I just had the funniest idea where Amy was like "Okay, well, the detective can't be the killer so maybe Silver can be that...?" before changing her mind IMMEDIATELY because putting a completely OP, overly serious, slightly vengeful and one-track-minded hedgie who does not fully understand it's all a game into the role of finding the killer is just asking for someone to get actually murdered in search of the truth lmao

He really hadn’t. 

Where the fuck had that car come from? 

He’s not sure. He’s also not sure if he can feel his left foot. Or how many times the car rolled before deciding it preferred being upside-down. But Neil is hanging next to him, suspended only by his seat belt the same as Andrew. He’s not moving. And more frightening, he’s not running his mouth. Andrew's heart stops.

“Neil. Are you alright?” Andrew asks, afraid of the answer. It takes a second, but Neil slowly turns to look at him with glassy blue eyes. There’s blood trickling down his face from a gash on his forehead, his nose looks sort of weird.

He blinks a few times before saying, “I’m fine. You?”

Idiot. Andrew lets out a relieved sigh. “You’re bleeding.”

“I hit my head on the window a couple times. I’m fine,” Neil insists. “What about you?”

Andrew rolls his eyes and grabs Neil by his shirt, pulling him close. “We took ‘fine’ away from you, remember?” 

“I thought I got it back when I graduated,” Neil says, shrugging. Being upside down makes him look stupid, stupider than usual. But he’s alive. This crash had no casualties. Thank fuck. Andrew feels a very unfamiliar pricking in the corners of his eyes and curses himself for it. He must’ve hit his head, too.

“Yes or no?” He grits out. And Neil nods. Andrew grabs his face, not minding the slightly sticky feeling of blood, and presses careful lips to Neil’s. It's barely a peck of a kiss. Because oh. Andrew can feel his ankle now. But it definitely shouldn’t feel like this. Fuck.

His discomfort must show on his face because Neil is reaching for him. “Andrew, are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” Andrew lies. “But as soon as the EMTs cut me out of here, I’m going to kill the motherfucker that did this to my car.”

So From Eleanor, With Love is the sequel to my fic A View to a Dream! I've picked up and put this fic down a bunch of times, but I'd love to get it fully written out this year. Have a gut punch of a snippet:

Dream puts down the letter, his hands shaking, unable to read any further. This—this is a heavy secret he has been entrusted with.  Eleanor and Hob had met in the accounting department of MI6 almost ten years ago. Hob told Dream that they used to joke all the time about wishing they led more interesting lives as employees of an intelligence agency. Then Eleanor had been murdered. The official story was a case of mistaken identity. Hob had been told—as Dream had been told later—that Eleanor had been targeted because enemies of MI6 believed her to have some specialized weapons knowledge, knowledge that could bring down entire governments. With her death, Hob had been targeted after as a means to determine where she’d kept her files. In addition to miraculously surviving the attempt on his own life, Hob had also taken out his captors, and MI6 had offered Hob the role of a double-0, promising revenge for Eleanor’s unintended death. Which apparently, may not have been so unintended after all. “How can you stand it?” Dream asks Q, though he’s sure he already knows the answer. Whatever Eleanor had been working on, it was important enough to be killed over. And now the duty of that secret was to be passed onto Dream. “After everything that has happened to him after her death, how can you stand to keep this secret?” Q smiles sadly at him. “Read the rest of the letter, and you’ll find out.”

There is nothing wrong with her she is normal

Before dying she was a friendly little weirdo, but her mannerisms were still a bit robotic and she was a little too intense at times to really be approachable. Her quirks made her peculiar to most people, and endearing to some. I imagine her as kinda shy and reserved back in the day, when she was more of a blank slate and not quite sure what her place in the world is. Overall: socially awkward, can be intense and a bit hard to talk to, but sweet in her own way. Quirky 😙 She was slowly easing into being human; by the time of heartbreak she had even started cracking shitty jokes 😌

After coming back from the dead, she acts more “human” in many ways - notably, she’s learned how to be an asshole…! She carries herself with more bravado and confidence that’s initially faked but gradually becomes real. During the time between her 2nd Farm escape and the beginning of Rebirth, Alina threw all her effort into conditioning herself and practicing to act like a “real human”, effectively changing or burying all the traits that set her apart before. Truly a rebirth! She reaaally doesn’t wanna get caught again

The biggest change would be her boldness in social situations. While she might seem much more at ease talking to people now, she's really just better at hiding her discomfort. Nobody comments on the change in demeanour because they assume that the increase in assertiveness/confidence is a good thing - best not to jinx it! She’s just come out of her shell a little, that’s it.

