I hope tubbo underestimates the power of his nuke and literally just fucking kills everyone on accident
#the entire server blows up#no reaction just something like#‘omg only three seconds. I’ll miss Tommy. his sacrific-‘ *white flash* RINGGGGGGGGGGGGG#black screeen#I’m words#*and they all died’#then tubbo wakes up in the season 2 world#not in a ‘it was all a dream’ way but in a Next Life way#also I know we only have one stream left#but I really fucking hope they actually give a reason on why some characters were given ghosts and others were simply sent to limbo#like just a ‘if you die without serving your final purpose you’re doomed to roam the earth until revival’#and then give some example like ‘Wilbur’s true purpose was to convert to Mormonism and move to Utah’#‘Ranboo had like a kid and shit’#‘God let’s Shlatt exist in any way he chooses without question or restriction#like I love the dream SMP so much. but they were so in over their heads#like they wove this elaborate storyline that built and built and built#with promises to tie off loose ends#and then not much happened#and now it’s ending#without most of the loose ends tied off#like Wilbur did a good job tying off his character#it was a little anticlimactic with the ‘if Wilbur is let out he will reek destruction and chaos and will ruin existence’ then he like came#on. told Tommy L’manburg ain’t shit. pissed off a gay casino owner. said ‘sorry my bad’ then left#oh he also professed that he had matured and learned and had infinite wisdom from his years being dead#then proceeded not to use any of it#i don’t know. I’m satisfied with it though

@leaflinerambles asked me for an essay so i complied
Here’s why c!tommy deserves better
Tommy Danger Kraken Careful Innit deserves better.
(All of this is about the characters btw. Sometimes i don't put c! Because honestly its a lot of putting that so just know that unless it says cc! I mean character)
Now, I know that can be a bit of a controversial take for.. some reason??? People may say that actually, he deserves to face the consequences of his actions and deserves to be punished.
. What the fuck.
That's a sixteen year old. That a teenager. He doesn't deserve to be 1. Abused 2. Traumatized 3. Manipulated 4. Used and 5. Taught a ‘lesson’ that i'm sure he’s been taught far fat too many times.
Tommy is a complex character. As we all know, he's regarded as the ‘protagonist’ of the dream smp or the ‘main character’. Now, of course, being the main character is a very subjective term and that is a whole other fucking essay that im not gonna get into right now—
BUT.
I do think in a way Tommy has been involved in a lot of the more.. main plots. From season one to season three.
And of course, with being the ‘main character’ (again, a purely subjective term because it depends on the point of view you watch) come a lot of things and a lot of trouble. Mainly, from our main ‘villain’ of the series.
C!Dream, the fucking bitch.
As we all know, c!Dream has had a weird obsession with c!Tommy since.. probably the beginning?
He liked to antagonize Tommy, but that wasn't exactly special. The man liked to antagonize everyone! He seemed to just want the most chaotic option, which of course ended with him antagonizing others often for his own entertainment.
I think, in a way, Dream always saw the smp as a game. His own little puppet show, where he could move the strings. He wanted complete control
But Tommy was more stubborn than the others. Tommy actively went against Dream from the start, like we see in the disc war. Or L’manberg, or during manberg, or new lmanb—
You get the idea.
Tommy never gave in, and Dream’s obsession grew.
So.. exile happened.
And like, i'm not sure what exactly dream was planning but i'm assuming he wanted to like.. ‘break’ tommy?? Make him more ‘compliant’ to his twisted game?
C!Tommy was, to put it simply, abused. No sugar coating, that was straight up abuse and gaslighting and manipulation. The burning his armor? Making sure no one got an invite? Keeping Tommy at low health? EVERYTHING??
That was all clear manipulation. Tommy.. went through a LOT in exile. It still affects him as we know. ‘Plain biomes, small holes, logstedshire’ among other things have been added to his list of stuff that sets him off.
(And also the waking up drowning?????)
And i know, Dream almost had tommy in his grasp. He almost broke him.
But Tommy resisted. Tommy pulled back at the last second, in that dirt tower. He was strong enough to realize what dream was doing was wrong an he ran from a toxic environment and situation and honestly? Good👏 for 👏 him 👏.
But the trauma stayed, in many ways. And even during the raccoonit arc, tommy didn't really.. get a chance to heal?
During the techno and tommy arc, tommy seemed to direct his hurt into lashing out at others. He got angry, he lashed out, and he hurt people. Even if im a tommy apologist, i can acknowledge that during his time of poor mental health he hurt other people and he had to apologize (and he did!! But im getting to that)
Now. I am.. very conflicted when it comes to techno and tommy’s relationship. I do believe that, somewhere deep inside, they both cared about each other. However, bias and fanon influence can get in the way so i'm not touching on that.
The one thing i'm saying? It wasn't exactly a healthy dynamic. And again, not saying anything because bias could get in the way, but Tommy realizing the error of his ways and realizing he HURT PEOPLE is such a huge milestone??
He took responsibility by joining tubbo again. He said how his trauma did not excuse shit and he acknowledged it and he tried to CHANGE.
Even when faced with people who exiled him, who shunned him or who weren't there to visit during exile, he decided to be better and he once again took the role of the troop rallier even when he KNEW how impossible the task would be. He SAW Techno’s wither skull vault. He knew it was a losing battle.
