#desmond is turned into a pokemon
teecupangel · 9 months
Note
I sent the Desmond as an eevee ask (your reply to that was v cool) but I just realized that there's a red and white pokemon that's in lore dead to throw Desmond's consciousness into the hisuan forms of zorua and zoruark they even have golden eyes and can make illusions like an apple
Here’s the Sylveon!Desmond idea for those curious.
AND here’s the actual fic that @thewolfprince is writing for the Sylveon!Desmond idea!
Ooohhhhh.
A Hisuan form of Zorua and Zoroark would be certainly be a fun idea for a Pokemon!Desmond.
Tumblr media
For one main reason: the Hisuan Zorua/Zoroark is a Normal/Ghost type which means we can make this a reference to how Desmond died in AC3! XD
No, but in all seriousness…
Here are the pokedex entries of the Hisuan Zorua:
A once-departed soul, returned to life in Hisui. Derives power from resentment, which rises as energy atop its head and takes on the forms of foes. In this way, Zorua vents lingering malice.
And of a Hisuan Zoroark:
With its disheveled white fur, it looks like an embodiment of death. Heedless of its own safety, Zoroark attacks its nemeses with a bitter energy so intense, it lacerates Zoroark's own body.
This means if Sylveon!Desmond is a Pokemon created out of love and friendship.
Zoroark!Desmond is a Pokemon made of pain and spite.
In this scenario, the Brotherhood and the Order would have rumors of a Pokemon that haunts the Templar Order, using the shadows to stay hidden and attacking Templars when their guards are down.
No one knows what the Pokemon is but many say they see a flash of white and red… like it was bleeding.
And the Pokemon does not inflict wounds or make the Templars bleed.
No.
It weakens the Templars and their Pokemons to the point that they become easy targets for the Assassin Brotherhood.
The Pokemon does not show itself to the Brotherhood and it’s up to them and their Pokemons to investigate if any Templars are being haunted by the Pokemon of Misfortune.
.
And, in one of the many investigations that Altaïr conducted.
He sees it.
Just for a brief moment.
White and red.
With golden eyes…
That looked blank and seemingly far away…
.
So in this case, Desmond would be in a state of trance. His mind having been broken by both dying and becoming a Pokemon. He’s moving by instincts, attacking people he remembers being Templars. And it’s up to one of the main Assassins (like maybe Altaïr? Or, since Sylveon!Desmond is focused on Altaïr, Ezio or Ratonhnhaké:ton?) to snap him out of the trance by the power of friendship! Aka: capturing him and taking care of him until he starts to snap out of the trance.
Because of the trance, Desmond is only a Zorua at the moment and he’ll evolve after snapping out his trance then getting the proper care and training he needs to understand what it means to be a Pokemon.
OR!
To make it more 'dramatic'. While in a trance, Desmond is a Zoroark but when the trance wears off, he returns to being a Zorua. The trance state makes him evolve but it's a forced evolution that weakens him in general.
Because of the trance, Desmond is only able to access the following moves:
Leer
Torment
Curse
Taunt
Spite
Nasty Plot
This can also add in drama of Desmond not wanting to evolve because he's afraid that would put him in a trance stat again.
(or, if you want to go even further, the Zoroark has been ‘haunting’ much, much earlier, and there are stories of the Pokemon of Misfortune appearing as far back as the time of the Isus)

The cliche mandatory pokemon crossover PT 2 (Damikarp edition)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay so on Damian's side, The Desmonds are known to be famous dragon type trainers with Demetrius having an incredibly powerful Dragonite. Little Damian is ready to take on the challenge next and can't wait for his own dragon pokemon! However, when he tries to meet his father, he is mysteriously missing and in his stead is a scientist who has worked with his father to genetically engineer a pokemon for him to evolve into a fierce dragon. Damian is excited until he sees thats its a fucking magikarp... He's scared ebcause its so weak and he might get kicked out of Eden for battling with it, but they reassure him that its good and will become a powerful gyarados. And wiht no choice, he goes to Eden and there Anya is looking for him in order to get closer to his father and get intel on his plan to make more pokemon his soldiers. She is disappointed when she realizes that Damian hasn't seen his father for a while and is about to walk away when he hears the thoughts of Donovon??! Thats when she realizes the MAGIKARP IS DONOVON?!! DUn DUN DUNNN (ik its basically the detective Pikachu twist ripoff lmao) She eventually hears his thoughts that apparently he met up with the same scientists that turned her from a mew to a human. He only understood that they gave humans pokemon powers without realizing they only had powers since they used to be pokemon. So they told him he should turn into a pokemon so they can turn him back into a human with powers. They tricked him into turning into a magikarp, and they gave him to Damian for him to evolve him into a gyarados. If Damian fails to evolve him at Eden, they will refuse to turn him back and he will be stuck like that forever. She also realizes that the scientists are nearby and continuing the experiments, so she plans that if she can help take Donovan back to Loid and Wise, they can somehow figure out how to turn him back and take down the scientists that hurt her once and for all. So now Anya makes it her goal to try to befriend Damian so he can visit her house with his Magikarp. And Damian slowly starts to form his crush on Anya cause wow shes so interested in his shitty magikarp, she actually appreciates it unlike the others. And thus, shenanigans ensue.
I also like to think Donovon learns what a terrible father hes been to Damian since Damian keeps talking to his magikarp about his sad life and so when Donovan turns back, he makes it his goal to stop the war to be with his family more. Also, imagine Damian continuously try to call his father to tell him about his pokemon adventures and battles only for no one to pick up...

Go Random Bs I choose you! (Yes that was meant to be a pokemon reference, don't you dare laugh at me...)
(anyways times to go back to what started this account (well techically what else started it besides my art)... it's time for rambling, this time it ain't Headcanons though which is why I ain't titling it as such... this is purely like the saying "head empty...no thoughts...just rambling..." or however that saying goes... let's actually begin now!..) alright let's see... well my head tends to create random character ideas so let's start there so I was watching the newest Ellis video and this idea randomly popped into my head what if... there was a character who had a listener who was a shifter (when I say shifter I mean like Desmond,Neo & Darling) and the listener was a deer shifter so the character's nickname for the listener is "Dear" (because Dear sounds like Deer...) hold on don't leave just yet, I have more... soo.. what if there was a character who had a listener who was a angel and their nickname was "Angel/Angelic" or "Halo" (....alright not fans of the character ideas ok... geez y'all are a tough crowd...) Anyways let's move on to story ideas (I don't know if any of these storylines have been done before, they just randomly pop into my mind...) Anyways the first one I thought of was a story about this supernatural hunter (a boy,a girl,a non-binary (any gender really) just a person who hunts supernatural/mythical beasts) end up on a journey and while on this journey they befriend a bunch of different creatures (for example, the first creature they meet is a fairy or pixie who had accidentally got trapped by the hunter and only at first stayed around because their wing was injured...) next creature the hunter meets is either a troll or goblin (but unlike the stereotypes for trolls and goblins) this one actually just wishes to sell and collect flowers (I don't know what other creatures the hunter could befriend so let's move on to the next idea!) OK so we all know how in most stories Sirens are like evil mermaids so what if in this story, a little girl is lured in by the enchanting lullaby of a siren but it turns out to be a nice siren who the little girl befriends though unfortunately the sister of the siren isn't very nice and attempts to lure the little girl in with her own lullaby.... and the nice siren has to save the little girl from her sister... (don't judge me.... I never said these ideas weren't going to cliche or cheesy... theyre just random... anyways next idea!) I know it's cheesy but a story about a moon goddess/god/deity (deity is usually the tern I use to refer to a non binary god/goddess) who falls in love with a sun god/goddess/deity (i just think it would be cute also I didn't realize how long this has gotten so I shall end it here buh bye!)

List the first lines of your last 20 stories. See if you find any patterns.
Tagged by @101flavoursofweird
Tagging: whoever wants to do it!
I don’t have 20 fics yet so I’ll do my published ones first, then a few of my unpublished fics.
He watched from the cameras as the surprisingly intelligent cat jumped around his flat, knocking over piles of books that hadn’t been disturbed in centuries, scratching up old damaged carpets and playing with the somehow still functional radio.
- Preservation, Stray
B12 stared down at the box monitor that lay now shattered on the ground, unable to look away.
- The Frustration Memories Bring, Stray
She eased her eyes open, blinking as she realised this wasn’t where she fell asleep.
- Shiny Legends: A Strange Realm, Pokemon LA
Irida had first heard of him through the stories children had told.
- A Leader’s Choice, Pokemon LA
Snow crunched beneath his shoes and his breath came out as visible puffs of air.
- Son of the Devourer, Ninjago
That’s it for my published fics, so here’s some from the wips sitting in google docs:
Luke walked back up the stairs and got into their temporary room before Mr Wright could see him.
- On the Subject of Death, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright
Burning, standing in the beam felt like he was standing in fire.
- Shattered Future, Professor Layton
Making a tunnel like this, especially one that needed to go unnoticed, was far from the easiest thing in the world.
- Semi-Successful Save, Professor Layton
Desmond had been pacing for what felt like hours now, his cape catching wind from how rigid his turns were.
- Identity Reveal (working title), Professor Layton
Emmy revved her scooters engine, zipping around cars and ignoring the beeps and shouts as she broke what was probably multiple road laws.
- Pandora’s Call, Professor Layton
Sammy’s life had its ups and downs.
