story of us

pairing: suna x reader

the story of ur relationship <3; alternatively (more) dating sunarin headcanons but this time is somewhat of an order and talks good and bad 2K+ worth lol

a/n: i had more planned but half of these have been sitting in my notes for months and its kinda fucking long already bc he lives rent free!!!

warnings: uh the usual aged up (in ur 20s time skip type beat), language, yeah

Meeting

Now when y’all met suna was not looking to love at all. That man was just living his life and so where you. The two of you pretty much meet through komori. You’re a friend and it’s his birthday so him and a few of his friends go out for drinks bc why not. Young hot pretty financially stable v-ball players. Nah no ones there for any type of hookups literally just there celebrating a great guy.

They rent out a section at a relatively nice bar tbh. Not the cheapest and you can actually hear conversation. But also not a super expensive one where the patrons are middle aged with jazz music and the occasional track to relive “youth.” Komori’s a sweetie and will come outside to get you when you text that you’re there. You’ve met washio and ofc sakusa Before so you greet them casually then you turn and there’s Suna and a few others you haven’t met.

That greeting isn’t anything special I promise. Just “hey I’m so and so” and vice versa. It’s one of those meetings where you just think “he’s cute” but it’s such a fleeting thought. Y’all don’t even really talk that first night tbh. At the next practice Suna mentions offhandedly that he didn’t know komori was dating someone and komori is like: huh? Yeah sorry. I love (Y/N) and all but were just friends. Suna just shrugs not really caring to be honest until Komori just asks what did he think of you.

“Don’t really remember much man. Seemed cool though” he didn’t think he’d really see you again. Yeah you were close enough to have been at Komori’s birthday but if that was his first time ever meeting you, he figured you weren’t from around there are present very much. Yeah he was wrong.

Suddenly you were on Komori’s snap story more often, or maybe he’d just been noticing more. Too bad he couldn’t even remember your name 💀. Then it turned into you occasionally popping up where he was. He’d been told your name at least 5 times already but wouldn’t remember it the next day. Whenever he’d see you again he’d get a strained look like: “what is this mf name again” just laugh and tell him again bby.

That changed at some random house party by another mutual friend you two apparently had? You two were the only people just around the fire pit trying to catch some warmth in the chilly night. He’s probably just on his phone head bobbing his head to the muffled music from inside. And you’re just like “remember my name yet?” All jokingly. This sparks the tiniest bit of interest in him and he lets out a low chuckle and just admits “not at all.” I also feel like this is the first time he really looks at you and he’s like 🤨, wait you’re actually kinda cute.

That night y’all just kinda talk and vibe. The conversation comes easy as you two jump back and forth from talking about the music playing to sneakers which he brings up to stuff that you like. He’s actually really easy to talk to. So easy that u can forget about him not remembering your name despite meeting several times. You mention that you’d hung around komori before while they were gaming and that he seemed pretty cool. That leads him to asking “how do you know him anyways?”

“I used to date Sakusa”

Mentally he’s just like— ‘yeah I’m not getting involved in this. Time to go.’ Until you just start laughing.

“I’m kidding. He’s not really my type. We met after being paired together for a project in school.”

The two of you spend quite a bit of time just talking that night until you are joined again by some friends and it’s deadass like y’all weren’t just talking for almost an hour straight.

Getting Together

The process of getting together is like a cat and mouse game. You two start getting closer than friends and then something happens and you’re not talking for weeks. Whether it be life just getting busy, and then someone ending up on some random tinder date or so be it. Definitely one of those things were somehow someway y’all end up just hanging on one of your couches watching a movie. At some point there’s definitely a hint of sexual tension but neither of y’all act on it (later on you find on his finsta that he used to post several “i wont you 😔” memes Folks can’t tell if hes joking or not (hes not))

You probably gotta tell that man you like him so if that ain’t you I’m sorry. Y’all not dating 😹. It’s something casual, y’all going to pick up some snacks for a movie night and why this mf keep looking at you out the side of his eyes instead of the road. You def texting the groupchat asking if you should confess. They tell you to boss up and just do it baby.

You literally end up confessing in that parking lot. Like right when he shuts the car off and starts swinging his keys on his finger and you kinda just blurt “I like you. Like like you.” He just kinda nods before his eyes widen. “Wait are you fr?” Like no you’re joking tf. It gets a lil awkward so you just go to get out the car and he’s like “I like like you too.”

