Part 12
You decided to head to your university. They don't skimp on their snack budget, hence they provide the best snacks. You took the medicine that Yves paid for you before leaving the house.
Halfway through the bus ride though, you're starting to regret your choice. Your head and shoulders became extremely heavy and you feel like crap.
But it's too late to turn back now. The next bus is in an hour.
You stumbled out of the bus and rubbed your eyes. Yawning and scratching your back.
Bleary eyed, you started walking away from the station. Feeling like you're forgetting something, but you shrug it off. Thinking it should be in your bag.
Except, you didn't have your bag.
You gasped when you realized that you're not carrying anything behind you. But then relief washed over you when you realized that it's at home and not on the bus that's disappearing on the horizon. Then, that also means you left the door unlocked.
You sighed, sticking your hand in your pocket, planning to tell your housemates about it.
You pulled out a rectangular device and tried unlocking the screen.
Except there was no screen. Because it's not a smartphone, it's a power Bank.
That's right, Yves gave you his power bank to use indefinitely. You were charging it right next to your phone... what is wrong with you?
You groan, oh this is bad.
It's the 21st century, memorizing phone numbers is not the trend, you don't know what number to call aside from emergency services or your own. Maybe you remembered the numbers of your parents, but they're in another country. What could they do?
You took a deep breath. This is fine, you're in the university not some sketchy alleyway. You know the schedule of the next bus and if there's an emergency, you could just use a payphone to dial 911.
You have some cash on you and that's fine. You'll live, it's enough to pay for your bus fare.
So you walked, in a zombie-like way. You should have just rotted in bed, scrolling through your social media and burning your phone credits. But no, you just had to leave the house.
At least the weather is cool and the air is fresh. You continued walking, finally reaching past the entrance.
Everything feels severely foggy. You couldn't think straight, there were a couple times where you would stand in front of a potted plant and stare at it for minutes. Then you would snap yourself out of it and walk away. God knows what medication it was, you just took it as per the pharmacist's instructions. You're sure it's playing a part in your current incapable state.
You rubbed your eyes and whined. Pacing around, finding a hard time to figure out what to do. Your head hurts and your entire body isn't cooperating with what your brain is signalling. Your brain isn't even working with you.
What did you just eat? Did you accidentally poison yourself with the wrong pills?
Through your bleary eyes, you spotted a tall figure jogging up to you. But your lowered inhibitions prevented you from feeling alarmed, you just want to rest at home.
"Hey, hey, stop that." You felt someone gently grabbing your wrists, stopping you from rubbing your now red eyes. "Are you alright?"
It's Montgomery. He's kneeling to your level and staring deep into your eyes, his massive hands holding your head in place as he inspect you.
"What's up with you?" He asked, you're still processing what, or who, you're looking at.
"Damn, what did he do to you? You're all drugged up!" He scrambled to get back up on his feet. "C'mon, sweetheart. Let's get you to a doctor."
Confused and afraid, you tried protesting but Montgomery ended up carrying you bridal-style. You tried screaming for help, but he hushed you.
"Shh... it's okay, it's okay. I'm not gonna drop ya'. You're as light as a feather!" He cooed. "I got ya', you don't have to worry 'bout a thing, I'll take care of you, I'll save ya' from that bastard."
He stuffed you into his back seat, laying you down on your back. You shrieked when he climbed atop and straddled your hips, but he's only doing that to fluff the pillow under your head. The man got off and tucked you under his blanket, he then secured you with both seatbelts so you wouldn't roll off when he drives.
"Bend your knees for me, darlin'. I can't shut the door with your legs juttin' out!"
You refused and kept screaming, hoping that someone could help you. Which made Montgomery uncomfortable, not because he thinks you're scared of him, because he thinks you're in pain.
"Shh... I know, I know. I'll make it all better. I promise, you just have to hold out for a little longer, okay?" He gripped onto your calves and pushed them into the car. Immediately after, he shut the car door and dashed to the driver's seat.
You tried unbuckling yourself and unlocking the door, but you're at a severe disadvantage since you're still severely disorientated. You gave up when the car started speeding away from the venue.
Through your haziness, you managed to ask why he's in the university.
"I was hopin' to find ya', and I did. You're lucky I spotted you before some other creeps did! They'd snatch you right up and you couldn't fight back 'cause you're all doped up!"
It's unbelievable that he didn't realize that he was describing himself.
You asked how he knew to find you at six in the morning.
"Well, I remember when I had to go to school. I had classes at 7AM, my folks came an hour early while I came an hour late. 'Cause I was helping out with the farm. I don't reckon you have a farm to help out on. Do ya?" Such solid reasoning comes from the maniac himself.
You asked him what happened yesterday after he was escorted out, not realizing that he would take your curiosity as a concern for his wellbeing, and hence another declaration of your love.
"Aww is someone worried about me? I'm fine, that fucking queer roughed me up a lil'. But he played dirty, bet that asshole won't have the balls to get in a fair fight with me. Bless your heart for witnessing all the ugly. But I'm here now, I'll keep you safe from that monster. What did he do to ya'?"
You wanted to tell him that Yves is your boyfriend and Montgomery is the monster in your eyes. But immediately zipped your mouth closed because you're unsure as to how he is going to react to that, you can't take him on normally, let alone sick and potentially drugged.
"Sweetheart?" He glanced at you through his rearview mirror. You tried speaking, but you found that your tongue was too swollen for you to say anything. Drool dribbled down your chin as you found it increasingly harder to breathe.
"What the fuck..." He muttered under his breath before switching up his tone to calm you down. "I-it's fine! It's gonna be okay, baby. Just... think of the Lord. He'll get us through this!" You heard the whirring of his engine grow louder as he floored the gas pedal.
You wish Yves is here. He would have known what to do.

You took the biggest gasp of your life, greedily sucking in the air as it rushes into your lungs. You winced as the searing light stabbed your strained eyes, and sounds of people chattering, beeping, and rushing reached your ears. Coldness nipped at your skin and you felt something attached to your face. The air smelled of iodoform, and you coughed and hacked as everything was overwhelming you.
Finally, you managed to focus and process where you are.
"Mx Joe?"
Who?
"Mx Joe, can you hear me?" You turned your head to the side, the pillow slightly blocking your view. You saw a woman in scrubs and a pair of gloves, next to her were other nurses rushing the code cart to other patients in the room.
You looked at the rubber oxygen mask strapped to your face. Your thigh felt sore and tender, and then you realized why when you saw another nurse nearby holding an empty syringe.
The woman began introducing herself as a medical resident, you didn't pay attention when she told you her name. Soon after, she began explaining how you got here.
She said that your partner brought you in; unconscious, swollen as if you were stung by an army of bees and unable to breathe. You had an allergic reaction to something you consumed, inhaled, or touched. She asked if you ate anything you suspected could be the culprit a few hours ago.
The pill. You must be allergic to the medication.
You and she went back and forth, answering all the relevant questions she asked you. This time you told her your real name and true details. All she did was note it down in her clipboard without asking further questions as to why Montgomery gave her a fake name.
She did a couple more tests to make sure you didn't suffer from other complications. Once she deemed you healthy enough, she sent you on your way to be discharged, the ER is too busy for you to linger there any longer than necessary.
Another nurse wheelchaired you out of the Emergency department and into the waiting room, where Montgomery was there nervously fiddling with his hands while waiting for you.
"Joe!" He exclaimed before running towards you. "God, I was so damn worried! What the hell happened to them?" Montgomery asked the nurse, his hands squished your face into a compressed chunk.
You were reminded once again, Yves's soft touches are superior.
"They had an allergic reaction to a drug prescribed to treat their nausea. They're fine." The nurse turned to you. "Get some rest and drink enough fluids. You're going to feel tired, but that is to be expected. Any questions?"
You looked at Montgomery and he stared at you back.
You were contemplating whether you should scream for help. But... if it wasn't for him, you would be dead. If the police are involved, he will surely go to jail this time. And, you don't exactly feel comfortable ruining his life after he saved yours.
He's mentally deranged, but so far you think he wouldn't cause too much harm to you.
You slowly shook your head and prayed that you wouldn't regret your decision to not snitch on him.
"Alright. That will be all." The nurse told Montgomery the directions to the payment counters.
He began pushing you in your wheelchair with him.
"What a week, huh?" He tried to lighten the mood, but you're as somber as ever. Badly yearning for your phone and Yves's wallet, this is going to be a death sentence for your wallet.
You're dreading your turn. This is not going to end well for you, you can't call anyone aside from your parents who are on another continent. You wished that you memorized Yves's number.
When your name is called, Montgomery didn't react. It was called the second time, and you hesitantly brought your hands to the wheels. He grabbed your wrist.
"Hey, whatcha' doing?"
The receptionist called your name again. You sighed, coming clean that your name isn't Joe M. To your surprise, he wasn't shocked or upset, all he did was stand up and walk towards the counter.
You stretched your neck, trying to gain vantage over the sea of sick people. Montgomery took out a tattered, leather wallet from the back pocket of his work pants. You saw his eye widen momentarily and he seemed to be arguing with the receptionist about something. In the end, he swiped his slightly chipped debit card on the machine. He looked uneasy as he keyed in his PIN number on the card reader.
He collected the receipt before stuffing it into his wallet. Montgomery walked back with a bittersweet smile.
You asked him how much it was.
"Don't worry about it, honey. I'm just glad yer' fine."
You said that he didn't have to pay for you. You could do it yourself.
"Oh yeah? You and with what money? You shouldn't be thinkin' 'bout money troubles at this age. You should be focusin' on gettin' that degree!" He laughed, ruffling your hair. "Any respectable boyfriend would pay for his partner's bills!"
You told him that he isn't your boyfriend.
"Sure, sweetheart." He dismissed you as he grabbed the handles of your wheelchair. You stopped him and said you could walk. Before he could react to that, you used all your might to stand up, mildly stumbling around a bit before finding your balance. He stuck his arms around you, ready to catch if you were to fall.
"Y'know, you shouldn't push yourself too hard. I'm pretty sure the hospital is gonna let us borrow this till' the exit." You began walking away. More like limping.
"H-hey! Wait up!" He jogged to catch up with you.
He wrapped his arm around your waist and urged you in another direction.
"I parked this way, c'mon." He rested his hand on the small of your back. It's a little too far down for comfort and you didn't like how he would rub you.

