Despite enjoying mornings about as much as @Garfield looks forward to Mondays, joining the fabulous @KrystalNews3LV behind the desk at @News3LV makes even the rainiest days shine brightly! This morning’s “Man About Town” segment found me attempting to articulate just how not-ready I was for VELVET RODEO, @MirandaLambert’s brilliant new @CaesarsEntertainment and @LiveNationVegas-presented residency show—designed by @RajKapoorProductions, lit by @TSuth88, and styled by @TiffanyGiffordStyle, with Lambert featuring a look by @TheBlondsNY that was later paired with a metallic-pink fringed jacket (that shot sparks!!) from her own @Idyllwind collection—in the @ZapposTheater at @PHVegas. MewTube Video: "2013 PWT Opening"
Recorded by Tyn Remi, September 1st, 2020
[a crowd is gathered outside the PWT building as someone records on their phone. Standing next to them, in the edge of the frame, is an older woman wearing a blue wool sweater and an Absol. The Absol seems antsy, as it keeps looking around.]
Woman: "Blisterin' Binnacle, lookit this crowd. Whatcha say this is again?"
Tyn: "The Pokémon World Tournament, Captain! Trainers and Gym Leaders from all over have gathered to--Milou, settle down--have gathered to battle one another, as a televised event."
[The woman turns towards the camera, one brow raised.]
Captain: "Was this before or after Galar's Gym Challenge became sport?"
Tyn: "That's... Still debated, honestly. The Chairman and the organizer of the PWT were--oh, there he is!"
[the camera turns to look straight ahead at the front of the PWT. Several Gym staff are standing by as Gym Leader Clay walks out the door, a woman in a blue and pink business suit next to him. The crowd breaks into shouts and applause, some people moving around.]
Clay: "Awright, awright, settle down. I know y'all are itchin' to get this show started. Before we do though, just a quick overview for those of ya who're new to this lil shindig--well, not that little anymore. Y'all get the point."
[Some laughter bubbles up from the crowd. The camera turns down towards the Captain as Milou the Absol whines again.]
Captain: "Sae what's this bloke's deal again, he's a miner?"
Tyn: "Rock mining, yes. His company mines for stones, minerals and meta--Mon Arceus Milou, what is the matter??"
[As the camera focuses on Milou, it is clear that the Absol is staring intently at a hooded figure pushing through the crowd. The camera shakes a little as Tyn elbows the Captain, seemingly gesturing towards the figure. As they speak, the camera lowers as Tyn crouches to undo the leash on their Absol's harness, but still holding on to them.]
Captain: "What, what's-... the hell? Should we-?"
Tyn: "Not yet. It may be nothing, but let's just watch."
[Clay continues to speak as the hooded figure weaves through the crowd, trying to get as close to the front as possible.]
Clay: "-have been made to reach out ta Kalos, Alola, Galar an' Paldea. However, there are some legal matters ta hash out, especially considerin' Kalos' recent, eh... 'incident,' ta put it nicely. Our condolences go out ta those lost 'n Geosenge."
[The hooded figure is now at the front of the crowd, seemingly pulling something out of their coat. In one fluid motion they throw what looks like a bag of black liquid at Clay, hitting him in the face and chest, as their free hand pulls their hood back to show blonde hair. Clay is cut off during his speech, sputtering and coughing on the inky black substance.]
Clay: "But with that, we can fffPFFT FUCK THE HELL-?!!"
Blonde Stranger: "Go to fucking HELL ya oil tycoon piece of SHIT!! That's only SOME of what you FUCKING DESERVE!!"
[The stranger starts to run as Clay is coughing on the black dye. The woman next to Clay releases an Alolan Ninetales as Tyn lets go of their Absol's harness.]
Tyn: "Captain! Cut off her escape!"
Captain: "Aye!!"
Tyn: "Now Milou!! Poursuite!!"
[The Captain lets out a Grapploct in front of the Blonde Stranger seconds before Milou tackles and pins them. The Alolan Ninetales walks over and stops at theBlonde Figure, now prone. The Ninetales' trainer walks over as Tyn lowers their phone and runs over as well. The recording is blurry for a moment, then simply shows the ground.]
Tyn: "Wait! We helped stop them! We want to help, Miss--er...?"
Mildred: "Mildred. And yeah, the help's appreciated. You have anything on this ecoterrorist wannabe?"
Captain: "Aye. They've been recordin' this whole thing!"
Tyn: "Yes! Oh, let me just-"
[The recording ends.]

I’ve been at school for too long.
My mind stretches itself too far,
And my eyes stare at white until they’re too sore
To do anything but close.