- 5 times Sammy gets spooked by the spirit + 1 time he spooks the spirit, Professor Layton
Hershel stared blankly at the wall of his current hospital room.
- Surprise Visitor, Professor Layton
Hershel groaned, an ache had settled all over his body and a migraine was making itself known.
- Another Way Around, Professor Layton
As the last of the Neurotox fog disappeared into the vinedrill flowers, the stone statues turned back into people.
- New Teammate: Blite, Slugterra
“Looks like this is the end for you, Inspector.”
- Saving Vergier (working title), Rhythm Thief
Jesse lunged forward, striking her blade against her target.
- Scattered Feathers, Mcsm
Another prison spider turned to dust beneath her blade, far from the first and far from the last.
- The Escape, Mcsm
And that’s makes 17! Not quite 20 but eh close enough. Congrats if you made it this far.
I’d say for patterns I’ve noticed, I’m practically married to overusing commas- though it’s fun to write like that. Also most of my stories contain a large does of angst and/or confusion for the characters in the story.
Quite a few of these start with the POV character’s name or pronoun, only one of them starting with dialogue. The ones that start with neither tend to start with an action instead.
Most of it is Professor Layton, but that’s understandable since it’s my current interest and I have a lot of Au ideas for it. As for other fandoms, we’ve got Stray, Ninjago, Slugterra, Rhythm Thief and Mcsm.
Most of these are also oneshots, only seven are chaptered and one of those seven is a 5 things + 1 thing format.
A lot of these are currently on pause, but most of the Professor Layton ones I’m in the process of writing (Shattered future is almost on chapter 3) so we’ll see if any of them end up getting published.
This was quite fun to do, thank you for tagging me!

IMPORTANT HEADCANONS TO CONSIDER
Tumblr media
CAN THEY USE CHOPSTICKS: He’s from Portland, what do you think?
WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY CAN’T SLEEP: Luckily that rarely happens; hero work makes him crash when he gets home from all the energy usage.  If he can’t sleep he’ll turn on a TV and see what’s going on in the news or Text his Bestie exclusively, she gets off late so sometimes he’d offer to walk or drive her home. He’d also probably do housework, you pretty much have to tie him down to get him to stop working.
WHAT WOULD THEY IMPULSE BUY AT THE GROCERY STORE: Anything sweet, as stated before Desmond has a major sweet tooth and a weak will, usually at checkout he’ll grab a candy bar or two at checkout. A box of Dots usually if not several...in the double digits.
WHAT ORDER DO THEY WASH THINGS IN THE SHOWER: Desmond of course takes good care of his hair, that gets taken care of first, then under the arms and other places, his tail takes some time to get completely clean, after all he does use it to bound around Portland when doing hero work.
WHAT’S THEIR COFFEE ORDER: Desmond personally detest coffee, he’s more of a Tea or coco person, teas which he takes with  4 sugars and light cream depending on the tea flavor.
WHAT SORT OF APPS WOULD THEY HAVE ON THEIR SMARTPHONE: Things that would probably already come with the phone, like a map and stuff. The Shazam app for when he hears music he likes and wants a name. Pokemon go that literally hasn’t been touched in years but he’s too attached to delete. Twitter to check on his family and friends.
HOW DO THEY ACT AROUND CHILDREN: Desmond is a hero; and his dream is to see the young generation grow and prosper. He wants mutant kids to see themselves in media and have a say in their own future, Desmond is good around kids, especially since he has a young sister and  a cousin. Desmond will talk to children like they’re personally friends of his and will do whatever it takes to make them smile.
WHAT WOULD THEY WATCH ON TV WHEN THEY’RE BORED AND NOTHING THEY REALLY LIKE IS ON: Desmond would probably try to catch reruns of wrestling and robot rumbles; two things he watches with his family, they get really into the sport of violence, it’s pretty much family tradition.  If really bored he’ll turn on  Disney or Animated movies to cry to, his favorite movie is Treasure planet , The Incredibles and Encanto.

A chat with my friend over OCs
I am loving Michelle.  She sounds pretty amazing. Like, I can imagine she left words on many people.
Red has a lot of mixed words, and its confusing to know if she has it right.
Her first words to Gavin are to tell him she remembered to bring him a subway this time. And he's like "who the heck are you?" beacuse at that point he's never met her. Gavins first words to her, were "wake up, I come with breakfest." far later in the future, beacuse greeting with food is apparently a thing with them.
Desmonds to red would be something like "so I hear you are good with false ID."
Red would reply "for the right price of course"
Reds first life-changing words came from the convieance store robber. "Don't move"
Her reply was "bah"
He still doesn't know what that means.
-------
I think he's like a sort of uncle to her. They are friends, and he asks her to make maps for his work, and genraly keeps her well feed, clean, hydrated, and picks her up from the hospitial. She needs people to take care of her, and Gavin is one of those people who does.
If it were significant words that people said to change your life it would be a very diffrent interpretation in their lives. Rather then announce the hairbrininger of change, it would be announcing the moment or significance of change which would be intresting to explore
It is, and it is represented by food here.
In contrast Desmonds dosemt seem significant at first , beacuse their initial meeting was one with a specific purpose. But later they rely on each other so much, and the initial words are so misleading.
The last is a brief meeting, not one of a lasting relationship, but a bit like being struck by lightning. Not a nice meeting, but worldchanging is not always brought on by nice people.
If I had to define her with a quote it might be
"Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn. William Nicholson
---
One of mine might be "I finally found someone who actually mentions Stockholm syndrome in a pokemon story and actually explains it quite well."
---
Yah It would be intresting to see what impacts me, and who
-The food things is cute. Like really cute holy shit
----------
I know right?
Whos words would be on your characters skins in a version of the soulmark AU I mentoned earlier. The one where the words are from someone who would completely turn your life around.
(it wouldn't nesscarly be first words that are important, but the words said announce the arrival of someone lifechanging)
That's the point of being Red.
Learning to overcome the challenges. Learning to balance.
I'm a fast reader, then I copy and pass it to you
Thats amazing, a great representative for Red. The fact she can deal with what's thrown at her , is wowie
---
The Five of Wands shows two types of conflict - outer and inner. The former arises when the world around you is filled with hassles and minor obstacles that would not slow your progress alone, but, when combined, they become increasingly difficult to overcome. The latter meaning manifests in times of difficult ethical choices, when the head fights the heart and when both are in combat with the conscience, each trying to tell you the best way to act and the right thing to do. It can indeed seem that you are being held back and attacked from all sides in such times.
When an outer battle is signaled by the appearance of this card, expect several problems to crop up all at once, each demanding immediate attention and none seeming particularly easy to solve. In the Rider-Waite variants the five combatants are evenly matched and armed, because none of them are any more important that the others. The situation then becomes a lesson about setting priorities calmly and without vacillation. In the Five of Wands there is a tendency towards rashness and loss of control, and you must be careful not to let that overwhelm you.
For inner battles marked by the Five of Wands the approach you must take is similar. Strategy is the key, because the energy of this card is natural, wild and untamed, an "every man for himself" philosophy. In such situations, once again, a clear head will prevail where hot-headed personalities get overwhelmed by difficulties. The emphasis is now on finding the sources of inner conflict and righting the wrongs that have caused them too appear. As long as there is guilt there can be no peace. Forgiveness and repentance, in these cases, make much more powerful weapons than the thickest wand or the sharpest sword.
The implementation of new ideas is a central theme of the Wands and the Five can show times where this implementation is halted or blocked in some way. This card may also appear when your ideas meet tough challenges by skeptics or opponents around you. At times like this, the best offense is a good defense. Hold fast to your resolve and let nothing deter you from your objectives. You will always succeed if you can tap the fiery energy of the Wands and, instead of using it for destructive purposes like fighting and quarelling, use it for constructive purposes. Compromise if you must, but refuse to lose your cool, even while standing on the hottest coals.
--------
I don't think it's a faimly curse. I think it's every few generations.  So perhaps Reds Grandmothers is cursed, her mom is not, and it hit Red the hardest. Or perhaps everyone has a diffrent curse.
Like say Her mom is cursed with Drive. She is so driven in her goals she ignores everything not related to her goal
An assassin who turned templar after he uncovered a first civ artifact that caused an earthquake. There's more to it than that, but he's pretty known in fandom for insisting he makes his own luck, which would make it kind of funny for him to have Red as a decendant
Meanwhile, I think reds patron first civ 'false god' either hates her, or is entertained by her misery. She gets into so much trouble. She does not have to even be doing anything, as evidenced by the convieance store robbery she first 'dies' in.
She has the weirdest luck, I swear
-------
No, but I'm glad you like her. Between her teleporting, and timetravling, flawed imortality, seriously increasingly convaulted backstory and now world jumping, I'm beginig to worry she might be risking a case of Sue.
The only cure for that may be failure.
Most of the time. Other times she would have no choice but to bulshit
RED QUEEN OF BULLSHITTING
--------
Oh God that's all pretty heavy, and not even cannon, so how about we have something slightly cannon and lighter.
Red messes up fourtuntellers. Any fourtuneteller she meets will spout strange things at her.
A Palm reader told her she had no lifeline and declared her a zombie, then she almost got stabbed.
It doesn't get better with Desmond (as a ghost at the time, and commenting on the shenanigans life throws at her) haunting her.