His idea of "sick people's food" is something people eat to get sick.
But you're starving at this point, so you're scarfing down an English muffin breakfast sandwich. Letting the grease coat your fingers and the yolk covers your face, it's a messy ordeal.
"I gotta bring you out to eat more..." Mumbled Montgomery as he watched you devour two of the same sandwiches. He developed a newfound distaste for Yves on top of his strong, existing ones. Montgomery is disgusted that Yves didn't even have the decency to feed "his love". What kind of man let's his beloved starve like this? Definitely not Montgomery.
He only got three bites in and you're now stealing his hash browns. You don't know where you are, this was the first time visiting the hospital. All you know is that he's currently parked in a fast food joint's free parking lot.
It's a seven-minute drive from the hospital. You looked at the built-in clock on his radio.
10:59AM. You have an hour left to get home before Yves arrives and potentially causes a catastrophe.
"So... (name)." You watched him from the corner of your eyes. "What was up with Joe M.?"
You gulped. You said it was an inside joke.
"Well, what is it?" You told him it would ruin the joke.
"Keep your secrets then." He took another bite out of his meal.
You and he ate in silence, mostly him. You were somewhat noisy because you didn't bother closing your mouth when chewing.
"Relax, it's not gonna run away." He chuckled as you stuffed your face with more of the sandwich. Montgomery bought 6 in total, expecting to eat 4 of them. But in reality, he only got to eat 2.
"Y'know, you don't have to do all that for money." You looked at him, waiting for him to elaborate on what he meant.
"I know those wealthy bastards, they go after pretty young things like you and suck your youth from ya' like vampires. It ain't worth it."
You forced a giant chunk of unchewed food down your throat.
"H-hey don't do that! You're gonna choke!" He patted your back as you coughed.
You asked in between hacks if he's talking about Yves.
"Is that what his name is? But yeah, I'm talkin' about him."
You asked him if he thinks you're prostituting yourself.
"No! I- I mean- I don't know, I was thinkin' more of the sugar baby line of work. It ain't necessarily mean you gotta be bumpin' uglies in the bedroom- you don't seem like the type. But I sure do know he ain't got ya best interests at heart." He explained.
You brought your arm up to wipe your mouth with your sleeve. But This time, he was prepared. He held your arm and pushed a napkin to your chin. He took the liberty to clean your face up for you.
You definitely preferred Yves's gentle touch over Montgomery's brutish ones.
"He ain't good for you, (name). Trust me on this." You tried to pull away from his rigorous wiping, but he held your head in place with the other hand.
"Folks from back home were deceived by men like these. They come to the city lookin' to build a better future. Then a wealthy man came along, makin' promises that he can't keep in exchange for their souls." He released you, taking the dirtied tissue with him. Montgomery placed it on his dashboard, planning to dispose of it later.
"...and guess what, those men left them high and dry. They lost their money, their body and their minds. Now, my folks aren't city dwellers, we're from the countryside, they didn't know any better. I know you ain't from here too."
You asked Montgomery what made him think that way.
"You have a heart of gold and hands of sand. Folks born and raised here are damn sadists with a pair of soft hands. Ain't none of them picked a field rake up before."
You said don't think you picked up a field rake in your life either.
"That ain't the point, I'm sayin' you don't blend in with the rest of these fuckin' pricks. And you're attractin' trouble like this Sugar Daddy of yours."
There is no point in trying to correct him. You just nodded in acknowledgement.
He held both of your hands in his, enveloping them tightly into a ball. It hurts a bit.
"Please, darlin'. I beg of you, stay away from him. He's gonna break your heart and I sure hell don't want to see my baby in tears. I will treat you right, be with me and you ain't gotta worry 'bout a thing. I'm gonna feed you, drive you around and buy you stuff you always wanted." He pressed your hands against his cheek, with Montgomery's stubble scratching your palm.
"Please? Could you stop seeing him for me, please, sweetheart? I'll treat you so much better than that monster. I will take care of you." He crooned, placing a kiss or two on your hands. You grimaced when you felt the wetness of his saliva on your skin.
He is insane. You looked around for a possible opportunity to escape, but there isn't any.
You glanced at the clock.
It says 11:29AM.
Montgomery realizes what you're looking at and connected the pieces. He lets go of your hands and begins tidying up around him
"You have class, don'tcha'? I'll get you back to school. But... I think ya' oughta' listen to the doctor and rest at home. You were damn near seeing the pearly gates today." He buckled his seat belt and reignited his engine.
You wince as you hear the car roar back to life.
You thought about the different possible scenarios that could happen. You're thankful that he didn't realize it's your semester break now.

Hello, as we head in an unprecedented third Tory leadership crisis in the UK (lol), could you pretty please do a round-up of likely candidates? Oooh or even a round-up of candidates if it goes to general election - I know it's so unlikely but a gals gotta dream!
I've started compiling sources for a Rishi Sunak masterpost, because it's definitely going to be him (assuming I get round to it - you're all at the whims of my ADHD-riddled hyperfixating bowl of sweets that I call a brain, soz about that.) But, what's happening this week (I am writing this on Monday the 24th October) is basically Tory Leadership: Speedrun Edition.
Last time it took several months after it was narrowed to the top two. This time, they'll have it done by Friday and then maybe we'll know if fracking is back on the table or not lol.
So it's Rishi Sunak vs Penny Mordaunt. To spare me wasting too many more of my worthless man-hours, I will super-briefly summarise them:
Rishi Sunak
It's going to be him. He was Big Dog's Chancellor and conspicuously absent from Partygate photos, except for Boris' surprise birthday party; almost like, if one were of a suspicious mindset, he had a long term plan to keep his nose clean.
He is, and I want you to think about all the competition he has for this accolade and then really think about what it means, possibly the single most financially corrupt Tory in the party's history.
The amount of money he openly and blatantly stole and gave to his family and friends during the pandemic is well into the billions. The billions. He is part of the reason the UK was hit so very badly by covid - between him, Boris, Dominic Cummings and Matt Hancock, we had no chance. Rishi took BILLIONS of pounds for covid and gave the contracts to the companies of family and friends, who pocketed the vast majority and then utterly failed to deliver any covid relief resources back. He is literally a billionaire, to my knowledge. He also paid to bail out his wife after she broke some law or other and bankrupted a company (I cannot remember the details of that one offhand mind, so don't quote me there - it'll be in the full post if I write it.)
This man is a hateful gargoyle.
Penny Mordaunt
Possibly the best option, although admittedly that's like saying "Out of all the turds in the turd collection this one is the least offensive in smell."
She's hyper nationalistic to a horrifying and gross degree. However, she isn't a transphobe (or at the very least she is openly Fine With Trans People, which is what we ask for.) This actually makes her enormously unusual for a Tory. In the last leadership round, the main talking points every candidate had to address were
Did they support Boris Johnson
What will they do about the economy
What will they do about the energy crisis
How much do they hate trans people
It's probably the thing that cost her the vote last time, in fact.
She won't get it.
However, if she somehow does, that gives the Tories a very small chance of subsequently winning another GE. Rishi, on the other hand, is a hated man, by both the party and the public. The chance of him reforming them enough to win a GE against Starmer is slim to none (if he even stays in post that long). So, ultimately, if Penny gets it it's better in the short term; if Rishi gets it, it's better in the medium to long term, depending on when the next GE comes.

