I am going to try and put this in as few words as possible, because my roommate and I spent an hour talking about this today; but there is truly nothing more incredible to me than human creativity.
Like, you’re telling me someone made this? You’re telling me this art came from someone’s own hand? You’re telling me this story came from someone’s mind? You’re telling me that someone as flawed and mortal and lost as me made this?
There is a beauty in math and in science, I am not here to argue that. But mathematics existed long before us. Science will exist long after us. And while the knowledge we have is a wonder, it is not ours. We did not make one and one equal two, we only learned and accepted that it did.
But our art is not universal. Our music was born through us. Our writing will die with us. And there is so much more beauty in knowing that we have made something. People have language and culture and poetry not because it was fact, but by our own whim and design.
This is something AI can never fulfill. An algorithm cannot create, it can only compile. A computer generated image has no link to us, to human emotion. To human flaw and struggle and passion.
Art is beautiful, and creation is the most powerful thing a person can do. Your stories, your art, hell, your fanfic and original characters, they exist not because of universal laws of math and physics, but because of your mind and skill; and if that isn’t the most amazing thing in the world, then what is?

-Preacher's nightmare-
Deer : What the fuck are you doing?
Magdalena : I have truly converted to the word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . I am a woman of God now . No it/its pronouns , no more superiority complex , no more fooling little Adam .
No . More . Killing
Preacher , waking up : *hellish screaming*
Honestly yeah, gaining humanity and choosing to live like a human being is horrifying to Preacher. It really doesn't understand any of the alternates that develop/have humanity in them (alt!Cesar, Six, and Adam). It's one of the reasons I've really enjoyed exploring Preacher's character in my AU notes - it represents how alternates function as beings and just how much of a change it really is for them to develop humanity; how it really isn't supposed to happen. Like, Preacher is just very interesting to me, and how it goes about trying to make sure Adam drops the whole humanity thing and embraces being what Preacher claims "he's always been". That humanity and alternates just cannot mix or co-exist and that is the reason why Adam's life has been so miserable and hard - it surely can't be because Lucifer intentionally made it so Adam's life would be that way at all.
Preacher is just hellbent on alternates being what they were always made to be and that any alternate that goes against the order of things is 'broken' and must be 'reformed'.
Idk, it's just really cool to have a character that represents what Adam is intended to be, whilst alternates like Six and alt!Cesar exist as representations of what Adam could choose instead, if that makes sense?
Anyway, sorry for the ramble lmao

honestly if all the people over my many years of living were in fact correct in their horrible horrible assumptions I was the most evil despicable inhuman person.
I’d still not care,
does the dog that bites because it’s only known pain evil?
Is the cat that kills a bird to show you it’s love evil?
is the plants that grow through the pipes in the ground cracking and puncturing them evil?
is the curious shark evil for taking a inquisitive bite?
Are the strikes that take the young and skewer them on thorns evil?
are the parasites that depend on its host evil for having no choice?
Am I evil or unsavory, who knows.
but if people wish to dehumanize me I shall make myself happy with the creatures you call evil, the ones who are scary and cruel the ones who hurt and chew and claw.
for we are one in the same, and I will happily accept that from you.

i literally don't talk about it much but i do often think about the cut ahit character, tim the time ceo. he had a rather silly (yet somewhat relatable) backstory and concept for his character but it would have been neat if we could see more characters from where hat kid comes from.
also i really liked his design:
he seemed like such a lovely character

i really need to draw khan and emmet hanging out bc they would be such buddies. ingo hates how quickly they bonded bc khan took one look at emmet, at how excited emmet is to battle, and seemed to Immediately like him (it only bc khan had already bonded w ingo, but like hell will he ever admit that. that proves he has emotions! he has to hide those.) khan & emmet battling each other. khan takes over for ingo sometimes on the multi trains except he and emmet get so into battles that they need a chaperone to keep them from getting too rowdy bc somehow (???) they've managed to destroy a couple of train cars??? khan challenges the subway himself (he battles using himself but also his pokemon. he'd rather battle using himself, but ingo and emmet get awfully concerned when he faints so he stops doing it so much). khan and emmet discuss battle tactics (khan insists "offense is the best defense" and "go balls to the walls immediately on attack" and emmet argues for better strategizing and well rounded move pools) and help each other train, offering suggestions and tips and "hey, let's try this maneuver" or "i think it would be better if you did this move first".
not that they don't enjoy an off day, but they definitely bonded well over battles.

AH i havent talked abt the frontierists here have i. very secretive sect of alamanni humans looking into Dreamed Realities (pocket realities born by dreams- the purposeful creation of them by eldritch deities Is possible but is also considered way blasphemous. near every dreamed reality by alamanni folk is born of essentially the most advanced form of maladaptive daydreaming possible and is unintentional. way hard to discern between them and real vivid Normal dreams). humanitys predecessors (taught the secret of intentionally dreaming up new lands by a select few eldritch beasties seeking refuge from the rest) sought refuge in a dreamed reality to get away from both the incessant typically deadly curiosity of the vast majority of eldritch deities and their incredibly shit living situation (forced into subterranean living bc of the whole corpse of the existence dragon and all of its curious parasites hanging up in the sky staring down at them, resources running low over the years with them unable to leave for more bc of the venettes- already sentient animals transformed into more human shapes by the eldritch in an attempt to get closer to that hidden race) and their shed mortal bodies upon successful exodus became the first humans so theyve got this tiny innate knack for intentional exploration that other alamanni folk dont. through the gathering of just abt every bit of still surviving texts on dreamed realities (WAY sparse, both thru the passage of time + the fact that those first eldritch deities desperate enough to part with such secrets were long killed by their more pious fellows), the frontierists understand the mechanics of it all Just enough to be able to deliberately enter and explore this 'final frontier' which they seek to put to page and Conquer