But he stayed strong. And he fought for L’Manberg, for the last reminder he had of Wilbur (and oh, wilbur and tommy’s relationship in canon is a whole other can of worms god—)
Just for it to get destroyed.
By his abuser, and two people he had trusted. People he RELIED on.
Blown, to the ground.
And then dream.
Dream saying their story isn't over. Their story would NEVER be over.
. Bone chilling. Genuinely so.
And still. He faced Dream. He faced his abuser, the person who in his own words ‘ruined him’ and he refused to back down.
He refused to let Tubbo die. He refused to lose.
And in the end, Dream was sent to jail. Retribution was sent!
.. right?
Wrong.
Because even after that, Tommy continues to be haunted by dream or by the literal CULTISTS trying to kill him.
And to top it all off, he gets fucking trapped in prison with his abuser surrounded by a bunch of triggers in a small cell. And have we mentioned how he's canonically claustrophobic?
Yeah.. that was bad.
One week. Trapped with his abuser.
And still, he stayed strong. Still, he refused to give in and stayed himself,
And what did he get for that?
Death.
Beaten to death by his abuser of all things.
And he was trapped in the void for two months. Two. Months.
But in the human world? It had only been days.
And he was so so shaken by it. He couldn't even touch other people, he couldn't take any damage, he was treated as a ghost by people, he was called a ‘science experiment’ and the one thing he wanted? Normality? It was taken away from his forever.
Again, by his abuser.
Hes a traumatized child soldier whos done plenty of wrong in his life, but he's also a kid who needs to heal and learn to have healthy relationships because one way or the other every healthy mentor figure in his life turned against him or got corrupted and now he feels alone and he DIED and he needs fucking therapy come on.
And we KNOW the dream isn't done. Far from it. We know dream will never, ever be done. He's too obsessed with the game, with his favorite toy to let the game end. To let the people rest
C!tommy is so broken and jaded and traumatized. But still, he chooses compassion. Despite the trauma, he refused to hurt his best friend. Despite it all, he refused to blow up him home. He stays true to himself and he stays strong and even when the world tries to mold him he doesn't break.
And believe me, the world tries to break him and mold him so many times. He’s been manipulated or used before by others, but he still keeps his attachments and he still keeps himself and i think thats fucking admirable.
So yeah. I wholeheartedly believe tommy deserves better as do the other members of bench trio because honestly they're also children and they all deserve to heal come ON.
But yeah thats the essay

Through the Eyes of a Child
HAIIIIIII I posted a clingyduo fic based on season 2 of the dsmp!! Please check it out if you’re interested, it would mean the world to me!! /nf
Words: 2,018
Tags: Abuse, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Heavy Angst, Depressed TommyInnit, Suicidal Thoughts, Emotional Manipulation
Summary: The question sits heavy on his tongue before he asks it, and his chest feels right when it leaves his lips. “Would you go back to your younger self and tell him to never have met me?”
“Why would you ask that?” Tubbo responds quickly, Tommy thinks he hears panic in the other boy's voice. But he ignores it in favor of picking at the bottom of his shirt. The seams were tearing apart between his finger tips, he was practically wearing rags at this point. “Tommy, why the hell would you ask that?”
“‘Dunno… Wouldn’t you want to save yourself from me? The anger we feel towards each other? The questions around us? The pain we put each other through?”
“No.”
Tommy was sitting on the edge of his bridge in the nether, staring down at the lava with a dull look in his eyes. The firey orange liquid called out to him, enticing him to jump into the sweet abyss.
And he wants to, he really does. He’s done everything he wanted to already. Hung out with Mexican Dream, spent the day with Drista. But for some reason he just can’t bring himself to do it.
So he sits.
No one had come to visit him today, no one ever does. But not even Ghostbur or Dream came to see him. He hasn’t seen Ghostbur in a week, and Dream just hasn't shown up. He’s sure the man would come eventually, he understood Dream was busy and couldn’t be around him at every waking moment. But he still missed the man, in a way.
Dream was his only friend after all.
Maybe that’s why he hasn’t gone through with it yet, he didn’t want to disappoint Dream. Or maybe he was just hopeful someone would actually come visit him. Like Phil, or Big Q, or Ranboo, or even Vikkstar!
Maybe even Tubbo.
Who was he kidding, Tubbo didn’t want to visit him. Tubbo didn’t care about him, if he did then he would’ve already come to see him. Because no one cares anymore. Especially not Tubbo. That’s why he was fucking exiled and not in the Dream SMP with his friends, not in L’Manburg…
Sighing, Tommy picks at a hole in his pants as he stares into the lava. He was so incredibly tired, of everything really. He was tired of the pity gifts, he was tired of everyone laughing at him behind his back and in front of his face, he was tired of waking up every morning, and most of all he was just tired.
He misses Dream. The man always kept him company, never pitying him or treating him like a baby. He even let him keep his pickaxe and trident, he thought Dream was so cool for that. Sure, he was a little mean. Especially with the whole pit thing, and sly remarks about no one caring about him. But he was Tommy’s friend. And that’s what mattered.