----
Fortune
"I don't know Desmond, anytime I do anything tangibly related to fortune telling, It gets weird. "
So that palm reader told you, that you have no lifeline. And her friend tried to stab you.  These are cookies. What could they do?"
Red frowned and cracked open the cookie. It smelt fine, but the fortune its self was very bizarre.
"While anyone can overbalance themselves they were cloudy, the true test is admission to someone else. Faults are tangible where permission is thin. The only real way to look bewildered is to not be backhanded so soon. Always try to do things in chronological shot, its less withholding that way."
-----
"I swear Red, this would only happen to you."
------
"I have some advice for you"
"Ok then"
"An option in hand is worth seventeen in the obstacle."
"A nineteenth-Century mouth manhandles no feet. An anonymous game believes anything but an essential game gives thoughts to his motorcycles. A copy in time integrates nine."
"Ummmm......? Whaaaaa???"
"Live well child"

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag part 46 FINAL
Tumblr media
I started the game up again after a few days of processing (and playing Pokemon) and started up to do some last minute stuff I had missed. So I got out of the animus and hacked the rest of the computers. Then I went after the last two Legendary Ships and finally, completed some Abstergo Challenges. Fun!
Tumblr media
The first thing I did was get out of the Animus and go around to hack the rest of the computers. I started off down in the basement in the bunker. It had previously had other people there but now they were empty. The first one was another sample of another Assassin, Aveline de Grandpré. I never heard of her before but she was another Assassin who had been brainwashed and trained to kill but that later in life she was trained to be a lady and Abstergo gave the green light on this one.
Tumblr media
Another computer was another sample that Abstergo had considered, Ratonhnhaké:ton aka, Connor. They were unimpressed with his calm demeanor. They did find his childhood more impressive but thought that the audience would struggle with the language he spoke, so they denied it.
Tumblr media
I headed up to the top floor offices and the secretary wasn’t at her desk so I hacked her computer. It was a story of Kenway before he left Bristol. He had stopped two men from taking a drunk girl home and started a fight so they wouldn’t. Since there were three of them, he got beat up but the fight was stopped by a woman who came by named Caroline Scott. She understood what was happening right away and turned out her father owned the bar they were at. Kenway had invited her out to dinner for another time but she turned him down saying her father wouldn’t approve. But he couldn’t stop thinking about her after she left. Aw! It’s how they met.
Tumblr media
I went down to the lobby and hacked the computers there. There was an audio file with Vidic interviewing Subject 1 who was delving into memories of Aveline de Grand Pré. Since the Subject was male, he found it weird to be living memories from a female, he noticed a lot of differences their center of gravity was different, the way he was treated, how he had to be careful what he wore. He had never been more aware of who he was before.
Tumblr media
Another audio file was back with Aileen as Miriam who was being held by Nazis looking for an Artifact. They were telling her that all her allies were dead and Miriam said that the fact that he was here that they didn’t talk and neither will she. They then sound like they were torturing her and it effected Aileen and they had to pull her out of the animus. But something went wrong and Aileen ended up dying. The end of the tape had Vidic practicing his eulogy for Aileen and it honestly sounded like he was gloating. Hate that guy.
Tumblr media
I didn’t know where last two computers were and looked everywhere but it ended up being in the lobby down near the entrance, the security doors. One of them had a last memo from Desmond to his father basically as a good bye. It was right before he died as he was talking about his memories of Connor and that they were going to the temple. And if something happened to him he loved him and his mom. It’s sad to think that his dad never got to hear these memos because Abstergo went in and took everything. His dad, Shaun and Rebecca didn’t have time to take Desmond’s body and his things.
Tumblr media
The last computer was a correspondence between Olivier and Melanie with Olivier asking her to focus on where the Observatory was. She didn’t know how she was going to pass that off as part of their research, but he didn’t care. He was getting pressure from Laetitia who in turn was getting pressure from her boss. They didn’t care about their little game projects, only the results. Olivier just said to surprise them with food and liquor and I guess that was what they went with.
Tumblr media
That was all of the computers hacked. I also found the last sticky note on the wall in the same room. Everything outside the Animus was now done. Nothing happened though.
Tumblr media
I then went back into the Animus since there was still a few more things to do, like go after the last Legendary Ships. The first one was in the Navassa sea.
Tumblr media
It was the HMS Prince and it looked like a Ghost Ship because there was fog everywhere. I went straight after it and it was surprisingly very easy. I thought I was going to have a tough time, but I just continued to circle it, blasting it with my cannons.
Tumblr media
It didn’t take very long and it was only on the first try that I was able to sink it. Three down, one to go.
Tumblr media
The last Legendary Ship was the La Dama Negra on the other side of the sea. It was really strong and I had a hard time with it. It had thick armor on it, but it was kind of slow. I had to use that to my advantage.
Tumblr media
It didn’t seem to have any other attack except mortars but they hit pretty hard and were not completely accurate. I had to hit it straight on or from the sides. I would hit it with my own mortars when I could, but the cannons worked better. I would just circle the ship and kept blasting it. If I got lucky, I would weaken it and could hit it with the fire swivels.
Tumblr media
It took me four tries before I was finally able to sink it and I only just barely won. One more hit and I would have had to start over. But I did it and all the Legendary Ships were sunk.
Tumblr media
When I beat the last Legendary Ship I got a new ship attack, called Charge Attack. could ram other ships and it will take more damage. Nice.
Tumblr media
There wasn’t much else to do except Abstergo Challenges, so I did those. There weren’t many to do since I’ve completed most of them. One of them was to Kill enemies with Head Shots. I just fast traveled to Havana and wen tot he most guarded areas and just headshot all the guards I saw until I completed it.
Tumblr media
Moving on, I had to disarm and kill 3 agile guards with their own weapon. I didn’t know how to do it at first because when I disarmed them they would just drop it and I didn’t grab it. I had to look it up. Turns out they had a dagger so I just had to use the one I already had and killed the first one. Then the next one I disarmed and was able to equip it. Rinse repeat and I completed the challenge.
Tumblr media
The next one was really easy. I had to dive into water from a height of 45 meters. I just climbed to the top mast of the Jackdaw and dived straight down. Challenge complete.
Tumblr media
The next challenge was to kill a red howler monkey. There was only one place to find them, Isla Providencia. So I fast traveled there and searched for one and killed it. Another challenge complete.
Tumblr media
Another challenge was to use the blowpipe to kill animals. So I went to an island that had deer and used the sleep dart on it so I could just go up to it and kill it. I had to do it 10 times before getting the achievement.
Tumblr media
Next up was to defeat 5 ships I had previously tagged. I don’t really use that feature, so I had to go out and just tag a ship in the distance, sail out to it and sink it. Once I did it 5 times, I completed the challenge.
Tumblr media
The next one was really fun. I had to use the rope dart 5 times. I found an island that had some Spanish and British soldiers fighting each other. I just used the rope dart on all of them and hung them from the same tree. Challenge done.
Tumblr media
Same island, I had to use the rope dart on animals. There were those small rodent things I just threw the rope dart at it and it died. So it was easy. I had to kill 5 of them that way and then I completed the challenge.
Tumblr media
There was just one more challenge to do and that was to kill 15 enemies with the rope dart. I just went to a place with a warehouse that had a lot of greenery so I could use the trees. I just used the rope darts on passing soldiers. You should have seen another tree I used, it had four hanging from it. I was able to finish the last challenge with no problem.
There was nothing left for me to do, so that is it. Kind of an anti-climatic ending for my game play, but that’s okay. I like a relaxing game play.  I had a lot of fun playing this game, even if it took me a long time to finish. I’ll say more in my review, but I really loved this game and how it connected with the others. Thank you for following along this whole time and I can’t wait to start my next game that I’ve been sitting on for a while - Stray. Until next time. Happy Gaming!

My Staff
Chief Rancher, Luke
Luke is a big man, worked up from field hand all the way to chief. He is blond with a deep tan and a big beard. He looks like a cowboy who got used to not only good barbecue but the relaxed rancher life and the modern world. He is very calm and very strong. I saw him one time literally grab a Tauros by the horns, and then proceed to "yeet" per common vernacular, the Tauros about fifteen feet. Very friendly and loves a good laugh too. His partner Pokemon is a Mudsdale named Clyde, a Spoink named Coil and a Kricketune named Doc. He directly supervises 4 ranch hands listed below.
Daisy is one of our farmhands. She primarily works with the Tauros and Miltank, and quite enjoys the work she does. She also works the machines needed to turn the milk from the Miltank into delicious dairy products! It's too bad I can't have any *crying face*. Her primary team consists of a Miltank named Betsy, a Tauros named Rads and a Bouffalant named Diana.
Cerise works primarily with the Skiddo, Mareep and Wooloo lines for the sake of usable wool, fiber, tea and milk. She is an excellent knitter and kinda reminds me of a grandmother. All of her clothes are hand woven, and when blended with Gossifleur and Jumpluff fluff, makes excellent sales of viable yarn and clothes. Her team is a Gogoat named Beardsley, an Ampharos named Lux and a Herdier named Desmond.
Chrissy is a ranch hand that primarily works with the cloth making pokemon alongside Cerise. Jumpluff, Gossifleur, Whimsicott and even the Spinarak, Sewaddle and Wurmple lines. She has a working knowledge of silk and plant fiber, and can sometimes be seen in our garden as well. She is mostly our resident Bug type expert, as well as helps with the study of Pokemon ecosystems between the plants and bugs that live there. She has a Swadloon named Tayet, a Wurmple named Mozz, and a Cottonee named Caroline.
