Hey, so I'm moving quickly with the plot for my fic, What's Written in the Stars (The Greatest Showman AU of FNAF Security Breach) and I'm kind of in need of new characters to progress in the next chapters. I could have opted for making characters of my own but I think at this point you guys should have an inkling that this is something I prefer doing.
If not then, simply put, I like building communities and including as many people as I can with my projects because I'm sure each of you have your own creative ideas that my stories would benefit from too!

What kind of characters am I looking for?
I'm looking for characters that are either robots or downright humans! I know many of you guys have lovely cryptid, monster OCs but those lovely creatures aren't canon to the lore of the story so this is the boundary I need to set for the character/s you guys would like to share! Also they have to either have a specific "ghastly trait" that society would have shunned upon back in the 1800s or up until now (like being a dwarf, an albino, hairy, a POC etc.) and/or be able to do certain circus acts (like trapeze, tightrope walking, etc.)
How many characters am I looking for?
I don't have a set number just yet but probably around 5 because I love that number lol.
How to join?
Kindly post your character sheet/s on your blog, mention (@) my main blog (this one!) and include the hashtag "WWITS OC-Laurzzz" for me to be able to sift through them easily!
Who can join?
Artists, writers, anyone, as long as you can clearly describe your character's design and backstory, and you have a decent amount of knowledge in the lore of WWITS so far!
What should be included when posting/making the character sheet/s?
For artists: Your character standing and showcasing their designs, additional appendages, accessories, pre-show and during show attires. You can opt to describing one attire while the other is drawn if it's too much of an effort! Then, somewhere at the side or bottom of the character designs must include their backstories/important lore details, characteristics, quirks, etc.
For writers: Same with the artists, except you'll be writing down the details of your lovely character's designs of course! Be sure to keep it as detailed as possible for me to write them out as accurately as I can too! And just like with the artists, you must include their backstories/important lore details, characteristics, quirks, etc.
Is there a specific genre/theme in design?
Yes, essentially. Try to keep the design as similar to the fashion of 1860s as you can with their clothes. Robots can be made of metal or wood, up to you! But nothing too fantasy-based, like having superpowers or something lol.
Can you submit more than one characters?
Yes! Only if you'd like. I can't guarantee being able to use all character submissions though so please keep that in mind. I'm only one person doing all this and I can only write down so many characters AKDHSKSJ I appreciate them all nonetheless!
Until when can we submit our characters?
In around two weeks, I will close this event thing soooo April 11, 2023 probably at 11:59 pm (PST). I'll make an announcement about it when it closes!
Anything else you guys should know?
This is all for fun! I don't want you guys to feel pressured in joining as I know that drawing and writing takes a lot of time and effort. I genuinely just wanted you guys to be a part of this but you don't have to if you don't want to! I'm not doing this to get free fanart of whatever.
Also, by giving me the details and backstory of your WWITS OC, you'd be giving me permission and consent to fill in any gaps or change some parts to keep the characters accurately tied with the lore of the whole fic and the other main characters.

