I have two multichapter SVSSS WIPs (A Wife by Any Other Name and my ongoing LOTR-inspired Bingqiu fic), and I plan to post around six more oneshots for the SVSSS Gotcha for Gaza. After that, though, my SVSSS writing days will likely come to an end! :')
I do have a Qijiu age gap AU in the works; but my (countless, at this point) MDZS projects take priority, so this one might not ever see the light of day. I've attached a few scenes below the cut, in case anyone is interested. <3
Short background: in this AU, Yue Qingyuan and Shen Jiu met when they were fifteen and five years old respectively, when YQY (then a kitchen slave) took little Shen Jiu off the streets and hid him in an abandoned wing of his master's manor. They were separated when SJ was discovered, and Yue Qingyuan was badly beaten and thrown out of the estate while Shen Jiu managed to escape and ended up being sold to the Qius a few years later. When they reunited at the Immortal Alliance Conference, YQY had been Qiong Ding's head disciple for nearly a decade and had just earned the right to accept disciples of his own, so SJ became YQY's disciple and went back to Cang Qiong with him.
Shen Jiu later realizes that he and SY!SQQ (head disciple/future peak lord of Qing Jing) are brothers; the following scenes mostly concern his relationship with Shen Yuan.
scene 1, set shortly after Shen Jiu comes to Cang Qiong and discovers that he and Shen Qingqiu are related:
This soft-eyed, fair-faced fool—he could never have lived through the trials Shen Jiu and his Qi-ge had endured, no matter how strong his cultivation, or how fine his calligraphy, or how well he swayed the hearts of men to bow to his every whim—
“Oh,” Shen Qingqiu murmurs, his voice full of such pain that Qi-ge makes a sound of distress behind him. “Of course. They must have had another child after they sold me away.”
Shen Jiu stares. “What? You were…”
“There was a drought in the second-to-last dog year, before you were born,” Shen Qingqiu says distantly, unfolding his fan and placing it over his mouth. “I was the third son, and born sickly—so when the slavers came to Jinan, they told Father that I was quick-witted and handsome enough to serve a lordling in a great house, and that I would have all the food I wanted and medicine to treat my infirmity as long as I did not make too much of a nuisance of myself. So I was sold and taken away.”
He casts a thoughtful glance at Shen Jiu’s sharp nose and smooth jaw, and then at the mole behind his left ear. “The sixth year after that was a bad year, too. You must have been sold then.”
Shen Jiu wants to tell this cheap brother of his that he had not even been sold, for the slavers had wanted nothing to do with a three-year-old infant scarcely out of babyhood. His mother was long-dead by then, and his father and the two kept brothers had resented her for bearing Shen Jiu and hated Shen Jiu for not having died before he was weaned: so there was no one to protest when his father carried him out of their shack while he slept and abandoned him in an alley a few miles away. If this heretofore-unknown third elder brother, Shen Yuan, had not been pretty enough to catch the eyes of the Jinan slavers, perhaps their father would have done the same to him.
scene 2, set about a year later, after Shen Jiu finds out that Yue Qingyuan's personal name Yue Qi is not written with the character for "seven" in CQM's sect records:
“Qi was good enough for Qi-ge.”
“Yue Qi’s name was changed when he entered the sect,” Shen Qingqiu tells him. “The Qi that Shixiong uses now comes from qi xi, for a bird resting on a perch.”
Shen Jiu turns around to stare accusingly at Yue Qinguan. “You never told me that you’d changed your name. Why did I have to find out from—from Senior Shen?”
“Ah, well,” Yue Qingyuan says awkwardly, “Shizun was the one who decided that the Qi for seven wasn’t worthy of a Qiong Ding Peak disciple, and then I became the head disciple, and my name was changed again, to Qingyuan. I haven’t signed my name with the new Qi in years. But, A-Jiu, I do think that Shidi is right; it’ll be years before you can become a head disciple, and in that time…”
“Should I use the jiu for ‘a long while,’ then?” Shen Jiu quips. “Or jiu zhi?”
