussed some of what was going on in the city -- namely why someone might be interested in collecting tieflings. Voski asked Erwyn if he thought there was a planar element to it. He said he didn’t know of anything for certain, but that with their devilish ties it was possible tieflings could be of interest to demons. Voski suggested trying to contact the DPL member Erwyn had mentioned being more sympathetic towards him, who was a tiefling himself, but Erwyn was still somewhat hesitant to engage with the organization at all.
After attuning, Amaranth had a better idea of the dagger’s properties: it would do extra cold damage, and could be drawn to extinguish non-magical flames. She tried giving it a spin so it could show the direction of the fire dagger it was linked to. It pointed north, either at a place nearby or in the wealthy part of town. The party then bid Squall farewell and decided to head that direction to see where it lead.
They moved slowly away from the inn, Amaranth stopping periodically to spin the dagger on the ground again to triangulate. It started to point more northwest as they crossed the river, and seemed to be indicating an area near the mayor’s home. There was a road near the house by some public gardens that the party thought they could investigate fairly surreptitiously. The home was heavily guarded. Voski recalled that when she had last been in Veritas the mayor was a half-human, half-halfling man named Aston Tweedbrink, who was said to be something of a pushover put in power by the guild leaders.
In order to give Amaranth an opportunity to try spinning the dagger near the house, Ditto started giving a very false informative speech about the area, reading off some nearby plaques as if she was giving a tour to the others.
Amaranth took the chance to look for Thieves’ Cant messages around the building and spotted some symbols noting the guards had been doubled recently, and another symbol noting a “bad dog” which implied there was some kind of nasty animal on guard duty as well. This one had been quadruple underlined.
She spun the dagger  once more and noticed it pointing at an outbuilding in the back of the estate. When she and Erwyn looked closer at it, they saw some very large creature inside that seemed to be spooking some of the horses in a mundane stables nearby.
As the party retreated back towards the park, Voski stopped a wealthy-looking human couple and asked them if Mayor Tweedbrink was still in office. The woman commented that he was, but sniffed that she didn’t think he’d done a very good job of handling the crisis. She mentioned that there was another election coming up soon and she hoped they could replace him with a more suitable candidate. Voski graciously thanked the couple and took her leave.
As they walked away, the group talked about their strategy if they intended to go to the workhouse. Voski suggested that they might not want everyone to go in, mentioning Kriv was the most law-abiding-appearing of the group. Ditto wanted to try using Detect Thoughts once inside, but some of the others thought the risk of getting caught trying to cast a spell near the guards was too high. On the other hand, Amaranth thought the whole idea was too dangerous, but they should get as much information as they could if they were going to try anything. They decided whoever went in would ask about Joy, rather than Quest, since it seemed they were probably in the same place and asking around too much about Quest had put Squall in danger.
The workhouse looked to have been quickly but sturdily constructed in the wake of the disaster. On the roof were some vaguely humanoid stone statues that seemed to be watching the city. Ditto peered at them and recognized that they were likely enchanted in some way. There were two guards standing outside: one human, and one uncomfortable-looking drow.
Voski and Amaranth broke off from the others to stand back by the elephant statue in the square nearby, and Ditto, Kriv, and Erwyn approached. They greeted the guards and said they were looking for a friend of a friend. The human was grumpy about it, but the drow seemed excited to have an excuse to go inside and said she would check on things for them.
The drow emerged eventually and said that the clerk was fine with them coming in to ask about their friend, and that she would be happy to accompany them in. As they entered, Kriv waved cheerfully at the other grumpy guard outside. The drow seemed amused. She lead them past a couple of corridors and into an office where an orc clerk was scribbling away doing paperwork. They relaxed somewhat as they put down their quill when the party entered. Kriv explained they were looking for information on Joy, and Ditto supplemented with some identifying information.
The clerk informed them they would have to sign a release of information form before they could disclose anything. Kriv accepted the paper and put his own information down. The clerk filed this away in a large chest full of papers. They noted that there were many records in the room, and it would take a while to find what the group was looking for.
A few moments of awkward silence followed as the clerk began searching. “So, what did you think of the rain of bones?” the drow guard eventually said, leaning over to Kriv.