Lily is our last but not least of the ranch hands. She specializes in natal care and Pokemon breeding, and wants to own her own Pokemon Daycare some day. A mother of four herself, once they grew up she wanted to retain her experiences and knowledge by helping young Pokemon. She is a trained midwife for both people and Pokemon, and has a knowledge of herbal medicine, though mostly in the areas of fertility, birthing and egg-laying, and natal care. She has a Kangashkan named Hera, a Cubone named Cubsy, and a Ninetales named Nyx.
Chief Botanist, Reese
Reese is a very calm woman who suffers not the fool to live. She has dark skin and big hair, and when agitated her glasses always seem to catch the glint just right to be intimidating. While she seems rather bookish she's actually very social and will go on and on about the different Grass types and plants she loves. Her partners are a Sunkern named Dimsum, a Tangela named Garson, and a Golisopod named Indie.
Chief Gardener, Alan
Where Reese is in charge of the medicinal plants, how to make them more potent, or how to increase yield, Alan is in charge of layout, landscaping and coordinating the efforts of the others to tend to the garden, make sure it's all set for each season, and make sure any pests are gotten rid of. Most people describe him as being like Pumpkaboo pie; round, sweet, and scary if messed with. His team consists of a Lurantis named Lady, a Whirlipede named Vince, and a Diggersby named Dirk.
Alan and Reese are actually husband and wife! Alan and Reese directly supervise two staff members listed below, who are their two daughters.
Holly and Jasmine work with their parents Alan and Reese. Unlike some children who grow up working with their parents, they actually desired to keep going in gardening. Holly, the younger of the two, has expressed a desire in ethnobotany, while Jasmine has stated on numerous occasions she wishes to be an herbalist. Jasmine is more like her dad in personality while Holly is much more like her mom. Holly's team consists of a Seedot named Pip and a Gossifleur named Fay. Jasmine's team consists of Bounsweet named Baby and a Pumpkaboo named Larry.
Chief Spelunker, Gideon
Our expert cave-worker, he used to work as an archaeologist. While he gave up on that dream to foster new relationships with Pokemon, he has the opportunity to work in the cave systems of Solaceon Town deep in the woods. So far he has mapped out about 50% of them, and is still willing to do more. His Pokemon team consists of a Claydol names Jones, an Unown named Sigma and a Nosepass named Lode. He has three people he directly supervises listed below.
Marta is our excavator and best with the fossil Pokemon. She has a working knowledge of geology, plate tectonics and geochemistry. While she hasn't gone to school yet for any of these things, she's the best at what she does and her chosen field is paleontology. Her team consists of an Alolan Diglet named Kahuna, a Lileep named Blanca and an Aurorus named Australus.
Sanjay is our residential, self-proclaimed "caveman." He has an interest in ancient cultures and is most interested in finding cave paintings or signs of ancient societies such as clay pots for food storage, or human and Pokemon bones who used to live with us. He has a working knowledge of ancient history, carbon dating and archaeology. He has a Piloswine named Blitz, a Galarian Yamask named Fjord and an Archen named Jugs.
Violet is the one you can call on for cave-pokemon biology. From the smallest lichen to the largest Tyrantrum, she knows them all. Her specialty is bat-like Pokemon, and her heart is set on working with these Pokemon. She has a Woobat named Linen, a Golbat named Mawmaw and a Noivern named Bugsy.
Chief Mycologist, Hadrian
Despite us having an established gardening team, we do have a Chief Mycologist who works with mushrooms and mushroom Pokemon. Hadrian prefers to mostly work alone, but what he provides for our team for both preventive and immediate medicine has been life-saving on many accounts. When he does work with people, it's usually Gideon's team or with the other mushroom Pokemon in the southern woods. He has a Shroomish named Cordy, a Paras named Toad and a Shiinotic named Ama.
Engineers Brody and Sam
Brody and Sam are my two engineers who use the 3D printer. Whether for something as simple as a trowel, or something as intricate as a 3D printed heart and pacemaker, these guys are some of the smartest I know. Brody has red hair and freckles and is usually seen wearing a pair of goggles on his head. With a very slender build, he actually used to be on track and field when he was younger. His specialty is in mathematics, while Sam's is in biological chemistry. Sam seems like a slow fellow, very big and almost brutish looking with black hair, but has one of the calmest temperaments I'd ever known in a person. When not doing anything, he tends to read one of the many books in the library he installed himself. Brody's team is a Porygon named B12, a Pichu named Glint and a Metang named Tungsten. Sam has an Umbreon named Luna, a Comfey named Rosemary and a Medicham named Rush.
Field Tech Team Alpha
Marina, Raul and Carmen
Marina is the leader of this Field Team. Being an ex-ranger she wanted to do more local stuff for her home town but wanted something similar. She was the first of the field techs I hired and I followed her lead on how the field techs should operate. With an athletic build she goes for morning runs. She has darker skin and hails from Alola. Her team consists of a Victreebel named Pitch, a Mantyke named TsuTsu and a Lairon named Lars.
Raul primarily studies as a Pokemon breeder, and so is interested in the relationships Pokemon have with each other as well as the family dynamic each species has. Even when he needs to be serious he listens to music while out in the field, and tends to be the only one to journal all the findings. While it seems he's not paying attention, he's really just drowning out the sounds of everything else to study the physical and non-verbal responses of Pokemon. His team consists of a Tympole named Richter, a Whismur named Hush and a Chatot named Sqwauks.
Carmen is a strong woman originally from Johto. She is particularly interested in becoming a cop, and so views this job more as a stepping stone. She is the forensics specialist, and is particularly good as my chief investigator. Her team consists of a Spinarak named Spiner, a Snubull named Martha and a Macargo named Vulkan.
Field Tech Team Omega
Brandon, Rhodes and Isabelle
Brandon is an up and coming gym leader, so we'll need to replace him. His focus is on Fighting types, and he's amazing at what he does. Whereas Marina's team is mostly for search and rescue and local observations, Brandons team is about forming relationships with Pokemon in the wild. The reason being is that it's important to have teams you can rely on who know the area better than you do. His team consists of a Croagunk named Ty, a Gallade named Gutsy and a Galarian Farfetch'd named Beau.
Rhodes is an ex-member of Team Rocket. Originally, I warily hired him as he had just gotten out of prison. He had told me that his family had died at a young age, and while living on the streets had sucked, he joined Team Rocket as his only reprieve. He left Kanto after getting out of prison to start a new life and had seen I was hiring. He has shown full regret for ever joining and has shown to be quite an empathetic man, and now wants to work as a pokemon physician. I can always trust him out in the field to make an accurate diagnosis that is life saving and I wouldn't want him to leave if possible. His team is a Galarian Meowth named Bjorn, an Alolan Muk named Greaser and a Pincurchin named Pine.
Isabelle is a wild child. Fleeing home because her parents didn't approve of her "lifestyle" because she felt trapped in the wrong body. While she's living a much happier life now, she is very much a hot head and someone I would rather not battle unless needed. Isabelle always thinks of unconventional ways in which to have her Pokemon fight, but she can easily lose her temper and becomes very straightforward in her tactics. However, I've never seen someone display as much empathy towards other Pokemon as she has. She has a Toxel named Trixie, a Hatterene named Harriet and a Goomy named Gloria.
Chefs, Winston and Hobbes
Both origination from Unova, Winston and Hobbes are the two chefs who work at the lab. Well, the saying goes never trust a skinny chef. Never have I believed that sentiment more. This pair both fit the stereotype of a not-so-skinny chef. Husbands now, who both grew up with similar passions for food, they both said they loved cooking but couldn't handle their own business nor the stress of a typical restaurant. While a lot of food needs to be cooked for everyone here, they both love working for the lab and helping out with feeding and healing Pokemon. While it seems that their teams aren't separate as they work in the kitchen, they form a powerhouse between the eight of them. Winston's team consists of a Milcery named Fizz, an Appletun named Normand and an Alolan Raticate named Richard. Hobbes' team consists of a Swirlix named Dizz, a Flapple named Cider, and a Swalot named King.
Rehab techs
Amanda is one of my techs who directly works with injured and rehabilitating Pokemon. She focuses on more of the elderly Pokemon. She has been working in rehab facilities for years, and while she doesn't understand some of the newer tech, she is very gentle and understanding with the elders. Her team consists of a Blissey named Ostara, a Snom named Anna and a Mienshao named Lian.
Charlie - while young, he's got spunk and he's got guts. He's seen some things most people haven't at that age as he used to be a CNA for the local emergency room. If ever there were someone to rely on in a pinch, it's Charlie. His team consists of a Vullaby named Vivian, a Tyrogue named Thai and a Salandit named Lyra.
Aviva - hailing from Kanto, Aviva was a young and aspiring trainer who had a run in on Alola with a wild Sharpedo. Having lost both her legs, she's been wheelchair bound until recently, when my engineers made her a pair of prosthetic legs. Having felt she earned a "Totem Spirit" so to speak, she primarily works with Water types and works in the rehab pool most of the time. She has a Carvanha named Axel, a Barbaracle named Goose and a Mareanie named Mary
Christian - Christian is the tough appearing guy who really is a ball of fluff. While he looks like the type who would break you in two for looking at him wrong, he used to work as a military nurse and is working as a Pokemon emotional therapist now who helps work out behavioral and psychological problems. As he suffers PTSD of his own, he feels like this is a way to help him out as well. He has a Nidorino named Thorn, a Volbeat named Tesla and a Bastiodon named Jericho.