Shen Qingqiu snaps his fan closed. “No. How practiced are you in the scholarly arts?”
“I do well enough,” Shen Jiu bristles. Reading, writing, and the reciting of poetry were the three subjects that came to him easily after he entered the sect; and though he had been near the bottom of the class when he first arrived, his weekly reports placed him at the top by the beginning of the second month. “Ask Qi-ge.”
“Then why not use the name Jiu’ge, after the second volume of the Chuci?” Shen Qingqiu asks. “What do you think, shixiong?”
“I think Jiu'ge is a fine name. But it’s no good if Xiao-Jiu doesn’t like it.”
Shen Jiu thinks for a moment. In truth, he had wanted Yue Qi to bestow a new name upon him, if it so happened that he needed one. He gave Shen Jiu the very first name he remembers, Xiao Lizi, after the plums that Yue Qi used to smuggle to him when he was a child in the Huang manor; but he does not entirely detest the thought of this strange elder brother, thrown away just as he was, choosing the name Shen Jiu will be known by in the future.
“It’s not bad,” he admits at last. “Very well, then. Let it be Jiu’ge.”

Spider’a tier list of attachment to the recoms, in my opinion, would go like this;
Quaritch (family comes first🤗)
Lyle (second in command and the ‘uncle’)
Zdog (the mean older sister)
Ja (a worrywart of a personal medic)
Lopez (sassy squad-mate)
Prager (a listening ear)
Mansk (a comforting presence)
Additionally, I headcannon that none of the recoms knew Quaritch before he became colonel.
Spider obviously has the strongest bond with Miles, as he felt comfortable engaging with him not only in conversation but even in touch. Lyle comes second but, in my personal opinion, only because of close proximity to Quaritch. You might not agree but I believe Lyle is more ‘uptight’ than him in terms of behaviour. Miles is all about being a military dog, but he lets Spider’s attitude slide and never makes attempts at “keeping him in line”. If Wainfleet was in his place I don’t think Socorro would have gotten away with his stunts as easily.
Zdog, not sure why, always felt like a fun presence to me. Perhaps she’d be the type to pick on Spider like an older sibling would to their youngest. Perhaps she calls him things like “kitty cat” or “kitten” to get under his skin, as Spider hates being infantilised or being seen as less because of his natural height, but all she really does is say what all recoms are thinking. Spider is baby I’m afraid 😔
Ja, I imagine, is easier for Spider to be around in terms of interaction. I headcannon that Alexander used to be a paediatrician, but then joined the army because his line of work got too depressive. He advocates for Spider whenever any medical intervention is needed and ensures that he is not poked and prodded more than absolutely necessary. He knows how important it is to teenagers to have their own space, especially in circumstances as stressful as being a prisoner of war, so he will leave the kid to himself unless he reaches out.
Lopez is the fun sort much like Zdog, but has less of a patience for Spider’s audacity. They often get into arguments, but he does eventually offer to teach the kid Spanish so he could stay connected to his mother. That mostly mends their relationship.
I don’t have much on Prager tbh 😭 I think he’d just be a chill guy to tell a war story or two, and give Spider some support when he inevitably vents about his predicament.
Now, I know a lot of people consider Mansk to be part of Q’s, Lyle’s and Zdog’s gang and therefore closest to Spider, but I don’t think they’d have that good of a relationship. Spider is an active kid and responds best to being engaged with. Mansk is a soldier that chooses to simply do his job, so Socorro stays away from him…most of the time.
Additionally though, I believe the squad would eventually learn motions or tricks to keep Socorro calm in stressful situations. Ja, being the most educated one, got a habit of rubbing Spider’s back when he hyperventilates because the touch grounds him, so Miles eventually gets on that as well. Zdog’s back-rubs feel more like light scratching and Mansk prefers tapping to help ground the boy.

Q: How did Caleb live so long? How can he still be here after 400 years?
