Usually, I like to finish reading a fic before recommending it properly, but I've been sucked into about five different STAR WARS fics recently that I've gotten far enough into that I'm willing to trust my heart to them because they're scratching a very specific itch for me--namely, that I want deeper explorations of both the Jedi Order and of Anakin's character. I want fic to punch me in the feelings over both of these aspects of the story. I want fic to sometimes set Obi-Wan and Anakin aside and focus on Ahsoka for awhile, really tell her story. I want Jedi themes woven into a story. I want an exploration of Anakin's mindset that reminds me of just how much I love him and have sympathy for him. And fandom has delivered for me.
DO YOU WANT FIC TO BLACK OUT TO AND LOSE AN ENTIRE WEEKEND OVER? HAVE I GOT SOME RECS FOR YOU:
✦ Out with Lanterns by SkyeBean, ahsoka & mace & jedi & clones & cast, 312.5k     In another universe, Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Depa Billaba decide a Padawan could do Mace some good. It takes a while, but he eventually agrees. When he takes Ahsoka Tano as his Padawan, Mace knows that he's broken through a Shatterpoint and changed the course of a life. How, he doesn't know.     This fic accomplishes several things that have sent me over the moon: 1) At its heart, it's an Ahsoka fic that shows her growing up as a Padawan, going on missions, learning lessons, and having character growth. 2) It weaves in so many other characters around her, that Mace is there in almost every chapter, serious but warm in the Force, just as beautifully characterized as she is. 3) The other Jedi get their moments of excellents, Shaak taking Ahsoka on her Akul hunt was wonder to read, seeing Obi-Wan show up for a chapter had me over the moon, Adi taking care with Ahsoka was lovely, Depa was a shining star when she took Ahsoka under her wing, Fox growing used to these strange Jedi and growing into himself through Ahsoka's eyes was wonderful. 4) The writing is that kind of solid that I don't mean as mid-tier, but the kind that I feel like can bear weight on it, I can pick it up and read for 30k and barely realize any time has passed, despite that I've gotten through an entire arc of the fic. 5) It does an incredible job of balancing that feel of The Clone Wars show, without directly copying anything, that it's like these are arcs that I could have seen on the show itself, the lessons woven in, but still with enough plot moving forward and action to make it exciting. If you want more Jedi-centric fic in your life (where they don't have to be perfect! sometimes they can be less than perfect and it's okay because they're still good! ohhhh, my heart warmed at that) or you want to read a lovely Ahsoka-centric fic in a different life, but still so recognizably herself, then this is one I want to shove right in your face immediately.
✦ Take it from the top and try again by mauvera, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & padme & mace & dooku & cast, time travel, 116.k wip     Five years into his self imposed exile on Tattooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi is gifted the chance to go back and bring hope back to the galaxy. With hindsight on his side, he fully intends to save his master, save his padawan, make some new and old friends again, prepare the Jedi for a war they’ll hopefully never see and begin to pull apart all the many tangled threads of the Sith Lord’s plans. Should be relatively easy. Right?     I got sucked into the first fic in this series (which is complete, if you want to read it--it's not the end of the story, but it's a good stopping point and feels like it should have some solid resolution if you don't want to get into a wip) and read the first fic over the course of about three days because I was sucked in so thoroughly. I can never get enough of Obi-Wan time traveling back to the past, where he loves the Jedi and they love him, and I love this one because he has to make genuine plans for changing things--things change and I have no idea how that's going to affect Palpatine's machinations! Exciting! But it's also a lovely look at Obi-Wan's dynamics with multiple characters--I found the Obi-Wan & Padme scenes a hightlight personally, their friendship really blossomed as they both flung themselves into trying to better the galaxy, even if she doesn't know he's from the future, that he's working so hard matched a lot of her energy and I really enjoyed that--from Qui-Gon to Mace to Padme to Anakin and, as the sequel progresses, Dooku as well. It's another Jedi-positive fic, it has me invested in the plot, it's a joy to see competent!Obi-Wan, and I would love to shove it at more people.
✦ Post Order 66 Exile AU by Livsy, obi-wan & anakin, 46k (wip-esque)     After a failed order 66, in which many Jedi still died but the Sith were defeated, an exiled warrior and a boy wander a distant planet and attempt to get along.     This is probably the shortest fic on this list but I'm including it because it genuinely felt longer than that, for how dense the emotional intensity of it is. It's an AU where the Jedi barely eked out a victory, still on the edge of extinction in many ways, and Anakin deep in the pits of the dark side, so Obi-Wan takes him to a backwater planet in exile for the both of them, traveling through the countryside and just trying to make it from day to day. What punched me right in the feelings place is that this fic doesn't shy away from the hurt and the anger on both sides, that both of them are allowed to be unreliable narrators that have their own points of view on what's transpired and what lays between them. It doesn't back away from the hurt they both feel, the despair they both feel, yet there's hope here. It's ultimately a story about clawing yourself back from the dark side, and it's beautifully characterized for both of them, that unkind things are said on both of their parts, but you understand why the characters are in the place they are. It's wrapped up in a lushly written backdrop, with some lovely Japanese feudal era details woven in, but also with a Star Wars patina spread across all of it. It's not necessarily a kind fic, but if you like fic that bites down on a wound, I enjoyed this series a lot and would love to see it continued--but, honestly, what's here is already enough resolution that, looking back on it after the initial "Noooooo, I need more!" feeling has faded, I'm actually very satisfied with. ✦ Men of Power by AlabasterInk, obi-wan & anakin & mace & yoda & jedi & palpatine & cast, 86.1k wip     When an old powerful man suddenly comes in and sweeps your underage Padawan away without so much as a by your leave, that’s the time to start asking questions.     I'm only about 20k into this fic, so I can't say what shape it will take later on or how much pairings might come into it, but I still had to come running over to shove this fic at people, because it's scratching the itch I have for Jedi-positive fic that explores the idea of Anakin's trauma from his childhood as a slave, that this is a child who is wound so tight and comes from such a horrible thing having been done to him, having been owned as a person, that I understand why he stays silent on some of the things I desperately wish he could talk about or he doesn't really believe some of the things the Jedi tell him. It's a fic that takes a lot more care with Anakin's character than I think canon ever intended, weaving in a lot of the heartbreaking stuff from Legends' supplementing the canon, and is creating something that punches me right in the feelings place for him, that he's such a bright, brilliant boy, but I see why he struggled and it's not about assigning blame in any direction. It's about deeply caring people who fate has take a few steps to the left and something shifts just a little--and I appreciate that there's something very delicate feeling here, that the Jedi just don't have any real reason to be suspicious of Palpatine, his actions make sense, they genuinely can't feel any ill intention from him in the Force, they discuss why it would make sense that he'd want to support Anakin, all while we the readers can see, in hindsight, where the shadows have been creeping in. If you want Jedi-positive fic that also leaves some teeth marks over Anakin's trauma being explored in a way that is entirely sympathetic to him, then I want to shove this fic at you, too.

a love note (and some fics)
Sometimes I wonder if there's really anything bigger out there - the universe, some kind of higher power, fate - and then I think about how extremely lucky I am that I became obsessed with a certain tv show and its characters at just the right time so that I could befriend someone who then introduced me to a particular book at exactly the right time to fall in love with those characters as well. And then, because of my need to have more of those characters, I went looking for more stories about them at exactly the right time to meet a group of people (some of them together, some of them later, but that doesn't matter) who would go on to become my friends.
There must be something, right? To bring together a group of people who live in five to seven different time zones depending on the time of year. To create my safest spaces on the internet. To share not just our love for a book and its characters, but parts of our lives with each other. To have them all wedge themselves into the soft spaces of my heart and never leave.
I've been thinking about this a lot over the last two weeks, because those people conspired and collaborated to gift me a collection of 10 incredible fics for a milestone birthday (tomorrow!) - even though some of them haven't written fic for months and months, or don't write for this fandom at all anymore, or have recently been finding it hard to make words work and finish fics, or are just plain busy with other projects and life. That they took the time to find and make words for me means everything and more 💖💖
I've been absolutely overwhelmed with love these past 10 days (probably to the surprise of no one, I have cried at every single fic drop and I'm crying writing this now). So, I want to share the wonderful fics that they've written for me with you all because it's the least I can do to pay it forward and they're objectively stellar fics. If you haven't come across them already then you should definitely add them to your to read lists/open tabs/MFL. Please show my friends some love and read their work.