Hell, he even left his armor and tools in a pit back in Logstedshire for Dream to destroy. He hoped the man appreciated it, he didn’t even have to tell Tommy to do it this time!
But he thinks he misses his old friends more. He misses scamming people with Fundy, and talking about drugs with Quackity, and pulling pranks on everyone, but more than anything he misses Tubbo. The Tubbo before he was president, and maybe even the Tubbo before Schlatt.
The familiar buzz of a nether portal cuts through his thoughts, he frowns when he realizes it’s coming from the community portal. Bubbling excitement in his stomach and anxious thoughts make him wonder if Dream is finally coming to see him today, or maybe even a new visitor!
Though it could also just be someone going mining or traveling somewhere else. The thought disappoints him immensely, and he silently cursed at himself for making everything about himself once again.
Turning to face the portal, he waits to see… well, anyone really.
He was expecting to see Dream. Or maybe even Sam, possibly even Ranboo.
What he wasn’t expecting to see was Tubbo.

Here’s an analysis of the “Tommy’s Plan To Kill Dream” stream (part 1)
I noticed that my “overly long” analysis always tend to be about extremely depressing streams, so here’s me trying to change that and failing miserably because I can find angst literally everywhere!
As usual I’ll be talking about the characters only unless stated otherwise from here on out.
The whole thing is under the cut because, as the name of this “series” suggest, I’m phisycally incapable of keeping things short
Before we proceed with the analysis we need a quick overview of Tommy’s relationship with the people he interacts with this stream so that we can all start with the same mindset:
Tommy & Tubbo: They have obviously been very close friends since the beginning but recently Tommy has developed a sort of dependence on Tubbo which really isn’t healthy. This of course is a direct result of his second exile and his mindset moving forward after that. While with Dream and then Techno Tommy was extremely isolated and made to depend entirely on the one person providing for him. He continued this even after Doomsday, this time developing an extreme dependence on Tubbo that culminated with the line “What am I without you?” (basing your entire identity around someone else is not healthy, who’d have thought?). With the developing of the hotel post-finale he expands his system of support to include Sam and Sam Nook, but this is of course ruined with the prison arc. Tommy doesn’t trust Sam any longer and, while he still cares deeply about Sam Nook, he’s not someone that can give him emotional support. So he went back to rely soley on Tubbo (though it’s obvious throughout the stream that he’s tentatively doing so with Ranboo as well)
Tommy & Ranboo: The two of them used to be sort of close before Doomsday, Ranboo still very much admiring Tommy and considering him a friend. Thet said Ranboo is not in the very small circle of people who Tommy trusts and finding him married to his best friend and moving in together with a child didn’t help his perception of him. He feels replaced by Ranboo and sort of feels like he “stole” the only system of support he had that he could count on. Though there is a beginning of change throughout the stream.
Tommy & Ghostbur: Their relationship is really interesting. Tommy is pretty obviously one of Ghostbur’s unfinished businesses (possibly the only one now that L’Manburg is gone) and most definitely his priority. He was the only one who offered to go with Tommy during exile and he tried to be there for him constantly. Even his return this time was Tommy-motivated as we know from what he said in Ranboo’s stream. Meanwhile Tommy’s feelings on him are very complicated. He swings between recognizing that Alivebur and Ghostbur are different entities to conflating them together any time he has a strong reminder of Alivebur (at the beginning of exile and after spending time with Void!Wilbur for example). He also has only very recently come to the full realisation that Wilbur was awful to him and that their relationship was definitely not healthy (something we can infer from him finally taking a stance on not wanting him back and him admitting that Wilbur is good at manipulating him).
Now that that’s done, let’s get into the analysis!
“Oh I forgot I died, didn’t I?” So, Tommy is in a very peculiar situation where he has to somehow process his own death and, at the moment, he’s still in a state of denial about it. He knows he died but he acts like he didn’t in the sense that he hates how it affects his life. He doesn’t want people to treat him any different (even though he IS different), he doesn’t want to acknowledge the changesto the world nor to his relationships, which is the reason why he dislikes the statues of himself so much (that and the fact that he simply never liked to have statues of him). They act as a constant phisycal reminder of what happened to him and, more importantly, how much things changed in his absence.
One other reason why change scares him so much it’s because of how often he’s alienated from the world around him. He spent more time in exile/prison then in his own home since L’Manburg got it’s independence. He is constantly forced to live in an isolated bubble while the world around him moves forward and then, when he gets thrown back in he is never really given much time to adapt and catch up before he is thrown once more into the role of the hero/villain that he despises (after the 16th for example he was painted as a liability at his first mistake and put on trial etc despite how much he did for the country. Again after Doomsday he had the Dream fight to think about and, after that, Sam Nook asked him again to be the hero against the Egg and he, once again, was villanized by the Team Rocket. Now again he finds himself in the position where he has to take action against Dream once more).
So the stream really starts with Tommy deciding to contact Tubbo to get some help in his plan to kill Dream. He heads to Snowchester to do so (stopping before that to build Sam Nook a little wooden platform to keep him out of the rain).