A: Belos wanted him to stick around and so he made it happen. As for specifics: *shrugs* your guess is as good as mine! This is something I've preferred to leave up to the readers. I will simply confirm that he isn't hiding any goop powers or OP palisman-given magical abilities. He is, for all intents and purposes, a regular human who is somehow really, really old.
Q: If Caleb is still alive, where did Hunter come from?
A: The full story here hasn't been told yet, but you may notice Caleb is missing quite a few bones...
Q: Caleb's ears are pointed! Did Belos cut them??
A: Correct
Q: Does Caleb know about the Collector/the basilisks/Belos' plans?
A: Probably! He's been Belos' sounding board for 400 years. Access to things that could "further corrupt him" or provide him a tool for escape, however, are off limits, so there are many things, like the Collector, that he's heard about but never seen for himself.
Q: Where's Flapjack/Amity/Darius/etc?
A: This is basically a canon divergence. If you haven't seen a particular character, it's safe to assume for now that they're up to whatever they were doing in canon.
Q: I don't get it. Why is Caleb insane?
A: I suggest you reread the first few story posts, my friend! You have fallen for Belos' lies.
Q: Do you have a posting schedule? When will the next part come out?
A: There is no posting schedule. I draw (mostly but not always) traditionally in my free time, for the fun of telling a cool story, and some posts are longer than others. That means the timing of the next post depends on how long it is, how much time I have, and whether or not I'm at home with access to my scanner. Sometimes this means I post quickly. Sometimes it means you'll see me next month. Sorry about that.
Just know that if I know there's going to be an extended wait, especially one where I'm not actively working on the next drawing, I will make an announcement about it. If you haven't seen an update in a while but I also haven't said anything, it's almost definitely because I'm actively chipping away at a part of the story that's taking me longer.
Q: Why do some of the story posts have a letter after the number? Are these less important than the regular story posts? Can I skip them?
A: No, I Do Not Recommend skipping them! They are just as important as the others. They have a letter on the end because they were added later and I use letters as a way to avoid renumbering everything. If you see story posts labeled something like "3, 3A, 4", they are meant to be read the same as you would if they were "3, 4, 5".
Q: Can I make art/fic/cosplay of this au?
A: Knock yourself out! If you post it somewhere, please include credit, but otherwise I don't mind, and actually love seeing what you do with it! If it's NSFW though, please keep it in appropriate spaces with proper warnings.

Voiceplay Visuals: A Chance To Fly (Wicked Medley)
You'd be hard pressed to find a Voiceplay arrangement that took more time to create/finish than this one. This was Geoff's creation (he arranged it, came up with the video concept, co-directed it, and collaborated on lighting design), and he apparently worked on this for years. I don't know how long exactly, but I'm fairly certain he vaguely alluded to it in a live Q&A he did on his channel in 2020, when someone asked if Voiceplay was planning to do any Broadway stuff. And based on comments I've read on reaction videos, I believe he's worked on it since sometime in 2019 or so?
But anyway, as spectacular an arrangement as it is, I'm not here to talk about it! I'm here to talk about the video which accompanies it, which was released on the 26th of November, 2021, and features the awesome Emoni Wilkins (in the role of Galinda), and the wonderful Rachel Potter (in the role of Elphaba) (and yes, this is another rare six-vocalist video for Voiceplay, though this time it's 4 members + 2 guests, rather than 5 members + 1 guest). One of the comments says that this is apparently Rachel's 10th collaboration with Voiceplay, though I can only count 7 previous ones (or 8 if you count Just Sing (she was in that too right?)). But regardless, what a veteran!
Anyway, the medley itself clocks in at about 7 and a half minutes, so enough backstory - there's a lot to get through!

(Note that I've never seen Wicked, not even a bootleg, but I've listened to the soundtrack a few times on the odd occasion, and I know how the story goes)
(Also this video really highlights the height difference between Layne and Eli, the tallest and shortest of the group, respectively. Apparently Eli isn't actually even that short - he's like 5"5/165cm (which is about how tall I am) - it's just that everyone else in the group is taller than him, whether by a little (like Cesar), or a lot (like Layne, who's 6"1/~183cm)
I adore Emoni and Rachel's makeup looks in this one. Shoutout to Rick Underwood for doing amazing things yet again!

