Hi! This question has been noodling in my head for a few weeks, and I’ve been really curious to hear your opinion. I’ve appreciated your very thoughtful commentary on the ways the online left in particular have hurt the real and concerted efforts that have been made to navigate through the Gaza war in support of Palestine. I’ve seen a lot of outrage online about Biden bypassing congress in order to make another emergency weapons sale to Israel, which does indeed read as counter to helping to the Palestinians facing endless and indiscriminate violence. I understand that you might not want to answer this ask, because the work that you already do in your life offline and the work that you do here on tumblr to respond to and explain these issues is exhausting enough. Thanks so much for your time and your thoughtful contributions! It’s always really helped me remember to slow down and think critically about the media I consume.

Because you have asked this thoughtfully and in good faith, I will return the favor and give you a careful and extensive answer to the best of my ability. However, obligatory top-of-post disclaimer that I will disable reblogs at the first hint of any wankery in the notes and I will not answer any follow-ups or secondary asks at this time (unless I decide to do so, but I engage with this topic sparingly, judiciously, and only in small doses, so don't count on it).

First, let me say that the moment, I disagree with substantial portions of how Biden is handling the two main foreign-policy crises (Ukraine and Gaza). In regard to Ukraine, I think he's backed off, taken his foot off the gas, and otherwise given Republicans ammunition to keep delaying or watering down a new aid bill, is refusing to disburse military aid packages from the $4 billion of funding remaining that was previously approved by Congress, hasn't sent long-range ATACMS and other critical military hardware that might bring the war to an end sooner, and is not (as of the moment, though recent reporting suggests this might change) pushing hard enough for frozen Russian assets to be transferred to Ukraine for military and/or humanitarian financial assistance. However, I am also aware (unlike, it seems, much of the left-leaning internet) that I am basing these judgments only on my personal impressions, on what is reported (or not reported) in the media (which has plenty of its own problems) and otherwise what is formed in my role as an ordinary American citizen without any kind of special, classified, high-level, or government access. I know nothing more than any of you, and I also know that a lot of what goes on behind closed doors does not appear on Political Twitter and/or the Washington Post or the Guardian or Daily Kos or whatever other aggregate sources of information I or any left-leaning person typically consumes. So it's highly possible (and this is my cautious academic instinct speaking) that I do not, in fact, have a full picture of events. There are also contributing factors that Biden cannot simply handwave aside, even if he did, say, dip back into the $4 billion pot in the meantime. Congress will need to pass a new funding bill for Ukraine aid and the MAGA Republicans have been enthusiastically blocking it to the point where Putin's cronies on Russian state TV praise them effusively for it. We all know about the Republicans and Russia's mutual love affair. So.

The same goes for Gaza, and even more because we have already had reporting about how the Biden administration is walking a behind-the-scenes tightrope in a number of seemingly impossible tasks: keeping the war from spreading to a larger theater, pressuring Netanyahu to dial down, y'know, the rampant genocide (when Netanyahu notoriously doesn't like Biden, was very close with Trump, and would be happy to keep the war going in order to boost Trump's chances of being re-elected and save Netanyahu himself from his own criminal prosecutions), and pursuing a complex policy toward the state of Israel that does not follow the antisemitic Western Online Left's fever dream of "Israel suddenly disappears overnight and falls into the ocean and all Jews die or disappear." We have had multiple credibly sourced reports about this. Blinken is back in the Middle East right now trying to keep the war from spreading. The US under Biden has criticized Israel's essentially empty policy document for post-war Gaza as not being remotely feasible (because it's so vague) and gone so far as to voice support for a two-state solution with Palestinian self-determination (which is itself quite radically different from previous administrations). However, they have also vetoed UN ceasefire resolutions and other essentially meaningless political theater (the UN as a whole has been ruthlessly exposed in the last few years for being completely useless) that are easy to gin up outrage about, and that's what the internet focuses on, rather than any of the other complicated actions taking place.

All of this is to say that no, in fact, I don't blindly support everything the Biden administration is doing in regard to either Ukraine or Israel right now, but I actually have a sense of real-world perspective about it and understand that there are certain immutable realities that we are working with and which will not be erased by some absolute jackasses yelling at Biden in a historically black church at the commemoration of an anti-black terrorist attack. Likewise, as I've said it before and I'll say it again, and as plenty of other people have noticed and pointed out, the Western left is using this as an orgy of pseudo-revolutionary fervor that focuses on using Hamas as a proxy for their own fantasies of violent uprising against their own governments. Because while yes, anti-zionism and antisemitism are two distinct things and represent different aims and goals, it's become more or less irrelevant in allegedly pro-Palestine Western leftist spaces. It's just increasingly rabid, accelerationist, and nihilistic antisemitism all the time, or the obvious usage of "Zionist" to mean "Jew." It's not good. There is no concept of actual restorative justice for Palestinians or other people, such as Ukrainians, Syrians, Uyghurs, Taiwanese, etc, either undergoing genocide or facing the threat of it, because Western leftists have latched onto this cause solely as a stick to beat the Democratic Party with and have no actual moral interest or concern in stopping genocide elsewhere in the world or repudiating it as a method overall. They just want the state of Israel (which they characterize as a "proxy state for white western colonialism" despite the many, many things historically, religiously, and politically wrong with that statement, because it means it now Contains the Right Buzzwords to Oppose It) to be destroyed altogether in the name of "opposing colonialism," but it really seems to be all about opposing Jews. Hmm.

Simply put, Biden is not ever going to pursue a policy of "let's totally abandon Israel tomorrow, never sell it any weapons or allow it to defend its own civilians, and agree that Hamas is actually a good representation or advocate for the Palestinian people" in the way a number of Western Online Leftists seem to think he should do. There is still the fact that Israeli civilians do exist and that Hamas has continued to launch missiles at them daily, inconvenient as that fact might be for the Hamas fanboys (and fangirls) who now populate much of what passes for Western leftist discourse spaces. (Either that or they don't care, because in their view, Israeli civilians are fully acceptable collateral damage by virtue of simply living in Israel in the first place, which -- yikes. Fucking yikes. That is all.) The number of people professing to be lifelong leftists who are Just Shocked at all the antisemitism, or thinking that any and all antisemitism is just artificially introduced into leftist spaces by bad-faith right-wing/Nazi psyops either has not spent any actual time around leftists, or (more likely) simply does not listen to what they openly say. The antisemitism is virulent, constant, and only getting worse. On the most basic level, regardless of the other difficulties around the founding of Israel as a state in 1948 and the fact that doing so on some of the most bitterly religiously, politically, ethnically, and culturally contested territory in the world for over two thousand years was always going to be a massive clusterfuck, the fact of its immediate post-Holocaust creation simply cannot be ignored the way many Online Leftists do. Israel exists because of the worst antisemitic mass murder in recorded history (and that's a high bar). That fact must be incorporated into any actual discussions about its right either to exist or to protect its own civilians. But this gets turned into "Israel exists only as a puppet state of white western colonialists" which is just bad on so, so many levels.

The collective Western Online Leftist feeling seems to be that Hamas are innocent and wronged freedom fighters who are begging for a ceasefire and the cruel Israelis aren't granting them one. This is not true. Hamas has rejected multiple ceasefire opportunities, and continued to launch missiles and retaliatory attacks, because they are terrorists and they do not want or represent any serious opportunity to negotiate in the framework of western liberal democracy. They are treated as helpless woobified blorbos by much of the Western leftist-leaning internet. They are not. In that case, Biden bypassing Congress to sell Israel weapons (which was just something like 100 million of artillery shells, which is not nothing but still not a huge systematic thing like, say, Reagan's Iran-Contra scandal) is not great. I do not support anything Israel is doing to Gaza. It is abhorrent. However, there are reasons for Biden to provide some limited amount of weapons to Israel without congressional approval that do not automatically and mindlessly equate to BIDEN SUPPORTS TOTAL GENOCIDE IN GAZA!!!!!!1 Especially when as I've said, the Online Leftists only care about stopping genocide when it fits their political self-righteousness, and absolutely not at all the rest of the time.

