The villain isn’t one to intervene when someone else gets themself into deep shit. It’s their own damn fault, usually, and the villain tends to find at least some entertainment in people fucking around and finding out.
Heroes aren’t usually the ones fucking around, though, let alone finding out, so it peaks the villain’s interest when they come across a hero doing just that. And their favourite hero too, god, what a treat. Heroes are as stupid as they look, clearly.
The hero’s been cornered in an alleyway by someone a lot larger than them; that alone is a feat. The hero, all smiles and unearned confidence and bolshy dramatics, has somehow managed to piss off the only person in the city that has more on them in the ‘intimidating size’ department.
The villain scoots closer for a better view as the other person’s hand drifts lightly up the hero’s neck, words spoken between them that’re lost to the wind before the villain can hear them. The hero stares up at them, wide-eyed, their lips parted slightly.
Damn, the villain would be shoving popcorn in their mouth right now if they had any.
The person’s hand tightens on the hero’s throat—the villain can see the shadowy dents in their skin, even from here—leaning their face in close to the hero’s to whisper something to them. The hero’s hands grasp at the person’s wrist, though not particularly tightly, their eyes closing against what is clearly a murder attempt.
Wow. Heroes don’t get into shit often because they don’t know how to act when they do, obviously. The villain, a master at getting into shit and subsequently dragging themself out of it, decides to intervene. As fun as this little show is, the only person allowed to lay a finger on the hero is the villain.
They flick their blade out with a satisfying click, taking a few steps forward to put themself in the limelight of the moment. “Okay,” they say flatly, earning a pair of interesting, startled noises from the two in front of them, “break it up.”
The hero meets their eye with the same wide-eyed surprise as before. “[Villain], what— where’d you—”
The villain ignores them. “Step away,” they say sharply, their blade pointed to the person leaning over the hero. They do as they’re told, looking just as startled as the hero, their back bumping against the opposite wall in their haste to move. “Good.”
“[Villain],” the hero repeats, finally earning half the villain’s interest, “what’re you doing?”
“Saving your ass, since you clearly can’t do it yourself,” the villain snaps. Their gaze still rests on the other person, nervously averting their eyes from the villain’s. “You’re welcome, by the way.”
There’s a long moment of silence. Long enough for the villain to wonder if they actually said that outloud. “I’m okay,” the hero says eventually, their voice quiet. “You can, um, go. They’re my, uh– they’re my partner.”
The villain glances back to the hero, their gaze also turned away, their cheeks a hot pink, and the villain finally realises, oh fuck, they’re not nervous, they’re awkward.
The villain’s dagger lowers slightly in horror. They glance at the other person, their eyes still pointed to the ground, their face also burning. The villain would apologise if this weirdo hadn’t been so intent on making this look like a goddamn crime.
“Tip for next time,” the villain says flatly, though they can feel their own embarrassment hot in their stomach, “keep this, y’know, behind closed doors. And if that’s still too hard, at least do it somewhere I’m not going to find you and think I’m stumbling in on a murder.”
“Noted.” The hero’s voice is so small. This discomfort would be an incredible victory for the villain any other day, but unfortunately the villain wants to throw themself off a cliff as well. Painfully so. They’re not sure why they’re stalling; they want to get the hell out of here.
“Great. Okay. Yeah.” The villain takes a step back, their dagger hastily shoved back into their belt. “Okay, well… bye.”
The hero gives them a short nod and their partner waves at them. The villain would think they’re taking the piss if they didn’t look like they immediately regretted it after.
The villain escapes that alley like they’re outrunning the law. They make a mental note as they go, one they know they won’t forget—keep to your damn business.

He brings him up right after the radio hosts spent a good amount of time talking about the Beatles (which Louis has used to signal about babygate before. He’s also in a blue green outfit that day).

Zach Sang: very interesting right off the bat. First Freddie mention comes with Zach mentioning he is Louis’ Future when talking about what Future means to Louis. Louis is caught off guard but then quickly says “yeah, yeah the kid is the future!” then, later on, when Zach mentions he saw Louis in LA, Louis goes into asking him which night to not wait for him to answer just to say “my son was there” and to talk about this beautiful emotional moment he had with Freddie, locking eyes with him (backpedalling bc how do you do that at the YouTube theater lol it’s way too far and dark). He’s eloquent and goes into detail about how Freddie goes to bed at 7 usually. Then later on, Zach again brings up Freddie, asking if he’s part in shaping his idea of success, and again Louis is caught off guard and stumbles over his words, stuttering and rambling. It seems clear he’s confident in talking about him when he’s initiating but swimming when someone else brings it up non-planned. He also doesn’t see him in his future, keeps forgetting about him there, or with the song writing. Extremely interesting as well is that the Freddie bit is the first (only?) snippet posted to Zach‘s TikTok. He also seems to be awfully concerned about his arse tattoo being seen by new people in situations where he’s about to get frisky with them: two questions - what about eleanormegirlfriend? And in which hetero context is his arse the first thing you see when taking his clothes off for sex?

