Any theories on Kaeya’s light stand of hair?

I do have several! Here's a quick list of them because going into detail will make me go insane!

One is that Khaenri'ah tried to make an artificial archon (may or may not have failed) and that was Kaeya

Another is that it is just a family trait (not from the Alberich side but from the other) that is indicative of...well, dare I say the Khaenri'ahn royal family hehe

Crack theory of Kaeya actually being the Tsaritsa's son and thus the hair strands OR him being next in line for cryo archon status

Another crack theory where Kaeya went to a salon to have that done because he thinks it would look cool and Diluc, absolute menace, convinced him to do it (Crepus smacked their heads after)

A theory that Kaeya may be doing an Elsa and Anna from frozen where he is actually freezing his own heart (oof)

A theory that that is the real indication of the curse affecting him (and the more knowledge of the truth he knows, the worse it gets)

Finally, maybe he's just born with it? (maybe its Maybelline?)

any fic ideas u are working on atm?

always! entirely against my usual principles i am actually (eek) juggling a handful at once. there’s:

- the multi-chapter Lena POV cowboy Kara AU (TFOT) that i’ve fully outlined and partially drafted. i’m not quite ready to fully commit to it until life settles down some, but i do sneak small bites of it from time to time;

- the foodie oneshot i figured i’d fit in in the meantime, which has morphed overnight into something very different and much more elaborate than i was counting on (funny how that happens), and likely won't remain a oneshot;

- the bodyguard oneshot (that will absolutely remain a oneshot), currently consisting of just over 2.5k words of duct taped dialogue and question marks (fingers crossed for this one)

- the frankly frightening 5k word long stream-of-consciousness fever dream that’s Red K Kara AU;

- the huntsman and the wolf fairytale AU (Rootbound) which has continued to refuse to come together the way i want it to (fantasy is officially not where my talents lie).

i’m still waiting for one of them to definitively take over my brain, which i hope will happen before january. in the meantime please keep sending me kind comments and interested anons and coffee, they're a wonderful boost while these works are on their way!

I always see your podfics pop up and I always wondered, if it's okay to ask, what inspired you to start creating them?

Hi, definitely!

It's kind of an unusual one, maybe, but when I was a teenager I had really bad insomnia. I used to listen to music, because I'd often wake up in the middle of the night having panic attacks, and the music helped calm me down / ground me. BUT then it started giving me weirder dreams, so I needed a different solution. I had an old Kindle and used to make it TTS read really long fics to me, and that worked pretty well, but right around that time I discovered podfics, which felt MAGICAL. Actual people reading me my favorite fics? It quickly became one of my main coping skills for anxiety as well as insomnia--I would just put on headphones and vibe to podfic to calm down. (Certain voices can still work better than literal anxiety meds on my system, it's WILD.)

I wanted to make podfics back then, but I didn't quite have the skills and then I went to college and didn't have the quiet space / time. But finally around 2019 I had gotten back into writing, and I was bored over a long break, and I decided: why not try again? My specific inciting incident was that I left a comment on one of my favorite podfics--one of many, I like to go back every few months and be like "hey, me again, still listening to this regularly and so glad you made it"--and the podficcer went and found one of my old 2013 podfics and left a really lovely comment. And I was like, y'know what? Maybe I do want to try that again!

So I did, and then @voiceteam happened in May of 2020, and suddenly I was part of a community of really lovely people who I could ask for help / advice / just vibe with, and it was amazing, and my podficcing went from "something I do sometimes" to "this is my main hobby and my favorite thing to do in my free time"

And now I'm here! ~700 podfics later and I still have a lot to learn, but I'm really proud of the skills I've developed and the friendships I've built. <3

Hiya anon 🥰, This isn’t a silly question at all no worries!

So Laura @thoughtfullyrainynightmare and I are not actually married, we’re just very close friends and mutuals 😁! The tag “wifey” started from another close friend and mutual of ours @simpingforthisonedeer , and it just kind of…caught on in our friend group. I call another mutual of mine @eme-eleff “mi amor” which means my love, and i had other mutuals who are no longer on tumblr whom I’ve called wifey before!

It’s just a cute little nickname we’ve given each other, Laura has become a very close and dear friend of mine and I’m very glad to call her my platonic “wifey” on tumbly 🥰!!

If you ever get the chance in your wide screen gif making/screencapture journeys, could you check to see if Kata is still laying on the ground* when Cal shoots Bode? No pressure!

(*I've always been curious if the devs had some idea as to what they wanted that scene to be even if they didn't show it or I fully am prepared she's standing in T-pose off screen because they didn't think anyone would be curious enough to check. 😂)

Finally got a chance to check this tonight, and Kata's character model disappears after the following two shots in the cutscene. She also swaps to a low-poly version when she's just barely visible behind Merrin in the original camera angle. She reappears briefly for the matching wide shot when Bode drops Merrin / Merrin throws knife. Then she's gone for the rest of the scene, as that section of the room isn't seen on-camera again.