I definitely don’t think either of you ever officially asked the other out it’s just at some point the understanding that you two are a couple. Like when you’re hanging out just you two hes more touchy, and then y’all start kissing and holding hands at some point. Then when you’re with friends he almost exclusively sits next to you and your friends notice the whispers in one another’s ears at the loud bar that seem just a hint too intimate for ppl who are just friends. Then y’all start arriving and leaving places together and people just at some point get the message (it’s later confirmed by you tweeting some shit like: I hate Rin why is that mf my boyfriend)

As far as anniversaries y’all draw straws to pick a day in the ballpark of the time y’all both think you became official. That’s the day you stick with even if it’s not true.

Relationship Flaws

A fault in the relationship is sunas kinda poor communication when it comes to things that matter. How he feels. Arguments. Love sure as hell don’t come east with anyone but when your partner won’t let you in? Yeah that’s like hell. That’s something you struggle with. And then on your end, it’s the impatience with him not letting you in. You try to wrongfully rush it.

There’s definitely been arguments that stem from him just being upset about something unrelated to the relationship then coming to you for comfort without actually telling you what’s wrong. He kinda just wants to lay with his head on his chest but at some point that’s not enough. Y’all are in a relationship and should be able to talk about your bad days too.

You’re not innocent in this issue either because sometimes it comes off too pushy. Yes it’s from a place of care but sometimes that silent comfort is necessary. The walls will break in due time and y’all both know that deep in the back of your minds But then there’s a part that’s like— yeah we can’t let this become the norm

“Rin, can you please talk to me”

He will have literally told you “whatever” and that he “can’t deal with this rn” several times as he just shrugs and is like yeah “I’m gonna just go home. I’ll text you later” with an awkward ass pat on your shoulder if it really ruined his mood. If he’s leaving before he gets super upset and uncomfortable just some half assed kiss in your cheek

Another thing is I feel like he could be passive aggressive and let’s be real other folks doing it causes you to do it to. Y’all probably drag eachother on your finstas where you can both see it lol

But when it comes to making up he cracks first and apologizes when he started it. Or as y’all get more comfy with communication. If it’s not anything major he’ll just hit you with a text like “I’m bored come hang”

More Relationship Things

I feel like he love/hates driving. Likes the ride not always driving though. So if you ever proposed a late night drive he’d be down (if you offer to drive). He does let y’all take his car though. He reclines the seat pretty far back. Alternates between just closing his eyes vibing w/ the music or kinda just looking at you (he the type of bf that makes u nervous no matter how long y’all been together)The way he looks at you makes you nervous cause that man is fine as hell and you can just feel his eyes on you.

He films you on Snapchat and sends the video to you like “you look hot”

If he’s not ‘resting his eyes’ he’s mumbling along to the music because he has the aux. if y’all music tastes are different he occasionally throws in something you really like bc he likes how you perk up at one of your fav songs

Moving on. Y’all dap eachother up after s3x because it’s “modern romance” (boy stfu). You two came up with a sex playlist together and it’s on both of your phones. Sometimes one of you will add a troll song that the other doesn’t know and put it in the lineup. (Stole my heart by 1D has definitely played before and you were practically in tears laughing at his reaction. That was one of those songs he was like ‘yeah alright i think we’re done).

At some point you two develop your own handshake and it’s cute. Whenever either of you have to travel without the other that’s always the last thing you do before you leave eachother. There’s vids of your friends daring y’all to do your elaborate ass handshake drunk and doesn’t matter what’s in your system, you both know it like the back of your hand.

I think he values quality time a lot so there’s so many nights where you’re both just chilling in his room just doing your own things. He could just be at his desk watching some game highlights and you’re just doing hw on his bed with your own earbuds in work all spread out and he’s content. He’s also attentive so if he calculates that you’ve been working too long he’ll just take ur earbud like “hey let’s go get something to eat.”

People definitely think he’s the lazy one in the relationship but it’s 100% not true. Like stated above, he’s very attentive and can pretty much gauge how you’re feeling in the blink of an eye. He knows when you need alone time but won’t go without reassuring you that he’s here whenever you’re ready. When you do just need him he’s there without a second thought. If you’re more touchy he’ll have your head in his lap his arm running up and down your as you tell him what’s wrong. He knows when to joke about a minor inconvenience and over the course of your relationship knows when to cut the jokes and be serious with you.