all of the results are below the cut, as otherwise this would be wayyy too long (warning ahead of reading: this is long but worth the read i promise)! Thank you again to everybody who participated in this, this year the census received double(!!) the amount of responses as it did previously!! i hope you all enjoy the results and find them as interesting as i do, lets get into it:
A couple small disclaimers before the results: due to some technical difficulties i had to make this whole post on mobile, and because of that had to deal with tumblr mobiles image limit! that's why some questions are paired with others even if there isn't a theme between them. Along with this, tumblr naturally ruined the quality of the images a bit, clicking on them helps if you wanna see more detail! hopefully these things don't disrupt the viewing experience too much! enjoy <3
Questions #1 + #2: Eras
Question #1: Here it was asked what era you became a fan, and the era with the largest response was Save Rock and Roll, with just over a quarter of you all having become a fan in 2013/2014. The most notable thing to point out here is that over half of you become fans after the hiatus! With a good amount becoming fans (8.5%) in just the last couple years!
Question #2: This question was also about the era's of fob, but asking what your favorite era is personally. Coincidentally (or perhaps not 👀), Save Rock and Roll came out on top in this question too as a majority of peoples favorite era of fob (thus far).
Questions #3 + #4: Favorite + Best Album(s)
Question #3: Here you were asked to pick which album is personally your favorite, with Folie a Deux being over a quarter of respondents favorite album. This was not too shocking, as Folie came out on top the past two years as well. The love for that album is incredibly strong and unwavering!
Question #4: In this question, the distinction was made in asking which of fobs albums is objectively their best. Part of me knew to expect the answers would be the same as the last one, part of me wondered if maybe things would be shake up- they were not! The only thing that changed was slightly less people believing Folie is their best album, rather than it being their personal favorite (39.7% vs 39%)
Questions #5 + #6: Least Favorite and Worst Album(s)
Question #5: Here you were asked the flip of question 3, that being which album is personally your least favorite. Here, the answers were not too shocking (but hurtful) to me as abap stan #1 with over a quarter of you all voting abap as your least favorite fob album. Notably, but perhaps not surprisingly, here is that all the albums people voted as their favorites had a Very minuscule amount of people saying they were fobs worst.
Question #6: Just as the last question, this one was a flip of question 4, and as questions 3 and 4, the top answers for these two were the same. However, the order partly flipped, with take this to your grave being considered their worst album, and abap and mania trailing close behind. Interestingly, despite a large majority of people considering folie their best album, it was not the album with the least votes here- Infinity on high is.
Questions #7 + #8: Eps and Music Videos
Question #7: Number 7 asked you all to pick which Ep of fobs was your favorite, with My Heart (etc etc) pulling ahead to be your #1 favorite. Interestingly here, this was the first year i included project rocket... And only 2 people picked it. Perhaps it will be the last time i include that option...
Question #8: Unrelated to the previous but they're together anyway lol, this question was a new one asking you all what music video is your favorite! Sixteen candles won by a relatively large margin, though several music videos got shown a lot of love. Essentially, despite there being a clear majority favorite, almost each of their music videos got at least one vote, which is pretty cool to me!
Questions #9 + #10: Your babygirls both fob and otherwise
Question #9: Though it goes without saying that we all love and support each member of fob very very much, we all have our special babygirl, and that was shown here. It appears that a majority of census takers are Patrick girlies (gnc), though each member got a large chunk of votes!
Question #10: Every year this question goes the same, with my chemical romance coming out on top as your guys' favorite fob related/adjacent artist. It feels this year the love for them was even stronger, which is interesting to me! Their resurgence can be felt even in other fandoms, like in this case, which is prettyyyy cool!
Questions #11, 12, + #13: First, Favorite, and Best songs
Question #11: This question made a comeback this year asking which fob song was the first you ever heard. I want to acknowledge that i included an option for can't/won't remember, as i understand that can be a difficult thing to remember sometimes! That answer, rightfully, came out as the second most answered option. However, i wanted to show the actual top songs, so just put those! Something else to note is the shocking wide variety of first songs for people! Very cool.
Question #12: Here you were asked for your personal favorite overall song, with probably no one being surprised that disloyal order came out on top, dominating any other song, as per usual! The love for Folie truly is so song, with 3 of the top 5 songs being songs from Folie.
Question #13: And here you were asked objectively what your favorite song is andddd... disloyal order won this one as well, perhaps rightfully so. Interestingly here, (coffee's for closers) dipped from the list where it was 5th in peoples favorites, being replaced by the ever so popular dance, dance! What a catch makes an appearance here too, maintaining a majority of the top 5 songs being ones from Folie.
Questions #14 +#15: Under and Overrated songs
Question #14: One of my favorites to ask every year so far, this one asks which song you believe to be fobs most underrated. Surprisingly to me, Snitches came out as the most underrated. It was interesting to see which songs were chosen for this one, as I feel a lot more mania/posth songs were considered underrated, despite less often being considered favorites!
Question #15: On the flip side, this question asked what fob song is most overrated. Every year, the answers here are very consistent: centuries is their most overrated song. Abap is the album with the most overrated songs. In that way, one could consider abap the antihesis of Folie lmao
Questions #16: Seeing fob live
Question #16: Interestingly to me, last year the results were flipped with more people having seen them live than not. However this year, with some newer fans that previously, more people have not seen them than have. hopefully this changes soon!
Questions #17 + #18: This or That
Question #17: Here, I took the top 2 answers for what your favorite fob song was and put them up against each other. The entire time the census was open, this was so so insanely close. A majority of the time, hum hallelujah was beating disloyal order. However, at the last minute, the two songs tied. So i guess we have to wait till next year to see the true favoritez
Question #18: And with this one, these two were the top two answers last year for the most overrated fob song. Centuries was absolutely decimated by My songs, truly solidifying this fandoms apparent distaste for centuries.
Questions #19 + #20: Album Covers and Lyrics
Question #19: A census first, this question asked which album cover is your guys' favorite cover. I was super interested to see how the results of this one came out, as i had my own perception of what i thought is their best cover, but really didn't know what everyone else thought. and infinity on high came out on top! (with me agreeing with that heavily)
Question #20: Last but certainly not least, question 20 asked you all to pick which fob song has the best lyrics. We experienced a tie here, with an interesting variety of songs here. Hum hallelujah, like it has in past years, came out as number 1! Interestingly, despite Folie being the fan favorite and alleged best album, only one Folie song is present here, with a majority of them being from Infinity on high!
And with that, the 2023 fall out boy census has come to a close. Once again, thank you all for participating in this and indulging me and my love for data and statistics lmao! i really do hope this is as enjoyable for everyone else as it is for me. i look forward to year 4 next year, as by then we'll have an entirely new album to add to the mix! mwah <3

Ten headcanons about spinner please
well you asked so nicely. okay!
10) i think i've already mentioned this in the past and some fics but despite what you expect from someone with reptile associations he's not anymore affected by the cold than any other warm-blooded person. and he knows it's a silly thing to get sensitive about but well when people assume he gets a bit heated!! so to say!!
9) he first learned how to use a knife, and in particular knife throwing tricks, from his mom, who is most of the born and bred country rep in his family and grew up with very little else to do and really needed a cool party trick. between her and toga, knife-throwing is his only surefire way to bond with women.
8) who is the biggest bara rep in league of legends. idk mordekaiser looks promising. in any case spinner's first glimmer of realizing that he is gay was accidentally stumbling upon LoL bara doujinshi, on the internet. somehow the continuing fascination for bara did not translate to real life where he keeps going gaga for weird skinny weirdos with disappointing t&a (UNTIL shigaraki's ujiko-provided glow-up)
7) his backup plan for going to the city after seeing stain on tv if he failed to find and join the league of villains was just to hit all the clubs and get laid. but as a virgin and hikkikomori he was very nervous about this option and was kind of relieved that he could just join a terrorist group instead.
6) i used this one in a fic too lmao. as a kid his claws were filed down regularly so that other kids and the rest of the town didn't freak out and think he was gonna gut them. cuz they're evil. as part of the headcanon of it all he does have weird hang-ups and
5) backseat gamer. like, pathological. much like myself as a child watching my stepbrothers play zelda or conker's bad fur day, he will sit over shigaraki's shoulder (and anyone else's i guess but he's literally so under-socialized he doesn't know anyone else who plays videogames irl. sad!) and be like i wouldn't have done that. you're supposed to go over there. why aren't you using all these cheat codes that i know (they don't work). thankfully shigaraki is cool with this cuz he loves to argue. i actually consider this canon enough given that we have now seen spinner hanging over shigaraki's shoulder as he's playing games.
4) were a tumblr equivalent to exist in bnhaverse spinner would have an account and he would try to be crazy stealth and not have it associated to any other social accounts ever and he would be a hater on it and you could not pay him to commit voter fraud for something against his morals (shipping polls) (he would have voted destiel!! he knows he is cas-coded!!) but he would create so many dummy accounts manually by hand HIMSELF like a hard worker to influence results as much as he could. without paying people. or getting bots. he has a pure hater soul.
3) related to the above spinner is a constant hater online. people ask him what does he ever like and he just regurgitates whatever video essay he watched recently that had a nice thing to say. but his hater stances are 100% original. not to say that he never Likes something about anything but he's dogshit at expressing it.
2) part of his issues is that he was very unintentionally detached from any other of his heteromorph-related family that he could relate to (a lot of the family was probably located in cities) aside from whatever parents or siblings, which contributed further to his feelings of isolation from the community he grew up in, and his heteromorphic traits were just enough more apparent compared to the immediate family that he was more targeted by the community he grew up in. so he's both discriminated and marginalized by the community, and has a harder time finding solace in his family to cope.
1 ) i must once again stand by spinner's hybistrophilia. like really specifically his true fantasy is a cool suave older man who does a lot of serial killing and is willing to take spinner under his wing and say ah i see you have a lot of potential. but then he fell in love with shigaraki. that's how you know it's true love. i guess you can argue that shigaraki is an old soul.