This is representative of the fact that Western Online Leftism has now completed its all-out descent into blind Noam Chomskyism. Chomsky has never met a "leftist" or "anti-Western" genocide he couldn't deny, excuse, or openly cheerlead (going all the way back to the 1970s and Pol Pot/the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and going up to the minute with Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Palestine). Noam Chomsky is the leftist Henry Kissinger. His ethics and morals are equally abhorrent, he's just as willing to justify total genocide in the name of advancing his preferred political ideology, and while there were (justifiably) celebrations and gloating memes across Tumblr when Kissinger finally bit the dust, Chomsky's beliefs are replicated with slavish adoration in many other Tumblr spaces and spread in some form or another to the rest of the website, which now takes them as leftist gospel (and let's not even talk about Twitter). This represents my absolute frustration with the fact that Western Online Leftism has devolved to such a degraded, mindless, useless, and malevolent level that "cheerlead for any anti-western/Leftist TM terrorist group or state" is taken to be the be-all and end-all of their moral philosophy. Someone remarked that ISIS peaked too early; if they were still at the height of their powers today, they would have a legion of devoted white so-called progressive Twitter users shilling earnestly and angrily for them, and Christ, isn't that the fucking truth.

I know we live in a hard, frightening, complex, and difficult world, and it's hard to sort out what our moral responsibility and action should be at any given time, especially since the answer is always so frustratingly partial and incomplete. Nobody of basic good sense and decency wants to see Gaza leveled while the Israeli state continues to apply a number of violently cruel collective punishments even outside the actual daily bombing of civilians. But for the love of god, let's get rid of the idea that the continued mindless violence doesn't benefit Hamas (because it does; unsurprisingly, sympathy for their cause has soared in Gaza) as much as it does Israel, or that Hamas is some kind of benevolent peacemaker that is being thwarted by the cruel imperialist US/West. And going back to the incident that prompted you to send me this ask: white leftists have often and repeatedly demonstrated their withering disdain for black people, Democratic voters, "mainstream" Americans, and anyone else doesn't buy into the twisted tankie fantasy land where getting rid of Biden would somehow be a massive coup for social justice (by getting Trump, now openly announcing at every turn that he will be a dictator, back into office! Very praxis, much justice. Wow.)

In short: if you, a white person, stand up in Mother Emanuel AME -- one of the most sacred sites for Black churchgoers, who are indeed often heavily Democratic voters -- in the middle of a remembrance service for victims of white supremacist terrorism, after the Black pastor has asked you not to protest inside the church out of respect for the Black community coming together to relive its trauma -- just so you can heckle Biden and feel good about yourself, then Jesus Christ. You don't care about restorative justice for people of color, or literally any justice at all, much less "stopping genocide." You just want to use them as props for your Chomsky cosplay revolutionary fantasies and your sense of self-righteous superiority over literally everyone else, regardless of the real-world consequences. So I have no hesitation whatsoever in telling those people to get fucked. Often and repeatedly.

what's been happening at the otw?

so it seems that on twitter and possibly tumblr, people have been hearing things about the otw board/election stuff without really knowing what's going on. a lot of the different issues get conflated and confused with each other, and things that aren't related get connected while things that are related don't. i'm making this post to make things clear, since i've been following some of it (primarily the otw board stuff) from the outside so that people know exactly what is going on, and to reduce the spread of misinformation.

a lot of this information comes from this dreamwidth journal, which has been documenting many testimonies and receipts, for full context.

the election season

every year — for anyone out of touch with how the organization of transformative works (otw) politics go, yes this occurs every year as seats can be held for 3 years maximum but resignations happen, leading to staggering — the org has an election season for the main board of directors. they oversee all of the otw's fan projects, including ao3 and fanlore. there are 7 seats, one of whom is the president (kari dayton).

if a chair resigns, then their seat may remain empty to the end of the term or to the next election season, depending on when they resign. if they resign early, a runner-up from the previous election may take their seat.

elections generally take place every summer, but the actual changing of hands occurs in in the fall. board directors are known by their real life name; this has always been the policy. prior to this year, when candidacies were announced, it was with their full name. however, due to the csem attack emails that were targeting volunteers last may, it seems that they added a layer of protection for the candidates this year, and initially announced them with their first name and last initial.

this election season, there were originally 4 chairs that were going to be vacant and needed to be filled. there were also originally 7 candidates, some of whom applied for candidacy last minute. one of the candidates withdrew early (mid june), so this came down to 6.

in order to vote in an election, you must donate a minimum $10usd prior to a certain date in june (this year being june 30) and tick the box that says you want to become a member.

the republican candidate

on july 24, people started spreading the fact that one of the otw board candidates, audrey richards, is a republican. this is true: she ran for a republican seat for the us house of reps in 2022 (and prior to that, as an independent in 2020.) this can be seen on her ballotpedia. we know that she is the same audrey richards, because her ballotpedia page also connects her with the otw.

let me be clear: this is still in line with org policy, in terms of her real name getting released. their full names were going to be released to the public at some point, and as far as i know the org did not state that they would hide their full names until after the election.

many people, especially americans on the ao3 (full disclosure: i am one of the americans on ao3) were very wary about this, because the republican party has been endorsing increasingly dangerous laws and policies along the lines of fascism and transphobia. audrey running as a republican does not necessarily mean that she agrees with these values; however, because she, as a white woman, felt comfortable enough to align herself with a party that does, many lgbt people and people of color had every right to have reservations about her. her statements about ukraine (disagreeing with biden sending arms) and her involvement with "children and screens" was also brought under scrutiny: see this post by discluded. (i am not endorsing discluded's post; it simply cites some concerns with audrey)

due to claims of harassment (i am also not saying whether or not they occurred), she resigned from candidacy and from the org as a whole on july 25, declaring "congrats on the witch hunt." (x)

the otw then released a statement dissuading people from harassing board candidates. this was not taken well, as they were completely silent last year regarding unsubstantiated rumors about tiffany g, a previous election candidate who's chinese, with views that many were not comfortable with, to the point of saying that she might be a spy for the chinese government. this was spread by chinese- and english-speaking users alike. the otw was silent about this. however, this year, many volunteers internally have said that the otw's silence towards harassment is damning, and in any case, even in audrey's, they should speak up against it, resulting in their public statement.

reprimanding a volunteer of color

also on july 24, coincidentally enough, a volunteer of color made a post about receiving a letter about constructive corrective action procedure (ccap) from the tag wrangling team, due to making volunteers uncomfortable by speaking up about racism in the org.

the tl;dr of why they received the letter boiled down to:

talking about the org's racism in a ~certain way~ in public channels where volunteers could not leave made some vols uncomfortable

sharing internal chatlogs and correspondences to the public. EXCEPT THE THINGS SHE SHARED WERE HER OWN MESSAGES. and before july 25, the only OTHER thing she had shared to the public was the otw's direction on how volunteers should approach getting csem, from the spam attack last year, on a comment in a news post - which is an email that ALL VOLUNTEERS GOT. because none of that was public! no one knew what the org's approach to the spam attack in order to protect the volunteers was! she disclosed it so randoms who are not volunteers would know!

"outing" a volunteer, except she DIDN'T, because the volunteer had outed THEMSELVES in the chat program previously and repeatedly, then changed their icon at some point to indicate they didn't want to link the identities anymore. but there had never been a formal announcement or request not to link the identities, and who was supposed to take an icon change as an indicator of that, so IN THE CHAT PROGRAM (not in public!) kutti made a reference to something that person (under their real name) said in public (under their fannish handle/icon) and got reprimanded for it

emyn a has since made a post about how kutti's general behavior in the chat has made him uncomfortable and was one of the reasons why he withdrew his candidacy, and that he supported the fact that she received the ccap. he stated that alex tischer's abrasiveness (see below) was probably because of where alex is from, in europe. he also said that kutti outed a withdrawn candidate (probably audrey) in the chat program, which was not public information prior to his post. the rest of his claims are presently not substantiated, and most of what i have read about his accusations boil down to tone policing.