He started chatting with her amicably about the rain the previous night, which turned to light conversation about her personal life. She was younger, and hoping to save up enough money working in Veritas to go home to the Underdark. Ditto chimed in as well as the conversation continued. The drow mentioned a Warden Blackthorn who was in charge of this workhouse, and apparently rather new. She said that she certainly had a vision for the place, and that this used to be a better job. Apparently Blackthorn had come into power just after the disaster, when a group called the Raliv Mercantile Company gave the city generous funding for recovery efforts but insisted some of their own people take part in the rebuilding.
The orc clerk eventually seemed to find what they were looking for and brought it back to the desk. They explained that Joy had been admitted to pay off some debts some time ago, before being transferred to a different work crew not under the workhouse’s jurisdiction on Shainath 33rd. They insisted it was out of their own hands to give them any more information.
“Unless…” they said, and trailed off a little, shaking their head. Ditto pried a little further, and the clerk explained their only other recourse would be to talk to some of the company representatives, but they were pretty intense.
Ditto flew up to the desk height and asked if she could ask the clerk something confidentially. She said they’d heard rumors it wasn’t a good time to be a tiefling around the workhouse, and the clerk looked incredibly nervous. Kriv used his Divine Sense and detected an area of apparently empty space behind the orc, on top of one of the tall chests, that pinged his senses as a fiend. He put a hand on Ditto’s shoulder and said he thought they had enough. As they went to leave, the clerk told them to be careful, insisting they just did the paperwork. Now that he was aware of the fiendish presence, Kriv noticed the clerk’s eyes were flicking to that same part of the room. On the way out, he asked the drow guard her name, which she said was Valdë.
Once they were a good distance away, he told Ditto and Erwyn there had been an invisible fiend in the room. They then went to find Voski and Amaranth, who had been enjoying themselves watching the chaos caused by the Hour of Verity that enforced truth-telling by the elephant statue every noon. Kriv checked one more time with his Divine Sense to make sure they hadn’t been followed, but didn’t get anything else. He and Ditto filled the others in on what they’d learned.
When Kriv asked if anyone was familiar with the Raliv Mercantile Company, Erwyn, who had been incredibly quiet for a bit, finally spoke up and said he thought he might know something. The party decided to head back to their rooms to speak. Once there, Voski took a few minutes to put up a Tiny Hut.
After things were all set up, Erwyn admitted he hadn’t heard of the company name specifically, but he though he might know someone connected to it. He said that while it might seem odd, he thought the fiend Kriv had sensed must have been a devil, not a demon. He explained that inside the workhouse, he’d realized “Raliv” was “Vilar,” backwards, which lead him to believe the company was affiliated with Esmeralda Vilar, the cult leader of Glasya he’d mentioned to Voski back in Wayspell. And while that might be shoddy evidence on its own, he was more inclined to believe it thanks to the prophecy he’d received during the Gatekeeper’s trials.
“You’ve talked before about getting in trouble poking your nose into places, is this one of those things?” Kriv asked.
“I poke my nose lots of places, and it’s usually a bad idea,” Erwyn said.
He insisted he’d never had any intention of joining the cult, only stopping them, but had done some very amateur investigation into their affairs before. Erwyn added that while they likely weren’t devils themselves, he had reason to believe they had connections to some devilish help, likely even that of their archdevil patron.
Trying to fit all the pieces together, the group talked about what they knew. Demons were obviously active in the city, and now it looked likely that devils were too. There was obviously something to the forgotten god of the city, but they didn’t know if she was truly benevolent or if she secretly belonged to either of the fiendish factions -- or if they were warring over different things entirely, as demons and devils still had plenty of reason to do so. And all the while, people were going missing throughout the city for reasons they still didn’t understand.

Hm, yes, definitely DnD stuff because man. I like my group~ In fact.. I'm just gonna talk about my group!
I... Don't know how to read more on mobile so sorry, I'll see if I can edit it later?
3 of us DM, so we alternate. Well, it started off with just 1, then I wanted to start a story and like... Make a comic or something with the characters and ideas I have (which... Hasn't really gone anywhere) and was gonna DM to pick up while our usual DM, Jon, was real busy with schoolwork while also getting material for fleshing out my world and whatnot. Also to get better at talking and decision making hopefully. And our 3rd DM, Billy, recently started because he too had a story he wanted to tell~ And to try out ideas for like.. Rules he think would be cool.