Lab Techs
Gary - Gary is the chief of both the clinical lab and pharmaceuticals sides. He can be kinda gruff but he means well. When it comes to treating people and Pokemon he's excellent but can be a little rough with staff. Part of it stems from him having worked in a previous job that was abusive, and when things get rough he gets stressed. But he never abuses or harms another. He has a Garbodor that helps him dispose of biological waste named Fonk, a Rolycoly named Slade and a Luxio named Karnak.
Veronica - She specializes specifically in Pokemon metabolism, and can help me pinpoint issues with Pokemon who have some sort of metabolic disorder, or changes in normal bodily function and can help me determine if something is genetic or from an outside source. Her team consists of a Heatmor named Adam, an Alolan Marowak named Marcus, and a Fletchinder named River.
Stacey - Stacey is the other lab tech, but she specializes in imaging and nuclear medicine. She started off initially as a rehab tech but found she liked to be away from the front lines and work with the machines. Her own team consists of a Rotom named Loa, a Duraludon named Goji and a Togedemaru named Spikes
Pharm Techs
Tracey - Stacey's fraternal twin sister, she works as one of the pharmacists. Her specialty lies in more of the herbal medicines, but she specifically is skilled in aromatherapy, which includes the use of incense, spritzes and perfumes to awaken natural responses. While it seems unconventional, the oils she makes can be extremely useful in just the behavioral health of Pokemon in our care alone, but some of them have strong effects that aid in healing. Her team consists of a Munna named Myrrh, an Aromatisse named Nostra and a Sinistea named Earl.
Mark - Mark is a bit of a shy guy, stereotypically thin and nerdy. He even wears a bowtie most days! But without his knowledge we couldn't run this place. With his organizational abilities and literal alphabetical knowledge of medicines for Pokemon, we'd be lost without his resources. His team includes an Oranguru named Zaius, a Galarian Slowking named Magus, and a Chinchou named Beacon.
Dax - For the person that uses the actual machine, there is the person who preps the contrast. Our pharmacist specifically for Nuclear Medicine, Dax is the one you meet before your CT. He is also responsible for other medications and works with his two other techs to produce natural medicines merged with the modern. His partners are a Darmanitan named Dude, a Solosis named Vale, and a Lombre named Luis.
Chief Aviary Specialist, Piper
Piper is our aviary specialist and the greatest with helping Pokemon that fly get back on their feet -er- wings. She originally worked as part of a traveling circus and did trapeze acts, as well as an aerial dancer! She has worked mainly with Flying type Pokemon her entire life, and has incorporated them in her acts. She has a Dodrio named Marduk, a Natu named Muadh, and a Swanna named Pearl.
That's the introduction to my staff, I hope you've enjoyed the tours so far. Any questions don't be afraid to ask and let us know what you think! Ciao!

NEW POKÉMON IDEA
Desmond as a Ditto. I got nothing else, just imagining Desmond waking up as a Ditto and being so fuckin confused the first time he accidentally shapeshifts into a new Pokémon.
I’m just imagining Desmond waking up as a lil Ditto with Ditto parents who taught him how to shapeshift. Desmond can’t understand them at all with their “Ditto, Ditto” language but he managed to get what they’re trying to say.
Later on, when his parents hatched new Dittos, he leaves the small peaceful forest they were in and shapeshifts into a Pidgey and took flight.
The other Pidgeys and their evolutions see his eyes and they stay far away but that was fine.
Desmond just wanted to look around this new world he finds himself in.
A few months later, the gym leaders all hear about a young man, older than the usual trainers trying to get a badge from their gyms, battling the first gym leader and winning his first badge.
He wears a white hood and a full white mask that covers his entire face.
He does not speak, instead using hand gestures or using a text to speech app on his phone.
Why did the other gym leaders give them a head’s up?
Because he doesn’t order his Pokemons around, simply letting them fight freely.
(Of course Desmond can’t talk. The only thing he can say is “Ditto”. Also, he got the Pokeballs from the local evil organization of that continent. He also has a companion Ditto that stays by his shoulder who may or may not be his younger sibling, he’s not entirely sure. The Ditto just started following him around after a Pidgey and stayed with him. Now, every time a Pokedex register him, he gets the excuse of ‘saying’ the Pokedex was registering the Ditto that was clinging to him)

Pokemon MissinGO
This is a commission for a scary story centered around Pokemon Go! Cool right? I thought so
If you want a commission of your own, message me and I will tell you my prices
In New York’s prized capital city, light and darkness live like roommates with equal shares to the space they own. While the lights in the famous Time Square shined brighter even in the deepest hour of the night at the same time there are corners that even the city clustered with a plethora of lights could not reach. One such place was the park that, during the day, was like a green emerald, but at night Central Park was a black spot on the map save for only a few streetlights that seem to flicker on and off at random times—during the most inconvenient of times.
During the long days and short, warm nights of summer vacation it wasn’t outrageous to see teenagers and young adults being out so late enjoying the time they got. A curfew would prove useless as the city was too vast any police to search for deviant youngsters, and many of them hid amongst the crowd of tourists who flocked to the city for their vacations. Stores even closed late to capitalize on the influx of potential customers and as a result more people flocked to Time Square than any part of the city. But after one in the morning when the number of youths out and about slowly begins to drop, seeing someone as young as the girl holding her nose to her phone became strange. She would be told to go home, but those out at that late hour didn’t care if a teenager was out alone wandering the darkness.
The girl whose hair was tussled bright red watched the scrolling screen with extra attentiveness. She was deaf to the noises around her and her only rope to the outside world was dodging cracks and dips in her path with the corner of her eyes. Like many of her classmates and fellow New York City citizens, the girl was playing Pokemon GO, a mobile game whose popularity skyrocketed earlier that summer to the point where it was uncommon to go a day without seeing someone playing it. But therein laid the problem the girl meant to avoid: a game so popular that so many were playing it presented problems for the players who tried to be the first to catch the rarest Pokemon. The girl looked up from her phone for a moment, and she saw the row of streetlights in front of her, the darkness surrounding her, but she was alone—alone playing her game.
To the success of her plan, a Vaporeon appeared on her screen, two steps in front of her. The girl squealed with joy as she easily caught the aquatic creature on the screen. Her plan had worked and she couldn’t wait until she found something better. But when she caught the Pokemon she noticed she threw her last pokeball. She scrolled ahead on the little map and spotted a PokeStop close by. Without her eyes on the screen, the girl became aware of her dark surroundings and ran out of fear to the PokeStop which was almost always near a business.
She ran through the dark streets, her frantic boots echoed down every pitch black alleyway. Nothing was chasing her but she ran like something was breathing down her neck just to get away. Thankfully the girl’s speed was great and she reached the PokeStop in a matter of seconds. It was in front of a coffee shop that was closed for the night but whose neon lights were still on, extremely bright. The girl sat down on the tables outside and waited for refill her items.
Suddenly a chime on her phone startled her already strung nerves. A silhouetted Pokemon appeared, one whose outline the girl did not recognize, and it was just across the street, inside Central Park. She sprang out of her seat, eager to uncover the mysterious creature, and in the heat of the moment the girl threw away her caution, her logic.
The girl ran into the darkness and watched only the screen below her. Light faded the further away from the city she got, following the path presented to her and not the pathway beneath her feet. If she was listening to anything else but the sounds of her Pokemon Go character’s walk cycle, the girl would’ve heard herself running closer to the lake and she would have seen yourself getting closer to Gapstow Bridge. However, the only thing she watched herself go closer to was the Pokemon in question which still hadn’t yet revealed itself on the screen.
Water. The girl snapped back to reality once her foot dipped in the lake. Suddenly she became aware of where she was and the quietness surrounding her like a dense fog. She couldn’t see over the trees, the lights were over the horizon seemingly miles away; there wasn’t the slightest sign of anyone with her. Frightened beyond belief, her first instinct was to run away as fast as she could again, but another jingle stopped her. The Pokemon revealed itself.
On her screen she saw the sprite of an Aerodactyl flapping its wings, but its entire body was composed of bones. Its head was skull, its eyes empty black voids, and its wings were sticks. It had to be a glitch, the girl perceived; there weren’t even fossils in the game let alone one being an actual Pokemon. Unfortunately, the girl saw only her chance to be considered famous for finding and catching a glitch Pokemon and so she stayed. With one flick of her finger she easily caught the creature and skipped with joy. The congratulation message popped up.
“YOU CAUGHT MISSINGO!” It said in bold letters.
“M-Missingo?” She read the text out loud.
It had no traits with it. Her screen turned black and she thought it was her battery that died.
A fume of air brushed her hair. It was cold and it scratched down her spine until she was frozen by it. She felt a presence standing behind her. There was no noise and at first she thought it was a trick of her mind, but it wasn’t. The sensation was clear as day, someone stood behind her. The girl couldn’t move; the fear of seeing whoever it was fought the need to see them.
The darkness surrounding her seemed to swallow even the faintest light in the distance. The half moon reflective on the lake’s surface was gone, the lake followed, and then one by one the trees vanished. She was alone. Shadows slithered on the ground, tainting everything they touched until black was all she could see and in a matter of second she couldn’t see her own hands.