Vol. I-V Ep. 1-15
I chose Jack to couple up with because Oakley can’t take a joke about being a fireman… sorry but it is hot. In both senses of the word 😅 sorry not sorry! But also Jack liking dogs and gardening was such a great initial common interest thing to go on.
Sophie/Jack & Luna/Jin are replaceable after you pick your guy. Whichever couple stays are buttheads to you.
Jack is ok, but more serious than I thought he would be. I miss Jin’s humor so much. I have to say that even with most of the same dialogue choices/banter between us, there is no spark. Which does makes me going full on for Max an easier decision.
Vol. VI Ep. 16-18
Again I did not flirt at all with Hari, but I did pick the options for saying I missed Jack so it pretty much went the same. I’m really just plugging along until Casa… which is next 😆
Vol. VII Ep. 19-21
CASA TIME!! I am choosing all the gem options to get with Max. ALL OF THEM! Bring it on!
E19: Straight away, the fill in the blank game gem option I picked was the “smooch a boy” and wow what a smooch it was! Choosing to share a bed with Max was such a good choice too. He is so flirty and cute! Telling me what he likes was sexy and I agree with them 😏
E20: ooh raunchy races! And this time I actually kissed the others (except Liam cuz I have standards lol) and I did the gem option to win and had another epic smooch with Max 😘
E21: Winners party was fun. The sipping game was fun and the gem selection scene was incredible if you kept flirting *chef’s kiss* Loved sitting with Max and talking and getting to know each other more. He is so flirty and I love it. Slept with him again and did bits with him that night. Worth it! He’s amazing! 😏
Vol. VIII Ep. 22-24
E22: This is where I started to fall for Max in my first playthrough (w/o any diamond scenes & then I started replaying for his), but getting to keep the previous options and choosing the new one was even better. He just gave serious butterflies during the date. Telling about the smile lines, going over the “words” on MC, cuddling in his arms, sweet story of him paying for a girlfriend’s parents to visit even though he was saving, playing with her hair. Ugh my heart! I’m so smitten with him 🥴
E23: We smashed it at the Mr & Mrs game! And I loved all the flirty things we did and said to each other during. More annoyed when Luna took Max. Definitely called her out this time for picking him.
E24: Last night at Casa. Yay! Obviously spent the night with Max and I think it was even better since I got to have all the earlier moments with him too. And hearing him recap them all the next morning and how mushy he was about them all was sweet. He’s just perfect 🫠
Vol. IX Ep. 25-27
E25: This is a short episode. Most compatible with Max of course! Yuck to Liam. Pushed him in the pool again 😜
E26: Brought Max back and walked in holding hands. Sorry Jack. Told Max I’m into him. Obvs! Didn’t argue with Sienna when she wanted to steal Jack. Go right ahead.
E27: Pool party was much less awkward since I’m focused on Max and don’t care what Sienna does. Liam’s question and Luna’s deflection ruined the mood of course. Then Jack asked me that very important question about cracking on in casa…
Vol. X Ep. 28-30
E28: I started this episode off with a big old LIE - told Jack I did nothing at Casa (for reasons that pay off later) Snogged and married Max! Pied Liam cuz who else is worth this one?! And then I sexily pied Max with the extra pie. Yum 😜
E29: Ahhh couple drama! Everyone lying to their partners about Casa stuff. So messy… So glad I’m with Max because we are golden!!
E30: Couple Goals 2.0 was fine. Pretty much the same results except Max and I got voted most likely to marry this time and I’ll take it! And the terrace scene… holy moly Batman 🔥 I loved it and didn’t have to feel bad because he’s my couple and the one I want 😍
Vol. IX Ep. 31-33
E31: MOVIE NIGHT!!! woohoo drama!! Max’s two scenes were so sweet I almost got a toothache 🥰 I have to say that I actually kept the secrets this time around because I wanted to see everything unfold at movie night which was fine… Until we got to mine and holy shit did FB go all out with what they showed! 🫣
E32: Boys choice recoupling and this is why I lied to Jack… he does not pick me because of that lie - which does kill me inside, but I want Max. Only Max. And again, the only time I will thank Liam for anything - so glad he got cream all over us so we could have another amazing spicy scene 🥵
E33: The scene is much funnier with Sienna if you’re coupled with Max because she really thinks we care if she tells Jack?? Like ok whatever floats your boat honey! 🤣 The heart rate challenge is all good this way too. Sienna can have Jack all she wants and she stays away from Max! But OMG Jack’s superhero outfit is so bad 😂 like how could they do that do him?!
When Jin said his dream was to run in a marathon and wanted MC to join him, I almost died. My friend has been trying to get me run with her for over a year but I would rather go on a date with Liam than run anywhere 🤣 BUT Max wanting to go to a concert in the outdoor amphitheater in the mountains of Colorado?? Count me the fuck in 😅 I googled it and it looks awesome!

volume V thoughts bc once again fusebox has got me intrigued
first of all omg wtf
I usually end up reading a few spoilers before I play bc I'm bored at work but don't wanna play the volume until I get back but I had such a busy day at work I didn't do that and wow ok I gotta avoid spoilers more often I was shook
so excess baggage was okay. like yeah makes sense we want the couples to be tense again before voting the couple superlatives thing, but also such a throwaway. (and also I talked about this in my post about last volume, but we have so many challenges in a row!! why)
since my MC did initially flirt with Oakley a lot more than Jin, I do think it's funny Oakley talks about how cool MC's secret is (like it's annoying fs but also something I've seen happen on love island to create small drama but then ultimately it's just talk so it's nice to have that happen here).
Also i was worried Oakley was gonna turn on us or flirt with us and abandon Emel, so I'm very glad he was just asking for advice. (I'm a big Oakley and Emel fan, what can I say?) I'd be okay if that led into a different storyline where you could pursue Oakley later, but with how fusebox has been making the seasons lately, once you pick you've made your choice and I do miss in for example s2 where even if you don't pick Lurik when they first become available you have a chance the next recoupling and it feels like it changes your route.
Jack is still mad at MC??
Couples game was fun. I wish fusebox formatted it so you discuss with your partner and then make a choice before everyone revealed their answers instead of people talking and explaining before the player picks their answer. Like we know the characters already, just let me pick and we can see who agrees.
Oakley's evening wear outfit 😍 best dressed boy fs
I of course could never bear to see Oakley and Emel go, but I surprisingly actually missed Sophie and Jack as soon as they left but like in a me missing Allegra and Miles/Jasper when they left. Like yeah they were irritating but they brought drama and I understand where Allegra/Sophie is coming from (and I support women's wrongs lol)
Jin going through his main character of S6 arc??? No but fr I can't imagine why the public would vote him out so he's either hiding something that's gonna come out when he gets back or he was voted most popular and is gonna come back soon. I hope it's not casa because (1) that already happened in s6 and (2) I want the chance to flirt around with new characters in casa lol. I've seen a few theories around and I have no idea which is true but if I could throw in another idea which is post casa, MC is finally with a bombshell, Claudia/Theo, or a casa boy and things seem good but Jin and Luna show up together as returning islanders and MC has to choose between Jin and her current LI.
It's so interesting for drama, like ik I'm here for it. But a lot of people like loyal routes so I hope yall are doing okay
I was like half hoping we could walk out with him even though of course fusebox isn't giving us that option but like I wish he said something like hey you just got here, enjoy your time at the Villa and I'll wait out there for you no matter what happens. just to explain why MC wouldn't leave. that being said, their goodbye was so sweet.
One thing that's different in the game than the show is the number of islanders present at once, which makes sense its hard to keep track of all of them (though they've done it before in s2), and it just is weird bc now the people in the Villa are MC (single), Claudia and Theo (who don't like each other), and Emel and Oakley (only one couple).
despite my complaint about the challenge thing this is great pacing/timing for a new islander. it's just a shame the screwed over Tyler coming in so soon after MC. I can't remember if I already wrote this in my last post but I almost wish he came in with MC and got a better chance.

Your Empires map is so beautiful and detailed, I actually started tearing up going over the close up detail thinking about how much I'm gonna miss this world. I'm seriously considering getting a print, it feels so incredibly like a map of Narnia or Middle Earth or some grand high fantasy, you really knocked it out of the park! The thing I think made me smile most is the little sea monster off the coast of Dawn being (I'm pretty sure) where Impulse built his raid farm. The attention and love put into this really shows.
I'm curious, did the Empires crew give you access to their world map for you to make this so accurate? or are you just that good at piecing it together? It's wild!

In terms of getting it accurate, there were a couple of things that helped. I actually started planning for this map back in October of 2022, even before the crossover! I started with the map that Pixlriffs showed in his very first episode and went through and marked down where some of the CCs had confirmed on Twitter that they were putting their bases, like Pix and Sausage. A few were easy to deduce, like Shelby in the only Mangrove swamp and Lizzie in the only dark oak forest, and both Chromia and Tumble Town were set in distinctive valleys that were easy to spot on the map. You can see Joey's empire from Sanctuary and Stratos is visible from Chromia, so I could find those, and then I guesstimated the rest and posted that to Twitter where, to my surprise, fWhip, Oli and Gem all replied to give me their locations! From there I had the help of my friends on discord to locate Glimmer Grove and Cogsmeade – I remember we found Cogsmeade by seeing how long it took False to fly from her base to Hermitopia and calculating her location from that.

And after establishing the coastline (but before I decided what the map was going to look like) I put the guesstimated Empires locations in. As you can see, this was before Cogsmeade had an official name! I put Ironvale in as a placeholder because it was the option I had voted for :P

I saw a poll a while ago with this question where the most voted option was the bathroom trap from Saw 2004 - yeah, no, I would rot and die in that bathroom just like Adam I’m sorry.
if I had to win one, I might be able to win the mausoleum trap if I was in Art Blank’s place? given that I could use the weapons provided to cut open the stitches over my mouth and once my mouth is free maybe since I have a female voice I’d sound like less of a threat to the guy with his eyes stitched up and I’d attempt to talk him through it and explain things and try to help cut his eye stitches too?? idk 😭😭 if he comes swinging at me like he did with Art, I’m done for tho. for sure.
I think I might be able to win Amanda’s reverse bear trap because it doesn’t involve self mutilation though I struggled to mercy kill even my sick neon tetra (it’s a tiny tiny fish lol) also I feel like unlocking the lock with my jittery ass hands would be my downfall lmaooo

John’s put so many people in traps for the dumbest reasons, and there are so many reasons why he himself should be put in one so like………….

