#Doodles#Handplates#UT#Fellplates#Gaster#Flowey#Flowey is still my favourite UT character so honestly a lot of this was just self-indulgent doodles lol#But then - as always - it did turn into Thinking A Lot about [thing] lol#Starting with the classic tho! Flowey friendly-like coiled around whoever he's talking to ♪ It's too fun hehe#I love Flowey getting just a liiiiittle too close and personal to a discomfort degree ♫ He's just being friendly! It's a hug! A snuggle!#He's your best friend so you don't mind right? :) Why would Fellplates!Gaster mind ♪#He's always posed to stage right when I draw him haha - I'm still fond of the one Gravity Falls/Undertale crossover piece I made with him#Anyhow lol - yet more fluffy wings! It's just fun if they're expressive I want real feathers lol#Gaster's face completely neutral but his wings all puffed up and freaked out hehe#Flowey would definitely be able to tell if those are when he chose to wrap around!#If they were just the decorative version he'd fall right off from his own weight pulling them loose lol#Absolutely thinking of the one of Gaster screaming while being vine-wrapped by Flowey haha - he's totally innocent here! ♥#And then a little idea of how each of them react to humans - UkaGaster talks a lot about his general positive feelings for humans#And Fell!Flowey is.....well I have my own thoughts about how he might react to humans now that he's been...himself for a while#There have been Fallen Humans in the time between being locked in the Underground and [now] even in Underfell hasn't there?#I guess none of them would've made it as far as meeting up with Gaster - bit of a dark thought heh - but Flowey would know#Is it selfish? To wish for humans or to keep them a secret from the rest of the Underground? What might happen?#It's interesting to think about! If there were humans then surely Gaster must be aware of the Souls?#But even if not - even if this could be before all that - Flowey would still know about human Determination to an extent - being what he is#It wouldn't turn out well for anyone :) That's what makes it interesting ♪

some of you should not speak on dennis until you've rewatched sunny in full instead of just the macden-centric eps.
#literally not even a matter of like. different interpretations it's just some of y'all forget literal canon events that disprove shit#i get schooled by people abt den too i have my weaknesses w writing him#but like oh my god#some of y'all would be better off if you looked at him outside of a macden context#he's not evil incarnate#he's fucked up and he does awful shit#but that is a little boy wearing an adult face#to just make him evil for no reason completely removes any interesting bits of him.#one of the keys to sunny's writing is that#rcg always makes sure that motivation is understandable *in that character's eyes*#dennis has a very specific purpose for everything he does#he isn't just cruel for no fucking reason#he's 'brutally honest' because he thinks its his duty to break the news#he's absolutely entitled and arrogant and misogynistic#but he doesn't set out to be Mean just for the sake of it#den thinks he is doing good. he thinks he's in the right. its not him it's everyone else.#he's doing you a favour by saying you're ugly (and propping up his own decimated self esteem)#that being said he's also not innocent pookie either#but i would say its like. in a lot of ways he IS oblivious to the reality of what hes saying/doing#part of that is his privilege as a white man who grew up being supported by and continues to be supported by his parent's wealth#but the gang enables the shit he does just as frank financially enables him#they are so insular it's like impossible to break out of the gang and interact with normal people#because if they don't get it then dennis is going straight back to the gang to feel validated and to hell w everyone else#on some level he knows shit is unacceptable but he's never learned Why and never will because theres no reason to#like when mac is completely fucking shocked by den talking abt the implication dennis CANNOT let that go unchecked#he needs mac to understand him because he's realizing that it's *actually* fucked up. bc even mac thinks so.#and when dee calls what happened with klinsky Rape everything IMMEDIATELY crumbles for him#dennis is introspective but he will justify shit and compartmentalize until his friends challenge it#he looks to media; tv and movies where the protagonist gets away with shit because its schlock fiction#and dennis DOES see himself as a protagonist. it's all justifiable bc he's the good guy.