2023 Fic Year in Review
Total number of completed stories: One fic and two ficlets
Total word count: 30,066 for the fic and about 2,700 words in ficlets
Fandoms written in: BBC Sherlock
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?
Less. So much less. The past few years have been terribly challenging for me. I won't delve too deeply into personal issues, but we've been enduring the painful decline and slow loss of a beloved family member. There's been a significant financial and emotional burden that my family has shouldered as a result of this (on top of typical work/life stress), and it's been very hard to think about writing when each day feels like survival.
That said, writing is my outlet and my preferred form of stress relief, so I try to eke out some time just to maintain some semblance of my own sanity.
What’s your own favorite story of the year?
There's really not any competition this year, so Nothing to Celebrate wins by default. :)
(I am very pleased with how it turned out. There are a lot of complicated emotions at work beneath the plot, and I'm particularly proud of some of the dialogue where characters are talking past each other and not quite saying what they mean.)
Did you take any writing risks this year?
Nothing to Celebrate is the first time that I've written an unapologetically evil Mary Morstan. I like to think I pulled it off!
Do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?
I plan to finish up my current WIP, Time in a Bottle, early in 2024. Much of the last two chapters are already drafted and just need some retooling.
Beyond that-- I have a few WIPs languishing in my WIP folder that I'm absolutely dying to get back to. One is an angst monster of an amnesia story. The other is a cracky AU fusion. Both will get written even if it kills me.
And I'd like to do more ficlets. They keep my writing skills sharp.
Most popular story of the year?
Nothing to Celebrate! I was delighted by the reception this one received.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Out of the three (completed) things I posted this year? Probably Distraction, an angsty little ficlet where a captor forces John to hit Sherlock. It didn't get much love compared to some of my other ficlets, maybe because of the subject matter. It's also posted here if you prefer reading on Tumblr
Most fun story to write:
I had a big smile on my face revisiting the storm chaser boys in my ficlet After The Storm.
Biggest disappointment:
Not writing more. But it is what it is.
Biggest surprise:
How warm and welcoming and passionate this fandom remains, even after all these years. I love you all.