A sweet short story about an older Aiden and Evie moving out of their long-time family home, after their kids (OCs still pending) have grown up and moved out. I love imagining Aiden and Evie in their more elder years; in my headcanons, they're certainly a "high school sweethearts" couple that stays together pretty much the rest of their lives and happily grows old together. Seeing the two of them being so affectionate with each other as an older couple is just precious.
And it also fits so well with my headcanon of Evie being a very sentimental and nostalgic person! She values memories a lot and has a tendency for visual/physical associations with memories, so her holding back to look around the empty house and go through the years of memories is spot on.

I'm a total whore for seeing guys sitting on their ladies' laps, and Aiden and Evie were captured perfectly here! This is based on an edit I did of Aiden in the premium prom dress option for f!MC. Evie is of course wearing the premium suit option from the game, and seeing them share a dance in those outfits– especially with Evie dipping Aiden– is a dream come true.
The mood is just perfect with the two of them grinning and looking into each other's eyes lovingly! And the background that's mostly dark except for the lighting behind them really captures the feeling of "the world around you seems to fade away as you focus only on your partner" that is so very *them*.

This one is based on a Q&A headcanon I had about Lucas being the bigger lightweight at parties and how he likes to be bridal carried home by Jo. The artstyle is so perfect for the ILA characters, and I love seeing Lucas drunk with his hair and glasses and sweater all messy! Jo gently teasing him is definitely something she'd do.
Both of their outfits are spot on for them. I especially love the open flannel shirt and the carabiner, they're definitely things Jo would wear. Lucas having a lil earring isn't something I'd thought about before but I am very here for it. And of course, their rings!

He’s a pretty complex character because at first you would’ve guessed he’s just a serial killer like any other villain characters but the second you’d catch on, he’ll act like an innocent prick
Overall, he likes causing chaos between two opposing sides and sometimes prefers being a spectator
Q&As (more questions can be added):
1. How do you address Eike if he’s made up of two people? Do we call him a ‘he’ or a ‘they’?
Answer: His pronouns are he/him since Elijah is mostly the one in control as Eike (he also picked up that name to hide his identity) also because Emir’s half decapitated face is unconscious in Elijah’s control so he won’t be able to control everything for the time being unless Elijah wakes him up and lets him have control but atp Emir’s looking like he’s gonna be ‘dead’ for awhile.
2. Who is the parasite and how does it work?
Answer: Elijah, to be more specific, that’s his ability. He can control someone’s body by merging his blood with someone else’s. As long as that person he’s targeting has the same blood type as him, which is O, or else he’ll be dead in an instant. Mixing his blood with a different blood type is like feeling drenched up acid to him.
3. If Eike’s occupation is being a detective, wouldn’t his co-workers be suspicious of his conditions to his face?
Answer: His face is usually covered up with his hair and he only uncovers it when he’s alone so don’t worry 👌
4. How did he managed to get a certified occupation with the way he looks??
Answer: In the beginning, they picked him up in the alleyway beside a garbage bin during an investigation. At first he was gonna be placed in an orphanage as a joke until he told them his age and “dream” which was to become a detective. They doubted him at first based from the way he presents himself until during another investigation (someone had to keep watch on him so they suggested on bringing him on work lol) and was surprised on how well-observant he was throughout. So there, he was immediately hired and he's still wearing that outfit despite being told to wear something formal.
5. How did you come up with a character like Eike?
Answer: After listing my ocs, I noticed that I never had a neutral character before so there, I started coming up with a few concepts. He was supposed to have elf ears but that small detail is scratched from my sheet because it’s useless. It took me half an hour to think about it because I wanted this character to have a chaotic appearance and personality but still complex. I decided that the mix of black and pink would suit him. I thought of black and white at first but nah, I don’t think I’ve seen any characters with the mix of black and pink that much before so I chose those color palettes.
