This idea came because @thewolfprince left this in the Ditto Desmond idea:

I’ll be totally honest my brain saw “Desmond” and “Pokemon” and went “RATONHNHAKÉ:TON GETS DESMOND POKEMON COMPANION TOO???”

Here’s @thewolfprince’s Desmond as Altaïr’s Eevie/Sylvion fic based on this and this is the Desmond as Ezio’s Zoruark fic based on this.

I thought Ditto!Desmond would be better off as a Ditto masquerading as a trainer so here’s Ratonhnhaké:ton getting Desmond as a different Pokemon instead.

He had heard of the Disaster Pokemon.

Everyone had.

Many were afraid of it.

Many say that it brings catastrophe wherever it goes.

To see it would mean it was there to bring pain and suffering.

But Ratonhnhaké:ton’s village did not believe that.

Absol wasn’t the bringer of disasters.

He was the herald.

He was the crier.

He was there to warn those who would be affected.

He was there trying to save them.

“Ratonhnhaké:ton, what’s wrong?” One of his playmates asked when he didn’t move.

He should be closing his eyes so his friends could hide.

“We need to go.” Ratonhnhaké:ton said as he continued to stare at those clear blue eyes.

Eyes begging him to understand.

One of his friends turned to where he was staring at and gasped, “It’s a shiny Absol!”

All of the children ran towards them to look at the Pokemon standing a few meters away from them, his white fur and red skin contrasting the trees between them.

“We need to go!” Ratonhnhaké:ton shouted at his friends.

The Absol nodded slightly and Ratonhnhaké:ton could feel something inside him tell him.

Go home.

Tell mother.

Save the village.

“The village is in trouble!” Ratonhnhaké:ton shouted and began to ran. The other children ran as well, following Ratonhnhaké:ton.

They all remember their parents’ words…

“If you see an Absol, return to the village and tell everyone to ‘run’.”

I was debating if he should have a Braviary!Desmond but an eagle motif Pokemon feels like it should be all of his ancestors’ Pokemon or, being my bias, Altaïr’s Pokemon.

Then I thought of making Desmond one of my favorite Pokemon, Froslass, and idea was Ratonhnhaké:ton would try to cross a mountain during a severe snowstorm and loses his consciousness on the way, the last thing he sees being a Froslass who brings him to an abandoned cabin deep into the forest but then I remember @saberamane suggesting Absol to be part of Desmond’s Pokemon team and I couldn’t resist XD

ohhhhhh my god i love you now i get to rant about my novel

Fantasy Lesbians is the working title for a fantasy novel I’m working on and holy shit is it my biggest, proudest project. I don’t even know where to begin LMAO

So the protagonist is 16-year-old Amara Rose (he/she), an average kid who lives on Cinderbane Mountain with her guardian, a Dryad named Anithea (they/them), her toddler sister named Fenix, who is an Ardeyad (fire elemental, like dryad and naiad but spicy), and a small population of Naiads and Humans. She also has a pet Fellclaw, a species I invented solely for the purpose of her having one named Snapdragon who is the absolute best boy I love him. (Fellclaws are very complicated and vary by subspecies but Snapdragon is basically a giant cat with massive fangs and tufted ears and fur that can change colour on command. he also has a prehensile tail and his snout is longer than a cat’s. I haven’t finalized the design but them’s the vibes)

Anyway, the year Fenix was born/formed it’s wack don’t get me started, they experienced a loss and they’re still recovering from it. Amara in particular is Not Having A Good Time. However, she does not get the time to grieve properly because this group of rag tag disasters from other worlds appear with no idea how or why they got there except that a giant, scary beast told them to find her. This group of disasters embark on a journey to hone magic potential they didn’t realise they had- all but Amara, who doesn’t have the potential to be a Caster but does have some wack ass abilities left to her by the one she lost...it’s complicated, again, I don’t wanna make the longest post ever. Their goal? To defeat a conquerer from another world, a fierce Caster named Aella who is not fucking around and is the first person in known history to access the Space Between, a world-between-worlds if you will that serves as a connection point between every other world in existence.

(also it’s called fantasy lesbians because amara is a lesbian swordswoman and her love interest is Roxanne (she/her), a poet with a penchant for reckless heroics. Roxy is actually bisexual but i named it before i figured that out lmao)

so yeah, that’s the basics!! i have a ton of worldbuilding left to do although i’ve done a lot already and oh my god there is so much plot and so many characters, i am so fucking excited. im OBSESSED.

I sent the Desmond as an eevee ask (your reply to that was v cool) but I just realized that there's a red and white pokemon that's in lore dead to throw Desmond's consciousness into the hisuan forms of zorua and zoruark they even have golden eyes and can make illusions like an apple

Ooohhhhh.

A Hisuan form of Zorua and Zoroark would be certainly be a fun idea for a Pokemon!Desmond.

For one main reason: the Hisuan Zorua/Zoroark is a Normal/Ghost type which means we can make this a reference to how Desmond died in AC3! XD

No, but in all seriousness…

Here are the pokedex entries of the Hisuan Zorua:

A once-departed soul, returned to life in Hisui. Derives power from resentment, which rises as energy atop its head and takes on the forms of foes. In this way, Zorua vents lingering malice.

And of a Hisuan Zoroark:

With its disheveled white fur, it looks like an embodiment of death. Heedless of its own safety, Zoroark attacks its nemeses with a bitter energy so intense, it lacerates Zoroark's own body.

This means if Sylveon!Desmond is a Pokemon created out of love and friendship.

Zoroark!Desmond is a Pokemon made of pain and spite.

In this scenario, the Brotherhood and the Order would have rumors of a Pokemon that haunts the Templar Order, using the shadows to stay hidden and attacking Templars when their guards are down.

No one knows what the Pokemon is but many say they see a flash of white and red… like it was bleeding.

And the Pokemon does not inflict wounds or make the Templars bleed.

No.

It weakens the Templars and their Pokemons to the point that they become easy targets for the Assassin Brotherhood.

The Pokemon does not show itself to the Brotherhood and it’s up to them and their Pokemons to investigate if any Templars are being haunted by the Pokemon of Misfortune.

And, in one of the many investigations that Altaïr conducted.

He sees it.

Just for a brief moment.

White and red.

With golden eyes…

That looked blank and seemingly far away…

So in this case, Desmond would be in a state of trance. His mind having been broken by both dying and becoming a Pokemon. He’s moving by instincts, attacking people he remembers being Templars. And it’s up to one of the main Assassins (like maybe Altaïr? Or, since Sylveon!Desmond is focused on Altaïr, Ezio or Ratonhnhaké:ton?) to snap him out of the trance by the power of friendship! Aka: capturing him and taking care of him until he starts to snap out of the trance.

Because of the trance, Desmond is only a Zorua at the moment and he’ll evolve after snapping out his trance then getting the proper care and training he needs to understand what it means to be a Pokemon.

OR!

To make it more 'dramatic'. While in a trance, Desmond is a Zoroark but when the trance wears off, he returns to being a Zorua. The trance state makes him evolve but it's a forced evolution that weakens him in general.

Because of the trance, Desmond is only able to access the following moves:

Leer

Torment

Curse

Taunt

Spite

Nasty Plot

This can also add in drama of Desmond not wanting to evolve because he's afraid that would put him in a trance stat again.

(or, if you want to go even further, the Zoroark has been ‘haunting’ much, much earlier, and there are stories of the Pokemon of Misfortune appearing as far back as the time of the Isus)
