Headcanon that Pib visits everyone every now and then and mostly just chills.
He does that cat thing where you walk into a room and they're just on a very tall object and you have no idea how they got there. Rosamund walks into her room at the castle and hes sprawled out on the stone of her windowsill that's been perfectly warmed by the sun. None of the guards or servants ever see him enter and her room is at the top of a tower like 3 stories up. She acts like this is absolutely normal any time it gets brought up.
He lies under a tree with Timothy or sits in Henry's lap on the porch as he rocks in a chair. Sometimes he'll follow at Jack's heels during deliveries or just around town. Everytime Jack'll start to veer towards a not-so-great decision, Pib gives him a little nudge in a better direction and some advice.
He'll wander into Gepetto's workshop and just fuck with shit. The man is constantly having to put stuff back on tables, just for it to get knocked down again when his back is turned. He'll play games with Pinocchio as he grows older, offering him help and advice when it's relevant. Just spending time with him in general, whether it's hanging out at Pinocchio's house or getting into whatever shit he's schemed up that week.
He'll join Gerard on adventures and occasionally ask his help for something with the people of his kingdom. When he hears Gerard trying to start a gossip session with Timothy, he gladly chimes in with his own shit-talk about the various people he encounters. This quickly becomes a regular thing for them.
Pib schemes with Ylfa and joins her in her many endeavors to absolutely fuck shit up for adults and people in power. Anyone so much as breathes wrong in her direction and he's popping out of her hood like a second head to give the most seething, feral hiss. Anytime Pib, Ylfa, and the Baba Yaga are together, no one is safe. He'll occasionally join her, Gerard, and Pinocchio for gin rummy. As a rule, any game night at Baba Yaga's hut ends with toppled tables, holes in windows and ceilings, and at least one person sprawled out on the roof and/or front lawn with no memory of how they got there.

Burrow's End is an absolute masterpiece.
In the span of ten episodes Aabria and Co. weave an exciting and emotional adventure story about a family of sentient stoats. It delivers huge laughs, interesting societal criticism, remarkably emotional and well-acted scenes and concludes with a series of epilogue scenes that feel appropriate for each character, some heartfelt and subdued and others bigger than life and all the funnier for it.
Siobhan and Izzy play the perfect pair of siblings. They fight and argue but they also love each other. Jaysohn (Siobhan) looks up to Lila (Izzy) and believes she's the smartest stoat in the world (and by the end she probably is) and Lila hypes up her little brother's athletic skills. They both fully embodied these kids and I could watch them do fun stuff for more episodes. Give me a version of Saved by the Bell with them. Stoat by the Bell.
Brennan and Rashawn, playing sisters, also knock it outta the park, showing a more mature sibling dynamic. Brennan portrays Tula as the quintessential overtired single mother of excitable kids, and Rashawn as younger sister Viola straddles a very interesting line of being intimidating to outsiders but very much more naive and looking to her older sister when she starts a family.
Jasper as Thorn, a guy everyone just lets be a cult leader because he really wanted to, is fantastic. His is a difficult role as the only non-blood relative. Jasper plays Thorn with such real humanity of a guy in over his head and letting his ambition wife call the shots, but also one who agrees with her goal, really loves her and has moments of real menace. He has some very funny scenes, his big speech is perfect, and I just enjoy him.
Erika is wonderful. They play the epitome of generational trauma as many have said but as much trauma as Ava has, she is also loving and willing to learn. The fact Erika took this adversarial role is incredible. The tense dramatic scene primarily between Ava, Tula and Viola is amazing. They act their asses off and make hard choices that I imagine are difficult even for such an experienced player.
Aabria's DMing always feels fun. She doesn't get bogged down in the rules. She knows them. She plays by them. But as a master, she knows how and when to break them too. Her seasons on Dimension 20 have all had a tenseness, a particular edge to them that can give me anxiety during dramatic scenes between two characters. It always feel like one of her NPCs may say something devastating and the tension between characters reaches really thrilling heights. This is present in other seasons, but I don't think anyone does it as well as she does. The first season of hers to have battle maps, Aabria really swung for the fences and gave us some of the wildest maps to date.
Shout out to Carlos Luna's voice acting. He did an incredible job. And shout out to the whole crew who have put together one of the best seasons of D20. They keep finding ways to build on what's come before and they should be commended for it.
Dimension 20 is most successful when the concept is very streamlined. They don't do huge 100 episode campaigns capable of handling huge winding complex narrative, but short focused D&D stories, which is why many of the Side Quests have been so fantastic. They embody this philosophy most clearly, but it's apparent in the most beloved Intrepid Heroes seasons as well—John Hughes/High Fantasy, Game of Thrones/Candyland, Retrofuturism, Film Noir but in a Brain... Burrow's End fits this perfectly. It's streamlined concept paired with great storytellers and great chemistry sets it up to be a smash hit before it begins. And goddamn does it deliver.
Thanks Stupendous Stoats!