A Little Twisted
Tumblr media
Summary: The Winchester's take a case you've put the file together for, and despite the opinion of your mother, Ellen Harvelle, you chase their tail to help them on the hunt. [Based on 2.06 of SPN, aka No Exit.]
Word count: 3.8k
A/n: Listen I know we all love Jo but wouldn't it be fun to imagine us in her place instead? Clearly under the gaze of Dean Winchester, as well?? I've got just the fic for you :] (also this is just a little fic I finished and wanted to post as a way to clean up my wips. I'm still on hiatus, but I hope you all take this as a little parting gift. love u all <3)
Tumblr media
You’d spent the morning arguing with your mother, Ellen Harvelle, over whether or not you were “allowed” to leave the roadhouse and go out on your own to hunt. You for one, were fed up with her obvious disregard for how old you actually were, 21 years old, a grown woman. You should be able to go out on your own, especially for something like this. The disagreement quickly turned to a yelling match between the two of you, throat burning as you continue to defend yourself.
“You can’t keep me here!”
“Oh don’t you bet on that, sweetie.”
You bet on a lot of things in life, but this you were sure you knew you wanted- this you were sure you needed.
“What are you gonna do? Are you gonna chain me up in the basement?”
“You know what? You’ve had worse ideas than that recently. Hey, you don’t wanna stay? Don’t stay. Go back to school!”
School. College. The place every single person side eyed you for your interests and style of clothing. You couldn't go back. Not after almost making a stab victim out of a man who'd been harassing you nonstop. To prevent being suspended or worse, you dropped out.
“I didn’t belong there! I was a freak with a knife collection!”
She didn't understand. She would never understand.
“Yeah but getting yourself killed on some dusty backroad- that’s where you belong?!”
It was then your eyes faltered from your mother’s expression to the two men that had walked into their bar. It seemed the tension finally broke as she whipped her head around at them. The Winchesters.
“Guys, bad time.”
"Yes ma'am." Sam took the tension in the room as a sign, considering they had walked in on an argument, ones you assumed they'd had multiple times with each other.
"Yeah, we rarely drink before 10, anyway." Dean followed, not wanting to agitate your mother any more than you already had.
The Winchesters just happened to butt into the argument at the most convenient time for you. Dean and Sam’s rushed apology for interrupting sends them turning toward the door again, until you catch their attention.
“Wait. I wanna know what they think about this.” Huffing, you walk over to the countertop with the file thrown on top of it.
“I don’t care what they think!” She retorted once again, wanting to keep it between you two.
They’re both staring awkwardly before the roadhouse phone rings, making you glare at it, the ringing repeating before your mother paused the argument to answer it.
Dean and Sam stayed out of the disagreement in fear of what your mother would say or do to them if they’d intervened.
But, with her back turned, you quickly grabbed the case file off the bartop and approached the brothers.
“Three weeks ago a young girl disappears from a Philadelphia apartment.”
Silence rang out as Dean just stared at you, holding the file out for him to grab.
“Take it, it won’t bite.” You said sarcastically, lifting it up to his face.
“No, but your mom might.” You tilted your head at Dean, knowing he couldn’t say no to you.
The green-eyed man's eyebrows dropped from their raised position as he finally grabbed the file from your hands. Relief washed over you in watching the brothers peek through the file.
“And this girl wasn’t the first. Over the past 80 years, six women have vanished. All from the same building, all young blondes.”
You explained the details of the case in more detail, glancing from Sam to Dean to see how they reacted to the information. You picked up on Sam’s genuine interest in it, while Dean only looked it over plainly until you finished going on about it.
“It only happens every decade or two, so cops never eyeball the pattern. So we’re either dealing with one very old serial killer or-“
Dean finally spoke.
“Who put this together? Ash?”
As if he thought a woman couldn't put a silly little case file together.
“I did it myself.” You admitted, proudly, noticing Dean’s face falter with what looked like genuine surprise.
He glanced between your face beaming with pride, and the file in his hands. Dean wouldn't admit it, but he was impressed with your extensive knowledge on the case, only giving you a look.
“Huh.”
“I gotta admit, we’ve hit the road for a lot less.” Sam spoke up again.
The sound of the phone being hung up was the last thing you heard before your mother spoke again.
“Good. If you like the case so much, you take it.” Ellen's voice sounded out again, having ended the phone call abruptly.
Turning to your mother again with more annoyance this time, your scowl intensified.
“Mom.”
Another desperate plea for you mother to treat you like the adult you factually were. Didn't matter if she didn't think you could do it, you believed in yourself enough for the both of them.
“Sweetheart, this family has lost enough. I won’t lose you too. I just won’t.”
With that, the brothers took the case file with them and drove off. As they'd hit the road, your plan to catch up with them wasn’t far behind.
You’d been eager to join the Winchesters for this specific hunt, one you put the case file together for. It was easier to let your mother cool off for a while, before even attempting to talk to her again.
You had fibbed to the hawk-like supervision of her that night by letting her know you’d gone to Vegas, far after the brothers had left. It was only a diversion from where you were really going, roping Ash into laying a credit card trail all the way to Nevada, after threatening him to keep your plans to himself.
You drove all the way to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, showing up to the apartment building Dean and Sam had already been looking around in.
“You did a really good job with this place,” your voice echoed down the hallway, in conversation with the landlord of the building.
Imagine your surprise when the slight turn of your head from down the hallway brought Sam and Dean into your view.
“The hell are you doing here?” Dean muttered, an idea for cover popping into your head.
Your eyes brightened up as you saw him, in a way that made Dean question what the hell you were doing, until you spoke.
“There you are, honey. This is my boyfriend, Dean, and his buddy Sam.”
Boyfriend? Dean thought.
“Good to meet you.” Dean shook the man’s hand, wanting to play along with your facade before actually asking you what was up.
”Quite a gal you got here.” The landlord replied, standing opposite the three of you now.
“Oh yeah, she’s a pistol!” Dean choked out, grabbing your waist quite tightly. His grip only tightened around you, relishing in the feeling of the older Winchester's hand a little too much for a split second.
“So, did you already check out the apartment? The one for rent?” You said, another fake laugh getting choked out.
“Yeah. Yes. Loved it. Great flow.”
Smooth, Winchester…
“How'd you get in?” The landlord questioned.
“It was open.”
Dean’s so good at covering his ass, it almost made you blush.
“Now, Ed, um, when did the last tenant move out?” Dean spoke again, still playing along with your rouse.
“About a month ago. Cut and run, too. Stiffed me for the rent.”
“Well, her loss, our gain. ‘Cause if Dean-o loves it, it’s good enough for me.” The fake smile you’d been putting on was starting to pain your cheeks, secretly hoping this more than awkward conversation would come to an end soon enough.
“Oh sweetie..” Dean jolted your body closer to him with his arm once again, aggravated at how you managed to lie to your mother and make it out here, not to mention put up such a convincing fib to the landlord's face.
“We’ll take it.” You stated, handing him the wad of cash in your purse.
“Ah. Okay.” The man took the money from you, in awe of it as he walked you to the apartment and handed you the key.
Time passed, and the brothers had been loading their guns on the table in the middle of the apartment, your hand shuffling through your bag for something as you looked over to the older Winchester.
“I’ll flip you for the sofa," you spoke, pulling your knife out of the bag.
“Does your mother even know you’re here?” Dean's tone held hints of annoyance, but you knew he was glad to see you. Even if he didn't show it.
“Told her I was going to Vegas.”
“You think she’s gonna buy that?”
Dean knew your mother, Ellen wasn't shy of stupid, by a long shot. He knew if he didn't give you up, your mother would have him by the balls otherwise.
“I’m not an idiot. I got Ash to lay a credit card trail all the way to the casinos.” You smirked, proud of yourself but still feeling like Dean was upset with you.
“You know, you shouldn’t lie to your mom. You shouldn't be here, either.”
You glance over to Sam, who’s inspecting the gun in his hand with a different look on his face.
“Well, I am. So untwist your boxers and deal with it.”
“Where’d you get all that money from, anyways?” Sam spoke for the first time since your back and forth with Dean.
“Working, at the Roadhouse.”
“Hunters don’t tip that well.” Dean started again.
“Well, they aren’t that good at poker, either.”
You had the skill to hustle other hunters in poker? You? A Harvelle? And Dean hadn’t found this out till now?
Silence fills the air as Dean’s cell starts to ring, picking it up and pausing his bickering.
You continued looking through your bag for your knife, until Dean answered the phone. Pausing, you listened in to Dean’s conversation.
If that’s my mother…
“Yeah? Oh hi, Ellen.”
Shit.
You swiftly walked towards Dean, frantically whisper yelling in his face, your mother on the other side of the phone call.
Your voices overlapped in chaotic whispers as Dean hesitated telling your mother you’d lied to her.
“Don’t you tell her. I’ll kill you if you do. Don’t you do it.”
“Oh, I’m telling her. You’re not even supposed to be here-”
And then with some will-power he still had, Dean decided to keep your secret.
“I haven’t seen her. Yeah, I’m- I’m sure. Absolutely.”
The annoyed look on Dean’s face as he hung the phone up only made you grin from ear to ear.
The three of you sat in the middle of the apartment still, flipping the knife in your hand, as you went over the history of the building to rule out any causes of of these women going missing.
“Would you sit down please?” You said to the older, broad-shouldered Winchester. Dean was pacing behind you, inducing your worry about the case further. He only shared a look with you, before sitting down and continuing on about different reports and evidence of past cases.
“So, have you checked the police reports, uh, county death records…”
You knew the older Winchester had a problem with you showing up while him and Sam were on this hunt. Though, you were the one that gave them the case, to begin with. You spent ten more minutes trying to convince Dean that you knew what you were doing on this hunt. The sources you referenced, spewing out of your brain one after another in an attempt to show them both how serious you were taking this.
It seemed like no matter how much you proved yourself to Dean, he always shot back with another point as to why you shouldn't be there.
"Obituaries, mortuary reports, and seven other sources. I know what I'm doing."
“I think the jury’s still out on that one.” You continued flipping the blade in your hand until Dean said, “Would you put the knife down?”
You placed the knife on the table with a smug look on your face.
“Okay. So, uh, it’s something else then. Maybe some kind of cursed object that brought a spirit with it.” Sam spoke, trying to move their investigation along to find out more about what it is they’re hunting.
“We gotta scan the whole building, everywhere we can get to, right?” It was the fastest way to find a possible lead.
“Right. So, you and me will take the top two floors.” Dean butted in, standing up from his chair.
“We’d move faster if we split up.” You also rose from where you sat, only wanting to move the investigation along quicker.
“Oh, this isn’t negotiable.” The look on Dean’s face said he didn't want to argue anymore and that you’d just have to face the fact that he'd be accompanying you.
“Fine.”
The two of you made it to the top floor of the apartment complex, EMF detectors in hand as you began roaming the hallways side by side. Truth was you enjoyed Dean’s presence, when he wasn’t being a complete ass. You could sense a spark between the two of you, but you'd just have to wait for the right moment to make your move on it.
Plus it was fun to tease him about it in the meantime.
“So, you gonna buy me dinner?”
Dean glanced over to you, then back to his EMF detector while scanning the apartment hallway.
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s just- if you’re gonna ride me this close, it’s only decent you buy me dinner.”
You were only half joking with him, though the idea of a date with Dean Winchester wasn’t completely terrible sounding. You knew your presence didn’t bother him as much as he’d let on to.
The first time he saw you working around the roadhouse, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of you.
The obvious spark between you and Dean only burned brighter every time you were around him, tension thick enough to be cut with a knife.
“Oh, that’s hilarious. You know it’s bad enough I lied to your mom, but if you think I’m letting you out of my sight- I don’t know if you noticed, but you’re kind of the spirits type.”
“Exactly.”
That was the moment Dean realized why you were so avid about this hunt.
“You want to be bait?”
“Quickest way to draw it out and you know it.”
Dean only chuckled in response.
“What?”
“I’m so regretting this.” Dean’s tone was more aggravated now, like he had realized something that put you at risk.
Pausing, you decide that Dean’s attitude wasn’t something you wanted to deal with anymore.
“You know, I've had it up to here with your crap.”
He turned to you, somewhat taken back by what you’d just admitted to him.
“Excuse me?”
“Your chauvinist crap. You think women can’t do the job.”
That was the moment Dean had it with you. There was no way to express that he didn't want you putting yourself in danger without expressing how he felt about you, but he also knew you hadn't been hunting before, even if you put together a convincing case file.
“Sweetheart, this ain’t gender studies. Women can do the job fine. Amateurs can’t. You got no experience. What you do have is a bunch of half-baked romantic notions that some barfly has put in your head.”
“And now, you sound like my mother.”
“Oh, and that’s a bad thing? Because let me tell you-“
“What?” you shook your head at Dean’s hesitation with answering you and finishing his sentence.
“Forget it.”
“No, you started this.”
“Y/n, you got options. No one in their right mind chooses this life. My dad started me in this when I was so young, I wish I could do something else.”
“You love the job.”
“Yeah, but I’m a little twisted.”
“You don’t think I’m a little twisted, too?”
“You’ve got a mother that worries about you. Who wants something more for you. Those are good things. You don’t throw things like that away. They might be hard to find later.”
Dean started to walk away from you, until your hand pulls on his jacket, turning back to you.
“Dean, wait.”
“What?”
You paused, wanting to hold a serious conversation with Dean, the look on your face making him turn back fully and focus on you.
Shooting him a pointed look, you took a deep breath.
"Look, if you wanna hate me for lying to my mom or whatever, then fine. But let's realize that we're both here for the same reason: to hunt and kill whatever's in this building. I think it's cute and all that you want what's best for me, wanna protect me from whatever evil the world has to offer, but you're not taking me from this hunt. Not when I'm the one that put the damn case file together in the first place." Your finger poked Dean's chest argumentatively, swallowing down the realization of how firm it was under your touch.
Dean clenched his jaw awkwardly, noticing how your eyes shifted down from his to glance at his lips for a split second.
Or maybe he was imagining it, too caught up in your heated argument to notice. There had always been something between you and Dean, something too low to notice at first.
But where there was a spark, there was a flame.
"Are you gonna say anything? Or just let me talk my head off?" You shook your head as the older Winchester stayed silent, noticing his gaze shoot across your soft features ever so slightly.
"I-" He started to speak, but got cut off with your impatient tone.
"No. You know what? I'm done trying to tell you why I'm here. Do what you want, hate me if you want.. I don't care-"
Dean's lips were the only thing you felt before freezing in your stance for a slight moment at the contact.
It wasn't unwelcome, just unexpected.
Half a second passed before your lips melded with his, plump and soft against yours. His kiss softened, palm cupping your cheek now. The moment had stopped time, his lips against yours consuming all the thoughts and worries from the hunt washing away.
You swore you heard a groan from him as your hand pressed against his chest. It was only a moment later before Dean pulled away, looking down at you in a different way now.
The pink of Dean's tongue poked out to wet his lips, an action you couldn't help yourself from gawking at, before he decided to speak.
"I'm never gonna hate you. Matter of fact, that's the last thing I feel, sweetheart." The boyish chuckle that filled your ears only gravitated you towards him even more.
"Dean..." You breathed, noticing how the blush in his cheeks reddened when you spoke his name.
"No, look. I don't want you to put yourself in danger for the sake of the case, it ain't right." You pouted at his words, in which he held up a hand to halt you from saying anything, "But, if you think you're up for it, then I'm not gonna stand in your way. I just- your mom is gonna have my ass if something happens to you."
You shake your head vigorously, meeting the compassionate look in Dean's eyes with your own. "As much as you'd like to protect me, there's only so much you can do. If we're gonna finish this hunt, we have to take risks. I promise you I'll be fine. No matter what happens. Okay?"
Dean listened intently to every word you said, with a hint of worry and skepticism in his eyes. He knew you could handle yourself, you were a Harvelle, of course. But he would be damned if he didn't worry a shit ton about the beautiful woman in front of him. He'd already swore to himself that he would keep you safe, no matter what, and do anything and everything it took in order to return you back to the safety of your bed at night.
With a small nod, Dean's pretty green eyes lit up with hope.
"Dammit," Dean swore, lifting his head to you, "I swear to god if you aren't careful-"
"When am I not?" Your hands grabbed at his red shirt, rubbing up and down his chest ever so slightly, eyes flicking between his and his lips that sat perfectly under his nose.
"Just don't get reckless. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. Couldn't live with myself if I got you killed or worse before I even got the chance to-" He trailed off, thoughts running ramped behind that perfect head of his.
"Before what?" Tilting your head to the side, curious at what the Winchester suggested. It was Dean's turn to flick his eyes between yours and the soft lips he'd pressed against his just a moment before.
"Before... I did this," Dean's hands surrounded your waist, pulling you against his chest, close enough to feel his breath on your cheek, "And this.." he pressed his lips to your neck, tipping your chin up for more access to your skin, licking your skin ever so slightly with his tongue. It pulled a gasp from you, one of your hands reaching up to run your fingers through his hair.
"Dean..." His name whimpered from your lips due to his mouth paying attention to a particular spot on the skin of your neck, "Kiss me again."
Your boldness pulled him from your neck, lust-blown eyes meeting yours again as that cheeky but sexy smile grew across his face.
"Gladly." One of his hands cupped your jaw, pressing his lips to yours again. The feeling stirred in your gut as his kisses filled you with enamor, one you didn't know was there until you pressed your lips further against his own. His fingers against your skin had goosebumps spreading across your skin like a wave.
"Now you really have to buy me that dinner..." you chuckled, Dean humming against your skin.
"Mmm... you're right. What kind of a man would I be if I didn't? Especially after kissing you in this hallway like a couple of teenagers.." Dean pulled away from your face, placing another kiss on your cheek. His palm cupped the same cheek he'd just kissed, the heat of your skin warming his hand.
"We will get through this hunt. And when it's over... it better be a damn good dinner."
You smiled at the green-eyed man before you, and when his eyes met yours, he smirked and nodded again.
"You bet it's gonna be. I am the classy type."
"I'll believe it when I see it."
As much as you wanted to stay pressed up against the older Winchester, making out like teenagers at a high school party, you pushed his chest off you and continued down the corridor in search of evidence.