On the way to Snowchester he gets trapped in the tunnel and almost drowns, making him break the glass of the tunnel. This is triggering for him for a couple of reasons (aside from drowning generally being not pog): exile reminder of his waking up drowning every day and taking damage in general seems to be a reminder of his death (he also seems to be hypersensitive in general in regard to phisycal sensations)
The whole mansion scene is a further indicator of this new dynamic between Tubbo, Ranboo and Tommy. Tubbo and Ranboo grew extremely close as we know (got married for tax benefits, adopted a child together and, apparently, canonically fell in love after) and they are planning to move in together with their son in the mansion. This, once again, all happened while Tommy was locked in prison. The feelings of alienation for him in the situation are prevalent together with his jealousy at Ranboo as he perceives him as his replacement.
“You married someone without me- without my permission?” “Okay, can I have your permission?” “Does he make you happy?” “Yes” “then ye- okay” Just... I’m a softie and I think that it’s very sweet that his only requirement to give his blessing is Ranboo making Tubbo happy. We stan a unconditionally supportive friend!
“Ranboo listen, let me open up to you pal! I- I’ve been through a pretty rough time recently and- (”Yeah I can tell”) and I know that we were kind of close before I went into prison, but then you ki- Tubbo would you mind looking at that flower a bit more? You kinda stole my best friend, and that’s kinda- you know now I feel kind of very lonely- actually feel very lonely” “I didn’t steal...” “And my other friend who then turned out to be my enemy is actually dead. So I’m kinda feeling a little bit left out here, and considering I was locked in a prison for 4 weeks...” “Yeah, no, I mean... I didn’t- I didn’t steal...” “No no no no, you did, you did, didn’t you? You did!” That was a big piece of dialogue there to transcribe! Regardless Tommy doing my job for me here by literally spelling out for us how he feels about Ranboo. One thing to be noted though is that Ranboo remains calm and keeps an understanding attitude in all his interactions with Tommy. He constantly tries to be reasonable (trying to explain that he didn’t “steal” Tubbo as, you know, he has his own free will and can have more then one friend) and generally just doesn’t get mad. Keeping a non-confrontational attitude is probably the best thing he could have done here.
So after that exchange Tommy opens up to them a bit about Dream, explaining what he’s planning.
“The revive book is too much and he (Dream) is too powerful and he’s only gonna use it for evil now! He is an evil man and he used it- he used ME to prove a point and to experiment on me” “Oh my God, like a lab rat!” “Like a- like a- worse then a lab rat! A lab- a lab sock!” “A lab sock?! No!” “Oh God!” “Oh my God” This is the first time in the conversation where Tommy’s gone more in depth about his traumatic experience (though he did mention before that “Dream asked him about it” in reference to his revival). It’s honestly a really big positive that he’s opening up to someone, even if it is other two teenagers who can’t do much but be sympathetic to him.
“I think it’s good. You don’t actually know this but I’ve been- I’ve been collecting some data, but, honestly... I’m not sure is a too good of an idea” “You said it was good” “No no  no, I didn’t mean it was good in the sense of we should-” “Ranboo’s changed you, Ranboo’s changed you! He’s manipulating you! He’s manipulative and controlling” So 2 things to unpack here:
1) Tubbo hesitance comes from both him being on his last life and how things went during the season 2 finale. He isn’t too optimistic about their chances of killing Dream (even with Dream being completely unarmed in the prison) and he’s also less passively suicidal then he was during the finale, probably because he managed to build a life for himself now. He has a home, a family and Snowchester, he doesn’t wanna loose those.
2) Because of very obvious reasons (Wilbur being abusive, Dream being abusive, Techno isolating and manipulating him and then siding with his abuser and Sam betraying his trust) Tommy views all relationships aside from his with Tubbo in a negative lense. Basically he has HUGE trust issues and he’s so used to his relationships having usually some degree of manipulation (exept for Sam, who still entirely broke his trust. Also recently found out Jack had been lying and trying to kill him as well, which probably didn’t help the issue) that he just assumes that must be the case for Tubbo and Ranboo as well. Both of them of course are fast to correct him on this as that’s really not the case.
“So why don’t you want him to bring Wilbur back now? What suddenly changed?” “I spent months in the death... area- let’s call it ‘the death zone’, with Wilbur alright?” “The death zone?” “I spent months there. I spent months and months and months there and I was only there for a few days, Wilbur’s been there for real months. He is so different and he is fucking powerful and you know how he molds me like a piece of clay, Tubbo. (hushed) I don’t want him to come back” So here we have Tommy’s admission to Wilbur’s manipulation and how effective it is on him (most probably because of how close they used to be). We also have another hint about how dangerous Wilbur is now because of the knowledge he acquired.
“In the mean time we also... unless we don’t kill Dream... we gonna have to stop Technoblade, ‘cause Technoblade owes him a favour” “Stop Technoblade?” “Technoblade owes him a favour and we can’t let him redeem it” When Tommy mention’s Techno, Tubbo immediately becomes even MORE hesitant about this whole thing (probably a mix of his death-related trauma, Techno exploding his nation twice and his most recent inquisition venture in Snowchester).