He’d never admit it but he knows your coffee order by heart (he keeps up his image my asking wtf do you get everytime. Just let him LOL). He the type to peek at what you plan on wearing and ‘accidentally’ color coordinate then pull some shit like “why are you copying me”

Y’all def shit talk together. See someone doing something completely out of pocket in public— straight to ur phones you go (pack it up shade room). To the public it just looks like you aren’t paying any attention to one another on your dates but y’all are. Just over the phone so u don’t piss off ur target 😌

Y’all are very comfy in your relationship that you just say stuff. Y’all don’t even think.

When you two finally move in together it’s almost like how your relationship starts. Slowly more and more spares of stuff for you end up at his. He does sorta make the move near the end of your lease and is just like “you’re here more than me anyways.” (hes nervous but swears he’s not. Bby you’re literally shaking). Him moving you in is like hell. This mf takes sooooo long to help with boxes. Picks up 1 then sits for like 15 minutes. You ask for help the first few times and he’s just like “I got you” while continuing to scroll his phone.

Sleepy Shoulder kisses in the mornings. Only form a greeting you get but it’s ok

this is like my 100th dating suna hc and im still going this is SICK. it was so hard to not drop old refs bc i still believe in them 100% yes i do!!!!

You had assumed that one day you’d become used to being married to one of the members of Queen. You would become numb to it, nothing surprising you or throwing you off. The fans, the parties, the tours...the fact that practically everyone in the world knew who your husband was. It would all become routine for you.

But then you went to Live Aid.

The size of the crowd alone shocked you. You knew just based on the lineup for the event and the fact that it was being held in Wembley Stadium that Live Aid was a huge event. But you didn’t realize just how huge.

You had held Brian’s hand tightly as the lot of you were escorted through backstage areas and cramped hallways, weaving through crew members and people with badges who seemed important. As someone who had been along for the ride for quite a few Queen tours, you were somehow extremely overwhelmed. But Brian’s tight grip on your hand, offering comforting squeezes every once in a while kept you grounded.

Eventually, Brian was swept away, needed to answer reporter questions or shake hands with music industry heads. You had just begun to feel a little lost when an arm slid around your shoulder.

“You look positively stressed, love,” Crystal’s voice sounded in your ear, the familiar timbre relaxing you a bit.

“It’s a lot to take in,” you replied, wrapping an arm around his waist for a side hug as the two of you watched the scene before you.

“Well, I’ll keep an eye on you, Mrs. May. Make sure you don’t get swept up in the craziness,” Crystal declared with a nudge to your ribs. You chuckled at the moniker, giving the techie a playful shove.

You knew he meant it. Crystal had somewhat taken you under his wing during your first Queen tour a few years back. Brian, only your boyfriend then, had asked you to join the group on the American leg of the News of the World tour, claiming he couldn’t bear to separated from you for an entire month and a half. Crystal had recognized the lost look in your eyes even back then as you experienced what it was like to go on tour with a rock band. The two of you had struck up an unlikely friendship, keeping each other entertained on bus rides while the boys caught up on much-needed sleep.

An hour later Brian grabbed your hand once again, bringing it to his lips for a soft kiss before announcing that him and Roger wanted to go watch some of the performances.

And that’s how you found yourself sitting in the VIP section of the stadium, seated between Brian and Chris. Had you been a few years less experienced, you may have been shocked when David Bowie took the seat next to Chris, offering you and the boys a handshake greeting. But you had had the pleasure of meeting Bowie a few years back.

No, the thing that made your eyes go wide with shock was when you realized that Princess Diana and Prince Charles of Wales were sitting right in front of you. Maybe a yard away.

Crystal noticed your reaction right away, offering a small chuckle and a loving head shake in response. He leaned closer to you, signaling you to do the same.

“I’ve got a bet for you,” he whispered, and you rolled your eyes. Somehow along the way, bets between you and Crystal had become commonplace. The two of you had bet on arguments between the band members, card games between roadies, and to your shame, you once even bet on how long one of Roger’s flings would last.

“Lay it on me, Taylor.”

“I bet you can’t get Brian all hot and bothered in front of Princess Di,” he responded. You let out a quick burst of laughter before clapping a hand on your mouth. Brian shot you a confused look that you returned with a nod towards Crystal. He immediately understood, knowing Crystal’s antics full well, and he turned his attention back to the performance.

“That’s not a bet, that’s just torture!” you argued. “And besides, you know I’d win.”

