New Year's Eve-themed Sherlock Fic [wip]

The plot thickens :-) Chapter 2 brings us John's plans for his surprise for Sherlock. Sherlock's plans to surprise John are in Chapter 1. Each of them will be surprised, just not according to plan . . . The fic: Sherlock and John each set out to surprise the other on December 31st, inspired to give new meaning to the phrase "ringing in the new year." But what each had imagined would be a relatively straightforward event undergoes an unexpected reversal when their backs are turned -- and each ends up with a double surprise.

Nightmare

"Shall we go over together? It has to be together, doesn’t it? At the end, it’s always just you and me!"

Sherlock woke up with a start. His breath hitched in his throat and he could feel a thin line of sweat forming on his forehead. He could still feel Moriarty's shrill voice ringing in his ears.

When he turned in his bed and became aware of the fact that John was lying next to him, fast asleep, he sighed heavily in relief.

John. John under the duvet with him, completely naked. His golden lashes resting on his face; his mouth soft and quirked up a bit from the corner.

Sherlock ran his hand through John's ash-blond hair. It was soft and dense beneath his touch. Sherlock felt a small smile forming on his own face, and he swallowed, being reminded that he was living his dream life.

Sherlock thought about the two years he had to spend away from John, being forced to keep him in the dark. He shuddered. Technically, in the eyes of the general public in London, Sherlock had died together with Moriarty on the day when he was blackmailed into jumping from the rooftop.

All of this was obviously a lie.

Sherlock was unable to believe that he still got a chance with John, to be able to do this with him everyday. Waking up next to John, beginning and finishing his day with John by his side.

Anyway, Sherlock was thrilled about his new lifestyle as the new reality for him, nowadays.

He and John were together. Always. It was always the two of them; now, and for the rest of their days.

Sherlock placed his arm across John's waist and pressed a kiss on his cheek. John was still sleeping, but the faint smile on his face was unmistakeable.

Fluffbruary never ends (or at least, it continues for all of 2023)

Once again, we are convinced that February isn’t big enough to contain All the Fluff of Ever.

So, we hereby declare the 14th of every month to be a part of Fluffbruary.

How about if you, the fluffbruarians, submit ideas for prompts for March 14th 2023 through January 14th 2024?

Suggest a couple of words and/or images by sending it to us in an ask, would you?

We’ll need three words plus an image for each month. Suggestions will be shuffled together and randomly drawn into a final list that we'll post in early March.

At that point, fluffitudinarians can use any of the words or the image, singly or in combination, to create a fluffy fanwork to post on the 14th of each month. (Of course, fluffologists can always use a prompt of their own.) Again, any fandom, any ship.

Homelessness Awareness 🙏🏼

This is a reminder that homelessness is usually the result of really poor mental health and very unfortunate life circumstances, not laziness or lack of skills.

I would be thankful if you could reblog this to create awareness. You can also add resources that you think can be helpful in your location.

And to whoever is going through these hard life circumstances...this doesn't make you less of a human. This doesn't make you unworthy, unloveable, lazy unmotivated. You deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and not to be taken advantage of, just like everybody else.

Here are the final chapters :-) The fic is now complete! Thank you to Fluffbruary's lovely readers and thank you to the @fluffbruary deities for another fun ride via their much-appreciated work on behalf of fandomhood :-) Sherlock and John manage to liberate the correct file about Angel, and as a result Mrs. Hudson strikes an extraordinary bargain with the two runaways in exchange for the details of their escapade. Plus: it turns out there's still a bit more to learn about secrets beyond Angel's creation -- from Mrs. Hudson to John and Sherlock about the essence of secrets, from Sherlock and John (as overheard by Mrs. Hudson's driver), and from Mrs. Hudson, in her last letter to Mr. Thatcher.

A continuation of my contribution to @fluffbruary 2023, through the sherlockization of E.L. Konigsburg's children's literature classic, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

For a good mood I share a small photo of my bunny! Her name is «Freaky», ’cause when I first took her, I didn’t expect the female bunnies to be so wild..😅 But now she’s used to me and became more friendly, so I hardly call her that~ She’s got gray-and-blue eyes if you ask me!