EDIT: kutti clarified that emyn got her mixed up with another volunteer of color in one of these claims. she says that she has never talked about audrey either internally nor externally, and does not know what other handles she would link audrey to. she also specified that emyn's accusation of her using "provocative descriptors, such as 'disgusting'" was in context of her criticizing the org's handling of azarias — a volunteer who handled many csem tickets last year, then got their account suspended without warning, and then got implicated for distribution in an org-wide letter, which, yeah, is pretty fucking disgusting!

the alex problem

i mentioned the ccap above because kutti references it in her post about alex tischer here, and when i linked to it on twitter people were confused as to what ccap meant and why it was significant. and i don't think kutti's treatment should go ignored either, because i think it signifies a larger problem that the org has.

and one of these very glaring problems is alex tischer. alex tischer was on the board this year, being their last year of their current term. they were on the board previously too, from 2015-2018. tischer has been called a "missing stair" by multiple volunteers, and a huge problem in the org's function.

more specifically, and as confirmed by a former volunteer i talked to on an ao3 post (wherein they corrected me for conflating two incidents), some incidents that occurred with tischer were:

in 2020, when mainland chinese vols were encouraged to do more recruitment for volunteers on weibo (a mainland china site), the otw had added two new language tags on ao3: tai-gi (taiwanese) and cantonese. the vols were also encouraged to endorse this — not specifically by alex — on weibo. china and taiwan have VERY high geopolitical tensions, and the vols endorsing the addition of the taiwanese language on a mainland chinese site could potentially put them in danger. when they expressed this, alex had told them to "not appease a shitty government," or something along those lines — indicating alex did not care for their safety in a heavily censored country, over sticking it to the man or whatever. (alex is white/german and lives in the uk.)

in 2023, separate from this issue, the otw had decided to shut down the transformative works weibo page without consulting the chinese volunteers. the chinese vols were very pissed and protested, first in english. and then, when their concerns weren't being heard, they started in protesting in chinese. this prompted alex to reply to them, in german, "We can throw all sorts of things at each other, but if we don't agree on a lingua franca, we won't achieve much" (Wir können uns gegenseitig alle möglichen Dinge an den Kopf werfen aber wenn wir uns nicht auf eine Lingua Franca einigen erreichen wir nicht viel.) which, in my opinion, is pretty fucking irrelevant to chinese volunteers not getting their voices heard for something that they had every right to get their voice heard on, and basically told them to "speak english" when they had been speaking english previously and getting ignored!!!

a discussion from the otw slack in 2020 was leaked, wherein a black volunteer asked a question and expressed interest in knowing the diversity of the board of directors. not the diversity of all volunteers. they immediately got dogpiled on by multiple volunteers, alex included, saying that asking for such a thing could endanger the safety of volunteers (which is pretty fucking ironic considering alex's treatment of the chinese vols), the black volunteer should've backread a day's worth of chatlogs, saying that asking about diversity was chilling, etc. i cannot summarize in full how furious this chatlog makes me, so if you are capable i do recommend you to read it to see how utterly defensive everyone got at a simple question about diversity.

these things are relevant because on july 25, kutti made a post about alex — because other volunteers had been asking in the otw slack about kutti's situation, and a volunteer compared how kutti was treated, for speaking up about racism, to how alex was treated, who was consistently xenophobic and as far as anyone knew, did not receive a reprimand for it. alex then doubled down on their previous comments.

this prompted kutti's post, both to publicize this incident and to call for alex's immediate suspension.

board directors resign

there were, at the time, five chairs on board, due to the fact that two had resigned previously (heather in may 2023, jess in nov 2022; neither were replaced). after this incident, volunteers were furious and backed kutti up and also called for alex to resign, or for the other chairs to kick alex out.

two chairs in particular, antonius and natalia, were already on hiatus. they were also pressured to kick alex out, due to the fact that they were only standing chairs, not active, so volunteers wanted them to either come off hiatus and start the process to get alex out, or if they could not do their chair duties, resign. i believe the board needs a 2/3rds vote to kick someone off as a chair, which is why they were brought into the conversation — 2/5 chairs would not be enough.

on july 26, natalia did reprimand alex's behavior in the chat according to some sources. an anonymous source said that both natalia and antonius had started their resignation process prior to the alex-kutti incident; they made this public and official after/during this conversation.

on july 27, alex also said that they had resigned "yesterday." it is unclear if they only resigned from the board, or the org as a whole, considering they were still the webs chair, a tag wrangler, and on the translation and support committees.

all three board resignations were made public in an official announcement on july 27; natalia and antonius's were made first, with alex's as an add-on shortly afterward. however, as alex and antonius's spots were already outgoing, this has only opened up ONE slot for the election: a fifth one. and there are five candidates.

what happens next?

with five vacant seats and five candidates, this means that the election is uncontested. however, two of the five candidates will serve partial terms (the ones who get less votes; 2 years each), while three of the five candidates will serve full terms (3 years each.) if you've donated at least $10 to the otw in the past year, you're eligible to vote. a comprehensive schedule can be found here.

by the way, this is not the first time most of, if not a full board has resigned almost all at once. this occurred previously in 2015, due to some of the following incidents (these may not be all of the reasons for the mass resignation, but definitely for many of them):

insanely incompetent financial handling wherein they had donations up to six figures held in paypal accounts

the removal of sanders, a candidate during that election season, because she had resigned from her role as treasurer recently, thus supposedly making her ineligible to run (candidates must have served as a volunteer in any position for 2 years), even though she was still on the dev committee. she did not resign from the candidacy herself. the election committee had objected to this but was overridden by the board. sanders is black.

a board chair had gone under a sockpuppet account during multiple candidate chats asking questions "as a concerned member," even though she was board chair, indicating a conflict of interest.

during the open board meeting in november (after the election), without warning the board decided to appoint andrea, the candidate who got the least number of votes that election year, to a spot that was vacated a whole year before. it was hard for me to find context around this situation but from what i've gathered, andrea was already friends with the present board and the newly appointed board had not yet settled in. when this was met with appropriate backlash and accusations of power grabbing, this is when the entire board at the time — minus the new elects — resigned.

i bring this up to show that the otw has never been a perfect organization — rather, it has always had its problems. i did not pay much attention to these incidents previously, but considering how the current election season has become more and more prominent on my social media, i feel that it's important for me to be in the know now, and to spread this information to others.

i am not a volunteer (although i used to be a tag wrangler for a brief time.) i am not speaking on behalf of anyone mentioned or linked in this post except for myself. i strongly believe in making an organization's policies public and for as much information to be accessible as possible, for a site that i'm an active member on and love to use. i believe in ensuring the safety, comfort, and consideration of volunteers of color. i am making this post because i believe the otw deserves to be transparent like any other organization. please feel free to share and discuss as you see fit; and if any of this information is incorrect, please let me know asap!

during the candidate chats, a chinese candidate got an extremely inappropriate question from a present chair/former or present board member, breaching on org privacy (even though kutti got a ccap for less), a clear attempt to attack the candidate by making them appear unsafe and immature, and with a lie that put their ACTUAL SAFETY at risk. see this post, and this thread on twitter

There's a tragedy happening in Iran, we're being shot in the streets, my brothers and sisters are dying, my government is committing war crimes and as a fellow human being I'm desperately asking for your help to raise awareness.