[before you scroll please note i am in desperate need of opinions so at the very least vote randomly if you do]
okay i don’t know how big the dimension 20 fandom is on here but i just gained access to a dropout tv account (thanks gully) and am trying to get through every dimension 20 show there is. i already watched season 1 of Fantasy High + Escape From The Bloodkeep and have just finished a Court of Fey and Flowers and have no idea if i should just start season 2 of fantasy high immediately or try out another different series because as much as i love it i have spent so much time with just fantasy high over the years.
like with all good decisions im making others choose for me, please vote on whichever one you think i should try next and if you don’t know what they are but have found this poll just pick whichever name you want. you make the rules i just play by them!! tyyy
the two fantasy high spinoffs are being left until after fantasy high. also ravening war is obviously gonna happen after acoc so thats no on there either. literally just want to know where the fuck to go from here cause everything looks amazing.
also if im missing one somehow. whoops. just vote with whats here idk
UPDATE: oh my god holy shit tysm everyone?? was NOT expecting ti get over 500 votes but very happy to not only get input on this but also know that the d20 fandom is alive and thriving!!
im probably going to watch the unsleeping city, fantasy high s2, and then the other intrepid hero campaigns (and i will be watch m&m + mentopolis during a strastruck odyssey), but now im more excited to watch all of them just by hearing everyone’s opinions (except shriek week apparently) (a acoc but only because it seems amazing but i WILL cry)
ty again for the input, appreciate it sm <3

Burrow's end spoilers below
Holy shit homeslice
We just saved the world
The Blue forest is offically a recognized nation meaning not only does Jaysohn compete in the Olympics THEY CAN SEND AN ENTIRE FUCKING DELAGATION
Everyone just truly wrapped up their storyline in a very amazing way that doesn't leave me craving more.
Rashawn killing an entire combat in one turn is truly amazing and I hope my players never figure out they can do that.
I would like to point out, in the actual timeline THIS WAS 8 DAYS
I've only watched two D20 seasons in full (this and mentopolis) and I am ready to keep watching this show for who knows how long.
Thank you @quiddie for designing this godsend of a season and letting us all revel in it.
Brighter than the sun
Swifter then the wind
I'll talk to you all again tomorrow