“So why don’t we try to block Dream’s communication with Technoblade? ‘Cause then Technoblade would have no idea how to... redeem... the favour” “He can bring back the dead Tubbo, we need him DEAD! He’s too powerful for this server’s good and he’s a bad man and he won’t use his powers for good. And it’s not even-” “Mmmmh” “What do you mean ‘Mmmh’ Man?!” “I don’t know this really- this didn’t go too well for us last time we got all hyped up and tried to do this” Tubbo once again is mostly apprehensive because of how things went last time they were up against Dream. He also tried proposing an alternative solution to fighting that Tommy shoots down because he doesn’t think anyone should have the power that Dream has. Also, may I add that Ranboo is actually on Tommy’s side on this whole thing? Possibly because he knows as well how dangerous Dream still is.
“Just because he’s locked up doesn’t mean his strenght is, allright?” This basically perfectly sums up the crux of the issue. Of course thanks to Quackity’s lore we know that Dream’s power now is mostly a facade, but they don’t know this. To them Dream is just as powerful now as he was before. To them the image of powerlessness that the prison gives him is the facade.
That said the conversation in the electric chair tower ends here and, as this is already so incredibly long, I’ll also end part one of the analysis here. This was also the most lore-heavy part as the rest is more light-hearted so it’ll probably be faster to cover.

Sleepy Bois Inc and DSMP Fanfic Recs
Uhhh I realized I have a ton of stuff in my bookmarks list and might as well compile a list of favorites because I’m always looking for good fanfics, and this might help some people. Most of these are SBI, though a few focus on things other than their dynamic with each other. Nothing explicit here. Feel free to suggest more recs.
Fics set in DSMP universe/about DSMP (One-shots first, then longer fics):
One-shots and series of one-shots-
therein lies the madness by sapphicist - 2095 words. Currently says it’s one chapter out of three complete, but can be read as a standalone one-shot. Nice introspective fic on Tommy’s exile and his parallels with Theseus. In 2nd person, but it’s actually done nicely. Mostly angsty, can have hopeful interpretation depending on how you look at it.
crazy how life goes on without me (2090 words, one-shot) by itisjosh - What if Ghostbur did remember everything, and just pretended to be clueless and vapid? Made me cry. It’s so good. Tortured my heart.
the inner mechanism of a black box (13521 words, one-shot) by Bee_4 - only work of a series called “system theory”. “Technoblade lets himself get imprisoned for Philza’s sake. He doesn’t plan on being there long. Unfortunately, he’s underestimated Pandora’s Vault. There are things that will make even the Blade fall apart in due time, as it turns out.” Yeah so Techno’s mental health goes out the window in this one and its written brilliantly. There’s comfort at the end, if it helps?
A State For One Man Is No State At All (5247 words, two-shot) by angstfortheangstgod - “A different version of the festival, in which Dream shows up unarmed, the Community House is left intact, a traitor is executed, and Tommy doesn't betray Technoblade.” Ranboo centric. Angst and comfort.
All the Kings Men series by MollyPollyKinz - “After Ghostbur's suggestion to do Lads on Tour, Tommy finds himself reunited with his family. However, escaping from Dream is going to be harder than anyone previously thought.” A connected series of one-shots and short fics about Tommy, his exile, his family, and escaping Dream. Well written, good characterization, great studies into the characters themselves.
ad astra per aspera series by cacowhistle - Collection of one-shots that start with Tommy’s exile and expand to be about SBI and their dynamic with each other, including a resurrected Wilbur. Really, really well written and probably my favorite of the “Tommy exile fic groups”.
the fall of a hero series by cracklesnaple - “After being threatened with being exiled yet again, Tommy takes the decision into his own hands. If those around him can't see that he's given up everything to make this nation what it is, then he's not sure he can stay in L'Manburg any longer.” Series about SBI and mainly Tommy, eventually crossing over into Mianite territory in a way some might enjoy and some might now. Writing’s good, though, which is what I care about.
Longer fics-
Rewind (101002 words, 25 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 17 2021) by Anonymous - Best time travel fix-it fic I’ve ever read period. Tubbo and Tommy travel 10 years back from a very messed up future to the first L’Manberg election. Concept may seen a bit weird at first but trust me, holy fuck this is amazing.
second chances (hurt the most) (8841 words, 4 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 17 2021) by Anonymous - “Wilbur wakes up alone in a bloody room, and has to come to terms with living again. (How can he go on, knowing who's blood is on his hands?)”. Amazing fic where resurrection requires someone else’s life as sacrifice. Phil is dead. Wilbur struggles to come to terms with his father’s decision, and his second chance.
all scotch, no soda (47466 words, 43 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 14 2021) by fishstixx - “Vulnerability meant trust, though, and trust was a thing not so easily given. Post-exile and canon divergent, follows the consequences of Tommy’s isolation. Expect chases, heists, bloodshed, and the mending of a family.” Features raccon hybrid Tommy being badass, and I live for it. I really, really love this one.
DON’T FORGET THAT ICARUS FLEW. (16426 words, 6/10 chapters, last updated Jan 1. 2021) by orpheusaki - “The day before and the days that follow Tommy's exile; told through the eyes of The Blood God.” Techno (and Dream) is a god, and gods often forget how the intricacies of the minds of mortals. He’s trying to get better, however.
what do you fall for? (16374 words, complete) by tablrcloth - Ranboo centric fic with Techno, Phil and Tommy. Ranboo realizes that playing L’Manberg’s politics is less than ideal for him. What can I say, it’s just really good.