Mahsa Amini was a 22-year-old woman who was brutally murdered by the Islamic Republic of Iran's so-called "morality police." Her crime? Showing hair in public and "dressing inappropriately." Any human being with a pair of working eyes who has seen pictures of her prior to her murder can see that not only was her dress not inappropriate, but also that she (and a lot of women in Iran) had covered herself more than any other woman in any other part of world is obligated to.This sparked fury among the people of Iran and a wave of nation-wide protests broke out as the result. But don't get it wrong. This was only the straw that broke the camel's back and was the result of 43 years of unmitigated oppression and cruelty that the people of Iran have been subjected to. Every Iranian is branded a Muslim from birth and they're not given a choice. You cannot identify as an atheist and other religious minorities are treated horribly with a lot of their rights stripped from them. There's been a long history of cruelty against Bahai people in Iran, for example. We're not forced to be muslims in name only. We're also forced to act like muslims and learn all the muslim teachings, hijab being one of the many ideals shoved down our throat. We don't want the same thing to happen to our children and people again. If you hear no more news from Iran, things haven't settled down. We are being silently killed off and executed.You might think you don't have anything to do with this, but think again about why you all involved yourselves in the war between Ukraine and Russia. They are normal people who want nothing more than a normal life, which is what the Islamic regime has taken from them. Thank you for voting in my latest poll! I'm surprised and glad to see that Next Big Adventure won by a landslide! Seeing as we have the New Moon in Sagittarius on the 12th, it makes sense that we are collectively interested in seeing what the next chapter has in store. Please note that some of these other topics mentioned in my polls may appear in future pick a card readings, so stay tuned.

So without further ado, let's get into our piles! Pretend as though you are a Knight from your favorite tarot deck about to embark on your next journey. Please choose your mode of transportation:

Hi pile 1, you've chosen to travel by air, bypassing all the long troublesome routes. After all, the sky's the limit! Isn't it nice to measure your distance by how the crow flies sometimes? You're ready to catapult yourself into the next big adventure; I can tell there's a lot of excitement to see what's ahead here. You'd rather get to the next phase of your life instantly yet with ease. This is likely the pile with big career goals, especially if moving or actual traveling will be in the big picture. Maybe you're dreaming of traveling by plane as part of your future dream job? You don't just want to get there, as great as that is--it has to be done with intention.

That might be a good pace for many folks, but for this pile it's not nearly enough! The thing to keep in mind is that this process of moderating your pace is for your overall benefit. See, you have the only reversed archetype card in all the piles. The card speaks of untapped potential, which is still there. It's simply saying that whatever you're seeking to do next, you're not totally ready because there is too much you're still carrying with you. To go with the motorbike analogy again, any leftover baggage from your past is going to weigh you down so it's in your benefit to review what you have before you can move forward. You've picked the solid, earthy pile of moving forward to your next adventure by train. Locomotion is slow but it's steady and reliable with time. Fully embodying the principles of inertia, once it moves it keeps moving, but it takes a lot of initial effort to get things going. Something you've worked on is slow going, but you're close or nearing the finish line. Once this is accomplished, things will move much more smoothly for you without so much push. Your next chapter will be steady, but it will be easier than before because it's already in motion.

I find this pile intriguing, y'all. You have Gambler above the Billiard card, and the Devil card shows a casino as well. It's almost bringing to mind old train heist movies. There's action, adventure, mystery, and a lot of fun here in this pile. Your next big adventure could involve having more chances to go out and have fun with friends. You could meet new friends around this time who will have a lot of extra pep in their step. They'll get you out of your shell if you've been in one for a while. Alternatively, if you see yourself as a party loving daredevil already, this new friendship may slow you down and protect you a little, in a good sense. They'll either be the head to your heart, or the heart to your head.

This pile is definitely more inclined to go with the flow in the next chapter. I almost typed 'glow' on accident, so perhaps you'll also experience basking in a 'glow' of some kind. You could be overcoming a huge obstacle at this time and look forward to more unstructured down time. You're encouraged to take time to enjoy yourself before moving to the next phase, but to also balance it out by taking moments to see where you'd rather go next. It's easy, after a huge achievement, to lose pace once the "now what?" sign is reached on your path. Go-with-the-flow doesn't necessarily mean 'fuck around and see what happens', lol. Try to find a middle ground here between playing and planning.

Your work-life balance will likely have some kind of pressure valve released like steam. You've had to really push for what you wanted this year. When opportunities looked scant, you had to tap in to your own power and immense resources to pull through. You've done so in flying colors. When you're able to carry a greater amount with more responsibility, more will be added to you in due time. Love Lost. (Captain Price x Reader.)

(Summary): Even after all of the damage he's done to you, he just can't let you get away that easily.

"John, I don't have the time or patience for this okay? If you want to call your son, by all means, go ahead. He's 18 now, there's no reason for you to call me anymore." You sigh into he phone. You were gathering your items up from your car to go into your work.

John watches you from outside his car, knowing what he's doing is wrong, but doesn't care. It seems like he's always around. Watching your house. Watching you come and go from work, watching you at the grocery store.

He didn't know it, but you knew he did it. You knew he always watched you, but you knew better than to fight back with John Price. There was no winning with him.

You'd been married to John at one point. High school sweethearts, had a baby by 19, married by 22. Divorced at 30.

Your relationship with John in the beginning was amazing. You begun dating when you were 14, he joined the military when he was 16 to take care of you. You spent that time together, happy and in love. When you had a baby, he was an amazing dad. When you were first married, he was an amazing husband. Than, he was stationed in Ukraine and spent two full years away from you and his son, and that's when everything started to go downhill.

When he came home, he was a different person. Cold, hateful. You tried to deal with it, but he was mean. He'd never put his hands on you, but some of the things he said to you, in front of your son. You couldn't let him get away with. You spent a lot of time with your son at your mums house. She told you to leave him. He was and could easily be very dangerous. His history in the military, track record of behavior. John heard about what she said to you, and became even more hateful to you and her. The final time you went back, he begged you back. Swore he'd change. Things were okay for maybe a week, and than during fight, he said those words that shattered your heart.

"I don't love you anymore Y/N, I want a divorce."

They struck you like a train and tore your heart right out of your chest for him to stomp on it. The fighting, leaving, crying. In all of that you never imagined you'd be alone. That you'd have to adjust to life without your best friend.

You spent a year apart, he cleaned up his act, tried to get you back but you wouldn't budge. He'd done too much damage.

This angered him to no end. You were his but you wouldn't come back to him. He tried you for custody of your son, a way to piss you off even further, and he lost in court. It's the one thing that really made him open his eyes. He couldn't see his son. Couldn't have you back. It broke him. All because he had some issues he couldn't work through. He let the anger blind his love for you and he realized it. When he'd finally changed, it was too late. He'd invited you out for dinner, you and your son. You'd gone on a couple with him, but knew very well what his intentions were. You stayed guarded. He seemed to change but knew there was that one tiny chance of it happening again.

You never held his son from him. Always allowed him to come and see him. Allowed your son to go to his house. Because despite his issues with anger, he was never that way toward your son. Always so good to him, something you could appreciate about John.

"I'm not trying to waste your time sweetheart. I texted him a couple times but he wouldn't answer me, I didn't know if you'd heard from him or whatnot." He laughs into the phone.

You can't help but smile into the phone. This John right here is the John you'd fallen in love with. The sweettalking, loving man. But you knew better than to fall for it. Maybe you imagined he hadn't changed but knew better than to put yourself out there. You didn't want to be hurt like that ever again. Wouldn't allow yourself to be. You had to admit. You wanted to run back to him every single time he asked.

The John you fell in love with, left a taste on your tongue no one else could ever fulfill. He touched you and loved you in ways no one ever had, in ways no one ever would. So of course it was hard to keep yourself away from him, but this behavior wasn't safe for your son. So you stood your ground. "Yeah, the little asshole has done nothing but annoy me with his college-kid-behavior." You sigh into the phone. "Had so many calls from his dean telling me he's failing his classes, but he's 18 so he won't listen to me." John smiles at your frustration. "Maybe I'll try him again later tonight. Try to talk to him." He laughs. "Good luck. That's all I'm gonna say to you." You disappear inside your work. "Hey, before you go. I have something to give you. Have me over for dinner?" He asks, skeptically. "What is this John?"