The girl suddenly felt her chest fall to the void in front of her. A searing pain stabbed between her breasts, almost like a fire-tip hook cleaved her skin and proceeded to drag her down to the ground. Whispers followed. Inaudible voices that no matter how much the girl tried she could not understand what they were saying. They whispered so close to her ear she instinctively tried to swat them away from her, but she couldn’t move her hands.
And then she heard music. It was more of a screech than music, each note ringing her ears with a sharp tone like no instrument she’d ever heard. But she felt it was familiar.
A twig was cracked beneath the other presence’s feet and the girl turned around finally to see it.
The pale white jaws of a gaping maw reached out to her. Fangs sharper than daggers ran up and down the lips, framing a grin that stretched wide, wider than anything human or animal. The girl felt nothing at that moment, the fear had turned her body to nothing. She locked eyes with it and its empty sockets stared at her. It was bones perfectly resembling the Aerodactyl she just caught, down to the smallest detail. The girl felt her skin punctured as one of its front fangs pierced her chin.
The last thing the girl spoke before she saw nothing but blackness did not echo in such a deep, dark hour of the night. “Missingo.”
Her boots were found the next day by a homeless person.
No matter what time of day it was, the city’s subway sapped the life out of Desmond Taylor. Whether it was going to work or coming out of work, the bleak setting, flickering lights and the constant smell of piss—whether it was human or rat in origin was a mystery—broke down the young man more than his part-time job could ever do, though it hadn’t stopped trying. Desmond sat next to the railings near the doors when he could or whenever there wasn’t a crowd, and when the subway was packed, like most mornings, including that one, he’d stand to avoid the people who’d give anything to sit down.
Coffee in hand, Desmond clung to the pole with a robotic arm while the rest of his body shut down from sleep, but it wasn’t common for such a morning when nights filled with disappointment and frustrations happened. He stayed up late into the night trying to find and download a copy of Japanese games, something common for the young man who loved watching anime and playing JRPG’s, but finding games that were not only fan-translated but also trying to find copies that didn’t carry viruses. He found such a copy around one in the morning, a virus attached to a dating game, which had him scanning and deleting virus threats until his computer worked again, but not without cost as many of the files he got that night were gone when he woke up in the morning. The coffee was a triple shot, dark chocolate espresso as a result. And as he drank it, Desmond’s legs tried their best to keep him standing while he nearly drifted to sleep.
“Look a Hunter showed up!”
“Fuck yeah!”
Desmond snapped awake just as his head tilted. What was a small dip felt like his head touched the ground before launching back up. Two boys behind him looking at their phones got his attention and his irritation.
Damn kids, he said in his head.
“I only have four of him, I really need to step up my game,” said one of them.
“This is like my twentieth one this week. I hear they’ve been showing up all over the place,” said the other.
Oh that’s right, maybe I should play a bit. Desmond first took a sip of his coffee, without it he didn’t have the patience to play Pokemon Go.
As the subway traveled across the city it became easier to play the game. Pokemon appeared every few seconds and the many of the others who were also playing the game were catching by the dozens. Desmond caught nothing worth mentioning beyond just two Rattatas out encounter eight of them. After the either one the train finally reached his destination and he was forced out. From the station it was only a few minutes walk to his work so Desmond didn’t even try to sneak in a couple more rounds. The day hadn’t even started yet and Desmond already wished it was over.
Troy’s Hobby Shop was a rickety building four blocks from anything interesting. It was certainly overshadowed by Time Square as well as any other store with decent prices for tiny strips of lumber for models. There were hardly any customers and there wasn’t worth mentioning beyond Japanese Gundam models and model train sets that on hand attracted window shoppers but not much else. Desmond worked there because of those reason and the fact that he was still paid regardless of customers of not. He pulled up his chair behind the counter and positioned himself in his lazy posture.
“Try to act like your working, Des,” said the shop’s owner and namesake, Troy who was repositioning boxes in the backroom.
A tall and thin man with a streak of bright yellow around the floor of his hair, the bulk of his responsibilities as the manager was sign bills, take the occasional phone call every four weeks, and arrange the boxes.
“I will once someone shows up,” replied Desmond, on his phone again. The battery wasn’t fully charged, not enough to keep playing Pokemon Go anyway.
Troy sighed and he adjusted a box that hadn’t moved since the last time he adjusted it a few seconds ago.
“Everyday I think about closing this place down. People just don’t have hobbies like they did when I was a kid.”
“Maybe you could lower the prices. You get royalty checks for your stuff so why do you make the Gundam models like thirty bucks?” Desmond inquired.
“Because if I did that we’d get those damn weebs coming in. Yeah I get it, you watched subtitled anime and you think you can read the scribbles, just don’t fucking talk to me about it. And besides, those models are rare here; the stupidest collector will pay whatever for them.”
Desmond returned to his phone which was charging in the outlet next to him. At last the fickle servers returned and he was able to play his game. Luckily for Desmond, Troy registered his shop as a PokeStop in a useless attempt to attract younger customers when the Pokemon Go craze started to get grow.
At first, like many others in his college classes, Desmond was reluctant to play Pokemon Go when it first appeared. Mobile games were at the bottom of his preferences and it seemed everywhere he was filled with the screams of preteens overly excited about their winnings which only served to irritate Desmond. But as he began to see mobs of people playing, news coverage of the game and its dangers, and even his younger sister started playing, Desmond, a long since follower of the Pokemon franchise, started himself. He played out to occupy his time, especially at work.
Suddenly he and Troy were stirred by a noise they both thought had gone extinct: the chime of the bell over the front door ring. A young man, yet still visibly older than the twenty-one year old Desmond, entered and Desmond was instantaneously awoken from his lazy state by his looks. Freckles like flakes of gold were sprinkled across the man’s face, underneath his malachite green eyes, underneath silky hair, bright orange. Everything Desmond searched for in a man he found on the one who walked through the doors. He could his face burn up; with his mouth closed, he bit his tongue to keep himself in check while the young man browsed.
“Hey man, how are you doing? Is there anything we can help you find?” Troy asked in Desmond’s stead. The man didn’t answer. He whispered to his employee. “Look alive, Des.”
His malachite eyes wondered the shelves near the door but he was ultimately drawn to the wooden figures at the very bottom of a shelf across the store. He flew to them and knelt down to see them closely; it was hard for Desmond to resist staring at the man’s broad back and not make it seem like he was staring.
“Stop drooling and help him. Make sure he buys some of those shitty dolls,” Troy whispered to Desmond.
The awkward and shy Desmond creaked from behind the counter and he managed to reach the man. His face was already sweating even before his foot touched the sales floor.
“He—Hey! Can I—help you with something?” Desmond inquired.
The young man’s eyes were on Desmond then. They were large and a little close together but they emanated a charm that rendered the employee smitten with affection; his heart started to beat fast, he was so nervous. Up close, Desmond noticed the man had an athletic build and his button shirt clung to the engorged muscles on his arm. Muscles and athletics builds weren’t the first things Desmond looked for in his men, truthfully he preferred a normal build, yet Desmond subtly ran his hand across his mouth to make sure he really wasn’t drooling.
“Nah, I’m just looking at these. Do you know anything about them?” The man asked.
“Well…we got them in a couple months ago, direct from Japan. Other than…” Desmond didn’t want to say he didn’t have the slightest idea about what the dolls were.
The man smiled and Desmond was instantly put at ease, his smile was warming.
“Their wooden carvings of Japanese demons.”
He picked one which had a kimono craved at its cylinder body but unlike the other carvings, the one the man held had hair but its face was smooth, featureless.
“This one is called Noppera. It’s supposed to be harmless but sometimes it’s a demon. Pretty interesting, like Slenderman,” said the man.
He handed it over to Desmond. The moment their hands touched, even for a brief second, sent shivers down Desmond’s spine. He could’ve sworn he saw his own breath. The small doll that wasn’t even the size of his forearm and its texture was coarse; as Desmond held it the tip of his index finger was pricked, and so he was more focused on the doll’s shabby appearance than analyzing the intricate details of its kimono.
“Nopperas don’t have faces, that’s why this one doesn’t. They disguise themselves as other people to scare humans. Its super messed up, but I like them. They’re interesting,” he said.
“Do you know a lot about these dolls?” Desmond asked.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that. I have a lot of free time so I look things, mostly Japanese games. I end learning about all these things because I can’t find any torrents.”
Adrenaline rushed from Desmond’s heart and across every nerve in his body until he acted on impulse.
“I like playing Japanese games too!” He proclaimed, loudly because he didn’t realize he was speaking.
“Really? Cool,” said the man, cracking a tender smile. “My name is Lucas but my friends call me Cent.”
“Cent,” whispered Desmond, too captivated to question it
“So…you play Pokemon Go too?” Lucas asked.
Desmond snapped back to reality. “Uh yeah, a little bit.”
“You know…me and a couple friends are gonna walk around Time Square for a bit to play. Do you want to join me—I mean us?” Lucas asked.
“S-Sure, that sounds cool,” Desmond blushed.
“Great! I’ll see you tonight around seven.” Lucas walked out of the store and waved at Desmond on the other side of the window.
Desmond found himself waving back at him even after the man was gone. He could feel his face burn red up to his ears and at any moment his sweat would show under his gray shirt, but as long as the source for his perspiration wasn’t there to see him, Desmond didn’t care at all. Troy patted his employee on the back.