Breathing’s Just a Rhythm (12631 words, 6 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 17 2021) by MollyPollyKinz - “Tommy, Tubbo, Jschlatt, and Dream all end up in the past. (Oh, and the Chat comes too).” Great time travel fic.
What World Have We Inherited? (73635 words, 12 chapters, unfinished and last updated on Dec 22 2020) by Anonymous (this one has a series with all their works, and they’re all AMAZING). Holy fuck this one is probably one of my favorite fics in the fandom so far. “Wilbur blows everything to hell on the day of the Manburg festival, just like he wanted. When the ashes settle, it's just Tommy and Technoblade. It's not good, but it's better than nothing. It's just them, healing up in a world that never wanted them.” Amazing characterization, worldbuilding, everyone’s internal thoughts are portrayed and written so well. Even if it never updates again I would keep coming back to it. I rec this Anon’s works so much.
In June, I Changed My Tune (29489 words, 6 chapters, unfinished and last updated on Jan 6 2021) by KryOnBlock - Eret runs away and eventually becomes friends with Techno. Nice cottagecore aesthetic. I have mixed feelings about this one - the writing’s good, descriptions and characterizations are really good. Just that there’s consistent punctuation mistakes and it takes me out of the world a bit. Everything else is good enough for me to continue reading, however.
stay with him (24353 words, 12 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 9 2021) by junipersand - I especially rec the first chapter, which can be read (and originally was) a standalone fic with the summary “Every ghost had a purpose to fulfill. So what was Tommy’s?” Utterly heartwrenching, probably the most emotionally gut-punching bit of writing I’ve ever read in this fandom. It continues with other lore stuff afterwards that eventually branch off from just SBI and Tommy, but man. I don’t think I can ever forget that first chapter.
I’m not angry at you, well, sometimes I am (52801 words, 16 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 14 2021) by sircantus - After Tommy is exiled, he runs away to Techno’s house instead of going off with Dream. SBI decide some revenge and “world domination” is in order.
Fics set in AUs outside DSMP happenings:
One-shots and series of one-shots-
Empty Crowns AU by UnderUrsa - the SBI + Tubbo are gods, and a family. Series of one-shots. Nicely written, what can I say? Some angst, some fluff.
Secure, Contain, Protect AU by blue000jay - Amazingly written SCP AU. Knowledge of the SCP universe would help with understanding some more meta things, but is not needed to understand most of it. Some angst, disturbing themes around memories but nothing terribly gory.
CLASSIFIEDS. (13804 words, finished). SCP pages on SBI, short stories and audio transcriptions as well as files, lots of good lorebuilding here. Features an escape, + Tubbo!
CONFIDENTIALS. (13232 words, finished). Centers on Dream Team.
ARCHIVES. (1270 words, one-shot). What happened after SBI and Tubbo’s escape from the SCP foundation.
old gods (new gods) AU by WriterWinged - the relatively well known SBI gods AU. Amazingly written, great character interpretations.
the gods are cruel (none crueler then you) (1394 words, one-shot) - As much the grammatical mistake in the title hurts me it’s no doubt one of the best pieces of work in the fandom.
and yet they find kindness (and so do you) (2/4 chapters posted) - continuation of “the gods are cruel”.
there’s a risk to the world (but the kindest are strongest) (2/3 chapters posted) - continuation of “the gods are cruel”.
SBI Antarctic Princes AU by ScripWriter -  One of several Antarctic Empire AUs, this one just has these two preliminary one-shots but they’re nice bits of fun and neatly written. All fluff and mild hurt with lots of comfort so far.
Younger Holding On Another (1781 words, one-shot). Techno is a good brother and reassures and newly adopted Tommy.
But Oh, Don’t You Know How It Goes (2511 words. one-shot). Tommy, Techno, and Wilbur have some “fun” at a boring gala. Phil is very exasperated.
Antarctic Princes ‘verse AU by BirchWrites - AU where Techno, Tommy, and Wilbur are princes of the Antarctic Empire (well, Techno’s technically the emperor now), but this time the events of DSMP still happen (at least up to the 1st season).
Homeward bound for the arctic ground (10562 words, one-shot). Wilbur and Tommy travel to the Antarctic Empire in person to ask Techno for help in fighting Schlatt. Good worldbuilding and acknowledges Wilbur’s beginnings of insanity while still being rather light.
Surprise Hugs (2542 words, one-shot). Dream doesn’t realize Tommy is Techno’s brother and thinks he’s going to get killed for tackling the infamous Blood God.
Family Reunions (1396 words, one-shot). Fundy never realized he’s loyalty and Techno informs him unexpectedly.
Longer fics-
leave me your starlight (14620 words, 4 chapters, unfinished and last updated Jan 11 2021) by findingkairos - “Once upon a time, Philza Minecraft is the only person who does not shy away from the bloody teen that regularly turns the tide of war. This cements a friendship that will last wars, empires, worlds, and lifetimes.“ Amazing backstory fic on Phil and Techno’s relationships, one of my absolute personal favorites. Very well written and really digs into the intricacies of Techno’s character (or an interpretation of it, but hey, that’s what all fanfiction is).