I will edit to add as we go through this promo season, but as of now, we have 29 / 91 Freddie mentions during interviews for LT2 Faith in the Future promo, all of them seem out of place if you pay close attention (why would you advertise your album with your six year old son after supposedly crying for privacy before?), and on almost every single occasion he signals through clothing / topics. I believe it wasn’t pre-discussed that the interviewer would bring up Freddie, as Louis got caught pretty off guard and wasn’t signalling with his clothes. The interviewer did say he watched a lot of recent videos and clips of him before the interview, so I guess he saw that big fat Freddie segment from Australian morning TV as his preparation for the interview.
Depending on the format, they either have predetermined talking points and provided images and visuals, like for Lorraine and RTL, where the programme focuses more on celeb gossip, or he finds ways to inject a Freddie mention into the segment himself (ladbible, radio deejay,...). LTHQ posting that snippet of the ladbible segment though is extremely telling. They are using narration points they know fans will recognise and are backed up by fan videos etc, like the LTWTLA1 show. It’s also interesting that Louis rarely mentions Freddie when fans are present like in Q&As and M&Gs.
There are a few talking points that crystallize this promo run:
my fans are the best and I’m eternally grateful for and to them (fan service)
Faith in the Future was a phrase he chose before the pandemic and is his, that he felt a connection to it, it spoke to him, a magnetism, and he likes to share it to mean something hopeful but is adamant about it being around since about 6 months before lockdown (Future Is Now = Faith In The Future = The End Plan developed before lockdown started?)

Chicago is half his own experiences, half theoretical

They are also setting the tone for how to handle the scandal: they are putting a lot of emphasis on how positive and hopeful Louis is now, after achieving some sort of clarity during lockdown, that in the face of tragedies he just wants to focus on the positive and move on, and definitely wants NO pity - and that he seems to never get a break, when things are finally going his way, tragedies hit. Incredible set up for those couple of months between this FitF promo cycle ending early 2023 and before the tour starts - and fans will already have bought the tickets and have time to calm down. It will also allow for him to withdraw, regroup, and then carry on like he’s been saying: he will look gracious, strong and congruent to his words. No one will take it badly that he keeps on enjoying his life and success after the scandal breaks after a period of privacy. It is genius and I am so excited for this to unravel. They are really, really good.

“At first glance, the Frozen Zoo looks surprisingly unimposing. Six silver chest-high cryogenic tanks stand in a garage-size room at the Beckman Center in Escondido at the outskirts of the Safari Park, which is part of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. But when Houck opens one of the lids and the white nitrogen fog dissipates, one spots the awe-inspiring content: rows and rows of finger-size test tubes.
Together, they contain the living cells of more than 12,500 species. This is what distinguishes the Frozen Zoo from many other biodiversity collections: All the cells are alive. “Every tube contains about a million cells,” Houck explains, including cells of species such as the Saudi gazelle or the Po’ouli bird that are already extinct.
Houck has spent the last three and a half decades collecting, cataloging and multiplying animal cells in her lab next to the Frozen Zoo. She and her three colleagues add a few dozen more species to the collection every year.
“We are trying to conserve the cells of at least six female and six male specimens of each species,” Houck explains, “and a little more of species that reproduce slowly like the rhinos. This is tedious, complex work.” But it wouldn’t be wrong to view the Frozen Zoo as a contemporary version of Noah’s Ark: It has the potential to safeguard the survival of innumerable species.

The directors of the nonprofit San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance have been pioneering innovative conservation efforts for the last 106 years, and the Alliance has been instrumental in rewilding more than 44 endangered species, including the California condor...
The Frozen Zoo is not only used for research but also serves as an additional gene pool for severely endangered species. Half of the cryo tanks contain the world’s biggest collections of frozen, living reproductive cells (germplasm) of endangered and extinct species. While Houck is the curator of the entire Frozen Zoo, Barbara Durrant, the director of reproductive sciences, is the specialist for the eggs (oocytes) and sperm. In her lab, Durrant analyzes the testicles of mountain lions and the sperms of tigers that experts send her from Asia and Africa. “When anything dies in the Zoo or Safari Park, we get the ovaries or testes,” Durrant explains.
For instance, sperm that had been preserved in the Frozen Zoo was used to increase the genetic diversity of the cheetah. Using methods developed with domestic cats, thawed cheetah sperm fertilized an in vitro matured cheetah oocyte, which then developed into an embryo. “We need to use all methods,” Durrant says, “from natural reproduction to artificial insemination and cloning.”
In 2020, cultures from the Frozen Zoo restored much-needed genetic variation into the critically endangered black-footed ferret population in Wyoming, resulting in the first successful cloning of a native species in the US. That same year, the critically endangered Przewalski’s horse was successfully cloned in Texas with thawed cells from the Frozen Zoo. What is the chequered theory ?
A chequered flag is used in races to signal the finish line/final lap 🏁 (it can also be a double meaning with a chess board, meaning everything is planned and move after move is being executed, pawns sacrificed and ultimately Louis will check mate)
The chequered pattern/flag theory is about Louis signalling through his clothes that we’re close to the “finish line” and basically doing a “final lap” (heavy babygate push) before we go into the ending phase of babygate!
He hasn’t really consistently worn chequers before this year, and now during tour he’s incorporated it into his stage outfits, merch and off-stage outfits
He’s also followed several F1 and racing accounts on Twitter, like this one, and was spotted at F1 in Miami
During the last shows of his tour he really went ham with chequers, the closer to the end we get the more he’s wearing it
And then Harry joined
But Louis couldn’t let Harry upstage him so he wore this while meeting Bentley, the little Louie he’s using to push BBG and his Devoted Daddy Image hard
And now the grand finale: the LT2 album isn’t only named Faith in the Future, which is a babygate reference to when Louis threw the babydoll off the stage saying “it’s not real” while wearing a “the future is now” shirt (he wore it again when Harry put the balloon under his shirt only two days later), but he’s also wearing chequers on the cover
So yeah… they are telling us that the end is near