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed glitching. It’s a bit embarrassing to say, but I barely interacted with it in any way that you could see because the format made me feel guilty about reading whump in a way that I hadn’t felt in a long time. That’s a compliment to your writing! Glitching was about being an accomplice and moral choices and I got caught up in it that I stopped participating in the polls after a few posts. I really liked it though.
Since you couldn’t see the likes that I very much wanted to give the series, I’m sending my thanks directly. You are really good at writing, and your specific style is one of my favorites on this site. Your writing is just brutal in a way that a lot of whump writing isn’t, and your characters are extremely compelling/whumpable. I can’t describe exactly what I love about it, but I do love it. You also made glitching really quickly, which is impressive. I’m still in awe of how you made all the different endings for the finale. That must have taken forever.
Was Glitching always going to end the way it did? If the audience had voted to kill Seth at the earliest opportunity, would that have happened? Are there any other pathways that you had planned out that we didn’t get to see? Basically, I loved Glitching and I want to hear all the behind the scenes details that you are willing to share.

this is honestly.... mostly all i wanted to achieve w glitching. (my first objective was to create a whump cyoa story where the options were all bad, bc in all the other ones ppl kept picking the good ones and i was like :| but my whump..? no whump..?) several times i felt like maybe the second person pov is too much and its too real and itll turn everyone off... but then i thought. thats. kind of what i want. i want it to feel a little gross even if its fiction. i wanted to make ppl feel conflicted.
so please dont feel bad about not interacting! i understand how it could feel rly bad and guilt-inducing. im glad u made the decision to stop interacting when u did, its NOT embarrassing in the slightest. this message means a whole lot either way.
hehehehehe im GLAD theyre brutal! thats very much the style i wanna be known for lol and the style i enjoy! i want stuff to be gruesome and disgusting! i want it to be brutal and unforgiving! i want violence! i want gore! and also thank u, im glad my characters r whumpable. especially w glitching, i saw that when other ppl put their cute ocs in situations no one wanted to hurt them, so i was like ok whos my most vile most hated most disgusting oc whom everyone would Love to see be punched in the face- in general i love making my ocs whumpable and pitiful. i love a pitiful little guy
i stopped writing glitching when my exams started at college, and iced it after maybe chapter 8 or 9. then i picked it back up again after i got a 20th message in my inbox abt how ppl miss it, and it successfully forced my hand to finally sit down and just Write. (i do have to be forced to write a lot of the times. it doesnt work for everyone, but it does for me. obviously i can never get in the zone if i dont even open the document yknow. thats why i write a lot of shitty drabbles! it keeps up momentum!) and then i just kept writing. and writing. and writing. trying to get a chapter out every day because i knew what i wanted to do and i wanted to finish it. when it comes to the finale, iiiii decided i wanted to do that whole thing literally 2 days beforehand. my friend told me "wow these options r all good" and i said "i know i kinda wanna see all of them too". and the idea was born. the seed was planted. the bug was in my fucken ear.
so the next morning i checked the poll on chapter 13, and saw that of course the option to keep seth alive was winning by far. so i wrote that in advance. then i started writing out the endings for the finale. i managed to get maybe 3 of them done. then the next day i finished the other 6, tweaked the earlier ones, all that. i uploaded them all, posted everything privately, fiddled forever w the links (which i knew were likely gonna break anyway-) and THEN WHEN THE TIME CAME I WANTED TO MAKE ONE LAST EDIT AND ACCIDENTALLY POSTED IT. so i had to unprivate everything in a fucking frenzy like OH MY GOD PPL WONT UNDERSTAND I RUINED IT I RUINED EVERYTHING. but anyway yes it took me like 2 days of writing and editing but the response was soooooo worth it. ppl were so so so kind to me. it was honestly amazing.
one thing abt me, i started planning my stories At All in the last few months. before that, Nothing. and especially w smth like glitching, where the audience's decision influences the next chapter and i cant plan ahead, i didnt even bother. whatever the audience chose was always gonna happen. if they chose to exit the stream on the very first poll, i wouldve ended it. im serious. i thought abt pulling "you try to exit but it doesnt work" but then i was like. no. ppl can have one (1) chance to turn their heads away if they want, as a treat. i wouldve written a chapter about the debilitating guilt and lifelong "what if" feeling, and that wouldve been it. as for the earlier murder options, yes! i wouldve gone thru w it at any time. starting from maybe the 6th chapter (or whenever i brought in the murder option) the audience held the power to end the stream and seth's suffering. they chose not to. but they couldve.
one option that i wanted that never got chosen was the baseball bat. im obsessed w beating someone to the point of broken bones w a baseball bat. so when the ending was getting nearer and nearer, i thought about simply disregarding the last poll and writing a single chapter where the host goes "i respected the choices u made up until now, but this time, im making the decision". but i was like. no fuck that. this is an interactive story all about being able to choose ur own decisions. i just asked the audience to supply me w puppy seth commands, citing how it was interactive. i couldnt just go and ignore that two chapters later, yknow? plus as u said it kind of all hinged on the feeling of "i did this. im responsible". so if i took that responsibility away in the last second IN THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION OF ALL it wouldnt have been good enough
most of the time i just kept giving the options i really wanted to write, and eventually, ppl picked them. it was a good story in the sense that the order didnt matter too much. i could give the same options, and the host was still able to carry them all out.
some more behind the scenes- i thought about revealing the host's identity multiple times. i thought about making them someone the audience already knew (like ren, my friend's oc who greatly inspired the character from the very first chapter), or someone who couldve been vaguely familiar but unknown (a former friend of pumpkin?), but in the end i just settled on the mystery. especially since i decided to give it a paranormal twist. i couldve NEVER made a better reveal than the mystery itself. never ever. some things dont have to be revealed.
but yeah! thats that. i rly enjoyed glitching, i loved the response i got (it was by far the most popular story ive ever posted on here w the most tags and comments and asks), and i loved how i managed to do the finale. it was concise, i can say i finished another story, and its just all around a great time. thank u so much for ur message !!!

It's funny because I read this and I was like aw, poor Roman, he's not even mentioned! And then I was like ... wow, I totally forgot about Connor. And I just did a rewatch.
Something I found interesting is when Logan is "piss mad" and Kendall is yelling
he's genuinely upset that Kendall is upset
and in fact wants to yell at whoever made "Frank" upset because only he can be nasty "Frank"
and that, I think, epitomizes Logan's relationship to all of his children (less so Connor but that's because Connor isn't trying to be a successor) but especially Kendall. He can be nasty to Kendall but no one else -- including Kendall and it usually is Kendall -- can be nasty to Kendall so for instance,
In season 1, he can plant stories about Kendall and tear him down
but he also wants to make sure that Kendall isn't tearing himself down
In season 2 ... first, I want to say, we don't actually know what happened, but Logan blames himself for whatever happened to his sister
so I actually think that when the waiter died and Kendall felt that tremendous guilt, Logan understood what that felt like and had as much empathy as someone like him could feel about the situation because of it
I also think Logan doesn't know how to love without control. So, when Kendall was basically Pod Ken and did everything Logan said no question, knew his role, was a good little soldier, effectively paid him fealty
he was more overt with his affection and his favour
(this framing is also important because it also shows that he has Kendall trapped)
and defends him from the others
but the minute Kendall starts pushing back or does something Logan considers out of line, even if it's a slip of the tongue, even if Kendall doesn't mean to be insulting, Logan is going to tear him down to build him back up. So, with the whole Rhea situation, Kendall deigns to ask Logan if he knows what he's doing
and Logan takes offence to that and counters with making Kendall go to the waiter's house with him to see his parents
tearing him down while simultaneously reminding him that they're "in this together"
making him interact with the parents, and then attempting to alleviate him of his guilt because he doesn't want Kendall tearing himself down
and then in the next episode, while he messes around with Rhea a bit, he backs off (which is definitely also because of her)
and he also stops seeing Jennifer after convincing her to leave the play because Logan doesn't approve.

so yeah, their relationship is all over the place because Logan is a narcissist and it’s full of contradictions.

Was randomly in the mood to read a Tadashi Lives/Hiro Dies au for BH6, but then I remembered that I was never able to find a good one bc all of the fics were just boring remixes or even outright retellings of the movie's plot with Tadashi in Hiro's role. So since I'm in the mood for outlining and also super bored here's my vision of what a good "Hiro dies instead of Tadashi AU" would look like:
(this is split into acts bc apparently Tumblr has a character limit and this got unspeakably long lol)
Act One
A little before the fire starts, Hiro runs back into the school for whatever reason and is in the building when it explodes. Obviously he doesn't make it and of course Tadashi is completely devastated.
Most fics I read showed Tadashi falling into a depressive funk the way Hiro did in canon. I actually think he would react the opposite way: Hiro was so brilliant that he lost motivation easily bc it was so hard to seriously challenge himself, but Tadashi strikes me as the sort of person who needs to Do Something when things go to shit. So in this AU he becomes a workaholic, working on a brand new project that requires a LOT of time and effort.
Tadashi's new project is an "emergency bot" (aka EB-1) that is basically a more proactive version of Baymax centered around search and rescue. EB-1 will be capable of saving people from car accidents, natural disasters, and yes, fires. Tadashi is obsessed with completing it and forgoes everything else.
Unfortunately Baymax is pushed to the wayside by Tadashi, as just looking at him brings up memories of Hiro that are currently painful. A small running gag is that Baymax keeps inflating when he senses Tadashi being self-destructive (ie every ten minutes) and Tadashi keeps shutting him down, until finally Tadashi brings him back to Cass's place and leaves him there.
Tadashi's friends are more heavily involved this time around since this is one of their best friends. They do everything in their power to make him take care of himself, but he's heavily resisting because he is Going Through It and refuses to relinquish his unhealthy coping mechanisms.
A couple of weeks after Hiro's death, Tadashi is snooping around town in search of a good place to field test the EB-1, and he happens upon the warehouse that's hosting Callighan's microbot making operation. Tadashi accidentally tips off Kabuki Man while getting some pictures and barely escapes Kabuki Man's clutches.
Furious that someone has apparently stolen his little brother's tech and is mass producing it, Tadashi gets his friends involved. They're initially skeptical even with the pictures (which are terrible quality lol), but Tadashi convinces them to come see the warehouse with him so he can prove himself. Since they get a jump start this time, they end up catching Kabuki Man red-handed as he's still moving the microbot-making equipment.
Obviously Kabuki Man chases Team Tadashi, and there's a brief chase scene. However, Tadashi came prepared: he brought EB-1 (hastily modified to have some fighting prowess) and unleashes it on Kabuki Man for its first "test run." EB-1 successfully fills all its initial parameters before Kabuki Man bails, which Tadashi is excited about - his invention works! His friends are considerably less excited about all this and vote to go somewhere to recuperate.
Safe at Fred's house (because we NEED that reveal), Tadashi and his friends put their heads together to figure out their options. One thing leads to another, and the five of them end up pinning Krei as a main suspect - not necessarily as Kabuki Man himself, but definitely as someone who might be involved.
One fic I read was such an unoriginal rehash that it literally repeated movie scenes verbatim with Tadashi speaking Hiro's lines (AU authors please don't do this) BUT the one place it did try to be original was by replacing Hiro's gadgets-making montage with Team Tadashi literally flying up to Krei's office on the top floor (using Baymax no less) and interrogating him, and I honestly can't think of a more ic way for the group to go about it. If you asked me "what would a bunch of tired and desperate STEM majors do when they need to talk to a rich businessman they can't contact" that would be it lmao.
Interrogating Krai goes about as well as you'd expect: he refuses to give them any information, but does make a compelling enough argument that Team Tadashi is forced to leave him alone. Tadashi still doesn't trust him but reluctantly rules him out as a Kabuki Man suspect. However, Krei accidentally drops a couple clues about Silent Sparrow that will become relevant later.
Team Tadashi dejectedly calls it quits, and the team tries to convince Tadashi to focus his energy elsewhere. But Tadashi isn't giving up just yet.