So Jon DMs a group on Fridays mainly, so his gf can play too, but it's a bit on and off because he graduated and has work now alongside still making projects with his team, so less time for brainstorming and the like. His story has stuff to do with a cult and dreamscapes and whatnot. Deep dungeon crawling in the dream, while having more RP focus in the waking world. I play as the current party's bard, a College of the Maestro (homebrew subclass made by Matt Mercer) human named Leiris! I usually play tanky charactera or some kind of magic melee, so doing a pure support kind of playstyle to try new things. She's.. Kind of a merchant? Because she's paying off her college debt and being from the big trade city, it was the best route in her mind? Even if her 7 Wisdom has caused troubles for the Lifguards... Which is our group name we decided on 2 sessions ago that also consists of: Cade a Divination Wizard halfling, Nimbus the Dragonborn Tempest Cleric, a very... Assassins Creedy rogue named Brock, and a couple of temp? Members of some other friends that may or may not be able to join with us long term, so we'll see how that goes. As it is apparent, we are very magically inclined and also squishy! The frontline is the healer! Legitimate fun times! This is a sorta AU to when we played this campaign like.. Last year with mostly different people. Same world, different characters, different part of the continent.
Billy's campaign, is pretty fresh and interesting in a different way so far! We started off already as apprentices to the elite royal task force (at level 4 already!) of the dragonborn kingdom, and had to fight each other to determine our rankings. I play as a Half-Orc Half-Tiefling Ancestral Guardian Barbarian, Rux! Who is... Uhh. Well not to get flagged but he picked up a side job as a certain kind of entertainer. A good lovable idiot strongboy. I have 2 main spirits that I converse and battle with, 1 from each parent's ancestry. I have yet to go further in detail in game, but I really like what I came up with. Recently, Rux has gotten a cursed axe (that I as a DM already knew what it was, but y'know. Gotta play off character knowledge. And he's an idiot) soo, this'll turn out interesting. I ended up in last place on the rankings, since only 3 of us could make it to the first session and I had to fight the Shadow Sorcerer the first round and missed every attack the second round... But have now risen to rank #2! My boss (well, King Sebastian is my boss per say but I call #1 boss) is Gladiolus, a devoted Paladin and a Blue dragonborn. Our 3rd in command and mage of the group is Durza, the Shadow Sorcerer. He... Is quiet and... Doesn't do well with people but takes orders. So once he ended up melting a door to get into one of our houses to start training off early. But we also have Veraladaine, the elven Ranger~ Sounds majestic, but is a klutz. She's had some irl stuff recently, so Vera had been sick for a while. And finishing up or ranks is Ooguay, a tortle Tranquility Monk. Who is the old man. But man. What a guy. We're currently doing a trial, so we're in seperate gauntlets of monster filled rooms, and Rux is very.. Draw aggro from allies focused, so I can't do much fancy stuff class stuff for now. But ah well.
And lastly, my campaign! Which at this point is the longest running one, but it's been on and off for a month at a time once before? But it's consistant now that I have 2 weeks to prep instead of 1! The gang is on a mission to stop the personified seven deadly sins (devil based... Demigods basically?). At the moment, they've killed Gluttony and have arrived at the capital, where they hear another has surfaced. We have, Leroy J Kins a Lizardfolk Barbarian who is the most fleshed out joke character, I love him. Plus he gave juicy backstory that fit with what I had planned, so that's real nice~. He started out unable to rage (by his player's choice) since he had a second personality, Roy, who is basically his Fight of fight or flight instinct. They've meshed together well by now. Mercy, an elven Rogue who has 2 crossbows and loudly asked the group if they knew the assassin's guild in the middle of a tavern! A badass otherwise, who loves her eversmoking bottle and 40 lbs of soap in her bag of holding. Kiri, who got... Most of them to join the adventering guild they're a part of. Kiri is a Kitsune Storm Sorcerer who is a bit like... Steve Irwin?, but with strange creatures. Sorta? Also a mischevious prankster and problem instigator. Raised an awakened plant from a magic pot (after it grew for a month) and called Leroy the father when it asked last game. Naomi is the.... Either mom, secretary, or logical backbone of the group. An Aasimar Scout (rogue subclass), she wears a mask, is very sciency and experiments (mostly harmlessly) on Leroy whenever she finds weird fruit or plants. Vinnie Vin, their somewhat recently picked up Tabaxi swordbard, who sleeps on Leeroy's head/shoulders half the time because Vinnie small, Leroy tall and big. Goes nya, has a thirst for blood, and whaps foes with a shillelaghed bandora before stabbing them. One player has switched characters a lot, but because he is infrequent and keeps wanting to play different things (also kind of annoys the other players, but I try to keep group discourse low)... But the last member is a... Companion that they run into often. It is her! Domino! A Paladin! (Players found out later that her last name is Ap'al'yden, and lost their shit) a drow Paladin of Edesia's Banquet, who is on pilgramage and helps out whenever they need it (when her player can make it). The church she was a part of got taken over by Gluttony from the inside, and she's the last member to her knowledge... Has a thing for the queen of the kingdom (...Queendom? Since theres no king, the Queen leads alone with chairmen and advisors of course), since she served as a palace guard for a while before setting out. The group has also been traveling with a Silver dragon Leroy named Argent that they saved from a Necromancer (trying to turn it into a dracolich to control), an armoured slime they refer to as Blue Squishy, who communicated via gestures and charades before Leroy found a ring that let them communicate telepathically, their cart driver (who is also a guild member) Dave, and now an awakened shrub.
