Okay so, I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan, like been playing ever since I was 7. So five years ago you could imagine my surprise and joy when the teaser trailer for Elder Scrolls VI came out.

But now, almost half a decade later. There is practically nothing but a potential, not even official, estimate of when it might be stated to be released.

And that's just depressing because given the time line of the Elder Scrolls series you would think they would be just a little bit faster. But no.

Instead they keep re-releasing Skyrim and adding onto ESO. Plus even if we do get a date there's a good chance it'll be a dud of a game or be canceled before the end of the decade.

I mean, with all the Starfield delays and Redfalls shity frame rate there's a good chance the new Elder Scrolls game will be sub par compared to its previous games.

I mean just look at the timeline:

1994, Elder Scrolls: Arena

1996, Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

Year later, Elder Scrolls Legend: Battle Spire

Another year later, Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard

2002, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

2003, Elder Scrolls Travels: Stormhold, Shadowkey, and Dawnstar

Three years later, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

2011 Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

2014 Elder Scrolls Online

Come on man. It's been 12 years since a console game, 9 years since the last proper installment. Does Bethesda seriously expect us to wait around any longer? They might as well just scrap the game at this rate.

I love this series and I love the studio along with all its creations and accomplishments. But I, and many others cannot wait any longer. I don't even think they're done with pre-production

The only thing we actually have is where it's set and when we might get a release date or updates. Which is in 2026. Three years from now.

I'm disappointed and honestly ashamed that we have had to wait this long for news on an Elder Scrolls game. A series known for its fast release and genuinely having great games.

If updates don't come by 2026, it would be safe to assume that the franchise is done for.