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
today is the FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the dnd campaign that i am a member of...!! so you know that a long rambling post is 100% in order.
five years ago, i played dnd for the very first time. (the date on that post says the 16th but that's because we played for like a billion hours and it went past midnight. because of course it did.) i remember being so, so nervous about it bc i seriously knew next to nothing about dnd. i had never watched any tabletop shows or anything and i was pretty much totally new to improv. i had no idea what a d20 was. i wish i was kidding. i truly just dived right in there. (fitting, i guess, since the character i play is a triton... LMFAO).
i'm so glad that decided to try it out regardless bc it has paid off in ways that i can't even begin to express fully... this campaign has accompanied me through so many life events - both the good and the bad - and i cherish each and every one of our Merry Band of Misfits' adventures. even when shit hit the fan and encounters got tense or chaotic in some form, it ended up making for some absolutely wonderful memories. i'm so glad that that reides - my lil blue fish lad!!! - is a member of the champions valoris.
reides is a character who is extremely near & dear to my heart and he has really awakened a creative side of me during these past five years. i always strive to be a player who can live up to him and do his character the justice that it deserves. even 'beyond' the campaign, i have so much fun writing stuff related to him, making crafts related to him, coming up with art ideas for him and getting comms of him... simply rotating him in my mind. you know how it is. really, i think it's impossible to sum up what reides means to me because he's just... REIDES!!! (also, peep the original token i had for him vs his current one... so cute. just so cute.) i seriously love all of the stuff that everyone else at the table makes for their own characters, too! playing pretend with your friends is fr one of the most healing experiences ever; we all gently feed off each other's creativity in such a lovely way. the passion we all have for our respective characters and the overall setting of the campaign is infectuous, and that passion - coupled with a whole lot of hard (yet fun!!!) work - has made for a story that is nothing short of legendary.
so i just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and say that i am honored to share a table with these incredibly creative individuals who have saved me in so many ways!!! big shoutouts to my fellow player, @mintflavoredwindows, who plays kilwin, the EXTREMELY blessed (teehee cleric joke) blond lad standing next to reides in that little chibi line-up of our characters (and who also takes the time to write AMAZING!!!!!! session synopses which all of us read time and time again; they are fr a lifesaver not to mention an immortalization of everything we've been through), our dungeon master of legend, @killdragons, who puts a TON of effort into the campaign setting as a whole and was the person who offered me a position in the campaign to begin with, @brewswain who has accompanied us on tons of different arcs with his absolutely incredible array of characters AND @sangre who has guest starred with his lovely miré (AND WHO HAS SUPPORTED THE CAMPAIGN SOOO MUCH IN GENERAL i love talking abt alethustria with you bree)!!! nathan (who plays jorah) and cj (who plays ashara and played slumberjack during the first season of the campaign) aren't on tumblr dot com so i can't give their urls a little shout-out in this post, but i'm still going to restate that being able to share in this adventure with them - both in-character and out-of-character - has been fucking incredible. the adventurers formerly known as the pog champions are eternal. viva la champions valoris. etc etc etc.
i also want to thank everyone who's supported reides / the campaign as a whole on the sidelines, bc you guys are absolutely amazing. and i can't possibly post this without showing off our lovely campaign wiki. bc it's iconic.
thanks everyone :') so excited for future adventures!!!

I just figured out why the "Don't hate on Kristen, she's just a traumatized 17 year old girl she wasn't prepared to create and care for a deity and it's not fair to expect her to" argument bugs me so much!
First and foremost, Kristen Applebees owns my entire heart and soul. She saved my fucking life. She and I went through a scarily similar religious crisis at fifteen and she and Ally helped me process it. By extension, I respect Ally immensely. They are integral in what D20 is today, and I can't thank them enough for that, Chaotic Dumb shit included. Whatever choices they make to A) have fun at the table and B) play Kristen to her truest potential, I support them.
Right now, Kristen is certainly acting in character, I'm not denying that, but her character still hasn't learned the lesson she needed to. The argument above boils down to the claim that teenagers shouldn't be held responsible for their actions, and as someone who was 17 fairly recently, YES THEY FUCKING SHOULD. Teenagers are capable of doing amazing things. They are more than capable of making moral and practical judgements, and they should be allowed to. They are intelligent and thoughtful and complex. Kristen proves that every second she's on screen. Denying her the consequences of her actions, both good and bad, is just disrespectful to her accomplishments.
Teenagers should receive unconditional love and support from the adults in their lives, but they do not get consequence immunity that expires at 18. Kristen, more than any other bad kid, lacks parental support. Her connection to stable adults is largely through her girlfriend, and that's not ideal. But Kristen has proven she understands what it means to be the cleric of a new god, that in the same way her devotion raised her from the grave, her apathy could bury her once more. It's happened to [redacted] before. Apparently she hasn't even attempted to spread that responsibility out by sharing the gospel. She hasn't asked for help, which is a teenager's most fundamental right. It makes sense that she hasn't, someone else pointed out that Kristen is still searching for the absolute security in knowing a god is all powerful that she had while believing in Helio and has yet to unlearn that, which is why she struggles with her deities. She very obviously relies on religion to fill a hole in her worldview. But if Kristen kills Cassandra, she kills Cassandra. That's her fault, even if it's a mistake that will one day become a dumb teenage decision in her past, rightfully paid for and rightfully regretted. And the adults in her life, whether that be Aguefort or Jawbone or someone else, have a responsibility to tell her she's out of line, because she is.
Junior year is about realizing that real life is a speeding train and you're tied to the tracks with just the pieces of a knife. Ally themself said this season is about Kristen suffering consequences for her chaotic decisions. Making a bad decision and being held responsible for it is okay. This is a theme that appears with Pete as well. Expecting them to learn from their experiences and behave better gets conflated with hating them and is met with excuses about their circumstances and lack of support, even though both demonstrate an extreme desire to learn and grow.
(Finally, the last piece of this argument that bugs me, is the claim that people criticizing Kristen must not have experienced a faith crisis. Bitch, with Kristen's help I banged that thing out in a year and half. By 16 I was an atheist out to my parents. Unlike Kristen, they didn't kick me out, and unlike Kristen, the existence of god/s isn't an objective reality in my world, so I get that I had it easier. But your experiences with faith aren't universal.)