Retiring from Miraculous
Hello everyone, so if you all saw my recent post or if you saw my post on my main blog, I announced that I will be officially retiring from the Miraculous fandom as well as the show for good.
I'm really sorry to those who followed me and only liked me for Miraculous content, but after hearing about how the recent episodes of Miraculous have been (*coughDerisioncough*), I don't see the show improving or getting better anytime soon nor do I see myself enjoying it the more it continues. Especially with how the recent season has been nothing but: Multiple retcons, terrible character development, scenes cut from the final version for the most stupidest reasons ever and to make the show have bigger plot holes than ever, inconsistent writing, and lackluster plots, I really don't see myself following through with it anymore.
However,
I won't be officially retiring at the moment!
Yep, even though I do plan on retiring from Miraculous, I won't do it for a long time for these 5 reasons:
I wanna rewatch the entire series until I start on S5 since I'm waiting for the whole season to drop at once. I mainly wanna see what still holds up and what doesn't after these 8 and a half years the show has run for. (And I think we can all agree which ones didn't age the best)
I mainly wanna watch S5 to see if I can use it as a rewrite for some of my AUs; mainly The Lost Miraculous. I know this one might be tricky to do since from what I heard, S5 did retcon a lot of characters and plots, so I'm not entirely sure if I can rewrite the whole season, but I do plan to add a few new elements to my rewrite if I ever do.
Speaking of AUs, that's another reason why I won't retire immediately from the show: I'm still hoping to use it as a source of inspiration for my AUs as I still wish to write them. Mainly The Queen Bee and the Vesperia, The Lost Miraculous, The Undercover Tales of Rena Furtive and Invisible Hornet, The Bee Sisters Duo!, Bug and Wasp Game, A Fox and Her Club, and more!
I'm incredibly excited for the Awakening movie coming out this July, and I do hope that it will at least be one last hope for the show to get better. If not, then I guess we can call that one the real canon while ignoring the show itself, LOL.
I still wanna post some of my views on Chloe and Zoe themselves.
All in all, while I won't necessarily retire from the show permanently (as of now), I will be saying goodbye to it as time goes by because it's about time I move on and start looking through other shows that have similar Magical Girl themes.
Speaking of which, I made a poll on my main blog asking people what should be the next Magical Girl show I should try while I wait to end my time with Miraculous, and when I cut ties with it. If you wish to vote, please click right here.

I've been thinking about his plight. He COULD have some hope.
After all- if approximately 1.2million people decided to lower his sentence, he could get out. He has a chance, right?
I mean, sure, that's going to need AT LEAST a million people to know about it AND care enough to click a link. Still possible, right?

This is very good! Thank you. When I first set up the lock, my slave complained that the odds were stacked against him, with the option for people to add 125 days or remove 1 day from the lock.
The initial idea was for people to give him a task, then they would remove a day as a reward, and the more tasks he completed the more days would be removed, but he shied away from some of the more humiliating suggestions hence the long chaster lock he has ended up serving now.
Slave has seen this post, and his face says it all.
But no. I agree with you. He still has a chance of freedom. Lol!

I used my idol :c. Sad. Didn’t find it today either. And so my hunt begins. I doubt I’ll find it again but one can hope. I have a suspicion that Trinica has an idol but I can’t be sure. She says she doesn’t and that she’d tell me if she had one but I just do not know if I can trust that. Anyway I was violently ill last night so it is what it is.
In other news this challenge looks like the bane of my existence. I really really hope I can find some good loteria because it is not looking good for me if we lose.

Title: "Word fucked"
After a round of many VICTORIOUS VICTORY VAGANZA, Sin Sazonar has suffered another lost pre-merge. It was anticipated for sure. With 5 people there was little room to hide. Thankfully I had good working relationships with Trinica and Clefford (3 person chat created by Clefford). It was tough because there was 2 options either voting Tanner to keep the tribe strength for challenges and remove someone that is 100% loyal to us (well me at least) or voting AJ out and risk potentially losing the next challenge (which what could be the last tribe challenge before merge, OR SO WE THOUGHT) but having a threat at merge phase.
Discussions with Trinica and Clefford were definitely had and we went back and forth. ALWAYS MAKE A FAILSAFE PLAN which in this scenario was to ensure that neither of us got votes in case of any advantage(s). Since Tanner has been bringing up AJ's name, making sure that's what Tanner did getting AJ to vote for Tanner. I stand by my decision that Tanner does not deserve a 4-1 vote so I placed my vote on AJ. LITTLE DID WE KNOW AJ PLAYED AN IDOL (Gooped).

Hey there, I'm back! So, a lot happened.
On New Sin Sazanor, Hairie, Trinica, and I lost the Chain Reaction challenge so we went to tribal council. Hairie wanted to vote out AJ, because coming to merge she would be unpredictable. I decided Tanner, because we needed AJ for the following challenge, so Tanner's gone with AJ wasting an idol for herself.
The four of us worked together for the True Cost challenge, because we don't want to comeback to tribal. Surprisingly, we merged and I won the challenge together with Raffy and Adeline and are safe from the upcoming tribal.
I told everyone in my OG Sin Sazonar that we should stick together for atleast 1 or 2 more tribals against OG Antigua. They all agreed, so I created the Do Not SS alliance consisting of Adeline, AJ, Arvin, Brandi, Hairie, Trinica, and I.
I also had game talks with Amy and Raffy. Both hosted my first season here on Stings, Raccoon City. I'm trying to get to work with them in the future. Hopefully. Jinx and I are talking and clearing the air between us. I'm honestly most scared of them. When I saw the cast reveal, they were the first person that caught my attention. I even said to myself that I'm doomed.
On the good side, I am happy that Jay approved my suggestion for our merge tribe name, Sin Tiempo, meaning Timeless.
Raffy
Firstly, Clefford is so bad at being fake lol. Tell me why he promised a Final 2 with Amy and with me separately saying how we should work together and protect him. And in the same breath was like "I don't talk game with anyone except you and Amy." Then what about all of pre-merge??? You worked with no one???? Such an obvious lie and for what. Not to mention Trinica telling me that Clefford starting a new School alliance? Fuck outta here man. He's a snake in the grass that can't even slither right. I definitely want to get him gone as soon as I am able to.
Trinica and I had a lovely call. I explained everything on my side and Trinica explained how she doesn't trust Clefford and is tired of juggling between Hairie and AJ. We agreed to work together and wanted to start taking out the people who are just numbers for Clefford. Trinica thinks AJ is close to Clefford so we wanna vote AJ. But apparently Hairie and AJ made up for whatever reason and they wanna stick "tribe strong" (whatever the fuck that means). I also offered up Arvin and Maddison since Arvin is just a number for Hairie and Maddison is just a number for Zo (two people we also wanna start restricting power from). I just do not want Clefford to have control of these people's brains. They have to know that he will cut them at a moment's notice for any reason

Well anyway I made merge and jury which was my goal hahaha so I won’t be surprised if I’m the vote here. I wish that we had one more swap vote to even out numbers tbh. Someone should play an idol for me.

Jay was so real for that twist and made it an individual challenge instead of a tribe challenge. Skip to results, we merged and 3 people won individual immunity. I'm so mad I shared some cheaper cost items because I was under the impression that we needed to, I REPEAT ... WE NEEDED TO WIN AS A TRIBE because going to tribal with 4 of us was going TO PROBABLY BE THE TRIBAL OF ALL TIMES.

