oh, it's not that exciting, it's actualy awful. i mentioned it towards the tail end of chapter five of rm. it's basically what cartman used to call kyle when they were growing up. a really cruel fucked up nickname.

the sp boys used to be fucking horrible to kyle because cartman ruled their elementary/middle school. and when cartman and the boys saw kyle in the hallway they were like "what are you doing here, broflovski? trash day's tomorrow" or omg whenever he walked ANYWHERE they made the "Beep! Beep! Beep!" trash truck noises, but worst of all was that they used to dump out...Full Trashcans On Him. like spoiled milk, rotted food stuffs, glass bottles that werent put in recycling, crushed aluminum cans that cut his cheeks, all kinds of awful, foul smelling sludge...sigh. :/ ily so much baby jersey.

also, if you want to cry extra hard, i think that being covered in all that disgusting lunchroom trash, feeling it soak thru his shirt, stink down to the skin, pool around his shoes, get buried in his hair -- just feeling that dirty and disgusting and Unclean was one of the factors that made his ocd so severe and it's a large part as to why he takes scorching showers and rubs his skin raw bc especially if he smells something weird or its trash day, he gets triggered & has to SCRUB.

but anygays! you bet your ass that tiny lil stan was giving them ALL the business rippin around on his bike brandishing his hockey stick like a big sword, running them out of town and back to their mommas crying and screaming bloody murder all in that giant wayne gretsky *ravenstan vc* yersey...they were SCARED, lolllll!!!

which is a very interesting juxtaposition to sweet, gentle stan very lovingly picking all the food debris out of his kyles beautiful curly whirly hair before marching him over to the bathroom where while kyle showers, stan always sits on the toliet bc their running joke is that kyle might drown ( yes yersey also can't swim ) while stan listens to rock n colors his nails in w/ sharpie or stolen nail polish from shell.

and he's just like "dude, Fuck them, kyle! those fkn gilipollas are just mad because theyre all total perros and you're the most handsome guy in school, hands down." wHICH? AAA??? tbf stan does say shit like that all the time & Means It bc ravenstan has loved jers from the moment he Heard him but kyle thinks he's fuckin w/ him

The fact that Main-verse Ooo is as good and as kind as it is (relative to the other universes shown so far, at least, it's obviously not perfect) all because of the same character that starts off as the OG series' antagonist, the person we were made to see as the bad guy (albeit an often ineffectual one) for several seasons, is making me lose my mind.

Imagine finding out the guy you spent your childhood beating up and saving princesses from is in fact a driving catalyst behind you being able to exist, and not only exist but also live in a world that knows what kindness is. All because that man, the same man who you've witnessed do terrible things, once met a little girl and taught her how to be good.

Simon's story really shows us that even if you lose your way and forget how it is to be good yourself, the world keeps the memory for you. That act of love Simon showed Marcy by protecting her and seeing her as more than the monster she thought herself to be created ripples upon ripples, small at first but eventually enough to help give their wreckage of a world—a world that easily could have been forsaken, its goodness overlooked because of its inhospitable remains—a chance to grow into something beautiful. Because of those very same ripples Simon created, the people of Ooo grew up in a world where they know enough about kindness that they were able and willing to spare the 'bad guy' some, to see beyond the wreckage and allow him to grow too.

In saving Marceline, Simon helped to not only to save the world, but also himself.

@snazzy-jas-z-is-a-fan-of came up with SO MUCH of the possible politics and family ties of this au, it was incredible to watch and I think I finally understand enough to post about it 😂 there’s a balance of power between the two branches of Evermore royalty, which balance is shifting slowly to the Moriyamas and by the end of the story belongs solely to them with Ichirou as king. I’ll try to explain it in a different post if there’s interest

(And lest we go a day without Abram angst: he does in fact get his brand and more, when he’s taken back to Evermore and Riko takes the chance to reclaim his property ‘like he should have done to begin with’.)