who's your favorite intrepid hero (if you can choose lol)
i love them all for different reasons, but as someone who is playing a circle of spores druid in a dnd campaign currently and is up to So Many Shenanigans and causing my dm to facepalm way more than usual, i gotta say my girl Emily Axford (but honestly this answer could change tomorrow)
favorite non intrepid hero?
erika. geese with the stats of velociraptors. (and all her other shenanigans, but that one is most notable)

so so many. most recently tho, Conrad's speech to self loathing in Mentopolis.
a funny moment you love
Chungledown Bim is so funny every time. Also, when Gorgug thinks Jawbone is Tracker's dad, his voice on "nOoO. you're hER dad" is so funny, go rewatch it.

So. Neverafter finale. I didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did, and I definitely didn't think anything would top Fantasy High, but here we are. That ending was so good, and I just loved the concept of it all. Stories don't just end, they keep going and they get told over and over again and by word of mouth the meanings change and evolve and people take what they want from stories and give it their own meanings and. Idk there's just something so special about this game which is all about telling your own story, and putting it into the context of fairytales that have been around for centuries. The D20 team really does something so magical with this medium, and I think their abilities as storytellers shone the most this season.
I think each of the Heroes played their best characters yet, the mechanics were amazing, the battles were awesome, and you could really tell that they all had such a fun time making this season and that's what made watching this so wonderful. I know none of them will see this, but I can't thank the D20 team and anyone who has put any effort into making this season enough. Wonderful job everyone, truly. Can't wait for the next one.
Fantasy High: 8/10
Fantasy High Sophomore Year: 9/10
Unsleeping City: 7/10
Unsleeping City II: 8/10
A Crown of Candy: 9/10
A Starstruck Odyssey: 10/10
Neverafter: 10/10

Hi there! I saw your post 723704535146807296 about wanting to watch the show Game Changer but not knowing how. Apologies in advance if you were just joking or have already gotten 500 asks telling you this already, but Game Changes is one of many shows available on the website dropout.tv a streaming service run by the remnants of College Humor. You can sign up like with any streaming service. It costs money obviously but I love it. Game Changer is amazing as is Make Some Noise, I also like the D20 D&D series, Dirty Laundry, Um Actually, and Erotic Bookclub but there's heaps of great stuff on there, definitely worth it in my opinion. This episode is called Sam Says and there is a Sam Says 2 in later seasons. So so good.
Thank you! I wasn't aware of that, I like the few clips I have seen but haven't heard where to watch it. I was hoping for something local (am not a fan of streaming services), but I might sacrifice my dignity for this! It seems fun!
Thanks a lot for the help <3