You know how poison is one of the easiest way to get to royalty and they had testers for that specific threat?
Imagine if Kim one day gets roofied by some low level human traffickers who don't know the youngest Theerapanyakul brother by sight , while Kim was in his Wik-out-and-about socialising zone , completely unrelated to his usual mafia shenanigans?
Like he takes one sip and knows he fucked up , tries to stumble over to his high security room but only makes it till the door before they nab him.
But Porchay shows up , all tall (taller than Kim) and a bit more massive then Kim remembered him to be , stares down the low lives while flashing his golden Theerapanyakul crest and carries Kim by his arm over Chay's shoulders to the lift ?
What if Chay gives up dragging Kim by his dead feet and just straight up bridal carries him to Chay's "minor family heir's" fully furnished suite ??
And what if Kim wakes up next morning under the duvet , with his leather jacket removed and his belt buckle loosened , then sees Chay passed out softly snoring on the squishy sofa??

The Untamed (Chen Qing Ling) - Episode 23
Not Wangxian swooping in like the heroes they are
Other than them being literal heroes, what i love most about this scene:
Wangxian just had another disagreement / fight about wwx’s practice of demonic cultivation but the moment people are in danger they are at once partners in crime and life again. Of course we expect wwx to be absolutely enraged by what’s happening but look at Lan Wangji’s face, Mr. Hanguang Jun. Its the shared purpose, ideals and sense of justice.

2ha book 1 (7S) - Ending
I have just finished the first book of the Seven Seas translation of 2ha and I swear to fucking god, if Mo Ran keeps up with his bullshit crush on Shi Mei, I will chew someone's face off.
IT IS NOT SHI MEI !!! SHI MEI IS OVER THERE STUCK IN DREAMS IN SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY !!!! God fucking DAMMIT Mo Ran !!! I know you are suffering heavy blood loss right now but I am not above absolutely obliterating you. It is VERY obvious that Shi Mei would never do anything like what Chu Wanning in his body is doing.
#2ha#mo ran#shi mei#ranwan#who the fuck even IS shi mei ??#like where did he come from ??#why is he so fucking shady for no reason ?#i sooooo don't trust the nice guy act something is fishy about him#'oh no shizun don't beat up those people' and then just fucking diving straight for the hit#aren't you supposed to be a cultivator ?? I know you're weak as fuck but you should be able to protect your face !!#oh wait i know why i dislike him#it's that trope of the too pure and innocent fl that's saving the world through love and innocence and moe#god i hate that#because they're soooooo morally superior to everyone else#but also so fucking weak and helpless that they need everyone else to do everything for them#seriously what does mo ran see in him ?#outside of how pretty he is#is he REALLY that good of a cook ?#are we sure shi mei didn't put anything in those wontons mo ran absolutely adore ??#like really sure ?#someone should do a drug test on that food or something#whatever#onto the next book and I swear that if mo ran doesn't realize that hey actually he doesn't hate his teacher i will riot#yes yes you did awful things to him in your past lives and ackowledging that you don't hate him would probably make you sick and hate#yourself#but also you kinda deserve it because i am preeeeetty sure that those intercourses in the last life were NOT safe sane OR consensual#no matter how in love chu wanning probably was#i doubt he was enthusiastic about anything you did to him is all i'm saying#and you should definitely feel ashamed and sick of yourself no matter how much i personally like it#well that was a rant