I have a question about reblogging fics that I would love your opinion on as a writer… I admittedly rarely reblog fics, artwork or photos from the TGM fandom because it’s a side interest for me, and really doesn’t match the content on my blog. I hear you and many other fandom creators on this site talk about the importance of reblogging original content and I want to help by changing my behaviour. I’ve thought about creating a new blog to specifically support the TGM creators I love by reblogging their content, but worry that that isn’t a very helpful solution because the reblogs would probably go to a “dead end” and not be further shared past my blog. Does that seem like a reasonable solution to you, or is there a more helpful way I can take action? Thanks in advance for your guidance - I love your Mickey pieces and would hate to see you stop sharing your writing due to a perceived lack of interest!!
Hi, my darling! Thank you for this question, and for taking the time to write about this! I hope you didn't think I was ignoring you -- I've been thinking about how I want to answer and what I could suggest. I am by no means the premiere authority on this sort of thing, so I welcome my other writer friends to chime in. But here I go --
Firstly, thank you so much for your love of my content and wanting to help promote it/other writer's works. I also appreciate you being willing to step out of your comfort zone in order to benefit writers and creators on Tumblr. That's so kind and so important.
To some extent, I understand being known for certain content on your blog, and not wanting to disrupt your own content for your followers. I know some blogs are really fandom and aesthetically oriented. So I get that.
That said, one big point of reblogging is getting the material in front of new eyes, so if your OG blog has the numbers to help writers get seen, I can't express enough what that would mean to me, and to other writers to be shared to that forum.
It's no secret that one frustration I have with my own writing is that it never seems to "break through." I am fortunate to receive the positive feedback that I do, and one of the things I regularly hear is "this is so well-written!" And "why doesn't this have more notes?" I wish I knew -- the answer is that it could, if things didn't sit in the likes tab. And it sort of breaks my heart to read what is intended as a compliment that serves to remind me that my content is only reaching the eyes of whomever happens to be browsing the tag that day and few others.
That said, to your suggestion about creating a side blog/library blog and the concern that it would be a "dead end," you're right in that reblogging content into a dead blog or one that doesn't have many followers does not remediate the issue. So, my counter-question to you is -- are you willing to disrupt the flow/aesthetic of your main to either share fics, or to promote your side blog and encourage your followers to check it out/follow the writers you share to there? The latter may be more effort than you're willing to put in to the endeavor (and I certainly would never ask or expect anyone to bend over backward). And the former may not be what you're willing to do for the sake of what you're already sharing to your blog.
So -- if there's an answer, I'm not sure I have a clear one. I appreciate your willingness to share. And if you one day do, I know it would make that writer's day! It would certainly make mine.
And I'm not trying to guilt anything, but I can't tell you the number of times I've felt that looming cloud of discouragement because I look at the metrics and think, "well, that flopped." Because if people are silently reading and not saying anything, it may not be the case that my fics are flopping in that sense, but if that's true, I have no way of knowing. For me, an ask (I keep anon on for a reason), a comment reblog, tags, a comment, something that lets me know what someone enjoyed about my story?? Makes my entire day! I put so much thought into exactly how I want a sentence to sound. What I want the flow of a story to be. The vibe I want to convey. It's all intentional. And it can be heartbreaking when you feel like it resonated with no one.