retirement annoucement
hello friends, so if you hadn't noticed by now that i've been pretty inactive besides my once a month posting. that is because i am no longer as interested in bts as i once was a few years ago, but i am forever grateful for the love and inspiration this band and their music has given me.
in four months time, i will be abandoning this blog and returning to the one i had since i was 14. this blog will stand as an archive of my love for bts.
as much as i wanted to finish all of my works in progress that i had planned, i narrowed it down to complete my wizard101 au fics (finished as of yesterday) and my avatar the last airbender au fics (four more to go). so after those last four stories have been written and published, i will be retiring from the bts fanfiction writing community. at least on tumblr that is.
i will more than likely be writing and posting fanfiction (on ao3) for other fandoms outside of bts (doctor who, supernatural, percy jackson, marvel, avatar etc), but with no set schedule. so if you like my writing style and those fandoms, i hope you'll like to read those.
more on my old wips, if there was any idea that i had talked about previously that you were particularly looking forward to: i will be converting my wips page into a "what would've been". i will post all the little snippets and ideas i had, so you guys will still have at least something if you were looking forward to a particular fic. there is a small likelihood that i will continue to write the ideas i had for them, but will probably post them to my ao3, but no promises.
FOR DEEP WATERS: i refuse to be the type of author to just leave you guys hanging so i will be posting the chapter outlines i had for the last few chapters so you will have some closure for that story.
thank you all for your kind messages and love you've given me the past three years. it truly means a lot and i will treasure it forever.
with love,
dip <3

I wanted to do one of these this year, as I've been really pleased with what I've written this year, especially in the back half.
For November and December I tried writing or working on my writing (outlining, editing) every day, and I was able to do so almost every day. I think it unclogged something, and I'll try to keep going with this in 2024.
This year I tried out a new fandom, FFXIV, it's been an interesting experience. I love what I've written and where it's taking me. I've had fun developing Meryta and getting to know her, it has taken a bit for her to let herself get known to me, and it's still a process! I'm enjoying having something new to dig into. I've also written a few shorts for Wayfarer IF, and my MCs do live rent free in my head - but for now they're mostly biding their time.
I'm looking forward to writing in 2024!
Overview
Fandoms: 2
Fics Published: 10
WIPs (actively working on): 3
WIPs/ideas (back burner): 5
I haven't tracked my words all year, so I can't properly tell. I've split up my in-progress fics as I tend to get ideas and jot down the gist or even write a little and then abandon. Some of them will never see the light, but some of them have more than 2000 words in them and I do want to finish them up.
For me, it's a constant balance of following the new idea or buckle down and finish something. I will work on this, I have things I want out in the world.
Fic List
Reprieve - FFXIV | E | Meryta x Emmanellain | 4206 words
I started this fic as a sweet kiss, and decided later to add the whole encounter and the morning after to the fic in November. I'm glad I did and it's been so fun exploring the sweetness between Meryta and Emmanellain.
Distance - FFXIV | M | Beatin x Gairhard, Meryta & Beatin | 1542 words
I have such a fondness for the DoH quests, and the ARR carpenter ones in particular. This is one of the favorite things I wrote this year, and one of the first.
Wayfarer short trio - View (G), Alone (G), Flirt (T) | 1474 words total
I wrote three short fics for @wayfarer-week, one for each of my MCs. They are all pre-game, and I'm very happy that I got these done, and the moments I choose.
Wrong - FFXIV | G | Meryta & Urianger | 691 words
I wanted to explore how Meryta felt about Urianger after the HW patches, and how this could lead to a beginning friendship
Under Familiar Stars - FFXIV | E | Meryta x Tansui | 2085 words
I so enjoyed Tansui when he showed in MSQ, and by mid Stormblood I had the idea of Meryta having a fling, so I wrote this. I really love how SB was both a homecoming and turning point in her maturity and confidence, and this fic does explore some of this - along with the smut ;). I'm really happy how this turned out.
The Perils of Ishgard Publishing | FFXIV | G | Meryta & Emmanellain | 428 words
A fun note on (fake) wol romance novel became this, and I really love how I was able to write off the cuff - and get to explore Meryta and Emmanellain's friendship after their fling.
Stress Relief | FFXIV | T | Calantha x Hien | 527 words
This was a gift for @galadae, and I'm so happy I got to write Cala and Hien. I love their relationship, and I'm so happy I got to write this, and that my writing has unwound itself enough to write a small gift fic.
Passing Through | FFXIV | E | Meryta x Tansui | 4518 words
By the time November rolled around I'd went off cliff on Meryta and Tansui's relationship, and this fic is my favorite of the year. I'm having so much fun exploring their dynamic, and writing some pretty fun smut. This one made me happy.
End notes
this was the year of FFXIV writing, and it does feel different writing for this fandom than other's I've engaged with. I don't know if I can or will set words on it, but I do look forward to exploring more ffxiv writing and reading next year.
The past two months have been so fun to me, and I've been pouring more words out than the entire year. For next year, my goal is to feel more free, to keep writing what sparks interest, and especially not worry of fitting everything perfectly into a fixed timeline. Not worry about living up to other's or my own expectations or bar for "making this thought a fic", not worry about pairings or topics, and just have fun.
happy writing to us all in 2024!

20 questions for fic writers
Thanks for the tag, @another-lost-one!
How many works do you have on ao3?
106, all in. (105 under ripeteeth, 1 orphaned)
What's your total ao3 word count?
966,792. God, I'd love to hit 1 million before the end of the year, but that's extremely unlikely.
What fandoms do you write for?
Way too many. The main are: The Terror, MDZS, Disco Elysium, Harry Potter, Good Omens.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Salinity (And Other Measurements of Brackish Water) [Good Omens]: 3094 how a resurrection really feels [Disco Elysium]: 1479 Vigil Strange [The Magnus Archives]: 1266 the art of asking your boss for a raise [Succession]: 1154 no son of mine [Beyond Evil]: 993
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to, but I get easily overwhelmed and sometimes don't. I feel awful about it, I'm so sorry. I am so grateful for every comment, truly.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I guess it depends what you consider angstier? I have some centered around grief and loss and some focused on fucked-up relationships and characters continuing to make choices that hurt them. It's kind of cheating to say Asterius is my choice, considering that I haven't published the end of it yet, but anyone familiar with the story of Theseus and the Minotaur should hear the beat of the story I'm telling there.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
For some reason, I think it's either The Passion or How A Resurrection Really Feels. A believable happiness feels the most relatable to me, and two middle-aged, damaged-but-still-here-godammit men finding a bit of comfort in the midst of all of it just feels right. Like a comfortable boiled wool jacket just a little big in the shoulders. The one that smells like your father's cologne. That kind of warmth.
Do you get hate on fics?
Yeah. It was really bad for awhile, and was the main reason I left Good Omens and turned off comments and orphaned Salinity. I'm pretty desensitized to it now.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I write pretty much only smut. I don't know what I'd categorize it as other than that tbh.
Do you write crossovers?
No, never felt the interest.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, I don't think so.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah! It was a really cool experience and I felt really honored.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. I've tried to but I'm terrible at it. It doesn't help that I've had terrible writer's block for the past several years though.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
I have no idea how to answer this. All of them I've ever shipped?
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Revachol Calling. God, I want to finish it so badly. There was a very specific something in me while I was writing it, and then a lot of everything happened. Anyway, I've lost it, that je ne sais quoi. I started replaying Disco Elysium again recently, so maybe it will come back. Here's hoping.
What are your writing strengths?
Imitation. Hearing the music in a sentence. Being fascinated by everything and bogging the reader down in necklaces of useless fact.
What are your writing weaknesses?
See above, turn it up to eleven.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?:
Not unless I'm reasonably fluent and confident in the language.
First fandom you wrote for:
Ghost Story, for Harry Potter, first posted in December 2018. It's surreal to think that it's been five years. What a strange five years.
Favorite Fic You've Written?
Either Revachol Calling (for Disco Elysium) or Blood, Bones, and Butter (for MDZS). I think there's something deeply personal about Revachol Calling that both makes me struggle with it but also resonate the most with it.
For Blood, Bones, and Butter, it was one of the more fun fics I've ever written and I really enjoyed being able to add layers to what the reader knew by simply adding an additional viewpoint, kinda triangulating their messy beginning through three men who are each extremely certain that they're correct. (Yeah, I'd watched Rashomon recently, why do you ask). That's the fascinating thing about songxuexiao for me, each of them is so certain they've got the others all figured out, but they're also all holding back aspects of their own interiority.
Either way, they're both important to me.
Tagging: @pearwaldorf, @et-in-arkadia, @danpuff-ao3, and anyone else who likes!

