to me, nothing is more heartbreaking than Rosamund and Jonathan, because Rosamund does love him, but not personally. Rosamund's love for him is the love she has for all things and all people.

It is an extension of her kindness. It's actually exactly what Rapunzel said about Elody and Gerard. Rosamund is simply so kind and so loving.