2023 Miraculous Ladybug Big Bang - F.A.Q.
What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is a fandom-wide event, where writers write a long fic (more than 10k words) for which artists make fanart during the 6 months long creation period.
How does it work?
Writers arrive with a fic idea at the start of the event. Once they have begun writing, artists select fics to illustrate in an anonymous process, then mods match writer-artist teams. Betas can apply for a specific story to help with what the writer requests: bouncing plot ideas, helping with the flow of the story, correcting spelling and grammar mistakes.
When can I apply?
Writer applications are open until the 24th of June. Beta and artist applications are open until the 31st of August.
Where can I apply?
Application links will be posted on the 1st of May.
What do I need to participate?
You’ll need an email address, a Discord user and if you’re applying as a writer, an AO3 account.
What is expected of me if I get accepted to the Big Bang as a writer?
Create a complete, previously unpublished fic for the event that is independent from your previous works (no sequels or prequels are allowed) and longer than 10.000 words.
Work closely and communicate regularly with your collaborator partners.
Keep the setting and plot of your fic a secret, don’t talk about it publicly outside the event’s server.
What is expected of me if I get accepted to the Big Bang as an artist?
Create at least two pieces of complete, previously unpublished artworks to accompany the fic of your choice for the event (recommended canvas size minimum 2500*2500 pixels).
Work closely and communicate regularly with your collaborator partner(s).
Keep the details of your illustration a secret, don’t talk about it publicly outside the event’s server.
What is expected of me if I get accepted to the Big Bang as a beta reader?
Work closely and communicate regularly with your collaborator partner(s). Provide technical spelling and grammar corrections, along with content and plot feedback to the writers if they ask for that. The extent to which writers decide to incorporate this feedback is up to their own consideration.
Keep the setting and plot of the fic a secret, don’t talk about it publicly outside the event’s server.
Do I need to get my fic for the event beta read?
We encourage the fics to be beta-read, however, this year it isn’t required. Still, we’ll have betas on the server who can be called upon if you don’t have a beta, and you can also invite your personal betas (up to 3 people) to the server if you’d like.
How will the matching of artists and writers happen?
After writers submit their Project Proposal on August 28, all summaries, tags, and snippets will be shared anonymously with artists. From September 1 - 7, artists will fill out a survey listing their top 5 fics they wish to illustrate. Mods will announce writer-artist pairs on September 15.
If I apply and get accepted as a writer, is getting art for my fic guaranteed?
Artists have the right to decline any work they do not wish to illustrate, so while mods will do their best to match each fic, writers are not guaranteed an artist partner. However, all writers can still produce a long fic to be proud of with the support of the Big Bang discord community. Other benefits of being in the Big Bang are getting your fic added to the AO3 collection and reblogged by the Tumblr blog.
Can I apply for multiple roles?
We want everyone to have the best chance at completing their work within their writer-artist team. For that reason, you may only be accepted as either a writer or an artist, so if you apply for both be aware that it is up to the mods’ discretion which role you will get. However, writers and artists can also be betas.
What happens if I need to drop out of the event?
If you need to drop out please contact a moderator ASAP so they can inform you of the procedure! If you drop out before the pairing happens nothing will happen. However, if you drop out after this you might not be able to participate in next year’s event.
What happens if my partner drops out during the event?
If you’re an artist or a beta, you can choose to work with another writer. If you’re a writer, the mods will make every effort to find an artist to fill in for you (this person is called a pinch hitter).
Can writers collaborate on fics?
Yes, writers may collaborate on a fic. In this case please indicate so in both of your sign-up forms.
What kind of content is allowed?
Your work can be about any ships (or no ships). Salt content (content with a heavy focus on character bashing or other extreme critique) is allowed, though keep in mind that writers must explain any potentially salty content in their Zeroth Check-In and this may affect whether artists and betas choose to work with you. Crossovers are not allowed.
Are NSFW fics allowed for the event?
Yes, you may create NSFW content for the event, be that Mature or Explicit fic. You’ll have to indicate this rating when filling out the Zeroth check-in, though, so we can make sure betas and artists who don’t wish to engage with this content don’t stumble upon them when browsing the summaries. You’ll also be able to discuss any adult parts of your creation on the designated channel.
Who can work on an NSFW fic?
You may only apply to write, beta, or make art for an NSFW fic if you’re over 18. We’ll trust your word on this, but if we later learn that you lied about your age we’ll take away the project.
Can I share part of my fic/art with anyone during the creation period?
We ask you to keep your idea and progress as private as possible except for the Big Bang’s Discord server. This is to preserve the anonymity of the writers when artists choose fics to contribute to, and to keep the suspense and excitement in the general fandom about the pieces.
I already shared some details of my fic before I knew about the Bang. What now?
Please contact the mods! We'll make an evaluation based on your specific circumstances.
In general, we aren't penalizing people for brainstorming an idea publicly on Tumblr or Discord; and we definitely don't mind if you shared your idea or bits of your work with a handful of friends privately. Our aim is to preserve the authors’ anonymity as much as possible, and to build excitement for the posting period. If you have shared anything publicly, we ask that you hide the post and stop discussing it immediately in any public spaces.