Questions for Writers
I was tagged by @corpocyborg! Thank you, bb!! ♡
Last book I read: I still haven't finished There's No Such Thing as an Easy Job Kikuko Tsumura I started back in January, lmao. Not for any reason other than I just haven't been in the right headspace to sit down and read for the past few months--What I have read of it is great, so hopefully, I can make the time to pick it up again.
Greatest literary inspirations: I like the female protags in Karin Slaughter novels, and I love Tanya Huff's Torin Kerr from her Confederation series--I'm sure they've inspired me on some level. Oh, and Phedre from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books, too, although it's been ages since I read those. But I think most of my inspiration actually comes from other forms of media. I love the action babes of the late 90s/early 00s: Lara Croft is the number one inspo here, and pretty much all of Michael Turner's comic girls but especially Sara from Witchblade. And I think Better Call Saul is easily one of the best-written shows ever made--That's one I always go back to when I feel like I need to refill the inspo well.
Things in my current fandoms I want to read but I don't want to write: I have a confession: I usually only read a ton of fic when I first get into a fandom and I can't get enough and I just want to soak it all up, but after a certain point, I just don't have a lot of headspace for other people's stories. 😬 I feel bad about it sometimes, and it's not like I never read anything after that point, but 90% of the time, what I wanna write is what I wanna read. It's kind of a closed loop, I guess.
Things in my current fandoms I want to write but I think nobody would be interested in them but me: Well, I'm not at all deterred by being the only person interested in something I write, haha. One of my favorite one-shots I've ever written is between my Cousland and Hawke meeting briefly at Ostagar, and it's probably my least popular fic on AO3 by a big margin. But I do like deep-diving into my own OCs, and it generally is harder to get an audience for fic that doesn't have canon characters. Ain't gonna stop me, though!
You can recognize my writing by: Lots of pining and banter; obvious thesaurus abuse
My most controversial take (current fandom): Yeah, no, not gonna be sharing my actual most controversial takes, lmao.
But I do also love the Devil ending! I don't think there's one objectively "best" ending--What's good for one V isn't necessarily good for another--But for my Valerie, it suited her story the best. I love the poetry of her going back to Arasaka after getting fired by them, I love storming Arasaka Tower with Goro, I love the conflict with Johnny, I love making Goro confront how fucked up the Arasakas are, I love the possibilities of Mikoshi--The only way it would have been better for me is if this nixed idea had actually been put into action.
And I wish we could roleplay a V that is actually more "pro"-corpo in the game, especially if we had the corpo lifepath. Sticking it to the man is sexy and all, but I just love delving into characters that align themselves with shitty institutions and exploring different motivations (I personally like cynical pragmatism/self-preservation and delusional idealism) that lead a person there.
Top three favorite tropes: 1) Rivals to friends to lovers 2) Mutual pining 3) Forced proximity
What’s your current writing mood (10 – super motivated and churning out words like crazy, 0 – in a complete rut): Like, 0.5, lmao. I've been rereading and organizing my WIPS, so there's some effort being put in there, but I'm very much in one of my "ummmm, how do I even write fiction?" phases.
Share a random frustration: I have ZERO discipline when it comes to writing. I need to be in a fully feral, totally isolated from distractions place or I just can't get shit done. When I'm in the zone, I'm in the fuckin' zone, but I get like 3 months of that every 5 years, lmao.
Tagging (with no pressure, as always) @ur-friendly-nbhd-cardassian, @dread-red-queen, @vorchagirl, and @aceghosts <333

Twenty questions for fanfic writers
I was tagged by @xxsksxxx. Thanks, friend! ❤️
Edited to add that @randomfoggytiger just tagged me too. Killing two birds with one stone here. Or something like that.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
76 in total, but only 57 of those are my own fics. The rest belong to two BATB writers who are no longer with us but whose works needed to be available on AO3.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,360,745 total. 587,663 of those are actually mine.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
The X-Files, Beauty and the Beast (TV), A Song of Ice and Fire book series.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
These Scars We Wear
The Calling
Beggar's Banquet
Blessed Be (The Third Night)
Pas de deux
All of these are set in the ASOIAF universe.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yep! There was a stretch of about six years when I disconnected from all my fandoms and didn't respond to anything. Those days are past now and I make sure I always respond to any comment I get.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Pass You By (TXF)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The Possibility of Being (BATB)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I used to be be a Smut Queen back in my OG TXF days. Not sure what's meant by "what kind"? Um, the kind that makes one hot and bothered? Het? Vanilla? I'll stop there.
I quit writing the more explicit stuff 'cuz I got bored with it. These days I'm more interested in the cerebral side of things.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No. I have a hard enough time keeping a single set of characters in line. Can't imagine trying to do it for more than one 'verse at a time.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Someone from The Nanny fandom (who knew?) pilfered one of my TXF fics, changed the character names, and posted it. Weirdness.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, several. More than happy to give the go-ahead to requests like that.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, I wrote Doors with a fellow TXF writer named Alanna Baker. It was fun but I don't know that I'd want to do it again. I'm much more of a loner when it comes to writing.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Can't pick one and you can't make me. My favorites are the three I write for: Mulder and Scully, Vincent and Diana, Sandor and Sansa.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sticks and Stones, a TXF casefile I started a really, really long time ago. I also have a BATB WIP I've been messing with for the past year or so but I don't know if it will ever see the light of day.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, pacing, tone.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Will actually sitting down and writing be considered a proper answer? If so, that.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I did a few lines in Italian in one of my BATB fics but that's it. I can barely write in English, let alone another language! 😄
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Beauty and the Beast.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I'll give you one from each fandom.
TXF: Kintsugi. Not my most popular, but this one was effortless and there's nothing I'd go back and change. My take on Season 7 (aka The Season of Secret Sex).
BATB: The Possibility of Being (see above for the link). This entire project was a love letter not only to Vincent and Diana, but to my writing mentor, Nan Dibble.
ASOIAF (SanSan): These Scars We Wear. Link is above. Another love letter. This one to Sandor Clegane and his Little Bird. Because they deserve a happily ever after.
I figure this one has already made the rounds so I'm not going to tag anyone. Please consider playing if you've haven't been tagged and want to join in. It's fun!