In general, if a character isn't on screen they'll either A) receive super limited animation, B) a static model placeholder, or C) disappear completely. B and C are most common, and it gets pretty funny when expressionless character models are vibing just off-screen. #gamedesign

It'd be fun to find an exception though! I'll keep you posted ✌️

Okay, so Witforge was actually not my initial suggestion! On this project I've been working Matt Fitton as he was our script editor (and honestly the nicest human ever!) and I was thinking about Romana's last name and wanted the name to feel like they were from the same world, and a friend of mine in passing had suggested the idea Mindsengine. Which would then be like the mirror to Romana's Heartshaven. I shared this idea with Matt but he thought it might be too on the nose, so we started to think about other words for mind and engine Matt suggested Witforge in a list, and I chose it - as it sounded the most right out of that section and it grew on me the more I read it. So that's how we now have: Narvinectralonum of the House of Witforge

1: sexuality headcanon - I like him pansexual as he is ♥

2: otp - I don't actually have one. Hal is kind of a wildcard for me, he goes well with lots of people. I must say that I tend to prefer when he bottoms though, and I think my favorite Hal ships have to be Sinhal and Batlantern.

3: brotp - Halbarry! I 100% know they're more than friends and there are pretty big hints that they dated, but they are also bros and they are The Best Bros. Hal loves him so much it's heartwarming to see.

4: notp - None!

5: first headcanon that pops into my head - Okay this is pretty random but it's the first that popped into my head, so that's the law. You remember that DC Daemon AU? The one in which Slade has a stoat Daemon? Well, Hal's Daemon was always able to take the weirdest forms, clearly of fantastical creatures. It settled into something not from this Earth, and people always blamed it on Hal being imaginative. Then the ring chose him, and it all made sense.

6: favorite line from this character - In brightest day, in blackest night ;)

7: one way in which I relate to this character - being pansexual and genderqueer!

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character - that stupid ass movie with the silly goofy CGI.

Okay now I MUST know more about the dinner with Reigen's parents if you're willing to share?

I have it all written down in note form somewhere bc it was going to be a Issho side story but hhhhhh who on god's green earth knows when I could actually get around to that.

Dinner at Reigen's parents!

-eventually Reigen feels/is guilted by his mom into bringing Teru over to meet his new grandparents. Reigen tells Teru he absolutely does not need to think of them that way

-in the week preceding the visit Reigen is quiet and stressed and it makes Teru really uncomfortable

-dinner is very awkward. Only Reigen's mom is talking and Reigen has this weird fake polite smile that won't go away and Teru does not recognize him. No waving his hands. No silly jokes.

-Teru DOES recognize the behavior though and it haunts him to think Reigen as an adult is acting the way he did at age 8

-when Reigen's dad finally gets in on the conversation he is polite but makes it very clear he thinks this whole situation is less than satisfactory. His less than subtle opinions are that 1. Reigen should get a respectable job. 2. He needs to find a wife if he thinks for one second he is actually going to raise a child, and 3. That he thinks this whole "having Teru" thing is a cry for attention and he needs to grow up

-as he makes it clear he thinks Reigen is not a good fit for being a dad, Teru has had enough of this bs (bc Reigen isn't arguing back he's just getting smaller and frowning at his plate) and loudly states that Reigen is a BETTER DAD THAN YOU

-cue a moment of disbelief from every person at the table including Teru bc he really didn't mean to say that out loud and oh god Reigen's parents look Unhappy. Teru internally panics bc he knows THAT look too and it's been a long time since it was pointed at him

-mom opens her mouth to (scold? He doesn't know) and Reigen stands up and IF YOU YELL AT MY SON YOU CAN KISS US COMING OVER AGAIN GOODBYE. >:(

-parents are very How Dare you speak to your mother that way in her own house? And start lecturing him on why he is proving their point and clearly Teru is learning his manners and-

-Reigen is like Nope. nope this was a stupid idea, I'm sorry Teru. And takes his hand and walks them right out the door and they both cry on the way home and order takeout and watch bad movies until they both fall asleep on the couch

I was wondering what age you think Legolas is during lotr? He makes much of being older than everyone else in the company which could mean he's like idk 1,000+ years old but I've always wondered whether he's just being a little shit about and is actually like barely 200. Just interested to hear your take

Sure! I like @askmiddlearth's analysis of Legolas' age here, which places him between 200 and 2,000 years old, based on some of the clues hidden in his dialogue. I don't have an exact age I place him at, but I skew toward the younger end of the 200-2,000 years old range (probably 500-600 years old at most, but very likely younger).

I do think there's a lot of Little Shittery involved in what he says about his age. If he were as old as he says he is, he wouldn't make so much of it. It comes across as very "I'm finally not youngest anymore, and I have to let everyone know that I am So Much Older Than They Are."