You’re weird. I have literally never interacted with a single person on this app. After being on here now for about 10 years, never have I come across such demanding and entitled people but in these anime and K-POP fandoms. Everyone’s account is THEIR blog! Who are you to tell people how to use their blog and what for in order for them to enjoy your content?? It is not your right to try and force people out of their comfort zones for your benefit. Blocking silent readers because it bothers you literally makes no sense when they are “fans” too. All I can imagine is you acting like a tyrant child *pouting* crosses arms and stomps foot, “Hmmph! Their not interacting with and boosting my blog the way I want them to!” LOL the way it actually makes me laugh… Likes aren’t good enough for you??? If someone likes the fic that means THEY LIKE IT dummy. Silent readers are silent for a reason I don’t want anyone’s attention on me what so over. So, the least I can do to show my appreciation is through a like and if I REALLY like you I’ll follow your blog. A lot of people feel the same way everywhere on the internet not just Tumblr. It just seems to me you’re pissed because you want more attention because “I feel I work so hard on these fics!” You feel like you deserve more attention, but you won’t be getting it from us. Also, it shouldn’t matter that other people like your writings. Do you like it? Is it good enough to you? Good. Then that is all that matters. People have gotten way to needy for validation the only person’s approval you need is your own. YEAH YEAH YEAH. pretty much all my recent major ships have had age gap (ardynoct, askefinn, sladin, etc). i've figured out recently that i find it kind of boring when the two characters are on the same level, and age gap is an easy way to effect that power imbalance.
Codependency: +10
yep yes and always. love when two people are each other's world. love when they would do anything for each other and that's a bad thing. love when they destroy themselves for each other.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +7
see above lol. this one gets a lower score because jealousy can get a little annoying. i actually like it when characters AREN'T jealous... like, A trying to make B jealous and B doesn't care, because they know A will come crawling back to them sooner or later.... nice... if the jealousy is warranted (like an above situation w flirting/cheating/etc) then that crosses the line into love triangle which i'm not big on, and if it isn't warranted it gets annoying. i like obsession and possessiveness a lot but jealousy doesn't necessarily have to be part of that.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): 0
eh, it's okay. i prefer it when two characters in a ship are shockingly similar, even if they have completely different values/motives/goals, whatever. opposites can be cute but it's not really my thing.

i started writing a paragraph about how i prefer enemies to remain fucked up and awful even if they get into a relationship, but then i remembered all the crying i've done imagining soft sweet Wales endgame askefinn and i was like yeah, let's not lie today LOL. both are good.