fic writer meme
ty lore @megafaunatic for tagging meee :3c
How many works do you have on Ao3?
fifty three as of today. tomorrow? who knows.... (probably still fifty three)
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
518,435 words .... wrow.....
3. What fandoms do you write for?
historically its been all over the place but theres so much stuff rotting and dying in my gdrive that has never been posted so i feel like i have a broader actual ouvre than is represented on ao3. which is mdzs heavy at least in the past couple years
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
5. beyond all limit (wangxian i wrote for lore right after i first read the book) 4. if the story's over (moshang post-divorce get-together fic) 3. someone as good for me as you (written in 2016 for holster and ransom when i was reading check, please. LMAO) 2. at least as deep as the pacific ocean (written in 2015 in the clearest example of 'person distraught by the tragic ending of a tragedy misses the fucking point and writes a coffee shop au of achilles and patroclus after she read tsoa' ever, even bigger LMAO) 1. your name safe in their mouth (lsz gets his dad back, and other emotional adventures)
5. Do you respond to comments?
i used to try to reply to every comment i got but i stopped doing that around the same time i went to college and got more depressed. but i love reading comments and i sometimes reply if someone says something that moves me or like. asks me a question about the fic that i want to elaborate on? because i love to yap
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i'm not really good at writing straight angst i feel like it's normally like. angst with catharsis. but i wrote some explorations on grief in the past couple years that i feel like have the angst factor (what i have of you about nhs after nmj dies, and then when your beard fell out about my sweetie pie kageyama tobio in middle school after his grandpa dies)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
i have a lot of silly fluffy fics... idk i try to toe the line mostly of like. the joys and sadnesses of human experience but sometimes you just gotta fluff it up. i'll set the table, you can make the fire, which is book verse aziraphale/crowley living in a cottage and being in love, comes to mind....i love that one
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i don't think i've ever really gotten hate on a fic? i have been extremely lucky in that regard. especially since my whole ouvre from like 2014 onward is on that damn site and much of it is very cringeworthy.
9. Do you write smut?
not well!
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written?
i often will do like kind of a quasi-crossover kind of thing rather than a True Crossover wherein i take characters i like from one medium and plop them into the roles and places of characters i like from another medium. i did a dragon age wangxian fic where lwj was the inquisitor from da:i called we held together the fragile sky that kind of exemplifies this dynamic
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of or that anyone has ever notified me of, but i also don't look that hard. if this has ever happened, it would hurt my feelings, so please don't do it ? lol
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes!!!! and i was honored
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not as such but i have one not-intended-for-posting fic which is basically just a transcription of jokes i have with my roommate about haikyuu characters LOL which i think counts as co-writing. she's my co-writer in spirit even if i'm the one at the keyboard
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
my answer to this changes with every new fixation i have. like right now it's kagehina. if you asked me four years ago i would have said wangxian. You Know?
15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
SO MANY...i think probably my fullmetal alchemist nie brothers au....i try not to post things until they are done and fully edited now, but that one was a whim-based fic that i lost all strength for as soon as i started thinking too hard about kagehina. i also had a fem nielan sci fi au that was vaguely based off beauty and the beast but nmj was like stuck in a ship and she thought she was its computer and that she was a program but she was actually a person....which i never posted any of except snippets on twitter and i think it was just too sprawling for my current skill level...i just was never able to wrangle it. but i am fond of it nonetheless
16. What are your writing strengths?
based on what other people have told me i would say the way i write sibling / family relationships, and while my prose is not always pretty i do think it can be pretty at times ...
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
i feel like it's often too self-indulgent even if that's what fic is for lol, and i tend to look back on fics and think, i wrote that because i had feelings about it and wanted to say it, but i'm not necessarily sure that This Character would say/do that at this point in time....idk like i fear that when i don't think about it hard enough my characterization can be weak or guided by what eye personally would do vs. what The Character would do. but some of that is because the majority of my fics on ao3 are from years and years ago and i (hopefully) have continued to improve
18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics?
i'm picky about it but when it's done well i think it's really fun and builds so much of the world/character. i think when it's bad it's really bad. when i go about it i try to think about like, a) do i know this language myself/do i know someone who does. if the answer is no i try to keep it really minimal. b) how do people who know multiple languages approach speaking those multiple languages naturally in real life. like (IN MY EXPERIENCE) ppl don't tend to switch languages for random words mid-sentence unless those words are like, mom, dad, uncle, aunt, ect...maybe swearing if they're less familiar with one of the languages and don't know slang/swearing in it...but again when it's done well it's really good and i'm not an expert. i just can kinda tell when it feels off when i read it, if that makes sense...(it's the same way i feel about grammar lol. sometimes i can just tell it's a little Off)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
probably either fma or soul eater or the sister's grimm book series when i was in middle school. or maybe doctor who? idk i had a lot of fanfic notebooks that i have since destroyed and then regretted destroying

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you for the tag, @aniron48 ❤️ This was such a nice way to wrap up this year, and to remember what I'd written!
Tagging @cicerfics @dixkens @dassandre-00qpidsarrow @boffin1710 @samanthahirr and whoever else wants to play along!
Answers under the cut!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 82! I feel like I blacked out and blinked and woke up with a horrifying number of fics!
2. What’s your total A03 word count? 385,997 😨
3. What fandoms do you write for? James Bond mostly. Also Glass Onion/Knives Out. I don't write for The Witcher anymore, but I have in the past. On my laptop is a lot of unfinished Star Trek fic - mainly Kirk/Spock - and a crack at some Arthur/Eames (from Inception).
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
being with you (is the best of all)
date, interrupted
the places you leave in the dust
a rank above
by any other name
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do try to, and I mostly succeed. I like to thank people for investing their time with my work, and I also like getting to know people in fandom. There's still 100+ comments I need to get back to, and some of them are very old. I will get to them though!!! I promise!
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Anything involving the MCD tag. There was also a short called garden that was very sad for other reasons.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Either being with you (is the best of all) or dispatches from the division.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really, though I've had a few rude comments and bookmark notes. One person let me know across three chapters that they hated my characterisation of Bond so much they were tempted to rewrite the ending! But most people are lovely. The Bond fandom is small and most of us have our heads screwed on the right way.
9. Do you write smut? Frequently and without shame. There are 29 E-rated fics in my backlog for your reading pleasure.
10. Do you write crossovers? I have a Knives Out/James Bond crossover series where Bond and Blanc are detectives competing for Q's attention.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes and I am endlessly grateful for people who are more talented with languages than I am ❤️
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Just a team poem for 007 Fest, though I have worked with beta readers.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? Kirk/Spock forever.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I had a multiverse fic I posted a chapter of that I don't think I have the energy for anymore. I was so undecided about the ending that I lost interest in writing it.
16. What are your writing strengths? I think I'm good with characters and details. My writing has been called immersive by a few people, and I do really pride myself on building atmosphere. I think I can turn a good phrase occasionally too!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I need to get better at proofreading for typos. I'm quite lazy with plotting and planning as well. I definitely need to work on that for an original novel I'm writing!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I only do it if it's necessary, and I'm so glad AO3 now has a hover feature for immediate translation. One of my pet peeves at uni was how often scholars used random French and Latin words or phrases when they didn't need to!!!
19. First fandom you wrote for? HP, probably. Or Glee. Those fics have been purged from the internet now 😂
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Either dispatches from the division or the WIP I'm in the process of posting now, called the age of change.
Shout out to everyone who has made it to the end! As a reward, please enjoy this picture of my cat flopped over in her cat tree ❤️

star trek fic recs:
(i've never done this before so bear with me)
TOS:
- Spoctoria series by @waldorph and @screamlet
WC: 78k / Rating: Explicit / Status: Complete / Relationship: Spirk, Spock & Sybok, Spock & T'pring / Genre: Longform Plot, Falling in Love, Royalty AU
Summary: "Spock is heir to the Federation throne, Jim is Prince of America because his fucking brother abdicated, and the Klingons are on the verge of blowing shit up--a love story."
(listen. listen. literally anything by these two authors will be the best thing you've ever read. but this series? blew my fucking mind with how good it was. something about the the way jim and spock are written, combined with the setting they're in and various bits about the universe is just so delightful. it's been three months and i still think about this series every day)
- The Longest Year series by A_Noone and Hinya_O_Elena
WC: 140k / Rating: Explicit / Status: WIP / Relationship: McSpirk / Genre: Longform Plot, TOS Structure, Self-discovery
Summary: "Leonard McCoy has been through some shit. A terrible divorce, losing his kid, and terrifying life-long spooky weirdness due to having his psionic potential catalyzed by God-Knows-What in high school. When his best friend, James Kirk, finally took command of the Enterprise, things seemed to be looking up -- right up until that damnable green blooded hobgoblin got involved.
This is the Second Year of the Five Year Mission as it could have gone, with angsty romance, harrowing adventures, metaphysical revelations, and McCoy discovering that James Kirk and Spock care more about him that he'll ever know."
(this is one of my favorite hidden gems. it manages to pull of first person pov so excellently, it's dry and witty and funny, the plot is constructed really well)
- To Catch a Fish by Darksknight
WC: 15k / Rating: Mature / Status: Complete / Relationship: Spirk / Genre: Crack, Humor, Fluff
Summary: "Spock’s realized that while he treasures his deep friendship with Jim, he’s come to desire more. He sets out to tell Jim of his feelings, but finds the task... considerably more difficult than he'd first imagined it to be."
(spock is in love with jim. all that's left is to tell him. unfortunately, jim's having a little bit of trouble getting that through his head, so spock has to figure out how to say it in human terms. it's. it's great, go read it. spock catches him two fish and literally sweeps him off his feet, sarek quotes spice girls, and. just read it, please. i promise you won't regret it)
- love is an affliction by WerewolvesAreReal
WC: 5k / Rating: Teen / Status: Complete / Relationship: Spirk, McSpirk / Genre: Crack, Humor
Summary: "“A condition – you're sick? With spontaneous flowers? How do I get rid of them?”
“You do not."
(Or: Hanahaki disease is not fatal, but it is exclusive to Vulcans. Honestly, death would be more dignified.)"
(DROP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO READ THIS RIGHT NOW. it's the funniest fucking fic on the entire internet, and i love it with a passion. all of the author's stuff is excellent, especially their fic Ni'Var, but this one lives rent free in my head and i love it beyond words)
- Compromises (The Bridge Between) by purpleeyesandbowties
WC: 30k / Rating: Teen / Status: Complete / Relationship: Spock & OC, Spirk / Genre: Character Study, Coming of Age, Self-discovery
Summary: "There were only three Vulcans at Starfleet Academy. One was a professor. The other was a third year science student, finishing up two credits before a mid-year graduation. The last was T'rin. There had been other Vulcans in the past, but all had graduated before T'rin enrolled. They were all Science track. T'rin was Command track. Her advisor, S'chn T’gai Spock, recommended she enroll in Introduction to Vulcan: Language, History, and Culture, co-taught by himself and a Professor James Kirk.
In which there are cats, classes, compromises, and an unacceptable number of highly emotional conversations.
(i have a fuckin huge soft spot for old married spirk, but that aside, t'rin is the best y'all. i love her so much. she's so cool)
AOS:
- Graduate Vulcan For Fun And Profit by @lazulisong
WC: 15k / Rating: Teen / Status: Complete / Relationship: Jim & and OC, Spirk / Genre: Humor, Character Study
Summary: "It really does take a village to raise a Jim.
The members of the Kelvin's crew watch over Jim as much as he lets them."
(hhhhh this fic made me feel so many things. the characters are written so well and the structure of the writing is so cool. everything by lazulisong is excellent but this fic in particular is my favorite)
- Sacra Familiae series by Joules Mer
WC: 22k / Rating: Teen / Status: Complete / Relationship: McKirk, Pike/Boyce / Genre: Character Study, Relationship Study, Slice of Life, Recovery
Summary: "It makes the skin on the back of his neck prickle— the strangeness of it. There’s a lassitude in his limbs and a tightness in his chest and as a confused shock of jumbled memories and pain come back Chris hears a heart monitor give a little blip of alarm and can’t help but wonder, Am I dead?"
(this series contains some of my favorite pile fics ever. it manages to capture his character so well and the relationships in it feel so fleshed out despite the fact that it's fairly short as a series. it's sweet and a little sad and it made me cry a bit)
- hexagons impromptu trek week 2k21 series by @hexagon
WC: 23k / Rating: Teen / Status: Complete / Relationship: Pike & Kirk, QPL McKirk / Genre: Character Study, Slice of Life
Summary: “"You’ve been so brave, James,” he whispers, and Jim lets out the slightest exhale of shock, his mouth falling open.
or: captaincies and self-doubts and chris finally getting to tell jim he's proud of him"
(this is, hands down, my favorite st slice of life fic. no contest. the dynamic between pike and jim is. indescribable, but it did make me cry quite a bit. the relationship between mccoy and kirk is happy dance worthy, and i don't say that lightly)
- Everything That Disappears by @sagesiren
WC: 20k / Rating: M / Status: Complete / Relationship: McSpirk / Genre: Character Study, Relationship Study, Slice of Life, Falling in Love
Summary: "Jim dropped his duffel and grinned at him. “You’re still calling me ‘kid,’ even though you have a kid now? I love the hair, by the way,” he said, coming over and running a hand through it before turning, smiling down at Jo in the high chair. “This her?”
“No, she’s the decoy kid. I’m hiding the other toddler somewhere else,” Leonard said, rolling his eyes at him.
Or, the one where Leonard is fresh out of gender affirmation surgery, given custody of the daughter he didn't know he had, and in an open relationship with Jim where they don't tell each other anything about their partners."
(ahhhh!!! this fic. just. all of it. jo is such a realistic baby, which is a weird holdup, but i hate when kids are talking dolls instead of the tiny little dumpster fires they are in real life. bones is written delightfully well, the twist at the end is so good and all around an excellent fic)
- VaYehi series by @trekkele
WC: 10k / Rating: Gen / Status: Complete / Relationship: Jim & the bridge crew, Jim & Spock / Genre: Character Study, Slice of Life
Summary: "Every starship Captain has their quirks.
This is less about Kirks, and more about what lies at the heart of it.
In which Jim has his secrets, McCoy is overprotective, the crew learns something new, and Spock is curious. Of course he is."
(these are my absolute favorite jewish trek fics ever. the bridge scene in the first one lives rent free in my head and i actually spent all of wednesday afternoon drawing it instead of studying for midterms. i love the examination of jim's relationship with his judiasm–how he's proud of it but scared of people knowing. it really touched a thread in my heart)