Shit I'm going to do bullet points here
- 6 old schoolers, 7 new schoolers.
- 13 people, 3 immune.
- Both idols on both camps are not found (at the time).
- Tres Leches Cake is potentially an extra vote if you can find a pen or ink to write it on.
- The market changes its product?????.
- Jinx mentioned targeting Clefford.
- Hairie mentioned targeting AJ.
- Raffy and Adeline has beef.
- Clefford has been going around making F2/3 deals with several people, one being Raffy which Trinica told me and I heard it from AJ as well but then Raffy declared to me.
- OG Tribe chats were created.
- Arvin told Clefford about Jinx targeting them, but Trinica ASSUMES it was me LMAO.
- 4 person chat of myself Brandi Raffy and Trinica was created.
- Me and AJ made up and called it a truce. I do believe her here and IF SHE SCREWS THIS UP, I'm going to be so mad AJ (YES I BOLD IT SO WHEN SHE READS IT SHE KNOWS HOW I FEEL POST GAME).
- Trinica said Raffy and old schoolers want AJ gone but I do not want that. I need AJ around as a shield because if AJ goes, I'm probably next. So we need to work together. I told AJ her name was going around and not to mention it to anyone. Did she do that? Nope, as soon as she have conversations with people, it gets leaked what she says. Raffy told me Trinica and Brandi this. AJ WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING? I TOLD YOU TO LAY LOW. If this goes wrong, you went home because you can't keep a tight lip.
- I told Brandi Raffy Trinica that I would prefer if AJ stays for a few more rounds, and that we should take out some one else. The name was Maddison.
- In hopes of wanting to work with Colin, I learnt it the HARD WAY THAT COLIN IS A RAT - Told by many others. I should have listened. So what had happened here was that I told Colin that I heard Maddison's name > who then WENT RUNNING to the old school's chat and said I am leaking information. UHM HELLO ?! The one time I decide to be honest and show some trust to new people I'm meeting, they did that.
- Adeline then told me that Colin told Adeline. Surprise surprise Colin, I'm not the only leak here.
- At least from that, I learn I cannot trust Colin this game.
- Perhaps because of this I may get voted out, perhaps not. We shall see. I'll be upset if I go but whatever.
Others:
Clefford opened up more about how he got into Stings and what happened during his first season.
Zo is just a fucking epic human being and so fun to talk to. The boat story LEGEND.
Trinica has an idol, worked with me to get this.
Raffy has shown interest in working together.
AJ and me have made up and at the moment, we have called it truce till we get to single digits.
Amy has the coolest job ever.
Brandi is someone I hope I have placed right trust with. She's trustworthy and I hope she feels good to share more with me than to Raffy and Trinica.
Jinx is vibing. I do see they're communicating more to me this round.
Adeline I appreciate as she's been honest enough (or at the right time) to tell me things. However, I do not know where we stand long term.
Maddison - Not applicable
Colin - Great vibes until I gave him cheese (literally a picture of French fries drenched in cheese)
Arvin is as loyal and purest cast we have here. Loyal to a fault.
Hairie - That's me. Still unhinged.

I did want an AJ vote, but it seems like the people we would need (namely Hairie) do not want to get rid of her just yet. I will deal with it. Instead, I want a Maddison vote, but Colin said he doesn't want to vote out Maddison. It's tough because when you force Colin to do something he does not want to do then they will turn on you. Somehow I have to either placate or convince him. I think placating by having him choose someone to vote out next would be best, but that wouldn't really work for my game since I know they'll pick someone I plan on working with (namely Brandi). Honestly, maybe working with Colin is not worth it? We seem to be going in very different directions in this game with who we like, who we want to work with, etc. They told me that they actually liked Clefford (because they flirt) and like AJ's chaos. I am certainly sweating lol. It's time to put some distance between us in a way that won't affect my game. I do kind of have a boot order planned already which is insane I know. Phase 1: AJ, Arvin, Maddison. Phase 2: Clefford, Zo, and Adeline. Phase 3: Hairie, Colin, and Trinica. I think I could safely get to F3 if the F4 was me, Jinx, Amy, and Brandi. But this is just an ideal boot order. I'm sure there will be many bumps in the road. Right now, Phase 1 is active. Get rid of Arvin and Maddison, two goat-ish people who aren't my goats nor are loyal to me. And then start the train of big threats by getting rid of AJ. Honestly, maybe getting rid of Adeline early would be good too since I think Colin might work with Adeline and Zo. Nip that in the bud. Phase 2 is really just get rid of all the big threats that aren't my allies. Phase 3 is get rid of my allies until it's just my goats. I wonder if I'd have enough sway power in that case lol.
I told Hairie all about my suspicions of Clefford. I don't know if he bought it. But I felt it was fair to expose a lot of my hand to reveal trust with Hairie. He and I mutually exposed the tribal lines alliances we are in as well. If I can get Hairie to turn on Clefford, that would be such a good move on my part. I'm putting in the work early.

SURPRISE MERGE? FUCK YEAH!
The way I am so relieved to at least have options. I mean fucking finally right. Best that would have happened if we went to tribal at 4 is rocks unless Trinica or Clefford flipped. I’m so glad to be back with Jinx and Raffy and also everyone on Antigua seems friendly for now but I have to keep in mind they’ve been at this a lot longer than I have.
So far I feel good that Raffy will have my back, idk why but I trust him. And hell maybe I shouldn’t but I do for now and we’re at jury so I feel like I can be a bit more chaotic now. Also JINX! I’m so happy we’re merged together like aaaaah. Didn’t know about Colin but I’m feeling alright about him having my back too. Clefford I’m on the fence about. Boi literally said he’s keeping me around as a shield so that’s never good.
I have a massive suspicion that I can’t trust Hairie. If Trinica is right, and I believe she is on this one, then Hairie was pushing for me to go home instead of Tanner. Which makes sense bc, why else would Tanner have put my name? There was nothing to distrust before this. Clefford said he was voting Tanner, which he told Hairie and Trinica. So the only way Tanner would have heard my name is from someone he trusts (read: Hairie).
Anyway I’m hoping I can make enough connections quickly enough that come Tribal Council I don’t go home. I really have no idea what’ll happen though. So far I’ve not heard from Amy or Maddison. I don’t think I can trust Hairie or Brandi at this point, sad as it is. Also my other concern is, I have no idea where the lines in the sand are. Like who is and isn’t working with who. Have a feeling we’re about to find out though at tribal. I just hope I’m not KO’d in the crossfire. Being Mayor of Ponderosa is fun but not THAT fun.
Raffy
This merge tribe is going to be an interesting one for me. Firstly, I’ve been reunited with Zo and Maddison, two people of which I have never actually worked with in this game since I was shut out immediately by the self-proclaimed “woman’s alliance.” Colin said that he trusts Zo and Maddison, but I don’t. They won’t necessarily vote me out, but they’ll play around me which I don’t care for. However, they’re not the people I’m targeting early cause Colin needs them for votes and by extension me too. Secondly, I think I made Adeline a little mad with my joke about them winning in the tribe chat. Hopefully I didn’t make an enemy, but, if I did, at least I have a first target lol. Thirdly, Jinx has reunited with Colin, but also with Clefford. I wonder if they’ll forget about Colin and just go after Clefford. Or if after Clefford is gone, start going for Colin again. Tricky situation for me. In any case, keeping Clefford around may make him my shield so the rivalry between him and Jinx can take the heat off of Colin and I. Fourthly, I’ve reunited with Hairie and he does not want AJ in this game lol. He said as much on a tribe call. So that’s another rivalry that could work to my advantage. Lots of rivalries in this season! Fifthly, we had a tribe call where not only did Hairie said what he did, but Jinx also admitted to be targeting Clefford to an audience of Trinica, Hairie, Colin, and Arvin (maybe Zo, idk if she was there at that point). I’m sure that information will get back to him at some point today. Sixthly, Clefford immediately came into my DMs being like “you have to protect me.” But, like, I know you Clefford. You probably already have a Final 3 that you’re going to cut at Final 5 in favor of two goats. You wanna win as badly as I do so will never take me to the end. However, he can believe we’re working together for the moment. I just have to find the right time to take him out. Idk who my target is gonna be. Maybe Arvin, maybe AJ, maybe Clefford, maybe Maddison. We shall see.

New information means new thoughts. Allegedly - according to Adeline who heard from Colin - there’s a mutiny pact from OG Antigua to basically not vote each other out and only vote out us new schoolers. I’m not sure how much of that I can trust. Colin was on the bottom of his tribe, Adeline was on the bottom of the new tribe. It may just have been his way of sowing distrust against the Antigua members and making himself a place at merge. Idk. I don’t really know Colin’s MO. Which isn’t great.
But the issue here is, if we vote as Sin Sazonar I’m not in a good position in the end. Hairie, Arvin, Brandi, and potentially Clefford will all work together. Clefford might rope in Adeline too. That leaves me and Trinica as a F7 and F6 elimination. At best F5 and F6. Though that’s doubtful. And who knows maybe Clefford will vote with Trinica and I in that eventuality. If Trinica and I even work together that far. We promised we’d attempt to make merge together and actually work together. But of course now that we’ve done that all bets are off potentially. So I need to see where she and I stand.
I have more friends on Antigua then on Sin Sazonar. Which is good if Hairie truly is/was gunning for me. He might have changed his tune with the new mutiny pact brought to light but who knows. It sucks since I wanted to work with him, but idk if our play styles in this game are compatible. Jinx allegedly fears that she, Trinica, and I will be automatically assumed to be working together. Unsure where she’s getting that idea from but I definitely want to get to the bottom of it. Raffy said “I’d love for you to stay in the game for as long as possible uwu” so I’m hoping that’s a good thing.
But yeah still unsure where everything stands. And I could very well be merge boot. Waiting to see what my merge feast results are and maybe I’ll find an idol today who knows. We shall see, we shall see.

Ok so merge! Kooky crazy of you Jay but I love that I made it this far always my goal every season. It’s really interesting playing with the new schoolers because I find us olds like to make jokes about who we’re targeting like as a joke but it’s actually started some paranoia among them and I’m not gonna correct anyone! Because the more paranoia not around me the easier it is for me to slip by undetected. I think my social game has been pretty peak so far (given that I literally didn’t even submit for the challenge one week and my bonds kept me in the game) so I’m hoping that can carry me through a few more rounds at least.