where's the ROMANCE? where's the DRAMA? where's the OBSESSION? it's not like i hate it but i typically want a more substantial emotional attraction y'know. also, a lot of the fic i've read recently does... not really involve the characters in question being friendly lmaooo.
Sex to feelings: 0
this is a difficult one to rate because it can be very very different depending on the existing dynamic. are we talking about two strangers who keep hooking up and develop feelings? two enemies who feel nothing but hate for each other, but their relationship starts to change once they have sex? i guess this trope is more the former, which isn't something i would actively look for but isn't something i dislike either, so it gets an even 0.
Fake dating/relationship: +6
god i used to read this trope so so often. i'm not huge on established relationship because i want to see the relationship grow (rereading this i realize it makes me look like a tool because i've written a bunch of established relationship recently but like... I KNOW how they got there ok. my city now), but i also love cutesy romantic shit, so fake dating is right up my alley (along with arranged marriage and soulmates for the same reason). bonus if the faking is very uncomfortable for one or both characters. put those blorbos in a psychologically stressful situation where they have to pretend to be happy 👌
Friends to lovers: +3
yeah it's fine. see above, i like my ships terrible and fucky. this trope doesn't usually facilitate that. if it's awful friends to awful lovers i'm all over it.
Found Family: -9
not gonna lie, i wasn't big on found family in the first place and kingdom hearts fandom utterly destroyed whatever little interest i had in it. while i like platonic relationships in original fiction, for fic i rarely if ever read gen fic. it's shipping or bust for me. if they aren't doing the nasty (physically or emotionally) i'm not interested.
Hurt/Comfort: +8
ohhhhh yeaaaahhhhh babyyyyyyyy i'm all about that whump. love it when a blorbo is harmed and another blorbo has to help them. i can go for hurt/no comfort too sometimes but only if i'm in the mood for it.
Love Triangle: -6
yeaaaah no. this is another area where i like them in original fiction but am not at all into it in fic. i like my ships with two characters (who preferably have no interest in anyone else).
Poly, open relationships: -5
i do have some multi character ships (pyra/mythra/rex/nia is the one that immediately comes to mind, though i don't typically read xenoblade fic) but i'm not usually a fan, for the same reason i mentioned for love triangles. a lot of times i'm only here for one or two characters in the relationship so anyone extra feels unnecessary and distracting.
Mistaken/hidden identity: +5
i probably would've given this a lower score if i wasn't in my sladin revival era. superhero secret identities are perfect for conflict.
Monsterfucking: +8
gave this an 8 because when it leans too far into furry/bestiality territory that's when i'm out. generally love monsters of all kinds though, and all the hentai-esque tropes that come with it.
Pregnancy: -8
hate kid fics. god do i hate kid fics. this only gets a -8 and not -10 because unwanted pregnancy fics that do not end with a kid being born can be pretty angsty, which is nice.
Second Chance: +6
second chance for... what? as in a redemption arc? sure i'm down for that. also down for a character getting a second chance even though they have not earned it, because another character refuses to give up on them/let go. second chance time travel where a character gets to go back and redo something is also top tier.
Slowburn: +1
this one was very hard to rate. i've read some slowburns that i absolutely loved. i'm currently writing a slowburn where it's 20k in and the mfers haven't even held hands. but i also get bored easily and if it's TOO slow it begins to feel like the fic is dragging its feet. to keep me interested i usually like if there's another element going on, like fake dating, enemies to lovers, heavy whump, etc.
Soulmates: +9
YES. YES YES YES. LOVE THAT. again, it's a way to have both relationship development AND immediate sex/romance. especially good when the soulmates are enemies or otherwise not suited to each other in any way whatsoever and this is surely the work of a god with a very shitty sense of humor. i have written and read many soulmates fics and i intend on writing and reading many more.