.....I'm real attached to my session for obvious reasons... I'm running it, we've been playing it the longest, and good party interactions~ I mean to make them kinda OP, as a sort of.. Laid back romp through things kind of session. And they enjoy it! Feels great~
....this got real long whops.

in this time of need i bring you all some slightly terrible crack crossover
bc I can’t handle the two-week wait and I know another group that’s missing someone significant, too.
--
Two days gone, and there’s still no sign of Fjord, Jester, or Yasha.
It’s not that Molly’s getting antsy, it’s just—he feels stretched thin, maybe, keeping the panic and rage clawing at his ribcage from bursting out, spilling all over the others. No reason to blame them, as much as he wants to, because the moment the three had stepped beyond the boundaries marked off by Caleb’s silver thread—
He shivers at the thought, and wonders. All he and Beau had found were remnants of tracks, like someone had hidden their trails well, and blood spatter. They’d fought back. But if they had fought back there should’ve been noise. (Unless they had a silencing spell in place, Caleb had said, his face pale and drawn, guilt written all over it.)
Anyway. He’s not. He’s not antsy. He’s worried.
“You’re getting antsy,” says Beau, as they come to another fork in the road. Everyone’s quiet lately, reluctant to leave each other alone—Nott’s practically attached to Caleb’s side, Beau refuses to leave Molly alone, Caleb’s double-looping the silver thread around their campsite every night, and Molly’s heart keeps beating double-time against his chest when he can’t see one of the other three. “It’s not a good look on you.”
“I’m not antsy,” Molly shoots back, drawing his coat tighter around himself. Yasha had left her book, her silk flower. Molly’s stowed it away, because she’ll want it back soon, he knows. “I’m just wondering how we’re going to tell Jester we ate all her donuts.”
“Don’t bullshit me, Molly,” says Beau, rough as always. “We’re all antsy, and I know I’m not at my best right now, but at least I’m fucking honest about it to myself.”
Molly purses his lips, then sighs. “They can take care of themselves,” he tries out. It sounds hollow, even to him.
“They tried, and look what happened,” says Beau. “We’ve got to find them.”
“How?” says Molly, letting the cheer drop. “We don’t have leads. We don’t know where to even start. We can’t even send a message to them, because Jester’s the one with Sending, and she’s not here. Exactly how are we supposed to find them?”
“I could Send,” Caleb says, from the back of the cart, and Molly startles bad enough that the horses stop abruptly. “I just need a finer copper wire than the one I have.”
“So we stop off in town and see if there’s any fine copper wire around,” says Molly, grabbing hold of that fine thread of hope. The Gentleman’s deadline still pulses in the back of his mind, but frankly, fuck that. Right now, they have their friends to find.
It’s a start.
--
“What do you mean you know nothing, Turk?” comes a woman’s angry voice, when the four of them enter the shop.
Molly stops in place, and tilts his head curiously towards what looks like another group of customers: a pale half-elf woman in dark leathers, a bald human male with a bright yellow cloak, a halfling man with sun-bleached hair and a staff, a drow elf woman dressed in the colors of the Everlight, a human male shorter than the other one with dark hair and clothes close to Beau’s in all but color, and a tall woman with golden, near-white hair and a firearm holstered on her hip.
“I mean there ain’t anything!” says the shopkeeper, a half-orc with a busted lip. He holds his hands up. “I don’t know anything!”
“Bullshit you don’t,” says the half-elf, starting forward. “You know fucking everything.”
Beau, not very discreetly, pushes herself up on her tiptoes to see the woman better.
The drow elf’s hand rests on her friend’s, and she says, “Jess. Jess.”