“Fine, twenty quid if you get him flustered enough to excuse himself.”

“I’m not doing that!”

“But it’ll be fun!”

He had a point. You did get a bit of satisfaction from reducing Brian to a needy mess. But you usually only pulled the trick of out of your pocket if he hadn’t been giving you enough attention lately.

But the more you thought about it, the more excited the prospect of a needy Brian made you. Get him all riled up and then have a quick and dirty fuck backstage before he performed for thousands of people? The idea was definitely intriguing.

“Fifty quid,” you countered, the gears in your head already turning. That earned you another chuckle from Crystal before he held a hand out to you.

“Deal.” The two of you sealed the exchange with a quick handshake.

Then you got to work.

An innocent smile on your face, you turned to Brian, tapping him gently on the shoulder to get his attention before leaning in close to his ear.

“Briii,” you murmured, laying a hand on his knee. He smiled at your show of affection, but his focus remained on the stage before him. “You know what I’m thinking about?” He hummed questioningly, still not giving you his full attention. “I’m thinking about the Hot Space tour.”

You let your statement simmer and you watched Brian’s eyebrows furrow in confusion as he tried to work out what you were referring to.

“Remember that time you were in a mood, and during one of Roger’s drum solos I pulled you into a closet and went down on you?” You slightly shifted your hand an inch higher on Brian’s thigh as you felt him tense next to you. But his eyes didn’t stray from the concert being performed. So you continued.

“And then after the show as a thank you, you took me back the hotel and absolutely destroyed me with your tongue?” An inch higher. You heard him let out a shaky breath before leaning closer to you.

“Darling, what are you doing?”

“I was so wet for you that night. You make me so wet, Bri,” you practically purred into his ear. Another inch higher; you were almost mid-thigh. You began to caress the fabric of his slacks with your thumb, tracing small circles. Brian shifted in his seat slightly, but the man was determined to watch the performers.

“If only Roger had a long drum solo in your set later tonight,” you continued. “We could recreate that. Licking every inch of you before I take you into my mouth completely. Maybe even let you take control. Let you fuck my mouth.” Another inch. You could see Brian was sweating now, and you knew it had nothing to do with the weather. Your eyes flicked over to Crystal, who was watching the band’s performance with a knowing smirk.

“Or maybe instead you can just fuck me. Push me up against the wall, wrap my legs around you can let you plow me until I’m a whimpering mess,” you whispered, slurring your words slightly. Brian’s cheeks were beet-red. “You always make me come so hard.” You shifted your hand another inch higher, but this time Brian’s long fingers wrapped around your wrist. And for the first time since you began your game, he turned to look at you.

“Love,” he whimpered, almost desperately. You fluttered your eyelashes innocently, a soft smile on your face.

“Yes, dear?”

His eyes flashed downward briefly, and you followed his glance. A prominent bulge had formed in his trousers. You gazed back up at Brian, your guiltless grin fading into a knowing smirk.

“Would you like some help with that, Bri?”

In a flash, Brian got to his feet, practically yanking you with him. You knew he was probably thankful he had elected to wear loose-fitting pants that day.

“We’re going to grab something to eat,” he announced, his voice a bit shaky. Roger’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked up at the tall man standing next to him.

“We just ate like an hour ago,” he revealed. You couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Well, I’m hungry again,” Brian snapped back quickly. I’m sure you are, you thought to yourself. Brian’s hand landed on the small of your back, urging you to start sliding past the seated audience members.

As you scooted past Crystal, he discreetly whipped out a fifty-pound note and held it out for you with a grin. You pocketed it and kept moving, past David Bowie and the other crowd members. Once the two of you finally made it to the aisle, Brian gripped your hand tight, pulling you along as he sped towards a bathroom. You could barely keep up; Brian’s long legs giving him an advantage.

“So, you’re hungry, huh, Bri?” you teased as you picked up the pace to walk in-line with him. Then in one swift movement, you were pulled through a doorway and spun around, your back pressing into the door to close it.

“I think you know exactly what I’m hungry for, you little minx.”

All of the performances are over! Thank you for your support!

It was really fun!