New Gonzo Plot Guess time: the reason Ganondorf got buried underground was because he was stuck playing a variation of Dumuzid having to spend 6 months in the Underworld in Inanna’s stead.
We know Zonai tech is powered by some kind of ghost juice, and the Sheikah tech may have had something similar going on, given that the Divine Beasts need pilots with powerful souls in order to function. But surely there weren’t enough dead people to power all the machines in the world, and it’s not like you can expect people to be dedicated pilots of, say, the local electricity grid 24/7/365, right?
So my guess is, in order to power all this wondrous technology, a particularly powerful soul had to be sacrificed. Not killed, necessarily, but converted into a dedicated battery in a facility somewhere underground that powered all tech on the surface and in the sky.
My other guess is, originally the ancient Zelda was chosen to be the sacrificial maiden, because her super special Goddess blood gave her latent magical powers. However, her dad was aghast at having to sacrifice his only child, and the people were heartbroken at the idea of having to sacrifice their precious, beautiful princess (not enough to abandon the system of luxury that required regular human sacrifice entirely, of course).
But then, a miracle happened. Another child was found who possessed just as powerful of a soul, if not even moreso. The type of magical gift that could keep the islands floating for a millennium without requiring another sacrifice. He was kidnapped by the powerful kingdom, raised to accept his place as the sacrifice who would stand in Her Grace’s stead, and then, when the time came, he was taken underground and harvested.
Maybe the process itself was agony no human could possibly bear. Maybe shortly before he was sent to be sacrificed, he finally made a friend, found some reason to live beyond serving the Holy Child destined to rule Hyrule, and began to have second thoughts about this whole “dying to save someone More Important, Precious, Beautiful, Pure, and Deserving of Protection Than Him” thing. Whatever happened before then wasn’t remembered. What mattered to those people who sent him down there was what came after.
Like Dumuzid and Persephone, he eventually returned. Unlike those two, of course, the “spring” he brought with him wasn’t the cherished promise of new life after a long, gloomy winter. It was the thawing and unearthing of Hyrule’s sins, the unearthing of his own agony they tried to hide to preserve their sunny stories of a utopian kingdom, the arrival of their karmic punishment, the sort of April that T.S. Elliot would call “the cruelest month.”
And, of course, the people who put him down there were so eager to preserve their good standing that they simply “forgot” to tell their children what had happened, why Hyrule fell from grace, their role in their own suffering. The children knew only of the Perfect, Precious Princess menaced by the Evil, Brutish, Purely Destructive Calamity who just randomly popped out of the ground to attack her for no reason other than being mean and bad.
Is it any wonder why, when confronted with Hyrule’s optimism that first time he emerged, when they were prepared like they knew he was coming, Ganon was so “incensed?” And is it any wonder that his ire would be laser-focused on whichever poor girl the Princess of Old dressed up in her pure white ceremonial gown and offered up in her own stead, this endless parade of descendants with her face who still profited from his eternal imprisonment despite having no idea who he was or what the mechanism keeping him trapping down there even did?

finally finished WOLF HALL and have been walking around in a post-reading rapture; was excited to dive into the tag to find my favorite quotes and it's all photo sets of period costuming (fine) and absolutely unhinged takes on the book (fine but mind boggling lol)
#listen i was a definitely a huge anne boleyn stan as a kid#and you could argue the women in wolf hall don't always get as much complexity as mantel grants cromwell#but idk i think a lot of them DO#it's just that they aren't cast as heroines and their virtues rub up right alongside their vices#they aren't the CW or HBO versions of themselves#they are petty and scheming and bitter#but also brave and pious and loving and vibrant#they are doing and saying what they have to to keep power in a world that punishes the powerless swiftly and without mercy#and so is cromwell!#yes you can tell mantel loves him as a character but she doesn't make him a flawless or uncomplocated protagonist either#he is every bit as blood-drenched and scheming bc he knows the alternative: a boot to the head and his face in the dirt#he and henry are constantly trying to outrun their childhoods; to put down the ghosts that still haunt them#sometimes they suceed#usually they end up with more bodies#more ghosts#another tally against them when it's their turn on the gallows or at the pyre or in their sick bed#praying for absolution#i'm not sure anyone in mantel's world comes out looking innocent or heroic in a simple sense#maybe hero in the sense of an epic#the rise the fall the reversal of fortune#the end where you always realize no matter how high you climb#you can't outrun your past#but like thomas realizes#it's not the dead who are after us#it's us who won't leave the dead be#we resurrect them we put words in their mouths we remake them#and every retelling of history will have different heroes and different villains#mantel is zeroing in on one entry point into the story#the nature of that means that some other interpretations will be excluded