She’s still blunt and insensitive at times, but what’s important is that she learned how to be a really good liar! So good that she does it without noticing; everything she does is to deter suspicion. She makes jokes and teases to diffuse the situation when needed, she puts herself in the role of a washed-up hero past her prime to appear nonthreatening, she dresses a bit goofy and is laid back, showing little of the intensity she carried before. Ain’t no way she’s the newest villain currently beating up the rangers on live television 😙

Here's a little bit of a deleted plotline from Inflection, in which Elrond and Elros took advantage of Maglor's injury to run away from Amon Ereb:

“Eluréd! Elurín!” came the shout in the distance. “Does he know those aren’t our names?” Elros asked. Elrond just shrugged. It was colder than they had expected when they had slipped away, and he was shivering as they perched on a branch halfway up a tree. “Elrond!” Maedhros called again. “Elros!” “Elros,” Elrond said quietly, his teeth chattering, “maybe we should go back.” “Are you mad?” Elros hissed. “This is our chance! Maglor’s dying, and Maedhros doesn’t care what happens to us—” “Then why is he out here looking for us?” Elrond pointed out reasonably. Elros did not want Elrond to be reasonable. “Maybe he wants to kill us,” he suggested — casually, but as soon as he said it he realised how unnervingly plausible it was.

25. Besides writing, what are your other hobbies?

Reading! I have been a bookworm since I was tiny. Now that I am an Adult with Adult Responsibilities I read less than I used to, but I still try to squeeze in some reading time every night before bed. I like to bake, too, and have also discovered I’m surprisingly good at extremely intricate nail art.

28. Your least favourite part of the writing process

Getting the first draft onto the page, I think. It can be pretty disheartening when the image in your head doesn’t come out the same way in words! But that’s what editing’s for.

3: Do you anticipate writing for a new fandom this year? Which one?

I do, actually! I have a little fic that I started after rewatching The Willoughbys at some point last year, and I've been meaning to reread the book and finish writing it for a while. So there'll definitely be that one! Otherwise, any new fandoms I write for this year will be a complete surprise to me.

6: Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?

Ooh! I don't think I've mentioned this on tumblr yet, but I've got the seeds of an idea that involves grungy sky pirates junhao and Minghao turning into a cat! I'd like to iron that one out and start writing it soon!

8: Is there a story idea in your mental vault that you’ve never been brave enough to try writing? Is this the year? Can you tell us about it?

I don't know if you remember this, but when I first started this account I was about 37k into a Stray Kids circus au series. I'd been working on it since I was 16ish, and it was a massive, sprawling thing with so much found family and so many nifty little details; it was going to be my magnum opus.

Then I realised that so many things in the story just... didn't work, and I had to put it to the side until I felt that I could rework it into something I could actually put out into the world, and I... have not reached that point yet.

2024 is a new year! I'll be entering a new decade of my life! (Or closing out one, but the first digit will be different, so it counts.) I hope to be able to do this au justice some point this year.

11: Would you like to try any new fanfic genres or tropes this year?

Ooh, I do have an answer for this one. I've got a few wips that are going to have a non-linear narrative, and while it's not exactly a new genre or trope, it is a very new way of writing for me, and I'm looking forward to giving it a try!

Hi so I saw False playing dodgebolt (zits + hermits Olympics version) and I thought that you would enjoy the information that everyone is scared of False (rightfully) and she was coaching Skizz after she fell, it was incredible, she shot almost all her shots basically was incredible and will go on to do that again in next aprox 10 minutes.

Yeah I listened to a bit!! Dodgebolt queen False! She was like "Skizz for MCC" and "that's my Skizz" and that was so 🥺🥺🥺🥺

If your character(s) were forced to go to a costume party, what would they wear and why? Would they resist and wear their normal clothes, stares be damned, or would they go all out and make it themselves?

Gwynedd’s go-to costume has always been ‘pirate’ which is basically what she usually wears with more accessories like a hat, coat, and maybe an eyepatch. It’s low effort but it still manages to work.

Llewellyn, on the other hand, loves costume parties (All Saint’s Wake is his fav holiday) and likes to get as into it as possible. He’s not good at sewing, though, so a lot of his costumes are bought or made by someone close to him, usually A’mina and/or Riveaux.

Isolde also enjoys costume parties and leans more towards the typical sexy costumes like a scantily-clad maid or a sexy carbuncle.

Only a few! So strap in, and let's get cracking! Some are fluff, and some are suggestive ;) not much, but here's a bit of content!

ZibWick Headcanons:

OOOOOOOOOO boy. All I gotta say is opposites attract in the best way possible.

Oftentimes Wick invites Zib over to drink some fine scotch or gin, and said times end up with both of them tangled in each other in bed. Definitely not a regret, but certainly a surprise once the hangover kicks in.

On those nights where Zib stays the night, he and Wick would just cuddle up to each other in bed, and Wick enjoys hearing Zib sing for him.

Wick is a bit insecure about their relationship, but moreso if Zib would get hurt. While there was the "Pansy Craze" in the Roaring Twenties and plenty of people from the LGBTQ community, he was still unsure if the world around him would accept the fact that he and Wick are in a same-sex relationship with each other.

Bisexual Wick and Bisexual Zib! Both of them being a bi power couple because yes <3

Wick's fur is soft. REALLY soft. He's Zib's pillow sometimes.

Zib will get to "serenade [him] personally" from time to time, too~!
