what are your top 3 songs right now, and what characters would you pair with them ?
ooo interesting i love connecting music to characters and thinking way too much about it. the top 3 songs i’ve been listening to recently are:
1. skin by allison ponthier
2. don’t forget me by maggie rogers
3. natural affair by the growlers
i don’t actually have characters i already associate with these but i assume you mean CR characters if you’re here.
i would say fearne for skin because it’s a really cute song but also very creepy and about wanting to wear the skin of someone you like, which is her vibe!! i could definitely see someone writing this song about fearne too. but! it also really reminds me of how i view the vexleth dynamic, especially in early c1 (from keyleth’s pov).
i associate so much of maggie rogers’ music with imogen but i would say don’t forget me is more of a keyleth song, especially post-campaign 1. she has gone through so much and pretty much everyone has moved on but her! she needs “a good lover or just someone who’s nice to [her].”
natural affair is not my usual kind of music but i’ve been listening to it non-stop this week. i think i’d actually assign this one to caduceus, funnily enough. it reminds me of his wisdom around the wildmother and how nature is not just peaceful but often very violent. the whole song feels like cad giving the rest of the mighty nein his typical very-odd-but-usually-good advice. also the “you’re a hardened soul and not a piece of clay” line fit too well. that being said “if the world is round, how come it’s upside down?” is perfect for FCG.
thank you for asking, anon, this was fun!

Hi, my name is Paulina, and this blog is dedicated to music! This blog is shared with my best friend, Catherine. My music taste is very diverse, consisting of mostly 60s-70s rock, metal, old country, and many more genres. My favorite bands are The Growlers, The Doors, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and many more. I'm extremely into music, and I have an extensive vinyl collection and am currently starting a cassette collection. This blog will be used to rate music, share music, album/song reviews, music news, and anything involving music. :P
Hi I’m Catherine! I am the other owner of this blog. I have an extremely diverse music taste spanning from different decades and genres. I love rock, alternative, jazz, indie, and so much more. My favorite bands and artists consist of The Beatles, David Bowie, Sonic Youth, Lana Del Rey, Van Morrison, George Harrison, The Black Angels, Led Zeppelin, and so many more. Music truly consumes me and I find myself constantly needing music for so many aspects of my life. I currently collect CDs and Vinyls. My goal with this blog is to help preserve and talk about different types of music. Im hoping to be able to start an interesting discussion and even seeking new perspectives and finding new kinds of music.

Do you hear that? The screams, the whispers, the stories of lives untold? They're coming from The Valley...
Do you feel that? The stares from behind the curtains, the red Earth under your feet, the dry heat, the fire from below? It's coming from The Valley...
Do you hear that? The wicked beats, Australian-Gothic sub-influences, killer modern instrumental, your next favourite band? They are The Valley.
Introducing,
The Valley of The Vultures. An ethereal grunge-rock band hailing from rural Victoria that has a story to tell. The band's founder and lead singer, Sami Le Launter (what a name!) has taken elusive elements from Australian-Gothic such as themes of; isolation, death and hauntings, rejection, fear, and entrapment - and put them in sparkly cowboy boots.
Placing a twist on what we know to be of the Gothic genre, VoTV has further expanded the band's sound by incorporating Australian surf-rock styles and prog rock into the mix, creating something that is truly unique to the contemporary Aus music scene. With 15 monthly listeners, this is a very new and promising band with small gig dates expected over the next 6 months, and possibly a new spooky single!
Standout single 'Fleshed Out Boogie" from their debut album, contains all the elements of a good Australian Rock song -that being, entertaining to listen to, but not too hard on the brain - making it a song perfect for your next afternoon cookout. The song's true hook is found within the contrast between the verses and the chorus. This is done by Le Vaunter's clever use of vocals, by transitioning from an almost monotone, more sensible storytelling technique within the verses, to a passionate series of 'howl-like' cries within the chorus, effectively reminding the listener of the subtle themes of gothic and horror within the song. All this is done whilst keeping the song aligned with the soft 'surf-esque' vibes that Australia hold near and dear to its music scene.
Surely to be enjoyed by lovers of: Lazy Ghost, Plastic Beach, The Howlers, The Growlers, and Truckfighters.

I’m not asking you to forget
I’m only asking to be forgiven
So keep your memories good or bad
And your head, I don’t care about that
It’s your heart I wanna live in