This times Harocon, for the opening day Oda Sakura-chan was absent, so first off the 10 of us started,

After all the 11 of us together, starting again with our feelings tightening,

the 15th generation also performing with us... The moment we showed off the appearance of the 14 member lineup, it felt like we were restarting,

There were a lot of starts huh

there was a lot to stack in 1 performance but, I realized in particular the power from the last Nakano Sun Plaza performance,

that is, since its the last... it wasn't that I was just in a fighting spirit, it was really purely fun,

the last performance too,

I'm glad it felt super good

Standing on the Harocon stage, it seems like it was the first time being able to have an interaction like that

before we had done a shuffle together but, (HEY! Mahiru no Shinkirou) At that time we hadn't really talken togther at all yet←

With this times shuffle units, the song I got to sing was

when the current Morning Musume split into Otomegumi and Sakuragumi, I was unexpectedly in Sakuragumi, thats right, I thought being in Sakuragumi was unexpected for myself, since with Otomegumi has a forceful feeling..! But the Sakuragumi song I sang I really like..eeh, the story got turned upside down

Its Michishige Sayumi-san's part but, I got to sing it <3

The first day was Michishige Sayumi-san's birthday so,

with contacting her with a "congratulations", "I'm singing this part, I'll do my best"

Towards that part, I really got the help from a lot of people, I was also really thinking about it a lot, but thinking about thinking about it is difficult,

just before singing it, I met eyes with Ozeki Mai-chan on standby

For the harmony performance, we got to sing C-ute-san and Berryz Koubou-san songs for the shuffles but, it was my first time...

All of the fans were twirling their towels together, singing Woa~ It was a really fun feeling of becoming one!

it seems fun to spin around the towel, I wont forget all of the fans faces!

it really seemed fun!! lol

by all means Harocon is, where I can show off songs only there, at that time I want to make it as exciting as possible! thats what I thought as I stood on stage,

In particular with SHINES even for a limited time, at once, I felt the heat go up

a sense of achievement!!!

Connected that sense to...a song,

we sang at the harmony performance "Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~"

First of all! I really like this song! all of the members too!

I was happy for the cheers at the intro~

With that momentum, it was different from, in any case it'll be flashy...! it has the feelings of strong girls, it was difficult to make the cool expressions but,

it was fun to play the role

getting into it...I did it, maybe!?

Aah! Also the dance club too! Thank you very much!

I danced in the harmony performances

we have become split into 2 teams, so I was able to see the other members dancing,

it became very cool motivation

when the opposing team was rehearsing, the dance club took the initiative with a "Fuu~" (lol)

Aah-, with the dance club,

it was Rikako and, Maopin (lol)

With next Harocon, I'm looking forward to what dance we'll touch next

Heyoooo, I am not active on Tumblr these days tbh, but. Lemme just hug you real tight, wish you the best, because I believe I have missed your birthday this time, but given there top something meme and your Bloodborne - what about top of the best memories related to the game or Souls series in general?

That is alright buddy, I really hope you’re having fun over whatever other platform you’ve migrated over to

Best memories... oh boy, that is. a Hard thing to explain, I had several absolutely unforgettable moments, both alone with only me and the game, and with others.

I don’t know how many I should list, but I’ll just start somewhere and hope to finish :’)

(Under a read-more because it got LONG)

1. My very first login to Dark Souls - So, I’ve actually found this game by pure dumb luck. I don’t actually remember how it came up, I think I maybe saw some memes about it online, bunch of ThePruld videos.

I didn’t think much of it, but at one point it came up in an IRL conversation, as a passing subject and I asked, “okay but what IS dark souls” and the friend just simply went “it’s just very hard”.

I’m NOT good at games. Idk why I wanted to try it though. I guess the dingy ruined castles ticked my mind just enough to be interested.

A friend on Steam shared it with me because they had it, and I didn’t, and so I gave it a little whirl... and I fell FAST and i fell HARD. I remember struggling with the keyboard for about an hour. I remember realizing that I do have a few controllers lying around in the house, and a wireless receiver because at one point my dad ordered some from AliExpress because he wanted to play old Star Wars games on controllers.

The rest is history, now.

2. Exploring the Undead Burg - as a small continuation of the first bit, but nobody warned me that this game would be so damn BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful. I struggled in the Burg for at least ten hours, for sure. I got used to carefully, very very carefully exploring. I firebombed a Black Knight to death from the top of a house’s roof. I did a LOT of Hellkite Drake soul farming. Y’all know the one.

It was so utterly special for the first time I don’t think I’ll ever feel as alive as I did when I was doing those dumb things. I remember the whole Undead Burg by heart. The way the warm sunlight touches down on the moss-covered stone walls.