You guys are always yapping about how Criston Cole is Rhaenyra’s victim. Even though the show contradicts you on this point many times. Even though the producers contradict you on this point repeatedly.

However, no one wants to reckon with the fact that those men took a tale about a misogynistic paedophile and the child he groomed and isolated and then turned his child victim into the initiator/aggressor.

It’s par for the course with the adaptors. We watched it happen with Dany and Jorah, Doreah and Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Loras Tyrell and the homophobic way they adapted his story. The racist, heavily sexualised way they adapted the sand snakes and Ellaria Sand. I had hoped the fandom would know better by now but alas!

sorry i'm thinking abt megumi's incessant desire to be the first to die vs. the narrative keeping him alive despite and how the most tragic ending for him is not actually dying, but being left behind. for megumi, the worst fate is living a long life

This entire thing is me infodumping about Luis’ character and how I interpreted it because he everything to me

Luis as a character means so much to me in the way that he just feels real? If that makes sense?

Like he’s such a genuinely tragic character. He watched his grandfather, the person who raised him, get bitten by a wolf and become infected, then the village burned his home down. He gets wrapped up with Umbrella’s shit, likely because he was an aspiring prodigy. Getting assigned to the Laboratory Six Team. Then after ditching Umbrella and disappearing back to his home town, he finds the people he grew up around all taken over by this cult. (Let’s not forget his village went from a catholic cult to whatever the fuck Los Illuminados was)

He gets dragged into this whole mess by Saddler, getting hired to research the parasite. Whether it be pure curiosity and getting to nerd over a new parasite, or doing it for the sake of keeping his life. Luis’ choices in life, his mistakes, were his own fault.

Because even when he realizes that Saddler was up to know good, betraying Los Illuminados and getting tied up with Ada, it was already too late for him. His mistakes simply hadn’t caught up with him yet.

He wanted to help people, he feels compassion even despite his shady past. Considering his childhood, it’s likely that Luis seeks or sought out any sort of validation. He’s used to smooth talking people, slipping out of messy situations, but all it did was prolong the inevitable once he got tangled with Los Illuminados, maybe even as early as Umbrella.

Yet Luis continues to make the same mistakes, again and again. He further drags himself into this hole he’s digging because it’s all he knows how to do. His line of “Because it makes me feel better” to Leon correlates to his past because with Umbrella and Los Illuminados, it was likely he did all that research to make himself feel better about himself. Living in this fantasy that he was helping people, when it actuality he’s just trying to make himself feel better.

But then he by chance meets an American agent sent to save the president’s daughter from Los Illuminados. That’s when he realizes for once he can actually help someone.

He can prove to Leon, to himself, that he can change. That he can stop making these mistakes, that he can be a good person.

Maybe he even starts to think that he can weasel his way around death again. That he can make it to the end of Leon’s mission with him. Maybe grow close enough that instead of just fleeing with Ada, he chooses to flee with Leon and Ashley.

Or perhaps deep down he knew his time was running out, so he simply tried his best to help Leon as much as he can. Make a good choice for once in his life.

And hey, he got to hang out with a hot American agent until the very end, grow close with him and flirt at any given opportunity.

Luis feels so real because he’s such a flawed person. He makes human mistakes.

Most people like to believe they’re a good person deep down, but they continue to make mistakes over and over, hurting themself or others around them over and over. When you’ve grown accustomed to habits, they become hard to break.

Especially when that’s the only way you’ve lived your life.

Sometimes you need a person to come into your life and give you that push to change.

For Luis, I wholeheartedly believe it was Leon. Leon gave Luis the opportunity to prove himself. Not even just to Leon, but to himself.

If anyone ever tells me re4r Luis is a forgettable character I will personally smack them cause he was so integral to Leon’s character development, even after Luis’ death, he’s on Leon’s mind. Luis showed Leon that even though we may make some stupid choices in life, we aren’t all doomed to fall down that bad path forever.