January
My year truly started with a bang. I published the first chapter of Hic sunt dracones on January 16th, and was immediately blown away by the wave of positive feedback. I was still very new to the fandom, had just gotten back into writing after a 15yr break, and had never dreamed of this sort of reaction. I didn't know it then, of course, but HSD would go on to become my fic of the year and probably the one I'm best known for. 🐉❤️
February
Didn’t publish anything new, but continued working on my WIPs and signed up for the @steddiebang
March
Finished Someone who cares and got a bunch of lovely comments. I had been writing it since October 2022, publishing it since early December. The first-ever fic I finished, the first I ever shared publicly, the one that rekindled my passion for writing, and still one I'm immensely proud of. 👪❤️
Started working on my BB fic (You got me) in the palm of your hand
April
Published See you in a crown, which got over 700 hits in the first 24 hours. Feral bathroom mirror sex with added tiara really seemed to do it for a lot of ppl. 🤣💕
May
Didn’t publish anything new, but was hella busy with my WIPs.
June
Published Someone like you, a bonus chapter to Someone who cares.
Also trembled my way through the BB claims weekend and ended up with not one, but two lovely artists, @xgumiho and @peachypurr. 💕
July
Finished Hic sunt dracones (on the day of the big AO3 blackout no less), cried over the lovely comments and the fucking FANART
Wrote my first microfic for the @steddiemicrofic challenge, found it sooo hard. 🤣
Started writing Just add water and Possession
August
Published Just add water, which was such a feel-good fic for me. I loved writing it, it always put me in a good mood. 🧜‍♂️❤️
September
Published the first chapter of Possession 🦇
Also wrote three Microfics for the “charm” prompt ✨️
October:
Published (You got me) in the palm of your hand throughout the month. The feedback was lovely, and so many ppl told me how they remembered me from the claims sheets! 🔮
Finished Just add water. Was honestly sad to let it go, even though I only worked on it for a little more than 2 months.
November:
Continued working on Possession
Also wrote a lot for the @steddieholidaydrabbles and developed the first ideas for a longer fic and art project based on Blast to the past/The kings's gift together with @house-of-the-moving-image
December
Published Let me be good to you, a sequel to See you in a crown
Published the holiday drabbles, which was such fun! ❄️❤️ Ended up with exactly 50 published works for 2023, wow!!
Next year:
I'll Finish Possession some time in March or April if everything goes according to plan
I've got two fics for the ST Reverse Big Bang coming up in March, which are keeping me very busy rn
Turn Blast to the Past into a chaptered fic and art project, together with @house-of-the-moving-image
I'll also probably hit 1k followers on tumblr early this year and have something special planned, so stay tuned! 🥰