Dear Author
Thanks for writing for me! Since I don't know what fandoms you want to write for, I have quick thoughts about a lot of things under the read more to avoid annoying other people with a long post.
General Thing to Know/Requests
The max Teen and Up rating request is to allow for canon typical violence and language for some fandoms,
but I DNW fics with sexual content. It squicks me out.
please no romance centered fic unless otherwise specifically requested, but background romance is cool as long as its tagged
I tend to prefer fics with endings in the hopeful to happy range
Feel free to make characters Jewish
Fandom Specific Things
Note: fandoms are listed in the general order of how pleasantly surprised I would be receive fic for them with the smaller fandoms with less content tending to be towards the top, and my (still loved but generally have more content) fandoms towards the bottom. If you're comfortable writing for multiple fandoms I've requested, and aren't sure where to start the order I talk about things can be a guide if you want. Also, don't feel limited by my bullet points of things I like, they're not meant to be an exhaustive list. Please try not to include things from seasons or episodes I say I haven't watched if at all possible since I like to avoid spoilers--or at least tag or mention in the author's note what episode one should be at to avoid spoilers.
Children of Éarte (This is a DnD actual play with a story that started in our world and then portal fantasy things happen and they are slowly discovering their magic powers. If this sound at all interesting to you and you write for this you will make me so happy. Here is a music video that provides a summary of the first story arc)
Neb's Jewishness
Maeve's disability (EDS or something EDS like)
Robin's job stories
Maeve/Silas pranks
JewishGolem!Steve the statue
The Barony of Olives
Do you have thoughts on what happens next while the show is on hiatus? This is an invitation to write about it!!!
Rubee's fantastic stories/lies
everyone in the motley makes Halie land food
Kit and Pipsqueak playing in the background somewhere
Eric's TBD RPG
Amy's Doctor is My Doctor and anything with her is excellent
The Doctor, Veleg, and other companions in a library
Finn/Roko romance centered fic is alright
Callisto 6
Lacy's Jewishness
Luma & Lacy's friendship
Cass breaking things accidentally
Shield of Tomorrow
Ace Lark Sage
Throlo being the kind of dr every patient deserves
Genny Plantface
Lassie/Rue/Throlo romance centered fic is alright
I HC Rue as Jewish because their performer is
Crossover with Clear Skies
Clear Skies
Jane Lakat and Vrenn friendship
EXEO counseling anyone
Crossover with Shield of Tomorrow
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms
Blooshi & Gromma are my favorite relevant CNE originals
Favorite affiliations Heroes of the Planes & Brimstone Angles
Feel free to mix groups up for a goofy adventure
Into the Woods
"nice is different than good" is my favorite line
feel free to lean into act two messiness
Crossover with D20 Neverafter
Dead End: Paranormal Park
Barney's Jewishness
Autistic and proud Norma
Dimension 20
No Tiny Heist or Shriek Week please. I haven't gotten into them
a Neverafter season crossover with the musical Into the Woods
Unsleeping City is my favorite setting
Jewish!Iga and family
I love the friendships in The 7
ACoFaF fic is an exception to my not romance centered request
A Coffin Run fic with Florina converting to Judaism or centering any Astrovsky family Jewishness
Critical Role
Any Campaign is fine including the EXUs, but I'm not caught up on C3 past E38, so please no spoilers
C1 favorite Keyleth
C2 favorite Jester
C3 Laudna+Imgen romance can be centered if you want
Calamity Laerryn romance with Loquatius can be central to fic
Post calamity Maya figuring out Patia's Sphere of Power
Doctor Who
Thirteen
Donna Noble is amazing
The book Shada is one of my favorite Doctor Who stories
Even if you don't know Eric's TBD RPG well enough to write a full fic for it, cameos by or mentions of characters from that Doctor Who actual play in other Who fic would make my day.

