The plight of the writer,

to be holed up in some room for eons on end, filled with words and stories and people shouting at you from silent walls. The plight of a writer- no audience but your own mind to sustain you in the vicious mockery of your own mind. The playwrights see the people laugh and scream and cry at the things on the stage. The singer bares their soul for all who listen and the painter’s gasp and awe stricken by the beauty of creation. Writers we are of wicked breed.

There is no town square for the writer like there is the poet. No stage to stand upon or song to greet peoples ear. But yet we still paint pictures, sing songs, give tony award winning performances between the pages of our stories. Bound and dusty are we like stuck on a underground train on the way into the city, we are stuck with the plight of the writer.

 Give us the bones and we will build you not just life, but legacy and legends. Lament with us the suffrage of a writer.  To sit hours on end in front of our tools and them to tell us ‘fuck off’. Lament in the years we spend; waiting, lusting after the words to tell the things from our head. Plight or not- we light the way under backbones of ancient monsters, killing the king in the dark of night, a knife to your throat as the villain tells you ‘red is really your colour’.

Yet we see no astonishing riches, no gasping or awing like the painter, or standing ovation like the actor. We stay locked away in our rooms- isolated.

If anyone needs me today I will be taking my own psychic damage from putting my little guys in devastating situations that I 100% could have prevented but didn't for the sake of good storytelling.

My Complete & Current Projects

I feel like I haven't properly provided summaries of the stories I'm current working on as of yet, so here you go! ✧System Collapse✧ A story set in a dimension called the Hub, which contains a self sustaining cyberpunk lite city surrounded by a vast forest called the Deadlands. Intelligent races of all types live here more or less peacefully. But that doesn't mean there's no dark goings on under the surface. The story revolves Comet and his best friend Blip. They're trying to figure out how and why Blip's brother Oz disappeared, only to come back later with powerful tech controlling abilities, and calling himself DeathScreen. At the same time, Blip has a serious problem of his own, and is forced to leave the city, leaving it up to Comet to unravel what is really going on. ✧Catalyst: the Void Children✧ (formerly just called Teen's Story because I didn't know what else to call it at the time)

This one revolves around Tiger, Luna, and Ruby, 3 teens who are voidlings: beings who are bestowed powerful abilities against their will, and are feared by others for the lethal energy they contain. Rejected or alone for different reasons, they come together in order to survive their wanderings just outside of society, dodging people out to hunt them down, as well as a cult who sees Tiger in particular as the key to jumpstarting their own dark plans.

They long for a place where they'll be safe, but how do you find that in a world that sees you as villains and monsters?

A short prequal comic to System Collapse. Alton, a counsel member of Hub City, invites Xiao, the newly crowned champion of the gaunto's annual combat tournament for a celebratory dinner. But strangely enough, Xiao doesn't seem all that happy with his own accomplishment. Curious, Alton inquires as to why. The resulting conversation may just give Xiao a new perspective on things. tbh you could make an argument for rudy being in those top 10 saddest bob's burgers episodes lists. beyond the surface its a very sad protrayal of childhood isolation and family seperation and the trauma that comes with that vs the longing for a family that always loves and understands each other. works better on those lists than the plight before christmas and snow mama from the grave At least.....

am i writing because i genuinely have the desire to write right now?

or am i writing to try to get back into the habit of doing that because doing so made me happy in the past and i could really benefit from having a hobby that makes me happy right now?

or am i writing because i want to have good stuff to post so that i can get praise and attention because i’m lonely?

or am i writing because i know that most of my followers followed me for my writing and i feel extremely guilty that i haven’t posted any fics since last spring?

You know that feeling (and this is going to be a very specific feeling) when you want to write a shippy fic and you’ve absolutely got the intended…payoff…front of mind, but you know you need the right setup to justify it, so you start writing, you’re several thousand words in already, half of it’s one of the two characters in the relationship having a conversation with her concerned but genuinely protective mother, and nobody’s even gotten into the hotel yet?

when the story about werewolves (historically an effective metaphor for the queer experience) turns out to be an allegory about the queer experience: 😮 (this is shocking for some reason)

sorry but this is kind of annoying to me. that is the uh. point of this show. 

That feeling when you just know your ships wouldn't get along with your other ships, so you have to plot extra hard if you want to feature them all in the same fic.

okay in the books the idea that francesca findabair wants to genocide all the humans is heavily implied to be propaganda about her alliance with nilfgaard (and the real stakes of dol blathana and the payment the empire demands are revealed later) and not uhhhhhhhhh her actual stated opinion. what is going on