i need to know about all of these fics NOW (no pressure take your time ofc ofc)
Wrath of a Captain
Moment of Rest (a Decade Too Late)
Hitmen!Demon bros AU
Galand exposes Meliodas' demon secret
How to Demon (Yes, Captain, This is Really Necessary)
Meliodas and the Kids AU #1
also never realized how silly i name my documents till now 😭😭😭‼️‼️‼️
Ahh hearing you excited about all these is making me excited to write them again (hoping to get back to writing more soon - october was a mess and a half :( but I have 2 whumptober fics that I almost finished that should maybe might be posted soon?)
Okay so...
Wrath of a Captain
Fun fact about this one is that it was one of (possibly the) first nnt fic ideas I wrote down when I first got into the fandom. Tho in what - 1-1,5 years? - I've still barely started writing it (oops). But not for lack of interest! I'm still excited about this one, I just haven't been able to specify the scenario enough to start writing (I keep getting distracted by other fic ideas lol).
To summarize the idea in three words: Protective Captain Meliodas.
And here's a rough summary I wrote for myself:
The Seven Deadly sins were a well-known force only fools would take lightly. Though faced with a captain that was small and short, and seemed the complete opposite of wrath itself, it was easy to underestimate him. But just because the captain didn't get angry, didn't mean he never got close. Especially if one were foolish enough to dare attack his team.
A Moment of Rest (a Decade Too Late)
This is a fic I started this summer and then kinda forgot about (oh the art of finishing a fic before moving on to the next one). It takes place after the Capital of the Dead arc and deals with the aftermath of Sins being split-up for 10 years from King's perspective. Now, I can't remember, if it originally was supposed to be "Meliodas was alone for 10 years" angst or "Meliodas was alone for 10 years and demons don't do well in isolation" angst, but it's probably gonna end up being the second one now. Which means the rest of the Sins, while not knowing Meliodas' full story, knows he is a demon and how these past 10 years would have affected him because of it.
Here's a little sneak peek:
The princess had already retired into the Boar Hat, while Ban had simply settled for grabbing Meliodas and sprawling out on the ground. He wasn’t sleeping. His ease was a facade at best. King knew that he too was plagued by these past ten years, and the guilt they brought. It had never been supposed to go this far… Meliodas seemed dazed. A state hopefully only brought forth by the lull of sleep slowly claiming him. He wasn’t quite asleep yet though. To an outsider he might have seemed to be, but King knew him better. His guard was still firmly up, although slowly but surely being picked apart by Ban’s hand repeatedly running through his hair. Meliodas was curled up tighter than he normally would, yet at the same time more relaxed than King had seen him since before they were framed. His head was neatly tucked on top of Ban’s chest. Ear over his heart, no doubt. He’d always had a particular fondness of that, their captain. Easily soothed by the beat of a heart – by the beat of their hearts at least.
Hitmen!Demon bros AU
Oooh this one. thiiiis one! I'm still mostly in the planning stage for this one, but I can't wait until I get to share the full thing with you all. Like the name suggests, it's a modern (possibly slight futuristic) AU where the DK raised his sons as hitmen. It's gonna be a multichapter fic (probably my longest wip yet) and there will be lots of demon bros angst!
Fun fact, while the I had thought about this AU a bit, I wasn't necessarily planning on writing it at first. Then my mind provided me with this super angsty demon bros scene and an awful chapter cliffhanger, and well, now I'm invested. I need to know how this story ends. (If this sounds familiar, I did mention this once before).
Anyway, I have written the first 300-something words, setting up the angst before a jump back in time, so here's a sneak peek:
Perhaps one of the most defining moments in Meliodas’ life happened on January 29th the year he was turning 26. The day Meliodas found himself on a rooftop staring down his own little brother, a raised gun in both their hands aimed at each other. The only sound was the falling rain as the world itself seemed to hold its breath waiting for who would make the first move. At that moment, Meliodas had thought he had known exactly how the day would end. He had known it in the calculating part of his mind that he never could quite shut off, and had felt it in his heart that seemed to break every time he saw his little brother. He had thought he knew what would happen. He had been wrong. Everybody has a choice, but sometimes it doesn’t matter what you chose.
Galand exposes Meliodas' demon secret
Now this one I've shared a bit about before - partly to complain about my (still going strong) habit of stopping my writing in the middle of a sentence. Sadly, I haven't really made any progress since then. Mostly because I can't remember where tf the story was supposed to go (did I even have a plan?? I found the story aka the snippet of writing in a school notebook I hadn't used for months, so who knows).
Anyway! What I do know is that Galand fucks everything up on purpose, and is the one to reveal Meliodas' demon secret to the rest of the Sins. How the story continues from there, well, I'll figure that out eventually. For now, the last part of the fic looks like this:
It had all started with a confrontation with one of the Ten Commandments. Galand of Truth. He hadn’t even seemed to be looking for a fight – not in that moment anyway – King had noticed. He’d just been there to stir up trouble. Always playing games as usual¸ Meliodas had said. Well, games or not, Galand really had caused trouble. The demon had been quick to pick up on the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins’ surprise that Meliodas seemed to know him personally, and then deduced...DEDUCED WHAT??
How to Demon (Yes, Captain, This is Really Necessary)
This is actually a request/fic idea I got from a reader on ao3. It's also mostly still in the planning stage, having taken a backseat to my Febuwhump fic. But the idea is basically Melin giving a lesson on demons to the Sins with the (reluctant) aid of Meliodas. Or in other words, Merlin is sick of being (almost) the only one who knows how to keep Mel alive and will make it everybody's probably whether they want to or not. It'll also take place in the same AU as The Heat of the Storm (which means more of my demon thermoregulation, yay! - oh, actually, sidenote: I'm working on a post about that hc).
So, we'll have random demon lore/headcanons/stuff, some humor, and, of course, angst (probably more angst than should come from this otherwise humorous idea).
Meliodas and the Kids AU #1
The first of (at least) three fics taking place in the Meliodas and the Kids AU (aka Meliodas Adopts the Sins). In this AU, instead of the Sins becoming knights together way down the line, Meliodas ends up adopting/taking them in as kids* over the years.
Now, I use the term kids loosely here since neither King nor Gowther will actually be kids in the normal sense. But Gowther will be on his own for the first time and also still new to the world, and King, well, I still got some ideas for his relationship with Mel (and also, he is still significantly younger than Mel, so I say he still counts as his kid).
This first fic will consist of six chapters (one for each "kid"), exploring how Meliodas ended up taking them all in, and the dynamics of this mismatched little family (mostly the kids relationships' with Mel).
(Also Elizabeth is probably gonna be dead-dead in this AU).
Here's a sneak peek from the first (Merlin's) chapter:
When you find yourself stuck in time, it’s good to set up some rules for yourself, unless you want to lose yourself to madness. Meliodas didn’t have the luxury for madness. Madness was not going to solve anything. He would still be stuck here, unaging and undying, without an end in sight. Submitting to madness would also be admitting that the only purpose his life had left was suffering. An eternity alone in the human realm as a punishment for his crimes against the Demon King. His father was a huge asshole, okay? Meliodas was not about to give him the satisfaction of watching him break. So, he made some rules. The most important one was: do not get attached. [some other stuff not included in this sneak peek] Do not get attached. It was simple and important – and Meliodas had broken the rule before he had even made it.
(also I love your wip titles XD and will definitely send an ask for some ramblings of your own - but that will have to wait, I've got an 8am lecture in less than 7 hours and need to get some sleep, so Imma put a to be continued on the wip talk for now)

Fic author interview! I was tagged by the fantastic @glorious-spoon. thanks, this was so fun!!
No-pressure tagging: @afincf-tirwer @shadaras @undead-robins @tka-trashfire @hils79, @nyelung, @vampirenaomi, @prince-of-elsinore
How many works do you have on AO3?
As of yesterday, 202!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
678,560 words. which i have mixed feelings about because. i'm proud i've managed to write so much but at the same time, i've been at this for over 10 years i wish the number was higher for all that time.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Things Best Kept Between Three People (Leverage, Eliot/Parker/Hardison) - 1,389 kudos
Escalation of Commitment - (Leverage, Eliot/Parker/Hardison) - 1,360 kudos
I say goodbye but mean hello - (Leverage, Eliot/Parker/Hardison) - 1,283 kudos
This is the Place Where I Sit - (Leverage, Eliot/Parker/Hardison) - 1,006 kudos
In Possession Of - (Leverage/Supernatural crossover) - 715 kudos
looking at these fics, it's very obvious that another way of asking this question is: "what's the most popular ship you've written." though i am very amused that an actual crossover made the top 5, considering how deeply those have fallen out of favor in the past twenty years.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try my best! some years i am better at it than other. but even if i'm in a low energy moment, i appreciate every single comment <3
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
The leverage theme continues, apparently.
Just One Last Time (Leverage with Highlander elements. Eliot is immortal. Parker and Hardison are not).
I'm not usually a sad ending person but every one in a while I indulge.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Basically all of them lol. But I guess I'll say that ghost story fic because it got really sad before the happy ending.
This is not a ghost story (The King's Avatar, yuhuang, magical realism)
7. Do you write crossovers?
Yes! They are my original fandom love and such a wonderful self-indulgence. I should try to write more of them in 2024.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not on a fic, but I got plenty for my silly ramblings back in the shadowhunters fandom, sadly.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes! yay smut. I prefer mine with some kind of kink in order to hold my interest. (not that i don't enjoy non-kinky smut but when i do i tend to enjoy it for the emotional payoff rather than the sex itself)
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I am aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! How cool is that!? Love fandom translators and the amazing work they do <3
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. I don't think co-writing is a thing that I would enjoy. Trying to merge my writing style with someone else sounds stressful and also i think i might be too much of a control freak for that kind of collab.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Whatever my ship of the moment is!
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I'm pleased that all my big recent wips have been finished! I've been working on a little "troubling rain is cursed" fic for a couple years now. it's only a few thousand words long so not sure it qualifies for wip status, but i would like to finish it so I can post it!
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think characterization and silly jokes.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Description. Despite my efforts I will never be one of those beautiful prose writers.
I think of my style as very "what you see is what you get" and I consider that to be both a strength and a weakness.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
It's a hard no almost 100% of the time. And something I will likely use the back-button on.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
My first posted fic was hetalia (germancest) and I had such a wonderful time in that fandom!
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Still really want to try and wrangle my onmyoji ot3 ficlet thing.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written
That question is cheating! But I'll go with my de-aged ywz fic because I never thought I could write a story over 10k words and I'm still very proud that I managed something nearly 70k!
Means of Transportation (The King's Avatar, yuhuang, de-aged ywz)

Now that it's the new year and I have time to think again, I'm taking @tinygigas and @subzeroparade up on the Writing Review open tag. This was a big year for me, since it was the first time in over a decade I actually published fics on a site! I'm quite proud of all my progress creatively in 2023, and I'm looking forward to what 2024 has in store.
Words and Fics
11,542 words spread over 4 published fics, all Bloodborne
3 completed fics
1 ongoing multichapter
2 current WIPS
3 WIP chapters
1 planned fic I have yet to start
Ships
Technically I've only published for Ludwig/Laurence
Although there are a multitude of implied ships in my other fics including Gehrman/Laurence, Micolash/Laurence, Brador/Laurence, and Ludwig/Simon because I'm an unashamed multishipper.
Top Fic by Kudos
Communion (M) with 18 kudos
Top Fic by Hits
Still Communion (M) with 267 hits
Fandom Events
I took part in a fic/beta workshop hosted by a friend which was delightful, full of amazing art, and very helpful, the result of which was Crematorium (T).
Upcoming Projects
I will finish Ouroboros of Modernity (T), the silly mundane modern au my friends and I came up with.
I have three more short fics to follow the same timeline as my other oneshots, so look forward to those!
Writing Reflection
This past year was tumultuous to say the least, but I had more creative energy during it than I have since at least 2015, and more importantly, I've met a wonderful group of friends that have been encouraging and kind and have been endless sources of inspiration. I'm beyond pleased with my progress this year, and I'm especially proud of my last work of 2023, Charade (M), which might be the best piece I've ever written and is a tribute to the two biggest brainrotting influences I've had this year.
I hope I can continue to create in 2024 for Bloodborne and other fandoms I love as well. Here's to another year!