"No funny business. I swear."

A sigh leaves your lips followed by a long break of silence. "Okay. Just tonight okay? Just dinner, nothing else." You breath. "Yes. Just dinner. No more." He smiles.

"Alright. I'll see you around 8, John."

After he says his goodbye's, he puts his old truck back into gear and leaves the parking lot of your work.

He had something of yours. He'd been waiting for the perfect moment to give it to you.

It's a necklace. He got it for you the day your son was born. You wanted to eat something that had disgusted you through your entire pregnancy, so he went out to get it for you, stumbling upon this.

It was a necklace. A little silver infinity symbol with you and your sons birth stones on the inside of each circle. You fell in love with it when he gave it to you. When you kicked him out, he noticed it had fallen underneath your wardrobe as he packed up his stuff. He picked it up and took it. He'd had it the entire 7 years you had spent apart.

He got himself ready for dinner with you. Grooming himself to perfection, spraying on that cologne you loved oh so much. He slipped on a black t-shirt and blue jeans paired with his normal boots, wrapping the little necklace into a tiny gift box. He waited until around 7:15pm, he wanted to get there a little early. He pulled into your driveway at 7:47pm. The nerves in his stomach had him going crazy. Sure you'd allowed him over for dinner before. It usually took a lot of convincing, but all of those other times, he knew what he wanted to do. But tonight, he'd follow through with it.

"Hi. Come in." You smile, stepping to the side as you opened the door. You're still wearing the outfit you'd worn to work, but he thought it was sexy. Black pencil skirt, white button up shirt tucked into it. Pretty black heels, but you'd most likely ditch them before dinner was done. "I got off work a little late, so dinner isn't quite ready." You blush. "That's alright love. You been a busy girl ah?" he smiles. You smile. "Yeah.. It's been a miserable week." You look down. He smiles.

As you finished up dinner, he made small talk with you. Telling you about his plans, everything.

Even you felt it was a little different than normal. Something seemed off about tonight and you couldn't quite put your finger on it.

When you both sat down for dinner and had finished eating, he knew it was time.

"So, what I wanted to give you." He smiles. He reaches into his pocket, passing the little gift box to you. You narrow your eyes at him. You open it up, the smile on your face when you see it, had his stomach fluttering. "My god.. I haven't seen this since we split up." You breathe. "Yeah. I found it on the ground back then and snagged it, I was being a prick and kept it from you." He looks down. "Thank you, John. I appreciate it." You smile.

He knows how bad he's hurt you. And he knows it'll take years to repair the damage he's done. But he's going to try. Even if he has to to die trying. And maybe he'll make things worse with his plans for tonight. But he knows. If he can get close enough to you to get his lips on your skin. You'll give into him. You can't resist him. "You need help putting it on?" He asks. "Uhhh. Sure." You smile. He stands up from his chair, you doing the same. He takes it from the little gift box. He lays it across your chest, brushing your hair to one side. He takes a deep breath. He latches the little clasp. Your skin was revealed to him. "Forgive me, Y/N." He breathes into your ear, the hair on your body standing up. "Hm?" you ask, confused. He wraps his arms around your stomach, pulling you into him so that you can't get away from him. He presses his lips against your neck, kissing and nipping at the skin. "John-" You tried to push him off, but couldn't. He was too strong. You tried to stay strong, tried to tell yourself to stop him. But it was no use.

A sigh leaves your lips and your eyes flutter closed as he continues his assault on your skin. "John." You breathe. "S'alright love. I know." He breathes, sliding his left hand up your front to cup your breast through your shirt, the buttons moving to the side to reveal your bra to him. "Give into me, please. I don't want to have to take it." He whispers. Breaths of air leave your lips in pants. It's too much to bare, you skin growing clammy, you felt hot. Oh, the things he did to you. Even still.

"John, I can't." You push yourself away from him. Spinning around to look at him. He's like an animal. Dark eyes, staring into your soul. He wanted to devour you. And you knew deep down, there was nothing you could do to stop it.

"You can. And you will." His movements are quick, he grasps your thighs, lifting you up. Your back meets the wall with a thud as his hips are pressed flush against yours. His erection pressing right up against you. Your skirt had been pushed up around your hips, and he bites at his lip. "John, stop."

"No."

He leans into you, taking a deep breath. Noting the way your hair smelled. Like flowers, he wanted to get lost in it. "I need you, Y/N. Need you so fucking bad." The desperation in his voice has you flinching. You needed him too, but you couldn't admit it.

He presses his lips against the skin on your neck again, being a little more rough than before. A small moan falls from your lips, and it's all he needs.

He moves you away from the wall, making his way up the staircase to your bedroom. He lays you down on the bed, climbing between your legs. He grasps a firm hold on your shirt, ripping it open, the buttons making small tapping sounds as they bounced all around the room. You wanted to scold him for ripping your shirt, but he presses his lips to your own before you get the chance. He unzips your skirt, and freezes up when you're in your undergarments.

A single moment of consideration. A single moment of weakness. You could scramble away from him. Rush down the stairs and tell him to leave before he takes this any further. But you don't run. Instead, you look back at him with that same fire in your eyes, like you used to. He's panting, chest rising and falling with each harsh breath he takes in. "It's okay, you can do it." You breath, giving him permission finally, to take what's his at long last.

He's rough. Quickly dragging his own clothes off before you can change your mind. Before you can tell him this was a mistake and he needed to leave. And you don't. He pushes your panties to the side, sliding himself inside of you, a gasp falling from your lips.

He pauses, eyes wide in shock.

It's been over a decade since the both of you had sex. He felt foreign. He made you feel so full. You stare up at him. The both of you in the same awe.

"Holy shit." He breathes. "I-I can't believe this." he laughs. Crimson rises up onto your cheeks. It feels like the first time all over again. for the both of you.

When he draws his hips back, pushing back into you, moans leave your lips and he can't take it. "Fuck." He breathes.

He gives you a few minutes to adjust but wastes no more time to hammer his hips into yours, fucking into you like it'll be the last time he ever does. "I love you." He looks into your eyes, hips still hammering into yours. Tears gather in his eyes and he has to turn away from you. Trying to hide it but he knows he can't. You rest your hand on his cheek, forcing him to look at you. Tears filling up your own eyes. "I love you too, John." You breathe, barely keeping it together beneath him. You take a deep breath. How the hell could this happen?

It was so good. So good with John for so long.

This was going to be the tie breaker. The end of this honeymoon phase the both of you were having, like the first time. You pick up your cell phone, dialing his phone number. "Hey." He answers the phone. "Hi."

"Is something wrong sweetheart?" He asks. "Can.. Can you just come over please?"

"Yeah of course, I'll be there soon love." He says, standing up and getting his shoes immediately. He drives a little too fast, worried at what this may be. Maybe you were having second thoughts on giving him another chance. His heart aches in his chest. He pulls into your driveway, sprinting up to the door. He opens the door and walks in and you're sitting at your desk. "Hey.. What's going on? I came as fast as I could." He pants.

You rest your head on your hand, passing him the little Ziploc bag.

His eyes widen when he sees what's inside. A pregnancy test, 2 dark red lines on it. "Oh shit." He snorts.

"Oh shit is right John, what are we gonna do?" You ask.

He laughs. "I can't believe it." He smiles. "You're happy about this?" you ask, shocked. "Of course I'm happy about this Y/N." He kneels down by your feet.

It means you're mine.

He has to shake the evil thoughts from his head. "I know you're worried. You don't want a replay of what happened with Y/S/N. But I'm gonna be better to you Y/N. I swear on my life." He grasps your hand, clutching it in his own. "I can't believe I'm gonna be a dad again." He smiles that big excited smile you hadn't seen since the first time you'd told him you were pregnant. Since you gave birth to your son. "You look so pretty with my babies inside of you." He smiles. You roll your eyes. "What are we gonna tell Y/S/N?" you look at him.

