Did anyone else feel bad for Silas?

On my first playthrough when we find Silas, he’s curled up in the same cage he was kept in while being touted as a “freak.”

He was scared and ran to the ONE place he felt safe when he was hurt. It’s even more tragic when the one place he felt safest was where he was treated like nothing more than a sideshow freak, for people to throw things at because they didn’t understand what or who he was.

Throughout the game, we’re the same. Silas is just an abomination that must be stopped.

But when you get the the scene where he’s curled up, hurt and scared, you really see that he’s still just a scared child who doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t know why he’s treated like he is. He’s scared. He knows he’s done bad things, but he’s still just a child.

Killing Silas, while required to save everyone, still felt wrong.

I didn’t want to kill this scared creature begging for his mom.

I don’t see people talking about Silas or how tortured he was. He was a tragic character and deserved better.

Hello and welcome, camp counselors and eager new campers alike! We are proud to announce the HACKETT’S QUARRY SUMMER CAMP CELEBRATION WEEK.

What is the HACKETT’S QUARRY SUMMER CAMP CELEBRATION WEEK, you may ask? Great question!

It’s 7 days in August dedicated to celebrating THE QUARRY, the new game from Supermassive Games. One prompt per day, we welcome all sorts of fannish content: fic, art, vids, playlists, gifsets, headcanons. Anything and everything!

The celebration week will run from August 17, 2022, to August 23rd, 2022, meaning it ends on the one year anniversary of that fateful night (or morning, technically) at Hackett’s Quarry! What a better way to commemorate that crazy night than talking about our favorite characters, ships, and more?