“Congrats on the date, dude, but you didn’t get him to buy anything,” said Troy.
The reality of his work came crashing down and Desmond suddenly remembered where he was and what he was meant to do. His head was booming with the young man he just meant and it took his brain a millisecond to remember he came into work that morning.
“You are a hopeless gay, dude,” remarked his boss.
“At least I got a date tonight,” Desmond snapped back.
“It’s because the guy didn’t see me. I bet if I talked to him I would’ve asked him first. All you did was trip over your own tongue.”
Throughout the rest of his day it was hard for Desmond to think of anything else besides his upcoming date. Time worked against him the more his anticipation rose; without another customer entering the store, Desmond was forced to sit behind the counter and wait for four o’clock when he would get off work. Switching between Pokemon Go, watching old videos he’d seen a hundred times before, and checking his Twitter, he finally got through the day and got home as quickly as he could, but sadly he didn’t have time to catch his breath.
The subway ride would take thirty minutes and stopping to eat something would only set him back further; Desmond rushed to dress himself in nice clothes—a short-sleeve blazer with new jeans he’d been saving—and fix his hair before rushing out of his apartment only an hour after barely arriving. His parents didn’t react at all to noise of their son slamming every door and rushing through the apartment; they apparently worked nights and slept through most of the day. A bag of chips at the subway while waiting for the line to move was Desmond’s breakfast and lunch, which he sneakily ate while in his seat.
Desmond’s phone watch told him he was going to be an hour early. Suddenly he felt stupid for rushing in and out of his apartment. He lightly touched the top of his hair and noticed one hair out of line which he quickly fixed while his hairspray was still wet on his head. It had been five years since Desmond’s last date and though the one he was headed to was with a group he couldn’t help feel excited, especially with someone like Lucas who was everything Desmond looked for. He was so thrilled he completely ignored the thought of being with a group of strangers, something that he avoided like the plague. Desmond was lost in a sea of pleasant thoughts.
“You hear about Janice?” A boy asked to his friend. They both boarded the subway and sat next to Desmond. “Do you think she’ll come back?”
“I hope so, man. It’s fucked up, I saw her yesterday in the morning and she was just normal. Now she’s gone,” said the other boy.
Desmond was nudged by one of them. He didn’t care what they were saying, at all, and he got up and sat across from them, bluntly, but they didn’t notice.
The subway came to a stop but Desmond had been standing near the door for two stops, and he was the first one out. It dawned on him, again, that he had time to kill when he was above surface. Nothing the showy famous street had to offer interested him, he certainly wasn’t interested in seeing a show or buying a thirty dollar souvenir, so Desmond sought the nearest McDonald’s simply for a place to charge his already charged phone. He sat closest to the front window, ready to spring up at a moment’s notice.
Loud noises and a million conversations going on at the same time were just a few of the reasons Desmond avoided Time Square and picked a job that was away from its noise. He put in his earphones and was about to start a video when an alert making his phone rumble startled him.
“NEW  YORK CITY MISSING NUMBER REACHES 96. MAYOR PROMPTS STRICTER CURFEW”
Desmond didn’t even read it. Disappearances and the sort were grim subjects that the young man typically lost sleep over due to his anxiety, but on that day Desmond pushed away anything that didn’t matter to him. He tapped his phone so the message would disappear and then he promptly switched the emergency broadcast tab off his phone’s settings out spite.
“Hey, looks like you’re early,” said a distinct voice behind Desmond.
A gentle hand on Desmond’s shoulder sent a shockwave that almost threw him out of his seat. Lucas and his gentle smile stood behind Desmond while Desmond wasn’t prepared to received either of them. Startled, Desmond dropped his phone, but as he lunged forward to grab it midair, Lucas caught it.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” said Lucas.
“N-No it’s cool, it’s just I didn’t expect to see you so early. I only got here because the subway wasn’t so slow this time,” said Desmond, lying to cover his impulsive behavior, from both Lucas and himself.
Lucas sat next to him. Desmond tensed up. Without a proper time to prepare himself he didn’t know what to do next. Even with his last boyfriend Desmond didn’t fully understand how to play the dating game and often times he would check the internet for instructions, but since he didn’t have the time to do as such, Desmond froze and waited for Lucas to speak.
“I guess it’ll just be the two of us tonight,” said Lucas and Desmond felt his heart stop. “Most of my friends have jobs during the week so they said they didn’t want to stay out late tonight. Sorry if you have to deal with only me tonight.”
“No! Actually I prefer this!” Desmond spoke without realizing what words were coming out his mouth.
Desmond could feel his face bordering on the edge between staying at its cocoa nut color and turning bright red. But before he felt regret for showing up, he saw Lucas crack and smile and giggle. Never before had Desmond been calmed down by the sight of a beautiful smile as though it injected morphine into his system; Desmond was sort of thankful he said it.
“Your kind of cute, Desmond,” giggled Lucas.
“H-How did you know my name?” He asked.
“It was on your nametag at the store, you goober. But I also know you from college.”
“Really? Do we have a class together?
“We used to have Music Appreciation together last semester, but you didn’t look all there sometimes. Actually I wanted to ask you then but I never got the chance to. I’m glad I was able to find you at work.”
Desmond suddenly became self-conscious thinking back to that class. It was a shovelware class he took as a prerequisite for another so as soon as it was over he deleted every lesson and memory he got from being in it like a computer; Desmond began to wonder if he ever did or said anything humiliating.
“Can I ask you something? Do you only want to play Pokemon Go?” Desmond asked, hoping they would do more while they were alone.
“Oh, we can do other stuff if you want. I picked it cause we can walk around the city and get to know each other. Besides, I hate all this nosy shit happening,” said Lucas.
“Really? You hate all this stuff too?” Desmond inquired, surprised that another human being shared his opinion. “It’s the one of the reasons I don’t like coming here all the time. Plus everything is so expensive.”
“Totally. But as long as there’s still stupid tourist who want to buy a two dollar shirt for fifteen dollars, Time Square is never gonna lower its prices for shit.”
“It’s like they paid for a five hundred dollar ticket to New York they might as well buy stupid shit you could buy on eBay.”
“And some of the shit isn’t even good. I saw like ten shirts on my way here that I could make by printing a picture and taping it to a blank shirt.”
Desmond and Lucas laughed. He was thankful that the awkwardness between them began to fade little by little the more they talked.
The two young men ventured out of the restaurant when the shadows were stretched thin by the setting sun. But, unsurprisingly, they werent the only ones who also thought of playing the game. The first step outside the building Desmond took nearly had him collide with a teenage girl who was rushing to capture a Pokemon that spawned nearby, and since then, the only ones the two of them saw looking at their phones were playing Pokemon Go. It wasn’t the ideal setting for a date, Desmond thought, but he and Lucas wondered away from Time Square as they walked.
Desmond was delighted to know how much he and Lucas shared in common. Both of them shared a love for Japanese culture—Lucas seemed much more knowledgeable about the aspect of the culture that wasn’t related to anime or games, unlike Desmond who only knew about Japan through the media he ate—as well as sharing a frustration for not being able to find places to get their dose of Japanese media. Lucas seemed to be a fun-loving young man who enjoyed the thought of staying home and watching movies as the perfect date, something the introvert Desmond loved about him right away. The more they talked the more Desmond was convinced he had to make the young man his new boyfriend; and Desmond was happy to see Lucas was interested hearing about him. Desmond didn’t mind much about walking, despite his feet still hurting from standing all day at work, and he could care less about being outside on a hot evening when he was outside with someone like Lucas. Their talking distracted Desmond from the fact that he caught nothing but Rattatas over and over again because he didn’t notice what he was doing the entire time.
They had walked across Time Square and finally came to a rest stop on a bench across the street from Central Park. Desmond didn’t let Lucas know how tired or hungry he was.
“Whoo, man I am sweatin,” said Lucas fanning himself. “What kind of Pokemon did you catch?”            “Oh…uh…” Desmond looked down at the recent activity on his phone which showed how many of the same Pokemon he caught within an hour and a half of playing.
“Hmm, didn’t know Rattata was your favorite,” Lucas teased.
“Shut up, this game just hates me today. It’s been like this since I played in the morning and even at work
“Well I caught six Aerodactyls, six Hunters, and a Kabutop. I’d say Pokemon Go likes me a lot today.” Lucas held his head high with fake pride until Desmond laughed.
The street lights turned on, one by one like candles when the sun disappeared behind the skyscraping towers. While the life of other cities would start to fade as sleep began to rise, New York City was unaffected and Desmond heard the collective conversations of everyone clustered in Time Square like it was the middle of the day. But beneath an orange sky whose color began to turn purple, the city lights like polished jewels, Desmond didn’t mind the noise, in fact the only thing on his mind was the peace and sitting next to Lucas. The two watched the cars zip by them, not really paying attention to anything.
“You know it’s really hard to find someone…like me here. Not just the gay thing, but also someone who likes Japanese stuff…and hates noise,” said Desmond. He was depressed remembering it. “My ex-boyfriend used to hate whenever I told him to keep it down. He’d always tell me I had autism or something because I complained about every little noise.”
“I guess New  York is just a loud city, everyone expects you to be the same. But I’m for sure not like that. I grew up in a loud house, so many people and not enough quiet time, that’s why I can’t stand noise,” said Lucas. He took Desmond’s hand. “I don’t think you have autism.”