I was a kid in a village, doing alright, then I became a prince overnight (21736 words, 5 chapters, last updated Jan 13 2021) by sircantus - another Antarctic princes AU, this time centering on 16 year old Tommy catching the attention of Phil, Techno, and Wilbur after thwarting an assassination attempt. Really well written. Actually, I rec all of sircantus’ SBI stuff because they do amazing work.
antarctic adage (26591 words, 4/7 chapters posted, last updated Jan 13 2021) by blue000jay - Another very well written Antarctic princes AU with Emperor/ruler Phil. Are we seeing a pattern yet? blue000jay is another writer I’d rec, with really great SBI stuff.
a renewal of faith, and of family (56684 words, 31 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 13 2021) by SolivangantStories - One of the only fics here that doesn’t feature SBI, this one is Tubbo and Dream centered. Basically, the DSMP!Tubbo is executed by Schlatt and wakes up in a world where Manhunt!Dream is trying not to die and is also actually a nice person, to Tubbo’s surprise and confusion. Not SBI and technically not even DSMP, but it’s really good so I’ve decided to rec it anyway.

What Every Fic was inspired by
Promises — Protected by Aenqa, Anastasia, and the El Rapids stream where they killed Karl and blamed it on Eret
Of Striped Sweaters and Pink Poisons —
Tumblr media
this
Artemisia Cons with a Hint of Amnesia — Inspired by The Aurora Cycle series, a book called Shipped, a book called Restart, and of course Tommyinnit's Unbeatable Method of Avoiding Death
The Lies of Theseus — Those fics where Dream kills Tubbo and blames it on Tommy and imprisons him, and somewhat the Tales from the SMP series.
The Road From Home — ??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ partially based on a roblox Naruto roleplay tbh. But one of the fics is based on an unfinished fic by far2late
Bring on the Real World — Percy Jackson, both The Lightning Thief Musical and the book series.
Postcard from Connecticut — A couple videos by Baphomet-Kun and the song "A Quick One Before The Eternal Worm Devours Connecticut" so you Already Know i was on some kibd of bullshit when I was coming up with the plot for this one. Also may or may not be a vent fic.
Tubbo's Grand Escape from Limbo — in part, based on my Cryptid!Tamaki AU from my bnha phase but this thing is straight up just a brain baby from what i remember
Turn Back, Techno — If you've ever read Scratch9 It's based on that one chapter where he goes back in time to have a chat with Ichirou and it turns out he was a real delinquent when he was a younger cat. That's it.
Sorcerer's (new) Apprentice — during Tommy's exile people started calling him Theseus and also he wrote letters to Ranboo. Also that one Dragon Wrangler fic that I've never actually read and a DnD campaign that me and my friends never actually started.
Deja Vu (or do you remember, too?) — Based on the beginning of Season 2 Sailor moon and the end of season one where all of the Sailor guardians die including Usagi but with her final words she wishes them normal lives but for that to happen they all forget about both eachother and being sailor guardians until there's a new threat in town and only Usagi is left as Sailor Moon and- anyway Tommy wakes up but he remembers everything so he's trying to be friends with everyone again while protecting the city alone.
Dodging Dragons (and your responsibilities) For Dummies — kindaaa based on Fairy Tail & Winter Moon? But it's mostly based on a post that i found on this site that I've NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND AGAIN and it went along the lines of "What if some dragons had hoards of heroes instead and they coukd sniff out heroism. They would make excellent guild recruiters. Dragons gathering a guild of heroes as their hoard" or whatever, and that's what this was mainly based on.

*kicks down your door*
tell me about ur idea
i need my fill of certified Amazing Samu ideas
HDKDHDKSH LEM BELOVED-
it's simply about a somewhat of a DSMP AU idea i had
first imma say real quick, this AU is based off of the Netflix series called The Hollow, and I will be taking small parts of it and putting them into this AU so beware of spoilers for both season 1 & 2 below!!
SO ESSENTIALLY- The Hollow is a digital virtual reality game in which two teams of three players choose superpowers and enter a fictional world. The twist is that once the players have officially started, their memories of their real lived and named are blocked and they aren't aware that they're in a game.
Here is the link to the wiki, it has lots more information than what i can currently provide!
https://thehollow.fandom.com/wiki/The_Hollow_Wiki
in this AU, i kinda wanna change some of the mechanics but thats something i have yet to figure out all together
its either this idea or just taking the concept of it and changing it up a bit
SO- I was thinking maybe having Wilbur, Tommy, and Ghostbur on a team together, and having Ranboo, Dream and Tubbo on the other
//BUT THE SECOND IDEA, is that it's Wilbur, Phil and Techno against Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo but that's just an idea in the back, ready to be used incase this one doesn't work lmao//
(Season 2 spoilers) Tommy, Ranboo and Tubbo used to be on a team altogether, but they simply couldn't get along, leaving mainly Tubbo to carry their team. (Like how Reeve, Adam and Mira all were on a team but it didn't work out since both Adam and Reeve kept fighting with eachother while Mira did everything she could on her own)
Ghostbur and Wilbur are twins in this au, thats just because i find it hilarious to imagine them waking up in the underground bunker and at first glance, immediately knowing they both knew they had something to do with each other, meanwhile Tommy is set on the idea that they're both clones
(From Season 2, Taking the fact Vanessa cheated in the game) Ranboo was the one to cheat with the contact lens that helped his memory from being blocked, with help from someone, and cause the glitch to happen during halfway through the game
.. i rewatched the hollow recently and its getting me thinking lmao, also i did do some concept art of the teams
Tumblr media
edit: tommy with fire powers sounds like chaos waiting to happen the more i think about it and im all for it

Titles & Descriptions of the fics I'm doing:
Of Striped Sweaters and Pink Poisons (Oneshot) — Tubbo is an assassin working for a secret society, with the front of running a honey shop with Ranboo as a regular customer. But his careers get intertwined when Ranboo's name shows up on the guest list during one of his... jobs.