“He knows where Trish is!” snaps the woman, named Jess, apparently. Molly holds his arms out to keep his friends from going anywhere, puts fingers to his lips, and motions to Nott.
Nott nods, shooting Caleb a glance. She ducks behind a shelf, and the three of them follow behind her.
“—his shop is not going to help,” one of them’s saying. (Caleb murmurs, “The one with the firearm.”)
“It isn’t worth it, Jess,” says another. (Caleb whispers, “The monk.”) “If he won’t say where Colleen and Trish and Matt are, we can ask someone else.”
“Fuck no it won’t,” says the shopkeeper. “I’m just trying to scrape on by, fellas. Nothing wrong with that, right?”
“Turk, your idea of scraping by includes selling drugs and forbidden magical weapons to any schmuck who can scrape together a couple of gold coins,” says another. (“Yellow hood man?”) “We just need to know what the hell is going on, and why people are disappearing. We figured you might have some idea.”
“I’m tellin’ you now I don’t,” says Turk. (Caleb frowns, and whispers, “Nott thinks he’s lying.”)
“Sure about that?” says another voice, light and almost musical in quality. (“Halfling.”)
“I got a lot of things on my mind, and you sure aren’t giving me any reason why I should recall anything about your buddies,” says Turk. “If, of course, I knew anything.”
“I knew he was going to say that,” grumbles Jess.
“But you know something?” says the monk, hope in his voice. It wrenches something in Molly’s chest.
“Hey, Turk,” says the drow elf, “how many times have I kept your dumb ass from bleeding out?”
“Uh,” says Turk. “Dunno. A lot?”
“Keep that in mind,” says the drow elf, “because I’ll ask again, what do you know about Matt and Trish?”
“Nothing I can tell you, sorry,” says the half-orc, sounding so goddamn fucking smug that Molly can’t help but want to shake him. These people’s friends are missing, he wants to snap. Do you not have any shred of a conscience in your entire goddamn body? “Isn’t Murdock, y’know, dead?”
The halfling makes a strangled noise.
The woman with the firearm says, her tone flat, “We’re starting to think otherwise. Turk—”
“If you ain’t here to buy or sell anything,” Turk says, “then I think you’d better get on out of my shop, right?”
Molly huffs out a breath, then makes a decision.
He struts out from hiding and says, with a deceptive amount of cheer, “Lovely place you’ve got here, Mister—Turk, wasn’t it?”
The entire group startles, Turk included, and in a flash Molly’s staring down a staff, a glowing fist, a non-glowing fist, a dagger, a pistol, a pointed finger crackling with divine energy, and Turk’s crossbow. He’s not worried, though, because he hears the sound of footsteps behind him, the crackling of fire and the winding sound of Nott’s crossbow.
He flashes them a smile and says to Turk, “We’re all friends here, aren’t we? And it just so happens my friends and I need a little help too.”
“Why should I help?” snaps Turk. “Between you and these Defenders over here, I should just throw you all out of the store.”
“Because I have ten gold, three missing friends, and very little patience left for you,” says Molly, flashing his fangs and letting one hand fall to the hilt of Summer’s Dance. Turk actually steps back a little, as the weapons in (and represented in) the Defenders’ hands shift away from him to the half-orc. “Come on, now. Wouldn’t you say it’s much more profitable to have ten gold for almost nothing more than some words, than to hang on to them and lose quite a lot more than ten gold?”
Turk looks at him. Then at Beau, Caleb, and Nott. Then at the Defenders.
He gulps.
--
“So,” says the halfling, whose name is apparently Foggy, as the ten of them step out of the shop. “You’ve got friends missing too?”
“Yeah,” says Beau. “Three.”
“Three, we thought one was dead until his mom sent a message about how he’d been kidnapped,” says Foggy. “We’ve got some leads, but—well, nothing concrete so far. Not even what Turk’s given us is reliable, the guy’s kind of well-known for putting his own skin above everyone else’s.”
“I noticed,” says Molly. “But that’s a lot more than what we have, currently. We could, perhaps, help each other out.” He smiles and adds, “If, of course, you’re amenable to that.”
Jess says, flatly, “There a catch?”
“We just want to find our friends,” says Caleb. “That is all. And, I think, it would be more advantageous, for all of us, should we work together. Ja?”
Luke, the bald man in the yellow cloak, shrugs and says, “I wouldn’t say no. Neighborhood’s getting more and more dangerous, and with Matt missing, Danny and I are getting pretty stretched.” He sighs, says, “What with everything going on, and this war, it’s getting harder to follow up on leads.”