3. First flight to Anor Londo - I cried, I legit cried, when I finally got there. I don’t remember if I was aware of what was to come, but when those gargoyles lifted my dingy little knight up, and took to the heavens.... and then rose above the golden Anor Londo?

I think I had to go for a little walk after that because it felt so good, so profoundly amazing, I could not concentrate to sit and progress.

4. Oolacile adventures with @abyss-wolf - I actually rambled to her for so long about this dumb amazing game that she actually got it for herself... and then we played a lot together and then these co-op sessions turned into actual dates, adn the rest is history now... but!

Oolacile was special. Because, I think I was getting her through it for the very first time. And I was trying to direct her towards some loot. There was one particular loot that I directed her towards, but I remembered there was a hole in front of it.

I told her so.

She went “yeah yeah I know I saw”

And then she proceeded to walk straight into the goddamn hole, and fell to her death.

I think I laughed at her for like 10 minutes straight, or at least until I ran all the way back so she could summon me again.

5. Oolacile adventures, round two -

Me: “I’m not very good at shooting tbh.”

Her: -pulling out a max upgraded Dragonslayer Greatbow- “why, it’s not so hard lol”

Her: -proceeds to headshot every single enemy in Oolacile garden- “like so”

Me: -at this point actively repressing the gay thoughts like the fucking dumbass i was, there is zero other explanation- “stop showing off your big dick bro”

6. Oolacile adventures, round three - That one time when she got herself a bunch of items from item editor and she gave my knight, Caspiron, Gwyndolin’s bow

and it was so fucking tiny

and SHE laughed at me for like 10 minutes straight because HER bow was bigger than her whole character

there were lots of dick jokes, and that’s how it was all well in life.

7. Dark Souls III adventures, still with @abyss-wolf - That ONE TIME.

When we were doing the Darkened Fireling Shrine.

And we walked into Champion Gundyr’s boss room, and the FUCKER immediately used the fucking grab attack on me and Y O T E me off the FUCKING cliff.

8. Dark Souls III adventures, round two - that one time when I was AFK because I was doing something for mom and when I came back she covered the area around me with shiny pebbles.

9. Exploring the Tomb of the Giants - Something with the atmospheric part - that area is completely, utterly pitch black. You can’t see anything at all, save for perhaps the ground immediately beneat your feet.

There are giant skeletons in the darkness. They are NOT nice. You can stumble blindly into them if you aren’t careful.

You can slip off the roads and fall to your death, or into places where you have to figure aout all over how to get back up, all semi-blind.

That was such good shit, holy fuck guys.

10. Finding the Kiln of the First Flame - The gate beyond the Lordvessel opens up. It reveals a staircase, leading just a little way down. As you walk upon it, spirits of Silver Knights walk past you, like wisps of memory.

You are standing in a giant space. A bleak, burnt up desert or nothing but ash and old, warped structures. There is light filtering in, but you cannot see from where.

It’s beautiful. It’s desolate and forbidding.

And it is the end.

You’ve made it. Only one thing left to do. And you know what it is.

Shit this turned into a “favourite Dark Souls moments”, huh? I didn’t mean to, I just wanted to start from the beginning and I got carried away.

But it REALLY does show which is my favourite game of the whole FromSoft lineup, huh? Can’t really ever let go of the first one you’ve played.

I adore Bloodborne, but I’ve not had all the time to collect my thoughts on it. I’ll probably write good long rambles about it too, eventually, because holy shit i’m loving it with all my heart, indeed i do

You know how when sims are asleep you can check your phone or eat smth or w/e, yea that’s simply not happening anymore, I’m in constant vigilance all night long..

..and thank god because otherwise I would have missed Allegra and Victor’s ghosts playing??? WTF MAXIS. I’ve never seen this before and it’s the rare combo of sad and adorable. Right in the feels ❤️💔

Notable moments of Summer17

I just need to take a moment to appreciate how fucking amazing this summer has been and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Week in the bay with Lowell and Michelle: got to spend even more time with my best friends! Did drunk karaoke, Japantown, touristy shit, an open mic night, drunk bowling, etc. That was the first exposure my LMU friends had with my FC friends and everyone got along so well :D I died a lil bit at during drunk bowling at the hands of an ex but all the homies were there for me and I love them.