"I think just about anything we say to him is gonna piss him off Y/N." He laughs. "True." A sigh leaves your lips. "I wish we could've given him a better life."

"I do too sweetheart. And that's no one's fault but mine." He sighs. "We can be better though. We can do everything we've always wanted to do, and he'll just have to do it with us. Even if he hates it." He smiles.

Your son glares down at the little girl at his feet, a smile breaking out on his face. He swoops her up off the ground, "Ohhhh, you think you're tough huh?" he spins her around. "Be careful please." You cross your arms. "Oh come onnnn. We're just having a little fun." he rolls his eyes. You shake your head at him with a smile. "Where is dad?" he asks. "He's upstairs."

"I'm right here, ready." John says, coming down the stairs.

He's wearing slacks and a nice dress shirt, same with your son. John takes your little girl from your son, her giggles have you smiling. She's wearing a beige puffy dress. Her 'princess dress' is what she preferred. You wore a dress of the same color, maybe a shade or two off but still close. "How long do I have to keep this stupid shirt on?" Your son complains. "Until I say so." You send a glare his way. "Family pictures? Seriously? How did we go from hating each other to this?" he rolls his eyes, smile on his face.

You laugh. "I think the answer to that question is this little thing right here." John looks at your daughter, beginning to tickle at her sides.

Bursts of her laughter fill the room and you and your son smile. You had spoken to him about everything. He was happy to see you guys back together. He was happy John was able to bring himself back together. But you both could tell how hurt he was. He deserved the life his little sister got to live, but he was happy to be around for it.

He got a little taste of it. During his first heartbreak in college, he came home to mom and dad, it was nearing 3 in the morning. His small moment of weakness had him laying between the both of you in your shared bed. Just like when he was little boy. The both of you held him while he cried. Your not so little boy was there again. For you to both comfort him and be there for him. He laid there and suffered for hours, and while it hurt you and John to no end to see him like that, you were so happy you were both who he came to, to confide in.

He was doing better now. But he seemed to be around more often than he used to be. And now, all of you were getting ready for family photos. One big, happy (yet dysfunctional) family again.

about a year after i decided to convert to judaism, i found out my moms dads family was jewish.

my first reaction was irritation. it was mostly a mock anger; i joked that if great-grandma rose hadn’t converted to christianity i wouldn’t have had to go the long way back to judaism. but some of that irritation was real. ever since i started my conversion i’ve felt like i’ve come home. i can’t imagine my life without it at this point. how could she have ever left?

i wondered if her mom- esther, a ukrainian jew who fled to the united states in the 1910’s- was disappointed she’d converted.

all i know about my great grandmas rose and esther are from census records and bits and pieces my mom remembers from her childhood. i know they both spoke ukrainian- esther never learned how to speak english, and rose never taught her son david how to speak ukrainian. i know esther’s name was changed to “stella” at some point in the 1940s. rose made hamantaschen during christmas, and taught my mom how to make pierogi. i don’t know why esther left ukraine but i’ve got a pretty good guess.

i don’t know why grandma rose converted. maybe she really did believe jesus was the messiah. maybe orthodox christianity was, for her, a way to escape antisemitism while being as close as she could to judaism. i don’t know. but i definitely don’t blame her like i used to. i’m coming home, and i hope she would be proud of me.

This post is not about art. It's about me and my life situation. Many people know that there has been a war in Ukraine for a year now. And it's been a year since I left my home and live in another part of the country. I live with my younger brother, my mother and some other relatives in one house. I live in the countryside, without civilization. Some of my relatives stayed at home, and so did my father.

And then today, my father called my mother and told her that he had found another woman. And okay, my parents' relationship had always been pretty bad. That wasn't news to my mom. But the most hurtful thing was that my father had found a woman with children. To me, it was a spit in my soul. I was not offended for myself. I had long ago stopped finding common ground with my father. I feel bad for my little brother. Who heard it all. I feel bad for my mother, who endured all the abuse from him for 21 years. It's a shame that it happened at such a terrible time at the moment. When you don't know what will happen tomorrow and how to live.

Because of the war my mother was literally left without a job. A rocket flew into her workplace. And what to do now, she does not know. Where to go, how to arrange a new life. At the moment in the family only I earn, thanks to ych.

I am honestly so disheartened by this world and so angry at every western leftist, and the flood of Palestinian or Israeli flags when there is no much silence now about Ukraine.

You told us we had enough support that's why you needed to focus elsewhere, so when do enough if us die for you to think us worthy of attention again?

I don't mean this to be an what about. This is just an expression of personal hurt and disappointment at the so called progressives.

And at the so called allies who defend the skies of one ally, finger wagging at them at most over what they do with their offensive weapons they give them while Ukraine begs and pleads for help, told not to hit the enemy here or there, told to watch itself or be left alone and even as Ukraine did everything it was asked for, fighting this war with hands tied and blindfolded, while it was dragged through every possible mud imaginable, belittled, and told to know it's place, it is now left alone anyway, while allies can't even manage sanctions worth a damn, while allies show concern over their oil prices, while allies debate and hand wring about Ukraine isn't NATO and escalation, another ally of theirs erases entire cities and with their weapons.

When so called progressives and allies of the oppressed spent years telling Ukrainians why the mere presence of bad elements in their country, and any mistake among any of their people in history means they should all be left to a hungry empire, don't deserve to live free, now call a terrorist organization who kidnap, rape, murder and oppress "freedom" fighters. The same people who dehumanized Ukrainians for years, called Ukraine a puppet, a proxy, a nation without a will of its own, now do the same to Palestinians, ignoring internal voices and needs. The same people told Ukraine over and over to accept its fate and give up, not to drag the world down with it, to take what they get and be fucking grateful, now demand the most useless and outlandishly impossible, uncompromising victory, who cry genocide at any suggestion of giving up, who have refused to see what life is like for Ukrainians under occupation, are now eagle eyed about why Palestinians or Israel's can't give in based on a history of abuses.

When every tragedy and massive loss of life by Ukraine was called into question, was doubted, lied about, debates, and turned over on every side to diminish the suffering, every report of every tragedy and accusations in I/P conflict is treated as gospel by thousands and then these same people turn around and mock Ukrainians for being so privileged, even as Ukraine stands increasingly alone apart from words and promises.

The hypocrisy is so blatant, so painful. Funny even when these same people point out petty instances of "bias" and "hypocrisy" of this state or that or the media.

This is not a special or unique anger and despair. This must be how many feel as the western "activists" move on to their next hip cause, presiding over tremendous suffering and deciding which one actually matters, completely blind to their own arrogance, and the colonialism of that thinking.

Then the dare, dare to use Ukraine to claim and compare to illustrate the bigger scope of the tragedy as if the losses aren't ongoing, as if soldiers aren't people, as if entire generation isn't being wiped out defending their country, as if lives can be weighted like grain. It does a disservice to all of the people involved and is moreover unnecessary. No one who doesn't yet support your cause is going to be convinced by these comparisons. It serves no benefit to raise support for one, merely feeds the self righteousness of current supporters. It only paints the other as less worthy of attention, as less important. It is a cruel and self serving act by people with no teeth in either game.

And I'm so angry.

Between the 2:27 and 2:37 mark, Isobel Yeung (the narrator) doesn't mince her words when she notes how Vladimir Putin and his cronies are accused of trying to "ethically cleanse a generation of young Ukrainians."

If you've read this far, you can probably come to the conclusion that imtryingsir did absolutely zero research, or even cared enough to follow the last 2 years of news about the Russian-Ukraine War, before making their abhorrently idiotic comment.