I looked into some of their posts because I wanted to see the full info on both sides. I wanted to reach out to say they are really just something else.
First, please know they are searching deep into your blog for your selfies and info that they can find, while who find one DID color over your face .... it's uncomfortable the territory they are on the fencing of. Stay safe.
Second, I had a good cry as a csa and in general survivor too, because this is appalling, it's so freaking horrifying how YOU could be considered the same realm... they reblogged a PSA about someone else in ST fandom who writes genuine CSA like 6 year old x 20 year old Eddie, 12 year old x grown ass Steve and Billy, so on and not even all ST, but all is smut. A commenter was saying that they were going to write smut about a 12 month old. I wish I was joking or being dramatic. The someone claims they are writing it for their own trauma, but it really does not read from the screenshots of fic as such (vs how your posts seem missing context) I feel sick from seeing THAT callout post contents, THAT chilled me.
I don't fucking know how you could be considered of the same cut like that kind of person ??? All over older Erica x Dustin ??? Like WHY deliberately take your asks and responses out of context, why are you evil for thinking about the characters grown, nothing to do with the actors? Yet they write self insert smut about teenaged Billy, Steve, so on. Include gifs of showering Billy. They seem hellbent on focusing on everything else, or maybe a personal projecting since they can't separate actor from character almost. Hell, even the camp counsellor Eddie x younger camper Chrissy fic they were blasting you for reading is different than freaking that someone's fics.
This entire thing reads like a personal vendetta finding any morsel and making into some abomination. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this bullshit. Even my Erica fics will be particularly disappointing to those who are looking for ThoughtCrime—they are probably the tamest thing I’ve ever written. I will try to implement measures in case someone doxxes me or something.
I’m so sorry for you. I’m so sorry that you’re in this shitty club with me. I would not wish the flashbacks, the dehumanization, the guilt, the shame, the triggers, or the nightmares on anyone. The accusations they make about me are genuinely nauseating.
I’m not familiar with the other writer’s callout post you mentioned, but even if they are writing disturbing dead doves—we don’t know them. We don’t know why they wrote it, I don’t know their situation, I don’t know their reasoning, hell, it might all be out of spite. But I don’t want to “ugh look at this OTHER writer writing this gross stuff, YOU could NEVER be considered one of THEM”, you know?
I am not going to condemn a dead dove writer just because that is something I would never read. It’s words on a page. No one is harmed. As viscerally chilling and disturbing those plots are, they exist in the author’s brain. I don’t know WHY they exist in the author’s brain, if they’re processing their own shit or genuinely trying to titillate. I don’t really want to know either way. Either way is triggering to me. Either way, that is content that would make me throw up and I would avoid.
So I do the fucking ADULT thing and block those fics. Or ignore them. Ignoring them is a great tactic. Because I don’t know the author’s story and I would never try and assume that I do. I protect my own peace.
Another example. I have a weird trigger. It’s a trigger that is innocuous and harmless to most people. Some people really love the trigger. But I cannot abide it. I start having flashbacks. Anxiety attacks. Even just by SEEING this piece of media. And I feel a ton of shame for it because I blame myself, when actually it was my abuser’s fault. Not me. Not you. Never the victim. Ever.
But I do not expect tumblr to CATER to my trigger. I have this piece of media blocked on every social media site. I intentionally avoid it. My brother has even refused to accompany his friends on a Disneyworld trip because they were cosplaying as the Trigger and he didn’t want to trigger me. My community knows of it and they try very hard to use spoiler tags or ask others to spoiler it so I don’t interact with it. If I come on it accidentally (happened a lot during Philly, many breathing exercises were done and I had to step out a few times from the Artist’s Alley)
This is all MY responsibility. Not Tumblr’s. I cannot demand that every fic writer who writes about the Piece of Media that is a Trigger take it down for my own comfort, just because I am rightly and justly disturbed by it.
Oh, it is DEFINITELY a personal vendetta. Comes with the territory of any outspoken woman in fandom.
Your guys’ support means everything to me. And to all writers.
I’m sorry if this came off preachy or lecturing, I didn’t mean it that way. I just really, REALLY do not want people taking the mentality of “Phoenix isn’t writing this shit, but OTHER writers are, so let’s go harass them!” No.

🕯️how do you think engaging with each other through tumblr, twitter, comments, kudos, creates healthy fandom experiences? How do you deal with that if you're not a social person/experience social anxiety?
Ahhh. Listen. It is so hard. I got way more asks today than I expected from this list, and if I were a stranger looking at my blog, I'd think like, wow, they're really popular, they already have so many fandom friends and admirers, they are cool and know how to talk to people, and like all of that is false. I'm just some guy.
When I first joined fandom, I got so intimidated so easily by the relationships other people seemed to already have, and I still do sometimes! It's a little bit different now, because I've made some friends, but I still get those feelings of like, idk why this person would even want to talk to me, they probably already have all the friends they need, I'll probably be really weird and embarrass myself, etc etc.
Unfortunately on the internet, like in real life, the only way to connect with people is to put yourself out there. By writing fic, I think it's an easy access point for others to engage, because they know exactly what the author is thinking about today (patrochilles in my case or whatever), but it's still intimidating as hell. And sometimes two people, through no faults of their own, simply do not click.
On the other hand, it can be super fun! Answering these asks today was fun! Thank you! And if you poke an author, often fic will fall out! If you give them insane AU ideas, sometimes they write it! Great things can happen when you approach people. Or nothing. Sometimes nothing happens.
The key to staying healthy in fandom, I think, is not to think of your fandom friends in transactional ways, aka "I reblogged their fic so they HAVE to reblog mine or they're a bad person" or other thoughts along this line. Would it be nice? Sure. But once you start keeping score, your friendship is already taking damage. There are a million reasons why people do or don't do things, and if they are a friend, don't you want to give them the benefit of the doubt?
This also applies also for comparing yourself to your fandom friends. Once you start comparing stats or whatever, you've already muddied that friendship. It's not a competition. Envy happens and it's normal, but it's very easy for those feelings to warp into something like "I can't believe people like THAT fic when blah blah blah." Not only are those feelings damaging to your friendship, they also will never make you feel better about yourself. It's better to let envy pass through you to the best of your ability and figure out how to be happy for other people (or just not care).
That's my two cents.