Research: most frustrating experience of my life... I definitely learned a ton about mechanomyography and exercise physiology, but I learned so much more about the research process. It’s fucking hard. especially if you do it alone. Thankfully I had Sophie and a fat stipend to get me through everything!!

Haychella & its related antics: if i didnt live with rachel i would have died. end of story. these events raised my tolerance like crazy and rachel was always there to go drunk fountain swimming with me, hold my hair back when I died at my birthday party and put it on her snapstory when i pissed in my bed after i blacked out at the bars. All of the rage cage and furniture games we played will be in my heart lol

Kehlani concert: shoutout to lowell for being a damn good friend and going to see her and taking edibles with me. seeing ella mai was game changing and i always wear my free merch. It was nice to see my wife again, unfortunately i passed out from dehydration and screaming her lyrics too hard.

Cabo: boy did I get tan and fat. I ate so much shrimp i couldnt feel my legs and my vision was blurry. It was some nice family time but all you can do in cabo is get litty. Shoutout to jacob and emily for going to mango deck and squid roe with me so i could turn up.

Preschool: got to work with some real cuties in the twos class this year but after that, ya girl is DONE. I will forever miss cooper, audrey and carter <3 twas the last summer of a free gym membership and i definitely used the shit out of it. this was the most fit i have ever been in my whole life.

Pierced nipples: pretty self explanatory but thanks for convincing me to go chelsea (:

Audiotistic: THE RAVE THAT CHANGED IT ALL LOL i was feelin my outfit (even though one of the straps on my shorts broke) the lineup was dope as fuck, the moonrocks did me good, and i was with some of my favorite people. Michelle pushed me onto Tim, who I told myself I wouldn’t really think twice about. We danced the whole time and he shouted all of the wrong lyrics into my ear. Even though i almost shat myself bc i had to sneak in, it was fucking worth it.

Giants game with Tim: He slid in the DMs a few days later and we had our first date at a giants game. Even though we were pretty buzzed, I knew he was a real one.

Soulstice: this will be the only time I will roll 2 weeks in a row i swear!! Got to rave with tim and the boys AND josh from lmu!! the music was whatever but I had the fucking time of my life with them.

Berkeley turn up: I had such a good time with such a random group of people (tim & friends, kina, arka, rachel, ben, angel) it was way too fun! i had one of those drunk moments where I just realized how fucking content i am with my life. also, first sexy time ;)

San Diego: nice to get the gang back together! makes me appreciate you all a little bit more! i will remember this trip for what I didn’t remember because I HAVE NEVER BLACKED THIS HARD IN MY LIFE. at least it was after 12 or 13 shots bc that was the most ive ever drank in my life.

KRANE + LA + Summer Sauce: our relationship took like 40 steps forward after our lil trip haha after this, i had met most of your friends and parents and i felt like i was already living with you! I had so much fun at KRANE and Summer Sauce with you. Even though youre always underwhelmed by the music, the experience itself is so much fun with you. I REALLY got to know you (and your fear of spiders) and i’m so glad i found someone who enjoys eating as much as i do. after alllll the hanging out together in such a short amount of time, i found that i didnt hate you and if you can accomplish that, that means you are pretty damn special to me.

Overall, the best thing about this summer was the colliding of worlds with Lmu friends, Michelle’s friends, and my friends. I really feel confident that I’m surrounding myself with the best people possible. Even all the smaller hangouts (more drunk bowling, more drunk karaoke, meringue pie, beach trips, movies, smoke sessions, scavenger hunts, kickbacks, etc) made it alll complete. I love everyone that I have met or gotten close to and I appreciate the shit out of them. After how lit this summer was, I’m ready to go back to the grind and maybe cut down on all the illegal activities for a lil bit so I can focus on school!

So I dropped off the face of Tumblr for awhile, sorry guys! I also rewatched the entirety of Yuri on Ice with my boyfriend and he now likes ice skating anime so that took some time lol But I am back JUST IN TIME FOR YUMOTO’S BIRTHDAY OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS CHILD. Either Yumoto was hoping his senpais would teach him how to be popular with the ladies, or he’s just confused as to what in the hell it is that older boys want. This entire scene is just a clusterfuck of innuendo BUT I’M GONNA OVER ANALYZE IT ANYWAY.

The surface meaning of En and Atsushi’s statements here- or what the audience is supposed to get- is that being popular with girls will only get you so far. It may get you ‘love’ but having a girlfriend means jack squat if you don’t have guy friends (most likely to brag to).