6. If he dislikes any items involving time, why does he have a pocket watch?
Answer: He’s wearing it around his neck as a spiteful way towards Fumihiko for treating him like shit for 3 years so he stole it from him (and a very useful thing at that because the pocket watch he’s holding onto right now is someone else’s life so if he ever breaks it, that someone will die, though, he doesn’t know it yet)
7. What are the backstories of Elijah’s and Emir’s?
Answer: You’ll know it soon once I fully make an mv of it 😉

Don't worry, I've got you covered!
I'm not really sure what to talk about so lets talk about the inside of the enderchest and how it might affect blob!
To cover this quickly ... the inside of the chest is nothing. Like, nothing. Empty. Void. No light, no sound, nothing but you and eternal nothingness. Sensory deprivation box 10 000. You do not wanna get stuck in this. On the bright side, the chest's magic prevents Dream from dying of thirst or starvation, in fact time passes differently there, slower than in the world outside. I'm not decided on what exactly the ratio is but the 5 years that passed weren't 5 years for Dream (I have no idea what 5 years of complete sensory deprivation would do to him so I'm backing off from that) still it was damn long (I'd say between a few months and a year cuz I really have no idea)
I struggle to decide how this will affect Dream. Currently I'm kinda working with stuff like sensitivity to light and noise, dissociation, memory loss (he already struggled with this in prison, mostly he doesn't remember stuff from before prison) and of course serious lasting damage from torture.
When he's finally released from the chest, he has no recognition of Sapnap or Karl. He only vaguely recognizes Quackity. Even then he only associates him with rules, pain and the box (as he calls the enderchest). He also developed a pretty serious self-harming habit.
In the chest he couldn't see or hear anything (not even himself when he spoke, after being out he struggles differing between his thoughts (not that there were many, most of the time he just kinda dissociates) and what he said out loud). The pain soon became a comfort, it proved that he still exists, that somewhere in that dark is a body. That he is in fact still alive.
For the longest time he is overly sensitive to any sound or light. It's overwhelming for him no matter how soft it is (even the sound of his own voice sometimes bothers him, he's not used to hearing it). This makes taking care of him quite difficult for the fiancees (now husbands as you might've noticed)
Snippet:
Sapnap entered the room slowly, trying his hardest to make as little noise as possible. He thought he was doing a decent job, the sob from the bed told him he didn't.
Dream sat curled on the sheets, keeping his head hidden in his knees. A first sign that today is a very bad day. Still the blaze tried, approaching carefully, keeping his voice barely audible.
"Dream?"
The blonde shook his head, as if he was trying to deny the whole situation. His hands clapped over his ears firmly, making the ravenette sigh. He wanted to help his friend but how could he when even talking seem to make things worse? On most days he'd just leave and give Dream time to calm down, or dissociate, but today he couldn't. It's been 2 days since Dream last drunk and even longer since his last meal. That might've been the most frustrating part, Dream completely ignored his body's needs. They didn't know much about what the inside of the chest was like but given that Dream was still alive and not a starved corpse it was very likely that he didn't need to eat or drink in there. That probably explained why he always forgot to do it now. The first few tries that got him to throw up immediately didn't help either.
But he had to eat! He- he had to ... if he won't ... Sapnap wasn't ready to lose him again. He had to make sure Dream lives, if not for his own sake than for Quackity's. The duck hybrid was devastated after he realized what he's done. He was just coming to peace with what happened in the prison, what he did in search of power. This- this hit him hard. If Dream died now Q would forever blame himself.
"Dream, please, you need to eat."
The blonde only shook his head again. Whenever it was a response to Sapnap's words or just an attempt to block out his voice was unclear. The blaze felt tears weight in his eyes but he ignored them in favour of looking around the room to ensure the blinds were closed properly. On good days Dream could handle dim light the curtain let in without trouble but direct sunlight was something he could take just yet, not even with blindfold on. Speaking of ... Sapnap's eyes caught on the strip of fabric discarded on the bed next to Dream. He must've became overwhelmed by it again.