Promises (Royalty AU) — When the crowned prince George's family is overthrown and he's presumed dead, he begins working with the resistance lead by Quackity. He fights to avenge his family and his childhood friend, Clay, who was killed in the attack. Meanwhile, Dream, a Manhunter working for the crown, is tasked with bringing them down.
Bring on the Real World — (PJO AU) Tommy, Tubbo, & Ranboo have been running away from both monsters and their respective families for most of their lives. It's explained when they're informed of their demigod status. But when they finally make it to the hill on Camp Half-Blood, Ranboo is lost in a monster attack. And just when Tubbo & Tommy thought it couldn't get any worse, they're both met with familiar faces from their pasts in the form of their family.
Postcard From Connecticut — A 14 year old Ranboo wakes up to everyone in the world having disappeared. 3 years later, he walks around with artifacts of his old friends, and a little boy named Michael; the only other survivor. But the more he stays, the less he wants to find where his compass leads, and the less he wants to find out what happened.
Tubbo's Grand Escape from Limbo (Series) — Tubbo sets off an explosion in the Syndicate room, which traps him in the end for almost a decade. As he's still contemplating who he could've killed with his actions, his body begins to make changes to fit the environment of the End... Meanwhile, Michael's grown up hearing stories upon stories of his father's heroism and sacrifice in the great war. In a wish come true, Tubbo miraculously reappears almost a decade later back in their mansion. But he's.... different somehow. He looks nothing like Michael remembers him, and he's determined to get to the bottom of it.
Turn Back, Techno — As Phil dies, he gives his former student some shocking information: Not only does time travel exist, but he met Techno previously when he was younger. So when Techno travels back a couple thousand years as his mentor informed him, he's immediately stolen from by a very wanted and /very/ wingless juvenile.
Sorcerer's (new) Apprentice — Ranboo get the opportunity of his life when he moves from his quaint little cottage to the town of Snowchester under the tutelage of the Great Magician Technoblade. But neither his new mentor nor the people seem too thrilled to see him. Later, he learns of the existence of the late Theseus, Ranboo's predecessor. It only gets worse when Dream and his crew start gunning for him. But not only that, the more he stays in Snowchester, the more he realizes he doesn't remember... /anything/ of his life from before the cottage.
Artemisia — Tommy wakes up in the back of a Space shuttle with no clue who he is, driven by a wanted fugitive who calls himself Wilbur. What Tommy doesn't know is that Tommyinnit is the most infamous name in the galaxy; (a space pirate known for his cunning heists, fearsome connections, and bizarre opinions of marriage), and he's just been proclaimed eliminated and his crew dissolved by the Terran Government.
Deja Vu (Or do you remember, too?) title w.i.p. — (Based on the beginning of Season 2 of Sailor Moon) Tommy was a superhero, but after the final battle was said and done, all his comrades dead, he wished for them to just lead normal lives without all the heroism stuff. It works— For the most part. Tommy wakes up in a world where his powers still work and his memory is still intact, but where none of his friends remember him. It's hell. And it gets worse when there's a new threat in town and he's the only person who actually has the ability to fight it.
How to Dodge Dragons (and your responsibilities) For Dummies — Former kid hero and member of a legendary lost guild Tommy runs away from a young Dragon with a hero hoard (Ranboo) trying to recruit him into his guild nonstop. Meanwhile, Ranboo is certain that the kid he's chasing is Theseus, but for some reason he just.... doesn't want anything to do with Ranboo, and he denies his identity at any turn. Weird.
I See Their Eyes Surround Me — superweapon and juvenile villain Inferno (Tommy) recieves a proposition to join an old friend from the top of the villain world (Panikos, or Tubbo) in his vigilantism. Problem is that the public still views Inferno as a villain. || Tubbo's been in hiding for a while, as the son of the late supervillain Schlatt he's expected by everyone around him to rise to power, leaving heroes, villains, and everyone in between after him. Only way to prove he can do good is vigilantism. Hope his roommate doesn't raise too many questions. || Ranboo is the hero-in-training Enderwalker, under The Blade himself. He has to keep it a secret for his own safety though. Apparently his roommate doesn't get the message with the amount of times he comes home injured.
Reminders/I Don't Need Reminders — Tommy and Ranboo are at the head of a dystopian resistance helping instate Tubbo as the rightful leader of the nation through birthright. Ranboo does some kind of embarrassing slip up during a skirmish and Tommy vows that Ranboo will never hear the end of it. After that is a series of snapshots where Tommy brings it up, and then, the very end of it.