The other human, Danny, says, “We have some idea who might be responsible, though.” He huffs out a breath, and says, “What do you know about the Tomb Takers?”
Molly stands up straighter, and says, “Who?”

Dancing Drow and a Scorpion Wizard
After assassinating Vlonwelv and her supporting cast, the party hides out in the apartment where they stayed the night before. Without too much disruption, they are able to refresh and recharge. During that night, Tossa feels compelled to tell Q about how she tried to talk to Ghorn and apologizes. Q also realizes that her unnatural attachment to Top might be form of madness that he is able to cure with a restoration spell. Everyone calls it a night.
The next morning, Top is surrounded by Ghorn's fur and the writing says "Kill him or he will kill her as he killed me" signed Pon. Talking without Ilokoris, the party talks about coming clean with regards to Rex, although they argue about when would be a good time to do that. They simply decide on "not yet". They leave the Drow folks they helped with the halfling quintet and head out to finish off Muiral.
Instead, they find a room with two, giant-sized and deformed Drow attempting to dance without music. Sychor sneaks around until it seems they are aware of him and he bails. They do not follow. In the next room they find a statue of a beautiful elven maiden bathed in moonlight and two locked doors. Not sure what to do, they move on.
In another room, they stumble upon the corpse of some dwarves and then observe a mystical replay of what happened to them. They were apparently trying to escape Muiral who wiped them all out anyway. The party recognizes the leader as Falkir and realize they were asked to retrieve a gemstone he had stolen. Not finding that gemstone anywhere, Sychor decides that Falkir must have swallowed it and guts the corpse. Sychor is disturbed, but correct! Upon retrieving the gem (and a nifty boar's head helmet) he party moves on.
They come upon a room that has impenetrable blackness along one wall with the sounds of excessive oozing coming from inside. Simply avoiding this area, they move to the next room where there's a statue of a hooded male Drow. When Sychor moves past it, the statue animates, slashes Sychor and then returns to its previous state. To open the doors beyond, Sychor must smear blood on the doors and they open.
In the larger room they enter, they see spider designs for the balcony above and all the fixtures. Not to mention an enormous pile of bones in one corner. While the party investigates, four very large creatures formed from the bones emerge and begin moving toward the party. Q and Tossa move up to the balcony in hopes of providing help from above. After doing some significant damage to one of them without much effect, Ilokoris is engulfed! When he finally escapes, he and Top decide to try to kite the creatures while they pick away at them.
Top erects a stone box to contain some of the golems, but they eventually climb over the walls. She also creates a ramp for Sychor to use as quick access to the upper level.
Sychor attempts to help, but moves upstairs when he hears Tossa and Q fighting Muiral himself! After a first strike lightning bolt, Q and Tossa consume potions of lightning resistance and fight back. Muiral erects a wall of force to isolate Tossa and goes toe-to-toe with her for a few rounds. Tossa does go down at one point, but Q and Top keep her alive while she fights. Sychor is able to get a few hits in when Muiral begins a hit-and-run strategy that keeps his distance from the party.
Finally, Sychor is able to finish off the abomination and the party can catch its breath while they examine the rooms around the balcony. Not much is found besides some minor trinkets and a potion. While checking the last area, a large statue of Lolth mounted on the ceiling animates and attacks!
Will a party exhausted by an extended fight be ready for what this particular incarnation will do? Will they be able to find the exit before those dancing Drow find them? Will the Sing-Alongs ever sign a contract with Q and perform at the Brewding Spectre?

Are there materials in this world that hurt certain races? Like how in folklore iron burns fae? Any that affect the main cast members + Dee and Remus?
Of course there are! I'll go through the ones that effect each of the boys, since those are particularly relevant:
Virgil
(General notes on some Drow Biology)
His primary weakness is, of course, sunlight. Drow are naturally weaker in sunlight, and it's not just the fact that they can't see: their magic becomes harder to access, and all of their senses become duller, to a certain extent. Virgil is significantly weaker in bright sunlight then in the dark.
Virgil has most of the weaknesses typically ascribed to fae, as well. He wont drop and count every grain if you spill a bag of rice in front of him, but...