If I see one more person post picture sets for their stories that were created by AI and call it “artwork” I’m going to scream. They’re now making these stolen images their pfp’s and headers and pretty much dedicating their blogs to AI theft. And anyone supporting these and reblogging how beautiful and wonderful these images are are just as wrong as the ones posting them.
I got these along with a few others yesterday. I wasn’t going to answer them on my birthday but I’ll answer them today. I don’t know if these are the same people or different but I’m going to answer them all in one swoop.
I’m going to start with the second ask so there is hopefully less confusion in my other answers.
Ask 2: I hate this argument! I’m assuming this has to do with another few asks I saw recently that say we use AI in our everyday life unless you are off grid or never online.
It seems to me that your argument is to say if we use AI technology in a way that doesn’t harm anyone, we should also use AI technology in a way that harms people? What a position to take!
When I talk about AI around here and when I talk about AI theft, I am specifically talking about the use of AI technologies to generate content that mimics what an actual human person would create. In fandom I would be referring to art and fics.
I am not talking about the real and beneficial ways AI can help us in our lives, I’m talking about the way AI generated content is stealing the works and livelihoods of people!
My use of social media ‘suggested for you content’ or a search engine is not taking a job from someone nor is it stealing someone’s hard work and allowing others to call it their own.
AI can and does have real benefits to us, I’m not denying that. My issue with AI is when it is used as a means of stealing from and hurting real people.
Ask 1: So yes, this also makes me want to scream.
I love supporting creators and really really want to but it’s hard for me to know where to draw the line. Is my support of a writer that uses an AI generated pfp or fic header somehow me supporting AI theft? I don’t support it but I worry it gives the appearance of support. I went back and forth on this for a long time.
I will say that I try to not reblog from anyone that uses AI generated content anywhere on their tumblr. I also block anyone that publicly supports the use of AI theft.
We can’t control what others do so there is no stopping this unless those same people realize how truly damaging this is to actual writers and artists.
Ask 3: Yes, I’m aware of the use of AI generated images in the promotion of Storyloom. The use of any AI generated content beyond that, I can’t speak to because I have never once signed up for Storyloom. I refuse to hand over any of my ideas and writing to a company that seeks to exploit fanfic writers for their own financial gain

Than you can stop writing completely if you want to post only blurbs in the future, like these blurbs will never be the same as your other works. I mean did you think about that people are busy with their own life too? Maybe they want to read longer fics but they can’t because of shitty things in life? They don't have time anymore.

i am aware that people have their own lives & that there’s things that prevent them from reading fanfiction, just as there are things that prevent me from reading fanfiction. it’s none of my business what goes on in your personal lives. but that’s not what i’m talking about. i’m talking about the people who DO read my work and neglect to even leave a comment or reblog. the people who request work from me only to slap a like on there and move on when i post it. it’s demotivating. it’s tiring.
and you’re right, some people don’t have time anymore to read longer fics, i personally prefer reading shorter ones. therefore i’m literally creating a solution here and yet you still have a fucking problem. don’t have time to read longer fics? great, i’ll write short ones. ‘well if you’re gonna write short ones then just stop writing’ — what the fuck do you want from me?
did you think that maybe i have my own life too? did you think that there are things going on that i need to give my attention to aside from busting out fics for people who don’t even care to reblog them? why on earth would i spend more time & effort into writing longer fics, which takes away time from my other tasks & hobbies, for people who think this site runs like instagram?
you’re not obligated to read the blurbs i post, nor are you obligated to follow me if this is your mindset and this is how you address me on my own blog. just because i’m writing shorter fics doesn’t mean my writing quality diminishes, and i don’t want to stop writing—it’s something i get joy out of, but i’m not going to pour hours of my time and energy into writing these long fics if interaction is low. and i have every right to do that.
i’m human too. and i’m responding accordingly to what i’ve been given and how my fics are being treated.