At this point tears fell freely of blaze's amber eyes. For 5 years he thought that his best friend is death. And despite everything he missed him. Even after more than 6 years he'd sometimes looked over his shoulder, Dream's name on his lips with some lewd joke, only to meet an empty space where his friend should be. There was a hole in his heart no amount of laughing with his husbands could fill. He never stopped regretting the last words he told Dream. The goddamn promise! His best friend died thinking that he hates him. He'd do anything to be able to speak to Dream one more time, to apologize and-
Now after all those years his wish came true. Dream was alive ... and Sapnap almost wished he wasn't.

13. What are some must-read fanfics in your fandom? Why do you admire these, and how have they impacted your works?
I'm not nearly reading enough fanfics about Astarion - which is solely because I have too much shit to do... So it's mostly one-shots I come across.
I guess, for one, you absolutely HAVE to read @tripleyeeets A Lover's Folly because wow (and also there's another story developing)... Their writing is amazing, the way the characters are written... also their writing deeply motivates me to get better because I feel like I have much to learn in terms of articulation and just in a technical sense.
@sweatandwoe has written some amazing one-shots for requests and wrote this one here which desperately made me want to write a story with ascended Astarion and all the angst and slow-burn in the world.
@lokasxnna has written this wonderful piece about Astarion and his pointy ears (and the title is so amazing): To Hold Me Like Water And I just love the idea and the way a soft, intimate moment is shared.
@thatfreshi writes very emotional one-shots that explore vulnerable moments, that sometimes go as far as making my chest hurt: Not if You Collect Them Like Ex-Lovers (Enjoy the damn pain, y'all!) And that really made me want to include more moments in my stories where Astarion and Tav deeply connect on an emotional level
Alright, some more questions, this will be long, so rest goes under the cut:
14. What aspects of your creative process do you enjoy the most? Which are most challenging?
Most? Thinking about it, immersing myself in the world and the characters, down to the last little details. Coming up with stupid or very emotional stuff and funny (at least to me) dialogue.
Most challenging is definitely finding the time to work on stuff - atm I could really just keep writing all day. Also... the English words won't English sometimes although it's gotten better already (I think??). But yeah, cliché, I know, but: English isn't my first language - so... I'm sorry.
15. What programs/tools do you use while writing?
I write in Word and use OneDrive so I can work on different devices (might move over to GoogleDocs soon to make that easier). Dict.cc is my best friend in terms of vocabulary, when I don't remember exactly if I've chosen the right word or just can't English for a hot moment... Also Spotify stays ON while writing. That's it I guess.
18. Are there any themes or tropes that you enjoy writing? Any themes or tropes you hate writing?
I can't say that I've written awfully much yet, so let's go with what I think I'd like or hate. I definitely like enemies-to-lovers and slowburn, a good grumpy meets sunshine trope, grumpy characters, sassy characters, gothic themes and environments, the gentleman villain trope... List could go on I think. Things I really don't enjoy is like major miscommunication and when characters just won'T FUCKING TALK ABOUT WTF IT IS THAT BOTHERS THEM, UUUGH (this is the worst really and makes a lot for lazy writing when trying to create drama, imho) But I can't really think of something else that I'd really hate (other than stuff that's ofc not legal or shit like that).

Horrors Beyond the Bayou AU Infodump (Q & A Style)
Edit : This AU has been renamed "Dirty Paws, Little Talks"!
First off, any triggering topics?
• Yes, there are several triggering topics that are gone over in this AU. There is a lot of bad and messed up shit happening here, the fic will be rated M on Ao3 when I start posting. Please be advised that there is going to be a lot of very upsetting topics being mentioned or discussed! This includes but is not limited to: viewing a person as property, graphic depictions of violence/torture, talk of death/suicide, suicidal ideation, self harm, graphic depictions of gore, use of weapons such as knives, etc. There will be a lot of heavy stuff in this AU. You have been warned. (All posts for this AU will be properly tagged.)