He can’t cross quick-running water
Pure iron hurts him
A circle of pure salt will trap him in place
He CAN lie, but it’s very very hard for him
He’s easily distracted by shiny/reflective things
He feels the pain of creatures and plant life in his general vicinity as if it were his own, ESPECIALLY when it is a creature he is particularly bonded with, like a friend, or literally any spider (they have an innate connection to drow, and vice versa)
He has allergic reactions of varying severity to plants like st. John's wort, four-leaf clovers, rowan, ash, mistletoe, holly, etc.
Names have power. He feels more attached to people who use his name frequently, and giving him commands by name compels him to listen to you (for this reason he does not like sharing his name, but yall didn't really give him a choice on that lmao)
Honey makes him slow and drunken, which is a weakness of all elves. Drow, specifically, are also inhibited by catnip and caffeine
Like Drow have a natural alluring quality to their music, music also has a natural control over them. Music can be used to control, sedate, and distract Drow very easily, and it’s very hard for them to resist the urge to sing and dance.
Certain flowers can often influence elves, including drow. If a daisy or pansy is slipped into an elf’s pocket or somehow worn by them, it usually makes them more trusting/friendly/open. Contact with a peony makes them violent. Contact with a forget-me-not makes them sleepy. And, while they bring good luck for other elves, if a drow is touched with foxglove, they will fall into a deep, unbreakable sleep...
Logan
As half-fae, Logan has some of the weaknesses fae have, but not all of them:
Pure iron irritates him, but won’t burn him.
He has light allergic reactions to the plants I mentioned
the honey and flower things are the same
(The rest that i mentioned in Virgil’s list don’t apply to him)
Patton
As a halfling, he’s not fae enough to experience the weaknesses other fae have. But, Hin do have a unique set of weaknesses all their own:
Generally speaking, aside from a few very specific exceptions, they do not feel fear. This can also be a strength, but fear is typically the impulse that.... keeps you alive? and away from danger? so...
there’s that Cheeese, which has a variant that specifically engineered to control halflings. Mind control drug cheese. its a very messy moment in history for them
Halflings are particularly susceptible to sleeping magic/drugs
Remus and Roman
...being the literal creations of a god/celestial, aasimar aren’t exactly made to have many weaknesses, BUT there are weaknesses that naturally come with Being Celestial
they naturally attract dangerous creatures like moths to a flame
For roman, there is the fact that he cannot break an Oath (Remus does not have this weakness anymore)
All Aasimar have physical tells from their Celestial parent that tag them as an Aasimar, and make it hard to disguise themselves!
Dee
considering he is some sort of human-snake-dragon thing, you dont know what the fuck is going on with him biologically. But, you have seen by now that he has
relatively poor hearing and eyesight on at least one side, and
a stiff and painful leg that slows movement down significantly in his humanoid form.

please 13 for the dnd asks!!
I’m so sorry this took so long! Honestly idk why it took so long…
13. Introduce your current party.
Considering this was asked before the Eberron campaign was even planned and also the Eberron campaign hasn’t started yet, I’ll go with the Second Breakfast Club gang! Ngl my descriptions of these characters might be bias based on how my own character sees them.
So let me start with my character: I play the drow rogue, Valas Telenna. He’s nonbinary, pansexual/panromantic, and polyamorous. He has roughly one-hundred years of angsty af backstory ‘cause I’m a piece of shit like that lmao. He’s also a piece of shit. He’s a chaotic neutral assassin who has good tendencies, though he won’t admit it. The good tendencies mostly come from the influence of the previous party he was a part of, as well as his childhood best friend and lover. He’s reckless, suicidal and often depressed. He struggles with self-harm and low self worth. Despite that he’s also cocky and vain af. He’s good looking and he knows it. He’s also extremely protective of those he cares about even if he thinks he doesn’t deserve to have those people in his life.
Now onto the rest of the party!
Firstly, Rihiri Valtari, played by @jellyfishlovesloki. Rihiri is a fucking goddess. My sis and I have discussed it and we’re pretty sure Rihiri’s the heart of the party atm. She’s a tiefling druid and currently in a friends with benefits relationship with Valas - She was probs the first he’s allowed in the party to call him Val without getting pissy at them. But like I said she’s a fucking goddess and she’s so kind but she’ll fucking cut you with her scythe in a heartbeat if you hurt someone she cares about or threatens them. Val finds her immensely attractive, obvs, but also as a shoulder to cry on when needed. He didn’t want to form a friendship with her (he doesn’t want to form attachments in general ‘cause angst and he’s a shit), but now after roughly a little over a year of knowing her, he can’t imagine his life without her. She travels with a sunbear (I had to google it to make sure I had the right bear) named Paz who loves honey. She’s also very good at throwing halflings.
