Linktober 2023 Day 12 - Princess

More Tetra. A pirate, proud of her skills, strength and cunning. But... a princess. A title she never wanted. A name that was forced onto her. The title of a dead kingdom she'd never known.

Letters of the past.

This is my entry for Zelink week 2023 day 3 letters by @zelinkcommunity, featuring Sprit Tracks Link and Zelda. It originally just these two, but I decide to feature Tetra and the Hero of the Winds, whose I named Kaze.

With his new role as royal bodyguard, Link has to follow Zelda except for when she changed her clothes, take her bath, or when it is time to go to bed. Link doesn’t realized it would be a lot of work given what he and Zelda has been through in their adventures.

Zelda show Link the letter and said, “This letter belong to my grandma Tetra. I hope what does it said.�� The two start reading tomorrow,

Dear Kaze,

I know that it is weird that you get this letter from me. I want to use it to test the post office of this new kingdom, and you know how our little one want to grab my necklace when the stone start glowing when we use it to talk to each other. Whoever made these should have realized the young member of the royal family want to play with it. The crew are doing alright, with most of them settling down with the new arrivals. Gonzo is training a group of royal guards, and I giggle when they discover that the uniform is based on your old green clothes.

Anjean is doing alright in the tower, but we both can’t help worrying about Byrne. I didn’t tell you earlier, but Byrne was upset with the fact that you were a reincarnation of the gods hero, since he wanted to be the hero as Byrne has trained his immortal life to keep the seal on this demon king Anjean told us about when she explain the Spirit Tracks. I do worry that he could do something stupid.

Anyway, our son Daphnes are doing fine, but it is a nightmare having to be a mother and rule a kingdom, even with Nudge’s help. Just so you know, you are going to be taking care of our son when I seeing to the kingdom. Don’t worry, it will be like raising Aryll. In due time, we going to build a train that will travel the Spirit Tracks, better connecting Hyrule.

Once they finish reading the letter, Link said to Zelda, “Wow, I can see your grandparents has a hard time building a kingdom.” and the princess nod, glad to know what they were like.

Captain Wentworth's one of Jane Austen’s best written love interests. He is rejected by the woman he loves because her family tells her he isn’t wealthy enough, so he goes off to sea to pine, becomes a captain and gets rich, then goes back and sweeps her off her feet

Currently dying over an idea of an older Windwaker Link being a sailor on the great seas with Tetra. They're married in a proper pirate wedding, and have little fights all the time but it's never without love. Aryll joins their motley crew after the death of their grandmother, and wears her grandmother's sash everyday.

Tetra in Windwaker and Phantom hourglass gets pissed if you call her Zelda. My favorite version of her. She might be the reincarnation of the goddess but she isn't named Zelda and she was raised a pirate not a princess. Link is just some kid that speaks through extreme emotes and cartoonish movements alone. He killed a man. His father figures are a talking boat and a cowardly sailor. Him looking like the hero of time is coincidental. Not related to him at all, he's just some kid Ganon pissed off. The gods literally saw this kid and went "he's defeated our challenges and even gathered the shards of the triforce of courage, he'll be perfect to replace the hero of time." And then he killed the man that kidnapped his sister

While not directly related to the ancient hero of sky or time. He is certainly reincarnated like all of them. He kinda has to be, he just so powerful. And stupidly courageous. And was able to kill the reincarnation of Demises hatred. Or at least permanently imprison that version of him at the cost of the master sword staying in place for eternity.

It might explain why the big bad in Spirit tracks needs Zelda's body to fully form. Ganon was the body demises hatred usually inhabits, and now that is no longer an option. The next best option would be Zelda's body, the mortal Goddesses body would be the perfect replacement for the demon kings extremely powerful magic. Link is there

Link and I had been in a relationship for over a year now. After the events with the wind waker, he had finally decided to join my band of pirates. My older sister was never the biggest fan of me having a relationship, but with everything Link had went through to save everyone... I believe she has looked past it. Tetra had taught Link how to sail, and today was like every other day. Until we found that ghost ship. Then Tetra had decided to climb aboard, and I ran after her. Link followed behind, holding me close. 

Link was shaking me, his voice slowly getting louder. We were on an island, one Link and I have never seen. We both realized something was very wrong, especially since we both have collectively sailed the great sea many times over. A fairy was hollaring Link to follow her, and we did. Link held my hand the entire time, his thumb tracing patterns as we both tried to keep our composure. First, we worry about ourselves. Then we find Tet. When we were warned that the temple to enter would drain our life forces my blood ran cold.

I was pregnant. I had known this for a little bit, and was planning on telling Link. It was never the right time or place. I told Tetra, because I was vomiting on the deck one early morning. While she was irritated I was pregnant so young, she was thankful it was Link. I knew I couldn’t go into that temple, I would simply have to wait and watch outside.

When Link needed to go in, I stopped him from pulling me in. “I can’t.” I said quietly. “I’m too weak, I’ll be drained first.” Our child will die first, and I’m not sure if you even want it. Link let out a breath of relief. “I didn’t want to bring you in anyway, I need you to be safe.” He kissed my cheek and rushed inside the temple. I watched him leave and took a seat on the ground. Oshus appeared from behind and spoke with a smile on his face. “I know why you won’t enter the temple. I won’t tell.”