Hi. I was just wondering if you had any tips for new Tumblr users to get their posts seen. I am a writer and want to post stories on my page. I tried doing that with a fic I wrote and had no luck in getting it seen in the tags I listed. Tried doing support and was left hanging. I created a new blog and want to post it there as a fresh start but don't want to redo the deletion and creation process over again. Any tips for a new user and writer?
Hello! Thank you for asking, it's always flattering even though I wouldn't consider my blog all that popular or successful tbh!
Tags are indeed fickle, I've been using the same ones for years out of habit (and perhaps a stubborn attempt at consistency) but have actually little faith that they are what bring in the notes. Getting attention to long-form writing is a real struggle on this site, but I'll try to help.
First, I'd recommend following lots of other writing blogs. They are likely to reciprocate, so very quickly your follower count (your effective audience) will grow. Interacting with them (whether just with likes, or with comments, questions, dms, w/e) will increase the likelihood of them following back and also of them actually checking out your work. Also, you'll benefit from having a whole load of writing on your own dash to read and learn from and be influenced by.
Second, write for prompt blogs. I really dig @nosebleedclub for their month prompts, and @writerscreed have been going for years with weekly prompts that can often teach you new ways of writing as well as giving a topic about which to write (although they are more often about poetry than prose). Write for them, tag them, and they'll kindly reblog your work to a far larger audience than your own. Keep it regular and people are more likely to take notice you, follow you, reblog your work themselves, etc.
I can't lie, I have zero clue how to make a blog become genuinely successful. I've been on this site since 2014 and have seen writers burst into popularity with seemingly little effort while others have posted quality content regularly for years without reaching notable counts of notes or followers. As I said above, I wouldn't consider my own blog or my writing to be all that popular, particularly in recent years (but that can be directly tied to the fact I hardly ever post writing anymore). One can only try, and hope.
If you do become disheartened and delete this new blog of yours then I won't blame you, but the reality is that it may take months or years before you get the level of engagement you're hoping for. The writing community here can offer a lot more than just likes and reblogs, and the value of your writing goes way beyond what either of those attempt to quantify. I wish the best of luck to you, and hope you stick around.

So...this story originally began as an entry I wrote for the @smquickies2022 event a few months ago. The challenge was to write a sexy fic in a thousand words or less, which I managed to do...but I wasn’t particularly fond of the result, to be honest. The entry ended up focusing almost entirely on the sex to the exclusion of everything else, so I decided to expand the story for Smutember using the Day 16 prompt of “Something New” for the original @smutember event. It can also fit under the Week 3 prompts of “First Times” and “Friends With Benefits” of Sailor Moon Smutember, hosted by @floraone. (It wasn’t Setsuna’s first threesome, but it was Usagi’s and Mamoru’s.)
Anyway, I’ve also included the original smquickies entry (Theme: Lace) as a bonus chapter for posterity, but there’s really no reason to read it if you’ve already read this chapter...unless you really are just interested in reading the smut part. In that case...have fun!

Here is a detailed (but not extensive) guide to how I tag reblogs. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for something more specific to be tagged so that it can be filtered for your benefit. Examples: #non-con, #choking, #breeding, etc.
Because of the current state of this blog, not all of the hyperlinked tags lead anywhere. This will change over time. Not all of the tags listed here are hyperlinked because of how I’ve chosen to format them. This will not change over time.

#might have already reblogged this? – a sorting function for myself because the queue is currently extensive, and I’m often collecting works from various sources, so I can’t always keep track if I’ve already reblogged a fic or not. once I’m finished developing this blog and the queue has mostly run out, I’ll go back and delete duplicates. (there might be multiple tags pertaining to the same message; did you know that if a tag only exists in your queue, tumblr won’t autofill it?)