Speaking of halflings: Bilbo Swaggins, played by @theoneandonlyfloozyjesus (tUMBLR WON’T LET ME @ YOU WHY). They’re… they’re quite interesting. They’re a halfling rogue - I believe an arcane trickster? I don’t really know anything about their backstory except they met Rihiri in a bar fight. Valas doesn’t know much about them either, which bugs him and makes him more inclined not to trust them. Though he had no real problem with Bilbo until Bilbo sTABBED him (and not in a fun way -wink wink nudge nudge- … -coughs- anyways). Bilbo’s also good at being thrown but not at landing lmao. They’re never gonna live that face plant down lmao. But yeah they’re quite the mystery. Val’s gonna kill me for admitting this but the fact that he knows jack shit about Bilbo actually really intrigues him and there’s moments when he finds that attractive but then Bilbo opens their mouth or gets drunk off their ass and the moment quickly fades lmaooooo.
Speaking of people Val is attracted to (the list is long): Zeager Steelheart, played by @nutellanewt. When I think of how quickly Val has fell for him, I like to think of him as Zaegar StealYourHeart. Y’get it? Lame joke but it forever makes me laugh. Zaegar is a shirtless half-orc monk. He’ll say he’s not attractive but Val very much begs to differ. He’s very kind, though I don’t know much about his backstory and him as a character. Valas doesn’t know much about him either and that bugs him but he’s afraid to ask, to get to know him better. He’s afraid to grow closer to him like he’s done with Rihiri because he swore to himself he wouldn’t get close to anyone again after some events in his past but oops he fucked up and grew close to Rihiri, he doesn’t want to fuck up again but gdi boy get some. -coughs- Imeanwut. Zaegar’s also like the king of flexing. It’s a guaranteed way to distract Val that isn’t used as often as it should be when Val’s about to make a bad decision. Zaegar and Rihiri are also basically the voices of reason or diplomacy in the group.
Then there’s Sefhana Brenlynn, a half-elf ranger played by my sis, @bxtgrl. While Zaegar and Rihiri are being diplomatic, Sef and Val are sassing the shit out of people, especially each other. Val doesn’t like her. She doesn’t like Val. It’s a mutual dislike. She’s become quite close to Rihiri (I ship it. I already multiship this fucking party guys send help I’m multishipping trash over here - as in the trash is me, not the ships or characters lmao). She travels with a white wolf named Echo that I’m surprised she doesn’t send to maul Val. I know Sefhana’s backstory only ‘cause I’ve read it, but Valas doesn’t know it. Again, he’s not inclined to trust people he knows hardly anything about but they’re breaking down his walls (I mean they also know jack shit about Val sooo -shrugs). He does trust Sefhana not to murder him in his sleep… At least while Rihiri’s around. Sefhana’s also badass. She killed a giant spider with her bow and arrows. She’s also an archer. So like instant brownie points there ‘cause I love archers ok. I don’t think she and Val will ever truly get along but I do hope they can come to some kind of mutual understanding of each other someday.
Onto the newest members of the party! (Both of these players don’t have tumblrs to @ that I’m aware of.)
Thursdorious Lightningborn (I hope I got that name right) is a dragonborn druid. I know… nothing about him? He owns a fat liger. I think he grew up with Rihiri. They seem like close friends which does spike some jealousy in Val because he wishes he could be that close to Rihiri without worrying about hurting her. Val also doesn’t like him strictly because he shoved Val off Rihiri’s lap. That was his first impression of Thursdorious and he hasn’t forgotten it. Val’s also not sure if Thursdorious is the sharpest tool in the shed, but Val’s a judgy shit sooo -shrugs-. Yeah I don’t know much about Thursdorious. He’s new to the party and while I hope he stays, Val doesn’t lmao. Sorry about Val.
Vox Forzare, the gnome wizard (please tell me I remembered that right. It’s late, I’m tired) played by the newest member of our campaign! He likes to light shit on fire lmao. I don’t know much about him because he’s fairly new. Val doesn’t know anything ‘cause they haven’t officially met but they’re not gonna like each other. Vox’s first impression of Val was when Val was under a wizard’s control and forced to attack his fellow party members only Vox doesn’t know Val was under a spell. I’m sure they’ll eventually become friends, but idk how long that might take. Definitely sooner than Sef and Val lmao.