Yo just as an FYI since I know critical role can be super intimidating to get into, EXU and EXU Calamity will be a good place to start, especially if the EXU Calamity stuff has caught your attention.
Calamity is gonna be a 4-part mini series (nowhere near as much content as a like 130-part campaign) and it has a lot of super interesting lore for the other campaigns without being super directly involved. There will inevitably be bits that get big reactions from the cast where ur like ‘what’ but remember that’s fine! And even people who have seen all CR content will see those moments and be like ‘wait why is that getting such a big reaction’ (read: me having to look up who Purvan Suul is despite having seen all of C2&3 and nearly all of C1)
As I’m sure you’re aware, Calamity is, by it’s nature, a tragedy. It is no secret that almost certainly everyone in this campaign will die. And while that’s sad in itself, it can also provide some comfort in the fact that like, this is an integral part of the CR backstory, and we kinda don’t have to worry about the fates of the characters because they are already sealed.
Basically this is a long winded way of saying that if Critical Role has started to catch your attention, you’re in a good position to start watching Calamity, see how you like it, and use it as a stepping stone to the rest of the Exandria. And if you have any questions or anything pls feel free to ask
That's good to know! I am definitely intimidated by CR - I've seen so much about it and I know it's very beloved. It did feel like a huge commitment, though. But they've caught my interest now, for sure.
I'm definitely super intrigued by the story so far - they picked the right folks from Dimension 20 to pull me in, and I've really enjoyed the other PCs too. Luis is so amazing, he's a really good actor, it's been so much fun to watch him and Brennan work off each other. I'm fully committed to finishing Calamity, I need to know how these beautiful, arrogant fools make the apocalypse happen, haha.
And I'm glad at least even some CR fans have a little trouble keeping up with the lore. For one, it makes me feel better about my relative cluelessness, and for another, it speaks to the depth and breadth of the world-building. I don't know how much, if any, Dimension 20 you've seen, but most of Brennan's worlds are pretty self-contained within their own seasons/series. So there's a ton of content there, but it's broken down into smaller parts and different settings. Getting into a more vast world will take some adjustment, but I'm super intrigued!
The general premise of Calamity is so interesting to me - I'm a sucker for a story that starts out with all the characters doomed. I read the wiki a bit to understand how serious the consequences of their actions will be, and damn... they really fuck shit up, lmao. But they're all so likeable and sympathetic, I know it's going to be (wonderfully) heartbreaking when they reach that inevitable conclusion. That premise pulled me in a lot too, and Lou, Aabria, and Brennan just sealed the deal. And now I'm getting to know the CR folks too.
So to borrow what you said, this is basically a long-winded way of saying that my interest is absolutely piqued and I'm probably going to try to start Critical Role, once Calamity is done. (There's a new season of D20 out too, and I can only balance so many campaign details at once, haha.) Thanks for giving me your viewpoint on it! I'm excited to see more.

for the ask game! 3, 6, 12, 16, and 20!
Thanks for the ask!! I'll send some to your inbox too so watch for that!!!!🧡
3- favourite PC
I'm not entirely sure if this means cast member or character? Lou for cast member (I am a Lou Stan first and foremost and a human second). Character: Ayda 🥺 she is my first and only love 💕
6 - comfort character
AYDAAAA 🧡🧡🧡 She truly broke the mold. I love her so much 🧡 Aelwyn also really gets to me as someone who had a /childhood/. I see the Me in her.
12 - campaign you'd like another season of
Fantasy High is an easy answer but I also wonder how much more story those characters have left. There's been a lot of character building and really amazing growth that's happened in the two seasons we saw. I'd love to see more of the characters bc I love them but also I don't think there's anywhere left to go. They have their endings. I want them to live happy lives now.
Other than that, Pirates of Leviathan 😭😭 Cheese me boy
16- character you want to see more of
CHEESE!!!! Carlos Luna FTW!!!!!!!!
20 - recommend some d20 mutuals !
OH BOY ᕙ(`▽´)ᕗ

I'm not a D20 fan myself but I've been listening to all of the Sig Figs Collective music because they're absolute bangers even out of context lol. I should really check it out one of these days.
Funny story, I did not know somebody had made a real band! That’s amazing omg I will def check them out sometime.
But also yes I highly recommend D20 if you’re into actual play shows (and frankly also if you’re not bc I thought I was not before watching these lmao). I personally found it much more manageable than something that’s an ongoing campaign like Critical Role, because the max number of episodes per season is 18. (Then again I am now listening to NADDpod which has 100 episodes in its first campaign - BUT that was after getting into D20 and developing a crush on Emily Axford whoops lmfao.
I believe they have the entire first seasons of Fantasy High and The Unsleeping City on their YouTube, and they also have the first episode of a lot of their “side quest” shorter campaigns, with the rest of them being available on Dropout for a subscription. Fantasy High is about high schoolers who go to a school that teaches them how to be adventurers and it’s some good teen drama but also genuine pathos and incredible comedy. The Unsleeping City is urban fantasy set in magical New York, featuring a talking rat, a one-man disaster, Superman if he were a hot Japanese firefighter, the embodied soul of New York City, a Broadway star who stole the Queen of Faerie’s shoes, and a recently-separated Italian hairdresser from Staten Island who is TOTALLY FINE THANK YOU FOR ASKING.
I also really recommend paying for Dropout if you can because, y’know, paying creators is good and also I like these people a lot. However if you can’t pay for it I am totally willing to ahem lend a hand shall we say just hit me up privately
