I’m trying to start a collection of every xenofiction book from a cats POV that I can find!! this is my criteria list:
older middle-grade and up fiction stories (maybe some exceptions for children's books if I really like them)
Mostly or only cat POV, not stories about people with cat sidekicks
about actual cats, not a human that shapeshifts into a cat, nor cat-like two-legged humanoids
Focusing on domestic cats and maybe small wild cats, not big cats
It doesn’t have to be a traditionally published book, but it does have to be something completed that I can buy a copy of
Graphic novels count!

Seeing people talking about how fanon ruined MC for them in the tags of my asks is just really sad to me. Because they're absolutely right. Fanon MC is not even anywhere close to canon. The dynamic that people claim to love so much has become distorted and twisted so much that you can barely recognize it. I completely understand dreading MC episodes, not because of anything that will happen on screen, but because of how people will react off screen. The ways they will twist canon to suit their own image of what they think the ship is or should be, then berate others for "getting it wrong," but it isn't what they think at all. I totally understand and empathize with that.
Canon MC is great. Evillustrator made me fall in love with it. Fandom is 100% responsible for why that love died. It's 100% responsible for why I hardly ever share MC art or write MC stories. Because as someone who loves Ladrien and wants to create Ladrien content, I feel like I can't do both because when I've done so in the past, my comments get flooded with "Ladrien is so boring. MC for lyfe!!" "When are you gonna include MC in this story?" (It's literally tagged ladrien) "idk what it is but I just don't like ladrien lol. MC is my favorite side." "Sorry I just don't like Ladrien it's just so 🤢🤢🤢 I prefer MC"
Even when I've written MC in the past, if I write strictly platonic MC (what I prefer), someone inevitably asks when I'm going to make it romantic as if that's the standard expectation. For a side that "doesn't have to be pressured by feelings for each other" people sure do like making them have feelings for each other.
There is no way to filter which MC stans follow your content. I feel like if I post a lot of MC stuff or write MC fic that the ladrien hating shitheads will show up regardless of how obvious I make it that I like it and post about it. The only way I've found to keep them off this blog is just to not post MC and scream loudly about how great Ladrien is every week. And I think that's really sad. Because I have several ideas for stuff, but I genuinely dread going back to that and having my ladrien works flooded with people telling me they don't like it. My blocklist is filled with Ladrien antis, yall. But every time I go into the tag, I still find new ones. I honestly cannot wait for the reveal. At this point I can't wait for the love square to dissolve, so people can remember that they're the same people and shut the hell up.