It also could be taken that En at least would rather appreciate women than exert his energy into making them lust after him, which is rather sweet if you think about it.

Atsushi’s point also draws attention to the fact that stereotypical displays of machismo are much more well-received by other men than women- ie outward displays of strength, aggression, bragging about sexual encounters... er- yeah. No need to go on, there.

So. In order to be a well-rounded man, a man needs to be popular/be admired by other men! So you aren’t a lonely loser the rest of your days.

Buuut... because I’m me... LET’S LOOK AT THE SUBTEXT IN RELATIONSHIP TO THEIR SPECULATED SEXUALITIES 8D

En basically says straight up it’s more beneficial to be admired by men. Putting aside the above statements about admiring women... En’s likely gay. Fosho.

And the top screencap of Yumoto, instead of just clarifying his senpai’s intentions, that could mean that he’s more interested in girls. HOWEVER-

With a c: face, Yumoto admits his heart flutters watching rugged young men!

Bi Yumoto anyone? (He also unironically uses the word ‘flicks’ but that’s either a translator thing or another example of a mysterious dialect but ON TOPIC-)

At least within the context of this scene, Yumoto implies he’d be interested in being popular with girls and he is attracted to at very least a certain type of man. Buuut the rest of this episode (which I will get to later) potentially directly contradicts this implication as to Yumoto’s romantic and/or otherwise attraction.

It’s too bad that we don’t get Ryuu or Atsushi’s opinions on the matter- although Ryuu makes his attractions pretty clear just from his character (and then the subtext with Io). Atsushi is a bit of a mystery, for now.

As for Io, we get this exchange-

The others were affected because they are either simply older than Yumoto/past puberty or allosexual to the point where the spell could manipulate their feelings despite their existing attractions whatever those may be.

Yumoto’s earlier comments, then, could be taken to mean simply romantic attraction, even though his wording of his “heart fluttering” thanks to Yakuza men is a bit misleading in that respect. (Disclaimer: I am not on the ace spectrum so perhaps I am misrepresenting/misinterpreting here- please correct me if I have made a mistake in my understanding of asexuality- I definitely do not want to offend anyone! Just analyzing~)

Though to play the other side, En’s comment about marriage, even though he’s under the influence of a spell, also indicates that the spell has romantic components as well as potentially sexual ones. If the spell plays to BOTH- wouldn’t Yumoto be affected as well, based on his earlier assertions?

OR PERHAPS- if it is both, Yumoto is ALSO potentially aromantic and his comments were purely of an aesthetic nature or self projection (that is, he wants to be a dashing Yakuza heartthrob, not necessarily date one). Or he was simply trying to relate to his senpais and was bluffing the entire time.

Damn, this episode can seem REALLY deep if you squint hard enough. Headcanons, abound!

Moving on- WHEN IN DOUBT, HUG THE ENEMY!

Now I’m starting to see some cleverness on the part of the writers- hear me out below- but first- MORE CUDDLES

With this, Yumoto can be read several different ways.

On the surface and probably most importantly, regardless of what Yumoto’s personal attraction/orientation is (if he’s even figured it out at this point), he knows love at its purest form. He loves his brother. He loves his senpais (even though at this point they barely know each other- Yumoto probably latches on quickly). But more importantly, he is so in tune with his own feelings he realizes that self love is at the core of any type of love. That if you aren’t secure in yourself, if you don’t care about yourself on some level, how can anyone else care about you either?

This is another reason why I love Yumoto even though he can get a bit heavy-handed at times and seem like a one-note character; HE ISN’T.

Yumoto is incredibly introspective and even though his senapis make comments about how he just kind of shoves everything together to fit the situation he really does understand the monster-ified characters’ insecurities.

(Which can lead to some sad headcanons about how Yumoto has probably felt all of these things at one point or another... oh no...)

But back to my over-analysis of Yumoto’s orientation- with this... it’s really up to interpretation.

He can be read as a young character who hasn’t figured things out yet, he can be read as interested in romantic relationships of any variety but not necessarily anything else, he can be read as only interested in platonic relationships- anything. And while the inconsistency in his portrayal can be a bit maddening- it’s GREAT headcanon opportunity.

Thus, unless s3 gives Yumoto a canon interest- he’s whatever you think he is. Which is AWESOME! DO YOU SEE WHY I LOVE THIS SMOL CINNAMON ROLL?