So why am I bothering to dignify this with a response when it's clear this person is being maliciously stupid? Because of this post. Specifically, the disgusting little remark they made where they tried to justify why a Jewish woman on social media deserved to be bullied/harassed (which eventually led to the Russia apologist comment above when they were called out on it by multiple Tumblr users):

Putting aside the gross victim-blaming and thinly-disguised antisemitism (which I'm sure my Jewish followers are deeply sick of at this point), what really gets me is how disingenuous this user is. They don't actually give a rat's ass about what's going on in Gaza: Someone who truly cares about genocide and the deaths/suffering of innocent people wouldn't be going out of their way to downplay/whitewash the genocidal actions of another country (Russia), or making comments dismissing another groups problems/trauma while dehumanizing them, or even straight up wishing for more death and destruction:

People like this (as well as the so-called "Pro-Palestine" users in the Jewish woman's post who were harassing her) are devoid of empathy. They relish in being cruel and condescending to others because they feel empowered in doing so, and they know they can get away with it without facing lasting consequences. They are doing nothing to help alleviate an already horrific situation, and are just making the world a worse place to live in. I'm sure they'll tell themselves the sweet little lies about how their bullying and antisemitism is really "activism" or "caring for Palestinians" or "Being antizionist; not antisemitic" (while continuing to spew the same bigoted rhetoric that Jews have been calling out as antisemitic for YEARS). At this point, I truly don't give a damn what their excuses are since they will grasp at anything, no matter how flimsy, to rationalize their behavior.

I never thought I'd see the day where a bunch of Leftist/Westerners would embody two of the most loathsome fictional characters in media (right down to their hateful, sadistic, vile attitudes), and yet that is the point we've currently reached:

To say this has been deeply unpleasant to witness is an understatement. 😒

I talked about this in a recent post about antisemitism from the Left, and I'm going to reiterate something I said: "There is a larger conversation that needs to be had about how selective Leftist empathy and compassion really is. By this, I’m talking about people on the Left who will a.) Only be compassionate/empathetic when it’s convenient for them, or b.) Only be compassionate/empathetic towards people they think are “deserving” of it."

People like imtryingsir only prove why it's important to have this conversation: If you're perfectly okay dismissing/downplaying the suffering of one group of people (be it Jews, Ukrainians, Palestinians, etc) so you can prop up your preferred group of people who are suffering because you think they are more "deserving" of empathy/compassion......................you need to do some serious self-reflection about the type of person you've become.

My favourite brand of westsplaining is how some Westies seem to think that because Ukrainians who don't serve and hadn't left the country keep going to work etc. then there can't be any war or it can't be that bad.

Like do you think everyone who wasn't on the front or trapped in the concentration camps could just take an extended holiday from life during the WW2 or something?

Ever since you and Natasha got married, Wanda had been like a lost puppy around you. At first it was cute, she would come to you with her dark make up, her little skirt and black clothing trying to keep up the appearance of the rebel teenager while driving Natasha through the walls and making feel needy.

You didn't know if she did it on purpose or not, Wanda was a mystery to you ever since the both of you met. Natasha had told you the story of how she came to be under her care, and the tragedy surrounding her life. And while Wanda liked to act tough and difficult, while she loved creating mayhem around her, teasing girls and boys alike, getting drunk and smoking pot to drive Natasha mad while pretending to be a tough slut...you knew better.

Wanda was your little girl.

And she was as innocent as every teenage girl and young adult ought to be.

Whenever Natasha was not around, which was quite often, she would come to you shy and almost tentative, leaning into your touch and affection. You knew Wanda was needing something in her life, some kind of control and affection no one was capable to provide. No one but you.

So you started a tentative path with her.

It was innocent at first, since you knew she was following you around the house whenever she could you started brushing your skin against hers, whispering sweet praises in her ear while placing your hand carefully on her lower back bringing her closer. You went out with her buying her clothes and jewellery, enjoying movie nights all the while leaving featherlike touches on her skin, getting to know the places that made her submit to you without being too intimate in your touch.

Now, you were in love with Natasha. Yes. The woman was pure fire and your relationship with her was passionate.

But Wanda was...she was sweet.

Temptation.

A sin.

And you were willing to sin for her.

The breaking point was when she was back from college, Christmas break was usually the time of the year in which Natasha would always be at home. But that year an important business back in Ukraine made her stay behind, and it was only you and Wanda.

The young woman was in her room, she had spent most of her break in there and as you tried to find out her mood changes you realized it was something that had happened with that fucking idiot of a boyfriend she had gotten out of spite. Out of jealousy, out of you telling her no.

"Hey, princess, brought you chocolate with marshmallows, the way you like it." You furrowed your brows, Wanda looked away wiping the tears falling down her cheeks while trying to pretend everything was fine.

"Thank you."

You approached her sitting closer to her that was probably necessary, your hand went to her thigh while your other hand brushed away the strands of hair on her face. She was flustered, and there was sadness and need in her green eyes. You felt heat pooling down in your crotch, she was beautiful allright, innocent and so ready to be broken you had to contain to not press further.

"What happened, Princess?" You whispered tenderly, leaning in knowing how much she submitted to you when your lips are so close to her ear. "I don't like seeing you like this, and you have been sad since you got home. Is it because of Natasha?"

Wanda tensed scowling deeply while looking away, "no."

But it was one of the reasons why she was so mad, you pursed your lips your hand grabbing her jaw tenderly making her looked into your eyes. Her breath caught in her throat, for the very first time noticing just how close to her you were, how the hand on her thigh started drawing circles on her inner skin moving dangerously close to her core.

"Wanda, if you don't tell me what has you like this, I can't help. Tell me, Little Witch, what happened?" Wanda melted into your hands, her lips curling lightly under the nickname you only used whenver you were alone with her.

She had blushed so much that day, and you two had slept on the same bed as you whispered in her ear how she was magical, and such an amazing little girl, your Little Witch. It usually led to you placing sweet kisses on her face, your fingers and hands caressing her without making any real advances on Wanda. "Then, Little Witch, they are idiots and don't deserve you. Why would no one want to be with you?" You asked and almost froze at her next words.

"Mommy, do you want me?" She asked with such an innocence behind her features, with such a small tone of voice that you couldn't help but leaned in and sealed your destiny.

You could wait no longer.

Your lips crashed against hers in a heated kiss, Wanda melted right away letting out sweet whimpers while her hands wrapped around your neck putting your closer. Your hand on her thigh did her final travel all the way up until your were cupping her uncovered pussy.

If I came across as snippy or trying to start something, I apologize, I'm barely holding myself together right now. I just saw some of the comments people have made about the situation on your Palestine AU and got frustrated. I want to be sure people have the whole picture, but whenever I try, people shut me down without really listening and blocking me. A guy got my original account deleted for "hate speech" when I posted my story just because they didn't like what I said. That's why I'm staying anon.

The truth is, I have someone over there who's being held in the middle of it all. She went on a school trip a few months ago and was reported missing. My family panicked not knowing what happened, and then a few weeks later all hell broke loose with this war.

My family was furious with Israel, and jumped to the conclusion it was like Russia & Ukraine, but later found out they were trying to take out Hamas, who had taken her and some of her classmates hostage.

No one knows what it's like to have someone over there, and no one seems to try to understand or even care. In their minds, Israel is the big bully and Palestine is the sole victim, but things aren't that black and white. Hell, Israel negotiating for hostage releases is the only reason a couple of her classmates have come home.

Meanwhile, everyone online seems to keep preaching about how Palestine must be free and how they need to stop supporting this war while offering no real alternatives to stopping Hamas, even going so far as to say they are a bunch of freedom fighters who need the support. Sometimes the only options you have are bad ones... But you still have to choose...

I'm not saying what's happening to the innocent people in Palestine isn't a tragedy, or trying to just brush it off, but men who kill without reason cannot be reasoned with. I wouldn't wish this on anyone; knowing those monsters have her is a living hell, and not a day goes by that we don't hope and pray that they'll be stopped, just so my sister can come home.