Desmond felt his heart beat so hard it could explode out of his chest at any moment. He felt the urge to lean in for a kiss, but he restraint himself—he always learned to kiss on the fourth date. Lucas smiled and so did he. Desmond felt lightheaded then.
“Hey, we got some time before Spritz Bakery closes—they give out bread half price before closing—how about we go for one more Go run through Central Park? There’s bound to be something other than Rattatas there,” suggested Desmond.
“Central Park? You sure?” Lucas asked. “Ain’t there supposed to be all these disappearances and stuff?”
“But look Spritz is right over there,” Desmond pointed to the bakery that was a good distance away but still within viewing distance. His index finger wobbled and there were pauses in his speech. “We can cut across—Central Park and then—we’ll be there in no time.”
Lucas followed Desmond’s finger and pictured the trail for himself. It would be a fairly short dip into the wilderness that is Central Park and most likely they’d be within sight of the rest of the city. But on that day the streets lights inside the park were flickering more rapidly than ever before, it would mean the park would be darker. But regardless of it all, Lucas nodded.
“Sure, I guess we can be quick.”
The streetlights that guided them, illuminating both sides of the trail, produced a mesmerizing glow. Moths and whizzing beetles blocked the light with their bodies and their insect shadows were all over the ground, which were the only things Desmond and Lucas saw while watching their phones. Desmond was fully immersed in his phone, but Lucas was cautious enough to look up from his phone and he noticed they were the only ones in the park, something out of place while there were still light in the sky. The echoes of their rubber soles against the solid stone path traveled faster than they did. Shadows of bushes and tree branches followed them everywhere they went.
“This place is pretty creepy at night, huh?” Lucas asked. He was clinging close to Desmond, accidentally bumping into his shoulder as they walked.
“Not…really. It gets…like this sometimes but…nothing happens…” Desmond said.
He couldn’t put it to words but Desmond felt strange out of nowhere. The flickers of the streetlights irritated his eyes and he couldn’t keep looking at his phone without tears overflowing out of his eyelids. Desmond’s body was distant to him, each limp step rocked Desmond to his core as if his legs moving and feeling his foot touch the ground came as a shock to him. His mind was in a hazy with thoughts floating away just as soon as they appeared. Everything felt out of place to him, nothing was normal, and yet Desmond didn’t feel the need to question it or be alarmed by it.
The lights of the city were distant, but neither of the two boys noticed it. Lucas saw the lights and he saw the trail in front of him and he saw the end of the park up ahead, and then he’d go back to his phone. Nothing changed from when he last looked up, or so he thought.
“So what was your old boyfriend like?” Lucas felt compelled to say to disrupt the eerie silence between them.
“Oh…her…I mean him…yeah he was…a bitch. I liked his…her…his red hair,” murmured Desmond.
“You got a thing for red heads? I feel honored you picked me then,” said Lucas, feeling at ease then.
Desmond’s laugh was weak.
Suddenly Lucas’ eyes were caught by something appearing on his screen. A silhouetted Pokemon appeared in a few steps in front of him. It had a shape Lucas was familiar with and he could identify it straight away by the way the little pixel sprite flapped its wings. Another Aerodactyl, he thought, but he wondered why it was still a shadow if he not only caught many before but also because he was so close to it.
“Look look Desmond, an Aerodactyl! Something’s up though, it doesn’t normally look like this. Maybe it’s a shiny or something!” Lucas exclaimed.
“Whoa…maybe…” Desmond responded.
Lucas watched the sprite drift closer to them. Even if it was trivial, and he thought so, Lucas couldn’t help feeling excited. Each flap of the sprite’s wings sped up his brisk pace. Finally it was on top of his and the game started. At first he saw an Aerodactyl, no different than any he caught and he was disappointed, but he caught the creature regardless.
“Another dud. Man, that’s really strange, I thought for sure—”
“YOU CAUGHT MISSINGO!” The message read to him.
“What the—? Desmond, are you seeing this?” Lucas held his phone in front of Desmond whose eyes blinked in a strange way as he looked at the screen.
“Missigno?” Desmond read.
“That’s that weird glitch Pokemon that was supposed to be in Blue and Red right? How did it end up on Pokemon Go? Maybe it’s some kind of easter egg or something,” said Lucas.
Music. The piercing chime of music appeared like a whisper slowly becoming loud. Lucas darted in every direction in search of the source, and it was then he saw where they were. Desmond’s feet were dipped on the edge of a lake—the lake beneath the unmistakable Gapstow Bridge. The trail that he watched since they entered the park had turned to dirt and grass without him realizing and he was frightened because his eyes never left the ground. Everything was pitch black around them and he could barely see Desmond next to him if not for his phone’s light.
“Whoa whoa, Desmond, what the hell just happened? Why are we—?” Lucas stopped.
“What’s…w-wrong?” Desmond weakly asked.
Lucas had to stop because his heart stopped. The music—it took a second for Lucas to remember it but once he did there was no mistaking where it came from and what or stories came with it. The music was coming from his phone, but Lucas was too disturbed to notice.
“This is Lavender Town music,” gasped Lucas. He dropped his phone to grab a hold of both Desmond’s shoulders. “What the hell is going on?!”
Desmond was unresponsive. Lucas released him and Desmond fell to the ground like a corpse. The young man still standing screamed out loud.
The darkness grew. Soon New York City was gone, the sun was gone, and there wasn’t a single light for miles as if it was the deepest hour of the night. Lucas turned sharply to the lake, the bridge but even they were gone. And Desmond, the boy Lucas was sure was still on the ground, was gone.
His chest puff out of his soaked shirt. His short orange hair fell over his eyes as he whipped his head back and forth. Lucas almost couldn’t breath, fear had swallowed him and turned his body numb.
Suddenly he heard the pitter-patter of feet in the shadows behind him. He saw nothing where he expected to see the shadow of a person or people coming to him—he thought they were drawn by his scream. But the sound of feet were split into a thousand different sounds like wings flapping. He heard high-pitched squeaks and his first thought was bats, but with his phone on the ground, facing up, by the dim light he saw a rat leaving the darkness to come into view. One rat was followed by another and another and another until an army of countless vermin swarmed the ground in front of Lucas.
Lucas grabbed a rock and threw it at them, frantically. The rats dispersed to avoid the attack but they returned to their formation, facing the young man with their hollow eyes towards him. The music grew louder.
The young man froze for a single hand went over his shoulder. To maintain his sanity, Lucas instinctively assumed it belonged to Desmond. He reached to touch it—to confirm it was him—but the hand he touched felt smooth, too smooth without indents or crevices found in human hands.
           “D-D-Des?” Lucas whimpered.
“Cent,” replied the being in a voice so chilling and grotesque Lucas felt his heart collapse.
Lucas’ body was slowly becoming enveloped by the darkness. The rats swarmed on his feet and climbed up his legs, and he saw them the entire time. But he could not move his body. He could not scream. And as the final seconds of the young man’s life trickled down, in his head he whispered the name that seemed to have started everything.
           Missingno.
At the dawn when the city wasn’t fully awake, two adults scoured holding flashlights Central Park. They were extra quiet and conscious about every step they took as they followed the path until they came to the bridge, but they didn’t cross it. The man and the woman walked alongside the edge of the river, a trail that they would know by memory for all the times they had walked it before, until they found a sleeping young man on the ground. His mouth and neck were covered in blood and his clothes were stained by red fingerprints, yet the young man slept peacefully, unaware of what happened. The man and woman—parents—cleaned the blood of Desmond’s mouth and carried him out of Central Park. They shared grim faces to each other, for they knew this was the ninety-seventh time this happened.

Today was good.
At work I only had three dogs, so that was lame. But when I got off I bought Misa a new collar and a card board scratching post with an ice cream on it for her birfday. She turned nine today and my heart can’t handle it. Desmond picked me up from work and when we got to my house my father was being an asshole. Picking fights with me and no one seemed to care about singing happy birfday to Misa. SO, I took it upon myself and made her cake and fed her. She loves everything she got - which is awesome since she’s so hard to shop for. I was supposed to cook dinner for everyone but I just had to leave due to my dad. When we got into the car to leave, I cried. I was so upset that it didn’t go like it normally does for my kids birfday’s. Instead of talking about it, Desmond took it upon himself to play music and make me laugh. He sang off tune and kept nudging me and making me laugh. He played covers of my favorite songs and sang them to me in funny voices. After that we went to Game Stop and I found a POP figure of Bat Girl for only $8 soooo got that. No questions asked haha. Then we went to Panda Express and he paid for it. We sat outside during the sunset and ate and played Pokemon Go while we talked. We then went to the old Target where there’s a gym and took turns taking it over - so it was like we were battling each other. After that we went to Walmart and I got a few things and he got some Lego’s. (Nerd) We went to the apartment. Fucked for an hour. Which was awesome. I love having sex with him. The fact that I can keep him going? He’ll be worn out and all I have to do is keep moving or suck his dick and he’s still down for it. It’s awesome hahaha.
But overall. Today was good.
Happy Birfday to my beautiful daughter, Misa Misa Marie Armani Hardy <3. Mama loves you oh so much. You’re amazing, sweet and smart. You’re the love of my life baby<3
Thank you Desmond for trying so hard after I voiced some issues I was having. I didn’t expect for you to want to try to do things differently than what you’re used to, just to help me emotionally. I appreciate it.