After a very very long chat with Hairie I feel like we’ve come to a somewhat agreement. At this point if it bites me in the ass it bites me in the ass and there’s nothing I can do about it. But I think we’ve got a good thing going. Apparently contrary to what I thought, it was not Shawn and Brandi (I mean we all knew Brandi was fibbing, let's be real) but it was Trinica and Brandi sharing things with Hairie. Which makes me think Trinica isn’t playing as closely with me as she’d like me to think she is. Do I trust her for now? Yes, in part. But who knows what the future holds.

Ok so I think it's gonna be Maddison vs. AJ. I am voting AJ to keep good with the old school tribe. Though I've successfully planted the seeds to turn people against Clefford so that's a good thing. Most of the day was chill until the old school started their plan to scramble the vote to split the new school votes. It isn't gonna work, but it was cute to try.

I am not hehe hahaing right now. I feel like I could potentially go home tonight. It seems from what I’ve heard collectively that if my name is out there it’s because of Hairie. Which he even point blank admitted to. It seems to me as though maybe he was pushing for me when he thought it was a good idea, but is backtracking now that the news of a mutiny pact came out from Adeline. Now according to Hairie my name was gaining traction among the old schoolers. He allegedly heard it from Raffy; who said to me that he wanted to keep me around “as long as possible.” But how long is what’s possible, yk?
Now according to Trinica Raffy wants to work with us, Jinx wants to work with us, and Colin also is open to working with us. But unfortunately it seems like none of them want to work with each other. Jinx seems to want Colin gone, Colin is scared of Raffy, Raffy I haven’t heard from in that regard and might not know either of these things. Which makes me nervous. The new schoolers seem to want Maddison gone. Which is understandable since she’s very MIA. I liked our little conversation but if it’s her or me then I’d prefer it to be her to go.
Idol hunt business. Unsure what’s happening. I went on a path last night that didn’t get finished since Jay sent the response to my path request at like 3am (understandable). I’m hoping that I can finish that one today and it’ll not count for today’s hunt. Kind of hoping I can find an idol, but allegedly this spot has coins if not an idol, so I could potentially get coins and then get to that pen that I need before tribal council. I’m just crossing my fingers and toes that I get SOMETHING before tribal. Because I really do not want to be merge boot.
We shall see as the day progresses and I talk to more people what is actually going to happen. I’m just really hoping Hairie is wrong about my name being seriously out there. If I were the old schoolers I would have taken that crack and ran with it too, so I don’t blame that for spiraling if it did. Though I would prefer to not be a name allegedly under consideration at all. Something that makes me uneasy though is that when I was on a call with Trinica she said Raffy was saying, paused, seemed to search, and then said it was Adeline he was saying.
Like ok they have beef, that tracks. But then I was like, oh but Adeline is immune. And idk Trinica’s pause after that made me a little suspicious. Was it my name Raffy was saying? Who knows at this point. But I will say if Trinica is playing me again, after the big trust each other thing she said earlier in the game, I’ll probably be upset on a more personal level. Something about that moment is giving CTC, she’s heard my name but didn’t tell me, won’t vote me so technically she’s not voting me out, but is complicit in me going home sort of vibes.
Again who knows who I can trust. I think Trinica no longer trusts Hairie, which is potentially a good thing. Though after the Zee elimination allegedly Hairie, Brandi, and Trinica had a group chat together. Which I accidentally gathered from my conversation with Hairie. Hoping to have another convo a bit later with him, and really right now just hoping I don’t go home. But as always, what happens happens, and I have some time to make sure what happens is that I don’t go home. God I really don’t want to go home.

This is such a different game for me compared to the last time I played Stings. Throwing names out there like nobody's business, spreading people's secrets like wildfire, etc etc. We're here for a chaotic time, not a long time! The funny thing is I don't even think I'm *that* much of a target this round. Like maybe I'm gonna eat shit and I'm the name going around, but I actually think most people think I want to work with them and are willing to keep me.
So what do I actually want to do? WHO KNOWS. I feel deeply terrible about potentially voting AJ, but AJ simply barely talks to me. We fall into this in every game we play together now: She holds her cards so close to her chest they may as well be in her rib cage because I blindsided her ONE TIME, and then she maybe is actually working with me but I CAN'T TELL BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T TELL ME SHIT. She won't ever throw out a name to me or tell me who she's working with because she's worried I'm going to use that info to make her look bad, but like, I was actually open to working with her this game! But then I hear from Hairie that she's bringing up CTC and North Sea as reasons why she's having trouble trusting, and like okay, valid (except for CTC-- I barely did anything there, just let her dig her own grave)... but it also makes me feel like she's holding onto a grudge if she's bringing those games up to other people. So AJ if you're reading this later and I ended up betraying you, I'M SORRY OKAY!! YOU JUST DON'T TALK TO ME!!! Like I lowkey feel like AJ and I can never play another game together because we're both soooOOOOoooo wary of each other.
Hairie is my love but also a chaotic king which makes it hard to work closely with him. My one true love, F2 is probably Brandi. And then I also really would love to work with Jinx again, we just vibe so much. I haven't spoken to Jinx in ages like pretty much since North Sea but we just pick up again like nothing and are having our lil kiki. But Jinx doesn't trust Colin, and I would love to work with Colin. And then Jinx also doesn't trust Raffy??? But I wanna work with Raffy :( Meanwhile I also wanna work with Adeline but Adeline hates Raffy's guts (this is an exaggeration) and I wanna work with Arvin but he doesn't talk to me and I wanna work with Zo but Zo's like apparently the kingpin of Antigua soooo girl idk. Back in the classic Trinica conundrum of everybody's cool, I wanna work with everybody. Idk what my way forward is! Hopefully one of my options just gets taken out and then I don't have to make a choice askdjflakdjfal

Raku Plays Her Faves, Ys VIII: Chapter 1, Part 2
"Did you see that? Was that a person?”
“Let’s investigate! Come, Noble Woman! To the Batcave!”
Last time, Adol found another survivor from the Lombardia ship, a noblewoman named Laxia. After a very cliched awkward introduction, they teamed up in order to further explore the island, and hopefully find other people, either from a nearby settlement or other survivors like themselves. Together they discovered a place for shelter, explored a cave, found a grody pirate skeleton and some slightly less grody loot, learned the power of opening a can of concentrated whoopass, and defeated a big bat monster thing.
With all that out of their way, Adol and Laxia finally exit the cave and find...
It’s Captain Barbaros, eyyy! He’s alive! Although uh, wow sir, thanks for the vote of confidence. Eh. It’s okay. He just doesn’t know that Adol’s beat up evil gods several times before this. (Seriously, you’d think word would get around about him just from the ending of the first game alone, but apparently it hasn’t.)
The captain deduces that they must have washed up on none other than the infamous Isle of Seiren, which makes sense since they were, y’know...right there by the island when the boat was ambushed. AND it’s the title of the chapter.
The three of them travel back to the secure area Adol and Laxia found earlier. The captain wants Adol to continue searching for other possible survivors. He tells Laxia he’d feel better if she stayed behind where it’s safe, but she’s having none of that. Laxia tells him she needs to go with Adol to look for one of her servants, so he relents and says fine, do as you will.
Only, when they start the search a few moments later, Adol asks Laxia what this servant of hers looks like. Right away she admits that she made up the story about the servant purely to convince the captain to just let her go on the search. Seems kind of needless to me when she likely could have got the same results just by sticking to her guns, but whatever.
And speaking of needless, Laxia also tells Adol that not only does she not take the whole “adventurer” job title of his seriously (”You might as well call yourself a tourist or a sightseer!” she says, which to be honest I thought was kind of funny), but he also reminds her of someone she can’t stand. There’s a reason for her outburst, but I can only say that because I’ve played ahead - otherwise it feels like comes out of nowhere. (And you can have Adol tell her, “That’s not fair,” which it isn’t.) But mostly, the story’s just setting her up as one of those tsundere types, as well as Adol’s obligatory Girl Who Falls for Him While He Remains Clueless (or, depending on how you interpret things, Voluntarily Leaves With Dogi After Each Adventure.)
Anyway, soon they find a trail of wide footprints that were recently made. Another survivor, perhaps? They follow the tracks to a little secluded area and...
The good news is, they find this guy. (Hmm...looks familiar, doesn’t he?) The bad news is....
...he’s being chased by a fucking dinosaur.
Honestly though, I’m sad we have to fight it. Look at it, I love that vibrant red color with those green scaly accents. It looks absolutely badass. I don’t want to kill it, I want to ride that fucker into battle. Unfortunately, we don’t get that option.
Instead, Adol and Laxia have to join forces with this mystery man in order to defeat the beast. This’ll be the most difficult boss fight yet, as it’s got no weaknesses, a decent sack of health, is quite fast, and can hit hard. Better use the lock-on button for this fight, because you’ll want to keep an eye on it, especially when it starts charging towards you and your party. But on the bright side, the man you just found is pretty damn strong himself, and he’ll be helping you and Laxia deal additional damage.
(I like how this screenshot turned out, with Adol giving that guy the side eye/”I’m so done with this shit” combo, lol)
After a tough battle with the dinosaur, the man thanks them and, as you can probably tell from the screencap, is one of those instant buddy types. In real life I sometimes find that annoying, but this guy is genuinely cool, possibly even one of my favorite characters in the game. So, aside from being another Lombardia castaway, who is he?
Next time on Ys VIII, we’ll find out and (hopefully) end the chapter on many positive notes.