Sorry for rambling, I just really needed that release. I've said my peace, I promise I won't bother you about it again.

Hey, I completely understand your situation. But we have to admit this is a sensitive topic for many. NOT forbidden, just sensitive. You can expect me to listen to what you have to say and even understand your perspective, but you won't find many people like that when it comes to this topic and that is just what the internet is like. Just because I am understanding you doesn't mean other people are, and they each have their own right to being exhausted with justifications of crimes on any side. If there's anything I've learned it's that pointing fingers in an argument is not going to get anyone anywhere. I am someone who has been trying to hear out both israelis and Palestinians because like anyone else, after oct 7 I wanted to get the whole picture, as you say.

But your entire discussion started with being biased instead of trying to show the whole situation. You started with saying "israel is not the bad guy" but also said "Hamas is a terrorist organization" and I want you to really look at the use of words if you want people to see the "entire picture". Otherwise you ARE going to get shut down. The entire point of starting an argument online is that you first have to claim you've tried to study the complexity thoroughly. Chalking it up to Hamas being a terrorist organization and justifying a genocide is not going to cut that.

I am completely against trying to shut down someone's grief no matter how big or small it is. Everything comes down to the fact that we are all human, we all have feelings and every life matters. I can only send my condolences to the family that's going through this first hand. First of all, if you are actually someone who has been so closely impacted by this, trying to show the 'bigger picture' on the other accounts instead of your own is ALREADY a pretty dangerous thing for you to do, let alone to the art account of a local tribal artist in the north of some little country.

Now I really want you to evaluate your situation. Your family is tensed, is grieving, they are beside themselves with worry. Just thinking about it makes me sad and I sincerely hope that everything safely gets resolved for you and hopefully everyone is safe. But can you seriously say that as soon as your family found out "oh, Israel is just trying to eradicate a terrorist organization by blowing up the very place where the hostages could potentially be" they were…. okay with it?

I understand what it's like. I understand and I care. I grew UP on the stories of people going missing, people being blown up, people getting martyred in Palestine. Trust me I understand what you are going through.

I will never try to justify what happened to civilians on oct 7. it is horrible. What happened on oct 7 and what has been happening in Palestine for years makes no one but the innocent suffer at the hands of evil powers. But you cannot, with all due respect, try to say you're showing a 'bigger picture' when you clearly failed to mention the entire history.

Everyone living in Israel knows they are, first and foremost, living in an apartheid state. It is not that difficult for anyone mature enough to see the situation around them and look up and research to come to that conclusion. And many Israelis have. And many have left. Because they knew what living being such a place will entail for them.

And keep in mind I am also NOT in support of trying to make any Israelis leave, who have documented proof of any of their ancestors being from that land and/or don't have second citizenship somewhere else in the world. I hold them to the same level of rights as I do Palestinians.

I don't need to get into overcomplicated finger-pointing and yelling. You can look up Israeli soldiers shooting their own hostages in Gaza despite them shouting in Hebrew and holding up white flags. And the army only apologized because they were identified as Israeli citizens. How does that differentiate the Israeli army from Hamas? I don't need to pull up multiple sources or proof provided by the Israelis themselves. They are already everywhere. What I've heard and what I've seen from October seven, I'm seeing more and more of it being done by the Israeli Army. So we need to be really careful trying to call one side a terrorist, because that will automatically mean calling the other side the same. Which is true. In terms of definitions, what's happening in Gaza is blatant terrorism.

If Palestine was an apartheid state, you would see me speaking out against them. If Palestine was a colonizer apartheid and the people stood up to fight back against a powerful army with resources far more than that of them, you would see me calling them freedom fighters, not terrorists. Because I did happen to read a little bit about the international laws. I do happen to be from a family with a history of armed freedom fighters.

So yes, I am incredibly sorry that this is impacting you mentally, I hope you and you family stays safe and united, but if the impact is making you say biased things, it's better to go offline, take a break from social media, and spend this time trying to pray for your family and spending time with them.

Russia - for me as a person who lives among them he's just... Too nice? Too well-behaved? Something like that. He needs just a little bit of spice, not too much. I would've also incorporated his sense of humor in some way, because it's a thing that is absolutely unique and IMO Russians have the best sense of humor in the world. And cartoons. Also his lack of organisation and general incompetence in EVERY SPHERE, I never saw that in Hetalia. Only his brutality. Shallow really. It must be there, that's what the Russians are mostly known for. Their main stereotype. He lacks carelessness

Belarus - I do get it. She's cold because of political reasons, only country in Europe to have death penalty... But I wish that she could also be warm. For example, yes, cold in the international arena, but comically warm and jolly among her friends. Belorussians are INSANELY nice and good people, like, I never met anyone on the same level. I absolutely love them and I am forever grateful to God for putting so many in my life. It's a miracle. I don't deserve this lol Also maybe a bit more play with Lithuania and Belarus, how he used to rule her, how she stole his coat of arms (xD), they're just a lot alike (same national bird etc). More spice in their relationship, not just Lithuania having a crush on her, but maybe accusing her of things, etc. Conversing about their love for potatoes. You know, things from everyday life that happen there.

Ukraine - Terrible. First of all, never met a Ukrainian without a tan in my life. They're reasonably positioned in southern Europe, the black sea... They're pretty dark although not all of them but I think it would be awesome if Bel and Russia were so pale and white and Ukraine tan but maybe still with blonde hair. It would contrast nicely. Tits, agreed. Poor gal? I don't think so, Ukrainians are quite strong and DEFINITELY NOT pushovers. What her design lacks are main events of Ukrainian history: Issues with Poland, nazi collaboration. Some edginess to her character. They're a bit nationalistic, but you can't blame them for it since how Russians and Poles treated them. (albeit they weren't exactly goodies either)

Latvia - I wish someone just read latvian history at least once in their lives. Just, one person, please. Hahaha. So basically, making Latvia more weak than Lithuania is a CRIME. At least more morally weak. Latvia had COLONIES, a great fleet, they were influenced with Germans, hence the better the development of his than that of Lithuania who was influenced by Slavs, LATVIA was the ONLY baltic state who fought the Nazis, who defended their country when they occupied them. Lithuania just let them in. He's just incredibly underrated, you can't just base his entire design on how he looks in 21st century. I'm not saying he's supposed to be buff and strong, because he is weaker in terms of military and sovereignty, but making him a woman I think would be very cool? Since the Latvian girls are the tallest in Europe. So making her tough in medieval times then making her weak in modern times would be pretty easy. They're way better than Lithuanians morally and behavior wise. Latvia is more liberal and easy going when it comes to ethnical issues, they don't really care that they're getting assimilated into Russia when Lithuania is really mean about it.

Lithuania - His name doesn't exist. The national clothes he's wearing in his design are incorrect, they look Ukrainian. Hair colour is very on point. Other than that, he has no right to be as nice as portrayed. They're usually mean and very passive aggressive. Terrible sense of humor. They're called the Italians of the North so that would be cool to see, making him the most emotional or in-your-face attitude out of all northerners. It's not good that his love for singing, the entire basis of that country - singing, was never put into spot. I think it should be mainly based off that. More pagan stuff, they had remaining pagans up until the 19th century which is unbelievable, and that religion still exists now, people practice it. Also its a bit hard to speak of it as one country because there's like 5 regions there and people in each one of them differ a lot. Samogitians don't even consider themselves lithuanian.

Hungary is way too nice too. Their politics or history are not nice at all, they have an attitude of an oppressor. She looks too normal, there's not much hungarian about her, give her some special features. Should be made into a duo with Poland since they both call themselves brothers.

Slovakia - should never exist and should never deserve own design and appearance in the series. Die Slovakia

Poland - Gay weak inconsiderate irresponsible annoying and lame. So 100% accurate. Very nice, I agree, good job Hima.

Also it would be cool to see Königsberg in the series!