What’s the main plot of the story?
• Fazbear Entertainment basically has an underground system for black market sales because they never can pass up a few extra bucks. One of the few things they sell are tiny little creatures called Borrowers, a species thought only to exist in children’s story books (for those who don’t know what borrowers are, here’s a wiki link). Y/N is a borrower who escapes their containment before being sold, but now must learn to survive in the Pizzaplex and all the dangers it brings.
Who’s the main cast?
• Y/N is our protagonist, but Sun & Moon and Monty are also main characters in this AU. A lot of the first half of this AU is simply just for setting up Y/N’s relationship with them (romantic for DCA, queerplatonic for Monty). A lot of the other canon characters come in on the second half of the plot, which will tackle the canon plot of Security Breach. Freddy, Gregory, and another surprise character will become friends with Y/N during this time as they work together to figure out what’s happening at the Pizzaplex. Some familiar faces that are canon to FNAF but aren’t seen in SB will also be showing up!
What relationships can we expect to see?
• Sun x Y/N is a definite, but I’m on the fence whether to make Moon and Y/N romantic or queerplatonic. I’m still working on Moon’s personality in the AU, so I’m not quite sure what his sexuality is yet (they are genderfluid though). There is queerplatonic Monty & Y/N, something I wasn’t actually planning on from the start but that showed up and didn’t want to leave. They both rely heavily on each other throughout certain things that happen in the first half of the plot, and form a very tight bond. There’s also some background Roxy/Chica because those two are literally so in love and you can’t tell me otherwise. (I would like to add that all interactions are SFW, and Y/N is portrayed as being asexual. Lots of cuddles and kisses but that’s about it.)
What’s the setting of the story?
A large majority of the first half of the plot takes place in Monty Golf, and Y/N’s home is there for a very large majority of the whole plot. That’s actually how I came up with the AU name. The Theater/Daycare are the second most used setting in this AU. We will eventually be seeing the whole Pizzaplex, but for the first half of the plot Y/N is stuck to the ground floor. The Daycare has a very different set up during the very beginning of the AU since it’s technically still a theater then. The canonical theater part of the daycare was all concessions/storage back then, and the main stage was the ball pit area. The glass walls used to be bleacher-type sitting areas, separated by what is still currently being used as the daycare doorway. The line that Moon uses to get around in the air was something kept from the theater, and used to be used to better entertain and immerse the audience.
What’s the borrower world building?
• The first and most obvious thing, borrowers are a real thing in this AU. While they inspired fictional works like the Borrowers book series and the Littles, they are real beings. They look mostly human and have human intelligence, but have a few differences. They tend to have mouse-like ears, a padded nose, fangs, digigrade legs/feet, claws, tails, and fur in some areas. Their heart and respiratory rate are also considerably faster, much more in tune with that of small rodents. Borrowers tend to actually live in colonies in large abandoned buildings or old houses. Yes, there are still plenty who live in human households, but borrowers find it infinitely more safer to stay clear of human populated areas. Borrower culture can change dramatically depending on if they live in colonies or not and what location they live in, but most borrowers tend to view the sun and moon as almost gods. It’s not the same way humans typically view gods, probably better to be compared to good omens and horoscopes. While the brightness of the day isn’t safe for borrowers, the sun helps grow their food and provides them with shadow, as darkness cannot exist without light. Children born during the day are often viewed to be gifted with some sort of ability to nurture and provide. The moon is a symbol of protection, and new moons are seems as blessings. Children born at night are viewed to have different abilities based on the moon phases. Babes of the New Moon are viewed to have have the potential to create great change and are seen as lucky to have around. It’s unknown why, but sun babies and new moon babies are actually quite rare. Most borrowers tend to have their babies during or near the full moon. (This cultural view on the sun and moon does affect how Y/N views Sun & Moon in the beginning, but it’s simply a push to trust them more than the other Pizzaplex inhabitants. More of a subconscious push.)
