i would like to introduce you all to the family my friend and i have created through sheer love of these characters

ok like I'm sorry my brain is still stuck on this a month later and I know I am 100 percent projecting but...

there's just something about steve and eddie both being total fuck ups in different ways (eddie failing highschool, steve have rich parents but not going to college/ working minimum wage jobs), and actually being way sweeter then it first appears and both accidently on purpose adopting all the kids and idk i just want them to fall in love and move to a bigger city(and then maybe move back) and live life and adopt stray kids and like maybe the end of this fantasy is they basically end up that gay couple in But I'm a Cheerleader, but like dorkier and its beautiful.

When I was younger I used to get so pissed off by high-school aus specifically bc no matter where the original story takes place the au would always be set in an American high-school and American High schools confuse the hell out of me

one thing i really like so far about s6 - and maybe it’s too early to be saying this is a pattern - is the way that each episode has sort of honed in on one character specifically while giving hints to other characters’ future storylines as the backdrop. like, 6x01 was very much maddie’s episode with her returning to dispatch properly and her reconciling with chim. and 6x02 was obviously hen’s storyline with her two career paths finally crashing into each other and forcing her to reevaluate her life. based on bts info, interviews and promos it seems like 6x03 will be athena’s episode and 6x04 will be buck’s

and y’know, i think the show did a great job in 5b of pulling the focus back to the characters and consolidating the sense of family between the 118 after the disjointedness of 5a. and in doing that we for sure got some of the strongest character development we’ve seen from the show in a Long time (particularly in relation to eddie and bobby) and personally i just love that that seems to be continuing???? like, i’m actually really happy with the decision not to do an opening disaster and to use the emergencies to support the character storylines instead of the other way around??

again, it’s still v early days and things can definitely change but the way everything’s being set up right now has me so excited for every character’s storyline this season

#also don't get me wrong i Adore ravi and i really liked lucy based on everything we got in 5b #and i know they're only out rn bc of scheduling conflicts and i'm happy for them to come back!!!!#but there's been something very nice and cosy about how these past two eps have been very much focused on the core characters and showing us #lil dynamics we haven't seen in a while #like buck eddie and chim plotting together and being hen's cheerleaders #or just all the firehouse scenes in general actually #it's very nice :')#911 related #911 spoilers #911 season 6

Listen I know that gifted kid!Riley is not canon but also what if I infer it from basically nothing but my own conjecture and projections. She seems so ex-gifted kid and trying to get back onto the pedestal to me but she turned to cheerleading as an escape from the pressures of that but oops! actually it turns out it is just her and her strive to be perfect in everything. I fully believe that if Riley didn't turn to cheer and instead tried to be valedictorian of GCHS there would still be bloodshed

it always makes me sad when eddie scares the one girl in the cafeteria and is nice to the cheerleaders walking passed it seems he's only a gentlemen to pretty girls :/

That's a bit of a malicious reading, isn't it? The woman he purposely scares is old (or at least, older, a clear adult woman, not a student), and most likely a teacher or other authority figure- part of the Institution/System that Eddie is against and feels oppressed/hurt by. The girls he allows past with a small bow a second later are teens, and arguably victims of the same system as Eddie in a different way. At the very least, they are his peers, not one of his perceived oppressors.

Just read sonic's 900th adventure and it was really fun! It feels like we got a glimpse into his dynamic with a lot of characters all in one issue which is really cool. Also the art style changing every couple pages was really cool too

Overall a good celebration of sonic's adventures and the many friends he's made :]

the quintessential artist experience is hoping your loved ones have something, anything, positive to say about your work, only to get slapped in the face with nitpicks and criticisms. they're like "can I interest you in a cup of unsolicited criticism?," don't follow up with any good feedback, and then wonder why you struggle with horrendous self-doubt

Yesterday I showed my aunt a picture I did for a poster at the clinic, and all she had to say, literally the first thing out of her mouth, was "the nose is too round."

Too round??

I've noticed that's a pattern with her---I show her something I've done, and it's never good enough. In addition, she likes to remind me that I'm not a "real" adult (these bills would beg to differ).

Therefore, I've decided that, instead of letting such remarks fester inside until they result in depression, every time someone insults me, I will work 5% harder at my goals. I will not let others' pettiness and insecurity drag me down. That's not my problem to deal with.

okay i've finished rewatching pride now i will stop having feelings all over your dash

#this film is just. god. it means so much to me #it's such a well-made film but also it came out when i was 18 and like. idk.#i saw it 3 times the first year it came out #the third of them at a screening with one of the original members of LGSM doing a talk afterwards #i saw it at a time when i was just moving out of my conservative hometown and discovering queer community for myself #so it's like. formative. you know???#this is My Queer Movie #i have now seen some other Iconic Queer Movies thanks to undergrad queer film nights and stuff #things like But I'm A Cheerleader etc #but this one. this is mine.#i think because it's a queer movie about friendship and solidarity #it's about community rather than about romance even though it's about being queer #and for me as an aspec person that speaks to me in a way that romance-focused stories don't #so it resonates on a deeper level #to use a quaker phrase: it speaks to my condition #i wish i had more energy and could be more active in organising though #it's really hard to protest and be political when you're disabled and barely coping with life as it is #i can't go on a march because i won't be able to walk for four days afterwards due to pain yunno. so i feel useless a lot #ah well. i know there are things i can do they're just not glamorous #i do need to write to my MP some time soon about. everything.#personal