I personally envision Legolas as being relatively young for an Elf living in the Third Age and probably one of the youngest Elves in Mirkwood (if not the youngest). Like @askmiddlearth mentions in the linked post, Legolas seems to have had a relatively untroubled life and has been protected from the worst of the world, even though he lives in Mirkwood and clearly has learned how to defend himself and to do so well. He's inexperienced with death, so it's unlikely he fought in the Battle of Five Armies, which either means he was too young or too inexperienced because of his youth (which would point to him being closer to the 200 years old end of the range at the time of LOTR), or else he's Thranduil's sole heir and Thranduil didn't want him coming to harm.

I also think that Legolas' very positive, upbeat personality points to him being very young and unfamiliar with grief and trouble, unlike older Elves, who would naturally have some experience with loss, grief, heartache, etc. and would have walked away changed from those experiences.

What we're given of Legolas' thoughts and memories points to this as well. We don't, of course, know all of his memories, but the ones that the text provides are happy, not sad (as you would expect of an Elf who has lived long in the world): “The heart of Legolas was running under the stars of a summer night, in some northern glade amid the beech-woods.” The fact that the text notes happy memories indicates to me that his life so far has been largely pleasant, which again points to him being very young for an Elf.

How is the new job?

The new job is currently a lot - lots to learn, lots of new things, lots of adjustment. My former job allowed me a lot of downtime and I was very comfortable there in a lot of ways, so this is stretching me and requiring me to shift my lifestyle in certain ways. I know that it will be good, and in many respects it's the ideal for me in the professional space, but right now it's also super overwhelming. I started work on Wednesday and I'm already preparing to grasp my holiday weekend Monday with both arms. 😅 Still, I believe I'll get to the place where it all feels comfy and second nature for me!

ohhhhhh, bruce banner for the hc game??

I figure Bruce is always constantly craving salt and sugar and after hulking out always gravitates towards a fast food joint.

Related to one, I imagine the longer Hulk stays fronting the thinner Bruce is when he finally comes back, and the longer he stays driving the body as so to speak he gains more weight and becomes healthier looking.

Bruce does actually quite like buying nice, expensive clothes, he's just come to accept it's not worth immediately breaking out of them when the time comes, but he does have a wardrobe somewhere with some pretty nice and fancy clothing.

Doesn't remember Sasquatch's name and is going to be overjoyed when she mentions being trans so he doesn't have to awkwardly find out his old college roommate's name because he totally forgot it.

Bruce needs glasses, but rarely wears them for fear of breaking them. Hulk also needs glasses, but is long-sighted while Bruce is short-sighted.

More about the pride, any photos?

We have a two-day city pride since last year and this year we tried to do as many things as possible. It was SO much fun, lots of a things to do, a drag pride competition, a street party and even a parade. 🥰

There were programs for pretty much every generation of queer people which I loved. Since the recent increase of hate crime and intolerance towards queer people in the Netherlands, I really feel like we are in dire need of pride (especially also the activism). I'm glad more cities in the Netherlands decide to have their own pride aside from the bigger cities like Amsterdam.

Daniel came out of the bedroom, he had put on a pair of black skinny jeans and his vans. But no sweater or jacket. Max’s brow furrowed. “You’ll be cold.” He pointed out, and Daniel blushed before covering his face with his palm, his curls flopped forward. “I need to do laundry, I don’t have any clean sweaters. I’ll be fine.” He muttered with a shrug. Max rolled his eyes, knowing that Daniel would shiver the moment they walked into the elevator. He shook his head and walked past Daniel back to his bedroom. He grabbed a sweater from his closet and walked back out of his room with it held in front of him for Daniel to take. Daniel’s blush deepened as he ducked his head into the thick fabric, the navy sweatshirt was perfectly oversized and smelled like Max. “Thanks.” He said shyly, ducking his head to covertly sniff the collar and get enveloped in Max’s scent again.

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

I got like 3 ideas last week that, reasonably I know I can't write them all lol

The latest one was a Renovation AU Idea. Where Max is a contractor/handyman on a job and the interior designer who hired him got fired. Daniel was hired on as the new designer and its a sort of enemies to lovers but theyre not really enemies. They just but heads a lot because their thinking/working styles are a little different. And they have a limited amount of time left on the project to get everything done.

They bicker alot and the Daniel teases Max a lot- makes a lot of tool jokes, always noticing how Max's thigh strap tool kit is snug on his legs. Theres sexual tension of course but they figure out how to work well together. Max kisses Daniel late one night. When theyre both frazzled and tired and arguing over if the chandelier needed to three or four inches lower than in the plans.

"It will be too low Daniel, the weight distribution will be off."

"well if your guys installed the fucking beams-"

Max presses him against the unfinished fireplace and kiss him hard.

They fuck nasty when the kitchen gets fully installed, testing the height of the counter tops- of course. They finish the job and start dating. They eventually open up their own business.

Thats the quickest explanation without it becoming like 1k words lmao!
